Classic burger place located in downtown Mason. Wouldn't say there is anything outstanding about it but they make solid burgers/fries. It's a family-friendly setting and great for anyone who wants an all-American meal. I ordered the cheeseburger/fries/drink special and it was around $7.00. Totally reasonable pricing. Had no problems with the service. Overall, it was good.

Cheap and tasty. Not a restaurant that runs through my mind often but a pleasant departure from the normal stops. Good food, nothing spectacular--but if I'm hungry and in Mason I would stop in.

One of my favorite places! The cheeseburger is a MUST!! We also get the hot ham & cheese as well. It's slap ya mama good! Have always heard great things about the Chilli & mock turtle soup, but I've never tried them Also the place has Huedepol on draft!! Kick ass!!!

I came here in search of a great burger after reading such rave reviews here on Yelp. Gotta say the burger was so-so and definitely not the best I've had. I would opt for a BW3 burger before coming back here. That said, I would try some of the other menu selections next. The service was good for the first 10 minutes, but once our order was place we never saw our server again. I had to go on a search for ketchup and silverware on my own. It was definitely a plus that you can get ice cold Hudy here.

Love this place! First time there today, and I'll definitely be back! Good sized burgers, really juicy even well done. Fries good and hot, and a really good deal for the price. $7 for cheeseburger, fries and a drink. Excellent service too. Try it out, you won't be disappointed!

Reminds me of my hometown. A no frills burger in a no frills environment. And it's a steal. It flies in the face of all the $10+ burger joints in town. This place gets it. They understand who they are and who their customers are, and they do not change. They do a few things, and they do them well. I really dig the old school, divey vibe. Where else can you get a beer as your combo drink option? They serve a classic American burger. Don't come here looking for brie, avocado, or the like, just a nostalgic burger experience.

The family and I ate here for lunch today. Yes the tab was $37 with tip, but we are five people. The cheeseburger special is less than $7 and comes with fries and a drink. The burger is juicy and huge! You can tell the meat is fresh. Love the soft rolls! They remind me of fuddruckers in Florida. Service was great and everything was made fresh to order. If you like burgers and/or five guys you'll love Quatman!

Friendly quick service, burgers tasty and fresh. Soups home made and delicious. Outside seating is a plus, Will come back.

Some of the best burgers in town! Stop in Monday, Thursday and all weekend for the cheeseburger, fries and drink special for only $7.50! They also have a pretty decent craft beer selection to compliment your burger! The location in downtown Mason is perfect and the outdoor patio seating is perfect for summer evenings.

My husband and I wanted to try Quatmans being that it is on the list of burger joints to try according to Cincy Mag. So we go to the Mason location on Saturday 8-15-2015. We arrive around 6pm. We notice outside that there were about 11 people at three different tables. So we go inside to place our order and notice about 8 people inside. The waitress says inside or out. No hi how are you or welcome to Quatmans. She ask what you want to drink. We order beer and a pop. We head outside to wait for our drinks. She brings them right out. I told her this is our first time here she goes what would you like, I told her we'd like to look at the menu first. She didn't say anything she just turns and walks away. So we decide what we want and we wait and wait and wait. Everyone inside and out have all eaten. We were the only ones who she had to wait on. After 7 minutes I said we're out of here. My husband goes in to pay for his beer to the same waitress and she said nothing. She took his money and that was that. So needless to say that was our fist and last trip to Quatmans. I don't know who specifically got to chose the 45 different restaurants for this burger list but I find it hard to believe that this Quatmans location is on that list. It looked like a cheap place to get a quality burger. Just saying. That one star at the top is only because I have to choose at least one.

Quatman's is our go-to for great burgers, fast service and a cheap meal. Get the cheeseburger special with a beer! If this place had steak fries it would be perfect.

