We went to Lone Star on Fields Ertle Rd. in the Cincinnati (Mason), Ohio area on 1/31/15. It was about 3:30pm and there were approximately 5 or 6 other tables with customers, so not busy at all. We started out with drinks...a tall draft beer and the Five Star Bloody Mary. After about ten minutes and our server twice saying our drinks would be right up, he approached our table, seeming very nervous, and admitted he could not "find the bartender" and was going to get the manager. He arrived about 5 minutes later with our drinks (BEST BLOODY MARY EVER, BTW) and took our food order. He still seemed very nervous, probably because many people tip (or not) based on things that are out of the server's control. He offered us an extra soup or salad due to the wait on the drinks. We declined, telling him it was okay. When he delivered our food, which was quick, perfectly cooked and delicious, he advised us he was taking 15% off of our bill due to the drink issue. The manager never came to speak to us(we did not ask for him/her) and we never complained about the drink issue at all. The server took it upon himself to compensate us for a minor poor service issue. We thought that was great and made sure to tip him well. We will definitely return just based on the professionalism of the server, but the food and drinks were very good as well.

My family and I were staying in a hotel nearby and wanted some good food after a long day at the zoo. So we chose Lonestar. Service was good. Very attentive. I ordered water and it tasted funky and the waitress didn't charge me even when I switched to pop (or is it soda?) We ordered onion rose for an appetizer. Very good. Well done and none of it was soggy like other restaurants. For dinner I had the bubba steak burger, well done minus tomato and onion. Came with tomato and onion. I just took them off. Was topped with cheddar cheese (melted!) and BBQ sauce. Awesome BBQ sauced. Tasted like honey bourbon. Steak fries were pretty meh. Tasted freezer burnt to me. Worst part of dinner was took way to long to get our food when the restaurant wasn't busy at all. A good hour + after we ordered for a family of four. We had to go up to the bar to pay because the waitress was too busy chit chatting to the manager to cash us out. Restaurant was kind of hard to find and parking lot is steep to pull into.

So I am catching up on my reviews... this is of a local restaurant that we sometimes frequent... it's better than most in the area, but still a chain... This Lone Star rose like a phoenix from the ashes of a previous restaurant, and it made quite an improvement, I think. For dinner, I had the filet mignon, a sweet potato with brown sugar and butter, and a salad with honey mustard dressing. The beer selection is pretty poor, though, unless a Bud Light excites you. They do have some sort of Lone Star brand beer. Not really sure what that is. Didn't try it. Not tempted to try it. If you're in the Middletown area and want a decent chain restaurant that serves steaks, then go here. The service is always pretty good, and the place seems reasonably busy. Still, it's a chain restaurant, and no chain will ever prepare steaks better than you can at home.

Usually we find the service average at best at Lonestar, but we have seen marked improvement during our last few visits. The food and menu are pretty standard for a steakhouse chain restaurant. I can't say that any one menu item stands out as great for me. I do really love the decor here though. They have several vintage cowboy photos that I would love to have in my home.

The cooks had some kind of mix up with the food tonight. We ate for free.

One of the nicer chains in town, great ambiance. Really like the extra bottle if beer in the bucket, and food is pretty darn good. Salads are fresh and tasty, steaks done well, we've had lots of good meals here. Service is hit or miss, James is best by far.

Good steak, good smashed potatoes, good rolls with honey butter. Decent prices and service.

I actually had to force myself to give this one star. Our service was beyond horrible. My family & I are pretty easy guests. To say our server had an attitude would be a colossal understatement. Food was just ok for what we paid. Overall atmosphere of the restaurant was just that nobody really gave a crap about their jobs. We will not be returning anytime soon. This is a very poorly run Lonestar.

Good food, but although the service is acceptable, you got the feeling they were just going through the motions, and as a result didn't really feel like I wanted to stay long, but then again most service I've found in the US lacks sincerity, despite the polite service.
