Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

We love this pizza! We always get the extra large cheese pizza. And it could be a bit larger for an extra large but for the price of 15.99 and they deliver! We love it it is my go to pizza!

The staff was super nice + friendly. The pizza crust was spot on for NYC pizza, BUT the cheese was so greasy it wasn't stringy, it just puddled on top of the pizza and the grease soaked through the crust. The pepperoni rolls were awesome, but unfortunately not worth another visit just for those.

I have lived in Brooklyn and must agree, they get New York pizza pretty darn close! Best that I have found in Ohio, that is for sure!

We recently moved from Northern New Jersey to Columbus, and BOY do I miss the pizza. I have been searching all over central Ohio for a decent slice. Pizzeria New York is the closest thing I have found to NY style pizza so far. This is a nice little spot... nothing fancy but the staff is friendly and the Pizza is delicious. They also have some Italian entrees on the menu such as lasagna and spaghetti. We tried the cannoli for desert which was also very good. Pizza is available by the slice or whole pies. Very kid friendly.

It has "New York" in the name, so of course I rolled down to Picktown for pizza night. Pizzeria New York sits in a strip mall. Inside is a large dining area with plenty of tables (sadly, they were all empty, with one exception, on this Tuesday night). Most of the Yelp gripes about this place seem to focus on service. For me, the pizza rolled out at the promised time and it was served with a smile. PNY lives up to its name with a very solid New York style pie. The crust is thin, slightly crispy and foldable. There are no giant air pockets under the rim, but you do get some nice doughy chewiness around the edge. The sauce is nice and tart with just the right amount applied. PNY uses fresh mushrooms (thank heavens!!!). The peps were good, but nothing remarkable. Of course I also had to order the pepperoni rolls. While the menu said it was an order of 6, I only got 5. That said, they're pretty large and an excellent value ($3.99 for the box), so no gripes. These rolls consist of pizza dough around cheese and pep, all rolled up the way you would roll them croissants out of the can that I so love to use for "croissant dogs" at home. You also get the yummy side-car of marinara for dipping. PNY was definitely worth the trip. If I lived closer to Picktown, I'd definitely be in here more often. Like the sign outside this place says, "There's a big difference between the big chains and the Independent Pizzerias. Come on in and we'll prove it to you!" Indeed, they did.

Found Pizzeria New York through some friends who live in Pickerington. Now... we seriously drive the extra 5 miles, past about 10-12 pizza places, just to come here whenever we want pizza! Their pizza is amazing! Thin, hand tossed, with just the right amount of crunchy outside-chewy inside crust. Its the kind of slice that you can fold in half to enjoy. Sauce is good... not overly sweet like some places around. I don't usually like my pizza with extra sauce, but it makes sense here. Toppings are great! Mushrooms and green olives is our go-to. Just the right amount of saltiness! Atmosphere and service keep me from giving 5 stars. Not bad, just not great. But hey... some of the best pizza joints in NY aren't known for their customer service. Overall highly recommended!

Always hot and fulfilling. My husband visits this place 2-3 times a week. They have great promo coupons so look for them for a great deal. Plenty of parking and easy in and out. Like any good pizza joint packed on Friday nights!

Moved here 5 years ago loved the pizza. This place is going downhill. Sad to see it but its a reality. Tonight ordered a pizza and 1 hour and 15 minutes later called and was told a pack of lies on why it wasn't here. Then asked to talk to the manager he said as quoted " what do you want " I said our pizza was 1/2 hour late and no one called" he said do u want it or not. I said NOT ! Sad cuz it's the only pizza we like in the area. But like I said its been slowly going downhill I bet it'll soon be closing. The establishment is really rundown and service is horrible.

I wish I could have not given any stars. After a 20 minute wait we checked to see when it would be done and they said 5 more minutes, it took 10 more ( I think they forgot to make it ). They people that ordered behind us received theirs after 10 minutes(they ordered pepperoni & we ordered mushroom and onion). When they finally brought it to our table I asked if it normally took 30 minutes and all he had to say was " I think we had a big order come in sorry". The sauce was tasteless and runny. Even the thin crust was cooked correctly it also had no flavor . We ate one slice each and left the rest sitting on the table. We won't even give this place a second try like we try to do because of what I have written above.

About a year ago I waited 50 minutes for a mediocre pizza so I stayed away, went back tonight to try it again and it was deja vu all over again. Waited 50 minutes for an underbaked pizza with bland flavor. Never going back. If you want New York style pizza in Columbus, try Adriaticos on campus.

