One of my favorite bars in the area. The vibe is always chill and comfortable. Service is always pretty quick and they have excellent drinks. Obviously, the standout is their beer. It's always rotating and the bartenders are pretty well versed in the different drafts. Although, they don't have a happy hour or any specials and only have a few other brands/breweries on tap. The also have an excellent cocktail menu and for top shelf stuff, it's not too expensive. Five bucks for a Sailor Jerry Dark n' Stormy?!? Now for the atmosphere. This is where my 5 stars come in. This place is hipster-y and a little grungy, but I never feel out of place. It's super relaxed with big picnic tables and 2 (TWO!) patios. They have classic Edison bulbs and hops vines growing outside. So cool! There's only 1 TV and the vibe is definitely conversational and community-centered. They always have great music- usually a DJ spinnig some vinyl (legit, dude). It's chill and I feel cooler just by being there- no effort needed. They don't have a kitchen but almost always have a food truck parked outside- and they'll bring your food right to you. Large parking lot. Enough said. Come as you are and just take a seat at the bar. For realz, you'll like it here. Oh, and they have a bar-manager cat and he's adorable.

Favorite bar in Columbus. Not only does the name kick ass and put that Jack White song immediately in my head (It's quite possible that I'm your third man girl, but it's a fact that I'm the seventh son), it's also a great venue with great beer. I love the patio, how the garage doors open up on particularly nice days, the rotation of food trucks (That Food Truck & Challah, in particular), the ambience, the string of lights around the front and back patios, the Assistant Manager cat (attention all bars: get a bar cat.) Seventh Son beer is also very good (that humulus nimbus, tho.) The owners are very generous, donating their space for one of our upcoming fundraisers. Nothing but good experiences here. And it has been my experience that even though everyone LOOKS really surly, they are actually very friendly and attentive. At least they are to me. Cuz I'm great.

This really is more of a 2.5 for me, but I am giving 3 stars because maybe it was just a bad day to go. I have had Seventh Son beer at other places around the city and thought it was pretty good so we decided to go and see how the bar is. Let's just say you have to been cool with being crammed with a bunch of people. I don't really like the big crowds just congregating around a bar and it made it kind of difficult to actually get our beer. Once I got the bar tenders attention I ordered two beers and was told that I would have to wait because the keg was out. That's fine, I get it this happens, but what I didn't like is that she clearly didn't care. I think they maybe were just off that day because there seemed to be a party in the back, but I don't know for sure. The beer itself was fine. Nothing too impressive really, but not bad. I guess I would go again maybe, but not soon.

At this point, the Columbus craft beer market is obviously booming, so it's hard for me to pick any one brewery as my favorite. I'd say Seventh Son comes closest to taking the cake, not only with the quality of the beers they're producing but also the awesome brew house they have on 4th St. Their conversion of an old garage was one of the early businesses to really help start the transformation of the 4th St/Italian Village area. First of all, you can check out the brew system from the outside just by looking into the big garage doors to see the setup. Second, Seventh Son is so open that it makes it the perfect Spring/Summer/Fall place to hang out and have a brew. They have a smaller patio facing 4th St and then a much larger one in the back with plenty of tables. The garage doors open out to the patio so even if you don't have a spot outside, it feels like you do. They also have a fairly large event space inside as well which seems occupied more often than not. You can find Seventh Son just about anywhere in Columbus that's serving up local beers, and I'd say the Strong Ale and the Sessian IPA, Wuffles, are the two favorites. Don't stick to just these two though, because they have a wide selection on tap at the brew house all the time. Seventh Son does not serve food here, but they do always have a food truck on hand, and you can see the truck schedule on the website. Usually, it's been a mix between That Food Truck and Challah! with a few others sprinkled in. If you're looking to check out some great beer in Columbus as well as an awesome bar, Seventh Son would be my pick. You can actually stop here first and head down 5th Ave to Brothers Drake and continue down High St. to check out the other breweries in Columbus, but Seventh Son makes a great first stop on the Columbus brew trail.

We visited Seventh Son on a sunny Friday evening and had a couple beers on the back porch and really enjoyed it! They also have a front patio where a food truck was parked. I did get to see food that someone ordered which looked like fries loaded with lots of goodies-looked amazing! To drink we tried the Scientist IPA first, and then had what they call the "kitchen sink" - because they put so many different things in it they can't even classify it. It was dark in color but actually tasted pretty mild. I liked it. I noticed they have a room inside which looks like it could accommodate a big party, sounds like a really fun idea to me! Nice bathrooms also. Come visit this place for a relaxing and fun evening!!

Their house brews are only $5 which is more than fair of a price for such tasty local brews. The atmosphere is very hip and trendy. They even had a food truck stationed right outside of their establishment. Nice collab there! It's worth noting that everyone there was beautiful. I'm glad I put an ounce of effort into my look that night. Lol Of course, I had the strongest beer available, the Syzergy Double IPA. I'm a fan of IPAs and this was no exception. There were bright notes yet deep flavor. I was told that The Scientist was a popular choice to have. Unfortunately I was the DD that might so I could only have one beer. I guess this means I have to go back to try it! :D

Local craft brewery with awesome space--both indoor and outdoor--plus food truck...equals a night of good and chill times. Check out their website/instagram for special releases/taps. It can get really tight and busy when the weather is not up to par, but live it up this summer because it's gonna be bustling and before you know it you'll have 3 beers on your tab and no regrets. Suggested schedule? Do your serious work a couple doors down at Fox in the Snow...and then when 4pm hits head on over for some great beers. PS tons of parking is available across the street!

Coming from Cincinnati. I am all too familiar with good breweries. However; the atmosphere of this place was phenomenal. The staff were knowledgable and genuine. The beer was delicious and I will return to this establishment.

Can't say enough about this brewery. One of the best in town, if not anywhere. I have been here a couple of times now and always ready to go back. The flights of beer are great or you can get pints, 5oz. Pours. Specialty drinks and cocktails too. The staff are always very cool.

Came by the brewery the other day. Being a fan of their American strong ale I tried their new Rye American strong ale. Complete disappointment. Then I go to a local restaurant and after thinking I ordered a classic American strong ale by seventh son to my dismay double takes the draft list and realized I got a "ruddy amber" American strong ale. Completely disappointed again. WTF Seventh Son step your game up and quit trying to capitalize with crappy one off's of a classic solid brew.

