Although I have had some less than desirable experiences with the wait staff in the past, I find more recent visits to Brixx are met with a smiling and expedient wait staff. Brixx entertains us with patio-side live music and trivia nights, and friendly clientele that prove to be great conversationalists. I always love the fried fish sandwich and the quesadillas are delicious. Best of all, they have my beloved Shock Top on tap. I can't wait until summer to enjoy the sunset and a local band on the patio with some friends and some brews.

Ok so this visit earned an additional star. I played it safe this time around and ordered the BBQ chicken wings for 7.50 and they were good. Not the best wings in the city but it did the job.

They have a decent beer selection, but I was not particularly impressed by the food. I had a turkey melt. The pretzel bread was ok but not great. Sweet potato fries were ok. The waitress was great though.

This place always has good music and decent bar fare to chew on. Their proximity to Fifth Third Field is the real clincher, but parking can be dicey. I love their Dragon's Toes with the spicy/sweet chili sauce. Don't worry, no dragons were harmed in preparing your dinner...it's just chicken chunks.

Killer wings. They fry them like they're supposed to be fried. Ask for extra sauce.

This place was gross and serves cheap vodka. Life is too short to drink cheap vodka.

I've eaten here a few times with friends and although I've never been terribly impressed, but it's solid enough for bar food. The atmosphere is pretty standard sports bar/kischy (think TGI Apple-days). Location is close to the ballpark, and they have their own parking, which is nice. Their nachos seem a bit soggy (I've only had them with the chilli), but they're pretty large and the flavour is good. The mozzarella sticks are actually rather large half moons and they were nice and crispy. Friends seemed to enjoy their bourbon burgers, doughnut burgers, and reuben sandwiches. I've had the Reuben, and though it's wasn't the finest example it was more than passable. Salads are pretty much a standard american iceberg lettuce with cheese and diced tomatoes, dressing on the side sort of ordeal... nothing fancy, nothing overly flavourful, just filler. The Italian sub was decent, once again: not great, not bad. Nothing you couldn't get at mid grade sub shop. I will say that each time I've been there people have had to ask for things that were listed on the menu as coming with their items: a lack of bourbon sauce on a bourbon burger, bacon on another burger, lettuce/tomato/onion/mayo on another... not a big deal IMO, and since I have always been here in a group of ~10 people I totally understand dealing with larger groups is a pain, but it seems a consistent thing. Prices are all pretty low, so you won't break the bank here. They have a patio that sometimes has music. It can get crowded, but I've never been one for patio dining in the Midwest, humidity and all. Overall, I wouldn't probably choose this as a place to go, but when friends say "Let's go here" I'm not going to groan or pass.

This is your typical restaurant/bar. The food is just ok and nothing special to right home about. We typically go here when we go downtown to the Dayton Dragon's game because it is right across the street from Fifth Third Field. On game days this place is really busy so you need to get there early. Service can also be pretty bad on game days because there seems to never be enough people.

I must go out on the wrong days. When we went here, it was about 14 degrees in the place, there were four people at the bar and it still took 20 minutes to get a beer. When we did get our food, it was cold too....would have been even if they brought it straight out of the fryer when it's 14 degrees. We just got a couple of appetizers, which, for what they were, were overpriced. I thought I was getting battered jalapeno slices -- called bottle caps lots of places -- I got fried peppers with no breading. Really? You screw up that bad and serve it anyway? There's "Lightly breaded" and then there's naked. My friend's fries were also just ok. At least they looked like French Fries. If you're looking for a hamburger and you're going to a baseball game, there's a grill almost directly across from the front door of Brixx on the other side of the bar in Fifth Third Field. THOSE are good hamburgers.

Great stop before or after a Dragon's game. Nice outside patio for warmer weather and a cozy atmosphere inside as well. Great salads, and most of their bar food choices are consistently a step or two above standard fare. Wait staff helpful, friendly, and don't make you feel like you have to leave the second you're done with your meal. We enjoyed live music there on a recent Friday night and a Sunday (?) trivia challenge was fun as well... Nice spot!!

Best waffer fries anywhere. We were waiting for friends to go see a game just dropped in for a sandwich. We tried the waffer fries and wow. Crispy outside and fluffy inside. Italian sandwich was ok. Needs sethimg better than Italian dressing for taste. Maybe better pepperin and salami? Waite staff very nice, quick, and attentive. Thanks.
