Like some of the other reviewers, I haven't tried too much of the Korean cuisine, but this seemed like a good time to start. I've had a lot of Japanese, Chinese, and Thai food, but Korean is new to me. First, the restaurant itself is quite beautiful and relaxing. Booths provide privacy, and the intimacy of preparing food on a table grill makes me think this would be a very good place to take a first date. Our waitress was very helpful and attentive. She explained everything to us, especially since I told her we hadn't experienced Korean cuisine in the past. We had Shabu-shabu, which is very much like beef/vegetable poaching we'd had at "The Melting Pot." Regardless of someone's willingness to try ethnic cuisine, this is a crowd pleaser. Who doesn't like beef in broth with vegetables? The side dishes (of which there were eight) were more challenging (and interesting). I like the variety of options. There was a little potato dish that was particularly delicious. Two significant things: The bathrooms are immaculate and thoughtfully decorated, and the owner asked us about our meal as we were leaving. These two qualities seem, at least to me, very indicative of a restaurant's success. I really recommend this place for people who want to try something new, and are easily intimidated by "different food." You'll feel comfortable here.

Whatever they are paying for rent at this place is gotta be too much because this must be the cheapest restaurant I've ever been to. My girl friend and I both ordered the same dish except that hers was a vegetarian version. When the food arrived, unfortunately, both of our dishes were the vegetarian version. I explained to the server the situation, i.e., the order was not prepared as I expected it. There was no raw egg and no beef in my bibim bab. The server then proceeds to argue with me that indeed the egg is supposed to be completely cooked and that the beef was hidden somewhere in the dish. After proving him wrong, he actually brings me a raw egg and a very small portion of beef to place in the dish. The problem is that at this point the dish was not hot enough to cook the egg so I couldn't use it. I was expecting him to just fix my order and come back with a new one but that didn't seem like it was in the cards. By the time the waitress had come around (which was a scarcity in itself) to check on us, I was already half way through my meal. She had also forgotten to bring us salads that we had ordered earlier. Upon learning that my order was not prepared correctly, she summoned the manager to come chat us up. By that time, I was just about finished with my meal. He against offered to fix it, but at this point I just wanted to finish the meal and leave. I thanked him and kindly turned down the offer. He then proceeded to remain at out table and talk about all the Korean side dishes, which was fine but just kind of awkward. Before leaving, he asked me what I was going to do with the raw egg I had received and not used. In fact, it was sitting on the table the whole time. After I told him I had no intentions of using the egg, he took it back to the kitchen, presumably to be used in other meals! In summary, the food was okay at this place but the service was lousy and unprofessional. You shouldn't argue with a customer and should replace a meal that hasn't been prepared correctly, especially if it's the standard preparation. At the very least, a discount of some kind would have helped, but even that was not offered. Lastly, don't take food back that you offered your guest back to the kitchen to be reused for other guests. This is just common sense stuff.

I love this place, but I have to admit the quality of San-su has gone down. The quality of the food is not consistent. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. However I will still suggest this place compare to other Korean restaurant in Columbus.

The food an atmosphere was good. The bazillion little dishes of condiments was fun. The wait staff? Absolutely amazing! The greeter, our waiter, the guy who switched out our grills and spoke no English - all so welcoming and fun. I was seriously impressed.

Delicious BBQ that resembles my time in Seoul. A nice variety of Korean dishes expected at a stellar establishment anchored by an assortment of meats cooked at our table by the staff. While the sign outside has the Chinese characters of "Mountain" and "Water", this is clearly a Korean restaurant with top quality food coupled with diligent customer service prevalent to the Asian culture.

The kimchi is among the best I've tasted. The decor and atmosphere produce a cozy-feel to a meal that is cooked at your table (the meat that is).

We visited this close-by restaurant after reading a favorable review in The Other Paper. We watched the conversion of this building for what seemed like a year and were put off by the lack of windows. However, the interior is a delightful, warm and very modern. While having an Asian theme it will in no way remind you of a strip mall Chinese restaurant. At the center of each table was a high-tech grill, used for all of the barbeque dishes. A little surprisingly the Pinot by the glass was very good. We shared a tempura roll and Belogi (marinated beef) BBQ. Both were excellent. The entree came with numerous side dishes including kimchi The meat course was served with lettuce, used to hold rice, the meat, kimchi and a very good sauce. The host greeted us at the door, showed us our table, and checked back to make sure we were enjoying ourselves, which indeed we were. The waitress prepared the barbeque at the table, and explained all of the dishes, and how to assemble and prepare the "lettuce sandwich." We shared a single "starter" and entree, which was almost but not quite enought to eat. Next time we will add a couple or more "rollss" and stick with the single entree. The watiress was outgoing, friendly, and took great pride in her Korean heritage (and like everyone else we we encountered spoke perfect English). This scores 5 stars on food, atmosphere and service.

I've been hear for actual dinner, but what I really prefer is to come for the lunch buffet, since you can get more food for cheaper. The buffet sometimes feels like there's not many options, but I think that's because I often come late when they stop refilling as much. But nonetheless there are lots of things you can try, from tempura to dumplings to various stir-fry dishes. And they have a full bibimbap "salad bar." I like it all quite a lot. They also have a fantastic sweet tea.

All you can eat Korean BBQ is hard to find so when I heard that San Su had that deal I was excited. The dishes are served buffet style and you can cook the meats at your own table. The kalbi and bulgogi were my favorite. I also liked the spicy chicken. Wasn't the biggest fan of the shrimp or calamari but maybe I didn't cook them too well. The other veggies to be grilled seemed to be fresh also. There is fresh rice available also and jap chae which was good! Personally I would stay away from the "sushi" left on the buffet, it was kinda warm. Overall a decent experience. The price of $25 is a little high, I would have been more satisfied for a price closer to $18-20.

My fiancée and I enjoyed the lunch buffet here. There were some very good flavors, particularly the Peanut sauced mung bean noodles with green onions. Served at room temperature they had a really great consistency. Also, their Kimchi was really well flavored. But as with any buffet there were some items that were a little soggy form sitting in sauce or weren't that warm. The service was good and the price was very fair for a lunch buffet. Be sure to drink plenty of water as you will consume a lot of salt eating here. This review is to be continued... I feel like San-su has serious potential for Korean BBQ, some folks were grilling meat at their table. Will have to go back here for dinner to complete the review.

So sad to have just missed the lunch buffet but after doing a 26 mile bike ride, my friend and were famished and wanted to load up on some protein - so this was a great find on Yelp! Decently priced Korean BBQ meal of kalbi and bulgogi with all the fixings: rice, different kinds of vegetables. We were happy and full at the end.

This is in competition with one of worse buffet options I have seen. The variety to choose from is extremely low, and what they charge for it is a absolute joke. I will not going here anytime soon and to tell people to visit here would be a disservice to them.