An awesome way to spend a summer evening -- or an evening any time of the year. They have a good variety of drinks, with something new popping up quite frequently. You'll definitely find something you like here! I love both their indoor and outdoor spaces. The indoor space is like a renovated garage, which gives it a nice casual feeling and a wide open space. The outdoor patio area is a great place to be when the weather is food outside. If you're seated out front, you're right next to the food truck, which currently serves awesome tacos (a little pricey though) and tamales. Overall a chill, great place for drinks with friends. It can get crowded on the weekends, so seats are sometimes hard to find. Parking has never been an issue around the area though, street parking is plentiful.

Love this brewery, great beers and a beautiful interior and exterior patio for hanging out. Bar inside is small but once you grab a beer there are a bunch of areas to spread out and hang out with friends. The beer is great, bunch of IPAs, a famous super pale ale and an oatmeal stout. Also, a food truck is parked outside for eating. Perfect combo!

  • Angela H.

Good beers. I wish they had some deals or happy hour. At 8pm the beers were $5 per draft. They had three guest drafts, which was nice. Bartenders were helpful and attentive. The decor was nice, love the strings of light everywhere. There is a rotating lineup of food trucks. They park right by the patio and deliver to wherever you are in the bar. This place is amazing for patio weather. When it's 70 degrees out, clear, this place is packed. Awesome experience and tasty beers, just wish there had been beer deals or lower prices!

  • Jen R.

Love this place! Lots of indoor seating at the bar, tables, and a couch, and two patios! Fantastic beer. The Humulus Nimbus is my go-to. Nice vibe and there is always a food truck parked outside for snacks :)

OVERALL AMAZING!!! This place feels like a big barn and a great hang to be with friends, bring cards, play games, grab some beverages (my husband bought ours, so I cannot speak to the expense, unfortunately)... VIBE - chill, laid back, loud/chatting -- it was a Friday night. DRINKS - my white wine was great, I definitely do not feel like it was in anyway watered down - thankfully! FOOD - the food truck outside equals PHENOMENAL -- we just got fries, but the people next to us (communal seating) got several items all looked good & looked like they were enjoying it, as were we with our fries!! BATHROOMS - a bit above a BAR bathroom, meh! PARKING - they have a lot, but we parked on the street across from them & ran across. Really really REALLY enjoyed this spot & would highly recommend!!

Another of the wonderful craft breweries that have become so popular in the last decade. I hope these guys survive the economically inevitable consolidations that will hit this sector in the next few years. Why? Because they make a damn fine product and run their business in an innovative way. The upsides: great brews, super knowledgable staff, locally made hard alcohol drinks, and a repurposed building in a neighborhood that needed entrepreneurs to roll the dice and help catalyze the renovation. The downsides: parking is very limited, those without beards/tattoos/porkpie hats may feel tragically unhip, and you eventually have to leave and go back out into the real world. Cruel. Try this place, take home a growler or two, and hope that the reason you have their bottles in your house 50 years from now is because you are still buying from them rather than holding on to the bottles nostalgically like they do with the ones above their bar.

  • Whitney S.

This is the perfect spring and summer hang out for day drinking! It is an old garage, and they open the doors to two large patios. Seating is usually scarce because it is a hoppin' joint, but nothing less than your average bar. Seventh Son brews their own beer (and from what I have heard it is great) but I go for the cocktails! The Cactus flower is my fav right now!!! They don't serve food here but there is always a food truck right outside that never disappoints!

  • Heather D.

Good beer. Nice patio. Front & back patios. Food truck if you're hungry. They have a real cat lounging on a chair. They have a fire pit. I got a mongrel, a red. My man got a brown ale. Baker crashed the day & got a mongrel too.

  • Charlie M.

I have been there a twice now and love it enough to tell all my friends about it and try to get them to visit with me! The vibe is very fun. It's almost like a laid-back hipster hang out. I'm pretty sure that it was converted from an old car garage, because there are some awesome glass garage doors that they have open when the weather is nice. The whole place just feels like a fun place where you would be happy to drink with your friends and enjoy one another. The beers are excellent but they also have a full bar which is nice if you have friends that aren't beer lovers. Honestly, this is a place which I would want to own with my friends one day. Super fun, super laid back, but also awesome!

  • Holly Jo J.

The beer is good and the ambiance is even better. The amount of outdoor patio seating is definitely the main draw! I can't wait to spend many spring/summer/fall afternoons here!

Good parking, nice bartenders, cool space, delicious brews. The Humulus Nimbus Super Pale Ale is my personal fave, although their strong ale is also great. Hit the patio if it's nice, or head to the tables in the back if you have a larger group (I've planned many a birthday/going away party in that space). You can bring food in from outside, or grab something from the food trucks that are in the parking lot.

Great beer and really nice staff. Excellent ambiance. Get there early, parking lot fills up fast.

SO BUMMED FOR MY FIRST TRIP! Being columbus craft beer week, I was so excited to go to seventh son! This night, some sort of race just ended in the parking lot. It WAS busy, I won't deny that. When I got up to the bar, I asked if flights were available, the bartender sighed and said it would take a bit of time. She was clearly aggravated by this request. I said, that's fine. She literally rolled her eyes at me for ordering flights at a craft beer brewery! What a shocking order! So we got the flights. Beers were great, really enjoyed the new beers I got to try. Then came tab out time ::sigh:: We waited patiently to get our bills, in the meantime I asked the bar back to see if they had a large hat available. The only one displayed was small. He told me, " it's too busy to get merch." WHAT? why sell merch if it's only available during slow hours? This seemed unproductive as a business. Fine, I'll keep my money. The bartender that did tab us out was nice and helpful, but that was 1 of 3, not a great ratio. As far as beer went, it was great! Although it was busy there was plenty of seating. I went with a friend that had been multiple times and said this shoddy customer service wasn't his previous experience. That being said, I'll give it another shot in the future, but as a first experience at a place that I was so excited to go, I left pretty bummed out.

Great beer! The food truck looked awesome, but haven't eaten there yet. These guys know more about beer than you know about anything.

Great place to enjoy a beer after work. A wide variety of beer for all preferences, not IPA happy like most cbus breweries. No food, but great rotation of food trucks( Aromaku-Friday nights is the best). And they have a bar cat that comes and goes, how can you not love that!

