Amazing doritos in bagel sandwich. Great college bagel place.

The epitome of a hole-in-the-wall, college town eatery - tiny inside, with little to no seating, usually packed with students - but worth putting up with all of the above! The menu is overwhelming - when it comes down to it, just pick SOMETHING - anything - or ask what their most popular items are - you really can't go wrong whatever you choose. Hot, filling, steamy, melted bagel sandwiches - unique and delicious. I usually get The Chia (vegetarian) or Blonde Bombshell (turkey). The menu items are posted all over the walls, but there is usually a paper menu floating around - grab it and stake out a corner to read it if there's no room to move in there.

Doubters beware: the steamed bagel really is a surprisingly tasty thing. Yes, the menu is overwhelming, and on weekend mornings the place is beset by folks who have just stumbled out of either end of their embarrassing nights from the night before, but so be it.

I'm pretty sure that Tonya Harding wouldn't have such a bad rap if more people tried the bagel sandwich named after her. Turkey, bacon, ham, colby and Swiss all melted into a gooey, delicious bagel sandwich? I bet even Nancy Kerrigan would like it ! B&D gets super crowded late at night. Everyone wants the delicious bagel sandwiches. Best to send a friend in with multiple sandwich orders.

This place is effing fantastic! The random sandwiches, each on their own individual piece of paper, with crazy local names, strewn all over the walls. The great friendly student staff. The entertaining late night, after bars crowd. The delicious steamed bagel sandwiches in what seems like over 100 varities. Bagel and Deli rules. FYI - They have a sister store in Chicago: yelp.com/biz/vOEqVTBwUek…

Bagel & Deli is my absolute FAVORITE place in the world to get an amazing bagel sandwich. I seriously had never heard of "steamed bagels" before I came to Miami for camp every summer (for 7 years). I am willing to fly back to oxford just to get a bagel & deli sandwich (I live in connecticut!). I am so pissed that I can't find a similar bagel shop around the nyc/ct area. I don't even have a favorite bagel because they are all so amazing. Perhaps the Tonya Harding? Or it could be Sarah's Secret! What ever it is, it's absolutely fantastic. Someone please open a bagel & deli in the nyc area!

I dont like bagels but I love the bagel sandwiches! Great food and a great selection. Go Tonya Harding club!

Came with some Miami U alums for a trip down memory lane. The bagel I had, the Xanadu, was messy and delicious. The menu is cheeky and very democratic--that the restaurant is willing to make a sandwich that you design and name is pretty neat, and I can imagine myself wiling away several hours trying to create something worthy of the board. However, the place doesn't come without some cons: namely, the service. We waited in line FOREVER--for a bagel sandwich!! As much as some alums believe they're transcendent, they aren't really. I could handle the wait if they hadn't misused their staff so badly. There were three people behind the counter: two people making sandwiches, and one person asking if we'd paid. Very inefficient. Secondly, there is no bathroom. Now, I understand that having a public bathroom at 2:00am is gross, but come on. We went at noon, and couldn't pee after finishing the drink. There is a drink size called "THE BEDWETTER"--are you seriously expected just to wet the bed. That's uncivil. Finally, apparently B&D is known for selling loosie cigarettes (which I would have loved when I was in college and still smoking...) The guy behind the counter sold one, and didn't say boo when the customer lit up in the shop and blew smoke before leaving. Yuck. However, focusing on the good....that was a pretty killer sandwich.

Get the Tanya Harding. We drove 115 miles round trip to see the campus where Paul Ryan went (god help us all if Romney wins) and get a GREAT sandwich. The only problem I had was the young chubby blonde college student who looked like he hadnt washed in a few days took our money and didn't ring up our purchases. You know that money went right into his pockets. This owner must be getting robbed blind.

Steamed gunk on a steamed gunky bagel. Best for hungover undergraduates or drunk alums without any culinary sense, trying to relive the glory days. Sorry to be so cruel, but there are better sandwich options in Oxford. But it does have a loyal clientele. Maybe I'm missing something?

