This is a review for take out. I'm in the area from business and decided to order and take it to my hotel room. I ordered a salad, soup and appetizer to Try a little of everything. I had the fried tofu, which was a huge portion and the peaunut and cilantro dipping sauce is out of this world. Next, was the cucumber and carrot salad, I ordered a large which was a little over $3. The salad was sweet, fresh and delicious. Next was a chicken, mushroom cocunut soup. Amazing! See pic for all the ingredients. I would recommend this place to anyone. Dining room was small but nice.

Absolutely love the drunken noodles! Don't let the exterior fool you, the food makes up for the simplistic atmosphere. This is a hidden secret and we crave it when we haven't been for awhile.

Great, attentive staff. A with fresh and flavorful Thai cuisine. You know it's a good place when you walk in for lunch on a Friday and it's packed. They sat us quickly and we discovered it was worth the wait. We ordered the princess shrimp appetizer and the summer rolls with shrimp. Both were fresh, and made in-house. Also, the Tom-Yum soup.. Delish We had the yellow curry but substituted the white rice for sticky rice (this is a must) a little extra $$ but totally worth it. Give this place a try!!

Bangkok Kitchen is Bangin' Their Curry blows my mind. I have yet to have anything there I did not care for. I take ppl there that have never had Thai food and everyone is pleasantly impressed. Decor and Ambiance isn't much, but the service is always good and food is amazing. The deep fried Tofu, awesome...Pad Thai....Best noodles I've had. I might be slightly skewed since I like ethnic food. It's such a hard menu to pick from since everything sounds so good. I'm sure it it about as healthy as takout as you can find minus going vegan/gluten/lite/flavorless. They have booze too! I tried some rum drink, and remembered half way thru that I like Bourbon not so much Rum, so my opinion is nill.

Far off from decent. If you want decent Thai Go to tasty Thai This place executes there food weekly and over spices and under seasons there food. Literally my broth tastes like dish water used to clean a plate from another Thai place

So much for their " providing superb customer service" I picked up my food, got back to the house and my Mussels (3-4) were bright Orange!!! I took my food back and they would not give me my money back, claiming "that's how they are supposed to look" BRIGHT ORANGE! No- I wouldn't eat there ever again! They made some sort of Seafood "bad buy or bad cook" and they refused to refund my money. Didn't touch a morsel, and they made a note of it. Waited for a call from the Owner, called twice and still no response- over $17 that's it seventeen bucks and they will not honor their " providing superb customer service" Do not support this restaurant....

Positives: Excellent Thai food. We quite like the curries, noodles and the salads. Haven't had a bad meal yet. Negatives: The dining area is small and the days when you could just drop in for dinner long past. Expect a wait and sometimes the service suffers due to the heavy traffic. Conclusion: To my knowledge, the best Thai in Toledo. Definitely worth a try.

Better/healthier than most other options in the area. That said, skip the hot and sour soup - it is not what you expect and not worth the surprise.

This was my first time trying Thai food. I loved it! The staff was super friendly, prices were very reasonable and the quality was two thumbs up! I look forward to returning.

Yep, the people are right. This place is fantastic! I've been to a lot of Thai restaurants and have become somewhat of a Thai food snob. When it was recommended to me to try out Bangkok Kitchen, I was skeptical I must admit. As I don't think most people would immediately think that Toledo has fantastic Thai food. Well.... they do here! My go-to is the Pad Thai with tofu. So so good. Check it out, you won't be disappointed!

  • Brooklyn H.

My favorite Thai food in the area. I always have excellent service and the food is absolutely delicious. They always prepare my entree for me with just enough spice and the tofu is so yummy. I usually order the pad woonsen. This is a great place to bring your friends because I call it a hidden gem.

I traveled across town to pick up three over $10 dollar dishes each and an order of spring rolls, final charge being around $32 dollars. I come home find that two of those containers had intensional holes in the lid (they were both sauce-based curry dishes) and of course my entire bag is now soup because a plastic bag is not able to stabilize a container very well, let alone with two gapping holes. As well, both those same dishes were the size of my fist (no joke) and weighed less than 8oz; one being a tofu based dish and the other chicken. Ill repeat again that each dish was more than $10 dollars. Oh yeah, and those spring rolls...they were not in my bag either. I guess the pad thai dish is the only saving grace... The food was good.

Having lived in Thailand and eaten wonderful Thai food I was a bit disappointed. The flavor was average at best. Too many shortcuts on fresh rolls too. Service was good with carryout order but when I returned to pick it up and took it home I was missing one item. Called them and I returned to to pick up that item and ordered more but no discount or free apppetizer for their mistake especially when I wasted my time and gas to return to this place.

  • Kristen A.

Order their Pad Thai and it was delicious! I wasn't expecting it to be a sit down restaurant so I wouldn't recommend it for a take out lunch spot. I'm glad I ordered online so when I finally got to the counter my food was waiting. I will definitely be returning to this place!

GREAT Thai food, best in the area. Always very fresh and consistently good. I highly recommend to anyone looking a delicious meal. I can't say enough good things.

So good! I stopped based on yelp reviews as I was passing to town for a business trip. The waitress the staff were very friendly and Kept my water glass full - which is a must for me when eating spicy Thai. I had the wonton soup which was very light and tasty and chicken pad see ew. The pad see ew was so good! I had medium + spice which still had a lot of kick to it but kept the flavor. The noodles were not greasy at all and the vegetables tasted very fresh. This was so good I am considering returning on my return trip home.

  • Jeff S.

The food and service are great, but there is one major problem. Whenever I order Seafood Curry take out, the container leaks all over the bag on my way home. I have discussed this with the restaurant, but they have not fixed the problem. I just ordered again tonight, and about half was at the bottom of the bag, not in the container. I wish they would get a container that sealed properly.

Very good food. I ate here three times during a business trip. While the Pad Thai and Woonsen were very good, I felt they could have used a bit more flavor. The pad kee mao was excellent and had lots of flavor. The staff is friendly and efficient.