It wasn't as busy as I expected it to be for a Thursday night, but that worked in our favor. It was pretty cold that night though. We had no problem finding a table and getting our beers. There is a lot of outdoor seating here - more outdoor than indoor, which is great for the warmer months. I tried the American Strong Ale and Golden Ratio IPA. I was pleasantly surprised with both of these choices. In fact, I'm pumped to go back and try more of them! But I'd be torn considering I can't wait to have these two again. One of the guys we were with doesn't like beer and this brewery had liquor as well, so that's a bonus for those that like to vary it up throughout the night. My only complaint is that the music was WAY too loud in the main bar area. I know, I know. I'm an old man. But our group could not possibly stay in the bar area, because it wasn't possible to talk to each other. Lucky for us old guys in our 30s, there is a room in back with tables. We were outside for a while until it was too cold - that's the best place to enjoy this bar. There are food trucks many nights per week if you're looking for food. The decor was nice throughout. It seems to be a converted former car repair garage. So it's impressive what's been done with the place. There is not a lot of parking in the private lot, so plan on street parking in the neighborhood. I didn't mind the walk myself, but I wouldn't want my wife walking back there. End result: I'd go back when the occasion presents itself. Seventh son impressed me enough to have me back, considering all of the local Columbus brewery options. And I'm definitely looking for their beer at other restaurants and shops when I go out.

Seventh Son was our second stop on the Columbus Brewery Tour, and we loved it! The head brewer was able to tell us all about the brewing process, how to achieve unique tastes, their beers. It was extremely informational, and he was clearly extremely passionate about his work. It's always great to see someone who really loves what they do, let alone hear them talk about it in detail! Afterwards, we got to try some of their beers. They were great! I think what I was most impressed by, though, was the atmosphere. The garage doors made it feel really open and accessible. I saw the back room and some outside benches, which I would imagine would be great in the summer. We didn't get to try the food trucks, though they smelled amazinggg. On our way out, we saw a kitty hanging out inside. Cats are worth at least an extra star, right? (haha) Overall, would definitely come back! We didn't make it to their harvest festival like we wanted to, so we'll have to pencil in another trip soon!

Seventh Son Brewing - so close to 5 stars. In fact, in the late spring, throughout the summer, and in the fall, you've earned those 5 stars. Then you can enjoy the plethora of tables out front, the picnic tables out back, the space inside, the bar, wherever you please! Heck, in the spring and the fall you can even keep warm by the fires they have outside. Winter, however, as the midwest tends to do, makes Seventh Son its "mistress." Let's just put it that way. The winter has its way with Seventh Son and turns its popularity against it. In the winter it is often too crowded and too loud because people can't use the outside areas. The minimalist style Seventh Son embraces - concrete, metal, etc - leads you not being able to hear much of your friends' conversations... but plenty of everyone else's. All in all? A very nice addition to Columbus and a place I'm very willing to go at all times except winter. Oh winter.

I went with a group of 8 people on a Saturday night. Like some other reviews have mentioned, the place is busy, but you don't feel overcrowded. There's plenty of seating room. I quite enjoyed the atmosphere, it's a good hangout place. Low lights, but not too low you can't see. Music playing, but not loud enough to drown out conversation. Drinks were pretty good. Unfortunately they were out of the "wuffle" and the stout. I tried the CBC shandy, the seventh son grand ale, and another I forgot the name of...it was like the third on the list. A friend got the IPA. They were all good, shandy especially. I really enjoy stouts so I'll be back some other time to try that out. At only five bucks a draught beer, it's a great price too. All in all, I'll be back, I'm sure. I took off a star because they were out of several beers, including some I wanted. I expected they to not run out so quick, but hey, that just means people love the place, right?

If you are just looking for a beer and a good place to sit with friends and talk, this is four or five stars, depending on the tap selection at the time... Just don't come here looking for a brew"pub" they usually have a food truck on site, but that is the extent of the food and the interior spaces are often cramped, hot and have a really bad echo that amplifies noise. To emphasize the positives if it is a good night to be on the patio there... I have had some killer pale, red and IP(Ales) at Seventh Son.

Seventh Son is top on my list on places to hang out. Friendly staff and inviting atmosphere. I live about 2 blocks away which makes it convenient. The Humulus Nimbus Super Pale Ale and Golden Ratio brews are my favorite by far. I am an IPA lover and these are delicious. The open layout and all the patio space makes this a perfect summer spot. The back room is great for parties and events.

  • Brooke B.

Love the atmosphere and decor! The garage doors and all of the windows give a nice open bright environment inside. Bartenders were efficient and friendly. Their farmhouse ale, wilderman was very flavorful, caramel colored and tasty.

I really like the vibe of this place. I've been here at least 5 times and still remain enchanted. Upon entering, you immediately sense there's a misfit quality to the joint. For men, it holds the promise that personal transformation can begin by growing a beard akin to a long dead confederate general, donning flannel and wearing thick-framed glasses - all topped by a wool beanie designed for indoor use. In fact, on this winter night, nearly half of the male patrons under 35 fit this exact profile. And the women they attract have sworn off make-up entirely in exchange for zippered hoodies, over-sized eyewear and the most unflattering stocking caps that they could unearth in the thrift store. A concrete L-shaped bar, sturdy benches and three large fully windowed garage doors give the place an incredibly open, albeit industrial feel. Wood fires burn outside as night falls, inviting patrons to smoke, drink and share stories as the pungent woodsmoke mixes with the exhaust fan of the food truck to create an unapologetic assault on the senses. I suspect that this staged outdoor experience is designed to make you feel like you've actually done something more with your day than dump $30 drinking beer on a Sunday night. Five bucks will get you damn near anything at the bar - and they have a daily rotation of food trucks to keep things interesting. Everything behind the bar has a locally-sourced, farm-to-glass, eco-friendly, fair-trade and sustainable funk to it. The beer selection offers 5 to 8 excellent and diverse choices for the most discriminating craft-beer palate. I really do like the place - and have deliberately kept it a secret from dickheads who could alter the alchemy.

So much fun, great staff, great beer & they park a food truck outside & keep a fire pit going! They think of everything. We'll be back!

I can't believe I lived here for 4 years and never heard of this place until I left. Upon a weekend visit, I came here based on a recommendation of a friend. While this is a brewery and I'm not typically a beer person, the vibe is not the typical sports bar or fratty vibe that you get with most beer places. The atmosphere is way chill and inviting. It's the perfect place for a warm summer evening with the open garage doors and the abundant patio settings. Even on a Saturday night, it didn't feel overcrowded. Best of all is that it has a circulating schedule of food trucks that sits right next to it. This place has climbed on to my top 3 bars in Columbus. What's preventing me from rating it as a 5 stars is the lack of live music. I think that could really up their game and they certainly have the space for it.

