How could you not like this place...there's a train that you can eat in! I've only had the pleasure to dine here once but it was tasty. The pizza was really good and the beer selection was excellent! I had the sausage and pepperoni pizza and a cesar salad. Both were great. The pizza sauce was really good and the crust was great. The service was fast and friendly. I'll definitely be back!

Everything I ordered was fresh. It's a bit tucked away and didn't even know it existed until now.

Just moved into the area. $23 for a large works pizza. The guy acted like i should have tipped for take out. Pizza was still doughy, not cooked all the way through. Jury is still out, maybe they have a thin crust style that would obviate the problem. Not impressed, especially for the price

Stopped in after a nice bike ride on the Loveland trail. I ordered a salad while my girlfriend ordered a nice juicy burger (it was quite backwards). The salad was delicious yet a little tiny for the price I was paying. The burger on the other hand, full of flavor and gigantic so I got full off of the rest of her burger. Overall, good find and a nice place to stop in for a beer and food after a nice bike ride.

Went for lunch. Grilled cheese and soup. Good service and yummy food. I definitely need to take the family in. Love the building.

This is a family favorite. The kids love the train, we have 4 little kids so we like that it's kid friendly and when they are loud it's not noticeable. The food is great & has nicer pizza for adults & love love love the spinach and artichoke dip!

This is one of the best restaurants in Loveland. Head for a run or a bike ride on the Loveland bike trail and then have dinner or lunch in this old fashion train station turned restaurant. The environment is very trendy, as it used to be an old train station and sits right near the railroad tracks near the bike trail. In fact, you can even eat in the train car or sit in the sunshine on the patio or inside among all of the trendy decorations. Not only is the atmosphere pretty stellar, the food is delicious too! They are known for their wood fire pizza. My favorite is the Commish, a traditional pizza with pepperoni sausage, but they have several non-traditional pizzas like peanut butter and jelly pizza or chicken Alfredo pizza. My parents claim that they have the best burger in town, as it is delicious! I bring all of my friends who are in town to this restaurant, and I would completely recommended it for anybody who is passing through the quaint town of Loveland.

The Works is a must visit! The pizzas are all cooked in a brick oven, all made to order, and all amazing. They have classic pizzas as well as a few unique themed pizzas. You can get a larger size that several people can share or an individual pizza. The best part is that it's not just the pizzas that are good. Their pastas, salads, and appetizers are great! The tomato basil soup is a personal favorite of mine. The atmosphere is really great since the building is an old fire house. It'a very relaxed and casual. They typically have sports on tv but it doesn't have that "sports bar" feel to it.

Often ride my bike down the Loveland trail and stop here for a bite. Pizza is great, especially the potato pizza, but my absolute favorite is their pulled pork nachos... The chips are homemade and it's enough to share! Nice patio to eat on during better weather.

Pizza was ok. Definitely like the crust but the tomato sauce is not memorable. I would come back and try a specialty pizza with a different type of sauce or other options. More than anything, i am surprised that this place isnt as kid friendly as I hoped. I had to ask for crayons and something to draw on. I was greeting with a beat up coloring book from the dollar store and broken crayons. They also did not have milk in stock for the kids. Hopefully some improvements will be made. Service was fairly fast and friendly.

Try any of the Gourmet pizzas. The best pizza crust I have had except for my homemade pizza huh huh. coolest renovated building idea i have ever seen. Is an old works building for the railroad but looks like a church/schoolhouse/ firehouse from the outside. kind of hard to find because they have a very small sign on building Just notices where everyone is parking and walking to. A must stop if you are planning to ride the Loveland bike trail.

Buyer beware. The works is in a great location and is a cute restaurant, but the food simply is mediocre at best. We live down the street and have eaten here many times. Why? We like the atmosphere...and I guess we're hoping it will be better " the next time". Well, now we've eaten there enough times to know that's not going to happen. If you're looking to grab a beer and relax on the patio, it's a great spot. But beyond that we find it to be very average.

Great original Italian pizza (pasta or sandwiches as well), 24 draft beer on tap (including local breweries), great setting and atmosphere.

Had the Cinncy chili pizza. Pretty good but the chili did have beans which I didn't expect from Cincinnati chili. Apps were standard. Very cool restaurant in an old fire house. Service was a C.

I've eaten here many times. LOVE the food although portions are small. Hate the sticky tables and how HOT the restaurant is in the summer. The servers are usually prompt and professional. If they mess up, they'll make things right.....

Outstanding. Love the reasonably priced make your pizza. We were a party of 11 and the service was great. After working up an appetite biking miles on the trail you can stop in and get a cold beer and a great meal! Awesome for young and old!!

Wow! Super-delicious Italian food. Large portions. Very cool atmosphere. Reasonably priced. Good service. My pizza was loaded with fresh toppings. I will definitely eat here again & would recommend it to anyone. YUMMY!