Wow, just happened to be staying across from this place and am really glad we decided to eat here. Some of the best Thai food we have had. Pad Thai was excellent! Gang Curry was really good as well. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great (but spicy) dinner.

  • Jack S.

We travel Chicago to Pittsburg frequently and finally found a unique place to dine. Maybe the best tofu pad Thai we've had, deeply rich flavored and for us perfectly spicy. Avoid logos and go here.

BEST THAI (and incidentally best asian overall) FOOD IN TOLEDO. Moving from San Francisco I'm super picky about my ethnic food. SF has such a rich ethnic population and great local ingredients so it's easy to find super authentic and delicious food from every part of the world. When I moved here, losing access to that was really difficult, and I've yet to find suitable replacements for most of my favorite restaurants back home. MOST INTENSELY I have missed quality thai food. Most of the places here either haven't nailed the flavor profile, or the balance, or the spice level to really be up to snuff. ENTER BANGKOK KITCHEN. Super balanced, super authentic, super flavorful, and VERY spicy. They did not blink when I asked them for thai hot, and boy did they deliver. My one complaint, but I'll give them slack on it because this seems to be a regional issue...Curry should have more produce than just bell peppers. Basil leaves, bamboo shoots, squash, pumpkin, pineapple, peas, carrots, whatever. There should be more to a curry than protein and peppers. BUT, I'll let that slide, because everything else is SO GOOD. Well done.

Tonight was my first time eating at this restaurant. I ordered chicken spring rolls and seafood Pod Kee Mao. Both were excellent. My experiences with Thai food are largely from places in mid-town Manhattan. Bangkok Kitchen was on par with them. In addition, the wait staff was quick and courteous. I'll visit here again my next time in the Toledo area.

  • Tha B.

I love this place! I dine here or get take out at least once a month. The dining area is small so a party larger than 20 would be hard to seat all together.

    (5)
  • Mike J.

This is the best Thai place in Toledo, for my money. Their extra spicy Pad Kee Mao is excellent - and rivals any I've had on the West Coast.

    (5)
  • Spencer M.

The food here is great, the best thai food in Toledo and one of the only places I have to go every month! The space inside the restaurant is a bit small so it's better fit for small parties, but ordering for pick up is always easy and they never make you wait beyond the time they say

    (5)
  • Kelsey S.

Just meh, not spicy enough even at Thai hot.. The food is semi bland and you should just go to tasty thai.. Seriously.

    (3)
  • Jacob W.

Small but the food is great so get it to go. Offers the most spicy thai food in the area. Diverse menu and good wait staff.

Best Chinese food hands down in the toledo/bg area, anything your order will have tons of flavor and be worth the money.

Once again the people of Yelp done good and steered me right to the best place in town. Great little Thai Restaurant. Not much to look at from the outside. Not much to look at inside. Just great Thai Food. I had the Pad Cashew with reminded me of Kung Pao Chicken at a Chinese Place only with Cashews. It was really good. Good flavor, just the right amount of "heat" when I ordered it "Medium" All their dishes can be done "Mild", "Medium" or "Hot". I went "Medium" and there were crushed red pepper flake all over the dish. Hot but not intolerable and not overwhelming to the point you can't taste anything but heat. I imagine the "Hot" is SMOKIN because I went through 3 diet cokes and 3 glasses of water on the "Medium" LOL I was alone traveling on business but would have loved to go with a group and share dishes so I could have tasted more dishes. Lots of things looked good. Oh well...I will be back and try others. The Chicken Satay appetizer was only OK...pretty much chicken breast meat grilled with no seasoning that I could detect other than the very good peanut sauce to dip it in. I probably will go with a Spring Roll...or Summer Roll...or Fried Dumpling...or well lots of things looked good on the appetizer menu so I will try something else. No need for me to look further for Thai Food in Toledo

The green curry was very good. Excited to come back and try something else off the menu.

Order Shrimp Fried Rice took over 30 mins! We are not talking about a celebratory dish here, it's just shrimp fried rice! Also they new they were going to be late on my food order an took my money anyway before even telling me it wasn't ready! Also the front counter person was extremely rude and had no customers experience what so ever! Go to Tasty Thai instead! Stay away from Bangkok Kitchen!

  • Pat W.

Good Thai food, Americanized but still good. A little pricy but I always enjoy the food there. It isn't a complete Thai menus but many fishes Americans like are available. They have a lunch special with soup, appetizer and main dish. The portions are pretty decent as well. It is in a plaza and which I don't care for, and had simple decor, but it is well worth going.

I only had to live in the Toledo are for four years to find the best Thai place, but this is it! Have twice gotten take-out from Bangkok Kitchen for a family of six with many different appetites. Both the Tom Yum and the Tom Kha were excellent, although the tofu seemed a better fit for both than the white meat chicken. The spring rolls are crispy and delightful. The pad thai is very flavorful and without a doubt, the best in Toledo (yes, we've had them all). The Gang Kheow Wan, Pad Nam Prik Pow, Gang Pa, and Eggplant Lad Prik were all aromatic, and appropriately spiced (medium is a true medium; hot is indeed hot) to order, with great texture in the vegetables, and an intense flavor to the broth. The chicken in the entrees is almost a bit of a bystander, but is lean, quality meat, and flavored enough, though obviously a late addition in the cooking process. In NYC or SF, this is just 4-stars, but here in T-town, it gets 5, because for Thai food here, this is definitively "as good as it gets."

Great food, great service! The fresh spring rolls were some of the best I've ever had.

  • Big E.

I can't imagine Thai food main dish being any better. I won't try to reconstruct the spelling of the dish, but it was perfectly seasoned, perfect heat and incredibly good. My only disappointment was the fresh spring rolls. At $4 each they fell far short of expectations. Would I be exaggerating that only a single shrimp resided in each roll? The staff was great and very helpful. I'd definitely would be back if I lived around here and just skip the appetizer.

Best Thai food in Ohio. Been here 3 times this year on the way to a job and I travel a lot and try to eat Thai whenever I can. Still awesome food. Don't let the exterior fool you. The food is fresh, the waiters are nice and I'm craving it right now.

