New to area, recommend by locals, it was very good. It's small, go early, good happy hour deals. Fun beers and nice staff. We will be back!

Buck's is always a great go to when my wife and I can't agree on a place. The food is really good. The atmosphere is good. I highly recommend giving it a shot. They have great fried mushrooms. Not the prepackaged frozen kinds most places have. We've eaten there several times, and each meal we've eaten has been great.

This was our second time there and the food and service were great! Great menu selection, everyone will find something they like. Everyone is super friendly. It's a bit expensive! My son wanted to upgrade his side from fries to a side of Mac and cheese (basic Kraft), and although I was expecting an up charge, I wasn't expecting a $4 up charge!! Ridiculous!! We'll go back but won't be changing any sides, the foods expensive enough as it is!!

You know you have found a gem when you can openly laugh at an obviously awkward moment that you share with the staff. Enter Buck's which looks like an average run for the mill bar located in the middle of a strip mall. One thing learned from Florida which is the land of the strip malls, never judge a book by it's cover. Once you walk inside you are greeted with a friendly establishment. It's actually a super cozy place that could easily be a regular post if I lived locally. There are stylized antlers on the walls, fair seating, a wide selection of food and a decent selection of beers. For this visit, I was with two dear friends and we opted to sit in the bar area to catch up. Me and a friend ordered an IPA where another ordered a stout. As long as there is a hoppy IPA on tap or in a bottle we are good to go. We perused the menu and I have to admit I was a bit taken back. For a bar, the fares are delicious so anyone will find something to their liking. Burgers, of course. Sandwiches--hello Shrimp Po'Boy. Salads, who can deny a Chopped? The apps looked intriguing but we kept things simple. And by simple, this included Mac and Cheese. Even at a distance you can smell the gooey bowl of dairy goodness, and it's ever tantalizing. I didn't indulge but my dining companions did and it looked heavenly. I was bad and went for the Po'Boy, which was good but a bit over fried. Still delicious though so I'm not complaining. I'm not one for a lot of bread, so I wound up eating most of the sammy fillings instead along with the fries. During our meal, we were mid-conversation when the server came round and stood at the end of the table. Not interrupting, just stood there while we were talking. When we noticed she was there we all sort of had that look in our eyes, we've all been there. It's like getting caught with your hand under your shirt fixing your bra or adjusting yourself n public. We've all been there. Anyway, when we turned to her she just stood there for a minute without saying anything and then launched into a seriously laughable monologue about awkward moments. She turned a weird moment into a large tip, and for that, I can't say enough about the service at Buck's. The visit was memorable, absolutely hilarious and gives light to why so many people love this place. It's pretty great and a fun way to spend your meal/drink/nightout/whatever.

Bucks is a true neighborhood gem. The food is great and service and staff so nice! Pretzel sticks are to die for!! The menu has great sandwiches, salads, and even fish wraps. One of the servers makes the desserts and they are so good that alone is worth the trip! Dont let the strip mall location fool you.

Bucks tavern is the place to be. I know everyone has different taste but bucks has got it all from salads, burgers, chicken, fish and to die for chicken tenders!!! They are hand battered to order and served with home made honey mustard. I am hooked! The staff is awesome and very friendly! The owner Dan is pretty cool too.... We like to go to family owned places instead of corporate restaurants. Also Monday thru Friday's from 3-7 pm all appetizers are half off and drink specials too. It's a must try!!!

No kids tonight so my wife and I thought we should check out something new. When we walked in we were pleasantly surprised by the decor and atmosphere. This is not a "north woods" dive as the name "Buck's Tavern" implies. This place looks great inside! That said... Our enjoyment sort of went downhill from there.... Despite very few patrons, once seated we were slow to be greeted by a server. In fact, folks who came in after us got greeted/drinks before us which set an odd tone. I got the sense they were regulars but it did give us a chance to scour the menu. Many items but but seem overpriced...maybe big portions, we ask ourselves. When our food arrives wife wife's entree was incorrect. Instead if saying "sorry" we got an earful from the argumentative waitress who adamantly told us she "never writes down the wrong thing". Suddenly the $3.00 for instant ice tea felt "over the top". Sorry...we feel there are plenty of other restaurants are for our next night out.