  • Scott B.

My second visit to Seventh Son and I am a huge fan. It was a great fall evening, the garage doors were open, the beer was fantastic, and, at sunset, they started up the fire pit. Only complaint was the fire was too smokey.

  • Zack R.

I'm not sure how I've not reviewed Seventh Son yet. I've been coming here since they opened last year. Maybe it was because for the first few months their beer wasn't ready. Maybe it was because when their beer finally was ready, I wasn't a huge fan. They seemed to be following the trend that every beer needs to taste like you're sucking on a hops plant. That didn't bode well for this place. But then something magical happened. Sometime this past spring, they really seemed to figure it out. They hit their strides with some more caramely brews, beers with darker notes, and more complex flavors. While they do have some of the hoppiest, bitterest beers in the city, they also have some of the best in every range. The service is always awesome, and the atmosphere is always great.

Want some good beer, bro? Want some bomb IPAs, bro? Bro, how about some food truck food conveniently stationed outside, bro? This is a fabulous brewery with an equally fabulous space they've carved out for themselves. I like that they use a fire pit out on their patio. Extra points for the cute kitties inside.

Seventh Son is, short of Rockmill Brewery (which I guess doesn't technically count because it's in Lancaster/Lithopolis), my favorite Columbus brewery. The venue itself is great. Two separate biergarten-style patios with plenty of tables, a spacious bar, and a large back room that's available for private parties. Even on weekend nights when they're at their busiest, I've never felt overcrowded. I've been enough times to have had most of their beers, and I can't remember a single one that I actively disliked. There are brews I probably wouldn't get again simply because I usually prefer something dark and/or hoppy, but that's not to say they were bad beers at all. Their namesake strong ale is generally a good choice, and I've also particularly liked their Willowolf double IPA and their Humulus Nimbus pale ale. The service is the only thing that would be a minor complaint. Most of the bartenders are attentive, kind, and efficient, and perhaps you'll inevitably have a few less-than-perfect interactions if you go anywhere enough times, but I've had a few experiences where--and I don't say this lightly--I suspected a bartender to be either stoned or on coke. Having worked in the service industry myself for several years, I can't say that's an uncommon state of affairs though.

Continuing my adventures I'm Columbus I searched local breweries and found this one. To my unexpected surprise had one of the best nights. Great beer (American Strong Ale), great bartenders, and met an unexpected exceptional local patron named Greg who owns Used Kids Records. We talked for hours.....even stood out in the parking lot loooong after the brewery closed. Talked Ramones, ice hockey, and beer. Couldn't have been a better night. If u want good beer, good atmosphere, and good hockey/record shop talk (if u are lucky enough to run into Greg)...check this place out!!!

Love this place! Neat little neighborhood. Really cool, fun, hip vibe. They turned an old auto body garage into a brewery. Especially fun when it's warm out, and they open up the garage doors, which opens the bar out onto the patio. And best of all, their beer is fantastic! I don't think I've tried one that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. It's a must try in Columbus, as far as I'm concerned.

Seventh Son has quickly become the favorite place for get-togethers. With the perfect location, lots of space, and great drinks, you just can't go wrong. It's not in the heart of the short north, which means you can actually find parking. Sweet. They've got a patio in the front and back, both with plenty of long picnic-ish tables, so you can easily come with a large group and make it work. Though they don't serve food, there is most always a food truck out front, so you've got some grub. The beer is great and their selection of brews is well-rounded; there is something for the hops-lovers as well as malty or yeasty tastes. A decent amount of liquors, with all of the locals represented, and they can make a good cocktail!

  • Phil S.

This is hands down the best locally brewed beer in Columbus. The best part about the bar is the ample seating combined with the open air atmosphere provided by the garage doors being open in be warmer months. Try the golden ratio IPA if they have it on tap. This one of the best IPAs I have ever had.

How did I not go to Seventh Son until this year? Picture this, laughter and story-telling around rustic candle-lit benches abutting a bar that is as unpretentious as it gets hosting 4-5 beers and a carefully selected list of local spirits. As you sit and congregate snow can be seen falling through the fog edged glass on the industrial garage doors that once housed an auto-body shop. A fire pit outside beckons to you as a gang of hipsters smoke their American Spirits and cloves. Now isn't that ideal? I know, I liked it to. The place where all of this comes true is Seventh Son. The sister brewery to the ever-packed Bodega Cafe in Short North, Seventh Son has distinguished itself by being an awesome brewery, food truck haven and a cool event venue. While the summer vibe of the place is amazing, with the fire pit, food trucks, and outdoor seating, there's something special about the ambiance of the place in winter. A feeling that there's no where else to go "after this", and that that's absolutely fine. Seventh Son is the kind of place I could spend all day at. Good vibes, cool people, an intimate setting, and a draft list that isn't a mile long- because it doesn't need to be. That's Seventh Son Brewing Co.

I love seventh son, it has great drinks, it's a craft brewery and it's right in the neighborhood! It's owned by local people who I already have an affection for because they own another of my favorite watering holes... Bodega. Yes, it's a winner folks, great vibe here. Big patio, great food trucks, fire inside and out. I love it!

This is one of my go-to beer drinking spots, especially in nice weather. It's easy to get a table outside for a big group. There's no food, other than a food truck outside, which can be hit or miss, depending on whether you like it. My only real complaint is there's no happy hour, so you're stuck paying full-price for a beer no matter the time.

I have fallen in love!!!! Not with a man sadly enough, but this definitely will fulfill me when I have a case of the lonelies. This eclectic brewery is a MUST see, stop, and hang in the newly revitalized Italian District (Short North Out Skirts). The environment/crowd on the weekends is a mixture of agnostic, trendy, eco friendly, grass roots, pierced up, tatted Where's Waldo, some what dirty looking guys and gals, and of course dashes-sprinkles of LGBT through out. My type of crowd! The bar itself is a de-converted auto-mechanic shop(cool right?) With a glass garage doors that open from the bar on to a full patio with a room for food trucks in the front. Also you can see the brewery equipment from the bar and patio which is need. The bar is actually pretty larger than you would believe as there is a back patio and dining. They do have about five-six craft bars that are made in house. I had the Hibiscus and it was FANTASTIC! I am not a huge beer drinker and for the girl or guy that want's to score points in front of your more gut pounding, belching friends I would recommend as it is only $5. Prices are really reasonable and again a great chill place to meet friends or even meet an OKCupid/Match.com date. Now if you are looking for color diversity be aware that the colors are NOT that varying for race, again that's the way of Columbus. If you are ok being a token Black,Asian, Hispanic, Middle Eastern then drink and be merry as I always am. Again I have fallen in love, but I am hoping that the next time I visit this haven for the misfit toys that one of the dirty Where's Waldo looking guys will at least engage a sistah in some sexy flirtations over libations!!!!