The best Chinese-Thai restaurant in Maumee. The chicken pad Thai and khao pad are my all time favorites. The crushed peanuts with the pad Thai add a different flavour. The lunch combo with soup is value for money

This place never misses a beat. The food is delicious, consistent and they have decent service. This is for sure one of the best Asian food joints in the Toledo area. The pad thai and the hot and sour soup are delicious. As I am writing this I am thinking I should call in a carry out order. Get in my belly!

I haven't tried many Thai places in the area, but this place is pretty delicious. The prices are reasonable and the portions are decent. We got the Bangkok Friend rice, Pad Thai, which was very flavorful and the Pad see ew. The portion for the pad see ew seemed smaller than the other dishes and the noodles for the pad see ew weren't as fat as other places I've been to, (but then again, pad see ew isn't my favorite dish so since I don't usually get it, it may just be that I don't remember what pad see ew is supposed to be like). They were very generous with the chicken for the pad thai and the pieces of shrimp for the fried rice were jumbo shrimp (not weeny sized shrimp). My only complaint was that the waitress offered to give us extra sauce on the side (for our pad thai, and other dishes) but then we were charged for each side of extra sauce. I like it better when a restaurant lets the customer know that they will be charging extra for something like that.

While picking up my order, I noticed that they have a small but "fully" stocked bar. I'm wondering if the presence of alcohol in your system might help to alleviate some of that initial "Jesus, why am I eating strip-mall Thai again?" feeling that you might have. Don't drink too much, however, because if my experience is indicative, you will want your taste buds to be fully functional. I had the panang curry (hot, tofu) and the massamun curry (chicken, hot) to go. Very good curry, BUT, the chicken itself had no taste what so ever. I assume this is because they warmed it up separately and then added it to the curry, after the fact. There was no time for the curry taste to saturate the chicken. I might be wrong about this, but that sure is how it tasted. MINUS 1. The tofu was surprisingly better. The menu is large, and the selections diverse. The food I saw on the tables seemed well presented. I also noted that they serve Thai tea and Thai iced coffee too! Perfect to get ready for any all-nighter, whatever the reason! The menu also has about 6 deserts all of which sounded delicious. Many things to try besides just curry!

Great Thai food in the area. Bangkok Kitchen was the place I chose to stop by while in Toledo (thanks Yelp!). This little Thai place was nice and had a stellar staff. We came on Halloween afternoon and some of them came in some pretty cool costumes. The servers were friendly and really made the place feel cozy. The menu offered up some Thai staples and some other unique items I hadn't seen in other places. The best part about this place was the lunch special. Add an appetizer and soup to any entree for only $1! I ordered the Crispy Duck. The gf ordered the Pad Prik Chicken (Sweet Basil). The lunch specials come with a cup of hot and sour soup as well as an appetizer of your choosing (from a select menu). We both opted with the Princess Shrimp appetizer and it didn't disappoint. The princess shrimp is a deep fried dumpling/wonton of sorts. They were fried triangles stuffed with shrimp and veggies. Easily the best rangoons I've ever had. The hot and sour soup wasn't spicy at al and went a bit overboard on the sweet. I still liked it though and it did have shredded chicken that gave it a bit more heartiness. The Crispy Duck was incredible. The portion size didn't look too large for half a duck, but it was more than enough. The skin was crisped perfectly and really held together well. The duck comes deep fried but it's not battered which was good. The duck meat was actually very meaty and had good flavor behind it, though a bit more subtle. The sauce that accompanied the duck was wonderful too. Like an oyster sauce that was more runny. The Pad Prik Chicken was good, though the portion size also looked a tad small. The dish itself was pretty spicy for medium. I enjoyed the nice kick it offered. The meat to veggie ratio was a bit low, but everything tasted great. Taste was incredible. Overall wonderful restaurant. Servers were friendly and constantly smiling without it being creepy. The food was great and the prices weren't too high, especially for Thai. The place isn't too small or dirty and really is a great place to go when you're hungry or on a date. Must try if you're in the area. P.S. Useless Tidbit: I love the smell of freshly baked bread, Subway included. Well, being that this place is located right next to Subway, the bathroom smells just like freshly baked bread, which I found awesome. Much better than the smells most are accustomed to when walking into a restaurant bathroom...

If you ask for Thai hot... Spice.... be prepared it's burn your lips off good. I ordered the Pad Kra Prow, really tasted like what ordered in Thailand.

Excellent food. The price is reasonable, although I have been able to find better Thai food in NYC for less than it is here. It's the best you'll find in Toledo for sure.

We got here early on a Saturday night and by the time we left there was a line out the door. We had the Tod Mun fish cakes, pad Thai, and noodle soup which was served with a variety of hot sauces (plus tea and a glass of wine for $37). The food and service were good.

the food was "ok" I've had better, I find it interesting that its a mix of thai and Chinese food. ill have to go there and have a dine in experience... the takeout wasn't too bad but not so good. tummy ache after...

There is nothing at Bangkok Kitchen that is bad. I work down the street from this restaurant and at times find myself eating lunch or dinner from here two or three times a week and the service is always top notch along with the food. You would not think a little inconspicuous restaurant in a strip mall would have better thai than I have eaten in NYC, LA and Chicago, but maybe I am just biased. The first time I ate Thai food was at Bangkok Kitchen and I had never had anything like it. I was first introduced to thai food with Bangkok's perfect hot and sour soup. It was unlike any hot and sour soup I had ever had. A perfectly balanced sweet and tangy, yet mild broth with lots of tiny rice noodles and bamboo and scallion. I usually get the chicken and tofu mixed, but I am obsessed with Bangkok's Tofu. Another favorite is the chicken summer roll. It is crisp and fresh and super clean with cilantro, lettuce, carrots, rice noodles and tasty chicken with a sweet and tangy peanut sauce. Its like a salad in a burrito. I dont know how else to explain it. This along with the soup is my favorite light and fast lunch. They also make a mean Gahree puff. Chopped chicken and potato with curry wrapped in the most flaky delicous pastry ever makes the most delicous comfort food on cold rainy days. As far as their dishes, take your pick. They make pad thai that no one else can touch, and even though I am allergic to some of the ingredients, I still try to steal off my boyfriends plate when he orders it because its so good. My favorite dishes are the beef lomein, any of the curries and the tofu pad prik, but really, I mean it when I say you cant go wrong trying anything there.