  • Min K.

I'm going to give it 3 stars because of the great service and selection of all the meats. The side dishes were just okay. I would've liked the meat to be better seasoned. However, it was a fun dinner time.

  • Mike B.

Personally thought it was a bit overpriced at ~$40/person with drinks. The food was decent (not stellar), we all got the dinner buffet. The service was friendly and for the most part quick. A good thing to try once, but I'm wondering if there's better KBBQ offerings in Columbus now.

Went for the buffet. It was at most mediocre. There's ribs, bulgogi, spicy and non spicy chicken, shrimp, squid and veggies. There was also some warm dishes that's been sitting there for quite a while, and are not worth mentioning at all. We arrived around 5:30 and there wasn't many people. I highly suspected that the ribs were not fresh at all, as the color wasn't appealing and the fat tasted weird. The pork belly was really thin. The bulgogi for the buffet was not only thin but was also in small pieces. Will not come back for the buffet. The a la carte grill items looked better though. But everything is a bit overpriced. If you really want to try the buffet, get it when it's busy so the meat will probably be a bit more fresh.

Initially questioned why I would ever go to a restaurant and cook my own food. That was dumb of me -- because this place is TIGHT. My buddies from work are still talking about it. We made the excursion through a friend who lived in Korea for years and knew just how to order for the table. Once we got comfortable, we kept asking for more. The food was DELICIOUS. Must try bulgogi, probably the chicken too; order it all...that's what we did. It was such a fine dining experience - make sure you're in great company, 'cause you'll be passing around plates like the first Thanksgiving. My only potential fear is that for someone who's never had Korean barbecue, that without a tour guide they would have no idea what to order. So happy that a professional was there to basically order for the table, but now you know; everything is shareable so order veggies, order Soju and Makgoelli for drinks, and get all the meats.

The bad; -Sullungtang- VERY bland. It was my friend's first time trying the soup and it was not a good experience for her. The salt for seasoning just turned it into salt water soup. -Portions are small compared to price. The good; -Service- The waitress was extremely friendly & warm. The guy who brought out the meat on the other hand....was lacking, but he did his best to cover up his mistakes so I'll give him that. -Banchan- A large array of banchan that was all very tasty! My friend who ordered the bad sullungtang said the banchan made up for it! -Quality- Despite the small portions, the meat quality was great and very tasty. Beef tongue was very fresh & the perfect "chew" to it, while the galbi was extremely tender. Not too overly marinated either. Sometimes I really don't know if it's the deprivation of Korean food that makes anything taste good- but regardless, San-Su makes do.

For some reason I always leave San-Su feeling "meh". The restaurant wasn't busy when my friend and I went for dinner (actually, I've never seen San-Su over-the-brim with customers), but we felt like our waitress was really pushing us to order quickly. As for the food, I ordered the Sul Lung Tang (stew with ox bones and brisket). It was... well it was horrible. I feel like I paid $10.95 for under-seasoned water. There was absolutely no beef flavor in the stew, and what little slivers of meat floated in the soup was definitely not brisket. On the plus side, the banchan (Korean side dishes) were good!

After three visits to their lunch and dinner buffet without trying their food off the dinning menu, this review is meant exclusively for the buffet items at San-su. The first visit I went for their lunch buffet which contained quite a big variety of Bachan, yummy Japchae, stir-fries like beef and chicken, as well as noodles served cold. Lunch buffet was not that impressive considering its price (less than $12), but for a girl who can be largely satisfied with simple carbs and kimchee, I was happy with what I got. Especially their Japchae, so flavorful when served freshly out of the wok! I went twice for the dinner BBQ buffet, one with my non-Korean friends and one with a Korean friend. Strongly recommend you bring your Korean friend with you to San-su, because they can do the ordering for you in Korean, and somehow the owner's attitude becomes better if you have Korean companion. My Korean friend even ordered some traditional Korean BBQ items (raw garlic and jalapeno slices) off the menu! Not bad huh? My Korean friend said the BBQ was close to authentic Korean BBQ except that the greens they use is different, we had every meat item except marinated pork. We particularly liked thin-sliced pork belly and kalbi (beef short rib). If you like pork with fat and skin on, you will most likely like a few slices wrapped in fresh greens with grilled kimchee! The Kalbi was well marinated, juicy, tender with a moderate amount of sweetness, so addictively good! Do bring a Korean friend when trying out Korean restaurants, they not only are your interpreter but also provide cultural exchange about food, dinning etiquette, etc.! Try their Japchae, BBQ pork belly, and Kalbi!

This is my favorite Korean place. The bibimbap sauce is so good. The chicken is amazing. Stop by the buffet and try their different choices of beef, pork, and chicken. They also have sushi and two types of soups.

First visit. We ordered from the menu, meat was fresh and tasty. We had San (set for two), beef tongue, bulgogi, and kalbi - they were all good. Shrimp was a good addition to meat, but we would probably just stick with the meat next time ;) Service was good. Friendly staff. They also offer a buffet for $25/person. What we saw yesterday were beef, pork, pork belly, chicken, shrimp, and squid. Kimchi, soup, and hot side dishes are included. Good deal if you come hungry or just love to eat :) Ps. Their kimchi soup taste like Thai dour curry (Kang Som) We added the shrimps to it and it was super delicious

Did the buffet and really enjoyed it. The concept of self grilling at the table was very novel and made for a great experience with friends. Staff was wonderful and helped us get out get under us on the grill. I appreciated them swapping the grill surface after we got our first one too dirty.

Between San-Su, Kaya, Min-Ga, and Silla, there are actually at least 4 Korean restaurants in the Bethel Rd/Henderson Rd area. There's also the Korean food court at Arirang Market. My point here being, Northwest Columbus is somewhat oversaturated with Korean food. With that said, the one thing that sets San-Su apart from all the other Korean restaurants is their Korean BBQ buffet. For $24.95/person (on a weekday, I think it's a little more on a weekend), you can have all the kalbi and bulgogi you can eat. (plus spicy pork, spicy chicken, squid, shrimp, jap che noodles, etc.) For those not familiar with Korean food, kalbi is marinaded beef shortribs that you usually grill at your table, sort of like how you cook your own food at a fondue restaurant like the Melting Pot. Aside from Japanese wagyu steak, Korean kalbi is probably the best beef dish you can get at any given Asian restaurant. Considering most Korean restaurants will charge $25 for just 1 plate of kalbi, San-Su's buffet is an amazing deal. The major downside to their buffet is the fact that everyone at your table needs to order the buffet, no exceptions. So if there's a vegetarian in your party... you are out of luck. San-Su's regular Korean menu is pretty good too, but they don't really stand out compared to their competition. Looking at other aspects of this restaurant, I would say that the service here is way better than the service at Kaya. On the other hand, their building has zero natural lighting, and can come across as kind of drab. So if you and your meat lover friends are looking for a good Asian buffet, San-Su is a good idea.