Great place to visit either while you're on the Loveland Bike Trail, or just want to have some good hearty food, or a beer or two. Truly special pizza when the cooks load up your pie with ingredients. The owners built The Works with a brick oven, so the pizza is brick-fired and it's a bit different. Cooked through and through, it's really outstanding, with a blistered crust. Wife and I are actually working through an addiction issue with their pies, and are presently in rehab but still getting our fix at least once a week, usually with a medium called The Commish. This charming, distinctive building was formerly the Loveland Fire Station and before that a watering station for steam locomotives going through Loveland. Situated pretty much on the Loveland Bike Trail (ok, separated by a small parking lot...), The Works is right in the thick of all things good about Old Loveland. The owners upped the local restaurant ante by installing a new 24-line draft system, and if you're a craft beer lover you're sure to be pleased by more than a couple of their craft brews. All their food is quite good, and you can get anything from a standard app like mozz sticks, to big burgers, all the way up to a semi-gourmet Italian dish. Full bar, incredibly good atmosphere (old character-laden building: shiny, big, clean, and quite unique); nice big patio for 3 seasons, and they even have a railroad passenger car parked on one side of the lot in order to host larger private parties. Lots of families with little ones come in for food and drink, and everyone commingles nicely at The Works, enjoying a meal or drinks in a festive environ. Wood burning fireplace, numerous flat screens for sports, very cool bar layout. The Works works for me.

Well, it's a casual, unique atmosphere. And the beer is cold. They also have an outdoor patio and a rail car with tables for family fun dining. I just don't like the food. If you visit, keep it simple with pizza, beer and bar food. Stay away from grilled fish or the grilled trio. The more complex the dish, the more you are likely to end up with a plate of low grade stable chow.

You won't find a better brick oven pizza. However service has been going down hill fr my last few visits. My last meal was over shadowed by 15 min first drink order. Which turned into 25 min once they finally got to us. My party's salad came after the pizzas arrived. We placed an order for a second round which never arrived before we we left. I really hope they look into better time management. It really is a great place.

As always, very good. I wish I could give a 4.5. Mediterranean pizza is some of the best I have had. Beer selection is always good.

The Works does not kid around. You want the works, they give you the works. This is a monster-sized family-friendly restaurant in Loveland. It's so big, it's somewhat intimidating as you walk up. There are multiple sections of seats, outdoor seating and even seating on a stationary train car they have built into the restaurant... You can guess where we wanted to seat. The staff was quick and friendly. We walked through the building, where the kitchen was open and you could see them making pizzas on the woodfire over, and into the train, where it was surprisingly quiet. The menu is really big and filled with your normal pizza-house fare: Salads and soups, pasta. sandwiches and the pizza. And pizza is the way to go. They make a damn fine pie here, with great sweet sauce, crust that was both chewy and woodfire blackened at the same time and delicious toppings. I tried my friends and it was really solid. I got the steak hoagie which was OK, basically steak, pizza sauce and cheese on a bun and fries. Good but not nearly as good as the pizza. Beer selection is ... meh. Nothing to write home about or really adventurous. One Mt. Carmel on tap for local but beyond that. nada. This is a really nice place for a really nice meal, especially if you're looking to take a giant group. You won't get to sit on the train that way, but it's worth it anyway.

We've been going to The Works for years. Love the atmosphere, food and friendly staff. Location is also a plus, we often ride our bikes and have lunch on the nice big patio. Check it out. Kid friendly, especially the awesome train car.

After visiting many times over the years, I'm saddened to say I believe we've made our final trip. On the way home from our visit this week, my wife and I decided the charm this place once had has been replaced with poor service and higher-than-competitor prices. If you're lucky enough to be seated, you are generally greeted by a friendly and sincere staff wait staff. The problem is, the wait times for food and drink and order taking are well above average and normally patient customers become restless. They don't seem able to concentrate on the basics. Guessing, but they probable have high turnover or too young of a crew. The food is decent, but no better or worse than other choices and the portions are much smaller, making sharing a meal hard to do. This adds up to a much higher than anticipated bill. The atmosphere is hard to beat and the train car is really well done. And in the summer, it's nice to have a beer when the big doors are open. My advice to is enjoy this place only when there are no crowds. While there is a lot to like, they still have a long way to go when it comes to crowd management.

It's always a treat to visit The Works, we've never been disappointed. Tonight I had the Commish. Love the sauce! Their pizzas are also cooked in a wood fired brick pizza oven which has to add a delightful crust. You can't go wrong.

Pretty sure I caught them on a bad day, but my pie was not very good. We got the place's namesake pizza, but it was one big MEH! You can look at my history of reviews, and I'm very generous to give out 5-star ratings. This place came highly rated, but I think I caught them on a bad day, or maybe just the pizza chef made me his worst possible pie. Heavy on the chicken, light on all the other toppings. I'll give them another shot the next time I'm in Loveland, though, because I love the decor and the area.

