The hot feta dip is out of this world... but it could always use extra dipping vessels. :)

Curious offerings... In a good way. Sat outside for lunch and got to take in their nice downtown area. Started with Scotch eggs. Didn't know quail eggs were so big, but these were pretty good. Didn't taste the sausage that was supposed to be in them. The bed of salad with the jardinera made a bonus app. For my main, had the duck rueben. Nicely prepared with smoked and corner duck paired with sweet and sour cabbage. Very, very, tasty. So many choices of sandwiches for next time. When traveling near this area, great place to stop.

First the good: Great bartender outside named "Natalie". She understood my trepidation at drinking red wine at 80 degrees and chilled it for me. Without her this would be 1 star. I drank more glasses of wine bc of her quality service. Now to the food: I ordered a shrimp ceviche and it literally had 4, half pieces of shrimp with a bunch of mangos and a few avocados... It also had hot tortilla chips which is great if it's salsa or queso but less great with a cold dish like ceviche. I brought this to their attention and they seemed shocked that I wouldn't want to pay $13 for this travesty masquerading as ceviche. And nobody from mgmt or the kitchen came out to address my concern. Apparently this is completely normal at this restaurant. I decided that I couldn't spend any more money with a kitchen this completely incompetent.

Nice patio seating. Beware of the nearby train tracks!! The menu here is great. A lot of good sandwich and sausage options. I had a hard time deciding on what to get. I finally opted for some chicken "chunks" ( boneless/skinless chicken) it's their variation of boneless wings. My husband ordered the Italian sausage with onion and peppers on a roll. We also ordered the handcut fries with their own homemade ketchup. Well, I was expecting GREAT.... And got average, or really a bit below average. Unfortunately, the chicken was barely warm and the fries were as well. ( I suspect sitting too long under a heat lamp!) also my husband's Italian sausage was missing the onions. We sent that back to add the onions. We also had no silverware and had to wait a bit for the server to bring it to us. By the time that arrived so we could eat the chicken... It was cold. The Italian sausage had a really good flavor and was enjoyed. Everything else???, well, let's just say I wouldn't be rushing back here. The service was ok, the server was pleasant and besides having to wait for eating utensils, she was attentive. They have a craft beer selection, which was nice. I'd probably give this place another go when in the area, but I would hope the food was hot. Also, the pretzels with dipping sauces appear to be pretty popular, they seemed to be served frequently to tables around us.

It cute little bar/restaurant with plenty of beer choices. It was hard to choose but I was given a sample based upon my love for Stella but didn't want that. The waitress was on point with a similar beer. The food was just okay. I had a duck Ruben and the sandwich was just okay. I have had duck before and I know it isn't for everyone. I think I would like to try another item on the menu because other things looked and sounded good.

Very cute, cool place! They make their own ketchup and sauces! Pretty impressive! There was five of us for lunch, and we had a great time! No complaints! Food is fresh and full of flavor! I don't think you can go wrong with anything you get here!!

Food (butter burger, perch, and french fries) was delicious! Service was good. Would definitely eat there again!

Swig has gotten a lot of hype on Yelp for some time now, so I thought I should give it a shot. It has the feel of a modern gastropub with slight wisps of hipster bar mixed in. I was there for lunch on a work day, so I didn't drink. But it did look like they had an extensive selection of craft and domestic draughts to select from, as well as a stocked beer fridge, which is always a good draw in my opinion. I ordered the Frankenstein wings; these bad boys are fried and tossed in a mixture of their hot garlic parm, ranch, and bleu cheese crumbles, a variable smorgasbord of great wing toppings. Now, okay wings are easy to do, but good wings are few and far between, and while these weren't the best wings I've ever eaten, they were certainly up there. I also got a side of the sweet potato tots, which were served with a very good sauce. I cleaned both my plates...need I say more? I give swig 4 stars because it had good food and a good atmosphere. The only minor knock I have is that while our waitress was very attentive, the food took quite awhile to get to us.

  • Kelsey C.

Great location but service is mediocre. The waitress didn't really know anything about what was on draft. But there is a decent bottle and draft selection, the staff needs trained more on what they are serving. The food was not bad. Overall, okay but over priced.

I am never disappointed when I go to Swig. Great food, great service, and a fun atmosphere! I am a big fan of their Duck Ruben sandwich and their beer cheese dip. So good! My only complaint would be the space. Just wish they had more seating room. Despite that, I love it here. Can't go wrong with Swig!

Came into town while on vacation. 3 nights in a row poor bar service. And I'm not one to complain. (Inserting complaint) Start rant: we came in at 902. Didn't get bartender service until 912. Bartender says the "kitchen closed at 9." Meanwhile its 926 and food kept coming out. (There's 23 people in here, not busy). It's almost like they were milking the clock so we couldn't order. Sad because this place used to be spot on with service. Where's Ashley at, she knows service. I've come in 3 nights in a row, so obviously I like the atmosphere and food, beer. Seems like the B crew has been working. Yes I know it was after 9. But the issue being French fries and burgers were coming out at 926.

I have always heard amazing reviews but being from west toledo i don't often venture to that side of town. It's in the cute old downtown of perrysburg with nice patio seating. The girlfriend and I got Frankenstein wings, chicken chunks and fries. The wings and fries were by far the best. They have a phenomenal craft beer selection and provide flights. I plan on frequenting this place often especially since it's conveniently located next to the river so a motorcycle ride there is nice.

  • Ron N.

Been here a few times and had good homemade sausages and hot dogs. Came for salads regardless of other reviewers, The chicken Caesar Salad with Kale and Arugula was excellent. The Hanelia ? was ok. Maybe 2.5* The smoked chicken was dry. The lettuce mix was fair but not great.

  • Cary T.

Horrible service!!!! Never even ordered food. Sat at the bar in a not so busy place while not 4 not 5 but 6 employees played with their hair talking and completely ignoring us. Do not recommend if you go there to actually eat!!!!