Every time I come here everything is just "eh". Not bad enough where I want to leave and never come back, but not good enough where I want to go there. Unfortunately, I always end up there because they have so much space for large groups. Things I've tried there include... soon dubu, dol sot bibimbop, assorted BBQ meats, kalbi tang, all the banchan, seafood pancake, and kimbap. Prices are similar to other Korean restaurants in the area. Due to that, I'd much rather get my Korean food from Silla, since it tastes better to me.

Everything is ok, I love the buffet but it's so expensive. It always more than $30 with tips per person. But it's still good Korean bistro to eat!

I seem to have a thing for "dining experiences" lately- I want all of my food served to me on silver platters with lids, wheeled to me on tiny carts, or cooked right in front of me. I'm all about pushing my boundaries and trying new food too. There's nothing "new" about Korean BBQ, but this was my first time having it. I don't have other BBQ restaurants to compare it to obviously, hence my 4 stars. On a whim I decided to try San-Su today. I typically dine alone, and sometimes get bad service because of that. But my server today was wonderful. She asked if I wanted to try the buffet for $10.95, and while I would have enjoyed trying several dishes, it looked pretty picked over by mid-afternoon. So I ordered the boneless kalbi. She asked if this was my first time having Korean BBQ (was it obvious?) and she patiently explained all of the side dishes and how to eat the BBQ. I salivated while she cooked it for me. The beef was fresh and tender. I pretty well stuffed myself. It should be said that Korean BBQ is not cheap. My bill came to just over $33 including tip (again, for one person). It's pricey for lunch, but what the heck, I deserve it because I'm awesome.

Not bad, pretty pricey Tried out San-Su pretty late on a Tuesday night. Our waitress was pleasant and did the best she could serving us, though it was clear she struggled with the language. No biggie, I kept it simple and had chicken and shrimp fried rice. It was tasty but nothing special considering the high (in my opinion) price. I did not take advantage of the bbq experience though, maybe that is where this restaurant really shines.

I came here with my family this past weekend to celebrate my mom's birthday. If there's one area in which us Koreans excel, it's math. Secondarily, it's eating a lot at buffets. In that regard, our dinner at San-Sun was awesome! We all opted for the buffet, of course, so we could try all the different meats. Our favorite meat to barbecue right at our table was either the spicy samgeupsal (sliced pork belly) or very tender bulgogi (sweet marinated sirloin), which we paired with crisp fresh leaf lettuce, steamed rice, assorted banchan and hot sauces. We also enjoyed some shots of soju with our dinner. Awesome. The five adults and two infants in our party probably ate our collective weight in meat... - which made the $22 price a great deal! Let's just say that it was a real FLESH-tival. Finally, I was pleasantly surprised that my hair and clothes didn't smell like BBQ afterwards - the built-in ventilation on the table BBQs are great.

I quite enjoy their Bulgogi. I wouldn't recommend their buffet.

Tried something new, and is STILL a favorite. My husband and I went for an 'early' dinner, and decided to try the buffet (I believe it's available until 9PM). WOW! You have several meats(pork belly, spicy pork, bulgogi, shrimp, chicken, and calamari - just to name a few), with various vegetables (spinach, bean sprouts, carrots, zucchini). You can make your own bibimbap, and they offer dessert with complimentary tea, and plum wine. The buffet is definitely the better financial deal, and the products are just as high quality as when served straight from the kitchen. A must have!

I love that they're open late, and they're also one of the two places that have Korean BBQ that I know of (the other is Kaya). Be careful, you'll definitely come out smelling like Korean BBQ if you grill in front of you. The lunch menu during the week is just ok. Sometimes you have to wait a while before they get more food out, and I don't know about you, but I don't always have that much time during my lunch breaks. It's just decent, nothing special really. It's got your basics. I've tried the kimchi stew, dubboki, spicy chicken stir fry, and they were all ok. The BBQ is the highlight! Both San and Su combos are great, and I think there are two other combos below that on the menu that seem like good choices as well. I also love the sesame oil sauce and miso sauces! Try the cha dol bae gi (thinly sliced beef), it's one of my favorites!

The Korean bbq here was not the best I only ate a plate and that was it everything was so oily and the kalbi was so bland and it didn't taste so great it was really small and not a lot of selections but the people were nice but the food was not great.

I came here many times with my boyfriend and we both like the food, but the service was horrible :( It's also incredibly expensive to eat here, and the food is just okay. We gave this restaurant as many chances as possible because we all have bad days, but every time we come in here, the people just weren't friendly and accommodating. On a positive note, it won't be bad to splurge on the food especially if you're really hungry. The place is very clean, and the side dishes weren't bad. They also have a nice buffet if you're feeling a little adventurous :)

Ugh. I'm a little torn about this review. First of all - allergic Yelpers beware, their kimchi chigae has NUTS in it!!! Who puts nuts in kimchi chigae??? WEIRD. Yes, it's my fault for not asking about the nuts, but I do a LOT of Korean cooking, and I have NEVER seen nuts in kimchi chigae before. I found out the hard way... with a nice hospital visit tacked on. Anyway. If I put the nuts aside, the food here is pretty good - a litlte overpriced, but that seems to be par for the course here in Columbus. Short ribs were good, beef brisket (chadolbaegi) was pretty tasty as well. I would have enjoyed myself a lot more if it weren't for the allergic accident - so I won't be coming back. But if you REALLY need some Korean, this place will do the trick.

It used to be a great place. Lunch buffet used to be great. Today I was hoping to revisit the taste with a friend. However, they discontinued the all you can eat grill bbq. The replacement, is very disappointed. The bbq was cooked and set aside just like another chinese buffet restaurant. The bbq beef and pork were cold and the server seems inattentive.

Dined here for dinner with a friend after grocery shopping a block away at Cam. We were craving Korean BBQ and I heard that this place had all you can eat (AYCE) at reasonable prices. I do like the concept -- unlike traditional places where you order what you want to cook and they bring it to you, the meat is on display here buffet-style, so you get however much you want yourself. However, we noticed that the buffet didn't have kalbi, which is our favorite type of meat, so we ended up ordering a BBQ combo off of the menu instead. I forgot the name of the combo we chose, but it came with portions of kalbi (marinated pork ribs), samgyeopsal (pork belly), and chadol baegi (brisket), along with the traditional banchan (starters) and doenjang jjigae (soybean soup). I had an enjoyable experience since the selection included all of my favorite KBBQ meats, and it was plenty of food for two people. The bill came out to be around $65 after tax/tip, so my only complaint would be that it's a little overpriced. If only the dinner AYCE had kalbi, then I would be so happy :( I would love to return to try their lunch menu, which is a little above $10pp for AYCE and totally worth it even without kalbi.

