This place never disappoints! We try to eat here every time we're at our place in Hideaway Hills, just because we crave it. We've been eating here for over four years now, and it provides consistently great food and service. I particularly love the fillings used for menu items such as the chimichangas -- delicious! However, we've never had bad experience here; it has all been good!

Ate here since I am in town for business tonight with a coworker. Food was good aside from guacamole and finding a hair in my food....

Great margaritas in Lancaster! Close quarters and loud .... But the food is worth it !

I live in Lancaster and eat here a couple times a month. We are always served quickly and efficiently. I have never had any problems with slow service. The food is always good and the margaritas are excellent! I recommend you get a jumbo if you are not driving. Yes, it is standardized American Mexican fare., but there are very few authentic Mexican restaurant to be found anywhere. The only time I have actually ever had authentic Mexican food was when I was in Mexico. Lol. The restaurant is always clean and the atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant. it does get crowded but that is because it is very popular with the locals here in Lancaster.

Very Americanized "Mexican" food. If you want to be as fat and bloated as the rest of the residents of SE Ohio, go here and eat a ton of crap. I am surprised they don't serve sides of cigarettes to keep up with the unhealthy demand of consumables within this depressed community. The chips and salsa are the safest bet here. Living in the southwest I am spoiled with great Tex-Mex, New Mex, Taquerias, and any other variable in between. This place only caters to the over sodium-fed masses that reside in this homogenized state of misery known as Ohio. This place has all the character of a Taco Bell without the cleanliness.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant! I've been here over 50 times, from a quick 2 people lunch to 25-people birthday parties. Their food is delicious and it comes to the table extremely fast. Their prices are extremely cheap, with lunch specials under 5 dollars. All their margaritas are delicious! You can order your food for take out too if you're in a hurry. The staff and owner are all very nice and care about the customers. Their fajitas plate is definitely my favorite with any meat combination. A gift card for this place also makes a great gift!

I always love this place. Every time I'm back home I have to stop by at least 3 times! The owner is so nice and accommodating. Anytime we have a big party of people, they always come through for us. We've had parties here of over 20 people on the back patio in the summer and it's always great. We absolutely love the food. It always comes out hot and fresh. The margaritas are delicious. If you're ever looking for great, authentic, cheap Mexican food, you have to try Fiesta Tropicana. It's the best in Lancaster, Ohio!

I've been here a few times in the past years, always good. Today, I stopped in for lunch. They must be doing something right, there was only one table left in the entire restaurant, that includes the outdoor patio. Lunch was $3.99. I added guac & a drink it went to $8! Great value. Good service. The food is good, nothing outstanding, nothing terrible. I will be back again.

The food was very good and plentiful. Tamales were excellent. However if your looking for a nice atmosphere the restaurant if old looking, dated, and not the cleanest place in town. Even the menus were tattered. I thought a margarita would be good with my meal but they don't serve drinks on Sunday. The service was fair and the food arrived quickly. The 3 stars are for the food.

If you want a tostada, chalupa, or a Doritos locos taco, go to Taco Bell. If you want great mexican food at great prices with exceptional service, Support your local businesses, and visit Fiesta Tropicana. I eat here very frequently, and have no complaints. Coupon available on the back of your Kroger receipts and they offer a loyalty card to earn free meals as well.