I love Mason, quiet and beautiful town. And I love it even more because now Quatman Cafe is there. I like it much better to drive up to North instead of going down to Hyde Park. I have had only their cheeseburgers but I think that's enough. The cheeseburger is simple and straight-up. There is no need for extra mayo, complex condiments, or other sauces. Of course they offer basic topping like tomato, pickles, onion, and lettuce. The patty is thick but not too thick. Of course I love Terry's Turf Club's burger, but sometimes I have to fight with the buns and patty to put them together in one bite. Quatman's patty is just enough for a full-bite - it's just perfect size with enough beef. The restaurant has great local feel, and the servers are always friednly. You can enjoy your burger and fries with relaxed atmoshpere. The place have ample space and good number of seats which I like about.

This place is the epitome of good, cheap beers and eats. Two people can grab a decent meal AND leave with a good buzz for like $25 including tip. Burgers and sandwiches are tasty. Menu is kinda limited, but it's always consistent. They always have Moerlein on tap (again, you can't get cheaper beers anywhere!) and the mock turtle soup is delicious!

Great food and friendly service. We enjoyed our burgers and bean soup at this cozy restaurant in the heart of Mason. Good value too. We will surely make a return visit.

Simple and good. That's really the best I have to describe Quatman Cafe and I think that's all that is necessary. They serve simple, good sandwiches and burgers (seriously, get the cheeseburger) along with good fries and chili. I love stopping in for a Cheeseburger, fries and cup of chili. The burger is good, but I can't say great. Everything here is good (and I'll keep coming back) but not great or mind-blowing. They used to have chicken liver sandwiches too, but I haven't seen them on the menu in a long while so I guess they don't serve it any more... But it was a really good sandwich. I kind of miss it. The interior has a bit of a dive/cafeteria feel to it. It's simple (see the theme here?) and casual and doesn't really need any more than that. The staff have been pleasant every time I've stopped in. I'm not sure I could call this place cheap, but it's not too expensive either. The burgers and sandwiches are all around $5 each, and they are tasty but hardly filling. They sometimes have coupons in the local coupon magazines, so if you aren't sure about Quatman's be on the lookout for those.

Neither the atmosphere nor the quality of food nor the quality of service from the original in Norwood Ohio

Tried it one more time. I do not know what they are doing to their burgers, but they suck. Used to be the best well done burger I have ever had, now it's just dry and flavorless. This place is KNOWN for their burgers.

They have pretty good burgers and fries, decent, but its very mediocre, nothing special, but overall the service was good and the food was pretty yummy

Only 1 review? Come on, suburbanites, get your Yelp! on and let your neighbors know about the divey-deliciousness that is Quatman Cafe! I hate Mason with a passion, but there are some things that cannot be avoided (Kings Island and a cousin's soccer tournament, to name a few). If I have to be in the area, you better believe I'm getting a Quatman Cheeseburger Special to help ease my pain. Their burgers are the best in Cincinnati, I don't care what Cincinnati Magazine says. Nothing fancy, just great beef and fresh toppings. I love that you can get a cheeseburger, fries, and a Hudy Delight for $6.19. Winner!

Norwood classic burger comes to Mason! Great burger and friendly service. They make you feel like you know someone that works there. It also has some outdoor seating and a bar. The bar carries old school Cincy classics like Hudy.

