The restaurant is in a pretty random location, just a strip mall with a couple stores surrounded by houses. We opted to sit outside since it was a nice night. I would definitely call to make reservations; the inside is pretty small but they have a decent sized patio outside. One thing to note, the restaurant is next to an ice cream place which was kind of loud with kids shouting and crying so if that's going to bother you sitting inside might be a better option. We got there at 7:15 and ordered a couple apps while deciding on dinner. We ordered the lobster dumplings (4 for $9 I think) and shrimp; they were pretty good. They came out really quickly, probably within 2-3 minutes of ordering them which I guess is good if you are hungry. We ordered dinner when our apps came out; salmon with veggie risotto, buttermilk fried chicken with mac and cheese, and BLT with vegetable root fries. Again our food came out quickly within probably 10 minutes of ordering. The food all tasted very good and everyone was satisfied with their meals. We were done and out of there by 8:00 so I guess we just all felt pretty rushed. (there was no wait or rush to turn the table) I usually like to take my time with dinner; have some wine and relax since it was so nice out. I just think the food could have been timed better in my opinion but others may not be bothered by that.

I've come to this restaurant a few times now, so I feel I can write this honestly. The first two experiences were good ones. The last two have been so disappointing. The fried chicken was just okay. The mac and cheese that came with it was awful - soupy and extremely sweet. The fried chicken was on top of the mac and cheese mess, which ruined any crispiness the chicken had to begin with. This may be an okay place to stop for a drink, but steer clear of the food. Save your money and your tastebuds.

The fried chicken was amazing. Tiny place, but the best meal I've had in a while.

I so want to love this restaurant since we can walk to it but sadly, it needs more work. We've been twice. The first time was before they expanded and I thought atmosphere was cold and temporary feeling, complete with the cheap banquet chairs. Food was decent. I had a great burger and hubby had the fried chicken, which he just said was ok. Then we visited again, after the expansion. We were seated at a new booth, which was spread way too far from the table. There were 2 very large parties and us. This was the loudest restaurant I can recall and we could not even speak to each other due to the loud groups and horrible acoustics. The ceilings are high, floor is hard and there is nothing to buffer the sound. They should have had a designer help with the remodel. They were short staffed and we waited 40 minutes to get the popcorn appetizer! My burger was not as good as the first time and my husband said cup hickey is still ok. He told me not to expect him to ever go back as it was a miserable dining experience. I hope they read reviews and make a few changes to help with the sound and hire a waitress because I want to see them stay.

This place has pretty good food. I've been here a few times and only had the sandwiches (BLT and burger) for lunch and dinner, which are awesome. Really juicy burgers, a generous size and good flavor. I also like the root vegetable fries they serve with them. The other place I go for burgers is the Brazenhead and I like this one much more. For some reason, it just tastes better and I don't feel as heavy after eating this huge burger as I do at the brazenhead. The 1/2 pound bacon BLT had suitably crunchy and thick cut bacon---definitely worth the heart attack risk. I stayed away from the entrees because they seemed overpriced (closer to $25 than not) and from the description, kind of pedestrian. Since I first went, even the burger prices have crept up $2-3 to about $12, but considering its couture burger with couture fries and all that I guess that's ok. Their desserts were not so great, though they did have a nice selection of bottled beer ($4.50-$6), and has been noted here, did not have wine available. The ingredients appear farm fresh (they have a deli-style display of their meats) though not necessarily local. Overall, for me, its effectively an upscale beer and burger place given my take on their menu, but its pretty good at that. The service is friendly and prompt, though not particularly knowledgeable about the food. This is something the managers might want to change. The servers don't really emphasize the "organic" message of their website or what distinguishes this place from any other beer and burger place---if they were a bit more educated (or more talkative) about the restaurant that might persuade a cheapskate like myself to try their more expensive entrees. The one thing I think should definitely be changed about this place is the ventilation. You really feel like you're in a kitchen where they do a lot of frying, and your clothes will smell that way after your meal. They need to close that area off or get a better air handler. Also, the a/c was insufficiently cooling for this hot summer. But, I would definitely get a burger to go, as its a great burger and I would really like this place to succeed in this neighborhood.

My sister wanted her Birthday to be a fun relaxing "Happy Hour" where friends could come and go and at a place we could walk to. Park Creek Kitchen seemed to fit the bill since it is close to home, has a patio and opens at 4:30 on Friday. We arrived at 4:36 on Friday and found it closed, about 10 minutes later someone opened the door and we told them our plans -Happy Hour on the patio with friends coming and going -No Problem. We ordered a drink from the Grouchy Bartender and took them out to the patio. As guests arrived they also had to go into the bar to order, this would have been alright if the place was not empty! After the glasses stacked up on our table and no one came out to see if we wanted to order food we decide to leave - I went in to pay the bill and there were at least 5 wait staff standing around with 4 customers. Very disappointed -I WOULD NOT RECOMMED THIS PLACE. It's a shame because this is a good location and looked promising for future outings.