This is a 5-star review (for the FOOD) but the staffing leaves a littttttle to be desired. My husband and I have come here a few times as we're driving through Ohio on our way from East Coast to Midwest. The food is always great. The soup is completely amazing. Best hot and sour soup we've ever had. Very simple, and very tasty. And the food is great. We've gotten everything from basic Pad Pak (mixed veggies) to Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles - extra spicy of course!). It's always fabulous (Disclaimer: we've never ordered any fish dishes, so I can't speak to those). But the restaurant is always very busy (which is good!), but this means sometimes it takes a while for the servers to notice you are waiting to be seated or put your name in. Also, on our most recent two trips here, we've had a very rude and/or distracted waitress. One who didn't bring water refills ever, and another who gave us some grief for requesting chopsticks. But if you're in the mood for some great Thai, this is GREAT. THAI. :)

Amazing! Great service, great food! Hot is definitely pretty hot- and I'm a habanero girl! What I really like about this place is I feel good after eating.. meaning I don't feel weighted and I believe its pretty healthy fare. Definitely try the sweet n sour soup- it will likely be the best you've ever had! It's a great place to do a one on one with fellow net-workers.. I have been here many times and I am always happy with it!

  • Rosanna H.

A great find in the Toledo area. The staff is helpful and the restaurant is a decent size but what brings me back is the quality of food. Any of the curries are superb and the pad pak is very delicious. The spring and summer rolls are both equally good. I've never had anything I didn't like. The price for the amount of food is also a reason to continue going to this gem.

Out of the 4 Thai restaurants in Toledo, this one is by far the best. Many dishes are exploding with mouth-watering ingredients and resonably priced. The service is also excellent. I would highly recommend Bangkok Kitchen. Those with adventurous palates should try the Tom Kha or Penang Curry. The delicious exotic flavors are highlighted with authentic Thai ingredients, such as kaffir lime leaves, lemongrass and galangal. A couple of things to keep in mind: Spicy hot condiments can be brought tableside in order to customize the heat level of your food. Also, the decor and ambiance of the establishment would not be described as having "fine dining" status, but the dishes are extraordinary.

Delicious food - the spice level was great and the flavors of the food came through. Well presented too. Vegan coconut ice cream with peanuts for dessert was fantastic. Some of the best Thai that I've had in a long time.

This review is for the Pad See Ew. It just tasted like salty noodles to me. I just think I could have done a much better job making this dish. I didn't finish it... but I traded my leftovers for some cafeteria food the next day. The friend I traded with seemed pretty content. Their curry wasn't bad when I went another time. I ate a bite of my friends' Pad Thai and that bite was pretty good. But hey this review is for MY meal.

Overall, I like this place. I'd definitely recommend anyone craving Thai food to check it out! So far, I've tried several dishes that include: 1. Crispy Chicken with Ginger Sauce (lunch size). Kind of small, but it came with soup and salad for only $1 extra. Quality is really good. I love the crispiness of the chicken, and the sauce was on the side, and was ohh, so good. Comes with stir fry veggies and rice too. 2. Thai papaya salad. Ohhh, so good. It's got just the right amount of citrus, and I love every bit of it. We always finish this. 3. Beef stir fry. I don't exactly remember the name of the dish, but it comes with little slices of beef with plenty of veggies, mushrooms, and flavor! Really good dish that has been a repeat for my sister and me. 4. Soup isn't very good. Definitely really sweet...more than I'd expect. +1 Star: Very nice waitresses who are easy to talk with +1 Star: Nice selection of food and drinks +1 Star: Real quality food that tastes so good! +1 Star: Hidden, authentic Thai food in Ohio; definitely a gem in this town -1 Star: Incredibly slow. Even when there aren't many other customers, it seems to take forever for us to get our food, and drink refills have to be requested from my experience...even that takes forever. :( TIP#1: They don't always provide chopsticks. If you like using chopsticks, you can request it. TIP#2: If you want a variety of food and don't care so much about quantity, go for the lunch special, since for only $1 more you get soup and salad. Of course, keep in mind portions are REALLY small.

WOW! Best Thai food in Toledo by a long stretch. This place is a 15 min drive from my place and yet I always seem to go out of my way to come here for the delicious food. Their lunch special is especially appetizing. somehow they make their sweet and sour soup better than most places, it really is quite delicious, you must try this for yourself. You also get a choice of spring roll/crab rangoon/pricess shrimp with your lunch. now to the entrees 1) Pad Thai- best pad thai I've had anywhere, that's including 4 years of living in LA, where thai restaurants are in abundance 2) Pad see ew- good, but doesn't live up to the famed pad thai here 3) drunken noodles- see pad see ew 4) Curries- red, green, panang, whatever, they're all good A must try place while in Toledo if you like thai food.

Great place! Really good food, good service and it is affordable! I've gotten both carry out and dine in and honestly quality wise there is no difference. The food is fresh and tastes great and I appreciate that the portion size is decent for the money. The dine in area can get a bit cramped especially during dinner time but still a great experience and a wonderful place with friendly staff.