The waitresses here are always very friendly and sociable. It's a great place to come with friends if you're in the mood for Korean BBQ, which you can grill directly at your table. I believe Sansu and Kaya are the only places that have the table grilling options out of all the korean restaurants in Columbus. They give a relatively wide assortment of complimentary side dishes (banchan), which always excites me. plus, you can order barley tea on the house and get your own cute teapot! Their sangyupsal (pork belly$ 17) and gamjatang (pork neck and potato stew $14) are my favorites to order. I got their bibimpbap in a stone pot ($12) recently and it was a bit dry...i think it needed more sesame oil - the cure for every lackluster dish!

This is my second visit here, The banchan was pretty standard for Korean restaurants. I got the seollongtang which is ox bone soup. Traditionally, making this soup takes all day, so I was wondering how it would be. It was ok, but very little ox cartilage or noodles in a huge bowl of the white broth. I could definitely picture it sitting around all day in a big pot, and then them dipping it out. I have read other people and their reviews about seollongtang, it is very bland by default, and you must season it yourself, with salt, it's kind of an understood thing in Korea. The bulgogi had been sitting around for a while, as well as the rice. Both were not freshly made. I feel like the main attraction here is the BBQ (self-service is big in Korea), and the menu items are just ok at best. BBQ is pricey, and I think most Americans are not used to cooking their own food so might be turned off. I was a little disappointed with the food, and the service was barely ok, the server was not very friendly at all even after finding out that I was Korean. Usually, the people warm up a lot once they find out I am Korean, but not here.

The buffet here is definitely a must-try! Besides the regular korean BBQ meat, you also get all-you-can-eat cooked foods like sweet and sour chicken, Japche, chicken bokum, as well as a couple of soup selections. Now they even have sushi with the buffet! And it's not like the all-you-can-eat sushi you get else where, because they actually have a lot of meat in them. If you decide to go, definitely wear something you don't mind getting smelly!

I've been here a total of three times and each time is better than the last. Whenever I drive up here, I always think of the same thing...do you remember the movie Bridesmaids? The part where she takes all the girls out to lunch at a janky looking Brazilian steak house and they all get food poisoning?? When you drive up to this building, you think it's going to be janky and you're going to get food poisoning like that movie...espeically since this place sits next to the GORGEOUS Refectory. BUT I PROMISE YOU...do not judge a book by it's cover. This place is awesome! First of all, every table has a grill in the middle. I've been to other Korean restaurants that don't and I always want the BBQ and when you don't have a grill at your table or have to wait for one, that sucks. Every time I've come here, I've wanted to try something different, but my boyfriend and I always get the BBQ. We usually get one of the dinners for two, which is a great option because it's usually cheaper than us getting our own things and we both like what we get. Last night, we have the Sansu combo meal, which comes with shrimp, rib-eye steak, and boneless kalbi beef. You also get the choice of soup(we like spicy, so we always get the kimchi jigae) and a steamed egg, as well as a wide variety of traditional Korean side dishes(my favorite is the kimchi, the fish cake, and the pickled cucumber). They also bring you rice, lettuce(so you can make wraps) and sesame oil and bean paste as condiments. Your protein is cooked right in front of you at your table. Everything is always so fresh and the choice of side dishes is unique and it's so cool to have a little bit of everything. They now also have an all you can eat option, but I'm trying to lose weight so an all you can eat kalbi beef would not be good for me...as much as I may want to indulge. This was my first Korean BBQ place and is one I go back to time and again. If you've never had Korean BBQ before, try this place! You'll fall in love.

I really enjoy the lunch buffet, maybe because I love Korean food. It gives me the opportunity to try various dishes. The manager is very friendly and makes sure that we are taken care of. The food is fresh and tasty! A good value!

    - The "SAN" meal for two includes pretty decent amounts of meat and veggies. - I thought the kalbi had a great flavor and tasted delicious! - The bibimbab was underwhelming. It was very mediocre and not memorable. - The pork katsu was horrible! It was 40%

I love this place. I've been here twice now, and I've liked everything I've had. Now, I saw a previous review that claimed the restaurant requires everyone order meat. This is NOT true. I went, we had one order of bulgogi that three people shared, and we got sukiyaki to have after the bulgogi. We also had seafood pancake, and mandu (vegetable dumplings). Maybe they changed it, or maybe certain waitresses don't reinforce it. But they let you order what you want. Or at least that's how it has been for me. I'll definitely come back.

I came here by myself, and perhaps because i'm korean, i have a special affinity for Korean food, but I was pretty disappointed with this restaurant. BUT, a big caveat is I'm used to NYC Korean food and well... you really cant beat that unless you're in LA or the motherland. anyway, i had the soon tofu chigae (I hate how ppl spell that, but i digress) and the kalbi. the soon tofu chigae was fairly bland, not a lot of spices. I was disappointed that it wasnt piping hot in the stone pot. normally it is served with an egg, which you crack and put in yourself, but i didn't find that until i found the hardened yolk near the end of my meal. There wasn't any beef, pork or seafood mix in the chigae, but it did have 1 mussel and 1 jumbo shrimp. And lots of green onion. I prefer my soon tofu chigae with more seafood/meat as well as spicier and hotter temperature wize... along with the do it yourself egg. Th Kalbi was ok, but for 20 bucks for a 1 person service, I did think it could have been more. the meat was pretty well marbled, but was cut thin, so the kalbi could have been more moist and juicy, but because of the thinness it was just ok. The side dishes were plentiful, maybe 7-8, but I didn't think any of them were that great. you had the bean sprouts, the kimchee, the potato salad (I have no idea why this is always at Korean restuarants, but yeah, they had it). they also had a bok choi dish that tasted like it was crab marinated, and a soy sauce marinated beef dish/stew thing that was ok, but salty...i forget what the name is. Service is pretty good for a korean restaurant, normally you hav to flag down the girl or get things yourself (just the korean way i guess) but she was pretty attentive. Anyway, overall, i thought it was ok, between a 2 and 3 star, but really, it was 'meh' more than A-OK and that's what 2 stars gets.

Love it! Totally a spur of the moment decision that paid off in a big way. We walked in and knew we were in the right place due to the high number of actual Koreans in the restaurant. An old rule of mine is that if the expatriate natives of the ethnic restaurant go there, 'tis gonna be good. Started with a bottle of Soju with an OB beer chaser and it was very nice and flavorful, highly recommended! I had the Bulgogi and my wife had the Kalbi - basically beef in two different ways but totally good. The Kalbi was a highlight. The beef was excellently marbled and marinated to the point of perfection, definitely try this dish. All the complimentary sides were wonderful, particularly the kimchi and the seaweed/radish combo. Both were fermented and marinated excellently, and the kimchi was spicy but not uncomfortably so. The service was great - forthcoming with suggestions but hardly pushy. Food was barbecued at the table and the servers did a wonderful job of keeping track of the dishes without hovering. Only downside was the decor - the place was nice but the open ceiling was a bit off-putting. Altogether, we are already making plans to return!