As an alum, there's a list of places that I miss most in Oxford, and Bagel n' Deli is definitely within the top 5. Plus, it's a late-night staple where you learn the art of squeezing your way to the front. My favorites would have to be Messy Katie and Banana Surprise. I've visited other college towns where they claim their bagel shop is the best, and every time-- I leave disappointed and wanting Bagel n' Deli.

I know I know B&D is the s*$% and all, but... Ok so first, it has plenty to love. Its independently owned and its staff definitely represent the anti-narrative of Miami University. They have a wall full of unique and cleverly named sandwiches and if you don't like something from those 50 or so, name what you want and see if they can make it. 5 star atmosphere. So two problems, the first is just that it seems to take forrr evvv errrrr to get out of there. I always feel like I should bring a book to pass the time. I know they are a 'relaxed' group, but i think shaving like 15% off the wait would make a big difference. The other thing, gasp, is that the sandwiches are just pretty good. They are filling, and are fresh and made to order, good things indeed. But they are also steamed as a cooking method, which makes the sandwiches a little chewy and a little soggy. Maybe a lot soggy, they're usually dripping by the time you open the foil wrap to chow down. Maybe some people really like that, but I don't. I think if they had an option to grill or broil it would help a lot. I liked it enough to come back, but always wished it were something more. (oh, ps, killer after parties)

  • JJ S.

A hometown favorite, no trip to Miami University would be complete without a trip to B&D. It's definitely a dive (it even has bar style service) but the food is unique and as good as sandwiches get. There are over 80 sandwiches on the menu (created by students and alum on decorated sheets of white paper) which have all been time tested for satisfaction. Each sandwich on the menu has gone through a trial period up on the wall, and only the popular ones stick. And if for some reason you can't find something to suit your fancy, you can custom make a bagel using any ingredient imaginable, including their delicious home made BBQ sauce.

Oh, my lord, the China Cat Sunflower. I've made my own hodge-podge version of it under the broiler, shared it with people and watched them lose their minds just like I did when I first tried the real thing seven or eight years ago. This is the first place I go whenever I make it across the state line nowadays. Never been brave enough to try Senor Poopy Pants.

Mmmmm. Yum. Best bagel shop on the planet. I have never had a bagel sandwich this good. It actually stands the test of time! Every time we go back for a visit we stop and eat here and yeah, it's really that good.

i miss college. i miss walking down the stairs from top deck and proceeding directly to b&d for my late night eats. i miss waking up the next morning with a cream cheesy, shredded lettucey piece of crupled tinfoil in my bed. the good old days. i get (got...when will i ever be back in oxford) the wam-o. most people get the mr. turkey. boring. chia bagel is also excellent. note to non-miamians: these bagels are not bagels. well i mean they're bagels, but they're not bagel bagels. they're STEAMED bagel sandwiches. they put these puppies in steamers so the end result is hot, melty goodness. in a late-night fight between a skyline 3-way and a bagel and deli bagel, who do you think wins?

  • Tom F.

I don't know if there's anything to say about B&D that hasn't already been said, but suffice to say this place is second to none; definitely one of the things I miss most about my time in Oxford. The Dank & Eggs was my regular, but there're plenty of other things to try...If all else fails, try to make something up. I never liked packing into this place at night, but it was in regular lunch rotation. A reasonable excuse for a trip through Oxford.

Yay, Bagel & Deli! I love this teeny tiny bagel shop. It almost seems like there are more sandwiches available than the store has room for. I no longer live in Oxford, but whenever I'm back visiting the family, I make sure to stop by Bagel & Deli for a super-tasty sandwich. In sum: lots of choices as well as pre-selected tasty combinations, all at great price in a store with tons of character. (EDIT: I should note that the Marx Bagels the shop uses are real bagels, unlike the fluffy rolls in the shape of a bagel one usually finds outside the New York area.)

  • Al P.

