Visited for the first time late on a Friday night. Absolutely average and doubtful to return. We sat at the bar and the overall service was poor. We ordered the Shrimp appetizer, the Bostonians and it was really good. However when the speciality fire chunks were served, they were terrible. We ordered medium sauce and got something that didn't seen to have any sauce. We sent them back and switched to hot sauce. There was nothing even close to a ting of heat. The chicken chunks are a large portion of them menu and the kitchen needs to work on their recipe... nowhere near the ballpark of Jeds or Buffalo Wild Wings. The Reuben and fries were good. Again, service was slow. The best on a staff was Megan and she just started on Wednesday. She was great!

I had 2 meals here this week, and had much better service and good than other people. I'd totally recommend the pizza (not underseasoned) and the chicken chunks are an interesting and tasty new spin on other restaurants' chunks. And the service was attentive and fast. I'd say give it a shot!

Waited over an hour for a cheeseburger that I never got on a slow Sunday brunch.. Employees looked like they were hungover and congregated in a room with no one else in it.. Bartender was new and didn't know the basics of meet and greet.. The guy that acted like a manager/owner should light a fire in a couple butts cause this place won't last long...

Visited Fire Pit Grill for the first time today at lunch. I was surprised that it was as empty as it was, I think there were only a couple other tables but they were on the opposite side of the restaurant so I can't be sure. The ambiance has really changed since Chowder's, I'm impressed with the renovations and decor. The menu boasted a small variety burgers, sandwiches, chicken chunks, and appetizers. I ordered the Black and Blue Burger and my dining companions order the chicken chunks and a chicken gyro. We all enjoyed our food, especially the gyro, the burger, and the potato chips. The chips tasted homemade, and were exceptional. Our service was average, not slow, but since we only get a short lunch break not as fast as we would have preferred. But we were in and out in less than 45 minutes so not much room to complain. I will definitely be back to the Fire Pit, both for food and beverages. It looks like an ideal place to have a few drinks after work. I look forward to the opening of the patio once it's not zero degrees!

Can't say enough about this place, 5 stars for food and everything....support this place, owned by local people....ask for fresh made chips as appetizers about $2.00...best chili in Toledo.

Recently we went back here for lunch. We ordered a burger and there was a Cajun Grilled Chicken special. The sandwich was good but the bun wasn't the same bun they usually use, which is a heavier bun. This one was smaller, and like cheap white bread. The bottom was smashed thin and soggy, the top fell apart. I talked to the server he said the kitchen gave us the wrong bun that this one was for the kids burgers. I asked for another. After waiting it was brought out. This was the same bun again cheap white bread type bun. I have been in the business for quite some time. I was insulted that their kitchen would have the audacity to send the same type of cheap bun out and say it was a different bun. Wow! We can deal with the frozen pre-formed burger patty but adding a cheap bun to it and you end up with picked over food. We don't mind paying 10 bucks for a sandwich but it needs to be good. The chicken sandwich I had would have been close to phenomenal if the bun was correct. Look, They spent all that money on a beautiful place. The food needs to compliment the look. They need something that pops. A signature item. It isn't there. I did talk to the arrogant owner. A person who clearly shouldn't have anything to do with a restaurant. Never in my life had I been so irritated from someone that called to make an attempt to apologize about our recent visits but had excuses for not knowing food. Wow!! Running a business is tough but people are unforgiving. In this business, you can start with errors but you need to make improvements. People forget you quick. You need to continually make changes for the better every day. We now have considered going elsewhere because of our recent visits.

Dunno about this place yet...get a weird vibe everytime I go... I always seem to get stuck with a server who acts like she's "put out" just for having to be there. Sorry guys...its called a job. This may shock u , but none of us like to work. Lol. Food ok but some of that staff need to lighten up. Verdict still out on this weird one.

Food is good. Service is awful. 2nd time there. Both times the service was terrible. First time they lost our order (I guess) and we sat there for 30--40minutes. No one checked on us. Took 15 more minutes to get drink order. Only good part of experience was the manager gave us a discount. Second time there they cleared my tablemates food away without asking. Waiter just took it as he walked by. Clearly the help needs training. Terrible service.