Hey, I heard there was a good Korean BBQ place on Bethel... which one? I don't know, I will ask Yelp. You all pointed me here. You always do right by me. Though I wasn't head over heels in love with this place, I do think I will return. I had the stone BBB, which to be fair probably isn't the best judge of Korean BBQ place... I mean it is as hard to make BBB amazing as it is to screw it up. This was good, though hot sauce needed more heat. Sides were standard and fresh. Price was excellent. Food came out quickly and was good timing for lunch. The staff was attentive though not particularly friendly. They kind of looked shocked to see new people come in the door, but recovered quickly. I think more suitable to try for dinner- you do smell like Chinese food when you leave.

Lukewarm beer. Burnt Egg casserole. High prices. Mediocre side dishes. Below mediocre meat. I will not come back. How many 4 and 5 stars are written by Koreans? No Koreans in right mind will recommend this place. I, a sound minded Korean, will not. However, I would recommend this place if I didn't like you. You yelpers I like so don't come here.

I've been hitting the Korean food circuit recently (Kaya and Silla), and I just discovered a wonderful little gem in San-Su that I had no idea existed. On Sundays (and maybe even on Saturdays as well) they have a Korean BBQ Buffet! Endless meat to BAR-BEE-QUE! Now I've been to San-su many times before. It does have your standard Korean fare, soups, bimbimbap, kimchee, bbq, etc. but I really was happy and so where all of my fellow meat eaters when we found the buffet-o-meat. With all this bbq love, why only 4 stars? 2 reasons. 1) If you want to have bbq, your entire table must also order bbq. This is to prevent sharing of meat. Understandable but a tad inconvenient. 2) The buffet itself is around $30. Not an easy bill to swallow and it certainly makes this a once in a while meal. Nonetheless, this is great. I brought an out of town friend from Chicago and he was giddy like a school girl when looking at all the bbq treats. Oh and if you don't want BBQ, one of my favorites that you can share is a Korean soup dish called kimchee mandoo jeon gol. It has kimchee, sausage, & rice cakes in a spicy soup broth.

Yet another Korean place in Columbus- we're lucky to have so many. This one is a bit out of the way for me, but I was in the neighborhood so I stopped by. The building is distinctive outside; the decor inside is typical for a Korean place. The service was great- friendly and attentive, though not intrusive. For mid-afternoon the place was busier than I expected. I got the lunch bulgogi order. As usual, for me the banchan almost eclipse the main course, and they were great. Fresh, tasty, always varying a bit from restaurant to restaurant. The bulgogi was solid, if not stellar. There was just enough, with the rice and banchan, to fill me up without being stuffed. At dinner, you use a burner artfully concealed in the table to cook some dishes right there.

This is one of my new favorite restaurants in Columbus! We had the buffet plus ordered some menu items but the buffet itself was just delicious. The buffet has numerous veggies, meats, and appetizer-like items. My favorite part about this is that you can make your own bibimbap. Also, I must mention the delicious spicy soup! We came on a weekend and the buffet was only $12...what a reasonable price! Definitely will be back on my next visit to Columbus!

I came here with my family. We weren't sure what we wanted and we took a long time tell the waiter what we were going to order. He was extremely patient and helpful with our food selections. We ended up getting the Bulgogi BBQ, Hot Stone Bi Bim Bap, a seafood/tofu soup, and Jap Che. The Bulgogi and some onions were cooked in the center grill on the table by the waiter. It was served with lettuce, jalapenos, garlic cloves, and a spicy bean sauce so that you could create your own lettuce wrap. It was delicious. The Hot Stone Bi Bim Bap was aweesooome! I had eaten their cold version before and wasn't that impressed. The hot stone one came in a sizzling stone bowl. The rice that was sitting next to the stone, got nice and crispy. The whole dish came with a slightly spicy sauce that you mixed into the bowl. The flavor was great. I would have liked more spice though. The seafood/tofu soup was good as well. It had large mussels on the half shell as well as tons of mini mussels. The broth could have been a little more flavorful though. The Jap Che was probably my favorite dish of all. The noodles were the perfect squishy/chewy ratio, the beef was tender, and the sauce was delectable! I want more!! Again, the service was great. The waiter was very patient and on top of cooking the Bulgogi for us, clearing the table, checking on us, etc.

We ate here twice during our 4 day stay in the area and enjoyed our meals both times. We ordered spicy pork bbq and kimchee chigae on our first visit, and both were excellent. The ban chan is plentiful (I counted 8 dishes on both visits) and very good quality, and they refill on request. Their kimchee chigae has a wonderful smokiness and is rich with tomatoes. We ordered it as a main course with the spicy pork bbq on our first visit, and it came with flecks of pork and those little rice cakes, which I really like. The next night we had a full bbq dinner with squid, chicken and pork. This comes with a side of kimchee chigae, and this time it didn't have the pork or the rice cakes in it. When I said something to the server, she said I must have had a different soup the night before, but I know what I ordered, so I'm not sure what was going on there. I dislike being dismissed as if I don't know what I'm talking about. She made no effort to understand my point of view or reconcile things in any way. While the service here is super efficient and speedy, it can become rushed. They also failed to refill my hot tea on both visits. The pork BBQ was $20, and I thought the portion was a little small for that price. The food here is good enough to rate 4 stars, but the service sometimes fails and the prices are a little high.

I love Korean food but this place was disappointing and well overpriced. It's got basics but I couldn't really tell the difference between this place and other cheap Chinese buffet restaurants.

This restaurant is located right next door to the Refectory and it was my first real experience with Korean food. Except for Kaya and I've only had sushi there. (It's only been open a week.) This time I told the owner that I wanted to eat Korean. So instead of sitting at the sushi bar, I sat in on of the booths. It felt funny because they're a little high and I felt isolated but I got over it. I had a great waitress, although I don't remember her name. She walked me through everything. So I ordered Spicy Pork BBQ which must have come with fifteen side dishes. I first thought the price was a little high but when I saw what was involved, I changed my tune. Oh, at first it didn't look like I was going to be able to eat there because their burners were out but there was a guy working on them and he got it fixed before I had to leave. Anyway, it was a great meal and I hope to go back again very soon.

The food was all very good, especially the banchan and the freebie kimchee jiggae that came with the "San" BBQ special. Service was also pretty good considering it was Friday night and the place was packed. I belive the food came out with in 5 minutes of ordering (keep in mind however this is a cook it yourself BBQ). Will definitely go back again to try some of their other Korean dishes. But as with most Korean restaurants in Columbus area, the only draw back was the price being a bit too high.