Oh I was so excited when this place came in! Delicious Thai food without having to drive to Talmadge? All these years later, the Kitchen is still going strong. Old friends are no longer serving there, but the food is still amazing. The location itself is easy to miss, located in a small strip mall between a nail salon and Subway. The area available to it is also small in size, though there is still room for two large tables for accommodating an entire family, an area with some chairs to wait for take-out, and a bunch of other tables able to seat 2-4 people. Decor is fairly simple - thick floral table clothes, Thai souveneirs and pictures (except for the bathroom which has Thomas Kinkade for some reason), and some plants. However, the forest green vestibule with a Thai-architecture styled "roof" was and remains a very nice addition. Adding a second set of doors to the entry, the vestibule not only adds some color to the place, but also keeps the NW Ohio winter wind from freezing the clientele. Normally I try to go in the early afternoon when you can get the lunch special - a slightly smaller portion of any entree of your choice, with a cup of soup and a few pieces of an appetizer - usually 2. This time, however, that didn't work out and Mom and I ended up there at dinner time. We decided to make our own "special" anyways and started off with an appetizer that gave us two princess shrimp, rangoon, and wontons and a cup of the hot and sour soup each. Princess shrimp refers to thick butterflied shrimp wrapped and fried in rice paper, and served with a sweet dipping sauce. They are not super flavorful, but usually have a great texture - crispy outside with a chewy, meaty inside. I have had times where the shell is more chewy than crisp, not having fried up very well. Usually, though, they are extremely tasty. The wontons and rangoon were also very good, my Mom especially liking the latter. Perfectly fried with a generous portion of tangy crab mix, they are not my favorite, but she adores them. Especially if you are dining alone, I definitely recommend the Gahree puff - a pastry filled with curried chicken, about the size of your palm. More sweet than spicy, it is served hot with a cucumber salad. You could probably split it with two people but won't want to. Hot and Sour soup, meanwhile, was one of the reasons we chose to drop in. Come the cold temperatures and ensuing illnesses, nothing soothes like a bowl of the sweet and spicy clear soup, filled with thin vermicelli noodles, bits of chicken, I think bamboo, and scallions. Nothing at all like the overly pungeant and brown stew-like stuff I usually find at Chinese places, this Thai version is light and slightly gooey, tingling on the tastebuds and clearing the head. When it came time for entrees, I couldn't help but order my old standby- the rich and creamy "curry nut". White curry with your choice of meat, peppers, onions, potato, and 3 kinds of nuts (peanut, cashew, almond). Served with a mountain of rice, you can have it as mild or spicy as you like, though I prefer a medium level so the other flavors are still distinguishable. As always, I ordered it with pork - thin but juicy slices in plentiful quantity - and it was absolutely delicious. The curry itself is rich without being glutinous, sweet without being cloying. It is also extremely filling, what with the double carbohydrates, and I think for that reason it stays with you longer than some of the other dishes. I believe my Mom ordered the pad almond with chicken - a light brown sauce with lots of vegetables - and she said that it was as good as ever. The sauce here is again not too glutinous or thick, and the portions of ingredients quite good. Other dishes I recommend include the "country noodles" (well any noodle dish really, but that is my favorite) and Hawaiian fried rice. For dessert, we decided on the buoy loi - a dish of hot coconut milk filled with large bi-colored spheres of tapioca with a delightful chewy texture. It's sweet, creamy, soothing, and a great compliment to any meal. However, all the desserts are great. I highly recommend the Thai custard. Service was good as always, though we had two different people this time leading to a little confusion over who was actually in charge. However, this was nothing major and the people were polite and friendly. Unusually, they were not of Thai origin or descent, though the people in the kitchen still were, I believe. The only other "problem" I had was that prices have gone up. What used to cost $8 is now $10. This is not surprising, though, and really the prices are about average for Thai food these days. I was still a bit sad to see it, though. Anyways, Columbus has a lot of great Thai places, but Bangkok Kitchen is still one of my favorites, and definitely on my list of places to go whenever I'm visiting Toledo.

Thai food is something new to us. Not having had any previously, I had preconceptions about it, though prejudices is probably a better way of saying it. In the back of my head I kind of thought that it was very spicy, that they use a few odd ingredients that I wouldn't find appetizing. But having read the reviews here for Bangkok Kitchen, I wanted to try this anyway, and talked the wife into it. Talk about a very pleasant surprise. It's nothing like I had thought it was, and is extremely good! We've been there three times now and have made it a regular in our restaurant rotation. I don't know how I got the idea that it was as exotic as I'd thought, but I was way off on this. While we haven't tried everything on the menu, the most exotic ingredient so far has been cashews. It really is just another form of Asian food, and if you at all like Chinese food, you will like this. When you order, they ask how spicy you want it, starting with mild and going hotter. So far neither of us has gone beyond mild, but I will try something spicier. When you first taste your dish, it does seem a bit spicy, but it never gets any hotter, and within an hour, all of that is gone unlike most spicy food which lingers for hours. Each of us has gotten something different each time, and all of them have been very good. The menu is quite large, and we spend a lot of time looking before being able to decide. So we won't run out of things to order there. The service is good, though on one trip it was slow, and always very friendly and helpful. So if you haven't tried Thai food, please do, you will be impressed by this place.

Excellent! I will be returning that is for sure! A nice little quiet atmosphere that is as casual as you get without being uncomfortable. The waitress we had knew everything on the menu and was able to figure out what we liked and give us suggestions. The choices are plentiful! And of course, the food was amazing. Everything is cooked to order with fresh ingredients. You can tell my peppers were just freshly sliced. And the options for how hot your dish is is great as well! Mild, medium, hot, and of course Tai Hot! I can't wait to come back and try more dishes!

Our sole reason for coming here was that it was close to the interstate. We were very pleasantly surprised with the efficiency of the restaurant and the quality of the food. It definitely seems to be popular with the locals and the menu has many choices so it wouldn't be hard to find something to suit any taste. Note that the "spicy" is pretty spicy as other reviewers mentioned so proceed with caution.

When I was growing up in Toledo, Bangkok Kitchen became one of my favorite restaurants! Bangkok Kitchen is the first place I had ever had Thai food, and after travelling the world (and even Thailand) I still hold this restaurant near the top of my list for two reasons... 1) The hot & sour soup is amazing and very unique. 2) The Pad Thai is awesome, and I've yet to taste a similar recipe. Every time I find myself in the Toledo area visiting family and friends, I always go to Bangkok Kitchen for the Hot & Sour Soup and Pad Thai!