It feels like this place is finally starting to get a groove going. I had previously criticized some of the pricing, those may have been adjusted. food was good, service was great-beautiful patio. My new favorite place to watch the Tigers! Beer selection is improving-Maumee Bay IPA is always a solid choice. would like to still see more craft beers and maybe time to look at some decent wines, but overall, really pleased with the evolution. I would recommend giving it a shot.

Ate here about a month ago. I've been hearing so-so and poor things of late, with alot of staff jumping ship to get out. The place was virtually empty when we arrived, and was literally empty when we left. The food was pedestrian at best. My girlfriend had a chicken sandwich which was fine, and I had a pizza. I don't think the pizza was made from scratch, probably a frozen crust. I've had better from the freezer section of the grocery store. The decor and ambiance was nice, but that alone isn't going to save a place that's got poor food, wishy washy service, and is on the edge of civilization. Lots of traffic on Airport Highway, but it's mostly driving by. If you just want a beer, cool, go here. If you want a "nice" dinner go somewhere else.

$17.00 for a burger, fries and coke, that price point will not last long in this area.

I went to Fire Pit Grille for Sunday brunch after learning that they served brunch. It seems everyone in Toledo is yearning for a good brunch spot, and yet none are readily available. The seating was open, and a guitar player and jazz singer were swooning at the perfect volume during our meal. The food was excellent - in fact, two people at our table thought their blueberry pancakes were the best they had ever had, and truly, they were - fresh, plump blueberries with an excellently crafted pancake. The bloody mary I tried was also top-notch. The service was slow and lacked the attentiveness that would be expected at such a high-quality restaurant, and only for that reason does this meal rate four stars instead of five. With time, I'm sure the service will improve as well, but the food was definitely a wonderfully positive experience.

Awesome restaurant. The Cobb salad with steak was incredible, good sized portion and steak was done perfectly. Awesome bartenders (Josh), great personality and kicka$$ drinks! Try the candy bar shot!!!

I have been to the Firepit Grille about 3 times now. I have really only ever had appetizers and drinks. All of the appetizers so far were great! They do an appetizer happy hour where they are half off! Cant beat that after work! I have also had their pizza. My boss brought it in for one of our potlucks and it was really good! I definitely recommend giving this place a chance. If you have been here before and had a poor experience, I recommend trying again. With all new restaurants there is a beginning phase where things need to be worked out. As someone who has served and been a bartender for years....not everything is perfect in the beginning. Just remember that everything you have ever done hasn't always been right and perfect the first time you did it.

Had ribs. Food cold. Ribs had no flavor. That's why they had tons of sauce on it. Even that did not help. However the place is very nice. Patio open but sheltered. Staff helpful but not hovering over one. Might come here again to try something else and for the atmosphere.

First off our server Karra was absolutely wonderful. She knew the menu and didn't object to one modification that my girl friends and I had! The manager Vinny stopped by and made sure we had a great experience. I had the chicken sandwich. I added a few things because on the menu it was a tad bare, but add-on's were not very expensive at all. We also had the buffalo chicken dip to start. My friends loved it but I wasn't too enthused. The chicken needed to be pulled a little more, not such big pieces, it was hard to eat with the flimsy chips we were given. Typically buffalo chicken dip is very shredded chicken and mixed with cream cheese. Ours was like soup. Other than that no complaints about the food. We sat on the patio, big and spacious! It was not like one of those patios where you're shoulder to shoulder with the table next to you. Great selections of wines and even better options for food. I understand the separate area to smoke, but as a smoker, a patio in Ohio is like a safe haven. I feel like you should be able to smoke inside the patio since everyone is so spread apart. I have to say it was an overall decent experience..

Three stars is just about right. I've been here three times, and I'm here to say the Fire Pit Grill, like the protagonist in the movie "Idiocracy," is AVERAGE in every way. Average food quality and selection, average decor, average service and average beer selection. The only thing really great is the location (if, that is, you happen to live in Holland). They are, however, starting a Sunday Jazz Brunch (live music, Bloody Marys, mimosa, "special" brunch menu, etc). This might be worth checking out...this could be cool if they manage to do it right. The patio, with the fire pit has real potential!