God awful, soggy bagels! Steamed bagels? I don't know why this place is so popular. The food is REALLY bad. I guess some students like the prices, but to be honest with you, I would not eat this crap again - even if they gave it away!

Blonde Bombshell. The only time they disappointed was when I got a dime IN my sandwich. Not sure what that's supposed to mean. 2am will never be the same without it.

STEAMED BAGEL SANDWICHES. That's right and don't be afraid. The initial thought is that these things will be a soggy mess instead you get.... Hot Luvin in tin foil. The shop (you can't call it a restaurant because there is one tiny table on the back wall intended to hold college kids passing out) is small and gets very crowded around midnight and at 2 am it's an absolute zoo. Those looking for lunch or dinner or even breakfast it's very easy to get some grub. The menu is one to marvel at for 10 minutes easily with names like The Letterman, Chia Bagel, and Missy's Bloodbath. For those with ADD pieces of 8x11 construction paper represent each item and for those who need something easier they have one big sheet. My favorite, the Boot-N-Rally, was taken off of the menu (which they do when the bagel doesn't become popular anymore) but to my surprise and delight, Gary still works there from when I went to college and made the bagel exactly as we both remembered it. I'm telling you there aren't many sandwiches that I'd drive an hour out of my way for but for Bagel and Deli there are exceptions. My last trip there my girlfriend asked me to bring home a bagel or two although we both knew they would get cold in the 5 hour drive and they may or may not make it due to my hunger.

If you're in Oxford, home of Miami U, ask what they would rather be doing with a girl from Eaton than something else they would be doing with a girl from Dayton (nearby towns). It's a sick little pun that always puts a smile on my face. Or you may be able to figure it out on your own. While you work on that, head over here and get a bagel sandwich. They have this awesome little steamer machine that they put the bagels in, or maybe it's a toaster of some sort, but DAYUM it does a nice thing to a bagel. I don't remember what my favorite is called but it involves a lot of veggies and cream cheese. If you're in this corner of Ohio

Best bagel ever. No matter what you get, you will not be disappointed. Bagel & Deli and I got in a toxic relationship my freshman year at Miami. By toxic I mean that I was a regular customer every Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning at 2:30 a.m. And by regular customer, I mean that they sometimes had my bagel ready for me before I even got there. You name a bagel, I've had it. The Messy Katie, Crunch n' Munch, and Miami Bagels are my favorites. The Messy Katie is messy, but delicious. The Crunch n' Munch is crunchy (with a layer of doritos chips inside). And the Miami Bagel is classic and simple (blueberry bagel, cream cheese, and cinnamon sugar-a.k.a. the perfect breakfast). The difference between BandD and other bagel shops: bagel steam machines. And, yes, these things are very hot in case you were wondering. And the sweatshirts are the softest. A must have for any Oxford visit. Any time of the day.

Best. Bagelshop. Ever. Hands down. My favorite has always been the Tonya Harding Club. It's a four meat and cheese blend of bacony goodness. Late night drunk dining has never been the same since leaving Oxford. It's always perfect to help cure a hangover. For those Miamians, or Miami visitors, that are in Chicago, please check out the Chiago Bagel Authority at Sheffield and Armitage. It was opened by the same folks that own B&D and has many of the same sandwichs.

Definitely one of the best lunch / late-night stops in ROXFORD. I loved the Kentucky Bluegrass, the Wham-O... hmm, can't remember the rest! The steamers just make this place... the bagels are just so delicious and hands-down the best local late-night joint. I remember stories of people hiding in their freezers during the 98 riots! It's also kind of like a hippie indie fraternity for the employees. The people make this place. And they used to always hook me up! Ned runs a tight shop, support the man!

