Good Hibachi food. We came here for a birthday party and everyone ordered a whole variety of rolls. Highly recommend the sushi here, my favorites being the flaming roll (exactly what it sounds like) and crunch roll. They also have other japanese foods for non-sushi eaters, including teriyaki, gyoza, and mochi ice cream! Definitely try it out.

Not a bad hibachi place. Not great, either, but I'd go back. My only real beef was that the shrimp was a bit overdone. The staff was good, but a bit rushed.

Horrible experience! Sauce for salad watered down, soup not much flavor. Asked not to have my vegetables cooked with broccoli. Cook confirmed it and mixed it up with broccoli still! My son has seafood allergies and several times cook attempted give my son food, after the utensils were used to cook seafood.

One of my worst experience ever. Food was distrusting. The waiter was not really taking care of us because to busy on replaying messages on his phone.

its a standard Hibachi restaurant, kinda like a slower, lower quality Benihana. It was fine but its not like the guy did anything crazy...in fact I wasnt even paying attention. the food was...nothing special. it didnt taste bad but it was not worth the price. Green tea was delicious and the woman waitress was very good, never had to ask for refills. Food was cooked quick and have no complaints about service.

Seriously rude staff. We came in an hour before they closed, all we wanted was sushi, the taller guy working there rolled his eyes and a few glared at us while we ate. The sushi wasn't that fresh either, we were praying we wouldn't get sick with the way we were treated and the way our sushi tasted. I will never go back, not even for family.

love the sushi here, i only get the tempura tuna rolls and in the restaurant they always come out fresh and today had a really good amount of sauce (when i get it to go i have to order extra eel sauce :/ ) service is quick, theyre good at lunch for when i need to get back to work in less than an hour. i tried the hot tea today for the first time, definitely not impressed, perhaps i dont know what to compare it to but it tasted like straight up seaweed :/

Their sushi isn't the best in the area, but it's not terrible. They usually have specials running so it's fairly inexpensive. I'll go if I'm really craving sushi, but I would prefer to go to other sushi restaurants in the area

Service is absolutely horrible. Staff ignores any special requests. Asked simply to have beef cooked separate from chicken and shrimp and he was clueless. Server very disconnected. Food was good. New to the area and picked this one to try first. Will not return unless the other options somehow are worse.

Came with my family for Hibachi food (not at the Habachi table). My family would give it 4 stars, but I'm more of a critic. First they charge the same price wherever you eat but don't give you shrimp appertizer eating at a table. Decent sized portions and reasonably priced. Soup was watery and salad had too much dressing. Fried rice was included but was nothing special. I had the shrimp and chicken. My son had the shrimp, chicken and beef and it was a lot of food! The vegetables had a little too much soy sauce. My wife raved about this place. She first came with someone from Dayton. Daytonians love it. It was decent but was not worth raving over. The ambiance was OK. I would go back if others wanted to, but would not search it out.

Cheap sushi! Not the best, but not too bad either. I haven't tried the nigiri, which is raw fish on rice, but I like the rolls a lot. They have great deals on sushi during lunch on weekdays. The service is fine by me, but people I've dined with have complained. It seems like the staff has gotten the order wrong for at least one member of my party each time I've gone. They always fix the order, but it may take awhile.

We did hibachi, which is always fun and delicious. My girlfriend found a long black hair in her food immediately as we started eating. We addressed it with a manager to which her reply was "that's impossible, they all wear hairnets!" Meanwhile, neither her or any of the waitresses, with long black hair, have hairnets on. They remade her dinner, which was obviously to be expected but I had to argue with them about crediting even $5 off our bill.

First, let me say that the food is passable. My problem is that that the grills are dirty, the place itself is gloomy and dim, and some of the edit staff don't speak English. When the inevitable confusion arises, the hostess will loudly and animatedly dismiss you and walk away. This place has potential but, until they realize it, you are better off somewhere else.

The food in the restaurant is not bad, but the price is a bit high. The traffic in the restaurant is just soso. That's probably why they raise the price of the food to make up the number. It's just a typical Japanese restaurant.

First, I can't get over the whole hibachi thing. A hibachi is a charcol grill, an iron grill (iron hot plate) is a teppan. But welcome to Ohio where they reject your reality and substitute their own then stand by it as if it had always been so. Meh. Second, I've had better food from a street vendor with leprosy (always puts a little of himself in every dish). The entire meal sucked from end to end. Let's go through it in order, shall we..... They have no way to tell who came in, in what order so you better make a positive impression on whoever greets you at the door (if you're greeted at all) or you'll wait.... and wait..... and wait. But that's ok, right? Waiting for a wonderful experience is just fine, waiting for what I got seems insulting. I read another review here that made mention of finely chopped fish with fillers and I thought, "Well, that's just crazy. Perhaps the poor person doesn't know how to order sushi." I so, so, so apologize from not believing you! I ordered the spicy tuna. Now let me start by saying I'm a vegetarian and have been for years and years...... but sushi is a weakness. No longer, thank you! Sake has cured me of ever ordering sushi in a land locked state.......EVER. Seriously, what I got was tuna paste wrapped in rice and nori. The. Saddest. Thing. On. Earth. If I were their sushi chef I would have killed myself rather than send that out. I couldn't eat it. And it was served on a broken plate! Not a little chipped but the whole corner broken off. The salad was sunken under what seemed like a ranch dressing with some ginger thrown in for an Asian 'flare'. Really? Just stop. Didn't eat very much of that, just what I could shake free of the glop. The soup, traditionally should have been miso, was a clear meat broth with a couple of sad mushroom slices floating around in it. Didn't eat that either. My teppanyaki vegetables were fine. Seriously, how can you screw that up. And our chef was mildly entertaining but seemed bored and uninterested. All in all, I left there very broke and still hungry. The worst part is that Daytonians rave about this place. My beloved says, "Do you think it speaks more about the area and its people or about the restaurant?" I think it's partly both. To think that this is what my poor neighbors think is a good Japanese experience breaks my heart but I think it's about the only such venue in town. But that the restaurant passes off such horrid food because they can get away with it is criminal. It's not as if they're Persian running a Japanese eatery..... they are Japanese with the only Teppan Grill in the area - where is your honor? HAVE SOME PRIDE! We'll be visiting my family next February in the midst of the densest Japanese population in all of California. I plan on ruining my sweetie with cheapest teppan grill I know.