I've had the pleasure of dining at Swig a few times. Once was a fun family afternoon with iced tea and hot dogs. The other was a casual but very enjoyable date night. Swig is perfect for both! The food and drinks are excellent. I was very pleased with the variety of choices both on tap as well as bottled. The menu is smaller than many places, but the options are all pretty tempting. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed. Even parking is fairly painless for being located on the main street thanks to the lot at the rear of the building. If you're hungry (or thirsty) in Perrysburg stop by Swig!

LOVE this place! Great beer selection. Cool menu with some different items that you don't see everywhere.

  • Evan S.

Disclaimer: I'm a single guy in my late 20s without kids. I love Swig, sure I may be biased because I'm from Perrysburg, but I've traveled quite a bit. Swig would be a success regardless of location. For starters, if you enjoy craft beer, come. Nothing more to be said if that's what you're looking for. The food: Ahmazing. The butter-basted burger, scotch eggs, in house sausages, sammiches, and my usual go-to--the franks. As a matter of fact I ate each the Chicago, Coney, and Cleveland as I wrote this review (taking breaks, of course). Finally, as I alluded to earlier, it may not be the most suitable for families once the sun goes down, but I can attest that during the day it's a very diverse crowd, and they have an awesome outdoor patio if hanging by the bar isn't for you. It can get busy. It's more of first come-first serve. They don't have candles and tablecloths. Frequent live-music. Cheers

  • Brianne G.

I've been to Swig a few times. I went for lunch over the weekend and the food was great, as usual. I had the BLT with fries. I've had their dogs, scotch eggs, and burgers. Everything I've ordered there has been delicious! A must try is their pineapple bacon sundae. It's excellent! The sundae is big so it's a good dessert to split. They have a great beer selection and you can try a sample size of any craft beer on their menu before you buy. The staff is friendly and always has good beer recommendations. An excellent stop for lunch or dinner.

    (4)
  • Stef G.

Had the smokey Italian sandwich. It was great. The fries were a little soft but still good. Chipotle ketchup was a nice touch. They have a great beer selection too, and the servers seem friendly and attentive.

  • Jerry B.

Despite excellent food and service, on the Friday my daughter and I stopped for dinner before an event Downtown, this place was nothing more than an overly loud bar with obnoxious patrons whooping it up while they waited to guzzle their next ale. Others classified this place as a resturant. That's why we stopped. It's a BAR...not a restaurant. As far as pub food and craft beers all were well done . We were just not looking for a bar experience. Our sandwiches were the Big Lebowski and the Sal's Own.

    (3)
  • Douglas D.

We were looking for something unique and Swig was perfect. Fun atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor dining. Great selection of craft beers. Menu had items where we'll come back for more. I had Duck Reuben. My wife had a Cleveland Dog. We shared the chocolate bacon sundae. All very good!

    (4)
  • Meagan M.

Great food. I have never had a bad meal here. My favorite is the swig soup. The dining area is a little small but the recent patio addition makes up for it. I also like the variety of beers offered.

  • James M.

A solid 5 stars. Even my 3 kids (ages 5, 11 & 12) loved it! The Frankenstein wings, swig salad, scotch eggs & butter basted burger were "PHENOMENAL". The only things that were just okay was the hummus & the hot feta dips (they were not bad, by any means). Sent some of my friends who live in the area & they just raved about it. Will definitely be back real soon!!!

Was staying right near Perrysburg the final night of my stay in Toledo and came across this place on Yelp. Once I saw the picture of the # of craft beer taps it became a no brainer for me. As I wandered into downtown, I realized something was going on (local vendors, tents, etc) and was lucky to find a parking spot around the corner. The establishment itself was rather busy with all tables inside and all taken (live music on the patio) but I was lucky enough to snag a spot at the bar. The beer selection was indeed pretty sweet and with options for 10 and 16oz pours for most beers. Service from the bartender was a bit sporadic due to the hectic nature of the place but she certainly tried her best to keep up with everything. I ended up having 3 beers and the sausage sampler platter and my only problem was trying to decide which was better, good problem to have I suppose. I tried the kielbasa, chicken sausage and andouille. The chicken sausage was super lean and a bit small compared to the other 2 but still good nonetheless. The other 2 were great tasting (andouille is pretty spicy) and the mustardy house sauce was a very good complement. Dunno what the dressing was specifically that came w/the sweet potato fries but man, it was pretty awesome. All in all, excellent place, memorable, and I assure you I'll be back in a couple weeks when I return to the area again.

  • Laurie S.

I am here almost every other week...it's a bar/pub...lots of microbrew/craft beer...cool simple bar. Same owners as Stellas down the street (fancy) but casual and bar food...they have awesome sandwiches and I crave their chicken kale salad......it's a downtown pburg fave...always interesting crowd, friendly staff. Not the fastest service...but good place overall.

    (4)
  • Beverly Z.

One think I learned from Swigs, don't get a salad at a burger bar. I'm sure their burgers are great but they have to work on the salads. Not everyone wants a burger and fries.

  • B. T.

We returned to Swig on the way back from a trip to Florida in January of this year. Service and food were both great! The homemade hot dogs really are very good and such a great draft beer selection as well.

  • Julie D.

I have been to swig two times. Both times the food was good however neither time was the service. Had one beer, would have loved another but waitstaff didn't come back until she delivered the check....disappointing.

  • Ian T.

Have been several times to swigs and have never been impressed. This last time was the worst. The food is fine, not great and the beer menu is decent. Recently, i went in with my family and was greeted and told to sit anywhere we like. They had a few patrons but wasn't busy and after 20 mins of being ignored, we left. It felt rude and after seeing the manager just standing talking with staff, it wasn't worth waiting any longer. I'd skip it and go down another block to 5th St. Pub (much better drinks, atmosphere and food).

  • Razoun R.