This is one of those small town shops that sticks to your memory banks like a leech. A delicious, salty leech. Even though I graduated years ago, I still revisit this bagel shop every time I am in town (for whatever event has drawn me there) Bagel & Deli is a go-to for late night munchies. While in school at Miami, I ate here at least twice a week. Jimmy John's, Belltower and during my fifth year Pita Pit were other staples in my late-late-night diet. The first thing you will notice about Bagel & Deli is that they are always busy. It is a small, hectic shop that usually has 10-15 hungry college students waiting to satisfy their beer-induced cravings. The next thing you will notice is their menu. The menu is not a traditional menu but instead looks like the wall of a kindergarten room. 8x11 pieces of paper adorn the wall behind the counter. Most bagel creations have fun/creative/raunchy names and have been created by college students throughout the years. Each creation has a colored pencil or marker drawing and a description of the bagel. My favorites are the Messy Katie and Salty Hor. The Messy Katie has cream cheese and some other stuff. I don't care what the other stuff is because when I order this I really just want something with cream cheese. The Salty Hor is salty meat and cheese. There are some other ingredients but I usually order this when I am too drunk to read the signs. Are you sensing a pattern? Everything is good so it doesn't matter what ingredients are actually in the bagel. Basically, whatever your taste in food, you will find a favorite or two here. Bagels range from healthy to artery clogging. Normal to downright disgusting sounding. A unique attribute of this bagel shop is that they steam all of their bagel sandwiches. They put it together, toss it into a steamer and a few minutes later you have a gooey, messy bagel sandwich to satisfy your hunger. I actually prefer my bagels steamed now. Regular toasted bagels are just too much work for my teeth and jaw. Of course, if you don't like one of the 90+ menu options, you can have a bagel made your way. Or you could even draw your own sign and present it to the crew. If enough people order your creation, it will become a permanent menu item and provide you with the fame you have always craved. Bon Apetit! Man, now I'm hungry.

Tradition, plain and simple. If you're a student at Miami and still haven't gone to Bagel & Deli, you better change that now! I'm partial to the Tonya Harding or Blonde Bombshell myself, but you just have to go in and discover it for yourself!

As an alum, Bagel and Deli is definitely on my list of places to hit when I come back to Oxford; it is the best sandwich shop there. I am the kind of person who likes to try something new every time I go to a restaurant, and with the giant menu of creative names (a personal favorite--Donkeypunch) that would be easy, but every time I go I get the Messy Katie or the Greg-O bagel. The first time I went was as a freshman the weekend before classes started, and I was with my RA; I was scared out of my mind of the crowd of hungry college students, but I eventually learned to push my way to the front. People don't get mad; they want their bagels, too, and they understand. The bagels are steamed, and that makes them soft and chewy. I always feel like I am eating something fresh, and not prepackaged.

  • Eric W.

If there was one casual eatery I could carry in my pocket wherever I wandered in the world, it would be this. So many times I have found myself lost in an urban wilderness and wished there was a Bagel & Deli around the corner. The combination of a steamed bialy and cream cheese alone is heavenly, and that is but the beginning. Imagine layering on turkey and more cheese and sprouts and banana pepper rings and aaaaahhhh I miss it. Bagel & Deli served me well through my vegetarian years, but offers much for the meat eater as well. It is, as others have suggested, the perfect food for late nights, but that is only because it is the perfect food in general.

A bagel sandwich mecca... the best menu and after bar scene in Oxford. Always a good place to catch a bite before a late night or night-cap. My favorite bagels include Kool Jules, Afterburner w/ complimentary cigarette and The Tonya Harding Club.

  • Kari W.

Bagels are 5 star, but EXPENSIVE! $30 for 4 bagels. I'm not sure what is up with the staff at this place. They were rude and obnoxious when I attended Miami and 25 years later it still holds true. Maybe it's the bagel steam! (It was nice to see the bagel steamers had been replaced since my college days!).

  • Ashley E.

Bagel and Deli was a staple for me when I went to Miami, I only wish I lived closer so that I could visit more often. This was my first time back in 8 years and nothing had changed, which I was relieved about since so much of Uptown had. I still remembered my favorite sandwich (Blonde Bombshell) and it never tasted better. In a 12 hour span or so I ate there twice which wasn't enough. Sometimes I get Bagel and Deli cravings and there is nothing in Seattle that satisfies them :(

  • Cindie U.