The first thing I do when trying to find a place to eat is go to YELP.com ..... I have never been let down (until now) by any of the reviews. My SO and I were returning from a quiet weekend in a cabin in Hocking Hills. We were both in the mood for Mexican and thought "what luck" when i logged into Yelp and saw an independent Mexican place 5 minutes away. We don't need fancy... but we do need to be able to communicate with staff as to my need to be gluten free. After a 5 minute conversation with 2 different people ( we weren't quite sure which one was our waiter)... I was not feeling comfortable that I was going to get a meal that would be gluten free... I usually only get beef tacos on soft corn shells and refried beans, but verify that there is no wheat or flour in any of the meat or beans or shells. They assured me there wasn't any. Ok - well I would know for sure in a few hours regardless - so I had to trust a little.... My SO ordered a few hard tacos and shared some of my beans. when we got our food he picked up his tacos and they were so filled with grease that the bottoms were wet enough to separate - so now he had 3 tacos with 2 separate shell halves and the entire plate covered with grease on the bottom. My soft tacos were the same... I had them double soft shelled so poured the grease out onto my plate and shoved a few napkins on top of the plate to soak up the grease ... and then laid the soft tacos on top of the napkins. My SO sent his tacos back as they really weren't edible as is - all the stuff was falling out of the soaked through taco shell. The wait staff smirked at us when he asked for less greasy tacos... I looked at him and said - "i'm a little nervous about what they are going to put in your tacos now"... half kidding. He received his tacos without the grease and they were edible, but he was sick the rest of the day and was up all night sick as well. It is noon the next day and he is just starting to recover. I cant believe that this place got good reviews when the food was clearly full of grease and the staff was clearly unempathetic or knowledgeable at all about food allergies ( I have been feeling not -so -great since eating here yesterday as well). The salsa was so watery that it couldn't be scooped onto a chip without dripping as it went from bowl to mouth. Refried beans were a bit thin as well... This place would rank in my book as disgusting.... never will we return.

Yesterday, My mom and I tried this restaurant due to the ratings and reviews it had generally received and I loved that it actually held up to its rating! The food was very good and was of great quality and was presented very well. I got the jalisco especial and my mom got the yolandas. It was very good and the service was very fast and on point. The waitress that we had was not very knowledgeable about the menu, but she was very willing to quickly go to the back and ask the chef and answered all of my questions about the food. In addition to the chips and salsa, we also got the guacamole dip, which was served in a tortilla bowl, which I thought was very clever presentation and I like the idea that nothing should go to waste, which it definitely did not and we both cleared our plates! Haha. As for the environment, it was very bright and playful in color, but it felt like it was mostly an adult atmosphere. I say this because there were beer and drink signs all over the restaurant in addition to the paintings. Also, when we first walked in, there were numerous cases of beer stacked up against the entrance wall. I liked the way that it was set up, but it may or may not be a kid environment, just throwing out a head's up about the heavy presence of alcohol. The only complaint that I have and the reason that I gave it 4, instead of 5, stars is that if you don't go during the lunch hour, it can get pretty expensive. For two entrees, two drinks, and the dip it was almost $25. Around lunch time, however, the food is very cheap and just as good! Great job, Fiesta Tropicana!

Great service, FABULOUS food. I used to work at a very nice Mexican restaurant, and have frequented another very nice Mexican restaurant. This place's food is better than both! (Can you tell my my sisters reaction?! Lol!) it was delicious. Old little place, but it wasn't bad. Kinda cool.

Fast, affordable and typically fresh. Not authentic by any stretch of the imagination but a big step up from fast food chains. The wait staff are efficient but could be a bit happier and friendly.

My family loves to come here all the time. Always ordering the same thing. The servers are nice and friendly. Decent service time. Food is over the plate with goodness. ^_^ The only complaint i have is they try to rush you out by giving you a box but you wait forever for the bill to arrive. The food should always be the same. Last time we went (ordered the same thing) and my boyfriend's taco salad was mostly beans and lettuce. Still love the place though!!!!

Really good food at a really great price. Lunches starting at 3.99! I always get the enchilada which comes with beans and rice. It's always very good, I'm stuffed and only out less than 5 bucks. What's not to love?

Stopped in for Cinco de Mayo and were sadly underwhelmed by the atmosphere. The decor was predictable (which is just fine) but it was sort of dirty and everything was really old. Like, the building was one of Lancaster's original fast food places and now it's just way past its prime. Plus, you'd never know it was a Mexican holiday. We expected more. On the plus side, the Margaritas were huge and strong! Probably won't come back.

This place is amazing. They are always so speedy with our drinks and food. There is one waiter there that we always request. I go to Mexico once a year and I feel like I'm in Mexico when I'm there. The mariachi band played and danced with us. We tipped them a lot because they were so amazing. They have the best margaritas. The margaritas are authentic; just like u were in Mexico. We love love love to go there and will definitely go back!!!!