A few years ago The Works was doing a nice job. I have now given them 3 strikes and they're out. An Italian restaurant should have a nicer wine selection. When I suggested to our server the possibility of a better selection, (they were no longer serving one I ordered off their menu) she said they aren't really and Italian restaurant therefore making the wine selection unimportant. I ordered the house cabernet which had notes of refrigerator on the palette. Reminded me of a red I tossed from the back of the frig recently. The marguerita pizza which used to be my favorite, is now adorned with diced canned tomatoes and everything is hidden by way too much cheese. Not the style of pizza expected. They are local for me, but sorry to say, off my list.

My wife and I ordered personal pizzas. Hers was cool to the touch. Waiter suggested it had come out of the freezer. It was promptly replaced. They never did offer to adjust the check for the inconvenience.

Pretty disappointing. Second visit. Good beer selection, indifferent service, mediocre food - pizza was just okay, my daughter's pasta was super oily. It seems like everyone is just going through the motions without really caring much about the customers. With a little attention to customer service and food quality this could be a great place.

My family and I have been frequent visitors of The Works, though given recent experiences this will change. We visited in December of this year and were disappointed in the ongoing negative trend in service. We waited over an hour for a table (when quoted 30 minutes), and were never actually seated. They seem more interested in developing a cool atmosphere, which they have done, rather than focusing on the fundamentals: good service and great food. The poorly trained, high school aged staff just doesn't seem to know what they're doing, and as a result, you spend too much time waiting for seating, food, and drink. I left this place feeling like I was an inconvenience. And one thing was clear about our departure, they could care less

I went here for a lunch meeting and really enjoyed the ambiance. The soup and the salad was fresh, and the prices were good. My only complaint was all of the bugs that kept attacking us outside, but the server did give us fair warning before seating us outdoors!

A summer staple. Great patio by the bike trail. The pizzas are all yummy (try The Commish!), the salads are huge and fresh and make a great lunch all by themselves. Great appetizers, too. We love the artichoke spinach dip with homemade chips covered in grated Parmesan, and the pretzel sticks with queso.

When we lived in Loveland this was an absolute staple of ours. Now we live 20 minutes farther away, it still is worth the drive. This is a really cool old building. It's an old firehouse that's been converted to a brick-oven pizza place. There's a large bar area with multiple TVs to watch whatever sports are playing. The main dining area is pretty large and open so you can see the wood-fired brick ovens where your pizza is baking. Because it is pretty open, it can get a bit loud in here when things get busy. Perfect if you have loud kids who would otherwise bother the other patrons. Not great if you intend on a quiet intimate dining experience. But if that is what you are looking for, the Works still has you covered. Try to get a table in the old train dining car that is located on the train-tracks that run along the side of the building. In the summertime there is a large patio for outdoor seating. When the weather is nice, they open the garage doors to let fresh air into the main dining area. During peak days/hours, especially when the weather is nice, be prepared for a long wait. This place is no secret. It's located close to the Loveland Bike Trail and during nice weekends, this place will get packed. Hour+ waits are not uncommon. Which isn't all that bad because if you drop someone off at the front to put your name on the waiting list, it'll take you that long to find a parking spot. Parking here can be very frustrating. Spaces are limited and are shared with all of the other shops and restaurants in downtown Loveland, as well as users of the bike trail and local park. During off hours or early in the workweek though you may be able to park right up front, walk in and sit right down. Use the parking situation to help judge how long your wait for a table will be. Once you do sit down, just relax, have a beer and peruse the menu. Always a good selection of beer on tap and they even carry Bells for you Michiganders. I cannot come here without ordering the Cheese & Garlic bread. This is REAL cheesy garlic bread people. Delicious gooey cheese with big chunks of roasted garlic on their wood-fired baked dough. I've tried a few of their entrees but personally nothing overly impressed me so I just stick to what you really should be coming here for... the made-to-order brick oven pizzas. The topping selections are amazing. You can order from their specialty pizza menu or configure just about any crazy combination your little heart desires. Want hotdog on your pizza, try the BallPark. Want scrambled eggs, try the Breakfast Pizza. PB&J, taco pizza... you get the idea. Or if you just love a good traditional pepperoni pizza, start with The Commish and add/subtract toppings as you see fit. Only negative I can say about the pizzas, which isn't uncommon for any brick-oven pizza, is that the edges of the pizza are often a bit burnt for my taste. It's easy to eat around that though and I'm just bringing it up so people know what to expect.

A huge selection of brick over pizzas = thumbs up in my book! If you're looking for a pizza that is on another level, I would definitely recommend The Works. It is one of my favorite pizza places in the city without a doubt. I have had a few of their specialty pizzas and a variety of their appetizers and I always leave feeling full and satisfied. I hear their pastas are great but I haven't tried one yet, because I am too set on trying the pizza each time I come. The environment is awesome, and the huge brick oven is fun to look at while you wait for your food. On that note, you don't have to wait for long since the brick over cooks the pizzas extremely fast!