The man & I came here after downloading a gift certificate from restaurant.com . After reading so many glowing reviews, I went with the buttermilk fried chicken. It definitely did not disappoint. I'm usually not a lover of fried chicken, but I figured I had to try it. Perfect crispiness on the outside & so juicy and tender on the inside. The mac & cheese was okay & I very much liked the green beans. The man went with the three pigs sandwich. He'd had a three pigs at Milestone 229 a few weeks earlier & said Park Creek blew it out of the water. One note: the $25 gift certificate from Restaurant.com is good for two entrees - which means you don't qualify if you get a special & sandwich. However, we were allowed to use it if we got a dessert. We went with the chocolate lava cake which was super chocolatey, and probably could have used a scoop of ice cream. Overall, a great dinner & we'll be back for burger night!

We went tonight for dinner; the day they opened! The chef/owner is really nice, as well as the manager and servers, and they have really done a lot with the old Arlington Pizza and Meatball space; they even have an outdoor patio. The food was amazing and SO unique!!! We had the calamari... which had green tomatoes and smoked chilies... almost an orange? flavor to the breading, and they didn't serve it with typical cocktail sauce; the dipping sauce was fabulous. Next I had the artichoke soup...equally great...sooo yummy! And then I had the smaller portion of the farmer's salad with pistachio crusted goat cheese, sweet potato croutons, and carrot vinaigrette; the smaller portion was more than enough after the soup! My boyfriend had the 3-pig sandwich and he loved it! The beer selection was great (I recommend the Witte), and when they obtain their liquor license it will be even better. I'm lucky enough to work and live in the area, and plan on becoming a regular :)

Officially one of my new favorites, Park Creek Kitchen is the bomb! Much like it's far & away organic & locally grown-serving competitors (ie: 3rd & Hollywood, Northstar, Dragonfly...), this place is simple & fresh, with dishes that are creative & painstakingly memorable. The service was E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T! We walked in (30 minutes to close) & got greeted as if we were close family friends, seated within seconds...milliseconds actually, & had a server just as fast! Turns out, our server is the chef's lovely lady, & boy, do they make a great team! We started off with the Golden Calamari: served with green tomato relish & smoked chilies: $8.50. It was dark on the patio, so being blind as I am, I swore this dish had peaches in it, but it turns out that the green tomato relish is just that sweet...with a crazy good kick of hot spice thrown into the mix of calamari. I had to have the Southwest Burger: fried green tomato (I'm a sucker for some good fried green tomatoes), aged cheddar, quillija chili sauce, pickle: $8.00. The burger was cooked to order & larger than life...but how could I forget the Root Vegetable Fries! Still not sure what exactly they are, but seasoned to perfection & mixed in were some sweet potatoes. Hubz opted for the Grilled Prime Rib: candied horseradish jus, signature skillet potatoes: $25.00. Planning our next trip to UA to try the Roasted Farm Chick, Pasta Americana & Crab Cakes...you'll just have to check out their menu for the details! Side note: For now they only serve beer...but the artisan beers similar to what you find at Brazenhead (Great Lakes, Amber Steam, Flying Dog, etc.) but they're working on the wine & liquor...apparently it's a dry precinct there in UA.

Yummy popcorn is what came into my mind when I think about this place. Truffle oil and asiago cheese really do the job. However, other appetizers didn't stand out as much as the popcorn. I ordered the chicken and it is really good, so far, in my opinion, this is the best fried chicken I ever taste in Columbus. The chicken is crispy on the outside and the meat is juicy and cooked to perfection. Their mac n cheese is also very good. My girlfriend ordered we 3 pigs sandwich, it is pretty good for me but I am not crazy about it. If you want to eat here, please come early. There is no reservation and often time the place is packed. Many times I saw people left because they didn't get any seat.

The place is like an old friend that you overlook their faults because there are so many positive attributes that overcome the minor flaws... (and the flaws add character - true?). The food quality can be a little uneven - one dish spectacular and the next iffy... but the service is always great, the wine selection NICE, and the atmosphere... as someone said, NOT on a main drag with 200 cars going by a relief! (Sometimes after a chaotic day one just wants to have a mini-retreat inside the City).

Finally, a non-frantic restaurant in a relaxing village setting away from a major thorougfare or mall. Classic Park burger was great and perfectly cooked. Buttermilk chicken a big hit with others. Atmosphere was unrushed which is rare. Service was pleasant and accomodating without being too "involved". Root veggie fries a great alternative to usual "frites".

We went in for dinner - both got entrees - pork chop and chicken. The fried chicken was really really delish. The pork chop was good too, but more like a hamchop, which the waiter warned me out. Service was great and food was so good, we came back a week later for burgers, which were seriously amazing. We will be going back!

I don't normally write recommendations, but this restaurant was amazing. I had the buttermilk fried chicken, green beans, and Mac & Cheese. The chicken came out piping hot and I can't describe the breading, only that I couldn't get enough. I did have the honey peppercorn glaze on the side because I wasn't sure if I would like it. Now I'm not big on meat being sweet, but this was soooo good. It was like standing in the middle of a fairway inhaling the aroma of fried chicken and funnel cakes. The Green beans were perfect with alittle crunch and the mac & cheese was fun while delightful with their creamy cheesy spiral noodles. I'll wrap up my experience with one word: GO!