A great place to chill and catch up with friends, even a large group if you time it right. We brought a group of ~12 here on a Friday evening around 7:00 and had no problems grabbing a table. The space is open and airy, with plenty of seating out back. I love that they saved the old roll-up doors from the previously existing garage and that these doors can be rolled up to connect the bar to the outside. Decor is pretty simple--a friend characterized the benches out front as very reminiscent of the bier gardens he had experienced in Germany. The beer selection is pretty small, with 5-7 beers to choose from (a few of Seventh Son's house-made pours and a few others). Someone commented that they thought that perhaps Seventh Son started their brew process about 6 months off from when they were ready to serve their beers, but I'm sure this is something they'll work through over time (although it seemed odd that they didn't have a wheat beer). I did like that you could see all of the beer-making equipment off to one side of the pub. Food selection consists of whatever food truck is parked outside that day. With only one truck, I would guess that there could be a bit of a wait if the place was pretty crowded. Ladies, the bathroom seemed pretty clean (I think I'm going to start including that in my reviews from now on). Other reviewers are right--I think parking is pretty limited. However you can probably find a spot along the street in the surrounding neighborhood. But, be careful--I think there are some places around there that might make you nervous walking back to your car alone at the end of the night. For anyone looking to grab a beer with friends in the Short North area, this is a more mature, relaxed alternative to the drama-filled, hyper-sexed Park St. scene.

I'm not a beer kinda gal so I'm not supposed to like the place, but I do. My friend had her birthday here, so I came here with the group and I really dig the vibe. I love the style of the place, and how they have fire pits in front, and I ordered the only cocktail on the menu (log cabin) which turned out to be pretty delicious although I wish that there were more options. They also have a food truck dude outside, which I was salivating over but resisted from ordering that night. Would return.

I continually find myself asking how in the world someone could take an old garage and turn it into the coziest little brewery I've ever seen. Then I find myself wishing it was all mine. While not ideal in the winter months, they still manage to hold their own. Couches, wooden booths and candlelight make the inside so intimate and inviting. And it always smells like cinnamon. Mmm. I could honestly doze off right now just thinking about it, with their delicious Glad Tidings winter ale in hand. However, the place is still lively enough with great music, huge garage doors-turned-windows and friendly staff and patrons alike. There is even a bonfire out front, and the back patio features ample space with lovely hanging lights. Seriously, so industrially-cozy. I didn't even know that was a thing. My favorite part may actually be the support they give to local food trucks. Instead of having their own kitchen, you will always find good eats right outside. ( seventhsonbrewing.com/fo… ) And be sure to stop by one of their seasonal flea markets - always a fun experience!

Full disclosure: I just moved to Columbus from Austin, TX, which is pretty much the hipster Capitol of the universe right now. Seventh Son blew me away! It's the sort of place that would fit right in back in Austin! Fantastic ambiance, great bartenders, great food trucks, and oh yeah -- the beer is really, really freaking good. Be still my Humulus Nimbus-lovin' heart! Fantaaaastic spot that's definitely worth writing home about!

Visited SSB last night on a whim. Was not disappointed. There are no frills about SSB, nuffin' fancy. Just bring a friend or two or three and enjoy some local, Ohio beer (A food truck is typically parked in front of the bar for some obligatory munchies). Interestingly, SSB was originally converted from old autobody shop; so naturally, during the summer, the garage doors are all open and invite either the lovely summer breeze, or the all-too familiar Columbus sweltering humidity. I do believe SSB is owned by the same owners as Bodega and I therefore revere SSB as a mecca for craft beer aficionados. At the very least, there is some crossover between the two bars. The bartenders flipflop between the two bars and are as beer-knowledgeable as they come. Pick their brains, inquire what their current favorites are. SSB brews its own beer, but also sells Jackie o's Columbus, Rivertown, Lost Sparrow, and other Ohio brews. Like North High Brewing Company, it also showcases its beer brewing operations in an adjacent room. I am excited to see SSB, along with other scattered bars on fourth street, enliven the Italian Village-Weinland Park nexus with Columbus bar pride.

I said I would update my review with a possible 5th star when I could taste their beers. Well, I've had many (too) and they are all wonderful. This is a great example of a casual version of how the microbrew scene blew up in Columbus.

As much as I love my hometown of Columbus, Seventh Son made me feel blissfuly on vacation. The space is renovated-cool, perhaps a former service station that now boasts a tasting room where the garage doors can be lifted to bring the outdoors inside. I know Seventh Son's been open for awhile, but why haven't I been hearing more buzz? I know the in-house brews were a little delayed, so maybe it wasn't gaining traction as a brewery. Or, maybe in the winter it just felt like another bar. Well, I'm here to tell you that if you haven't been when the weather is warm and the house brews are on tap, then you really haven't been to Seventh Son. With all these craft brew/breweries opening all over the city, Seventh Son's space sets it apart. It's not close to the hubbub of High Street, but not too far, either. There's parking, and great crowd flow. Also, a woman's touch is evident-- the space was dotted with flower arrangements, art, and other things lacking in the similar, yet far more brotastic, joints. Also, it seems like busy nights include a food truck parked in the lot, so you can get your nibble on. The house brews were tasty but a teeny bit flat for my tast. Full bodied and great flavors, though. I'm impressed. Make Seventh Son your staycation destination! (Or, bring your out of town friends so they can see how cool Columbus is.)

Seventh Son is one of those places that could absolutely define your summer. Lots of patio space, the open garage doors in the front, and just an overall relaxed vibe. As for the beer; it's solid. The American Strong Ale is refreshing and fun. Again, a Summer must. Seventh Son provides further proof Columbus is able to do beer well. I'm a fan of the picnic table setup but it is frustrating when you have a couple of people taking up an entire giant table. Come on now, you know that bench is for sharing! I can't wait to spend more lazy Saturday's hanging out here.

