We've been here several times and it's always kind of hit or miss. But tonight did it in for us. My partner found bottles of salad dressing on their bar dated July 2013...more than a year outdated. Really...? Then, I found a short stringy black hair on my plate. As I told our waitress about it, she kept saying something about a pecan? Pecans don't have stringy hairs on them first of all. She takes it to the back to the cook, he brings out a piece of baby corn and said it was a piece off the baby corn. Nothing of which he showed me was black. I kept disagreeing with him, and he proceeds to LAUGH at us. I'm a dissatisfied customer and you're going to laugh at me??? And just walks away. Without any apology, takes $3 off of our meal, that I hardly got to eat. I'm not asking for a free meal but could've been handled much better.... I don't see us coming back.

Typical Chinese Buffet. Nothing Spectacular in the food, but the dumplings and service were very good!

Let's face it. These places are pretty much cookie cutter. All you want is hot fresh food, and all the typical items right? Hunan House is as good as any in Dayton but you must go at open or right after the lunch dinner switch. I am telling you now, if you show up at 3:30 in the afternoon you might be disappointed. I have yet to find one of these buffets that weren't that way. I like going when they open, "there is usually 10 to 20 people waiting" it might take 15 minutes for them to get all the stuff out, Why they don't realize this I don't know, but the stuff is fresh and tasty. The price for lunch with a water and tip is less than 8 bucks. No complaints. Update: March 2015 I have eaten here once a month for the past year, and I have never experienced anything like a few of the cry babies below had. There will be a communication gap, they are Chinese speaking people trying their best to assimilate. The person who took photos, what a scummy thing to do? Anyone who uses half eaten trays and poor lighting could make a 5 star place look bad. Come on, what a joke that was! This is a Buffet that costs $6.99, not The Chop House. I stand by my original review above as a cheapskate who gets a taste for hot and sour soup. BTW: The hot and sour soup is the best I have ever had, the butter shrimp is very good. Again, nothing a real stand out except the hot and sour soup, but everything is good if you get there when they open or at the beginning of Dinner. Update July 26 2015: Service is still very good, food the same. No complaints, I still go right as they open 11:00/11:30 AM. I do have one OTHER customer complaint though: Lots of big fat white woman "I am white too btw" that love to talk on the phone to whoever so loud I can't relax and eat my food. I don't know what it is about fat white woman and the need to tell everybody how stupid their room temp I.Q. baby daddy is. I DON'T CARE, PLEASE STFU!!!!!!! Turn your phone off morons.

I only order take out or get buffet food. The customer service table side will leave A LOT to be desired. Patience is definitely required when dining in. However! The food is awesome!!!!!! The butter shrimp is probably my favorite dish. It comes a little heavy in the butter department, you can request to have less. It may take a couple times to get the request to be understood, but not a big deal. I've never had a dish here I didn't enjoy.

I was scared to eat the food! I can't believe a place that's food was so cold and old could be allowed to be served to the public. Do not eat here! If you're thinking about eating here do yourself a favor and got to McDonald's dive in their dumpster and just eat there.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