Terrible. There were 4 tables when we arrived and at least 9 people working. The place smelled rotten and our table was extremely sticky. After placing our order for 1 medium sausage pizza and a plate of spaghetti w/ meatballs it took 30 minutes to bring the dinner salad. 15 minutes later the waiter came with the spaghetti and said they messed up the sausage pizza so they are remaking it (messed it up, It was just sausage?!?). Multiple people then came in over the next 25 minutes and were served pizza or picked up a to go order. New people even sat down and had food delivered in the same time period. My two children were now very hungry so my husband went to the counter to ask for the pizza to be placed in a box to go. He was told that it was just placed in the oven and the waiter admitted it was put at the end of the line of all other orders more than once. He asked him to cancel the order, we paid our bill (no offer to compensate us) and then he asked to speak to the manager. The manager was not there due to what he was told was a personal emergency. Never again. The spaghetti sauce was bitter, very little seasoning, extremely too much tomato paste and the meatballs that they claim are fantastic tasted like cat food.

My family and I just ate at Pizzeria New York for the first time. I have to say it was the closest thing so far to NY pizza I've had here in Ohio. I'm from NY city and am homesick so this definitely helped. The owner is from NY and our server is from Chicago. The hospitality was great and from our table you can see them tossing the pizza dough which was awesome. My only complaint was the salad. Not much to it, mostly iceberg lettuce. Otherwise we enjoyed ourselves!

Definitely worth checking out, VERY tasty pizza. I was in town for the Violet Festival a couple weeks back and saw this as I drove by and the name caught my attention. Thankfully on our way back it was still before 11, so we got a large pie to go. A little pricey, I think a large with pepperoni and ham was upwards of $16+. I can get a pie like that for $4 less in other places with the same quality. They were very friendly and it was very good, but its not a place I am going to be sure to venture to next time Im in Pickerington. (I live in Dublin). This is not the best NY pizza Ive tasted since moving to the Columbus-area, but it is certainly a better alternative over the standard chains. Check it out!

Being from NY, I am always in search of the NY style taste away from home. I must hand it to Pizzeria NY for having the best NY style pizza and the best pizza I have had in Ohio so far. These guys nail the smell, texture, taste and look of pizzerias back home, and it is most awesome. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for an accurate taste of NY style pizza.

Pizza was OK at best. We went here shortly after moving to Columbus, and were in need of NE sytle pizza. We have not been back since as the pizza was average at best. I am willing to drive to get good pizza and this place is not worth the drive.

I've been looking for NY style pizza in Columbus and found only a hand full of them. The pizza and even the decor of this place does remind me of a typical pizza place back home in NJ. They cut and sell pizza by the slice which is how it should be. Only down side is the prices are a bit on the high side. Still, I'd definitely recommend the place!

Believe it or not, this place really does get close to New York-style pie. It's thin and foldable. You can taste the oven on the perfectly crisp/soft/chewy crust. If it's not at its freshest, the crust can seem a little tough. In general it's good stuff, though. It's helpful to keep in mind that it's freakin' NY-style pizza outside of NYC. If I remember correctly, beggars cannot be choosers. You can buy whole pizzas or single slices. The pepperoni is the best. Sure, it's greasy, but who's kidding themselves that pizza is health food? If you don't dig on the 'za, the garlic knots are darn good. They have lots of salads and pasta. I can never resist the pizza. The also have RC instead of Coke or Pepsi. Rock! And the word around the campfire is that the calzones are terrific. I'll try one soon. They have a small-ish bar and a stage. I'm not sure who rocks the stage in a strip mall in Pickerington...I'm not sure I want to know.

The pie, wings and cannoli are incredible. My wife and I have been stopping here every week for the past four weeks while our daughter is taking a music class close by. The last time I had New York style thin crust was in New Jersey right outside the city. This was as good if not better. Another yelper said they were 'stingy' with the topping and that the peperoni was 'greasey'. Well in my opinion, good pizza (NY or Chicago) is about the crust, something I didn't learn until I ventured outside of the midwest. Any moron can throw a fistful of veggies & meat. Baking and dough making is an art, and I would never want to try pepperoni that wasn't greasey, hell, even turkey peperoni is greasey. She was right about the cardboard disk. I didn't think it made the pie soggy, it was just kind of unappetizing to see. Just me. Service iscounter order but food and drinks sre served at table. Staff is very friendly and attentive. I still tipped 20%. Kid friendly. Two big screens.

I can't say I was that impressed with their pizza. I didn't like the fact they serve it on a cardboard tray thing, which makes the pizza get soggy fast. They're kinda stingy with the toppings too, and the pepperoni is the greasiest I have ever seen. The calzones and strombolis, however, are really good. The wings are decent too.

Great New York style pizza, best I've had outside of Manhattan. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and a lasagna and both were great. This is a place you could take your Italian relatives and have a pizza that would live up to expectations.