Bankok Kitchen is a trek I rarely make, but I've had a consistently good experience every time I have. It seems like a great "go to" Thai place for Toledo residents. I'm fond of their Summer Rolls with tofu. The snap and the crunch always brings satisfaction when eating them. I may be in a rut, but I order the Pad See Ew. Change is good, but I wasn't feeling it at that moment. Deciding against eating a fireball, I ordered it with a medium level of heat. That seemed to be a wise choice. Sometimes I do want my mouth on fire, and it's great to have that option available. The service was a tad on the slow side, but c'est la vie. It didn't get me hot and bothered, and I don't feel like being a jerk about it.

Yum, yum, yum! I work across the street from here and went for lunch. It was so good! I had the pad Thai, medium spice and it was perfect. I will definitely be back.

This is my second favorite Thai joint in the Toledo area. The decor is severely lacking, but the food more than makes up for it. Everything I've ever had is extremely delicious and pretty affordable to boot. I prefer the Bangkok Cafe in Oregon, but this is a very close second for me, and actually much preferred by many of my friends. Well worth a visit.

Ive been here several times now and haven't had a bad meal. If you like spicy they will turn up the heat upon request but it if always flavorful as well. Not just hot for hot's sake

Best thai food I have ever eaten in my life. When I lived in Bowling Green I would come here at least three or four times a month. Now that I live in Michigan I seriously lament my loss of access to this place. I always stop here to eat lunch on my way to my parents' in Pittsburgh--and I get a takeout container of the Thai hot and sour soup for the road.

My daughter and I just ate there last night and it was the best Thai restaurant I have been to. The food was delicious and the service excellent. I had the glass noodles with chicken and my daughter had the drunken noodles with chicken. I wish we lived closer so we could go there more often!

Let me set the scene: my partner, me, and our new 2-month-old puppy were driving back from Chicago to Rhode Island after our Christmas family visits. Earlier in the day it was snowing heavily in Indiana, and while I was driving, our car spun around and into a ditch. No one was hurt and there was no damage to the car, but an hour and $100 of towing later, I was too terrified to drive. We get to our hotel near Toledo, OH, after 12 hours on the road. We are tired, exhausted, and frazzled. As we are driving around looking for a place, we see this restaurant. Thai food? In Toledo? But we stop, walk in, and the delightful scent of curry smacks us in the face. We are drawn in, sit down, and have an amazing red curry dish and curry noodle dish. Water is kept full, service is snappy, and the place is busy on a Thursday night. The spice perked me up, and it was exactly what I needed to chill out after a long, cramped, stressful day.

Not sure what the Toledo area has to offer for Thai food beyond this but it definitely wasn't spectacular. Ordered the Thai safety dish "Pad Thai" and was underwhelmed. The Seafood Rangoon appetizer was pretty lack luster as well. Not planning a return trip.

Having lived in Thailand I am pretty picky about Thai restaurants and I was skeptical when my friends in toledo wanted to go out for Thai in Maumee. When we sat down and viewed the menu my doubt quickly turned to excitement as I saw several appetizers and salads that are quite rare to find in the states. Tod Mun( A-4), Hoy Jow (A-9), Papaya Salad (SA-1), and Laab (SA-5) are some of my favorites in Thailand that are just not common here. Bangkok Kitchen's selection of entrees is more typical. We ordered conservatively as one of our party was incompatible with spicey food: Satay Chicken, Tom Kha, Papaya Salad, Pad Kra Prow and Pad Cashew. All were excellent and I am so looking forward to going back to Toledo soon.

This was my first time eating Thai food, and I can definitely say it won't be my last. We noticed right away that their was in fact no alcoholic beverages to be served, but the Thai Iced Tea was a delicious concoction of tea and milk. We then went on to order a chicken skewer appetizer with a a peanut dipping sauce. They had a light lemony flavor, and the peanut sauce was very tasty. Though for 6.95 they were a little too cold for my liking, unfortunate. On to the main course, I ordered the Pad Thai made hot. It was super spicy and oh so flavorful. We also had cashew chicken which very good as well. In closing, our experience was very good. The staff was fantastic, but the one rub would be the decor which was a tad dated.

Stayed in Maumee for a night while on the road after visiting the Manet exhibit at the Toledeo Museum of Art, plus the Glass Pavilion, and had dinner at Bangkok Kitchen.. The food is better than the vast majority of Thai that we have in Chicago-- very similar to Siam Cafe which has had a huge cult following for years.

So I was excited about this place because of the great reviews. Simply put the pad thai noodles were very good, just enough spice. I had the mixed seafood dish with noodles instead of rice. The mussels were good, I didn't get calamari. The shrimp tasted boiled & rubbery & do not even think about getting scallops. They were rubbery, small & cold on the inside. I will try this place one more time, however, I will not get any seafood.

Bangkok Kitchen fills Toledo's need for a Thai restaurant. I got the reasonably-priced lunchtime special; for an extra dollar, my entree came with a small fried appetizer and a cup of sweet-and-sour soup. The fried appetizer options were alright, but the sweet-and-sour soup was so amazing that next time, I will skip the fried appetizer to get a bowl of the soup. I loved the Pad Pak with tofu; it had a respectable variety of veggies. When my server asked me how I wanted my entrees spiced, I told her I don't want it to be as boring as Northwest Ohio, but I don't want to be crying. I told her my kids eat off the Indian buffet at Tandoor. She recommended medium and mild for me and the kids, respectively. My kids said their's was not spicy at all, and I'll be ordering hot next time. Given the limited Thai options in the Toledo area, I could possibly look past the dated decor, but for Bangkok to earn the 5th star, the menu needs to be freshened up a bit, for example, with a brown rice option and less of the deep-fryer.

After falling in love with Thai food in IL, I was looking forward to trying out the highest recommended Thai restaurant in the Toledo area. Unfortunately, I wasn't all too impressed. I may be spoiled by my usual spot considering my opinion is far off from all others. I'm pretty sure we'll try this spot again and rather than get our usual dishes, try something with we're unable to compare.