Park Creek Kitchen is new to Old Arlington, and they bring a lot to the table: a unique, innovative menu which also promises to be reasonably priced; a nice selection of beers, and a cool atmosphere, both inside and on their front patio. After checking out the menu, I had the We Three Pigs sandwich with root vegetable fries. The sandwich was simply awesome. A delicious bun with a layer of juicy pulled pork, crispy bacon, and a tender fried pork cutlet, topped with melted swiss cheese. Pretty indulgent, yes. But well-executed and flavorful. If you are a BBQ lover, or the meat and potato type, this sandwich is calling your name. The fries appeared to be a mixture of potatoes, sweet potatoes, and some other vegetables. Very good, even if you pass on the ketchup like I did. Looking forward to going back and sampling more. Definitely worth a try!

Please hire a decorator!!! The food is yummy. The wine and beer selection nice. The staff aims to please. Overall I like this place very much. However, since their addition in August 2012, the decor is seriously lacking. Horrible banquet hall chairs, a sponge painted wall and artificial flowers leave this place BEGGING for a makeover. Plus, will you please designate one rest room for Men, the other for Women? This unisex concept is the pits when you are a lady. We should never be required to lower a toilet seat that some inconsiderate man has left in the upright position. Yuck!

Best food in UA! Try the burgers. Better than Thurmans. Seafood is always fresh, and he uses local and products from the USA only. A rare gem!

My wife and I went out last night with friends to Park Creek Kitchen (PCK not to be confused with CPK) . When we arrived our friends were already seated with water and drinks in front of them. We sat down and within a few short minutes our waiter came over and introduced himself and brought water to us. *** I have read all the review so far on this place and everyone raves about the attentiveness of the staff. I am not going to go that far, I am just going to say that our waiter came around at all the right times. *** We started off with the appetizers. Our friends ordered the fried pickles and we ordered the popcorn. I am lacking in knowledge to know whether or not the pickles were the best things ever or not, but I was surprised with how very flavorful they were. I have only tried on fried pickle once, and I was a bit weirded out by that, but I tried again last night and they were pretty dran tasty. As for the popcorn, this was not your normal basket of popcorn. This was one savory pile of goodness, I would definitely order them again. We all ordered the hamburgers and the root veggie fries. First of all I would order those fries again and again and again, they were good and different. Since everyone ordered a Burger, although different ones, I will assume they all tasted pretty much the same. I really enjoyed my western burger. I ordered mine sans cheese against the recommendation of my waiter. the temperature (medium) was good the onions were a bit greasy (but, I expected that) and the mushrooms where a little chewy. I have to say I don't like mushrooms, but I wanted to be adventurous. So, maybe mushrooms are supposed to be chewy I really don't know and this is not a complaint they WERE chewy. The portions sizes were more then enough and everyone left full or at least I know that I did. We were so full that none of use ordered the dessert which, looked pretty good. Here's the bottom line: Pros: Attentive waiter Friendly Staff Clean You can have a conversation and not have to yell Fresh, local foods Interesting wine/alcohol selection ( I enjoyed the Cider) Good food quality Good Portions Veggie Fries/Popcorn/Fried Pickles Simple decor Cons: Limited seating area (at least inside). Amazingly enough, outside there is a lot more seating. This won't help once winter comes. If it happens to get crowded I think parking would be an issue, but I don't know because there were not a lot of people in this area last night Between: The menu was a bit limited for me. BUT I have some dietary restrictions and they are serving fresh and local foods. So this is may be just a con for me which is why I am calling this a between. I have a feeling that these folks would have created something if I asked them too, but that's just a feeling not fact. I would have to say, I look forward to other visits to this place. I am not going to run to go back, but I am going to recommend this to out-of-towners and people looking for something a little bit different. Maybe when I go back I will find something new or different.

I didn't have any trouble finding Park Creek Kitchen because I went to middle school just around the corner.... but I don't disagree with Paul F. Navigating through Old Arlington can be quite a challenge for the uninitiated. As far as this location, I have seen many, many businesses come and go in this square. I would LOVE to see this new restaurant stay for a long, long time. It is absolutely wonderful! The overarching concept is farm-to-table, but they aren't in-your-face about it at all. Just a simple menu, with great options, all fresh, local and uniquely prepared. The signature dish is most likely the 'we three pigs' sandwich - a fried pork cutlet, bacon and pulled pork served on a hoagie roll with slaw served with root vegetable fries. Not exactly the picture of restraint, but certainly delicious, satisfying and messy. I adored the root vegetable fries - perfect consistency and flavor. I had the Farmer Salad which was mixed greens with sweet potato 'croutons', goat cheese and pistachios served with a carrot vinaigrette. Easily the best composed salad I've had in awhile and special enough to recommend as an entree. I opted to add roasted chicken for an extra $4. The chicken was moist and flavorful. Prices are incredibly reasonable - ranging from $7 to $26. Most items fall within the $12 - $16 range. You can easily be full spending a lot less than that. I plan to go back to get the housemade fried pickles that the table next to us was enjoying. I've also heard great things about their burgers - they grind their beef onsite. They do not serve wine or liquor, only beer. They have a good selection on tap and lots of bottles to choose from - I doubt you'll miss the wine.

Cold grits and bad mussels. Cocktails were terrible. Lady next to us sent her salmon back twice. Never going back.

I had actually written a review previously, but don't see it anymore. If you look on there website, it paints a totally different picture of what this restaurant really is. It's a very small space for winter time dining. Of course they have the outdoor patio. The food was horrible, our server tried to make it right but unfortunately the chef/owner did not want to do so and make us happy. He was very rude to our party and we will not be back.