The food is above average for bar food, the issue is that it is also overpriced a bit. Service was ok and the crowd/atmosphere was ok, just nothing special to get me to eat there again.

my wife and I love this place. The prices are reasonable, and the happy hour appetizers are great. The pretzels are what they are known for, but their nachos, quesadillas, and artichoke dip are good as well. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is warm.

My husband and I came in with a group of friends last eve. (Tuesday 8pm) It is about the 5th time we've been to Bucks in two years. We don't live near bye, approx 25 min away. Food has always been good. Some may have given a poor review, which is sad, because this place has great food. I work for big pharma, and travel. I have tried food in many bars, and this is wonderful food compared to many bars I've been to. What I enjoy is it does not taste like chain food restaurants. It is a smaller place, decorated with a lodge type feel.. Fire place/deer head over mantel, nice wall sconces around the room...Last night, three of us had the Smoked Gouda Grilled Chicken Salad...we loved it. Good size, fresh and and great flavor! I definitely would order it again! One of our other friends always orders the club and loves it. I had their sandwiches the previous times and they were all good. Definitely better food than than other bars. Don't expect the chain food experience. It is not a chain restaurant atmosphere and their food is not prepared or tastes like chain restaurant food. I appreciate that actually and so do my friends! Laurie our waitress did a great job with her service last night!

Cool place to hang out and catch up with friends. This place is worth the visit for the happy hour specials as the food is good and the service excellent. The only drawback is limited amount of craft beers available. One cool notable thing is that there is a Ms. Pacman and Galaga game.

It's great to have a non-chain place to get a good meal close to home. Bucks is always our go to place on weeknights when we don't feel like cooking. I love the salmon salad and the turkey burger!

What a local gem. I had a business lunch and the food was great, the menu is eclectic and the waitress was so knowledgeable, friendly and attentive.

Love the grilled cheese! Honey and basil go great with the havarti cheese. Not a combo I would think of but tastes amazing! I come here just for that anytime I'm in the area. Suggestion- get it on a pretzel bun. You won't regret it.

Good: Food Bad: Beer selection (terrible) Prices (somewhat expensive) Service ( the worst I've experienced in quite a while. The bartender guy and the male server we had the two times we went were absolutely horrible. The worst personalities and just rude. The bartender that waited on us on 1-27-13 had about 5 people at the bar and acted like he was slammed. Hurrying us along, being very short with us and just a plain smart ass. If the owners read reviews on yelp I will tell you if I see this guy working again I will turn around and go somewhere else. When I asked what beer they had on draft ( which is only 4) he got an attitude and said here they are on our menu. Really? You can't just tell me? I really could go on and on. I am just very disappointed because I just moved to the area and needed a nice friendly bar to go to. This is not it....

It's a great place for me. I tend to categorize all the restaurants and bars for my purpose of visit. It can be food, location, atmosphere, beer selection, and etc. For the Bucks Tavern, I go there whenever I would like to sit back and relax watching some games. Then beer selection does not much matter because I would be fine with domestic drafts. But I cannot speak for the food since I only had wings and a sandwich I cannot remember the name - probably one of the chicken sandwiches. The sandwich was not impressive since I don't remember about it. But the wings were delicious, big and juicy. I will try more food items as I visit there more. Also I want to point out that the staff is very friendly. and the service is attentive. I never had to wait to order or for a refill. The owner Dan knows how to run a local business. He greets and chats everyone visiting the restaurant. I feel he cares about his patrons. No wonder the restaurant was full with local families of various ages. So bottom line is the tavern is a great local place with a great atmosphere and clean look although there is no 'wow' factor as a bar.

delicious! Me and my fiancé's family go there at least once a month! His parents love the blackened chicken sandwich however our favorite is the steak sandwich. The sauce that they put on it is to die for. It's a full steak cut up with lettuce and tomato simple yet amazing. They also have amazing margaritas. Only wish it was a little brighter inside

