Stopped in here at lunch-time and I was happy to find out they serve breakfast all day. My husband and I both had biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were good, but the gravy was disappointing. Both were homemade, but sadly, the gravy was very bland. I would not be opposed to coming back, though, and trying something else. The service was very friendly and their prices are pretty good. It's nice that they have some outdoor seating for those gorgeous days we sometimes get in Ohio.

We've been here several times for breakfast, and done "take out" breakfast orders when we don't have time to sit in the diner and eat. One thing this place is not going to be - FAST. Why? It's not a fast food joint. It's not microwave food. It's good home cooking that takes time, takes patience, and takes a positive attitude. Don't come here expecting the typical 30 minute in and out service you can get just about anywhere else. Sit down, relax. Talk to your neighbors, get another cup of coffee! You know what you're getting in a greasy diner right? If you don't, you probably don't belong here! Food is fantastic. The cooks really know how to put the home cooking in the food. And if for some reason it isn't right, they happily take it back and make it right. You can see the cooks, you can see what's going on. It's just the way a DINER should be. The staff does the best job possible, and sometimes they could use an extra hand. But they all show kindness in the midst of madness, when shown the level of respect they deserve! I want this small, awesome diner to stay the way it is. Perfect to me!

Stopped here as a turn around point in a bike ride from the Hoover dam (12.6 miles each way and a gorgeous ride). Galena is a cute little town that started as an old mill town and there is about a one block section of "downtown" and that's where the galena diner is. I ordered the Molly's Benedict thinking I would eat one muffin and force the other in my friend who "wasn't hungry". Think eggs Benedict minus Canadian bacon add real bacon and FRESH delicious tomato and spinach. Ohemgee...this was amazing...and I ate the whole dang thing! My none hungry friend ate the fruit bowl which had some yummy deliciously fresh fruit including mango and some interesting melon. The service was fast and friendly...definitely Midwest small town! There were some tables outside but they were full when I was there so we sat inside. Nothing fancy just old school diner and clean...lots of old photos on the walls to check out. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Ordered Broasted chicken and it came out not fully cooked. Service was fine up till food came out (maybe server realized she wouldn't get fat tips from us after serving not fully cooked chicken) but it was slow after that. The check never came so we had to we had to go up to the cash register. Oh, they didn't even offer discount on our food after serving not fully cooked chicken to me. I am sure it was a unique incident since they seem like there are many regulars but I probably won't go back.

Awesome breakfast. Mollys Benedict and Kentucky Special is our favorite. Only complaint is the service is a little slow. Don't go here if your are in a hurry.

Food has been good on the days we could get served. The last 2 times we have left because of the excessive wait with no acknowledgement. Won't be back. Under staffed and poor service.

We stopped here today for the first time. The biscuit and gravy was fantastic as were the home fries. My friend had the Swiss mushroom burger. She loved it. Out of the way for us, but we plan on going back.

Beautiful sunny spring weather yesterday got me out exploring around Hoover Reservoir brought me into "downtown" Galena. I entered this great homey little small town diner and found a seat at one of the many tables in the main room. The decor here, pure smalltown americana, clean , open and simple. Many of the tables were occupied by locals enjoying coffee and chatter and mix of travelers, fishermen and me. Greeted in good time I took some time to look thru the large breakfast menu and moderate amount of good lunch and dinner choices. My freshly brewed iced tea arrived and I decided on a grilled, blackened fish sandwich with a side of potato salad, one of their chalkboard daily specials. Both were freshly prepared, well portioned and delicious. This fish was spiced perfectly, not overpowering like some I have had prepared as such. Overall this is a friendly litle family run diner that makes it a great stop to top off your tummy at the top of Hoover. Good food, good prices, good times.

The best home cookin' in central Ohio! They are known for their broasted chicken which is mouth watering good! I have learned to like a few other things on the menu just as much though. The Molly's Benedict is the best eggs Benedict you will ever have! They use crispy applewood bacon instead of your typical Canadian bacon and also include spinach, tomato and a generous portion of hollandaise and seasoning. This is definitely worth stoping in for! The fish and soups and deserts are also homemade and delicious! The pistachio cake or the blueberry-lemon pie! MMMm! Staff are some of the friendliest people you'll meet.