It's like my favorite place to have sushi and grilled food. The sushi is the best ever!

If yelp would let me do 3.5 stars (like it should) then thats whatd id give it. First of all, love the food. Especially the hibachi anything really. Sake can get a bit expensive but mostly the food is worth it. Staff can be nice or they might act like they could give a damn. As long as the food comes in a timely manner I dont really care. Just dont expect bubbling personalities.

I have been here several times, the first few were years ago and back then I had zero clue about sushi or Japanese food. Now that I know better this place stinks! The wait staff barely speak English, which means you cannot understand them and vice versa. I didn't get part of my food, either she was not listening or did not understand. I got a JB roll and the salmon was a freaky brown icky color. And I immediately said something about the freshness of it. I took a bite and it tasted off, but the server wanted to argue the freshness with me, then ANOTHER server came and argued the freshness. LOOK, its brown NOT pink and it tastes weird. I had a cream cheese roll the day before with salmon, avocado and cream cheese and it was perfect and from KROGER no less. Do NOT argue about the taste and freshness with me. I am NOT an idiot American who has NEVER eaten sushi. I eat it at least 1-3 times a week. I know what I like and I know when it is nasty vs. fresh. I also ordered a kids shrimp hibachi, no issues with that. It was my 12 yr old son's birthday and he requested Sake. Which is the ONLY reason we went, and we WILL NOT BE BACK!!!! 30 bucks for 2 appetizers and a kids meal and and a sushi roll that was nasty. I had to go home and make myself a sandwich. Go down the street to Sushi Cafe, it is WAY better. No hibachi that you can watch, it is behind the scenes, but the sushi is FRESH!!!!!!!

We enjoy an occasional visit to Sake. It has good quality food with the full teppanyaki experience. Like any teppanyaki restaurant, price is on the high side. They regularly run specials on their sushi for added value. The atmosphere is fun and casual... Always a couple of birthday parties or other special occasions being celebrated. Be sure to have a reservation or get their early if you want a chef table.

I hate to write a bad review, my mother always told me..."if you can't say something nice"....yeah yeah we all know. But I felt I needed to warn all the good people of the Yelp community. This place is the worst! I only had the sushi but they had made the fish into a sort of...paste. Confusing I know, but basically to save on cost, they chop up the fish, mix it with filler and then spread it on the rice. The first thought that ran through my mind when I put it in my mounth: ahhh! Never do that again! Honestly the worst sushi I have EVER had.

I have eaten here at least 20 plus times. The service and food can be average and sometimes below average at times but overall it is a good dining experience. The hostess does not have an organized way of seating people which can be very frustrating. The sushi is very good. I recommend the sushi boat if you and a group of people want a lot of sushi. I love the ginger dressing at this restaurant. The food at the hibachi is 50/50 which is all dependent on the chef.

My family and I had lunch here on a Saturday at Sake. We have eaten at this restaurant at least two other times in the past, but this time the service was terrible. First, there was confusion between my mom and the waitress about the description of the "sushi lunch" because the waitress spoke little English. The waitress was unable to tell my mom whether or not the sushi lunch was served with sashimi (which I find very odd for a Japanese restaurant waitress...) The the waitress argued with us about whether or not rice was served with lunch entrees (the menu specifically stated that all entrees were served with rice, but the waitress denied it). Of the 4 of us, 3 of our entrees arrived out promptly, followed by our appetizers (which we had ordered about 10 minutes prior to our entrees). When my mom realized that the waitress had served her sashimi (which she does NOT eat), another waiter came over to explain the situation. He just shrugged his shoulders and said, "Well, that's too bad". He told my mom that they could not fix her order because her food was already made, and that what she was served was what she would get. I was infuriated! My mom hadn't touched any of her food, and it was not her fault that the waitress could not explain the contents of the popular "sushi lunch". What happened to CUSTOMER SERVICE? There were only two other parties in the entire restaurant at the time, so their lack of caring was not because they were busy. Not only did they mess up my mom's order, they forgot parts of my order as well. I will never return to this restaurant because it's obvious they DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. Their prices are also too high for such mediocrity. I would recommend trying Thai 9 (downtown) for sushi and good Thai food instead.
