Top notch sub house. Very flavorful, super oily, probably awful for you, but that's why it tastes so good. If you eat at this place you'll smell a little like sub for the rest of the day. I've heard that they moved but I'm not sure where/when... please check before you go there.

Kevin's review is right on. I can't believe I'm just now finding this place. I love that added zing the subs have. They are moving on June 30, 2010 so call to find out the new location if you are headed that way after then. This place is definitely worth trying out.

Just to note - This location has moved to 3195 Dayton-Xenia Rd., next to Krogers and now it is an actual bar and grill with some TVs for sports and Keno. Great cheesesteak!

This place should not be called Submarine House. It should be called Beer House. First visit was today. I've never been there before, so I walk in and the only people in the place are at the very prominent bar. There are also no less than 15 TVs in the place. No matter which direction you're facing, there is at least one TV in view. Also, there is no place to go and choose items for your sandwich like Subby's, Penn Station, Subway, or ANY OTHER place that touts itself as a Submarine House. You have to order your sandwich off a menu and hope that when it comes out, it was made properly. One of the sandwiches I ordered was completely wrong.. I ordered what I thought was a very simple item, a 4" double meat plain cheese steak. What we got did indeed have double meat, but that's where the similarity ended.. There was also mushrooms, lettuce, mayo, tomatoes and hot peppers. None of which was wanted on the sandwich. When we called, the manager was very disinterested in offering anything other than a credit for out next visit. Of course, we will not be going back so that does us no good. Also, there is no way to leave a comment on their website and their Facebook page is locked down so that no comments can be posted. While I was there, the barmaid seemed more interested in batting eyes at the patrons at the bar who were busy blowing money at Keno and other money-wasting systems. Again, this place isn't a restaurant.. It's a bar first, that just happens to make sandwiches. Pricing is high for what you're getting. 2 sandwiches (one 4 inch, one 16 inch) ran $15. No soda, chips, or fries. I used to think that Penn Station was high until I visited this place.

Just drive down the street, and you'll notice how over done the sandwich shop is nowadays. It seems everyone and their mom is building delicatessen creations using fresh meats and artisan breads. So, what makes Submarine House stand out? Atmosphere. The dingy shack exemplifies the phrase hole-in-the-wall. If you love intimate locales, you'll love this place. The sandwiches are great too. On the whole, they are your typical toasted subs - meaty, warm, delicious. But, Submarine's signature is the hot pepper dressing that gives the sandwich its unique taste and zing.