Went for dinner tonight with my wife and another couple. Cocktails were mediocre at best. Mine was the "Old Fashion" which was overly watered down with soda. My wife's Bloody Mary was was ok. Not spicy Nacho appetizer was decent if not a bit cold. Two of us ordered fish tacos and they smelled like rotten fish. Sent them back while the other two people finished their meals before we got replacements. Had chicken sandwich which was pretty good. Wife's order of fried chicken wasn't too bad. Ordered coffee and blackberry cobbler, coffee arrived not hot but cobbler was quite good. For "inconvenience" of fish tacos, we got free coffee. Odd choice in service recovery. Won't be back.

Well, we tried to order a cocktail. The bartender/server said they don't really do cocktails. (First we asked for something fruity, then something with vodka). The hamburger I ordered well-done was medium well at best. It was so incredibly salty that I didn't want to finish it. The "root vegetable fries" were average. We were the only table when we arrived for dinner, with one guy that worked there sitting at the bar. The ambiance was definitely not one for "going out". Overall, it was just average. A better $8 than McDonald's, but wouldn't drive back there to go again.

I really loved the food. We had bruschetta, burgers, salad, mac & cheese and bread pudding. One of the better burgers I've had and the bruschetta was really great. The pricing was pretty high though. The waiter was really nice, not all together but nice.

How is this place still in business. The meanest, rudest staff ever. Wish this place was nicer because I live close and would love to frequent it but they are just too rude. So I say yuck to this place. Don't go. Hate mean people.

Park Creek... The food is fantastic and the people are great. Service is very good. Great selection of apps and your primary entree is cooked to order and amazing. I had the pub steak, cooked perfectly. Burger was also excellent. Please come visit this hidden gem in UA. Great food without the pretentious atmosphere. Great for foodies and just anyone who wants a great meal, fresh products and great service. My hats off to the chef! Will be back for the seafood for sure, sea bass please. Can't wait to try the fried chicken. Thanks again great experience and will be back!

Just discovered Park Creek Kitchen this winter...and today was my fifth visit. So, clearly, I like the place. My first visit was on a pretty snowy day and the restaurant was very empty. I went with a girlfriend and we were almost the only people in the place. I had called ahead to make sure I could order food that was gluten-free and told the server again when we arrived. Just making sure. Not only could they accommodate me, the server informed me that if I wanted the meatloaf, the chef could do it without gluten. He made sure I understood that they may not always be able to do that particular dish gluten-free, but that evening they could. Well, how nice is that?? I'll tell you. Very nice. There wasn't a crumb left on my plate. Or my friend's. We also had Kentucky Longshots as our beverages. Really yummy. Since that first visit, I've tried the burgers, a pork dish (the special) and a fish dish. I've had the stuffed jalapenos, the root vegetable fries, and a salad. I've dined with people who have had the fried chicken, the short ribs, and the Roman pressed chicken. Not one dish to complain about on five visits. All was good, filling, and my special dietary needs were accommodated. Tonight, my husband and I had another terrific meal. Our server was Stephanie. She was terrific. Jeff (owner and chef) came out to talk a bit. We enjoyed hearing about how the restaurant has been doing, his philosophy about food, and how they prepare and plan their menus. Plus, he was just super nice. Yum. Thanks, Park Creek Kitchen. See you soon!!

We've driven by this place 1,000 times and finally decided to meet some friends for dinner and wine. The inside is very quaint, dimly lit and romantic. Our waitress was very inviting and helpful and enjoyed her energy. I opted for the soup of the day- a warm Portuguese mushroom/sausage collaboration. Good but not worth $9. For the main course I had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken ($18) with Mac n Cheese and Green Beans drizzled lightly with honey. You get two pieces of perfectly cooked fried chicken with a light and crisp batter. The honey adds a delicious sweet richness to the chicken and the Mac and cheese. Highly recommend this dish. The rest of the table had burgers which they were all happy with and plates were clean. About $90/ couple was a little steep but the bottle of wine was $32 (cab). Will be back.

Park Creek Kitchen is an odd congregation of contradictions. There's definitely a neighborhood feel to the restaurant. Several people were greeted as regulars while we were dining. I could totally see a South of Lane UA dad putting on his hawaiian shirt, khakis and Keen Sandles (I swear I see variations of this outfit every time I'm out to dinner in Upper Arlington) and walking over for dinner with his family. It's in an interesting space, too--formerly a bank building. High concept entrees mix with classic sandwiches and burgers with varying outcomes. My etouffee was pretty good, my wife's crab cake was a bit bland but we both agreed the mac and cheese was outstanding. Smart decor (If you get seated towards the back of the front room you'll see the old bank vault--very cool) mixes with paper napkins and those nasty old chairs you see in fast food joints. And fantastic bartending mixes with some off the mark cocktails--my Woodford Reserve Manhattan was spot on (and strong--holy moly), but my wife's Lemon Drop was a big miss. Mainly, we were a little surprised by the price of our dinner--two drinks, one appetizer, two entrees and a side ended up being over $100 with tip. For that price, there are better options for a night out.

This is our go to place for going out to dinner in Upper Arlington. Food is always outstanding, great wine and beer selection, and the staff always greets us warmly and takes good care of us. We live in UA, and always take our friends from other parts of town here and they've never been disappointed. Very glad to have this in our neighborhood!