One of my favorite breakfast places. Good for lunch too (although even at lunch I can't help but order breakfast) friendly staff. Seat yourself.

4 gold stars for service! Nice little diner in Galena and a great place to go if Mudflats is closed. I say this primarily due to the food. Don't get me wrong, it's diner fare with a decent breakfast menu but it might not be for the foodie; but hey, breakfast food doesn't have to be fancy or complicated, just yummy. These stars are mostly earned because the service is wonderful! Warm, friendly, small town (duh, it is), and helpful. We felt like regulars upon our first 30 seconds in the door and the place is small enough that it could be somebody's kitchen.

I was visiting my nephew at Ohio State and staying with friends in Westerville. Decided to head out for a little drive for breakfast at the Galena DIner. My friends had been before and found it quite charming, but what we found on this visit was way more! Everything about this place is exactly what it should be. It is indeed charming and it's a slice of Americana, with a great country vibe and oh yes, the food ... it's spectacular! Fresh, local ingredients, perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The coffee is wonderful, the service is so warm and friendly and the owner Gail is just delightful and as passionate about her family business as you could hope for.. After dining you just want to do everything you can to help ensure the success and future of this country gem. Can't wait to go back on my next visit to Ohio and try the broasted chicken and some of the lunch items ... yum!

I'd like to rate this 4 stars for breakfast, which is superb, and 2 stars for dinner. The reason being that the broasted chicken (which they promote as if it's pure gold atop their limited dinner menu) is simply awful'. I ordered a two-piece breast and thigh dinner. The mashed potatoes/gravy were exceptional but the chicken pieces were small, overcooked (by a mile), and dry --the thigh was inedible. The breast, which one would expect to be dry when delivered in a shade of burnt umber, was marginally better. I finished neither piece, eating half of my wife's pork tenderloin sandwich featuring a tender, generous portion of meat, breaded and cooked perfectly, which I must say, was incredibly good. Her fries were of the pedestrian, frozen food-service variety. A decent diner should take the time to serve fresh-cut, blanched fries. For breakfast, omelets are great, biscuits and gravy with fried potatoes are top-rate. Most of the dishes that passed me looked scrumptious. Definitely a good breakfast bet. But there are better diner dinners out there. The desserts looked good and appeared home-made. With a little attention to detail and small "tweaks," The Galena Diner could be solid gold. As it is, it's gold-plated. If you go, try it for breakfast.

This is one of those times that you (selfishly) don't want to add another glowing review because people are starting to take notice and people taking notice means crowds: during our visit we overheard 4 different groups indicate that they were there because of the Yelp reviews. I wanted to go with 4 stars because it's wayyy out in Galena, but then I realized that part of the reason it is so good is that it's wayyy out in Galena; if it was in uptown Westerville you'd never be able to get a table. The food is wonderful, the prices fair, and the portions are massive; I'd recommend the 'build your own burrito' as this was the best breakfast burrito I've had east of the Mississippi River. R really enjoyed the 'Molly's Benedict' and we both noticed that her eggs were perfectly poached. Three varieties of coffee and friendly service in an adorable small town means we've found a new breakfast place to take visitors if we want to impress them.

Great place for breakfast! Generous helpings, good family atmosphere, and price is right on for the food. This is our Sunday morning breakfast spot.

Oh my do I love love love this place. I even have a fav waitress (she's awesome!) Kim (you know which one!). The food is always the best. Try their Molly's Benedict ~ the yummiest Bene you'll ever get ~ no ham, but a slice of tomato instead, sauteed spinach on top of the best hollandaise sauce , 2 eggs and bacon sprinkles. I eat gluten free so they so nicely accommodate this for me with a substitute of the english muffin with a bit more of the best home fries this side of the Rocky's. But this isn't all they have. A daily special, breakfast all day every day, 'Broasted Chicken' that is great, rich tasty coffee, oh, I could go on and on and on! Get their early on the weekend though 'cause sometimes there's a line out the door! Love you guys! Thanks for always being so good and consistently great!