Probably the thing I liked least about this place is probably out of control of The Works - parking was a complete cluster f**k due to so many people there in downtown Loveland, especially using the bike trail. I hate to say this, but it's time to consider pay parking lots and metered parking in the area-- if people really want to be in the area, they wouldn't mind paying a buck or two, especially when they're probably going to spend a decent amount of money to do some shopping and/or eat out. There was a public lot nearby where clearly people allowed themselves too much space due to the lack of parking space lines. Now, onto the Works itself - I definitely enjoyed my time there, and the food, and even though the place was busy and I was part of a large group, the service was good. The beer menu was informative (and entertaining; "Bud Light: St. Louis Missouri. It's Bud Light") I split a large cheeseburger pizza with a friend, and it featured thousand island sauce like a Big Mac would have (it was definitely off from the Big Mac sauce, but it was a good attempt.) I probably would have gone with a more typical "supreme" pizza, but I think I would try this place again given the opportunity, especially if given the chance to dine in the rail car that's attached to the place (it once served as a water works for steam engines for the Pennsylvania Railroad).

Great place for friends to meet and have a casual dining experience. Fun atmosphere complete with a brick fired oven. We met friend there several times over the years and this last time my wife and I shared a Commish and some house wine. While it was good they left a burned bottom on the crust which we discovered midway through the meal.

  • Lauren A.

This place has gone downhill. The last time I visited, they served me spoiled hummus as a side dish and on my vegetarian wrap. They did replace with fresh hummus but the fact that they're not quality checking their food is not comforting. Their wine selection sucks and their wine list is hardly ever what they actually have. I would hope that a pizza place in Loveland would offer good wines...nope!

I visited The Works on sunny spring weekend. It was nice weather right after a few rainy days, so many people were enjoying the weather and sunshine around the trail in Loveland. I have to say I was very impressed by this place. Very spacious restaurant and historical building with so many table and booths, and there is also a bar section. The server was friendly and answered our questions well. The food.. I love their pizza. Our party tried Margartia and Buffalo Chicken. You can tell that it was cooked in a brick oven when you see the crust is little bit burnt. The crust was very crunch but easy to eat since the crust was not thick. The cheese was so soft that it melts in your mouth. I also found that the ingredients were fresh. Salads and past were okay for me. Nothing special about them. I will come back to this place whenever I am in Loveland. I cannot wait to try their other pizzas with some beers at outside seating in sunny afternoon!!!!!!

We made it a family night to try pizza on the train and we can't wait to bring the rest of our family back. The food was amazing, our service was good and the atmosphere was perfect. My boys were so excited to be eating in a train car! We built a create your own pizza with bacon, chicken and onion and all shared root beer! Perfect spring night out!

Hard to review one of your favs to be honest. The Works in Loveland is one of 2 absolute GEMS in this fine little town (along with Paxtons). Nestles (LOL i used that gay ass term) in the heart of Loveland The Works is pleasantly located (HAHAHA HOW DO PEOPLE DO THIS LEGIT???) next to the bike trail which is so amazing I had to use corn ball terminology to describe just its location. The pizza isnt just typical brick oven, it actually has flavor unlike other brick oven places in town. Its amazing! They have a flavor to fit everyones palate so check it out. In addition its located in an old ass firehouse and HOW FUCKING COOL IS THAT? Their beer selection is extensive with rotating taps and shit. Also be sure to check out the cab car dining area! You can thank me later.

I love the location of this restaurant. It's right off of the trail and easily accessible. The calzones were tasty -- not too much dough, and perfectly seasoned. The food was well priced The service was not great, however. Our waitress was not very attentive and it took a significant amount of time for our food to arrive (45 minutes).

Very cool place They added that train cart which is what we sat in. Very comfortable. We had a really nice server. Very accommodating to my Dad who has very weird beer tastes. He likes it bland. I ordered the Guinness. He took the Yuengling over the IPA. Oh well. The wings were nice and spicy. Pop was sweating up a storm. A great atmosphere and I would believe, a really good place to take a date. My sister and mom got The Commish. Which is seems to be a meat lovers pizza. I took a few slices. Wood fire stuff is always tasty. I recommend this place to anyone visiting Cincinnati.

I took a coworker here for lunch while on one of my food adventures. The location was a little hard to find but really did not have any problems. We ordereda the soft pretzels and cheese (really yummy cheese), a personal pizza, and the meatball sub. The food was really yummy, the watier was nice, and the location was cool (looks to be an old fire house). I always enjoy brick oven pizzas. An awesome place. I guess I will be on my treadmill for the next week while I try to burn all the calories I consumed. Enjoy!