Love love love this place! The service is consistently great, the food local and fresh, and the drinks...a great selection! Don't miss the fried chicken - best I've had! The menu changes often so check their Facebook page. Parking wise - the restaurant is in the middle of Arlington but there is parking in front of the restaurant.

My sister and I went to Park Creek tonight for Restaurant Week. We started out with the pimento cheese stuffed bacon wrapped jalapenos and they were pretty good, but the filling did not taste much like pimento cheese. Next, we both had the mushroom bisque which was comforting but oddly served in a huge bowl that was only filled about a quarter of the way which made it kind of awkward to eat out of. For our entrees, I had the fried chicken with mac and cheese and braised green beans. The fried chicken was really juicy inside and super crispy on the outside. The braised green beans and mac and cheese were very good. My sister got the market fish (which was Cod tonight) with smoked potato puree and vegetables. The dish claimed to have a ginger jalapeno sauce but neither of us could taste the ginger or jalapeno in it. The smoked potato puree was delicious... I could have had just a bowl of that and been happy! We finished up with each getting the bourbon bread pudding which was okay. The description said it had a chocolate cream but all I could find were a few chocolate chips thrown on top of the bread pudding hiding under the vanilla ice cream. Park Creek charged $30 for their prix fixe menu, which was not worth it. The American Mule is definitely worth a try though!

there a such thing as "Soul food" fusion? After great debate for a couples' dinner, we decided on Park Creek Kitchen (well more like a few suggestions thrown out there). I was intrigued by the menu: seeing fried chicken and shrimp & grits entrees immediately makes me think soul food. The place is cute and unassuming. We sat outside since it was so nice. The service was kind of slow, but since we were among friends it was not a big issue. tried the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer; by themselves the tomatoes are lacking flavor and were not as firm as I'd like. With the pickled onions though it works. Just have to get it all on each bite. For entree I had the shrimp & grits. Lots of different flavors, when put all together a dynamite bite (a piece of the shrimp, cole slaw, and grits all together). My wife had the pork chop that supposedly had apple au jus. Either someone forgot the apple or it is misrepresented because there was no apple flavor at all. Her pork chop had char on the side so it really needed something sweet to counterbalance all that salty. Even with the pork chop failure, the place brings some serious flavor to the table.

Nice focus on local (Oyo and Watershed) and seasonal ingredients. Decor is simple and clean with lots of beautiful dark wood. Fair range of prices on dishes makes this somewhere for a relaxing weeknight dinner after work (there are several seats at the bar with two decent-sized TVs), a special occasion, or something in between. Root vegetable chips are a tasty stater. Bacon-wrapped shrimp and grits was a nice, filling main course, layered with cole slaw and an orange soda bbq sauce (the bbq sauce made me want to giggle-amusing when considering the title ingredient, but also just delicious).

There are certain menu items I have to have when I see them, and a "3 little pigs" sandwhich is one of them. My husband groaned thinking about the last ones I had that were a real let down, the downright disgusting ones at Hoggys, the dissapointing one at Milestone 229 that I had longed for for weeks, now FINALLY the chef at PCK hit this one out the ballpark!' The only problem was my son ordered it this time so I only got a couple bites, but that is my fault. I also enjoyed the fries made out of carrots, sweet potato and potatos, which I did not get, I had the salad. This was also very good, I loved the tomato vinagrette and hating tomatos that says alot. I had the northwest burger with mushrooms and onions which was also very good, just the 3 little pigs was even better! My husband had the house burger and I got the fried pickle which I also enjoyed. It really is more of an upscale bar than a restaurant since they only have about 6 tables but the food is very good. The entrees are pricey, so I recommend sticking with the sandwhiches and go on mondays, burger night where they are all $8 each instead of about $12. We also had the braised beef tacos, but they were really not worth mentioning, 2 tiny tacos with barely any meat and fries to go along with it which did not match at all. Save the tacos for another time, the rest is great.

Another tough debate for me between 3 and 4 stars! Darn you, Yelp! This place didn't blow us away, but it was above average for sure. Ate here on a beautiful summer evening with my husband and another couple. It was a Saturday night at 7:30 and the place was not even a quarter full. I guess this can be attributed to the fact that they aren't on a main drag of ANY kind! If you're looking for a "scene", or to be seen, Arlington's mallway is not it. However, Park Creek's patio is peaceful and well-appointed. They have fresh herb gardens lining the patio, and I could smell the mint and basil as we dined! Couldn't have asked for better ambience, and with free parking and no wait on a Saturday, we'll be back! Food: My hubs and I both had the fried chicken. PCK claims there is no better fried bird in Columbus. I agree it was good - very juicy on the inside, nice-sized portion, yummy honey drizzle on top. My issue was with the sides. I'm pretty sure it came atop a serving of Velveeta mac and cheese. Tasty, but not what I'd expect on my $18 chicken plate! And the braised green beans? I received exactly 5 beans. Finally, the chicken was sitting on the mac n cheese, and I had a real issue with this because the honey that was drizzled on the chicken engulfed my mac. So my mac just tasted like honey. Drinks: I'm pregnant and couldn't order one, but they had some delicious-sounding cocktails. I think their beers on tap situation was a mess the night we were there, because the server kept bringing people cans of Miller Lite. Overall, a nice place for a date, especially outdoors in the summer!