Finally got to try this place! Thanks yelpers! But before I start my review, let me say that I'll probably be back here to give it another try. The place maybe seats 20-30? (Minus the bar and the outdoor patio). Kind of tight but not as bad as you'd think when you walk in. My personal opinion, it might get a bit too crowded if you come in with a group. The service. We had great service. Our waitress was very friendly, but she was also super busy, so our refills were a bit lacking, but it's no biggie. I'm hoping that if it was less busy things would have been different. The food. It was good. Nothing spectacular though. I felt that the sandwiches could have used more meat. Got plenty of empty bites. Fries were good. Had a couple of soggy ones, but couldn't finish even half of them, way too salty. The little fried cheese poppers were great. Made with paper jack cheese and had a dip that complimented it well. Price was not bad. You're looking at about $10 a person (sans alcohol). Next time I'd like to try their chicken chunks. Saw them at another table and they looked good :)

    (3)
  • MaltVinegarAvenger V.

Has malt vinegar! Woohoo! Malt vinegar, yay! "This review is still on the short side". Well, yeah! I operate on a binary system, either ya got malt or ya don't! This long enough for ya, yelp?

    (5)
  • Rieale L.

Maybe if I could have been seated or any of the 8 staff who walked by would have acknowledged our presence, I could give more than one star. I had high hopes that I could sit on the patio as there were at least 3 tables open and available that I could see before walking in but when I asked, a man told us 'no patio' and said to grab a seat inside. There wasn't anyone else waiting, and there seemed to be more staff than customers so the man's abruptness and dishonesty left such a bad taste in my mouth that we went to Packos for beer and hot dogs to wash it away. Packos was glad to seat us on a patio and let us pay them for food and beer.

    (1)
  • Mike B.

Not that great. Food was just okay. Very pretentious in style. Service was even worse. Not sure if it was an off night but I probably will not be back. Oh, and they want you to be impressed that they make their own ketchup..... Yes, ketchup. Woohoo!

    (2)
  • Kevin L.

Great beer selection, food, and service. My dinner: reuben with left hand nitro stout

    (5)
  • Zeb K.

Best beer and meat in tube form... Get the chicken chunks... They are flashed fried. Scotch egg is good too:)

  • Eric R.

Wow, Joe V is one miserable person. Swig rocks. I have NEVER had anything bad. I guess I like it because I am not afraid of people, lol.

    (5)
  • Kristi H.

Loved the food, the beer, and the atmosphere! There was live music, and the menu was simple. Wings, burgers, sandwiches, Franks, sausages, etc. I "made my own frank" and added delicious ingredients such as jalapeños, beer cheese sauce, and sautéed onions. I will definitely be back to try the other menu items!

  • PJ S.

Want an honest appraisal, from a broader perspective? - Place to drink beer and talk loudly with friends: **** (four stars) - Considering having an enjoyable dinner? * (one star) - Weighted average: ** (two stars) It's a bar, they will heat up food and serve it to you, but that may not be your idea of an enjoyable dinner. That said, there are not many choices within a half-hour drive; so, if you are hungry, you may want to eat something while you drink. I fell into that trap, ordered what I thought would be chicken sausage and was served something in a hot dog bun with tri-color condiments squirt over it. Not a good dinner. Make your own mind up regarding the other menu items. I'll stick with the Chinese proverb, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." Have a beer. Have a few. Talk with your friends. Make new friends. Have fun, but try to skip the food on the menu. Enjoy!

    (2)
  • Dan B.

Great beer selection and great food!! Make sure to try the Feta dip and the Frankenstein wings!! Prepare to wait though because like I said the food is great and the wait can be long!!

  • Pat W.

Generally I like the environment, even though it is a bit narrow and cramped, since there is a nice feel to the place. The menu is rather simple and is sandwich focused, but the food quality is pretty good. Each time I have been there the service has been so so. The place can get pretty crowded on Friday and Saturday nights. They have some decent beers which is good. Overall worth a try and go to once in a while. But unless you are there for drinks, not enough menu items to eat at regularly.

  • Amy M.

Nice atmosphere. Fully stocked bar. I understand it's a beer/ale kind of a joint but was kinda diappointed they didn't have at least 1 specialty drink. We ordered the smoked, cured & curious app. Was delish. The duck was very moist and tender. We split a bowl of Swig soup. Very good taste but thick and almost dip- like. I ordered the Italian Specialty sandwich that our server suggested. My boyfriend ordered the duck sandwich of the day. Fries were amazing. Homemade ketchup as well. Our sandwiches were good but TOO MUCH bbq sauce slathered all over :( overall it was a new experience and I'm glad we tried it out

  • Kelly R.

Another excellent experience at Swig! All of the kinks from before seem to have been ironed out. Taylor is the best server!

  • Nate H.

Been to Swig multiple times but this is regarding today's visit. Good beer selection, rotating taps, decent service. Took quite a while to get a beer initially. Changed the best appetizer on then menu which used to be the cheese cubes to a different kind of cheese and you get half as much for the same price. Gone is awesome dipping sauce too. Truly was a draw for us to go there so we were really bummed. Chicken chunks are tasty but portions are skimpy. Wife had the BLT and the bacon was very fatty. Will give them another visit but not impressed with food on this trip at all. Still can't believe you got rid of the cheese cubes??!!!! That's like changing the formula to Coca Cola.

My wife and I were staying in Perrysburg for a few days to celebrate our anniversary. I had read great reviews for this place and we were not disappointed. We got the beer cheese dip and split that days special, 2 coney dogs and fries. Our waitress was great and was knowledgable on the beers and knew what to recommend based on my tastes. The food was amazing and we left with leftovers and full bellies. We will definitely be coming back if we ever visit the area again!

  • Jeff P.

Been here a few times and enjoy it! Found in Downtown Perrysburg it offers a outside patio for the warmer weather. They have a good beer selection and I enjoy the Gyro Sausage very much (just wish it was a little larger). I know you can order food online as well but I've never personally tried it. There is some parking available in the back as well incase you can't find a spot on the street. I will definitely be returning again.