After our stroll on the bike trail Sunday we met up at The Works Brick Oven Restaurant in downtown Loveland. I've eaten at The Works many times in the past, and my parents seem to visit nearly weekly. It, along with the nearby Paxton's, are reason enough to visit Loveland. For me it's always a hard decision to choose between the two, but this time the patio at The Works won out. The Works resides in a building that was built in 1905 and served originally as a water filling station for steam locomotives. Later on, the building served as the firehouse and public works building for Loveland. One of the old garage doors opens up to allow the fresh air to enter the main dining room of the restaurant. Often the wait for a table can be long, but we were lucky to find no wait upon our arrival a little before 4pm, even on the patio with nice weather outside. To start things off, we all enjoyed a Mount Carmel Amber Ale and the sunshine. Later in the evening we ordered a large California Rose Pizza with Rosé sauce, red and green peppers, onions, banana peppers and pineapple. This is one of my favorites on the menu! My dad also loves the very similar California Rose Pasta, which I will have to try sometime. Other pizzas I've enjoyed in the past include the BBQ Chicken, Mediterranean, and Chicken Bianca. On this visit we were also treated to a free order of cinnamon bites in honor of mother's day! The large bowl of bite sized pieces of dough were drizzled with a chocolate sauce and plenty of cinnamon and sugar. All of the food I've tasted over multiple visits has been very good. If I had one complaint it would be the beer list. I like that they support the local Mount Carmel Brewing Company, but I wish they had a few other options on tap. They usually seem to have Bell's Oberon on tap too, but I prefer other Bell's beers. Other than those two, I don't recall any other craft beers on tap.

I wasn't blown away by this place but I was satisfied. I was there with another person to talk a bit of business. Neither of us felt like a pizza so I ordered a calzone. That was the hard part. If you take a look at their menu there is the world "Calzone" and pick three toppings but, for one, Calzones aren't topped, are they? And second, I couldn't find a list of toppings. The menu just goes right into the Sandwich section. When I asked the waitress she seemed a bit put off having to explain it. I guess it's a place for locals. The calzone was OK. Nothing that blew my top off at all. Next time I'll try the pizza. I did like the atmosphere however. A nice place and clean. They do have TV's but I'm not going to do my usual star deduction for that because they seemed appropriate here.

Located right near the loveland bike trail this place is unique with the train car that they turned into extra seating. The food is sub par at best. The veggie wrap is just slopped together and the wrap is usually busted. The side of fruit (which in the summer should be fresh) but nope it's straight out of a can. The food in my opinion is WAY over priced for what it is. However the service is good, but the decor is really the best part of this place.

If you come here on a nice evening weekend, beware that parking is a pain in the a$$. Seriously. This is Loveland. Why did I feel like I was back in Chicago battling for street parking near Wrigley Field? Anyway, this is a nice, big restaurant. Plenty of space for large groups. They had a good kid's menu, and they had a lot of unique pizzas I haven't seen before... breakfast pizza, potato pizza, PB&J pizza. Unfortunately I ended up ordering my usual thing because my husband is a picky pain in the butt and didn't want to order anything new. If we come back, I'm getting the potato pizza! My friend said it was great!

We ventured to this place on a Thursday evening recently. The building is unique and different. There were four people in our party. My wife ordered a personal pizza and chose The Mediterrean Pizza. She absolutely hated it. The pizza was very dry and had no sauce on it which the menu did not state. She asked the waiter for a side of sauce and was still not impressed. I tried the pizza and she was right, it was below average. My in-laws and I ordered a large Works pizza. I must say it was good. The pizza has a nice sauce with pepperoni, ham, mushrooms, sausage, onions, etc. It was good and very moist. My wife tasted and thought it was very good. She doesn't like meat on pizza, hence the reason for ordering the other subpar choice. This is by far not the best pizza that I have ever tried. The service was good, but the beer choices could be better. They offer too many traditional beers and not enough micro-beers. The prices are pretty reasonable. I will return to this place, but most likely not often due to my wife not being a fan. This would be cool place for an afternoon beer and personal pizza. I give it 3 stars.

Pretty decent pizza place, nothing super special about it other than the brick oven aspect. The pizza is pretty good, the decor is alright, it is a big limited in space if you eat inside, parking is a pain as well, but over all a good place.

Great pizza. The pretzel rolls are awesome. When the folks from my office go for lunch we have to order some for all. the menu is fairly diverse so if you aren't looking for a great wood fire pizza there is probably something for you. I go for the pizza, so I can not comment on the other food. The bar always has a nice selection of draft beers. The are a few big screens in the bar area if you want to watch some sports while you eat and drink. The building is unique as it is an old public works building that is now a resteraunt. There are roll up doors that they open when the weather is nice with access to a patio area to eat. This is close to the Loveland bike trail so you can go for a nice walk along the Little Miami River before or after your meal.

When I think pizza I think hell to the yes as I'm mildly overweight and have less than desirable eating habits. So when a friend said she wanted pizza for dinner I did a little happy dance in my mind and adamantly responded yes. I wanted to try some place new as I've had more pizza in my life than Buddy LaRosa and have grown tired of all the pizza chains. We decided on The Works because apparently it's been listed as one of the best in Cincinnati and I'm here to say that they didn't disappoint! The Works is located along the Little Miami River and Bike Trail which is awesome for the ambiance of the locale but irrelevant for me personally as I can't see myself riding a bike to get pizza even in the direst dietary circumstances. In all seriousness I was nothing but impressed by the location and the actual building itself. The Works appears to be a fire station from the outside and my suspicions were confirmed when we were sat at a booth right next to one of the firehouse garage doors. Everything about the inside was awesome with the highlight being the glowing fire coming from the brick oven in the kitchen which was visible from the dining room. We ordered a couple appetizers and one pizza to split. The food was money. The spinach dip was delectable and served with fried pizza dough for dipping. The wings were plump and hooterific. And our pizza was hot with fresh tasting ingredients and a general wow factor to it. Definitely the best pizza I've had in some time! The service was just okay. Our waitress was not very friendly but made up for her transgressions by keeping drinks full and serving our food correctly. In the end, I was so full of cheese and sausage and sweet tea that I was as happy as a pig in a poke (not sure if pokes really make pigs happy but for the sake of my simile please imagine that it does). I look forward to many return visits to The Works and maybe one day I'll even ride my bike there (that's never going to happen).