Last night, three friends and I were up for trying a new restaurant that none of us had ever been to before. We love trying new places in town! The occasion was to celebrate a birthday. Park Creek Kitchen was our destination. Upon arrival at 5:30 pm, I noted that the decor was rather "plain jane". It is always a plus when the atmosphere of a restaurant is pleasantly styled. It adds interest and substance to the entire experience and says to me that the restaurant "cares enough" to make me feel like I'm in a special place. This was not the case with Park Creek Kitchen. The waiter was very nice and did an excellent job taking care of us. Three out of the four of us ordered the fried chicken dinner, only to be told that they had sold out and only had one chicken dinner left. WHAT??? We arrived when they opened and they were sold out? Come on, Park Creek Kitchen. It was obvious that the "sold out" excuse would be more accurately stated as "we didn't do our job by checking inventory and supplying the kitchen with what was needed for the menu". If you had a menu with 10-15 entrees to choose from, this would not have been as big a deal, however it is a big deal when all you have are 5 entrees on your menu! I had difficulty selecting on of the other four entrees as they were not items that I would like. I selected one anyway and did not enjoy it . I left 2/3 of the over priced meal uneaten. This did not please me. I hoped that the "home made pastries" that you list on your website would help improve my negative experience. Well, not to be. You offered only two desserts, both of which were chocolate and neither of which were pastries. What's up with you, Park Creek Kitchen? Unfortunately, you put a major damper on our birthday celebration. You also did not prove to be a restaurant that we will ever return to. What a shame.

My wife and I really enjoyed this place, and I can't for the life of me understand why it was dead on a friday night at about 8pm.... That seems to be the usual based on the other reviews. But their house burger is solid, the bun is lightly toasted, meat cooked expertly. We had the mac n cheese and the root fries and the house salad, all very good. Maybe its a poor location for the type of clientele they are after? Easy parking right across the street and in a little area that would be great to walk around in and digest afterward. Prices for the sandwiches were very fair, some of the entrees seemed a little steep considering what they were but they did sound very good. We were just in the mood for a quick dinner before seeing a movie. The waitress was friendly and accommodating, seemed to know the menu well enough. We'll definitely be going back, just can't seem to figure out whats up with the low traffic.

Cute little spot in old Arlington. None of the food we had was mind blowing, but the but the patio was nice in warm weather, and the service was good, albeit we were the only ones there for a while.

YUMMMMM. I came with some family without ever prior hearing about this place or checking out the menu so I had no expectations whatsoever. I came out of this meal pleasantly surprised and probably will be back! We started with appetizers of fried pickles and popcorn. The fried pickles were soso for me (but i'm not a huge fan of pickles) and the popcorn was good-tossed with asiago cheese and truffle oil. I got the buttermilk fried chicken which came with mac n cheese and some greens. The chicken was well done ("good fried" as my little bro would say) but it needed a little more overall flavor. It was drizzled with honey which was a little bit of a turn off for me, I prefer my fried chicken savory and not sweet but it was still good (personal preference not the fault of the restaurant). Mac n Cheese was good but the greens seemed to be tossed with the lemon juice that made it really sour. Everyone else's meals were good - three little pigs sandwich with a side of truffled mashed potatoes, salad with seared sea scallops, vegetarian lasagna (needed to be heated up more but done with no problems). I love that they use local and organic produce. The only problem is that I got lost coming here, it's a bit of a maze if you're not used to U.A.

The staff and the customers were so friendly that we felt welcomed immediately. The "regulars" said these were the best burgers in town so i chose the northwest burger and was not disappointed As it was so Juicy and flavorful. The root veggies were yummy and delicious. I'd tried the deviled eggs based upon another yelp review and loved those as well - the garnish was like a small salad too which I enjoyed. Then my friend got the buttermilk chicken and Mac & cheese - both had a sweet flavor that was different and delicious. We were so full we couldn't order the freshly made banana cream pie or the peach cobbler. Their Ingredients are fresh and using great recipes like Jeff's grandmother's for the Mac & cheese, we felt we found a local winner. We hope to return often as the menu and specials keep changing. Thanks for a fun evening Jeff !

Great patio, attentive service. I had the smoked chicken sandwich, it was good, not up there with the best I've ever had, but good. My husband had the fried chicken which was super crispy on the outside, moist&juicy on the inside. It was great, came served atop mac&cheese which was also fabulous. Looks like they have specials Monday-Thursday(Tuesday was Wine for $4 a glass). My only complaint was my salad was under dressed. I don't like it to be dripping, but I would have liked a little more.

If you're a foodie, respect the farm-to-table, locally-sourced movement, and have a craving for some very well-done, nouveau American comfort food (with some added and creative twists), then you gotta stop by Park Creek Kitchen! ... YUM!

First timer for dinner. Overall service was good. Bar staff great. Interior was pretty dark and poorly lit. Not dim for mood setting, just poor lighting. Interior design was lame. Thrown together pieces and parts. (Cheap looking) Menu is a bit limited but its a small place so that doesn't bother me. I'd assume a condensed menu means a chef is good at what they're serving. Unfortunately, the entree I ordered, fish tacos, was not very good. Not much flavor, too little fish and too much tortilla. Side dish was an order of french fires which actually was soggy sweet potato fries. Overall all, I was disappointed. Was really hoping for more. I will give it another shot but this first experience was not good.