Next state on our trip was Ohio. We were staying with a friend in Toledo. After giving us the grand tour, she took us over to Swig. What a treat! First, it's in a cute little street with several other shops up and down the row. It was late and we were on a food and beer mission, but I imagine this would be a nice place to walk around otherwise. We got to Swig just a little bit before they closed, but they were super nice and we didn't feel rushed. GREAT beer selection, especially since they had New Holland Dragon's Milk on tap - possibly my favorite beer ever. Food was good and we all split the scotch eggs. Interesting food item to try but glad I was sharing them with friends. They weren't too heavy, but I'm not sure I would want to have both eggs by myself. Overall, good experience. Would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a good beer list and hearty food.

    (4)
  • Jeff N.

I have yet to find a flaw with Swig, except perhaps I wished they had more than 2-3 dozen exotic beer choices daily and would like to see a larger menu because literally everything is good and there is nothing I haven't tried. I swear I am unrelated to the owners or management - just a big fan!

  • William B.

I wish there was room for more than 5 stars. One of the rare places in the world where you could have Helen Keller order for you. Everything is amazing, but please start with the BLT.

    (5)
  • Amy W.

Had the Smoked, Cured and Curious charcuterie platter and the Duck Reuben, both were delicious. The duck was perfectly cooked and super tender. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed. Great music with an eclectic crowd. Would come back if we lived closer.

  • Athreya R.

This place has everything I love; pub food, craft beers and an outdoor patio for summer evenings! Its a fantastic place to just relax with friends and have a nice dinner or lunch. And beer selection was nothing to scoff about. Overall; its a place that I would highly recommend but the only thing I wouldn't suggest was to hire that awful musician again; he was the reason we moved out to the patio.

  • Ed G.

First of all, I am 53 years old and I love SWIG!!! I love the food, I love the service, I love the live music and most of all I love the bacon!! We were hooked the minute our server Taylor smiled and said hello. My daughter and I sought this restaurant out after a couple of previous reviews dinged it for the exact same things that I love. If it is too loud, you are too old and 53 is not old!! Carry on Tony and gang! We will see you next time!!

  • Allen L.

Stopped in for a quick lunch late on a Saturday - had an andouille sausage and a glass of Stella (on tap). It was great. The sausage was perfect - nice snap - not overly salted. I can't wait to go back with some friends and try more of the menu.

  • Wendy F.

We went to Swig for mothers day and I have to say I was somewhat disappointed. I had the Hoagie Steak and Cheese. It was nothing special, in my opinion if your going to charge $10.00 for a sandwich it better have some wow to it. This sandwich was dry and lacked flavor. The feta dip was good but the portion was so small again for the price. A a good note the server as very attentive. Defiantly wont go back. Over priced, over rated food.

    (2)
  • Mike P.

I tried Swig again, and got much better service this time. The Scotch egg was truly outstanding. The sausage component was top notch. It comes with a delicious cranberry honey mustard dipping sauce (Swig's house dressing, as per my waitress) and a mini salad. Awesome appetizer. The Chicago dog must have just finished swimming in cold water, because its wiener was, in a word, tiny. You don't get much for $3.50, but the flavor was very good. The relish was really tasty. The draught beer selection still kicks ass. All in all, Swig earns a 4th star.

  • Kelsey V.

My favorite bar in Toledo. The choice of beer is outstanding, the servers are typically well versed on their drinks and can usually suggest something nice. I always make sure to get an order of the Hot Feta Dip! The live music is never overbearing or too loud, very pleasant.

  • Joe G.

This place is one of my favorite restaurants in all of Northwest Ohio. The food is delicious and well priced. They have one of the best craft beer selections. It's always changing with new and interesting craft beers from around the country. These beers can be kind of pricey. Free trivia night is on Mondays at 9 and it's really fun.

  • Mike M.

Great beer, great food, great atmosphere, great service and great music. My go-to.

    (5)
  • Amy N.

Bottom line: Carnivore-friendly. Go for the appetizers and selection of hot dogs and sausages. Recommend starting off with the beer cheese and pretzels. The cheese is mild and more importantly there's a good cheese to pretzel ratio. You know, when you run out of cheese before the pretzels are half eaten? We've all been there. Not a problem at Swig! The Cleveland dog was my favorite, although its tempting to try the Chicago as well (see photo). For a Chicago frequenter such as myself, it's hard to find a good dog around here. Theirs helps take care of my Windy City craving. HIGHLY recommend the duck reuben sammich as well (see photo). The duck meat slices were tender and the slaw was tasty, though a touch on the soggy side. Lastly: CHOCOLATE COVERED BACON SUNDAE. Just do it.

  • Beca C.

We were led astray by the previous Yelp reviews. Swig features shitty service if you are not a local. Waited over a half hour without being greeted. Had to ask for a table for two from two different servers, and were never followed up with. Watched mediocre waitstaff take their sweet time settling tabs of the patrons who were waiting to pay. Beers are over-priced, live music was too loud. Can't speak for the food as we left without being seated or eating. Do yourself a favor and go to Perry's Burgers across the street for food and to Casa Barron for cheap libations! Swig=Schwag

    (1)
  • Ben P.

Swig has one of the best-and most unique- beer selections in Toledo. Great venue for live music and sitting outside during the summer. Along with beer, they make their own sausages and hot dogs. Awesome Italian sausage, and their homemade ketchup seals the deal

  • Amanda Z.

Love this place! Went on Wednesday for the Belles event and loved it even more. The Clevelander hot dog is delicious and the Wings are to write home about. It's a good atmosphere, but the tiny space often makes it crowded.