First off, the building itself and atmosphere is 5 star to be sure. There's a big patio, which will be jam packed on warm summer evenings. Last night, it was about 70 degrees, and it was pretty crowded with nary a picnic table open. They could probably bring another table or two out there to maximize the use of space. They had a fire going, which is cool, but sometimes the smoke would be blowing in patron's faces. Also, much of the front room is open to the outside as well, so I really liked the building itself. A few negatives: there isn't a lot of parking. I had to park over on 3rd St as both the lot and 4th Ave were filled. Inside, it definitely took a while to get a drink. As for the beer itself, I didn't think any of the 7th Son beers were worth writing home about. I tried the Stout, the American Strong, and the Oat Brown, and I'm not sure exactly jonesing to have any of them again. This is definitely a cool place to hang out, and I would be interested in going again despite the negatives. I especially want to see what the place is like for a happy hour or on a July or August evening.

Another addition to the craft beer scene in Columbus, the guys at Seventh Son have a claim to fame thanks to their location in a repurposed auto shop at the corner of Fourth Street and Fifth Avenue. Using a simple, somewhat bare bones approach inside, the work goes into the beer, and it shows. A pint of their namesake brown ale is delicious and refreshing, with some great summery flavor. The patio is small, but perfect for relaxing on a Sunday afternoon, and the addition of regular food truck service almost every night is a great excuse to get some good eats and enjoy a pint or two.

If you like farmhouse ales, their Wilderman Ale is one of the best around. Really, all the beers are great. Good service. Comfortable, laid back crowd and atmosphere. Look forward to going back.

Stop #3 on #CbusBrewTour. It's such a cool spot. I know it's... clichey? Hipstery? To talk about decor, but I loved the vibe of the place - open, big tables, nice patio, open viewing to their brewery... We had good company, and a haggle (pack? flock?) of bicyclists appeared out of the blue and took over the bar. Yet there was *still* room for us! We had our flights, they had a couple other brews (with one friend ordering a brew from Jackie O's, another great Ohio brewery). Not the best brews of the night - but very worthy!

I went here the first weekend of serving house made beer. Very cool destination brewery in an area that I would normally never go. The bar area was bright and open and clean feeling on the day we went. We wandered around the public room and the patio and they both looked very nice as well. I smelled a faint aroma of burning wood coming from outside. Nice. There was a food truck parked outside for bites and a few kids roaming around like they owned the place. I felt comfortable here. Also for the ladies, there are purse hooks under the bar. I am told that this is a big deal. As for the beer? A solid good. Pretty good even. The flagship american strong ale was my favorite with a rich color and strong flavor. Their pale ale wa crisp and clean and I liked it as well. A distant third was the oat brown ale. It was kind of wimpy and mehhh, but might appeal to folks who like lighter tastes.

Seems like we wind up spending a large number of our Thursday evenings at Seventh Son if even only for a few hours. The atmosphere is pleasant. The food trucks out front are delicious. The drinks are plentiful. The company lively. It can get exceedingly crowded when special events are taking place, but on slower evenings it really is a nice hang out or a casual social drink.

Being from out of town on vacation I was eager to sample some of the local breweries. IMO Seventh Son didn't deliver at all. Their flagship beer "AMERICAN STRONG ALE" was ok at best. Thin mouth feel and the hops were indistinguishable. Galloway Tale was a stout? Again thin with none of the characteristics of a stout. Such as "Coffee-like roasted barley and roasted malt aromas are prominent; may have slight chocolate, cocoa and/or grainy secondary notes." I was done at this point. Two bad beers in a row. Maybe I just didn't choose wisely.

My friend Anthony and I walked in here on the worst bar night ever in Columbus. Everywhere we went was packed. We were trying to find somewhere without a huge crowd where we could sit and talk comfortably. Seventh Son was not the place. It too was packed. Not a single bar stool, nor a seat at a table, unless we wanted to sit with total strangers. I think the idea is that you might actually sit with total strangers, and on the right occasion we may well have, but not tonight. I was spotted by a few acquaintances at the bar, so we chatted with them for a bit. We talked about the place, and as it turns out, my acquaintance's husband is a co-owner. None of the biz's own brews were ready yet, so they were only offering guest brews for the time being. They've done good things with the space, which I'm fairly certain is a converted auto garage. The concrete floors are cool and sleek, as are the bar top and furnishings. I am pretty fond of the gigantic mass of windows that make up the storefront, although sometimes when I'm getting my drink on, I like a little privacy. The patio, you can tell just by looking at it, is going to be a huge hit in warmer months. It's massive, and boasts more sleek styling. If they're smart enough to get some of those warmer thingies, this patio could keep them uber busy all winter. One final tidbit. I've been hearing for years that the people behind Bodega were opening a brewery in Italian Village. I heard, but cannot confirm [A friend in the beer biz confirmed for me after reading this], that this might be the place. Speaking of it being in Italian Village, it's only a block or so from St. James Tavern. This could be the James's undoing, which would be a shame.

I want so badly to give this place more stars, but it just doesn't make the cut for me. I went here once with a few friends over the summer. It is pretty roomy on the inside, with the huge garage style doors leading out onto the front patio. They also have a back patio. Yes, my friends. You read that right: two patios. TWO. In the summer, these are godsends. This accounts for at least 1 1/2- 2 stars. I am not a huge beer person, but ended up here because all my friends were doing it and I am easily swayed by peer pressure. I had a gin and tonic, which was somehow terrible. I'm not sure what gin they were using, or if their tonic water was just off, but it was honestly one of the worst G & T's I have ever had. Thrown off by that, I ordered 2 glasses of wine, which were pretty good. Not worth the price however. For a (well) gin and tonic and 2 measly (literally, the smallest pours I have ever seen) glasses of wine I ended up paying 25 bucks with tip. I can go to half the other bars in the city and spend half that on gin and tonics that don't taste like they're off. All of my friends enjoyed their beers and said they were delicious, so I am just going to go ahead and say Seventh Son is a beer bar and not much else. Yeah I get it, it even says Brewing Co. in the name, but not everyone drinks beer. For those who don't they should have decent other drinks for those people to enjoy. Overall, the patios are awesome, the service was pretty good from what I remember, and they have good beer and wine. I wouldn't head here if you are on a budget or trying to get a cocktail though.

