I took my mother and father here for Momma's birthday. It was so amazing. I have to say I was a bit snobbish in thinking that a small town in Ohio wouldn't have great seafood. I live 30 minutes from NYC and I was so wrong. Everything was amazing from the martinis Rachel made to the ahi tuna appetizer to the desserts. Josh was our server and he was knowledgeable about the menu and just all around fantastic. While I was disappointed they ran out of scallops the lobster tail, MD crab cake, and lobster ravioli absolutely made up for it. We will absolutely be going back when I visit again. If you have a chance to go visit Findley Oh go see Josh. He will make sure 2 have a great dinner experience.

My husband and I were staying at a nearby hotel. We decided to give Fins a chance and didn't know what to expect. It was AMAZING!! From our cocktails to dessert everything tasted wonderful and far surpassed our expectations. I suggest the Elderflower Spritz and the Tuna nachos. You will not be disappointed!! I may be coming back to Findlay just to eat at Fins.

I had high hopes for the seafood restaurant which took over the old Bob Evans building on Broad. I took the initiative of making reservations a few days in advance for their New Year's Eve celebration. It was a little pricey for Findlay ($48.00 a plate excluding drinks and tip), but I would gladly pay larger city prices for a metropolitan dining experience. However, I do look at everything with a more critical eye. If you're going to talk the talk, I'm going to make you walk the walk. The waitress was inexcusably slow. Many at my table had to wait a while for basic drink service (e.g. pop or iced tea, but no cocktails), and even more importantly two tables seated after us were almost finished before received our main course. If they could get their food that quick, why not us? My somewhat warm surf and turf plate told me it had been sitting in the kitchen, but I was afraid I'd never get it back had I returned it. On the bright side, their lobster bisque was wonderful and I liked the idea of having the meal in courses. I had no problem with the kitchen setting the menu on that night, because it's way easier to organize. Other experiences, such as having onions in a very sweet salad, were a disappointment. The surf and turf plate was merely OK. The potatoes and macaroni were cold by the time I was able to get to them, which is unfortunate. The macaroni tasted like it would be delicious when properly served. Even the jazz band assembled in the latter part of our meal. On a side note, why do jazz bands love playing "My Favorite Things"? You're a jazz band, for cryin' out loud! Jazz has so much breadth and beauty. Don't waste your time on that. Give me Coltrane (not the aforementioned cover), Mulligan/Baker, Adderley, but not The Sound of Music, please. We were warned that we _had_ to show up by our requested time or they'd give our table away. They even took my credit card information to secure it. Apparently, they expect the patrons to be punctual so they can horse around.

The expansive menu sounds a lot better than it is. Stick to the basics. My swordfish was dry and the bearnaise was splitting. My side of lobster mac & cheese was probably the highlight but still tasted low-quality and bland. M had the cedar plank salmon and wasn't super impressed... I think we both wished we had just gone with pasta. The service was pleasant, though, and the beer/wine selection was great. But they either need to work on food quality or lower the prices... a lot.

We went to Fin's for a special dinner out. The atmosphere was nice and we did not feel rushed. Very nice. The food was okay. We were disappointed that the vegetable was canned corn (in August? Why not fresh?) The scallops were very good. The surf and turf was not bad, but for the price...not stunning either. The woven, reusable placemats...and the fact the waiter touched the pitcher when refilling the water... well, that taints everything for me. It was not a negative experience, but in my book a pricey okay experience.

I usually go to Fins about once a week. This week I had the priveledge of joining the Duke and others for dinner. Things started off a little badly, as the patio was full so we had to eat inside, and the waitress resisted a request to get an Agave Wheat beer from the outside bar (for the Duke himself no less). Once we were able to coerce her to take care of her customers, the dinner was excellent as always. Fins has never let me down, and I would definately recommend a stop here for dinner. My only complaint is that they have elimiated the shrimp and crawfish nachos, which were never "officially" on the menu but were outstanding. How many times do we have to request that this appetizer be brought back? Overall, you will be happy with your dinner at Fins!

It is easily the best restaurant in Findlay. The chef is very creative with excellent specials to add to the menu. Very friendly and professional staff.

When I moved to Findlay a always listened this restaurant was so good!!! And finally my Husband and me went to try.... But I was so disappointed... The service was really, really slow and the restaurant was almost empty!!! Our waitress was nice. The food was not as good as I expected, the queso crab dip was good but... No to much better like you can found at "Moes" and for a much less price! I choose a pasta in lobster sauce with shrimp and scallops... But I found and a simple Olive Garden Alfredo sauce... No lobster flavor!!! My husband ask for sea scallops and a steam broccoli ... The sea scallops was good, and he was surprised with a whole head of broccoli !!!! The presentation was not pretty... And the broccoli was not very fresh!!! The meal was not better that you can find in Olive Garden.... But for this in my opinion was pricy...