I took a first date to this restaurant last night. I enjoyed the menu selections and the assortment of pickled vegetables and kimchee that accompanied the dinner entrees. I ordered the pork and kimchee bibimbap and he ordered the bulgogi. Good service, great place for a group dinner as well

I've been here several times with friends and family. They have big tables and a big menu. The food is decent. Nothing super special, but it's good for groups, and grilling or having shabu shabu at the table can be a fun experience for groups and dates. Anyone well versed in authentic Asian cuisine will probably agree with my assessment of 3/5 stars. Americans, and others who are not well versed in authentic Asian cuisine will likely rate it higher. That's the experience I've had in my friends group.

I usually go to a place down the street when I am in Columbus for lunch but I missed the exit and saw this place and decided to try it. I am very glad I did. The manager greeted me at the door and was very polite. When she asked me if I had ever been there before I told her no and she walked me through the process and showed me how to create a traditional Korean mix. I was very glad she did too. It was amazing. The flavors really shined and the freshness of the food was apparent. I was too full to go back for seconds but I did try the Kimchi as a side as well as the soups. The Miso was pretty normal but the Wonton soup was amazing. it was so full of dumplings compared to most places I get it! The manager checked on me several times and the cook was constantly looking at the quality of the food out. If you like to try Korean BBQ then this is a must stop for you. Being so close to 315 there really isnt any reason why you cant easily stpo by for lunch. I will definitely be back!

Having just spent two months in Seoul this year and finding myself missing my favorite hole-in-the-wall happy cow BBQ restaurant in Haengsin, San-Su appeared in the distance on a chilly Christmas night. I settled in for a solo experience, realizing the penalty that comes with eating Korean BBQ alone. I ordered galbi and followed with mool naeng myun. This is a common pairing at most BBQ restaurants in Korea--the chilled noodle soup serves to clean the palate from the smoky meat. Depending on the season, the it also helps keep you cool or fortifies you for the cold weather. This is uncommon enough here that the owner asked when I returned from Korea ;-). The food portions were easily big enough for two, and I definitely didn't eat everything that was in front of me. The galbi was marinated with a recipe that, as far as I could tell, was pretty true to the way things are done back home. It was served with many traditional banchan (side dishes). I tend to avoid the mushroom, seaweed and sprout dishes, but the cabbage kimchee, daikon salad and cucumber were very good. There was also a rather pungent and quite enjoyable bok choy kimchi that was the best of the bunch. The ssamjang (soybean paste and chili paste mixed together, often added to the lettuce and galbi) was the best I've come across in the US. The naeng myun was the weaker side of the meal. The broth wasn't as flavorful as many I've come across. Mustard paste was served alongside as opposed to liquid hot mustard. As a result, the noodles had "hot spots." The service was great, if not a little overbearing. Having done the BBQ thing by myself across Seoul for two months, I appreciate being able to cook my own meat. I also understand most Americans might need a little help in that department! :-) In total, the dinner came out to $50 including an iced tea and tip. Expensive for one, but quite reasonable for what two people could easily share. There were a few other specials that looked promising for couples as well in the $40-$50 range.

I went for "Lunch" buffet many times because it's worth for $$. Although I am so disappoint that they don't have BBG grill for lunch buffet, they do have it for dinner. It's good Korean food for Columbus, OH. I wish they had BBQ on grill for "Lunch" buffet as well, like the one in Seattle.....Love it !! Of course, they can raise the cost for food.. they should have choices either with grill or not price. I hope the owner read this rating and make a change.

service very friendly, but their soon tofu is very disappointing, compare with silla and kikyo, broth no flavor, kimchi no flavor, and for the seafood soon tofu, I only get one shrimp?maybe there's more, I just didn't notice. I order hot stone BBB the other night, it was ok... compare with min ga, theirs is just less flavor. I'll come back is just beacuse the location and they open late. the food is really just ok...

Yes! a place that serve shabu shabu / hot pot! I was so excited to find this place because I love hot pot in the winter. The kim chi starters were great. I highly suggest the pickled cucumbers and sweet soy beans. The green onion pancake and green were both good too. The service was friendly and helpful. I recommend!

Our waiter (I think it was Mike?) was a Caucasian guy who had lived in Korea for some time and was great at explaining what the foods were, and how everything went as far as group orders, cooking the food etc. The bulgogi was as tender as any meat I've ever had and had just the right amount of sweetness. The kalbi was excellent too and had the look and texture of steak almost. I recommend trying the aloe vera side dish.

Horrible food!!! The price doesn't deserve the quality at all. Spend 50 dollars for two person, and still not full. Very small serve! Never go there! Don't understand this restaurant can and 3.5 star on Yelp!!!!

Went for the first time ever to this restaurant specifically for BBQ. Only the second time every trying Korean BBQ and the rest of the family had never tried it before. The waiter was friendly and was at least seemed happy to chat with my wife about Korea and being Korean so the meal was also educational. We let him cook at the table since one thing we ordered was pork Belly. THAT was the star everything else was good and of good quality. Oh and they sent over Green Tea ice cream with strawberry sauce when they found out it was my birthday.

Korean BBQ done well. A nice assortment of side dishes come quickly after ordering. Even better, the entirety of our order came out at the same time. Kimchi pancake was very good, while the cold noodles were a bit of a disappointment. The latter lacked the appropriate hint of sweetness. The bulgogi itself was very nicely seasoned, cooked quickly, and meshed perfectly with its dipping sauce. The restaurant has a nice thematic decor and very attentive staff. To nitpick, it was cold inside (although perhaps if more people ordered the bbq the place would warm up). Strongly recommended for the BBQ.

I would like to submit an addendum for Urban Dictionary's definition of "clusterfuck". That addendum would reference a dinner at San-Su as its prime example. We visited San-Su for a supplier's going away party, thinking that the communal nature of Korean barbecue would make for a good sending off. The six of us sat at a double-length table, enough space to have allowed another two people to sit with us had our party been larger. We ordered a couple two-person bbq meals and an individual portion of the pork belly to ensure everyone had enough food, while the pescaterian among us ordered the eel bibimbap. Having enough food wasn't a problem. Having way, way, way too many damn plates on the table was. I remind you that we had two tables worth of space to play with, outside of the bbq pit in the center. Almost every square inch of real estate was taken up by a total of sixty-eight plates, bowls, and beer glasses. Sixty-eight. Hello massive sensory overload. There were enough metal objects that you could melt the lot down and line an entire room with aluminum (gotta keep the aliens from probing your mind, dontchaknow). No envy for the guy doing the dishes. Many of these were the banchan bowls. Rather than combining these into a single set with larger quantity per bowl, we had two complete sets of identical bowls only lightly filled with product floating around the table. We were given small plates for the meal rather than one larger one on which we could place portions of the banchan or the individual meats. On top of that, we had to pass dishes quickly to distribute the most recently cooked meat so we could fill the same bowls with the next in the sequence. Somehow there were too many plates for comfort, yet too few plates for proper utility. That takes real skill. The food itself was well prepared by the kitchen. The loser of the bunch was the cha dol bae gi (thinly sliced beef with sesame sauce), which came out on the tough side and lacked much flavor. The remaining meat dishes (pork belly, kalbi, bulgogi, chicken, and ribeye) were excellent, the meat universally tender and very well seasoned. The ribeye was a particularly prime cut and was widely praised for its melt-in-your-mouth quality. The banchan were all admirable, though I prefer those of nearby Min-Ga. Despite the presence of that many plates, the rice was completely forgotten. I asked for some later to round out the meal, so other than our bibimbapper, I was the only one at the table to get any. (Sixty-nine.) The food is worth four stars, and despite the table overload I would recommend San-Su to others. You can enthrall friends later with the juggling skills you developed over dinner and drinks.