A long established Oxford treat...steamed bagel sandwiches. The menu is amazing and the atmosphere is fun and fast, but be prepared to wait because there is almost always a line! This was one of my favorite places for a long time, but nowadays, townies and professionals don't seem as appreciated. I give three stars due to inconsistency. You never know what you'll get and food is never prepared the same way, due to the whims of the person behind the counter. If you're not picky, it's the place for you.

    (3)
  • Mackenzie B.

The people working there recommended the munch and crunch, they said it was the top seller. This was not a great choice, maybe it just didn't agree with my taste. The bagel was a little soggy, I think that's on purpose. I didn't really love the addition of the chips on the bagel. They honey mustard was a little too overpowering. I wanted more turkey and cheese on it! This is definitely not a fancy place, there's no public restaurant and not much room to dine. I would have this again but I would try something different :( :(

  • Cathie G.

Love the ambience and the bagels. And I'm old and only go there during the day...so I know I'm not getting the full effect... ;-)

This place is amazing. Definitely a must visit place in Oxford! There are so many different types of bagels, you can literally get whatever you're craving. Nothing beats a 3am food run like bagel and deli! Be prepared to wait if you're going late at night, but its definitely worth it.

    (5)
  • Madeline M.

Where to start with Bagel and Deli? Every time I visit Miami, I always look forward to going!! I love everything about the place. The employees are so friendly, and it's perfect for any time of the day! Whether you just woke up, are hungry midday, or are drunk late at night! The bagels are a little expensive, but well worth it. My personal favorite bagel is the Crunch'n'Munch! It's an everything bagel steamed with turkey, cheddar cheese, lettuce, ranch, honey mustard, ranch, and your chips of choice (get Cool Ranch Doritos)! Their menu has more than 50 different bagels and the employees know every single one and can take multiple orders at one time and remember everything everybody said about what to take off theirs! Great place. Oh, and all of their ingredients are always fresh!

  • Mark K.

Hm. 2 stars, edging toward one, for the service. 3 for the food. The bagels: pretty darn good, and the toppings for sandwiches were good enough. There are lots of interesting and amusing items on the menu. The service: they were training a sandwich maker and a delivery person, and the other two employees weren't doing much to help them along. Yes, you need to let them jump in and figure it out, but when there are people in line customer service comes first. We waited almost half an hour for two sandwiches, which should take, what, 5 minutes to make? They're good, but not great, and certainly not worth the hassle.

    (2)
  • Hannah P.

The unique, jam-packed bagel sandwiches here are amazingly good. Menu is categorized by meat type and you can create any combo on your own. The Crunch and Munch with Doritos and turkey is my most coveted bagel. I would have given this place 5 stars if the service was more consistent. There's always a worker or two with an attitude, especially when you order a bagel "they hate making." Usually though, service and taste are spot on. An Oxford staple, if not The Oxford staple.

I have honestly never had a worse experience at Bagel & Deli than I had today. Normally you expect marginally slow service - but that's because there are throngs of drunk frat stars and white girls wasted pushing and shoving to get their hands on a steamed bagel loaded with calories. Not today. It was 1 p.m. and the only guests were a couple of prospective students with their parents ordering bagels for lunch. Anyway, I came to order bagels (which btw I was getting for my friends parents) and one of the employees asked if I had paid yet. I replied that I hadn't, and in fact I still needed to order. She rolled her eyes and scoffed at me and went to attend to other guests. After 10 minutes or so of standing around, someone finally took my order. When she handed me my bagels, it took another couple of minutes of standing around before someone realized I needed to pay. I honestly considered just leaving but I had to get a soda. I finally paid and was standing there alone with two drinks, two bags of chips, two bagels and only two hands. I asked for a brown paper bag to help carry the lunches and she could not have been more put out by my request. I did NOT leave a tip.