I moved to Findlay few years ago from California, I eat out most of the time but I never know about this place until to night. The restaurant is really warm and beautiful. The food was great I'm a big fan of steak and they cooked it just the way I like it! I would give them 5 stars if they would marinate it better so the meat actually have a flavor

I'm embarrassed to say how many times my dinner partner and I have enjoyed superb meals at Fins. It is always a treat and a pleasure, and (I said embarrassingly) the only place we eat while working in Findlay. Let me put it this way. She's from San Francisco and I'm from NY, and Fins is always too far away.

started with gumbo. it was good but i thought the green onions were unnecessary i didnt think it worked texturally . had the wedge salad w blue cheese with salmon added as an entrée. salmon was done perfectly. salad was way overdone with the blue cheese. service was friendly. great atmosphere. all in all very good.

I travel for a living so needless to say it is nearly impossible to find a restaurant as awesome as Fins. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and genuinely appreciated for coming. I had the Damon salad with strawberries, bleu cheese, apples, walnuts and a 25 yr balsamic that was a great way to start. The gumbo brought me back to Louisianna and the oysters were absolutely amazing. Nice, plump, clean and salty just like they're supposed to be. I had the grilled Mahi Mahi and I'm still blown away. Really cool beer menu and they even have a cocktail made in house on tap! Pirate Punch reminded me of a rum runner but the organic orange and pineapple juice stood out and the dash of bitters didn't hurt either. Seriously, I have served and bartended in some of the finest restaurants Chicago has to offer and this place has what it takes to be just as good if not better. Simple, fresh, friendly and at affordable prices. Can't believe I'm in a little town like Findlay Ohio and just had this experience. I will be back and my coworkers will as well!

This was the first time I have gone to Fins. Had heard great reviews but never made a point to going to Fins. We arrived around 6:15 on a Saturday and was surprised to not find many customers inside although believe there were more customers outside on the patio. We liked the decor on the inside - comfortable but not extravagant. We had the Surf-n-Turf and the Shrimp & Crab Garlic Cattleoni. Both were very good. Although the meals were a little more expensive than most restaurants in Findlay they were good value - good tasting and healthy portions. We both ended up taking home leftovers due to the size of the meal. By 7:00 Fins started to fill up so maybe it is just a late arriving crowd. The only downside was the service was slow. We were not in a hurry so wasn't a big deal but could be a problem if is a regular occurrence. We would go back again in the future. Would recommend if you are willing to pay a little extra to get some higher quality food and a relaxing environment.

Pretty disappointing. Poor service food just ok. Waited 20 minutes then server came out and told one in the party they were out of the special. My food was cold by the time it finally arrived another 30 minutes later. Then to end the evening we ask for one check. So they brought separate checks for the three of us. Clearly the staff doesn't care and did not pay attention to service. Wouldn't recommend

've been traveling for the last year, and this is the best experience I've had. Fins is, in many ways, the perfect blend of understated, casual sophistication. MENU: It offers a very accessible menu with equal offerings of seafood and meat. There were also several unlisted chef's specials which sounded tempting. Thursday was a full rack of baby back ribs for 9.99. They were beyond tender. They also offered a coby beef philly burger and Filet minion with lump crab meat and asparagus.... Also I think potatoe encrusted mahi-mahi, and other items not on the menu. A waitress told someone they rotate specials weekly. SERVICE: The waitress, Brooke, was very professional but warm and charming. When I asked her for her opinion on menu selection, she even offered to speak with the chef to customize an appetizer to suit my tastes and delivered with great success! BAR: The wine selection looked good, and I noticed a $170 dollar bottle of Dom Perignon, but since I was alone, I choose the Magic Hat #9 on draught. ATMOSPHERE: I was there for an early dinner, so the roomy dining room wasn't crowded, but FINS has a nice patio where a lot of patrons flocked due the nice sunny day. I really enjoyed the ambiance too - indirect lighting with cans spotting your table so you could see your food without being blinded was nice. Also indirect lighting on the walls highlighted the soothing deep red walls and dark wood ceilings. A large salt water fish tank seprating the lobby from the dining area provide just the right amount of natural light and aquatic appeal. The tables rounded out the atmosphere - white sand and shells lay beneath glass & wood tables. PRICE: Lastly, price was very accessible. I had to ask the waitress if there was an error - as I was expecting a much higher bill. I've paid a LOT more for much less many times. SUMMARY: I will be a regular here any time I'm in Findlay. I feel guilty saying this, but I hope this review doesn't spoil the special experience I had there by turning too many people on to my new favorite restaurant between Detroit - Cleveland - Pittsburgh - Columbus.

Great service and I was very happy with my Ahi Tuna steak. I got it blackened and rare. I would probably get it medium rare next time. Prices are reasonable. Great Freeway access if you are driving down 75. Try the Lobster Mac and Cheese.

good, but tough location (Ralphies, Steak-n-Shake, Ming's Chinese, Steve's Dakota Grill, Culvers - all less than desirable if you want good food)