Stopped for lunch after my son and daughter-in-law recommended it. 1. A great selection of beer - draft and bottle/cans - although they didn't have what we wanted on tap, it was available in a bottle and I'm not that big of a beer snob to say no! 2. friendly wait staff - our waitress was very genuine and helpful, we asked her what she would recommend and she told us the sausages are all house made and that she would get the sausage platter and then split the smokey Italian sandwich 3. great food! We followed our waitresses lead an ordered the sausage platter with the smokey Italian sandwich. While the sausage platter was great, both my husband and I LOVED the smokey Italian!! From the first bite, I was in LOVE! We will definitely be back the next time we're in the area! Loved it!

Well found this place on Yelp by fellow yelpers reviews..thought we'd give it a try.. Well started out with some cheese cubes and some chicken chunks for appetizers.. Very good..nice dipping sauces..we both ordered hot dogs with onion rings.. Hot dogs were Awesome..they are made in house..they had an awesome flavor.. We will def be back can't believe we haven't stopped here sooner.. Thanks Yelp for helping me find another awesome place!!

  • Sean H.

You have to try the sausage platter at least once. Also, Swig Soup should be renamed crack. I have been coming here since they opened, and there is usually about 6 months to a year between visits as I don't live in the Toledo area anymore. Every time, the food is excellent, the service is reasonable given the size of the restaurant, and the prices are pretty spot on. I would recommend giving this place a shot, if for no other reason than the beer selection and the bacon sundae. Consistency in a restaurant is a great thing and Swig consistently delivers.

Went to swig tonight for the first time and had a mixed experience . We got seated right away even though it was busy but then waited 15-20 mins to be waited on It took another 10 minutes to get are beer and another 10 mins to get are order so we're about 40 minutes in just ordering are waiter was very friendly and helpful but seemed overwhelmed with his tables . We ordered a app fried cheese balls which came quickly and was really good it only took 15 minutes for are food I ordered a chicken Frank with cheese in the middle wrapped in bacon it was good my Wife had a hot dog which was rubbery and hard to bit into she wasn't happy And she has had fresh made hotdogs before so natural casings wasn't a swig has a a great selection of beer with mostly fair prices

What can I say? I love this place! I've been coming to Swig almost like clock work for the better part of two years, and I haven't grown tired of it yet. It's a pub that lives up to the description in the name - 'Charcuterie and Suds for the Curious' - having an exceptional variety of both. Swig always has live music seven days a week, and the bands play tunes ranging from indie/acoustic to blues. Very rarely have I been disappointed with the entertainment. Having an awesome selection of draught beers, they also carry some standard cheap domestics for people who prefer the more run of the mill. I believe a glass of Bud goes for something like $2.50. I always receive prompt and courteous service when I'm at Swig - Ashley and Elo rock! The rest of the staff are super cool as well; no matter how busy it gets they still greet you with a smile. It's always clean inside, and during the summer they offer undercover al fresco. I seriously don't know of any other place like Swig in the Toledo area. It's THE 'go to' place if you have an appreciation for excellent craft beers and want something other than chicken wings to eat. Swig is deserving of all the five stars I'm giving it.

My fiancé and I ate here for our anniversary. The food was delicious, and the service was great. We would definitely visit again!!

Actually try to eat here more often than we do. Enjoy the food and the sauces are great, although the quality of the fries (both regular and sweet potato) are inconsistent: sometimes perfect, sometimes soggy with oil and sometimes grossly over salted. The real problem is getting seated. It's a small place, which makes it great, but getting a table is chaotic and the wait staff is generally clueless and unwilling to help. If you are more than a party of 2, it's a crap shoot. Too bad, because it's local and we enjoy patronizing local establishments.

First "big move" from the Windy City Chicago to quaint, historic city of Perrysburg, and I am a fan of the first bar I hit up. That is good news, my friends! I went to catch a basketball game. I can't seem to remember who was playing but I do remember having a good time! Although, I do remember shaking my head at the guy next to me who told me he was a Lakers fan. I LOVE their constantly changing beers on tap. And not just "whatever" beers...but good beers...for "beer snobs" such as myself. Like Bells Oberon, Lagunitas, Kwak and Fin Du Monde just to name a few. "Like" them on Facebook if you want to keep up with their current beer list since it's not in the website. I can't say much about the food since I just came for 3-10 beers on a random Thursday night but I am definitely excited to try some of their stuff out, and sit in their outside patio area. Specifically would love to try the hot dogs that they make "in-house" and their reverse wings (chicken wings drenched in blue cheese served with a side of hot sauce...HUH-WHAT?!). Helllooooooooooooooo Perrysburg.

Who does not love craft beer and craft dogs! The hot dogs were just as you would imagine: crisp, flavorful, and great tasting. The best part was the order of Frankenstein wings -OMG is an understatement. And of course the craft beer selection is just awesome. From session beers to major mouthfilling brews! Room for improvement: Please use fresh bakery buns with those awesome dogs! I think there is a local bakery across the street? And use fresh shredded cheese, not the potato starch coated shreds from the store. Your dogs deserve better!

Went for an impromptu lunch date on a Monday afternoon and I enjoyed it! My boyfriend and I each got a small beer (goose island Matilda and bells Oberon) which were both good, but I suspect their beer may be too warm... I also watch a lot of Bar Rescue so I could be wrong about their beer temp haha. But regardless, we were impressed with the beer tap selection! Woulda had more beer if it weren't 1:30 on a Monday haha. As for the food, it all sounded so good, fresh, and unique! I literally just moved to Perrysburg from Chicago, so I was intrigued by the "Chicago" hotdog. However, I am saving that for another day. What we did get were the reversed wings and the fresh fries. I got these based on past reviews and was not disappointed! The reversed wings (chicken wings covered in blue cheese sauce with buffalo sauce on the side!) were so good and came out piping hot. I couldn't get enough - yum! And I thought they were pretty unique! The fries were less unique but still good! The special ketchup wasn't that great in my opinion, but I appreciate the diversity in condiments. Overall, we were pleased with our spontaneous first visit. The service was nothing special, but it was all we needed. Needless to say, I'll be back and soon!