Impressive! The building is very unique, special and fun with additional dining in their train car! With a 45 minute wait on a Saturday night, we decided to hit the bar. We ordered the $5 Pama Rita, which was generous with alcohol! A steal for $5! We ordered the fried pickles to start and were NOT disappointed because it just so happens they serve them my favorite way!! Spicy pickle spears with ranch for dipping. Perfection! Ok, the pizza! I was intrigued by The Ballpark and knew I had to try it. Take a guess? Yes, hot dogs are involved! Chopped hot dog, pepperoni, onions and a garlic mustard sauce in lieu of pizza sauce. It was so different, but they hit it out of the ballpark...hardy har har. We also tried a California pizza that had red, green and banana peppers as well as pineapple. It was also different and I really enjoyed it. Our experience was great! Although our waitress was very busy and seemed to lack personality, the manager was roaming around and hit our table a couple of times. He was very friendly and made sure we had what we needed. I'LL BE BACK!

Again ,for the people who actually take off stars for not being able to find a parking spot?? Seriously?? Yea you guys are on to something... Places that are busy all the time usually have terrible food and suck ass. And for the dude who has like 300 reviews in one year and said that you almost took off a star because they had tvs? Please punch yourself and your wife/ husband for marrying you.... The building is sweet. Its an old fire house from back in the Lincoln days or something. They added a train car to the building that you can sit in which I think is pretty sweet ass and the patio in the summer cant be beat. Beer is cold and delicious of course. Pizza is delicious. Steak Hoagie is whatever...

Im not a huge Pizza fan, however the works is a nice escape from your "average" pizza. My favs are the Chicken fajita pizza and the BBQ chicken.

A Favorite of Mine If you are around the Loveland area and have not tried The Works you need to ASAP! This place is great every time. The setting is AWESOME! The building is from the early 1900's I believe, and served as the Loveland Firehouse for some time. The outdoor patio area is really nice during the fall and summer. They have a very nice OPEN layout which I love. They have a really nice bar area with huge TV's so catching the game is never hard to do while you are there. They also have great live music that comes through from time to time which is another really cool touch. The food is great, and when you're working with a brick oven you're good in my book! The pizzas are great, the Italian Hoagie is awesome and so is the Cod Sandwich, and the pastas are always a hit! The servers and bartenders are great and cool to chat with. Parking is not the best, but the food, setting and experience make up for it! Definitely check these guys out!

Great local pizza place! Nice bar too! The Works has nice atmosphere with good menu selections. I go to drink at this bar sometimes with my friends. Almost all of the bartenders and waitresses are nice here except one. I really enjoy the pizza here, my favorite is the fajita pizza. The pizza I don't like here is the chicken with Lemon and the mushroom with pesto. The creme brulee is wonderful!! If you like fresh tomatoes on you food you have to ask for them or else they will give you canned tomatoes (yuck!). The chicken fingers are a disappointment too! The menu is also very pricey! Bathrooms are very nice. They have a nice waiting area. Nice outdoor seating too.

I'm updating this review. This place, while known for brick oven pizza, has one of the top 5 burgers in Cincinnati. It's perfect, it's delicious, it's bacon-y. Seriously. The atmosphere here is pretty neat. There is a giant fire blazing in the kitchen that you can see from pretty much anywhere you sit. There are large tables in the middle for big parties, or quaint booths for couples. But, forget all that....Eat "The Works Burger" It's juicy, delicious and everything that you'll ever want a burger to be. Trust me, I know a good burger, and THIS ONE IS TREMENDOUS! EAT IT! ...and, according to my wife, the buffalo chicken pizza is also pretty good. You'll have to read a review from her on that thought!

It is very conveniently located to the bike trail, though I admit you have to know where to look as it is at the back of an adjacent parking lot. Once you see it though, you can't miss it. It's a big red building on the opposite side of the trail from Blue Chip Cookies. They have a nice outdoor patio that looks to be a great chilling place in the Summer. There is limited seating though, so keep that in mind. They appear to have a decent selection of alcohol. This time around I only had appetizers and water though. I was very happy with the 3 cheese focaccia and tomato basil soup. The bread and cheese were great, but there really isn't any bruschetta like they claim on the menu, just a few pieces of tomato. The balsamic dressing is interesting, though I think I prefer to dip in sauce or add bruschetta on top. The soup had flavor, but was a bit thick and creamy for my taste. They basically use their tomato sauce and just add cream. I think it is better on a pizza. It is very casual and for us, this meant slow service. So, if you are in a hurry, I might take that into consideration. The building itself is cool and the history of it adds to the atmosphere. I plan to go back and explore more of the menu in the future.