First time I ordered from the menu. Not impressed, mainly with the side dishes. But I left feeling ripped off. Second try I was baited in by the all you can eat, over priced self service BBQ, $27.95. I've been to many Korean restaurants and this was my second try with this location. Our server was very attentive. As for the staff, everyone is very polite. I won't be going back. Side dishes are poor quality and not very good. I recommend driving west about a mile to Kaya and you get a 5 star experience.

I was here for a business dinner a few days ago and I was impressed. The interior looks and feels slightly odd because of all the divisions/sectionals/booths that reminded me of office cubicles. Service was impeccable. Our waiter was extremely polite, knowledgeable and had a good balance of tending to our every needs without being intrusive. On to food, we tried kim chi jun which is like a thick, savory crepe with kim chi pieces cooked into it. It was phenomenal! Crunchy on the outside, hot, soft on the inside. Tangy and spicy kim chi added lovely flavor. This was a winner! I had hot stone bowl bibim bob (mixed rice). It was good but it could have used more meat. Veggies on there were plentiful and seasoned well. One of the business associates had bulgogi our waiter cooked for him on the grill in the middle of the table. Though I didn't try it, the meat looked to be of good quality - it was devoured with much enthusiasm which afforded us several minutes of silence. Ban chan was diverse and good - we were told that every single item on our table was made in house - kudos! Overall, we had a good time, food was fresh and tasty, service fantastic. I will definitely return.

I was just here for the first time last night with a big group of friends and I really liked it. I've never had Korean food before and I was a little nervous, especially since I am vegetarian and gluten free, but it was awesome! I had the vege japchae, which is glass noodles stir fried with vegetables, and I loved it. My friends all shared various other items (which were not vegetarian or gluten free, so I couldn't partake) which were brought to our table in a million little bowls and quickly cluttered the table. I didn't mind, but all my friends had to constantly pass the bowls around and reach all over the place to get their food. The service was great, out waitress was very attentive and friendly. After we were done eating, we were talking about 2 framed pictures of some type of Korean childrens clothing and another waitress came by and joined in on the conversation and made some jokes with us. My husband is out of the country so he wasn't able to go to San-Su with us, but I will definitely be going back so he can try it too, I know he will love it.

Gotta go three stars on this one. The food was very good, but not special and it seemed a little pricey. Everything was good quality and we got a very nice selection of banchan. I wish we could give half stars because the service deserves better than 3 stars. The waitress (by the way very attractive) were very helpful and the manager was very attentive and made sure that we understood everything about the experience and that my kids were happy with what they ordered. Very nice touch and very patient to a table full of noobs to the Korean BBQ scene. All in all, it was good. I had the Bipbimbap which was mostly rice..could have used some more veggies and meat and other ingredients. My son had the bulgogi which was very good - tender, slightly sweet marinade. The hit of the night was the Kim Chi pancake. It was a huge appetizer and was delicious!! Could have just gotten that and some soup and been happy. Overall, nice place, friendly staff and good food, but I just couldn't get over the prices. Seemed 20% too high even for the quality of food.

As you walk into the restaurant you are hit with a distinct smell of meat with some sort of caramelized sauce. The decor looks like the inside of a traditional Korean home with wood rafters and paper lanterns. The seating is set perfectly for groups as you get a large booth with an equally larger burner in the middle used for Korean BBQ. Upon arriving, we were greeted by a very friendly hostess and to our delight the restaurant was filled with mainly Korean patrons (always a good sign when eating ethnic food). The menu is filled with traditional Korean specialties from Mandoo to Kalbi to a variety of soups. Don't be scared if this is your first Korean experience as the waitress was quick to offer us help and suggestions of what to eat and order. Although the specialty of the restaurant is BBQ, there are only about 4 options. Most of the BBQ options share common items. I didn't see tea on the menu, but ask for it and you will get it for free (it was very good). My girlfriend and I got mandoo (fried dumplings) for appetizer and shared a Kalbi Tong (short rib soup with clear noodles) and Jap Che (seasoned clear noodles with beef and veggies). Our food was wheeled out on a cart along with 12 banchan (side dishes) ranging from kimchee to spicy fish to turnip salad. If you are an adventurous eater make sure to tell your server as they save the more authentic stuff for Korean eaters. The mandoo came in an order of 5 and they were filled with pork and vegetables. The mandoo had very good flavor, but were a little greasy. My Kalbi Tong had a garlic and beef broth which was not as hearty as I like, but good enough for a cold night. The potatoes in the soup were bland and the short rib meat didn't exactly fall off the bone. My girlfriend's Jap Che was on the opposite end on the spectrum. The dish was abound with veggies and the beef was well-cooked and sweet. The noodles were doused in a sweet sauce, but were rather greasy. Overall it was not a bad dish and will suit the pallet of a first-time Korean eater who isn't on the adventurous side. Overall, San-Su is a good experience for a large party or a first-time Korean eater as the atmosphere and decor lends to a fun time. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, willing to guide you through the menu. I will go back and try the BBQ to see how that compares to the traditional Korean fare that we ordered.

San Su quickly jumped from 4 stars to 2 stars in these last few months that i visited them. San Su used to have a stellar kalbi, well-marinated, flavorful and incredibly juicy. But now, the kalbi is mediocre at best. I just had dinner later this evening with a couple of friends. The Kalbi i had today was beyond terrible. I didn't taste anything and i believe they did not defrost the meat properly, which made the meat chewy. The other thing we ordered was the spicy pork, which was also low on seasoning. Consistency is highly lacking in this place. I was really excited when Columbus has another Korean BBQ restaurant (so that we have something else beside Ka Ya). I am disappointed with what this place has become. It had a great potential.

Excellent Korean BBQ! I can't speak to the other dishes on the menu, as we only had the barbeque, but it was exceptional. Don't be intimidated by the price, as others have said, one $20 BBQ plate comes with ~10 different side dishes, including rice. To give you an idea of portions, our group of 4 adults had one order of Kalbi and one order of spicy pork, beers, and edamame, and we were all stuffed. Definetly splurge for the tender, marbled Kalbi. Its so worth it!