My wife and I were staying in Toledo after a day at the zoo, and our hotel recommended this place. We stopped in and was very pleased with the casual atmosphere, outdoor seating and the large beer choices. We were slightly disapointed there wasn't any happy hour special going on, but when you're as busy as they were on a Thursday, they probably don't have to. Minus 1 star for that... but still a good setting overall. As for the food, I definitely liked my Chicago Italian Beef, as it was juicy and delicious... the only drawback was the jardinare was a little more spicy than I was used to, if you don't like jalapeno's, definitely get it on the side. My wife's Reuben was kind of falling apart and the meat was sparse, so she sent it back. She got a Sal's Own Italian deli meat sandwich minus the jardinaire, and the manager was gracious enough to take off the Reuben from our bill. The Sal's Own was fantastic-the italian meats were meaty and just salty enough and I definitely wanted more than 1 bite. Also, the fries were hot and crispy and they reminded me of Five Guys, but Swig's spicy ketchup is definitely a bonus. Overall, my wife and I were pleased with our visit- although we're not in the area that often, if we end up replicating our trip to the zoo and casino again, we would definitely consider coming back as I wanted to try out the sausages! Too bad there isn't a sister place in Michigan.

My friends and I have been on a journey through the greater Toledo area looking for good bars to frequent and for several months, it's been a futile search among mediocre to crappy bars but last night I think we have found the place. The atmosphere is fantastic, laid back, casual, and very open. The feel when walking in is reminiscent of a really hip bar in a one of the big cities of the US but the patrons and the especially the bartenders are extremely down to earth and ready to help. In fact, that's what made this place stand out the most - the bar tenders and even the manager was totally willing to come out and help us even while we were indecisive over what shot we were going to take. The place is better known for their amazing beer selection but my friends and I were doing liquor that night and wanted to keep it going. Despite their obvious forte, the liquor selection was good (not very extensive, but good) and had Goldschlager. I don't know if that's necessarily a selling point but it brought me back to another time. Our bartender, Ashley, was extremely helpful and she wasn't at all nonplussed about us taking our time deciding and offered a number of suggestions (many of which sounded good and I'll be back for them) and never made us feel like we were taking her precious time. Tl;dr, probably some of the best bar staff in all of NW Ohio.

One of my favorite handouts! The food is AMAZING and I capitalized that for a reason, it is so fresh and the different dishes set it apart from any other restaurant in the area!

Stopped out at Swig for a bite to eat after a long drive. Was very excited to see this place busy! Walked in, and was thoroughly impressed with the atmosphere! My girlfriend and I took a seat at the bar, and were pleased to see the amount of beer on tap! Great start for two former bartenders looking to taste some local brews, since we are not at all from the area! After about 5 minutes of us sitting there, the bartender finally decided to take some time off from chatting with her friends to ask us if we wanted a drink. We had a few questions about local beers, since we are big beer drinkers, and the response we got was one of confusion and annoyance. I don't believe this bartender knew a single thing about beer, which if she fessed up to it, we would have been fine guessing, but instead she hurried away and came back with two samples. Not two individual samples because there were two of us, but samples of two different beers that we were supposed to share, even though my friend is sick. Both beers were horrendous! We finally each just got a yuengling, since we were both familiar with it. I don't know if the keg was old or the glasses were dirty, but it was a terrible beer. Finally the bartender came back and took our order. Swig soup and some chicken "chunks" for my friend, and the blt for myself. The soup came out first. Have you ever had hamburger helper before? This soup was the same exact thing as hamburger helper without the noodles. Gross. The chicken "chunks" (which I assumed were boneless chicken wings, but when I asked the bartender, she didn't really seem to know what they were...) were diced up pieces of chicken, fried, with some sauce. Not really crispy, but who the hell knows what a "chunk" is supposed to be anyway. The blt was equally unimpressive. The bacon was so crunchy, I'm lucky I didn't lose a tooth, and it was so greasy I wound up taking the bacon off of the second half of the sandwich and eating it that way. The fries were cold, and while the menu said they had home made ketchup, I was displeased with the bottle of Heinz that was placed in front of me. The entire time we were here the bartender looked and sounded angry that she had to serve us. We all have our bad days in the service industry, but really expected more from swig, given the high ratings they have received. While the patio and decor were pleasant, the combination of terrible beer, food, and service will only give this place a single star. As two travelers just looking to get a little taste of some local flavors, I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Highly recommend the Hot Feta Dip and Sweet BBQ Wings. Every time I have been there they've had interesting Specials if you're feeling adventurous. I also love that they let you try samples of beer before you buy one. The prices are reasonable and I always love to support a local business!

Went there for the first time last Saturday night and the place was busy with great entertainment, The food at Swigs and entertainment was top notch, Good selection of beers. However the wait staff and bartender need to be more professional when they make a mistake. Leaving the bar to come Get in a customers face, and arguing with their customers over wrong drinks, then trying to charge for the mistake, is a big no Going back, and not a referral of this business. This review comes for someone who was not drinking.

  • Virginia S.

Stopped here for lunch as we like to support local business and also heard good things about Swig. What a total disappointment. Ordered Chicago dog which looked nothing like the picture on here. It was a total mess and slathered with mustard. This does not come with anything as a side...not a chip not a pickle, nothing. So I ordered a side salad which consisted of lettuce tomato, sprinkle of cheese and jalapenos..... all for $3.75 extra!!! Really???!!! For a side salad! My companion had the corned beef Reuben which was the worst he's ever had. It was totally dry with no sauce/dressing on it to be found. The fries with it were overcooked, limp and probably had been sitting under a heat lamp. Add to that, iced tea for over $2.00 and no offer of refills. Service was so bad we saw people leave. I guess if you want a drink with friends, go, but don't do lunch or dinner for sure. This was our first and last time in this place.