Went here on a recommendation of a friend whose wife is Thai. The place was very busy but managed to get the last open table. Our drink order was taken soon after we sat down but we were not served our drinks till our dinner came (ripoff alert don't order the soju $14 for a small sake size serving!) The girls seated next to us received their 2 glasses of wine before giving their dinner order (same waitress as ours). Our appetizers were served to us not by our waitress who after we ate our appetizers tried to serve appetizers again! Dinner was served by yet another waitress. All the servers/waitresses were Caucasian which is a change from previous reviews. Tom Mun shrimp appetizer was good. Country noodles and Pad Kee Mao, mild and hot respectively were perfectly spiced. Squid in both dishes was sparse. Jasmine Thai is still our favorite for Thai food.

This is the best Thai restaurant in Toledo. Food is very flavourful, and well prepared. The Staff is incredible, and will offer suggestions if you ask. The salads, noodle, and curry dishes are all fantastic. All made to your specific spice tollerance.

Bangkok Kitchen, a family owned non-chain restuaruant, is located in an unsuspecting strip mall off of Dussel Drive in Maumee, less than a mile from US23 N/S exits. This restuarant features relaxed family style casual dining. they can accomidate parties up to 15 comfortably, but possibly for more if you call ahead. Take out is available too. I recently had a great experience there, one of many great meals I've enjoyed over the years with the Bangkok kitchen! I started with the Thai Tea, black/orange color tea (strong) with ice and half & half. For an apetizer, I got the Hot & Sour soup with big blocks of Tofu instead of 1 chicken or seafood. It's a sweet broth soup with noodles, green onions and a spicy kick, but not too hot (medium-mild spice). I also got a crispy vegetarian spring roll with sweet & sour sauce. Crisp & flaky on the outside with hot noodles and veggies on the inside, yum! For the main course, I had Tofu Pad Thai, Medium spice. (you can order it no spice, mild, medium, or hot. In addition, you can ask for the spice tray, which has peppers, chili sauce and a few other pots of heat you can apply to your dish, free of charge). The pad thai has fresh sprouts, crushed peanuts, a lime wedge, spicy noodles tossed in a red sauce, Tofu cubes and green onions. For dessert, I had the floating lotus, which is sweetened, warm coconut milk with tapioca pearls floating inside. This is my go to meal. I almost always order it, but have never had a regret trying other items on the menu! They recently added a full bar, in addition to the thai coffee, thai tea, regular carbonated sodas, & of course hot green tea. allmenus.com/oh/maumee/5… Above is a link to their menu, Call ahead, they'll have your meal ready for you really quickly. Saturday night, I called in an order (the above meal) at 8pm and they said my order would be ready for pick up in 15 minutes! Wow! And it was still hot when I got it home.

Best Thai food in Toledo. Make sure you try the hot and sour soup there. It tastes so fresh and flavorful. I've been known to order a quart of their soup to go. Lunchtime specials are great. You get an appetizer, soup, and your entree. The portions are huge so you'll probably have some to take home for later. Each entree I've taken to go tastes even better the next day. The staff are extremely friendly and I've always had good service here. It's definitely worth the trip.

Delicious food! Great service! I have never had a bad experience here. I have attended lunch and dinner several times, never to be disappointed. The wait staff is eager to provide recommendations and good ones at that! I only gave the restaurant four stars because I am a cheap-o who doesn't like spending over $10 for veggies and rice at lunchtime ($8.50 special plus tip).

The best Thai food in Toledo. Get there early because it's small and fills fast. The cucumber soup is wicked tasty. I've gotten several dishes, and they are all top-notch. Just try it.

After searching around Toledo for a good Thai place, we ended up in Maumee and at Bangkok Kitchen. You'd never know it from the outside, but this place is great. Upon entering, the restaurant's patrons are greeted with a 1990s-era Print Shop banner and a weathered back-lit menu. However, the menu is quite extensive and had some things I'd never even heard of, including the entree I ended up ordering, the Pad Almond. The food and service were exceptional, and the Thai Iced Tea was phenomenal. I left very happy and will definitely be back.

For toledo: 5 stars... for my southern california taste buds.... 3.5 stars... average out to be a 4 star... it is, however, the best thai food in toledo. and the price is unbeatable. The same dish quality in california would be at least 2-3 dollars more, but the quality is compatible to many thai restaurants in So Cal... Couple dishes to recommend: Fried Tofu The curry rice Pad Thai is not bad... Dishes I would avoid getting or I think it's below average: Tom Yan Soup Chicken cashew....

All in all, a great place to stop on the way from PA to Ann Arbor. Easy access to 23 & 80. Will definitely stop again the next time we pass through here. Took the advice of other reviwers and ordered the papaya salad to start. We ordered it 'mild' and it was SPICY. (I should qualify this by saying that I have NO tollerance for spice whatsoever.) My lips were burning. Should have ordered it w/o spice. But my hubby LOVED it, and ate every last drop - even putting white rice on his plate to soak up the sauce to finish off the plate. (His bald head broke out in a sweat - proof that it was great.) We also ordered the hot and sour soup. It was just OK. I got pad thai with shrimp for my entree and it was fantastic. Large portion easily enough for 2 or 3 people. I'm looking forward to having it for lunch tomorrow. * I ordered this mild and it was fine. * Hubby had the chefs special fried rice with chicken. It was also quite good. He ordered it 'mild' for my benefit, and said that the chili paste they brought (along with 2 other relishes) was not spicy at all. I'll have that for lunch the day after tomorrow.

One of the best Thai food not just in Toledo but anywhere. This is a family owned buisnness and the owners are from Thailand. My wife and I love their pad Thai, papaya salad, and crispy duck all very good. They do not serve alcohol but thier Iced coffee is very good. They do a very good job of spicing the food to your liking, also they have other really authentic dishes that are not on the menu such as frog legs in Basil sauce which turned out to be pretty good.

Let me start by prefacing that I am Thai and have eaten authentic Thai food all my life. Let me also say that this restaurant has very good food. The spice mix is excellent! When I order gang at other restaurants, the taste is muddled and mostly peppers. It's nice to see authentic thai desserts too. The buoy loi is handmade! I also saw on here that they don't serve liquor, but when I went in there was a full bar with beer and wine too. They must have gotten their liquor license since some of these other posts. A pinot noir with some hot curry was just the thing I needed.