Super cool new brewery and bar. My wife and I tried all five of their beers, which are brewed on-site. All of them were quite good. They didn't really take any risks or anything, as they're all fairly common styles, but they're all quite nicely done. The atmosphere of the bar is pretty great. There is a very light and airy feel with the front wall being primarily composed of garage doors. A nice place to day drink and soak in some sun, even while inside. There is a very large, very nice patio outside. One touch I liked was an actual DJ spinning records. Definitely more interesting than the bartender's iPod or Pandora, and he played a nice range of music, including some very good deep tracks. Definitely worth heading to 4th and 4th. This area seems like it's about to get very cool, and Seventh Son will be right in the middle of a great scene soon.

Wonderful beer, great crowd, and an ever changing menu. This place is not only very easy to find and get to but has lots of parking. The seating is great with many options from outdoor, an indoor area with large garage type doors that open, and a place that is a completely closed indoor area. The beer is great and ever changing. Since it is a small batch brewery don't expect the menu to be the same. A few favorites are usually on the menu all time but many change with the seasons. Also there is always food available however the brewery itself does not have a kitchen. They have a rotating schedule of food trucks that add to the experience of this place, you can get everything from taco's one day Americana the next and Indonesian the following. I highly recommend this place to any beer snob, and casual drinker alike.

I had a blast at my first visit to Seventh Son. This new craft brewery is part of the Summit & 4th renaissance currently occurring east of High Street, from the Short North up to east campus, as the neighborhoods are redeveloped and businesses move in. This one is housed in what looks like an old auto repair shop, with the old auto bay doors still in place. The interior has been left fairly rough, with a bar and a lot of hangin'-out space including both a rear and front patio. It was a gorgeous night, and the bar was doing a brisk business in the home brews and cocktails made with Watershed Distillery spirits and served in house-branded mason jars. No food menu, but a food truck was parked outside to provide grub (it was That Food Truck the night I visited, but I'm told that other trucks rotate through). It was a chill, laid-back atmosphere, and a great spot for socializing in groups.

My significant other really liked the beer here. They did not have much for the gluten free crowd (no cider, pricey "meh" wine). The outside area was really nice, even in November (fire, food truck, seating, etc.) and was inviting, even as a non-smoker. The crowd was friendly and happy, I enjoyed my visit.

This is one of the top microbreweries in town. This place will start to give Columbus Brewing Company a run for its money. Great seasonal beers with a solid year around line-up. The venue is nice as well.

Bring on the breweries, I say!! There's been quite a few popping up lately - and I say bring it on! Columbus can't have too many, and I hope to see many, many more. Seventh Son's space is just as good as their brews. I've been in a handful of times already (mainly for special events, which they seem to do a lot of) and each time there's always been a new house beer featured. My current favorite is the Himmulus Nimbulus (or something like that.) I couldn't pronounce it then - so it's no surprise I can't spell it now. Normally there's at least 5 of their house beers on tap (I highly recommend getting a flight if it's your first visit) and there are a couple other options in bottles, as well as a full bar, too, if it's not a beer night for you... why are you at a brewery then?? I digress... The space is raw, industrial, slightly masculine, and all kinds of cool. They brew on site and installed a big window during remodel near the bar so you can peek in on the process. A great investment if you ask me. My favorite part would have to be the patio(s) - there are two awesome, wide open patios with picnic tables - and that they have the ability to open up the two huge garage doors in front of the bar. The building used to be an auto garage in its past life, so it's pretty fitting they kept the doors. And it totally suits them. They normally have a food truck parked out front for noshing if you feel the urge, so check who's on deck beforehand if you're curious. I'm stoked to see how they develop since they're still considered pretty new. But, if there's one thing you can count on, it's that you can count on me being a huge supporter! (And a beer taste-tester annnnnytime ...) :)

I went to Seventh Son with some friends and had the dreaded job of DD. Every one really liked their beer selection and had a great time! I liked it because it is one of those rare bars that gives DD's free soda, and even free Shirley Temples! It was very busy on the weekend so you will have to wait for your drink but they move as quickly as possible, and will get to you. I love the garage doors that really open the place up and work great for spring, summer and fall! They have a patio you can also sit on. WATCH OUT FOR THE GIANT POTHOLE in the parking lot- it'll kill you if you don't see it- its a weird tip but if you hit it you'll regret it!

Had to update my review after the great experience I had today. I got a Seventh Son sweatshirt for Christmas and after throwing it in the wash before wearing, it got two holes in the sleeve. I made the trip downtown to see if they'd let me exchange it and not only did they replace it, but they refunded me half the price for the hassle. I'm now a customer for life (not that I wouldn't have been one before) and this just shows how awesome this place is!

I went there for the first time last night. It wasn't busy for a Saturday night. Maybe it's just never busy. I could see that by the lack of enthusiasm by the bartenders. I sat right at the bar & the bartenders didn't even acknowledge me for almost 5 minutes. I understand if they were busy & were taking care of the customers before me but they weren't. The one bartender could barely walk but had no trouble wobbling right by me 6 times without even saying hi or I'll be right with you as soon as I'm done pouring myself a beer. Instead they were talking about how they were going to get out early & made me feel like I was an inconvenience. By far the worst hospitality I experienced in a while. Extremely mild selection of beverages. Maybe that's why the bartender brought himself in some cans of mad tree... I don't see myself ever going back unless it's to get food from the truck sitting in the lot. It's a shame too because my girlfriend lives right beside it. Well done, crappy bartenders

Seventh sun is a place to kick it. Plan and simple. We went there last Friday night and it really wasn't that packed. The vibe there is extremely chill. Their drinking areas are nice, they have a large open side room, the main room where the bar is it really nice as well, real rustic looking with dim lights. My favorite part of the bar however is the seating outside. It was really nice late at night. The Beers are pretty good, I didn't find anything that was incredible, well at least not yet, but there beer is still pretty good, they are a brewery so I'm sure I just haven't found my beer there yet. I would defiantly go there again.

Can't believe that I've waited this long to check out this neighborhood brewery. Great environment and lots of space. The building consists of several rooms all featuring bench-style seating. Excellent patio. Noise level can get a little loud, but completely tolerable. My favorite beer is the Humulus Nimbus, which is super refreshing.