Delicious pizza. We had the Works Pizza. Big space but good ambience. Beer prices were decent (~$4-5).

Don't ever book a group reservation at this place. We planned an event which ended with about 35 people all meeting at the Works for a late lunch. We made the reservation three weeks prior to the event and reconfirmed two weeks prior. People drove from all over the city to meet for this lunch. When we showed up, the restaurant had no reservation. Upon investigation it was discovered that they confused our reservation for a similar size group. In any case, there were no tables for our group. The hostess staff was somewhat apologetic but really did nothing but give us excuses. They offered no resolution other than giving us tables as they opened up.and did absolutely nothing to keep our business. Separate small tables scattered around the restaurant and having people get seated at different times was no way to have a formal event. We ended up taking our large group to LaRosa's. Our group will never go back to The Works again and I would caution anyone from considering using them for an event or a large group.

I don't venture out too Loveland too often, but it's been in my head for months to get out to The Works for some brick oven pizza, especially given Cincinnati's dearth of excellent pizza options. For The Works, its juuuuuuust a little short of being totally awesome. I dont know what it is around here, but so many places make pizzas that are just flat discs all the way out, with no cornicione (or puffed up end-crust). That for me really shows off the quality of the dough, and is a big miss. Otherwise, the pizza is really good. The cheese is fresh and garlicy, the sauce is vibrant and tangy and they have plenty of good tasty toppings (although they put them under the cheese, I like mine on top so the toppings, esp pepperoni, can crisp up). The hot brick oven makes sure the underside of the pizza gets a proper blistering. The oven is gas powered, which allows for consistency, but you lose some of that flavor if they were to use wood or coal. The menu has lots of other options to choose from besides pizza too, we had the pretzel appetizer that came with a cheese sauce, and it was totally addicting. The pretzels, I assume and hope, were also cooked in the oven as they had a great crisp outside and soft fluffy inside. I wanted to get a 2nd order. Plenty of good beer to go with your good pizza. The space is very cool, just feels very rustic with lots of brick and wood to go along with all of the exposed heavy duty doors and ironwork. You can see the oven, which is a must for any self-respecting brick oven pizza place. The only drag was that the service was half asleep, but considering i was dealing with the aftereffects of a beer too many from the night before, an overly bubbly server probably would've made my head explode. All in all, the works is a really cool place, situated unfortunately for me way too far away in cracker-ass loveland to make it a regular stop, but i'll probably make the trek once or twice a year.

This has become one of our favorite restaurants, period. My wife raves about the Alfredo with Mahi Mahi, and everyone she's recommended it to loves it as well. I love the pizza, and they also have an amazing chicken caesar salad. I don't think there's anything we have missed on yet. It's very family/kid friendly, yet not in a way that would annoy you if you don't have kids. The building is an old firehouse (I believe), and it's a unique and interesting atmosphere. Often see the owner mingling with guests. There's some outdoor seating in the warm months. Located right by the bike trail, so nice to take walks after dinner. My only complaint is it's sometimes too busy and hard to find parking. But hey, what are you gonna do! A+

It's more than just Pizza! The Works offer all kinds of dishes with such variety that even picky eaters will find something they like. Of course there;s the brick-oven pizza, what they're known for. And it's really good. You really can taste the difference between this kind of pizza and the normal delivery pizzas. And the dishes aren't all Italian either. Their appetizers include they typical food you'd expect to see, like chicken wings, loaded tortillas and cheese sticks, but then they also have 'nicer' appetizer options that you may not normally see everywhere else. These include toasted ravioli, potato cakes (with bruschetta!) and my favorite, their pita chips and hummus. Entrees include everything from any kind of pizza you can think of, a wide variety of pastas, and tons of sandwiches. They also have an amazing selection of salads, and I highly recommend their house salad. ( Mixed greens tossed with apples, mandarin oranges and mozzarella cheese topped with sunflower seeds, golden raisins, and dried cranberries. Served with basil vinaigrette.) As someone who recently made the switch to a vegetarian diet, dishes like this make the switch much easier, and just as delicious! The atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice. I forget what exactly the building used to be (maybe an old water works plant?)I'm sure someone on here knows and correct me, but I assure it looks really cool inside! It's nice and open, and on warmer nights they have outside seating. The staff have always been friendly every time I've been. If you don't have time to eat-in, they also do carry out, which my family and I take advantage of often. They're pretty quick about getting the meals made, and telling you an accurate time to pick up the food, so it's not cold by the time you get home!