Bagel & Deli was a good stop for a quick lunch in Oxford. I was recommended this for lunch by a Miami alum. I ordered the "Messy Katie"...it was definitely good, but an acquired taste. I personally wish I ordered something else or got this without the cheese because it was a very heavy lunch for me. This place is your typical, college town sandwich shop and I can see why it is open so late. A lot of the combinations of bagel sandwiches would absolutely taste great after a night out, but may seem weird at other points of the day. I am giving it three stars for the lack of bathroom and the price. I think these sandwiches are overpriced for a college town type establishment.

The man behind the counter seemed really pissed off that he had to be at work. He yelled at two of his coworkers and three customers in the time it took me to decide I would rather not eat here.

There are places that have nostalgia. And there are places that are tasty. Even though I didn't go to Miami, I could easily tell there is a lot of nostalgia here. A friend of mine who went to school here said I had to eat here. Great choice. My son and I had the Wam-O. He said, "I have no idea what is in here, but it's great." My son is a tough critic, so for him to like it, it must be pretty good. And I would have to agree with him. My wife and daughter also thoroughly enjoyed their sandwiches too. The two guys working were friendly and gave us a lot of insight as to why Oxford and Miami University are great. I love it when I talk with locals that love their town and university. When you are in Oxford, you really need to eat here.

My colleague let me know that this was a must-stop on a recent business trip to Oxford. He was right. This spot actually reminds me of Chicago Bagel Authority in Lincoln Park. There isn't a ton of seating, but enough if you come by at an off-hour, which we did. The names of the bagel sandwiches are really creative and posted all over the wall. Bagel & Deli Shop is eclectic, with articles and history about the establishment proudly displayed on the walls. Pretty cool to see this place is really a Miami University institution. I ended up ordering the Sara's Secret that had turkey, mustard, avocado, sprouts, and other tasty ingredients. All on a steamed bialy, this was a messy, but delicious sandwich. If you find yourself in Oxford, this is a superb little place to stop for breakfast or lunch.

This is a great shop to pick up late night food or a quick lunch! I must say that my favorites are the "Messy Katie" and "Crunch 'n munch." This place is famous and well-known, a must see before you leave Oxford if you really want to get the true Oxford/Miami University experience!

Went later on in the afternoon and had the big meek.i ordered it because I wanted roast beef, but getting it I realized it was a faux big Mac. Yea I'm slow, not really a mcdonalds fan but it was delicious. It even has a little middle bagel bun. This is a place I wanna come back and try everything.

Love Bagel & Deli! Just stopped in on a Saturday afternoon earlier this month after not having any for 8 years or so since I graduated. Got my old standby the Cosby, but wish I had branched out because my hubby got the Bowler's Bagel and it was wayyyyy better and so delish. Only loses a star because the college kids that work there can be pretty rude and service can be slow but whatevs as long as my bagel sammy is good I don't care.

It's a nice place during the day, but extremely expensive for a bagel sandwich ($3 for a bagel with cream cheese, for reference -- I could almost buy a whole package of cream cheese and half a dozen bagels for this price at Kroger). At night, you'll get shoved by all types of people much worse than any bar you can imagine. I went there only a few times so far because I'm small and I hate being pushed and strong armed out of the way. I got there at 2 AM the last week of the school year, and people were insane. I saw a guy push another guy to the ground over a spot in line. Well, by line I mean glob, because there is no line. It's just an amalgamation of drunk assholes trying to get their food first. I don't know how the workers manage. I don't think I'll go back here again.

Great food. Service is spotty but considering they are also making the food it is understood. You can't visit Oxford or go to Miami without coming here and trying the crunch and munch bagel. It is legendary. Also it's one of the best late nights spots to grab a bite to eat after going out.

I've heard of this place before but did not expect it to be as good as it was. They have all of these sandwich recipes that people have invented over time. You can order one that already exists, or you can build your own sandwich. Either way, it will be delicious!

I don't eat here too often, but they have a wide variety of bagel sandwiches, and I mean wide! My favorite is the breakfast bagel! And it's great to eat when you suddenly get hungry at 1am when you're out on the town.