A very comfortable restaurant with excellent food. As many others have stated there is no better fried chicken, with no grease at all. And seafood and steaks are outstanding as well. This chef may not be as well-known as others in central Ohio, but is simply outstanding. We will be dining here regularly.

Now I am a southern lady , so I hate to say not so nice things , and pray my momma never finds out what yelp us but......... Staff great very welcomeing and helpful, the dinning room , tiny yes but very well decorated and the use the space they had, was good. But enough let's get to the star the food. As many, I went with the fried chicken , over 10$ I thought hay this is going to be yum yum good Wrong, I paid 17$ for 2 thighs , first mistake park creek that's just wrong juciy yes but with a fried skin that had not a bit of taste nothing I tried o find it , zilch , the honey was a nice touch , but if you ain't got no taste ain't nutting gona help you there. Next Mac and cheese , I had flash backs to dorm room dinners , wow Watered down shells and cheese ain't my way of yumminess And the mash pot, I truly think that was box flakes Now just cause I was born in the south and grew up on fried everything might not give me a good reason to judgeor maybe having 3 chefs in the family might count just a bit, or cause I am that girl in the gym ever am cause I love love love to do the yumm dance Y'all I love food , I love love love it and this place needs to look around I pretty sure you can go around the corner to Canes and get better cuts of meat and some actuly taste for 1/2 the price. Please try better PCK

First of all, GREAT service. I swear I think customer service is dead, and then I go someplace like PCK and my faith is restored. The menu looked good-- I love a rotating, fresh, small menu. From reviews I'd read, the dishes were a little more 'everyday' than I was expecting, but that's totally fine. Well-executed food is always good; no need to reinvent the wheel. Still, though, sometimes I am reluctant to order things I could (or would) make at home. I got a corn and crab chowder, and the park creek salad (bacon, eggs, yum). Both were very good. The interior was also a little more casual than I was expecting after glancing at their website. In this case, that was a good thing. I chose the location for a date with a person I don't really know-- so I was relieved it wasn't too fancy-schmancy. Casual, clean, modern. Back to the service: Everyone was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. I always appreciate not being asked if I need anything every 5 minutes. I don't like being ignored either. I got there around 7:15 and had a glass of wine at the bar first. The bartender asked if I wanted water with my wine. This seems like such a simple thing-- but I often forget to ask for water with my alcohol. It was very thoughtful of him to suggest helping my kidneys. Anyway. I got there at 7:15 and it was pretty crowded. There were fewer tables than I thought there'd be. I snagged a table, which wasn't too difficult despite the bustle. Still, the joint was cleared out by 8. We were the only ones in the restaurant, and I felt bad for being the only ones there. The staff did a great job of trying to make us feel comfortable--assuring that we weren't being annoying by hanging around. I was still glad when some other customers came in... and the staff greeted them with friendly gusto and really did not seem to mind late seatings in the least.

Whew! Finding my way to and from this restaurant was quite a challenge even with MapQuest. But I made it and I'm glad I did. And not everyone seemed to have the same problem because the place was packed and I ended up sitting at the bar. The menu is short and sweet. I asked the bartender what he'd recommend and he suggested the flounder. It came with root vegetables and mashed potatoes. The vegies were cooked perfectly, as was the fish. I don't recall having had flounder before but this was very good. For dessert, I had their "mile high chocolate cake" and brought about half of it home with me. BTW, this location is the same that Arlington Meatballs used. Too bad they're gone but they've found a suitable replacement. Note, the phone number for this restaurant is 725-3964, not the number listed!

Park Creek Kitchen is a hidden gem! My husband and I are always looking for new places and we lucked out when we found Park Creek. We started with the winter vegtable chips (sweet potatoe and idaho potatoe) with avacado goat cheese dip. And for dinner he had the fried chicken and I had the short ribs. We both cleaned our plates. Everything was tasty. It is a small place so make a reservation or call ahead. If not there is a nice bar and tasty snacks to keep you happy while you wait. The server/manager was very friendly. We will for sure be coming back!

What an underrated, off the radar restaurant. Can't believe I haven't eaten here earlier. Had their small house salad to start off with which was good but I've ha better house salads. For my main I had the sweet potato ravioli with fresh vegetables of the day. They ended up being carrots and I think parsnips. Also topped with walnuts. No bacon as listed on the menu but honestly it didn't need it and probably would have ruined the dish. I can be weird about cooked carrots but these were just barely cooked and then grilled. Wow. So much flavor and the perfect amount of crunch. My meal felt like the perfect balance of indulgent (ravioli/pasta) with healthy (huge chunks of fresh veggies). The sauce was light - I'm thinking buttery sage. You wont miss cheese or meat with this dish! my dining partner was my step dad who really indulged with the fried chicken. He said it wasn't good and it didn't look that appetizing to me in comparison to my meal. the only time I've ever ordered $18 fried chicken was at the pearl and really wasn't worth it. It's my rule of thumb - no fried chicken at places serving so many other better dishes. He ate about half his plate so I took the rest home for leftovers. I tried it the next day not expecting much but wow I've never found myself nibbling away on fried chicken skin (recrisped in the toaster oven of course). A lovely blend of sweet and savory. Mac n cheese was alright. The green beans were super crisp and tasty. Service was perfect. No problems and we were in an out within an hour on a Friday evening. Their patio could use some sprucing up as it's rather sparse. I'd consider some colorful, patterned, mismatching seat cushions and flower and plant pots. If you need a break from noisy patio dining and want a delicious farm/garden to table meal, check this place out!