The original Quatman Cafe opened their doors in Norwood in 1966 and is still in business today. Earlier this week I had the opportunity to try some of their food in the more recent Mason location. For some reason Mason seems to be the place for restaurants to open their second location, at least that is the case for Blue Ash Chili (which I reviewed earlier) and for Quatman Cafe. I'm totally cool with it though, as it gives me local, non-chain options when searching for lunch outside my office. Nothing special jumped out at me about the outside of the building. It was a rainy afternoon so I quickly parked my car in the rear lot and hustled inside. I used the side door closest to the parking lot, which put me toward the rear of the restaurant. I wasn't sure if I should seat myself and I couldn't find a sign anywhere indicating their protocol. Fortunately some other guests arrived through the front door and found their own table, so I went ahead and did the same thing. The inside of the cafe is fairly large and filled with tables and booths for all size parties. There is also a smaller bar area running the left side of the building, which didn't really seem to fit in the rest of the space. They do server alcohol though, so I guess it makes sense to have a bar. However the main room feels more like a traditional deli and sliced meats are sold by the pound in the back. A served was over to my table right after I had sat down. I asked for an iced tea while looking over the menu quickly. She reported that they had a few complaints about their tea earlier in the day. Since that was the case I gladly accepted the offered bottled tea instead. For lunch I decided to start with a bowl of their homemade bean and ham soup ($2.80) along with a chicken salad sandwich ($5.50). The bean and ham soup came out right away and was served very hot. I don't think I've ever had bean and ham soup before, but this will certainly not be the last time. Decent sized chunks of ham were mixed in with plenty of smaller shredded pieces. I really enjoyed the thick and hearty soup. While enjoying the soup my chicken salad sandwich was delivered. When my order was taken I was given my choice of white, wheat, or rye bread along with lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles. Sandwiches are served with a side of Husman's potato chips. My first thought when the sandwich arrived was that it was a pretty good sized basket of food for less than $6. The chicken salad itself was very traditional but in a good way. The mix was mostly shredded chicken, but there were hints of pickle or celery thrown in. It tasted great and was very filling. On a future visit I think I would skip ordering both the soup and the sandwich for lunch, as it was a little more filling than I typically like my lunch to be. With that said both items were very good and are worth ordering for yourself. Quatman Cafe offers great food for an affordable price.

Quatman Cafe (even the second location in the Mason) is just one of the best burgers in Cincinnati. Their thick juicy burgers are just plain and simple and served with only cheese, pickles and onions (ketchup, mustard and mayo available on the side). They have other specials other than their cheeseburger during the week, but quite honestly I haven't tried them because the burger is that good. They also have a good selection of Cincinnati beers including Moerlein and Hudepohl but haven't had the chance to try these since I've only eaten lunch here. The casual style of just telling the cashier what you ate instead of getting a bill is more like going to your friend's house, eating his food and then asking what you owe him. Such a friendly atmosphere. What more can you ask for?

On the one hand I wonder whether 4 stars for a "burger joint" is realistic, but the more I think about it the more comfortable I am with that rating. Quatman's is about as basic as it gets, but they serve an outstanding burger at an unbelievable price. Pair that with a good local, low priced beer selection; really good fries (that seem to get overshadowed by the burgers); simple, friendly service; and as relaxed an atmosphere as you'll find anywhere; and you CANNOT beat it! Go there for a great, simple meal at a great price.

Wow bro, you can get a good ass burger, fries and a BEER for under 7 bucks? Im dreaming right? I live no more than 2 miles from this place and feel ashamed to say this is the first time ive been. If I weren't working on getting myself into mountain bike shape I would literally go here 3-4 times a week. The atmosphere is even good. I dunno what the one chick has against Mason but most places in Mason have a nice well behaved middle class of people who (most importantly) arent hipsters. If you enjoy paying too much for food and enjoy being around douche bags then by all means hit up another part of town. Covington perhaps?

Great neighborhood pub and burger joint, don't need a menu, just get a cheeseburger with fries and a few Hudys."

Went to Quatman's last evening with my son. Really enjoyed it. The burgers are just the right thickness and is a real burger as opposed to many other places around town. Good flavors, good juiciness and just the right amount of cheese and bun. Fries are your normal fast food fries but crispy and tasty. Some suggestions...please put Heinz ketchup on your tables...there is a Heinz plant right in Mason and you would make much of us happy and feel better about frequenting your restaurant. Plus a premium burger needs premium ketchup...I see your other condiments in their bottles...why not Heinz? Also, I needed more napkins and there were none on the table...I get the whole no waste thing...if you are not going to have napkins on the table then you need more folks coming around asking if you need anything...no where to be found after I got my burger. One last recommendation...do not let the guy that throws the garbage out bring your food out. I saw him tying up and getting rid of trash a minute before he was serving me my food...maybe he washed his hands...but probably should be somebody else. I will go back again as per my rating but I hope the managers read this to make my next experience a 5 star. Enjoy!