My version of a great bar is based on location, beverage choices, and decent bar food. Well, Bucks is maybe one of the three. I recently had lunch here on a Monday afternoon. The place was dead which is expected. The location is in a mini-strip mall which I hate strip malls. Inside, it is a clean place but the ambiance is just not there. I drink Blanton's single barrel bourbon. They do not carry this. So, I thought about a nice micro-brewed beer. I knew that it was going to be bad when the selections on draft were all domestics. The beer menu was not impressive at all. I almost left, but decided to order some food. The menu is very small but the bartender suggested wings. The wings come in 6, 12, 24. I ask why????? The standard is 10. The wings were very good, but pricey. The 12 wings were $12.00 and this did not include fries. This place is just not for me. It is more of a "good ole boy" type place. I will not be going back and I suggest if you like character in your watering holes, stay away too!

We go here quite often. I love the club sandwich which I can never finish. I know it is just a bar but wine choices could be better and is over priced. The house wine is terrible. Service was good and once again I've never been disappointed in the food. Due to its popularity I wish it was larger as it can be difficult to get a table on the weekend.

Creative and tasty high end bar food, good service, relaxed ambiance, and engaged ownership. You'll enjoy this place. For a date, a casual family meal or hanging with friends. Beer selection is excellent. The Bourbon cask beer is a value.

Went back today. Had $6.50 fish tacos I pay $4.00 for in another bar I frequent but there it is tuna not breaded ? The fish content was sub finger size. 4 beers on tap I did a stout - $6 for a glass of beer. Our meal today three people with the following - 2 small fish tacos, a salad (out of a bag), a toasted cheese sandwich with fries, 2 beers and a plain ice tea rang in well over $50. Owner is a nice guy but the place is not at all competitive. Just not at all excited to go back, seems laborious. Why today? Daughter had not been there in over a year. It will be a while.......

The interior of the restaurant was nice...I got the burger and it was just okay. Not a big fan of the fries either. I would try it again one day and just get something else.

I recently read a positive review of this place and decided to give it a try. Well, I wish I remember where I read the review because they were WRONG. The place is new and has nice atmosphere - small but nice. The small, limited menu consists of bar food. I thought, "I like bar food". Well not this bar food. I got a fish sandwich and the wife got a burger. The food simply lacked taste, the bun tasted like it was right out of the bag, and the "seasoned" fries were soggy and didn't even have salt on them. I then noticed that we were the youngest in the tavern.(We're in our 40's). Maybe this is supposed to be bland and pre-chewed for the seniors in the area? Pricing was expensive for what it was. Figure $8 to $10 each for an appetizer or sandwich. I usually judge and tip service based on how long it takes to get my pop/soda refilled. Twice tonight it sat empty and the waitress was nowhere to be seen. Maybe this place does a better bar business after the dining hour. I can't speak for that. I just know I won't be back to eat ever. There is much better bar food in the area (Putter's and Eli's come to mind first)

My favorite "watering hole"...it's like my very own "Cheers". The food is above the norm for bar food, the staff is attentive without being overbearing, and the prices are well within the norm. Great TV set up, and they'll change the channel at your request (they put up the Weather Channel for us during the storms the other day!). Stop by for a great time!!!

We like Buck's for a casual dinner and a cocktail. We have had the soft pretzels with beer cheese (really great!) and the chicken tenders, which are definitley hand breaded and fantastic! My husband and a friend had the sliders platter and he said they were great. The grilled cheese is a sandwich I dream about... it's havarti, fresh basil, tomato, and a drizzle of honey on wheatberry bread... awesome. My husband says the Chicago beef sandwich is really good. The only thing so far that we have tried that we weren't completely sold on was the turkey burger. It was a bit gamey, you could tell it was a lot of dark meat...just too strong.

I stopped in for a beer and a snack for happy hour. The appetizers were really good. I had some nachos and a pretzel with cheese. I wouldn't want to eat the pretzel at any other time than happy hour because it costs $7.00 for three fresh baked pretzel sticks. Appetizers are 1/2 price until 6:30 or 7:00.