My partner and three friends and I dined at Park Creek last night for my 36th birthday. Based on the reviews on Yelp, we were really looking forward to this meal in a lovely area of Upper Arlington. I wish we could say the restaurant lived up to our expectations but unfortunately that was far from the case. Located in an older but chic section of Upper Arlington next to a clothing boutique and a custard place, we liked the cozy feel of the restaurant upon entering. The wine and beer menu was decently selected; I sampled the Red Rock wine, which was lovely for it's $8/glass price. My friends were also happy with their wine selections. We sampled three appetizers - the buttermilk fried calamari, the spiced popcorn and the margarita pizza. All three were fine but I was not super impressed with any of them. $5 for popcorn with cheese and truffle oil? It was tasty but should have been half that price. And I suppose I'm a bit of a traditionalist - green olives simply do not belong on a margarita flatbread. The restaurant also seemed to be woefully short of certain ingredients. We were told throughout the evening that the restaurant was out of he following things on the menu - the pork carnitas for the carnitas tacos on the appetizer menu; the marinated California olives; avocado (yes, avocado) for the club sandwich, and ice cream to accompany the chocolate lava cake at the end of the meal. They somehow managed to scrounge the ice cream for the dessert but the rest of the items were MIA. The farmers salad that myself and a friend had was very nice - the crispy sweet potato croutons were a lovely addition and the round of goat cheese in the center of the salad gave it that perfect something. The main courses were a different story. Three of us had the buttermilk fried chicken and we were all completely underwhelmed by this dish. While it looked fantastic on the plate, both the fried chicken and the mac and cheese were woefully under-seasoned; the meal simply tasted bland. The chicken for one friend was not completely cooked and needed to be returned to the kitchen. Another friend raved about the late summer tomato soup that she selected said it was "superb". We ordered two desserts - the chocolate lava cake (which came out slightly burned on the bottom) and the cheesecake with blueberry topping. The topping clearly came from a can of blueberry pie filling and did nothing to enhance the mediocre cheesecake. The best part of the entire meal was the service. Our waiter was prompt and friendly and issued no objection when my friend returned her meal to the kitchen for being undercooked. I can't say we'll be trying Park Creek again anytime soon. Unless they are going to revamp their offerings, make sure that they don't run out of ingredients for half the items on their menu and learn how to season the main dishes properly I cannot imagine this location surviving long at the price points they currently charge. Next time, I'm sticking with Cap City Diner for my local comfort food fix.

The fried chicken is out of this world!!! Best fried chicken I have ever had. My husband ordered a steak burger and it was perfectly cooked and delicious. We were licking our plates!! Service was great and very friendly. Only recommendation I have for the owner is that the restaurant itself could use a little polishing and ambiance. But overall, a great little gem!!

We went to Park Creek Kitchen for Restaurant Week last January and this is an account of that trip. I had never heard of Park Creek Kitchen before, but I read that it is a farm to table in the middle of a residential area in Upper Arlington. It got some conflicting reviews on yelp, but I liked their menu choices and my husband liked that they were serving bread pudding. So it became our first choice. We went in the middle of the week when it was blisteringly cold. The restaurant was dark inside and there were not many diners inside--only two tables full. My first impression was that they were trying to be a "fancy" restaurant, but were still very rough around the edges. The waitress was very friendly. I ordered the mushroom bisque, the market fish with pureed potatoes and roasted vegetables, and roasted peanut butter pie. He got the salad, fried chicken with macaroni cheese, and bread pudding (as expected). I always try to choose places where we can get different things for dessert and share them. All of the food tasted really good. The mushroom soup was very mushroomy and warmed me up after walking in from the parking area. It was weird that it was garnished with popcorn--I even found an unpopped kernel in the soup. The fish was seasoned nicely and I liked the "pureed" potatoes underneath (these were really mashed potatoes, but I guess they were a little creamier than most?). My husband enjoyed all of his selections. I liked that his salad had goat cheese and I thought the chicken was very moist. Dessert was fine, but nothing to brag about.

An eclectic, high quality restaurant in a former bank building in a strip of shops (probably thought of as "shoppes") along Arlington Ave. in Upper Arlington? Yes! I have only been on week nights, but the food and service were outstanding. The menu, by necessity for such a small and specialized place, has a few nightly specials and a few staples. Check out their menus online and decide which night suits you best for your first visit. We picked burger night on Monday and were not disappointed. (The fries are root vegetables, not just potatoes, and even though I am a kids' menu eater at heart, they were great and went with the super fresh burgers.) Smallish bar area with a selection of craft brews, cocktails, and mainstream drinks for the less adventurous. Well worth a trip to the suburbs, Park Creek is truly one of those hidden gem restaurants that may work its was onto your favorites list. Do I miss the Whit's Yogurt place that used to be here? Of course, but it's still available on High Street in the Short North. Do I miss the bank that used to be here? Yes, because I am one of those people who misses a bank. But Park Creek takes the sting out of Old Arlington changing because it's such a solid addition to the city's culinary index.