I've seen the hype. "Really great cheeseburgers and a relaxed atmosphere." You Yelpers finally sucked me in with the near 5 stars.... Lets get real 'Nati, this is overhyped. Average burger at best. Reasonable prices and slow service (you all call it relaxed). Skip the Quatman unless you want to have a cafeteria burger with a pint of beer on the patio.

Quatman Cafe is a great straight forward burger joint. Location - located in Norwood as well as Mason Ohio. Parking can be a bit dicey depending on the time you go. Both have lots but when full have to search for street parking. Food - have always gone with the special: cheeseburger (now with lettuce, tomato, onion), lots of fries, and a beer (draft no less!). Portions are generous. Very delicious! Beverages - soda, beer, water. Price - cheap! The special is around 6 bucks, can't beat it! Ambiance - typical diner, the Norwood location has a bit more character than Mason. Lots if tvs to watch whatever sports are going on that day. Service - have never had an issue. Very friendly and attentive. If your looking for a quick burger at a great price in a laid back environment you can't beat Quatman!

Great basic burger at a great price, especially with daily specials. Not a ton of crazy toppings like some other burger joints, but if your looking for a classic burger this is your place.

One of my favorite classic burgers in Cincinnati. If you're craving a cheeseburger, make sure to stop by, especially on Monday, Thursday, Saturday. You can get a loaded cheeseburger (with your choice of cheese, they have a small deli) with fries and a drink for $7 out the door! Drink choice even includes draft domestic beer! The hand-formed patties look to be about a half pound, and I always go for the habanero cheese. Feeling like bacon? It's only a buck and they load it up. The fries are crisp, and the meal is filling.

Cute little diner. Counter service, but a server still comes around making sure everything is ok. All staff was very pleasant, place seems pretty clean & enjoyable. Burgers were pretty good, not over-cooked, fries left something to be desired. A bit stale & definitely no seasoning, but there's salt on the table, but since they were so hard, salt just fell right off lol. It was a quick find on yelp, while passing through, & kid wanted a burger, this hit the spot, & didnt break the wallet.

First time back in a long time. Waitress forgot we ordered beers waited 20 mins. Two waitesses behind the bar and one standing beside the grill watching the cook make the food. People appeared lost when looking for someone to help them.

Great for a quick, good burger. Doesn't have the same charm as the one in Norwood, but the food is excellent.

I love both of Quatman's Locations! This is their second location and while it's a little dolled up compared to the Norwood location it has the same great food! You can't go wrong with the Cheese Burger Special and a nice draft beer. At this location you can even get veggies on your special (unlike in Norwood where the right way to eat the cheeseburger is with pickles and if you want to get crazy onions.) If you're in the area and want an amazing burger with a family friendly atmosphere check out Quatman's.

I truly do not know how Quatman's does it. It looks like another hole-in-the-wall diners in the middle of suburbia. Yet every time I leave, I am mentally planning my next trip here (just not on Sundays...they are closed then). I've been a number of times, always telling myself I'll try something new, but I just can't pry myself away from their cheeseburger. It is the perfect down-to-Earth cheeseburger. It looks unassuming when the waitress promptly drops it off, but boy does it pack a punch. The burger is perfectly cooked and juicy. The bun is toasted. The cheese, melty (as cheese on a burger should be). The flavor of the burger is so good that I'm almost happy the fries are a little on the bland side so as to not overwhelm the taste of the burger. And the price! I can get an amazing cheeseburger, fries, and a cold craft beer for under $10. This is the definitive best (simple) burger in the Cincinnati-Dayton area. I always make sure to take visiting friends and family here, and they always share the sentiments I've expressed here. Go get yourself a burger here. Now.