I haven't been here in a long time as I usually frequent the other Mexican restaurant in town but I wasn't driving so here we went. The place was extremely crowded and business was booming. It's rather challenged in the square foot department but they have taken their nice outdoor patio and enclosed it with heaters so it was rather comfortable and a nice option sitting on the patio. The tables were rather close together and that presented a challenge but the place was hopping and everyone was having a good time so it all felt like a big ole party. Props for atmosphere. Our server, however, was another scenario. Not sure what the dealeo was but service was definitely lacking. But hey margaritas were $12 for a pitcher so life is good. However they were not that great a margarita well tequila obviously and not very strong but a margarita none the less. We placed our order and proceeded with our 55 gallon drum I mean pitcher of margaritas waiting on dinner. It took long enough that we had finished a basket of chips and salsa but nobody was checking to see if we needed more. Our food finally arrived and was unceremoniously dumped off asking who ordered which number. Now that is one sure fire way to get my dander up. I didn't place my order by number I placed it by entree name and I can speak fluent Spanish Thank you very much. Anyway we asked for some more chips and salsa and was told he would send our waiter with them. I ordered carnitas which is a traditional Mexican dish and for anyone who is trying a new Mexican restaurant order the carnitas they will generally give you a good indication of how they handle their seasoning and preparation. What came really looked like a lunch portion of the entree as there was barely a cup of shredded beef. I'm more used to it being larger more tender chunks of meat rather than shredded but I can cope. The flavor was actually pretty good which gave me hope that all was not lost. Upon taking a bite or two of my meat I decided to try the second most important item on the plate guacamole! This is another good indicator of how the restaurant handles their flavor. I was very pleased with the results of the kitchen. A well seasoned and fresh guacamole is it's own reward. I can remember sunny days spent at xochimilco enjoying to gondola ride and open air markets nibbling on so fresh made guacamole but I digress. So far as the food is concerned I'm in heaven. Now one must move on the side items on the plate rice and beans. Now we go suddenly south and I do not mean making a run for the border!! Because quite frankly I think that bell restaurant has better flavored rice and beans. I'm not sure what the actual attempt with the rice was but it's pretty obvious that there were some important ingredients omitted from the recipe. I shrugged the rice off and dove into the beans with the same gusto but unfortunately was met with the same disappointment the rice gave me :-( I'm pretty sure there may have been more flavor had they just opened a can of Old ElPaso refried beans!! Very disappointing. So as a recap the most important items on my plate the carnitas and the guacamole were excellent!! However the pluses were undone by the minuses of poor service and less than lackluster beans and rice. Disculpame mi amogos but I probably won't be back anytime soon

Probably the best Mexican cuisine you will get in Lancaster. Quality food at fair prices. While it's not a pure authentic Mexican joint, I still keep coming back. I just wish it was a bigger venue and the staff was more upbeat and friendly. Número 38 is delicious, just hope they do a good job cutting the fat off the chicken! Salsa is the bomb diggity.

Average Mexican joint with decent vegetarian choices. I had the super veggie fajitas and everything was tasty if not inspiring. It hit the spot, though. The friendly staff served me patiently even though they were close to closing on a Sunday night. It was hard to find anything interesting open. Prices are reasonable, too. No margaritas at the moment. Seems like they have something going on with the liquor license. Beer and wine only.

Had a great lunch with my friend, pretty good Mexican food for 2 that's under $20 but it also depends on what you get. I really liked the 3 beef enchiladas with rice and mashed beans. I'd recommend this to people who drive through or live in Lancaster.

Very good food, and large servings. Friendly staff, and better than the Big Boy chains in town like Taco Bell or La Cascada. Very cheap also.

With the exception of La Cascada (which we had a terrible experience...you can read my Yelp on it) we find most of these pseudo Mexican restaurants the same. Not authentic Mexican, but still good food. With that said, the super friendly staff, well prepared meals, large menu, large portions, clean, and a more authentic colorful paint theme boosts this restaurant form 4 stars to 5. We have been there at least 5 times now, and have never had a bad meal or service. Again, this aint no taco truck, but its good eats!

My favorite sit down Mexican Restaurant in Lancaster, OH. I can even order by speaking Spanish with most of the waiters. Its always nice and clean and if you know anything about the hispanic culture. This place is right at home with tile tabletops, Spanish music playing on the radio, freshly made tortilla chips and hearty salsa, beer sitting out in the dining room in the cartons...again I stress for people to relax and enjoy the culture and food that is simple, with plenty of flavor and at a good price. They now accept competitors coupons up to $8 off so get it while its hot!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