We went here on a Friday night with 2 kids and 2 adults; the wait time was about 30 minutes, but it ended up being about 45 minutes before we were seated. Once we were seated our server came and took our drink order and the kids wanted a shirley temple... even though there was a full bar, they couldn't make a shirley temple because they didn't have ginger ale. We thought this was interesting. Our drinks came and we ordered the Su(?), which was a dinner for 2 and included the Chicken BBQ, Bulgoolgi BBQ, and another main meat dish that was a thin beef. The order also came with a choice of soup - we asked what was in each because I don't eat seafood, and our server said the one was a seafood soup and the other was tofu... we chose the latter. In addition, it came with a number of sides, the one's I remember are: some sort of fish, fruit salad, a couple spicy sides, 2 dipping sauces, and a couple others. The food came out on a cart and the kids were all excited to "cook their own food." Our server told us what each was and she put the first meat on the grill for us. Then we didn't see our server for a LONG time... We finished cooking the first meat, which only took about 5 minutes. The kids liked this thin beef the best. At this point, we weren't quit sure what to do next and we hadn't seen our server... so we started adding the rest of the meat to the grill. In the middle of cooking the meat the hostess walked by and said that she would get us a new grill plate and some new meat - I guess we weren't supposed to put the meat on the grill plate, but our server hadn't been by (and we were hungry), so we just continued cooking. The next thing we know, the grill is COMPLETELY off! The hostess had said she'd bring by a new grill plate, but ended up turning the grill off so we couldn't finish cooking the meat that was already on there... It took about 10 minutes for anyone to come back to our table, so our half-cooked meat was just sitting there. Finally, at this point, our server stopped by our table and we told her what happened. She went to get a new grill plate and then had us move the 1/2 cooked meat to the new grill to finish cooking it. The hostess ended up bringing out a little bit more of the chicken and bulgoogi meat, which we thought was very nice. While we had our server at our table, we asked for refills on our beverages... she only refilled the coke and not the water... We finished cooking all the meat and waited for our server again... we finally got our bill and was able to pay to leave. We gave it a 3-star only because the actual food was good. The meat was marinated very well... my sister loved the fish side dish, the fruit salad, bulgoogi, and the other meat dish. I only ate the chicken and thought it was marinated very well. Although it says that this is a "kid-friendly" restaurant, it really isn't if your kids aren't willing to experiment with food. There is no kid menu, therefore they have to be willing to eat the same food as the adults. Overall... service is horrible, explanation of what to do wasn't good, but the majority of the food (main dishes) were really good. Our server did continue to apologize, but she never tried to rectify the issue (i.e. be more attentive, answer questions, etc.). Oh, I forgot to mention that the tofu soup was a fish base, which they failed to mention when we asked if it had meat/seafood in it...

Read in ALIVE! newspaper recently that the cabbage soup is SPICY! This was one of the featured dishes that was under a Spicy foods category. Went in and was impressed with the soup, and the little dishes of sides that were served with the soup. This is delivered to your table on a cart that they wheel out of the kitchen. The pot that the soup is served in must have been heated in the oven, since the soup is bubbling (boiling). Quite a spicy soup, add some rice to the soup, and enjoy the tofu cakes that are in the soup. This will take care of any cold!

Finally some good Korean BBQ in Columbus. Don't be intimidated by the menu, the servers are really nice and friendly and will help you out. For a table for 4 we got an appetizer and the San dinner for 2. It definitely fed all four of us ( 1 guy, 3 girls) to a *good* full not a stuff your gut full. A lot of food came with the combo, variety of meat, steam egg, soup, and massive amounts of banchan (side dishes). The waitress was enthusiastic but she forgot quite a few things that we had to request that were supposed to come with the meal (steamed egg and soup) and when they did come, the soup was the wrong one and we didn't bother telling her since it was at the end of the meal. A small blip on an otherwise nice experience.

Interior was spacious compared to other Korean places I've been. Felt very open. We were there late Sunday so it was pretty empty. We had some shrimp dumplings that were fine but nothing special I ordered the pork spicy bbq. It was cooked at the table in two batches and the waitress was very attentive and friendly in describing the multitude of banchan. It was very good. They sued good pork loin not some mystery cut. Though not the best doeji bulgogi I've had(see Riverside Korean in Covington, KY), my brother was looking a little jealous so I shared. My bro got the stone bowl Bibim bam which he liked and I was happy since it was his first Korean experience. The variety of banchan was excellent and of course overwhelmed us. I always forget that the reason dinners are a little pricey compared to lunches at Korean places is because the shear volume of sides. Service was better than the 3 stars would indicate. Around when you needed something without getting in the way of conversation. I could see upping it another star with a couple more visits because it seems like a fairly deep menu. Would make a nice date venue for those who are interested in trying something new and getting hands on with their food.

Relying on only the comments on yelp, I hosted my birthday dinner here for 10 people (including kids). A little leap of faith, but once again, my yelp buddies led me down the right path. The food was excellent, meats were marinated very well, all side dishes were excellent, and the Korean beer was a nice touch. It brought back some wonderful memories for my brother and myself. We both spend a 24 hr layover in Seoul. Unlike Korea, our hostess was very helpful in suggesting our dinner options. She was available when we needed (example were turning the meat at the right time) but allowed to celebrate. Dinner was on the pricey side but well worth it especially if you are celebrating a special occasion. If you are going to try this place for the first time, I suggest get 3 of your friends to join you. For starters, share an order the Kim Chee or the seafood Pancake. This textural, savory delight (paired with a sweet-sour sauce) is an excellent way to start this dinner., Also try Mandoo, the deep fried dumpling. The larger group also gives you an opportunity to try so many meats. My fav was the spicy pork, shrimp and the beef ribs, Kalbi. For the uninitiated they also offer beef (Ribeye) that is not marinated. Overall , this is a very relax dinning experience; having a glass of beer or wine while your dinner is cooking in front of you. Also great place for dinner with company, family, double date etc. Excellent staff, and great food.

We tried out the new all you can eat buffet they just started. I couldn't believe it only included kimchee and not a kimchee set. They are too cheap to give you the appetizers but would rather have you eat just meat. They even charged us $1.00 for lettuce. The meat was of good quality and tasty. Overall, we won't go again for $27.95 per person.

Don't be intimidated to try this place if you don't know Korean food. (I certainly don't) The service is very friendly, the atmosphere fun, and the food is great. All of the small sides they bring out are interesting to try. It's a great place to bring your kids or to go with a group as the atmosphere is laid back, and the table side grilling makes for a fun activity.

A Korean friend took me here for lunch. I had kalbi. It was delicious. I live in the Short North, but in my opinion Bethel Rd. has the best restaurants in the city.
