I have eaten at this location one time before and both times ordered the same thing. Their chicken is excellent. This time I did the 1/2 chicken plate with corn pudding and baked beans. First the chicken. It was a huge half of a bird that looked beautiful on the plate. It was very juicy and flavorful. In other words perfect. The baked beans were great and the corn pudding is something I could eat every day. With the two pieces of toasted bread that came with it the meal was a belly buster. City BBQ has as good of chicken as anywhere that I have eaten. I look forward to my trips to Ohio to east this dish. In my opinion, this is as good as it gets. It's a little pricey but well worth it.

Most of the food was worth eating. We had the pulled pork sandwich and brisket sandwich, cole slaw, corn bread and hush puppies. The Cornbread was dry and had a piece of black plastic coating stuck to the top of it. Hush puppies were burnt and cooked in old oil. Floors had trash on them, water sitting under pop machine, bugs flying near our food and tea dispensers. Restroom filthy. Tables and bottles of bbq grossly dirty. The place had just a few people in there and it was close to 5 pm. Won't go back because of the lack of cleanliness. .

I would agree with Jon's assessment of the barbecue not being as good as something you'd find in the South. In fact, the Eastern Carolinian sauce was headed in the right direction, but not really correct. Sorry guys, drink Coke, play again. The big question is: can you have a decent meal there? I would say yes. It's not the top pick of a barbecue connoisseur, but you'll more than likely enjoy your meal and won't ask for a refund. The service was friendly, and that does count. Overall, it's a good place to put into the rotation for lunch.

City Barbecue had very good food. The pulled pork was tender and hot, and the sides were fresh. The barbecue sauce was very good and I liked how they had a few different kinds of sauce. The atmosphere was very fun and fitting. For example, the sandwich came out on wax paper instead of a plate like normal. You can see in the picture above (albeit blurry) the walls are made of wood. The biggest problem is that the meal is pretty expensive. It was around $22 for two pulled pork sandwiches, two sides, and two drinks. The food was good, but that seems high just for a sandwich and sides.

Great food. Pretty nice staff. Decent priced. Love their bbq sauces. Favorite side is the corn cake type thing...yum!! Definitely worth eating. It's all BBQ type meats but they don't put bbq sauce on it so you can decide if you want bbq sauce and what kind.

Technically, I didn't eat at the restaurant. I was attending an Ohio Child Conservation League conference in Findlay and they had food delivered. I am not a big bbq beef or pork fan, I make it occasionally for my husband from leftover roasts. But at the conference I had the beef and added just the original bbq sauce and I must say, it was delicious! I also loved their green beans with bacon. Sometime when I'm in Findlay again, I will definitely have to check out the restaurant :)

I've had City BBQ several times. Usually for free (at work), and it's either been the pulled pork or ribs. They are both fine in the own right, but far from the best I've ever had. Frankly, I don't expect the BBQ to match the quality of the south, so by that standard, it's pretty good. Everything changed though when I tried the beef brisket. Holy cow, it was amazing. I topped it of with brush fire sauce and it was perfect. I'll never have anything else, unless it's free at work. The sides were average, mac 'n cheese was as expected, thick and cheesy, but nothing you haven't had before and the corn bread was a nice finish. Bottom line...get the brisket! Hopefully the Columbus locations can match the expectation set forth by the Findlay location.
