Basic bar. Parole officers and their parolees make it interesting. Across the street from county courthouse. Can be mellow some nights and fall down drunk other nights. Not for everyone.

Solid dive bar with warm and friendly atmosphere. Friendly, outgoing patrons and staff. Cheap beers and shots abound, and there are a few quality beers on tap too. Funny atmosphere with quite a few sloshed patrons. Definitely worth checking out if you're downtown and are looking for cheap drinks.

Main Bar is my favorite local NFL viewing spot. Great friendly atmosphere, interesting draft beer options, good beer prices, and NFL Ticket on decent-sized flat screens. This isn't a fancy spot, so don't come looking for beers of the world, martinis made with rare ingredients, or a fine wine list. Just real people watching football and giving each other a good-spirited hard time.

By far my favorite bar in Columbus. Main Bar is the definition of a whole in the wall, but they offer a kind staff and strong drinks that aren't too expensive at all. I spent New Years there and it was like celebrating with family. This is a great place to relax after work or spend a Saturday night with friends.

If your looking for a causal place for drinks and food The Main Bar has it. With such a diverse group of customers your sure to make a new friend. There is a patio with seating for smokers or if you just want some fresh air, chat or just listen to the music. The owner (Jim) is a great guy, very friendly and the bartenders are very attentive to there customers. So come to The Main Bar and meet a new friend. **NOTE...There menu as a range of items from a Angus hamburger to hot wings, crab cakes and pizza. They also serve lunch starting at 11am.

The Main bar is a crowded tiny little place unknown to most people because of its off the beaten path location. Located near the once popular Red Zone, the Westin, and the juvenile jail it would be easy to never know of its existence. It would also be a mistake. The Main bar is small, but that to me is a large part of its charm. I like a place where you can walk in and they know your name. Its also great if you have a lot of people because you can pretty much take up the whole bar and make it your own. The music is all juke box so you can be rocking it out to Journey one second and crying to Johnny Cash at the next. The bathrooms are a little gross, but have a few drinks and you will never remember. Smokers are banished to the front sidewalk but a glass window gives plenty of opportunity to keep an eye on your desperate to make out friends or your bar seat. Being so small the Main bar is great to meet people because you are always shoulder to shoulder with someone. The drinks are affordable and the bartenders keep up with the demands of the crowd. I have even seen a regular jump behind the bar once to help them out. Fun! The only downside to this bar is the neighborhood. If you park, lock your doors and have somebody walk you out. Just to be safe. And use the pay lot out front of the bar. Its not worth saving a buck to park in the lonely ghost garage of city center.