Went in for breakfast this morning and ordered the good morning sausage bagel. Service was gruff and very uninviting. No milk available to drink with the bagel. Coffee was horrible. No room to sit so we had to take our food out. Then bit into the bagel sandwich and the sausage was COLD! The egg was cool. Bad bad start to our Saturday morning.

Eating here didn't change my life BUT it is very tasty. It's a tiny place so getting your order to go might be a good idea. They have something for everyone. So many bagel sandwiches, with many coming and going off the temporary menu all the time (so I'm told). They all have "cute" names. The whole steaming of the sandwich thing is kind of odd to me but it does make the sandwich hot - a good thing. They're pretty messy, too, so don't forget napkins. There are yummy specialty sodas in the coolers in the back, too, so skip the fountain drink and get something delicious like cream soda or a lime ricky! Lunch time was not crowded at all, but I hear late night is packed (perfect late night munchy food and/or hangover preemptive measure).

It is a must do for foodies..... The Crunch N Munch you can't find anywhere else, you can hit it for breakfast, lunch or late night snack after the bars.... It is great all the time.....

Once you've ever been here, you will definitely come back every time you visit Oxford. The Letterman (salami, cream cheese, lettuce, tomato on plain) is my favorite, but the ever expanding list of options, along with illustrated descriptions, will keep anyone satisfied.

I share my love of B&D with everyone I know and those who try it have not been disappointed. One day I will get to name my own bagel...it's on my bucket list. Until then I'll enjoy the MILF, After Burner, Crunch n Munch, Mr. Turkey...I can keep going.

By far my favorite place to eat as a college student. I recently took my first trip back to Oxford after graduating 7 years ago and B&D was my first stop. I enjoyed my Messy Katie so much that I made sure to go back for lunch the next day before leaving town! Everything here is good, but the Messy Katie is by far my favorite. Go here. You will not be disappointed.

This place is an icon in Oxford. You have to try this place if you are ever in Oxford. Before I tried it, I thought steamed bagels would be nasty, but they are, in fact , delicious. This place has tons of charm and is really unique. Staff knows how to keep the crowd moving. Try one of the named bagel sandwiches before you make your own.

I never understood why Miami students love this place so much. I went there twice freshman year and decided to give it another chance sophomore year, yet I STILL hated it. The sandwiches are just "ok" to me and I've definitely had better. But I guess the price is good for college students? And it didn't help that on my second visit, one of the workers had snot fall into my friend's sandwich and didn't remake it!!! Maybe he just didn't notice??? Despite the rave reviews I receive from friends, I'm still hesitant to go back. There are plenty of other options uptown.

Came with a Miami U Ohio alum for work (on Good Friday) and stopped by for brunch. + Huge menu, almost bordering on confusing. I read the (orange) sheet menu one time through and by the time I got to the end, I had forgotten the ones at the beginning. After I placed my order, I picked up a (pink) sheet menu, expecting it to be the same, but it was a completely different listing of bagel-wiches! I felt like I missed out... - The sandwich names are all very creative but some of them are so similar that it's hard for me to remember which I really wanted. I ended up ordering the "Green Eggs & Ham", which came with avocado, ham, egg, and american cheese. - Very small space. No matter where I stood, I seemed to be in someone's way. - Considering how popular this place is, I was a bit surprised at the amount of time it took to get my bagel-wich. You would think they'd figured out a way to really make the whole process more efficient. + Steamed bagel makes it much softer to bite through so all the goodies in between don't get squished out the side. - Steamed bagel, as you can imagine, has a slight tendency to stick to your teeth. + Not stingy with ingredients. Plenty of avocados for me and plenty of sprouts for my coworker, yay! + REAL american cheese, and not some Kraft singles...very, very cheesy. I can see this place becoming a 5-star for me if I frequented it more often and tried out more bagel-wiches. But for my first visit, I'll be honest and say that it's a 4.