Galena, OH's business district is not a block long; really just a crossroads. This chipper little diner has outdoor seating on the small town square. Two small daughters and I rolled in for a brunch on the 4th of July. They were closing but seated us anyways. Friendly service. Daughters ordered the 'Red White and Blue Belgian Waffle' - daily special. Great presentation.

Nice little diner in Galena. Menu is a little heavy on fried items for dinner but the chili was good and I enjoyed my ribeye. Staff was friendly and attentive.

We normally love Galena Diner - good food, good service with a small town diner atmosphere. Today, we walked out without ordering. After being seated we waited 30 - 45 minutes for coffee and orange juice at a table that had not been cleared. The waitress kept walking by and never once started clearing the table. After we finally got our drinks she asked what she could get us. Uhhhhhhh??? How about menus, silverware & sugar for our coffee??? Still nothing. I had to walk up to the counter to get sugar & stirrers. Next time she came by - still no menus or spoons/sugar. When she finally brought a tub to bus the table and menus, she handed us menus and asked what she could get us before we even opened them. (Still no sugar for the coffee or acknowledgement that we had to get it ourselves!) We finally just left.

Quaint little small town diner tucked away in the middle of nowhere. Decent food for a good price. Friendly service. The owners have a Scion XB with great cartoon rooster (ala Family Guy) advertising the diner. This isn't a weekly must have, but certainly nothing to avoid.

I've eaten here for the past 3 1/2 years; my husband the past 5. It's much more of a breakfast or brunch place than dinner but I've not yet tried their AYCE walleye on Fridays. The food deserves a 4 and sometimes even a 5. The service until the last month would be a 4. Unfortunately, the last several times this month we have been here for weekend breakfast, we have had the misfortune of dining when a new, younger waitress works and she is unpleasant. We have heard her arguing with other customers and putting her own bosses and co-workers under the bus. On the breakfast menu is a breakfast burrito and you can add your choice of meat, cheese etc. I wanted Chili as my meat since it is listed on the menu as a meat option. She told me that Chili wasn't an option because they were only serving breakfast and lunch didn't start until 1PM. It was 12:15 PM. There's no mention of that on the menu. I've had the chilli breakfast burrito in the past before 1. I ordered an egg sandwich instead and I realized when I received it that she had not asked me whether I wanted mayo or not, or what kind of bread I wanted. My husband ordered homefries but was told that they were already out; we were told that if we wanted homefries on the weekend we needed to get there earlier- this was said in an accusatory tone. We later heard a couple at a neighboring table go through a similar conversation. The husband asked her to substitute french fries for the home fries but he was told they won't turn on the fryers until 1; it was 12:35. My husband eats there frequently during the week with his golf friends and says that service is impeccable during the week. We're never unhappy with the food quality and always tip very well; this is the first time in my life I insisted we not leave a tip. We like supporting independent businesses and especially restaurants. However, when we found ourselves hungry after lunch and shopping at Easton this past Sunday and gladly made the trip all the way up the reservoir to the diner, as we walk in the restaurant, the offensive waitress says loudly (we could hear it as we were opening the door!)"there's the people who stiffed me"- it was likely the last time we will go to this restaurant. This waitress seemed like the type of person who would spit in your food so until we hear from others that this person no longer works there or until we are starving and there's too long of a line at the other restaurant in Galena, I don't foresee us gambling again.

This is our new favorite breakfast place. The chef scrambles with home fries are perfect and my husband loves the biscuits and gravy. Usually pretty busy on Sundays but we haven't had to wait yet... Probably because it's hidden in galena.

Had the fried/broasted chicken and it was almost Amish quality!

Great place for breakfast. Generous helpings, down-home cooking, and they'll never let your coffee cup go empty. Price is reasonable and the flavors standard, so if you're in the area you'll leave happy (both in your stomach and in your wallet).