After reading the poor reviews for the Firepit I kept ow expectations and ended up being pleasantly surprised. I will say it is in I strip type mall and that usually turns me off. But the inside is decorated very nicely and it is clean. The patio is great! We sat outside on the patio and there is shade so you're not sweating. Food: We had the flaming cheese appetizer (good), grilled chicken sandwich (great- very good grilled flavor) and the bacon cheeseburger (delicious- buttery toasted bun made it amazing) fries (good). Service: We arrived when it first opened so they weren't busy but we had great, friendly service Price: Reasonable Drinks: Beer, wine, cocktails ( we didn't drink because my wife is preggo and I made a deal not to drink when she can't. I know-foolish. Anyway, we are out of the cocktail game for 5 months so we will be back for the Sunday bloody Mary's in January)

Food: GFS/Sysco - tier. Most everything ordered looked as if it was prepared ahead of time and reheated. I ordered the ribs, and the bones were much hotter than the meat, indicating that they were microwaved shortly before being brought out. The pizza was almost certainly cooked from frozen. As with most mid to upper level restaurants in the Toledo area - FirePit could benefit greatly from reducing their menu by about 90%, and cooking the remaining 10% of items well. Service: The waitress messed up our appetizer order and ended up not getting the appetizers until after our main courses. Even then we got the wrong appetizers. The manager comped up for all of the appetizers and corrected the order. It was the waitress's first night so the mistake is understandable, but instead of taking responsibility for the mistake, she blamed it on the kitchen, which we discovered to be a lie when the manager explained that she had put in the wrong order. Facility: Generic, big-box feeling. Lots of space. It felt like we were eating in someone's finished garage. Generally clean.

Went for Wed. Nacho and Margi special night. Unimpressed. Tiny Margi's. Nachos are actually tostada's cut in half. The best part of the meal was the pretzel app, but the cheese tasted old, gritty and reheated. Also, it was half off apps. So i ordered the pretzel. When the check came the waitress split the app in half with my guest, in which the app cant be half off if she split it. I immediately had her correct the bills. I thought that was a bit crooked and a clever way "around" the half off app's.

Was at the FirePit on Monday for a late lunch. Mediocre service at the inside bar. The outside bar is better if Clint or Devin are working. Otherwise spotty service at best. Food is OK, typical bar food. On this day I got up to use the restroom and near the front door slipped on something and dropped onto my knee. Ended up with a fractured patella. Painted cement floor with NO SLIP RESISTANCE AT ALL! Bad combination. The help immediately blamed my shoes, which were flats with rubber soles so that was clearly NOT THE ISSUE. The floor is slippery, PERIOD. The staff rushed us out and of course handed us our bill on the way out, nice touch huh? Called the manager Jeff a few days later and he was rude and in denial of any accountability. After speaking with him it's easy to understand why the high service turnover and frankly mediocre service. If he treats his employees with the same disdain that he treated me then why would anyone want to work there. We won't be back and will tell all of our friends and acquaintances about our experience. Too bad, great location and concept. Clearly a case study in poor management. Now I understand why others on yelp have wished they could rate a zero stars, this is the first time I wish I could rate a ZERO.

SIOUXANNE from the South here... So I decide to check out FirePit Grille because they have this FABULOUS HUGE OUTDOOR FIREPIT and it's chilly and I need food and a Long Island Ice Tea a version I call the "LucasCountyHouseWife" Tea made with Caffeine free clear pop instead of Cola. I get there and spy a 3 Meat Pizza recommended by Devin on the menu and decide on wine to go with that "Trinity of Meat in my mouth". My server DEVIN was just awesome and got the Pie & Wine out to me PRONTO! That pie was some SERIOUS EATS!!! So to all those Lucas County folks I'm so happy to Yelp this PLACE FOR YOUR FACE! Stop by and check out this wicked cool restaurant sports bar it is very Cool! Oh! Be sure and request Devin, he's Uber fast on his feet!

We went for brunch and I thought the food was great! I had the buffet which I thought had a really good variety and was delicious. A few of my friends ordered off the menu and they really liked it. I also had a Bloody Mary and they were only $5! It was so good! The service was just okay. She was nice but there were stretches of 15 minutes where she wasn't around. All in all I really enjoyed brunch there.

I could write a long, snappy bit of colorful, satiric commentary on all the sundry details, but suffice to say, THIS PLACE NEEDS A CHEF! A REAL CHEF!!! Until someone who cares about food is running the kitchen, it's a waste.