This place is neat! As a suburbanite with young kids who works in the 'burbs, I don't get downtown nearly enough for my own satisfaction or to get really familiar with the local neighborhoods. As such, I am accustomed to turning south off of 670 to downtown, Short North, etc. versus north to the Italian Village area. The neighborhood is up & coming, clearly gentrifying but not all the way done yet, and 7th Son will no doubt help in the cause. The evening we visited, it was my wife and I stopping by before a dinner reservation elsewhere. There is a bar that merges indoors with an outdoor patio via several large garage doors. The crowd is eclectic hipster cool, but certainly welcoming of us long-in-the-tooth suburban professionals as well. I am more than a little interested in beer (to drink, to make, to talk about, and in a previous life - to sell) and this is clearly a place that caters to that interest. Several very good house-made beers on tap along with some thoughtful guest-tap selections. Bar tender was pleasant. Made some new friends at the bar. No real food options here - there was a food truck parked out front on the Saturday night we were there; no idea if this is a permanent fixture. Beer was good, scene was cool. Good people watching as well; in particular my wife and the new lady-friend she met at the bar enjoyed watching two emo-ish youngsters making out on one of the outdoor benches...gave us all something to comment on when conversation hit a lull. I have friends coming into town today; may suggest this as a destination for us if it jives with our other plans.

My favorite local brewery. First-class beer, beautiful space and good rotation of food trucks outside. Super easy to get to: location is easy to remember (corner of 4th & 4th), there's tons of bike parking, it's a 5-10 minute walk from a CoGo station and it's easy to park a car nearby. They host neat events sometimes too. Been to a flea market and a fashion show here, both were quite fun.

Patio! (have I mentioned I love patios?) First time here..early stop on the #CbusBrewTour Stop #3 if I recall. I have had a few of their beers around town so it was nice to get a flight and try a few more. Very casual, laid back place that would be good for a large group. You can also see in the back where the beer is being brewed...I may have been drooling on the glass, sorry guys!

I really think the symbiotic relationship of food truck and microbrewery that Seventh Sons has is truly brilliant and unique. What an awesome idea to sponsor local trucks and share clientele! And since the trucks rotate you get to try a new cuisine on every visit! It's working for them so far this summer since they've opened their doors and it will be interesting to see how it goes when the Ohio winter strikes again in a few months. The beer flight is a good option to try on your first visit to scope out what brews tickle your fancy. My only issue is the acoustics. When the "garage door" windows are closed and its a full house it can be quite clausti and ear piercingly loud. Final thought, the crowd seems quite diverse. From hipsters to business happy hour, you'll fit right in!

Hidden Gem. The beer sampler allowed me to see what this place is all about. While I don't dig hoppy-tasting beers or grapefruit after taste, what they're doing here is pushing the edge of normal to the brink of the beyond. The Hibiscus beer was certainly my favorite and I will be returning just for another taste of summertime. The patio is great, as is the covered-yet-open-air seating in the "garage".

Went for the first time last night and can`t wait to go back! Love the variety of drinks (craft beer, wine you don`t typically see, cool mixed drinks), the decor and style of the place is so interesting but still a really chill atmosphere. The patios would be awesome in the summer but they still had a fire pit going which is perfect for fall nights!

  • D P.

The bar/seating/patios is one of the best set-ups in Columbus. The beer is decent - they usually have 3-5 of their own on tap as well as several "guest" brews. Full bar. For food: they rotate tasty food trucks on their front patio.

    (4)
  • Brittany S.

Lots of hipsters so be sure to wear your giant plastic glasses and your skinniest jeans if you want to blend in. They don't have many options on tap, just their own beers and three or four others. They have a few wines and liquors. There was a food truck which ran out of food around 9:30 (but then stayed parked on the premises for a couple hours which was weird) on a Friday so plan accordingly. The patio/picnic table area is nice. There is an old-fashioned fridge behind the bar that (I'm pretty sure) is basically a keg, which I think is pretty cool. I guess if you only want to drink Seventh Sons beer and you feel at home with the hipster crowd, you'd probably like this place.

I can't speak for the food. But I've tried the beer at several places and I have to say they make excellent beer. I hate 95% of all beers I taste because I'm picky. Their beers are much darker than their label suggests. I like the Humulus Nimbus and Wysss Witbier. These beers are now my favorite beers to drink. I'm only gripe is I don't know where to buy their beers locally around town. The web page just has names of places but no map, address, or what beer are carried.

Great place to try some craft brews in Cbus. They also have a rotating schedule of food trucks so the "menu" never gets boring. 4 stars because I would love to see some more comfortable seating in the bar area. Overall- love it!

American Strong is currently my favorite beer. That and the Golden Ratio are two of the best brews in the city. If you like ales and you haven't had this pleasure, you are missing out. Take my advice, Treat Yo'self!

Seventh Son is one of the best places to hang it and grab a beer with a friend or have a quick happy hour with coworkers. The constant did trucks makes everything a little more interesting as well. Check out the outdoor fire pit in the back during the winter months.

I am *so* excited about this new brewery. The place has plenty of big beautiful stainless steel brewing equipment that they are happy to show you, and the whole thing is a renovated old garage, which now gives it great big windows. On their soft opening they weren't selling any of their own beer, but they will be soon, and they had good selections from other breweries--the Jackie O was good and the Hoof Hearted was great--as well as a full bar starring local spirits. The ambiance is the thing, though. It's got that great talky-bar feel like my favorite spots in New York, with lots of different seating possibilities -- the great big bar, the tables in the windows out front, the room full of tables in the back, the patio out behind, or the cozy little couch and coffee table area. Though I didn't stay here too long, I managed to see some great folks and to overhear discussions about the development going on around Columbus. Really hope this kind of thing continues!

4 stars because this place hasn't reached its full potential yet. The space is great and I love how they invested the money into this area as it needs it. I love Bodega and the North Market Shop (The Barrel & Bottle), so whats not to love about this place, since its the same creative minds? Once the weather turns, this place will be primed for plenty of outdoor patio seating. One thing that caught my eye was Pimm's No. 1...dont see that everywhere, at least not that i've noticed. When I was there, they did not have their beers on tap yet, which are BOLD for intro beers for a start-up: A strong ale and a foreign export stout, i mean DAMN. I will be keeping my eye on this place and have high expectations as I want to see them succeed and become a successful local and hopefully regional multi-state and dare I say National sought after brewery.

These guys had a brilliant idea: to make their own tasty beer and outsource the food to food trucks! Highly recommended.

Seventh Son is great. They have a nice, all-Ohio tap list, cool bartenders (some you'll recognize from Bodega), fires going inside and outside, and a great food truck sitting outside (but you don't have to go out to order). It's a nice big space, not too loud, not at all boring. Though it's still getting going a little bit, it's a perfect bar. I was a little disappointed no Seventh Son beer was on tap yet, but I got by. To the other reviewer's worry that this place might take down St James - I think this is just a sign of the area building up. Italian Village can support two awesome bars.
