Remezo's has been around for about a year and a half but we just discovered it. We live in Dayton, OH and when we moved here in 2010 we were surprised there were no Greek restaurants to be found in the area. (Gyro places don't count ). Having lived in Columbus we knew of several place there, but Cincinnati now being closer, was devoid of Greek cuisine. So I was elated to find this place especially after browsing their menu online. I will not even consider trying a Greek restaurant if it does not have saganaki. My husband loves dolmades but they no longer have them. Apparently there was a low demand so it was not cost effective to keep offering them. The overall décor does not scream Greece like many Greek restaurants. Meaning it is not decorated in blue and white with Greek columns and large scenes of white washed buildings on the Aegean Sea. I actually like the traditional décor but found this place refreshing with its stone inlaid floors and black lace ironwork in the windows. They utilized white reticular fabric pieces in the high ceiling that resemble small sails. The restaurant is conveniently located close to I-71 and about 1 mile north of I-275 in Mason, OH. Our meals were very good. We started with saganki and I had the souvlaki with chicken and extra tzatziki. My husband had a dish with meatballs and a cumin sauce over garlic mashed potatoes. For dessert we had a crème brulee sampler that features three flavors, one coffee, one fig, and one with ouzo. I definitely recommend this place if you are looking for true restaurant style Greek food.

Wonderfully charming Greek restaurant with friendly, knowledgeable service. The food was great and plentiful. I had the lamb gyros and split a dip platter with my friend. Delicious! Lunch is quite reasonably priced. Can't say enough about the beautifully decorated interior. Romantic, classy, and the food is great too!

The BF decided he wanted a gyro for lunch and asked if there were anyplaces around he could get one. I knew that Remezo was a Greek restaurant and most likely to have what he was looking for. I looked online and say their lunch menu and that they not only had a gyro, but a veggie sandwich. So off we went. Unfortunately, we went on Sunday and they only offered their dinner menu. No veggie sandwich and not a lot of vegetarian dishes outside of appetizer type things. So, I was extremely disappointed. The BF ordered the gyro platter, which ended up not being what he expected. He tried the sage tea and thought it was too strong. I ended up not getting anything, despite the best efforts of the staff to try to force food on me. I don't like having to order off menu and don't think I should have to. I mean, seriously, people eat lunch 7 days a week. Make your lunch menu available, you'd probably get a lot more business in your giant empty restaurant. They did offer to make the veggie sandwich, but I said no, at that point I didn't want it. Also, the brought out complimentary spanakopita. I did, eventually, taste a bite, but the cheese to spinach ratio was way off and all I could taste was the very salty feta cheese. I also ate two of the Greek fries off the BF's plate. Greek fries come with some seasoning and feta. Not sure if I will go back here or not, simply because it would need to be during the week, which means I would need to find someone else wanting to eat lunch here as the BF works too far away. In the end, neither one of us were happy and we didn't enjoy the food or the experience. I am still giving it three stars, because the staff did try to satisfy...but I also don't like feeling forced.

Since my original review from a few months ago, I've been back to Remezo's several times and have become a huge fan. The food is consistently great. Service is always quick and friendly, and all the serves we've had know the drink and food menu well. I made my first trip to the ladies room today, and it's a beautifully designed room, with stone facade walls and great sink area. According to my husband, the men's room is "the nicest smelling bathroom I've ever been in." Dessert continues to be one of the highlights of Remezo's dining experience. I had their signature cocktail this evening, and it was a slightly unusual blend, which always interests me. Good selection of bourbons at the bar, and beer prices are great. This is one of the secret spots in the Cincinnati area that needs to be discovered by more people.

Excellent! Not just because the food and service are excellent (which they are), but because it is so lovely to find a nonchain restaurant that's relaxed and quiet and easy to get into. It has no head-achey gimmick, no stuffy waiters, no screaming kids, no TVs, just lovely food in an unhurried, civilized atmosphere. It's not "trick food," either, not straining to be unique or edgy. Just good quality. A step up (in price, quality, armosphere) from Applebee's or o'charley's or similar.

I had lunch today and was pleasantly surprised.. I ordered the Spanakopita for my appetizer. It was presented very well and had a unique flavor to it. Followed that with The gyro sandwich, served with Greek fries ~ regular steak fries topped with a special seasoning and a generous portion of feta cheese. The meat on the Gyro was nicely seasoned and presentation was well done also. They didn't skimp on the fillings in the Gyro although I have never had a Gyro with a combination of Lamb and Beef. My server, Pia, was awesome. She noticed my company ID badge and called me by name ~ I really like that!

What a great place. The decor is wonderful, the service was attentive and the food was delicious! I would definitely recommend it. It's 40 min from our house but we will make the drive to come here again. If you are craving a gyro come here.
