I stopped in for lunch today and I was the only soul in the place. And this was around 12:30. It's a pretty large restaurant regardless of what the name implies. I ordered at the counter, spaghetti with meat sauce, and the owner brought it out to me a few minutes later. It was edible, but just barely. For the same price I could have gone to Monte Carlo and had much better.

Great prices, food tastes like homemade and it's quick. I had the fettuccine alfredo with broccoli and mushrooms, which is a meal I make all the time from scratch, so I'm very picky when eating it from restaurants. This place nails it, very homemade tasting and deliciously creamy. Note: They only take cash so come prepared. Will be back.

I didn't exactly know what to expect from Pasta Petite, but I'm really glad that I went to try out he food there today. ***Make sure you take cash!*** The atmosphere The place was actually very lonesome when I first arrived and i noticed that all the menus were written in marker on cardstock paper. This looks pretty plain and not very professional at all, everything that is going on in the restaurant looks like it probably hasn't moved or changed at all if ever. This is probably a great thing for those that have experienced the place from when it first started. I went there about 7pm on a Wednesday, and it just seemed so dead, also the a/c was out that day too, but it wasn't the worst thing that I've ever encountered in my life. The food I decided to order a Meat Lover's Pasta, this apparently comes with a cold salad and a water (unless you order a soda). When I got the salad, it was a total let down, the lettuce was floppy and not crisp, the tomatoes were a disappointment, but the dressing was marvelous that he put on it. My advice, one could just skip the salad. The actual pasta was a done so perfectly, the noodles were not over cooked nor under cooked. The meat that was on the pasta, complimented the pasta at a very balanced level. The garlic toast that they had was nothing special, but nothing bad. Extra The thing that I saw that caught my eye was the fact that the dispatch had given them a review back in '93 and the person giving the review gave a great review of the place, yes it still had some negatives, but overall it was positive. They were even hoping that it would have multiple locations or would've become a chain. It also sounded like the place generally had an environment that was good to work in. The sad reality is that now it's a one man band, my mind just wonders how it got from there to now. Verdict What Pasta Petite missed in appearances and formalities, it actually made up in bringing something nostalgic and elementary like pasta to such a heart-warming level. It makes you feel like you were adopted into an Italian family, the cooking can actually lift your spirits as well as heal your appetite. I will definitely go again!

Fast, cheap, homemade and healthy food. You order and he makes the dish right then and there. The food is not super super excellent, but most of the dishes are no more than $7.00, so I do find it to be quite good for the price. Worth stopping by on the way home from work one day. Cash only!

I ordered a stromboli from here for pick-up. The wait was thirty minutes, and I ended up waiting an hour. To be fair, the guy charged me only half price for my wait. But when I got to my car, I saw how small the stromboli was (the size of a large breadstick) and also that he had given me the wrong ingredients inside. It was still yummy, none the less! It is only one guy running the place, he seems like he struggles with how to time manage with multiple customers. I feel bad for him, he's so adorable!

Food was great, and inexpensive. Service was a little slow but it is a 1 man show so it's expected.

I was a server here in the 90's, when the Continent was a busy place with professionals in need of a good lunch. Now the neighborhood has fallen and the business is slow, but my old boss Ali is still cooking the good stuff. He makes a great alfredo sauce and marinara, the cold pasta salads are very good. My favorite years later is still the chicken ravioli in a creamy sauce. Most ingredients come from nearby Carfagnas. The tables inside can be easily pushed together and it is a fine environment for kids. Nice original artwork canvas on the walls, sometimes a TV near the beverage dispenser. Ali can also cater, brunch/lunch/dinner, he is easy to talk to about selection and prices. If you want to support a local owner who cooks the food, go to Pasta Petite, he has been making the goods for more than 20 years. Sadly the business is slow, so he can't afford great servers like me anymore :)

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
