One of my favorite restaurants in town. Always a great experience and way more traditional than most Mexican places in the area. They are always very friendly and provide great service!

Very "Americanized" Mexican food with no authenticity. The service was good but the use of Kraft cheese and canned beans can't make up for that. You could get better Mexican in Dayton!

This place was horrible!!! My wife's veggie burrito had frozen vegetables in it! Mine was not so great chips and salsa bland no flavor! I would of rather gone to Taco Bell no joke!!!

Delicious, homestyle mexican food and excellent service. The staff is incredibly friendly and sweet. The food isn't anything to write home about, but yummy and satisfying. A step up from any chain restaurant around. Try the churros...so good!

Fairly typical Mexican fare, although I have to say that I enjoyed it a bit more than other places I've been around town. It's got a bit rougher of a feel inside vs. Piramides, Toro, etc. - and when we went last night there was one other couple there who left as we arrived. The folks there seemed friendly enough, and the server was ok. Chips and salsa were pretty decent - I prefer the spicier of the two they brought us, more flavor and more interesting that the standard stuff. The lady had a combo relleno (stuffed pepper) and taco, and I went for the straight relleno as they are one of my favorites. The food was good, but right on the line as far as temperature - by the time I was halfway through things were getting a little cold. I do want to try the Napolitos (sp?), strips of cactus with eggs, tortillas and cheese - sounds interesting and a little different. Minuses - no fountain coke, lukewarm food, so-so atmosphere, no tortillas with the relleno entree, only 2 veggie entrees Pluses - decent folks and service, food was pretty ok, and it's right down the street I gotta check out Mixteca on Third Street.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