I go here to satisfy some of my Chicago cravings. The Chicago style hotdog is pretty good but it would be great if they would steam the bun. This is a must on any authentic Chicago style hotdog but still good. The Italian beef sandwich is very good as well and I love the giardiniera. It your a fan of places like Portillo's in Chicago, this will hit the spot until your next visit to the Windy City.

I went to Swig for the second time and I don't remember it being this tasty the first time I tried it a year or so ago. The hot feta dip was delicious! I would order that app every time, although next time I'd like to try the beer cheese dip because that looked equally as tasty. The Coney frank was perfect in my opinion, and really gives Rudy's and Packo's some competition. My boyfriend ordered the Cleveland and the Fresh Kielbasa which he is still ranting and raving about. We split some sweet potato fries which were much better than fresh cut fries I had the first time I dined there. Moreover, the ambiance of the restaurant is a great fit for downtown Perrysburg. There was live music, Tigers baseball on TV and a hip crowd that kept the atmosphere buoyant.

I enjoyed a fantastic Duck Ruben. The smoked duck was flavorful and moist. The homemade catsup had a nice tang and wasn't runny. Even though it was busy we were served drinks while waiting for our table. Definitely a place to visit. Lots of tasty looking dishes on the menu.

Great local place for some great food and even better craft brews! In my experience, the waitstaff has always been very accommodating. Also - check out the live local music when they have it. Swig is a top pick for my friends and I when wanting to have a casual hangout. Highly recommended!! Delicious Chocolate Covered Bacon Sundae as well! :)

Swig is the place to go for a cold craft brew and some grub. Taps are changed out often and many great breweries are often featured. The food is incredible and the bartenders are very helpful. I recommend the BLT and hot feta dip... Raz chipotle sauce for wings is also a go! My only complaint is the space! A huge patio but small, overpacked interior which often has live music making it very hard to talk to anyone. Always bathroom lines and the bathrooms are big enough to potentially have two stalls. Swig we love you please expand.

In House Sausage = To Die For. My favorite is the andouille. Additional amazing items: scotch egg, hot feta dip, Ruben, butter burger, beef sammich, and the fries. Also, I have had a lot of Micro Brews and they always have at least one or two that I never heard of. I intend to try everything on the menu.

I will start by saying the food and atmosphere was wonderful. Now the waitress however was a completely different story. She was rude from the beginning, and I really don't think I will ever go back. Avoid Mondays during lunch.

Regretted driving all the way over on this side of town to try this. Seems like a local hang out spot for a quick beer. The food is nothing to special and over priced for what they are giving.

  • Troy W.

Best place in town to get those rare beers on tap. Sure you might be able to find the beer it's self in Andersons but here you can get it on tap, as it's meant to be enjoyed. The brewer take over nights are real nice! They also have a nice selection in the beer cooler if you don't see what you like on tap. Beer snobs, this place is for you. Menu has a great selection! My favorites are the horseradish cheese cubes and the duck ruben. Leave yourself some room and try the chocolate covered bacon ice cream! The in-house made meats are another reason to give Swig a try.

You really can't go wrong with a visit to Swig. It all starts with the location of downtown Perrysburg, follow that up with a unique menu, fair price, quality brews on tap, live music, etc. I've tackled many of their hot dogs and all of them have been delicious and unique. It's places like this the Toledo area needs more of, in my opinion. If you live in Toledo and gripe about yet another chain restaurant opening up instead of the truly unique in the area, then this place needs to jump to the top of your list...toot sweet. Having said that, you'll probably decide to go to Packo's or Rudy's, because, you know, it's easy, *etc. --*MY etc. could've turned into a bashing Toledo rant, but i digressed. This is progress, Jason. Great job!

Stopped by to watch GAME 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Had a Coney. This was my very first one - so I can't really compare - but I did enjoy. Ordered some wings - HOT BBQ. The wings were VERY good - they seem to know what they are doing with the wings - so kudos. They have a good selection of beers. I would return and recommend this place for a beer, wings, whatever. My only (very minute) complaint is that I was not made aware of the food specials.

After seeing their wide selection of hot dogs my husband couldn't wait to try Swig. Sadly, it left something to be desired. We shared a bowl of the Swig soup, which was delicious and the best part of our meal. I ordered onion rings and two hot dogs, a Santa Fe and a build-your-own Frank. The onion rings were average, but for $3.99 I would expect more than 6. The Santa Fe was a little dry. On the build your own they forgot one of my four ingredients, so I had to ask for a side of chipotle ketchup. My husband ordered an Andouille Sausage, Chicago Dog, and sweet potato fries. He really enjoyed the Andouille sausage, but found the rest lacking. The sweet potato fries were soggy and bland and he much prefers Sonic's Chicago Dog to Swig's. If we go back, we will stick to the Swig soup and the sausages.

I'm a Toledo native and I moved to Columbus about 15 years ago. I adore this place. I think I come here every time I'm in town. The beer selection is terrific and the prices are resonable. Beware you may have to wait and its self seating. Since they have live music and great drinks people tend to hang out.

    (5)
  • Tasha P.

Food is good (get the hot feta dip- but don't ask for more green peppers because you will be charged $1 for a small cup). Beer selection is also good and rotates on a regular basis. Small place and no real seating system. That is the basis of the three star review. We called ahead to try to reserve seating and were told that there was no wait. When we got there no tables were available and we were told that there is not seating system. We sat at the bar to wait for friends to show up and noticed a table opening up. Great! Went to sit down and was told that it was actually reserved for another group. What? We got the next table that opened up but it was a very confusing process made all the more troublesome by the cramped standing quarters along the wall. Would I go back? Yes. Would I go out of my way to go there? Probably not.