Quatman's in Mason is a great little restaurant. The menu is sandwiches and soups. They have a daily special, which includes the daily sandwich, fries, and a drink. Their hamburgers are good and the chicken salad sandwich is stuffed. They can get busy at lunch, but still are quite quick for lunch or dinner. The kids menu is limited, but there are a variety of sandwich choices that are reasonably priced. They also have a decent beer selection.

A true and honest American grub. Wonderful establishment. This restaurant truly highlights my favorite parts of living in the Midwest. I'm very new to Ohio and the team there provided a wonderful first impression to Mason. You can be casual, pay a reasonable price for tasty-hot-cared-for-grub! I loved that I could kick my boots up and drink an ice cold American lager with a double stack burger made the way I wanted it, no complaints here!

This burger is really a hit and miss. They have other great products not to mention a full deli counter. There chicken salad is really good, I order it on a white bun with tomato, pickle on the side, extra crispy fries, it's amazing. There pulled pork BBQ sandwhich is also very good, only on Wednesdays, and where else can you substitute a combo drink with an ice cold beer. Service is there is you need anything, but they aren't there to wait on you hand and food. It's a cafe people!

Great burger at a great price and a fun, casual environment. The server was very personable although it was slow when we were there. We'll definitely go back if we are in the area.

Holy Moly! I absolutely love the burgers from here, oh yeah and the chili is awesome too! Did I mention that their prices are awesome? Well they are! Come in with $10 and leave so full that you won't eat the rest of the day. Great food, great prices, great atmosphere = a must stop on your food tour of Cincinnati.

Our family loves this place. Simple menu that you can tell is made to order. The kid's menu is pretty standard, but offers enough selection to keep the tykes simple tastes satisfied. If they like cheeseburgers however, that's the only way to go. Cheeseburgers are the name of the game and the cheese selection is excellent. Add some fries and a beer and you will be delighted with the value. Small town look, feel, and service round out the experience and will bring you back again and again. P.S. If it's warm outside, grab a picnic table and sit outside.

2 cheeseburger and fries, 2 beers, 1 bowl of ham and bean soup, all for about $16. The burger was large and juicy, one of the best burgers I've eaten lately. The bean soup reminded me of my grandma's, needed a bit of salt but great comfort food.

  • Jamie P.

We came here. It was overcooked, clearly frozen, and tasted like a generic cafeteria burger from the local high school. Mehhhhhhhh. What a disappointment. Everyone told us this was the perfect burger, but I've definitely got to go for Anderson Township Pub over this. The fries were "meh" and probably the cheapo Kroger brand from the frozen section, the burgers were just... bad. Nope. Nope. Nope.

This is my favorite burger place in Cincinnati. Where else can I go on a Saturday to get a burger, fries, and a beer for $7?! So good. Literally the best cheeseburger ever.

Looking for a delicious burger for not a lot of money? this is it! cheeseburger, fries and a beer for 7 bucks!!!! very casual ambiance and simple menu. Good service and friendly staff. I've never been to the Norwood location, so this review pertains only to the Mason location. Delicious! Great location too, we rode bikes here last week, very cool!

Went yesterday, drove 30 minutes craving a hand patted, greasy, sloppy cheese burger but ended up with a tasteless over cooked frozen patty an a cold bun my wife's hot ham and cheese was better than mine but why would you put hot ham n cheese on a cold bun right from the fridge? Won't be back!

  • Ina V.

This place is super casual, cheap, and delicious. My friend and I came after a long day at King's Island, and it was a great place to go. It is a seat yourself place with a patio, indoor room, and bar. Our server checked on us every ten minutes or so, which was a good pace for us. The cheeseburger I got was delicious and huge. The fries were standard McDonald's type fries so nothing special there but no big deal with the huge burger as a main dish. One thing that was great was that beer was only around two dollars. If I lived around here, I would definitely return for a quick lunch and casual dining.
