While visiting Holmes County, my husband and I were looking for a local place that served awesome beer. Luckily, we wandered upon this brewery by chance, and they just happened to be open on a Sunday, which is somewhat unusual for businesses in this area. When we walked in, there wasn't a soul in the bar, except for the bartender. Waving us in, we joined her at the bar, and she immediately began to describe the beers that are served on tap. Being the beer connoisseur that he is, my husband was pleasantly surprised to find many different brews on tap, especially since the brewery has only been open for about a month. The bartender informed us that we could taste any beer for $1, so we ended up creating our own tasting flights to sample almost everything. Between the two of us, we sampled the Blonde, Amber, Belgium Wheat, Red, IPA, Porter, Stout, and Vanilla Porter. After tasting, we then decided to order our own pints-mine was the Belgium Wheat and my husband's was the Amber. Of all the beers, we were happy with everything we tasted. There wasn't a bad beer. Also, being unfamiliar with the area's culture, the bartender happily answered all of our questions about the county, while being engaged in our brewery experience. We will definitely come back when we're in the area. Note that they do not sell food, except for chips. They do have free popcorn. Also, there's lots of merchandise for sale, including growlers. Atmosphere is great. Beer is great. Service is great. That's what you look for in a local place like this!

No substantial food. We stopped here looking for a beer and a bite to eat. Unfortunately they only have chips available. Nevertheless, we sat down and ordered beers: an IPA for my husband and vanilla porter for myself. Service was quick and employees were attentive. A nice atmosphere to take a break and relax with friends. The beer was flavorful and robust. We would visit again, perhaps in the evening after dinner.

Was happily surprised to find a brewery in such a small Ohio town. I see others have had some issues with service. We found very friendly staff, but maybe one too few for a busy Saturday in July. Beer was good and nice selection of styles, and solid but not exceptional in any way, which is fine with me. Happy to have choices of real beer anywhere. They don't have a kitchen so no food (kitchens are really expensive to set up so lots of small breweries don't have them) but we ordered a pizza from down the block and it was delivered to our table. Nice work around. I can see some folks being in a hurry and getting frustrated here. It feels run by not-quite-professionals at times, but if I wanted Bud Light and Applebee's I wouldn't be here anyway. This is Amish country, after all, where many things happen at the speed of horse and buggy. Take your time, relax, have a real beer and enjoy.

The service was the worst I have ever had in my life. The bartender was incredibly rude. The bar claimed to not have cheese on a Wednesday. We went to enjoy a Good wine and was basically refused service in a basically empty bar. Bartender was blatantly rude and unhelpful. Would not ever go here for even a glass of water. Went down the road to a friendlier establishment.

The beer probably some of the best in Ohio. The pumpkin I think the best I have had. But service is the worst of pretty much if any place I've been.

Is the place closed yet? I thought maybe it should close and be done with it. We wandered in after the 'commercial assault' called Amish country for a beer and a brewing company is perfect. Provided it is not this place. When we walked in, found an open table - no hostess, no greeting, no acknowledgement from the staff and sat down. Sitting at the table we noticed confusion and customers getting up and going to the bar and the staff walking in and out the bar area. This is NEVER good. A guy across the way seemed pretty pissed as did the other folks at his table about what was going on. Or NOT going on. He paid the bill, i think, and they stormed out. Not happy, for sure. All of us saw the situation and my wife said, "he was pretty steamed about something." We sat there a bit and the staff wandered by a few times and made eye contact and after a few rounds of this i wondered if our waitress had gone missing. Ten minutes had gone by and my crew was getting mad about no one showing up. So i walked up to the bar and ask, "what do we do here? Come to the bar or does someone come to the table? Tell me what to do, please?" That was met with a snap and i basically got bitched out as i heard something to the effect of ' we only have one waitress... blah, blah blah short staffed...' How dare I ask to be waited on... With that RUDE treatment, i walked back to the table and ask what my crew wanted. They had heard the nasty staffer and said "let's leave, to hell with this place". So, they may as well shut down. I see someone else in the reviews had the same experience. There is no reason for this to happen whatsoever!!! People do want great products, and you know what, everybody has great products nowadays and the key is great service. Oh the amount of money we have spent in brew pubs!!! The tips, HUGE! Why? Beer of course and a GREAT wait staff! If this place has good reviews they probably came from friends, certainly not from anyone that had been treated this poorly. I would recommend closing as there really is no reason to go in here...

Great selection of beers, light to dark and even barrel aged all of them are excellent. My favorites were the Panther Hollow vanilla porter, the french ridge IPA and the black lager. In the way of food they only have a meat, cheese and cracker platter. When we showed up the place was almost full and the gal at the bar was the only staff. She was running around so we had to wait a bit to get served but was she attentive and friendly. Definitely worth a stop, I'm convinced the poor reviews of this place are an attempt to keep it secret.
