Every time I go for pizza here in San Francisco, there is something missing--and that is Frank Ferrante's taste and quality. I remember growing up in Perry Township and calling up the original location to order pizza. Frank would pick up the phone with his thick Italian accent, "Ello, Lin-con Whey pitz-ah!" and you couldn't help but smile every time. Every year when he would take a few weeks off to visit Italy, you couldn't get mad at him because he consistently made the best tasting pizza ever from my childhood and very well deserved that time off. Hands down his recipe nailed the two best factors of a pizza--the sauce and the crust. His special sauce is indescribable and always a mouthgasm to endure. I would say the closest a sauce has ever come was Pizza Hut's New York Style sauce, but even theirs was too sweet. Today it is under a new owner and they seem to be carrying on the tradition well. They even have a Facebook page to remind locals of their specials. Lincoln Way Pizza has unique flavor and it was truly an honor to have lived to eat Frank's passion that remained humble and unfranchised for many years. If I wished to have any pizza delivered to me across the country, it would be from here.

I agree with most of what I mentioned in my previous review, but it's just average pizza. The sauce is lacking a bit of flavor. I still like the crust, but it's a bit doughy under the cheese. The toppings are a bit meager as well.

I haven't ordered from Papa Bears since I had my first pizza from Lincoln Way shortly after they first reopened. I couldn't fathom getting my weekly pizza fix anywhere else.

Pretty damn good pizza. They have the mini pepperonis, the ones that curl up in the little bowls... I love that. They're cheap too, and always have coupons in the circular books. Wings were pretty good too, though I'm pretty sure the hot wings were just smothered in Frank's Red Hot. Normally, I would expect their own hot sauce blend, or at least something a little more high end than Frank's, but for the price, I can't complain. They were yummy and cheap and fast, that's all that matters.
