This was another of our "let's do as the locals do" trials. Now, Cincinnati chili is something that is new to me. However, the whole three-way, spaghetti chili concept is not, as I grew up in the St. Louis area and we had that at Steak n Shake as well as every local diner when I was a kid. I have to agree about the "acquired taste" comment. A little too much cinnamon for my tastes, but as a fan of Texas chili, I can certainly appreciate the lack of beans. The service was extremely friendly, and very fast. I can't tell you enough how nice the entire staff was. I had chili three way, and my wife had it five way (I think) with onions. We were both pleased with the quality as well as the quantity...the portions are BIG, and I should have just gotten the smallest size, but went with the medium. Again, I wasn't totally sold on the taste, but I think they're doing things the right way, and for a chain, that's saying a lot.

Ok, Here's the deal. If your gut is larger than your ass and you no longer can wear pants that dont stretch. Come on down. Not only do they take your order but they bring it to you. Thats right fat fucks. A Fast food joint where your only job is consume. I wouldn't be surprised if at some point in the near future they created a trolley system that scuttles out to the parking lot, slides you into a big bucket, rolls you inside. from there the chili, cheese, onions, what-ever-the-fuck you want is poured directly onto you and into your shame bucket. Eat up, theres a bucks game on TV. BTW if your a gluttonous fat fuck on the go you can get in here, scarf your food down and be out before your relaxed colon even has a chance to say blegh. fuck you america. 200 years of freedom and this is the best we have to offer.

Standard fare for Skyline chili. Clean, effecient, and friendly staff. Talkative if not busy. If you like Skyline then it is gonna be for you.

Have heard so much about Skyline Chili so, since I was driving through Columbus, I thought I'd try it. The place was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. Prices were decent. I asked what they were noted for and the server said their Cheese Coney and their Three Way Chili. I order a Coney and a small 3-Way. Big disappointment. It was nothing special. The spaghetti was overcooked and the "secret recipe" chili tasted like any canned chili. The Coney was also nothing special. I have no idea what all the fuss is about this place. If their chili is their signature dish, then any of the other chili based items on the menu would suffer from the same failing, namely substandard chili. Perhaps it has something to do with the history of the place, being started by a Greek immigrant. Maybe this was Greek style chili but it certainly wasn't Texas, Tex-Mex, or anything else other than Hormel canned chili or the like. At least now, when the "In Crowd" wax poetic about Skyline Chili, I can make informed comments. Sadly, they will be negative.

This Skyline Chili is next door to my current workplace... Bob Evans Farms. As I cannot get Skyline Chili in Alabama, I take every opportunity when I'm in Cincinnati, Dayton, Indianapolis, Clearwater or Columbus to get a Five-Way and a Cheese Coney. They now have the Extreme Habanero Cheese full-time which is a bit tastier than the standard Cheddar (but Cheddar is great too). I have not tried the Burrito or other menu items because I cannot get away from the Five-Way.

Love Skyline. This location is convenient, has good service and a drive thru.

My friends and I were in Columbus and the locals said we must try out Skyline Chili. So we did, despite it being out of our way. I was especially not happy since I had a 10 hour drive ahead of me that day. Welp, it was AWESOME. The food was fantastic. I had a 4 way chili thingie with onions (not a fan of beans) and it was the best non-gourmet chili I've had. One of my friends had the vegetarian beans and rice thing and she claimed it was also amazing. I didn't try it since I didn't like beans, though. We had some funnel cake fries (exactly what they sound like) afterwards and despite feeling horrible for eating them they were utterly delicious. Two of our party were from Texas and they also had high praises of the place. The staff was super duper awesomely friendly too. We ended up chatting with them for a while since we went around 3PM and business was slow. One of my friends ended up buying a gallon jug of their hot sauce. We tweeted about our awesome time, and their corporate marketing account actually tweeted back!

I love Skyline's food, but the food is not the issue with this location. The service has just gotten so bad at this location that we stopped going to it. Maybe if they could get some servers that were not rude...maybe we would try it again

I'm a Cincinnati girl born and raised, so Skyline has basically been a food group for me since I was in the womb. However...it's an acquired taste, and I've taken many people for their first meal here only to find a range of negative reactions from confusion ("this is chili? where are the beans?") to outright disgust ("spicy meat-water"). It's more of a Greek style coney sauce, and yes, when it's poured over spaghetti and topped with shredded cheese, we call it a three way. Eating one is probably not the most fun you'll get from that phrase, but I wouldn't know. That being said, if you DO like Skyline, this location is one of the better ones in Columbus. It is very rarely busy so the service is fast, and they don't skimp on the cheese. If you like things on the spicier side try the "extreme" cheddar, which is blended cheddar and habanero. They also have a good range of non-chili items for all the haters, and vegetarian versions of the chili dishes too. I only wish Skyline was as popular here as it is back home, none of the locations in Columbus are open later than 9 or 10 pm. There really is no better late night food to pass out in than a plate of chili cheese fries and a mountain dew.

Love Skyline, but what made the difference this time was the service. Our server Erica was amazing, her happiness and good spirit lifted my day. She is one of the best servers I have encountered and believed she should be recognized!

My favorite restaurant to hit up when I come to Ohio. As a southerner you really dont get to experience food like this back home. Its different and amazing at the same time. Ive tried almost everything on the menu and you cant go wrong with whatever you decide.