Probably our favorite restaurant in Toledo. Love the crispy chicken in ginger sauce and the honey nut chicken. My wife orders the country noodles or drunken noodles. My daughter experiments with all the curries. Thai iced tea is good. We always have the green papaya salad Thai style. We enjoy the friendly waitresses. Be sure to have the coconut ice cream for dessert.

A fantastic place and definitely the best Thai food in town. I worked in Thailand for a summer and this is the closest I've found in the Toledo area to authentic (although Rose Thai is pretty good as well). It has that small diner in a strip mall feel. The staff is very friendly, the portions are generous and the service is fast. I tend to judge ethnic restaurants based on how good their version of the staple dish is. For Thai food that means Pad Thai and Bangkok Kitchen does an excellent job. Beware of how spicy you request your dish (they will also make your dish without spice if you prefer), their standards of spiciness is definitely authentic as well.

We had dinner here on a Saturday evening. We were seated right away at 6:45pm, but the place did fill up by around 7:30. Service was good; nothing noteworthy and that's the way I like it. I ordered the Pad Almond, and it was very flavorful - had a nice (not overbearing) ginger flavor. My one complaint is the spice level. This is supposed to be a Thai restaurant and when I order spice level of "Medium Plus" I expect to be able to feel a little kick. It was literally at the "Mild" level of a lot of other Thai restaurants. So if you like it hot, as for "Hot" or "Hot Plus" - that's what I plan to do next time.

Both food and service were wonderful. The menu has some choices you won't find at every Thai restaurant and you won't be disappointed if you branch out a little. Try the A-10 appetizer for example. The combination of textures and flavors was outstanding.

The Best Thai Food in Town! The people who work here are wonderful. Thai people are known for being charismatic, polite and friendly. The servers here have definitely adopted those social skills. If you are having a bad day, come to Bangkok Kitchen to make yourself feel better. You get more than what you pay for. The prices are very reasonable, and the food is nothing short of delicious. They stick to the traditional style of cooking Thai cuisine. I personally recommend the Beef Lad Na. This is a place that you should try, you can thank me later.

My Thai friends tell me Bangkok Kitchen is as authentic of a Thai place as it will ever get in Toledo; not being Thai myself, I'm going to trust their judgment. In all honesty, if someone were to set a dish of delectable pad thai in front of me, I wouldn't care if it's authentic or not so long as it piques the taste buds. Craving some heat and basil one evening, we schlepped over to W Dussel to see if this place lives up to hype. Of the 3 dishes ordered, the chicken pad prik stood out, followed by the spicy bangkok beef, and lastly, the pad won sen. Clear noodles apparently meant cellophane noodles, my least favorite kind, but the pad won sen simply lacked the zing overall. The chicken pad prik boasted robust flavors of sweet basil and mint. Portion sizes were reasonable, in the sense that even yours truly finished the entire plate. Service, like Anthony K had mentioned, is cordial and gracious. No complaints whatsoever. The last star will come when they decide to switch over to fresh meat in the dishes, as opposed to pre-cooked and then microwaved. The giveaway? Seeing how our orders arrived just seconds after we had placed them. Tsk tsk.

My longtime love affair with Bangkok Kitchen ended tonight. My girlfriend and I took her baby boy out for a nice relaxing meal. We waited for about a half an hour for a table. No big deal considering how busy they were. After we were seated our server brought us water and took our order. Nothing out of the ordinary really. While we waited for our meal we noticed about 4 other tables that were seated after us being served appetizers then their meals and finally they were given their checks. The people behind us even commented on how long we had been waiting. When I went to flag down our server she acted like she didn't know who we were. Finally I got someone's attention and she checked on our meal and told us it would be discounted. Our server never came to check on us after our nearly 2 hour wait. The table was a tad messy due to dining with a 2 year old and she never came to take care of any of the mess. The hostess ended up bussing our table. Later our server brought us our food and offered us ice cream as a consolation for our wait and neglect. I kindly asked to make it right (comp the meal). She didn't think she could do that and responded to me if I was asking for some kind of huge favor. Finally she informed us in a very condescending manner that our meal would be comped. If their mistake would have been handled in a more tactful manner I wouldn't be changing my review from 5 stars to 1. Very disappointed indeed.

Definitely not the best Thai I've ever had. This was a quick stop for me on a road trip through the area and happened to be staying at a hotel nearby and decided to try it out given the other great reviews. Being from Seattle, the Thai restaurants are plentiful and very good. We ordered the Pad Kee Mao and one of the Curry's. The curry wasn't too bad, but the Pad Kee Mao was awful. The one compliment I can offer is that I agree that the spices were done perfectly, the medium was perfectly medium.

By far the best Chicken Pad Thai that I've had. Their lunch deal is great too. I'm addicted to the Pad Thai and will continue to keep coming back here for it. Also their seafood rangoon is pretty good too. If you like Thai food give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Bangkok Kitchen offers decent Thai food with good service at reasonable prices. I don't know what authentic Thai is supposed to taste like, but I've never been wowed by the food here. Not to say it was bad, but it has always been kind of bland for me, that is, good but not great. Maybe I have just been ordering the wrong things. I have been here a couple of times, and I think I got the chicken Pad Normai one time and chicken Pad Almond another. The soup was okay, but not especially memorable. I didn't leave here thinking, "I can't wait to come back!", but I didn't leave unsatisfied either. No complaints, but no big compliments either. A solid 3-star restaurant for my tastes. If you really love Thai food, maybe this place will be a 5-star for you.

A cute slice of Bangkok in midst of Bob Evanses as far as the eye can see. Very authentic food (we ordered two vegan dishes, 3-nut masaman and pineapple fried rice). It's a bit expensive and the decor isnt much, but the staff is very friendly and attentive, and the food is wonderful. Good size portions make up for the $$. Definitely check them out :)