I have dined many times at The Works and enjoyed Saturday night with a party of 12. Kelly was our waitress and has always been great. Pizza was very good and we tried many sandwiches of which everyone had positive comments. The burger and Mahi sandwich were some favorites. The pastas are delicious and my young daughters love Works mac & cheese and butter noodles. They should repair / add to the game room / wait area. Great atmosphere.

I'm a sucker for a good wood-fired pizza, and they're about as good as they come at The Works. After spotting the restaurant nearly a year ago, we finally got around to giving it a try, and I am scolding myself for not having made the move sooner. Four of us spent a gorgeous summer evening on their outdoor patio (featuring particularly comfortable patio chairs), and enjoyed two large pizzas - The Commish (sausage, pepperoni, various meats ... man food) and The Mediterranean (feta, black olives, spinach, artichokes) along with the three cheese focaccia. One person added an antipasta side salad, and in addition to being quite large for a side, it looked really fresh and tasty (if you like that sort of thing). While this was more than enough food for four, I spied a plate of gorgeously fat onion rings and some sort of loaded fries with ranch dipping sauce at other tables, mentally adding to the order for next time. Top off the dinner with homemade ice cream from Loveland Sweets, and you have the perfect evening.

I'm not sure what the rave is about. The pizza is ok. The bubbly mozzarella with the burnt spots is good. That's how I like my pizza. But the dough is very dry, and heavey. My other issue is the service. From what I can see all servers and pizza chefs are teenagers and it feels like it. I did not see one adult at work there. Our waitress was young and in a rush, no hospitality. It felt like we were intruding on their Sat night. We sat by the oven and it looks like the place could use a good cleaning too. The building is cool and I can see why families would like it. I love the story of the place too; local owners who grew up in Loveland. The ingredients are all there for a super fantastic place but it falls short . Overall mediocre pizza, uninspired menu and below average service.

We've been to The Works several times and have to say it is easily one of my few favorite places to eat in Cincinnati. The chicken fajita pizza is heaven, although I'd imagine that with their pizza crust all of their pizzas would be incredible. To make your meal even better: their appetizers are all tasty (Toasted Ravioli is my favorite) have a smaller but good selection of local and microbrews (I'd recommend Mt. Caramel Copper Ale), and the wait staff is always incredibly friendly. The location is a little hard to find (it is behind Paxtons and overlooks the Loveland Bike Trail), but this is definitely not a place you want to miss if you like pizza!

Loveland is lucky to have great pizza choices. The Works is a great pizza place with a fun unique set up and outdoor seating. I love the crust and sauce. The salads are good. My criticism is that the appetizers do not get the same attention as the other menu items. I always look forward to a good Works pizza. It is right next to the bike trail and park, so it is also good for a little after dinner walk.

Its terrible! Don't ever go there! Ok, I'm lying because I want to keep the crowds down. One of the best pizzas in cincinnati, if not the best. Only issues I have with it are the crowds and the noise. I can't believe I've lived 5 miles away for 8 years and never knew about it. It is kind of hidden.Rt

Although I love the location since I live nearby... I just don't get the great reviews of this place! I've been a couple times now hoping it will get better... I will say what this place is known for - the pizza is disappointing! The texture and crust is good.. But the sauce is so bland... The cheese has no flavor! A truly mediocre pizza. However, the pastas are good, and apps are fine. Definitely prefer paxtons, but to each their own! Atmosphere is a small town feel, and uniqueness is a plus.

We've been here several times now, both as a couple and with extended family, and it has never disappointed. Really love their house salad. Great to start with. As a vegetarian, I appreciate all the options available for pizzas, pastas and other dishes. I especially like to go here because it's a real family place. It's great to see families of all generations eating and having fun together. Last time we were there, a group of about 16 girls who were having a party. It was great fun watching them enjoy the time together. If you go on Saturday night, go early or be prepared to wait. Can't remember if they take reservations. We've waited a few times just because their pizza was exactly what we were looking for!

I don't get 4 or 5 stars at all. Bathrooms are horrible - while we were there women were waiting for toilet paper, staff is all high school kids some try hard but many are inept. My bill came back without my credit card then try to explain that to a disinterested barmaid. Finally another patron found it on the floor of the place and tracked me down. I like thin crust pizza and they do it well. Though many tables were empty we could not be seated since they were not cleared of debris. Parking is fair with the place hard to find. The place needs updating.

The Works is a great gourmet wood fired pizza restaurant. Located in a renovated firehouse, near Historic Loveland, The Loveland Bike Trail, and other local amenities, The Works offers casual dining and a full service bar. The appearance of the restaurant is unique, and clearly casual, featuring (very) tall ceilings and large wooden booths/tables. One of the old firehouse garage doors operates, and is opened during seasonal weather to reveal outdoor patio seating. The menu features not only many gourmet varieties of wood fired pizza, but also many non-pizza entrees and a full selection of appetizers. The full service bar that surrounds the brick oven is complimented by large flat-panel televisions, making The Works a great place to relax and enjoy a professional sports game. I would guesstimate the average price for one person to be $7 to 15, depending on the order. For casual dining in Loveland, it doesn't get better than The Works in my humble opinion.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