Swig is my goto place for good beer & and dogs. They make some terrific sausages in house. I'd say my favorite is the andouille. It's got a little kick, and is served topped with coleslaw to mellow out the heat. The fries are a little hit & miss. Most of the time they're damn near perfect, but occasionally they're a little limp. The wings are great, too. They're big, meaty chicken wings that make you wonder why you'd ever go back to the chain place again. Beer selection here is the best in NW Ohio. The 20 taps frequently change, so there is always something new to try. There is a cooler with a wide range of bottles, and they've just added a beer engine. Of course, you can always drink a bud light or pbr if you're so inclined. It's a casual place with good bartenders and it's own slant on dogs and barfood. I really like it!

This was my first time here. It was Seat Yourself which meant that we had to hover awkwardly around a party who was wrapping up their dinner and then race to sit down before another group snagged the table. The food was pretty solid. Hot feta dip was the best thing we ordered.

We are from out of town and picked this place due to Yelp reviews. I am repaying Yelp with a wonderful rating. We split the Chicago and Cleveland Franks, and the chocolate covered bacon sundae. It was an awesome experience with efficient survive. If I lived here, I would probably be a regular.

  • Kat B.

Cheese cubes and the fries are great. main dishes are hit or miss, but the ones that are a hit are great. Staff is allways nice. seating can be tricky when its busy. prices are kinda high but everything is made fresh in house including sauces.

I wanted to like Swig. Atmosphere is comfortable, servers seem competent. Beer list terrific and the local brew my server suggested was good. But the food left a lot to be desired. Gyro Sausage Sandwich a big disappointment -- the sausage was under-seasoned and tiny -- the dominant taste was the [bland] white bun. Sweet potato fries had good taste, but were oily, tepid, and limp. I hope they improve the kitchen -- the place has potential.

  • Ashley S.

Great location, average menu and a good ad steady line up for live music. Good selection of craft beers on tap too! I think some of their menu items are over- priced for example a hot dog $4.

  • Lindsay L.

We were excited after seeing all of the unique hot dogs while walking downtown. As much as we enjoyed the hot dogs...the sweet potato fries were awful, shriveled and burnt and 6 onion rings for $4 is crazy.

  • Andrew S.

This is my favorite place in the area. It's hard to find a restaurant in the US that does everything from scratch. I heard the only thing not made from scratch is the bread...and that's only because there's not enough room. The food is phenomenal; the people are great; and the beer selection is as wonderful as it is dynamic. If someone had to say something bad, it would only be that this place has such a great following, that it's sometimes difficult to get a seat. But, what do you expect with a kick-@ss place such as this? That's why I'm there most every week. Keep up the great work Tony and crew!

Small but cozy with lots of different beers on the rotating tap. Food was good and I had a really good time listening to the band. Will be back when we are in town again!

Excellent homemade dogs, not-great sweet potato fries (soggy, shriveled up). Awesome beer selection. There is always great live music, but, sadly, that also makes it hard to have a conversation in there. We avoid this place when going out with friends, because you have to yell. It's too bad, because it is a fun place.

Swig is unique, unpretentious and serves great food and beers. I discovered Swig last Christmas holiday when I was visiting from Austin, TX. After my boyfriend (a Perrysburg native) picked me up at the airport, the first place he took me to was Swig. I ordered a Bells microbrew (delish) and a truly fresh, perfectly salty and juicy bratwurst. Swig claims their meats to be hand ground at the restaurant, and you can tell . Calling it a charcuterie may be more marketing than accurate of the types of charcuteries in France, but all the same - they do hand grind their meats in house and the restaurant has a very welcoming and fun atmosphere. It also has TVs for sports watching, for those who like that. The atmosphere was nice, the food was great, the beer unique. I would venture to say it's even romantic :) I hope Swig sticks around for a long time.

Great beer selection! This is the reason to come here in my opinion. They have lots of craft brews on tap and it bottles, and they rotate everything so there's something new to try every time. The food they have they make well, and it's pretty good. However, they have a very limited selection on the menu. If you don't want some sort of wings/bbq meat sandwich, there's not really anything else you can order. Also, it's pretty crowded all the time, but that can make for a fun party/group atmosphere.

  • N M.

A hang-out restaurant with a bar. The daily specials really help out, but everything here is home made. The wings are just as good as your favorite chain (and if you don't like any of the big chains, then try them anyway), the fish and chips were no different than anyone else's. The outdoor seating and bar really help add a layer to the place. The Scottish egg and sausages will be ordered on my next visit. There were a few things on the menu that will cause me to return. Definitely a Thursday 6PM type of restaurant, you can't go wrong.

I was determined to stop at Swigs on my to or from Madison WI because of the combination of two gamewinners: a great selection of craft beer on tap and homemade charcuterie and sausages. We got to have dinner there on the way back to NY and it was fine, fine, fine. We sat outside, got the assorted charcuterie appetizer and sausage combos and every single item from the corned duck to the mortadella to the andouille was really good and a breed apart from the supermarket/deli stuff we have to settle for much of the time. I also shared a hot dog with my pooch, and we will both attest to the beefy goodness. Many really good and interesting accompaniments, condiments, etc., too. Sadly, I was incapacitated food-wise by dessert time and unable to get the Chocolate Covered Bacon Sundae. Next time, and there will be a next time.

Great selection of Micro-brews!!! Some of the beers are on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. The food is also good and reasonably priced. I suggest the fish and chips, huge portions for a good price. Great place to stop for lunch or grab a beer with friends.

5 Stars for being in Perrysburg, having good beer, and making me some good, fun food! Have been there twice now and love their hand cut fries and sweet potato fries including the ginger-infused dip! In addition, I've had their pulled pork sandwich, which was excellent, as well as their chicago-style hot dog - another winner. I'm new to the area from NYC and was very pleasantly surprised to find something a little outside of the box and yummy in my new town.

Love it! This place makes all their own sausages and brats in house. I've had about 4-5 different ones and they've all been an A+. Also, the fries are good along with their special ketchup.

Food was fairly good, but prices are high for what amounts to a hot dog & fries. Service was ok, but not that impressive. Good beer selection. Very small & cramped, especially on a weekend night.
