Poor service tonight Saturday 10-25. First time I have dined and dashed since high school and I'm 52! A 6:30 dinner reservation that ended with us walking out because server never checked on us. Water glass sat empty since salad was served. Quasi was our server and after dropping salads off never came back to check on us. Other served dropped off entrees. The pork chop ended up to be raw in places and after watching female manager(?) wait on table next to us( served them champaign) and never once looked over to see two unhappy guests with empty glasses with half eaten food and looking to get attention. Poor service all around except for hostess that sat us and poured water. Felt bad walking out but apparently management was not doing it's job either.

Good food, but a very long wait. We had ridiculously terrible service. I recommend to not come here. Not worth the time. Two stars on arnold weekend for the two stars we saw. Hulk hogan and Holyfield. We got our meal for free. Thug life.

On our visit to these great city we couldn't let pass this place recommended by a friend. The beet salad with goat cheese was heavenly and all our dinner was exquisit. Great service . A +

We came here for after dinner desserts and they did it disappoint. We got the chef's whim and it was AMAZING! It included the creme brûlée, apple torte I believe and a chocolate peanut butter something. Holy amaze balls!!! The chef came out and did everything at the table for us and he was awesome. We especially loved his artichoke tattoo! We hope to come back soon and actually try dinner.

This wonderful restaurant is located on the 2nd floor atrium of the Hilton. The decor is modern and elegant. The food was delicious! What really sets this place apart is the service. The staff is warm, friendly, professional, and attentive.

The bar is great for happy hour! It goes until 7, so as someone who actually works until 6, I thank you!! The deal is half-priced drinks and appetizers from the bar menu. Love it. The poutine is great and the gruyere gougeres are stupidly delicious. The atmosphere is chic but very comfortable. I would definitely like to come back. While the main restaurant's menu intrigues me (I have a roasted bone marrow obsession), it's just a little too pricy to just go there on a whim. However, I'm glad to have it as an option in Columbus.

Started out well, but losing luster fast. I ate here the week after it opened, and have eaten here a couple of dozen times since, as I frequently stay in the hotel. What began as a notable attempt to break out of the "hotel restaurant" malaise has recently been slip-sliding down the slope toward mediocrity. A case in point is how the kitchen is proffering mussels. Originally a great value with three distinctive sauces, the portion size has diminished, there's only one style of sauce, and the little gratis French fries have disappeared and now you pay for them a la carte. Can you say less for more? But they have a $20 hamburger, if that's your thing. It's not bad, as long as you're in for the double sawbuck. I think I'm done. Service has always been a little spotty, and now the food is on the backside of the hill going down.

Can I review this if I didn't go in? I mean, I parked out front and Sweetie brought me leftovers, so that's like carryout, right? Sweetie went to an alumni gathering here, and I was DD. It is inside the Hilton, and since it's on the edge of Downtown and the Short North traffic was of course crazy on a Saturday night. When I picked her up she surprised me with half of her burger, The Ohio Burger. I'm not sure what made it Ohio-related, but it was an excellent burger: good bun, perfect burger, great bacon, fresh toppings. Everything worked well together. There was also a nice salad with greens and almonds. Her impression of the place: good, but frou-frou. She passed on dessert because it all looked too trendy, no classics, and said that was true of the rest of the menu too. So if you like that kind of stuff, have at it. Of course, they did do a pretty good classic burger too, so...

This review is for the happy hour in the bar area. I came here after work with a group of 8, and we seated ourselves at a long table in the bar area. Several tables around us seemed to have dedicated servers, so we waited about 10 minutes. No servers appeared, so half of our party went to the bar and got some drinks. After waiting another 5 minutes or more for service, two of us finally went to the bar as well, and were intercepted by the gentleman who was supposedly our server. He came to the table to take additional drink and appetizer orders. We were told that all our items were to be placed on one card to open a tab, and could be separated out later (what?) which we were not entirely pleased about. About 20 minutes later, we had a new server who arrived at our table, and was helpful. We never saw the original server back at the table after that. Our drinks were delicious, and half off during happy hour (4-7pm). The two signature cocktails I had, Honey Lavender Blossom and Blueberry Barrel, were both really strong and tasty. From the select appetizers, I had the Gruyere Gourgeres (MUST GET THIS) and the poutine, but the poutine was lukewarm. They also have $5 well drinks, and half off beer and wine. At the end, we had to write down on the receipt who had what items, and essentially break up the bill ourselves in order to pay. The happy hour prices were great, but I was surprised and disappointed by the sub-par service and mediocre appetizers. I would come back for the drinks.

This review is for the bar only. I came here for a few drinks one night. Drinks were strong, and they seemed to have some interesting cocktail options, though I didn't try them. Service was good. Our bartender was very friendly. My only complaints are 1) It's on the second floor and when you come into the hotel there is no sign telling you how to find it. Therefore you have to ask someone, which is annoying. 2) The bartop itself is small. It wasn't busy when I was there so I guess that doesn't really matter to me, but I could see it being an issue. There are plenty of tables in the bar area to sit at.

I strongly recommend......FOIE GRAS AU TORCHON It looks pretty and taste pretty darn good. Make sure you include a little bit of everything in 1 bite for full blast of awesomeness. We also had their mussels- good but the foie gras au torchon is tastier I also recommend the Duck Duet- it was perfect, the red cabbage marmalade is yummy. Side dishes wise- I don't recommend the house made frites, the dipping sauce tasted better than the frites.

I like Gallerie, but it doesn't blow me away. The food is solid. Great salads, inventive entrees, well mixed drinks. What really kills it for me is the service. I know that hotels tend to have slower service, but Gallerie seems to really take the cake. When seated with a large party, they don't seem to staff more than one server for the entire group (in one example, a group of 12). For a small group, the service is inattentive. The happy deals are great, but the bar staff is so slow and so inattentive that I no longer even try to stop by after work. In my opinion, Martini has a better happy hour, better food, and much better service.

Fall has come to the Gallerie!! I come in ever so often to try all the new items they have and today for Halloween desserts were on my mind. They just came out with a new dessert menu and how can I resist. The Candy Apple Bread pudding was both pretty on the eyes and for my sweet tooth. This new dessert is any apple lovers dream dessert! And if your a coffee buff instead of ordering a drink I got the Espresso Créme Brulee. Can't wait to come again and try the Buckeye and the pumpkin spice macaroons.

The bar area has an unbeatable happy hour (4-7 1/2 off cocktails and select appetizers). Friendly staff, very chic atmosphere - the hotel is also amazing, if you can afford to stay, do. Anyway, get the high st fizz. GET THE POUTINE. It's phenomenal. Not your average poutine because it has pieces of brisket throughout. Omg. To die for. Also, the ahi tuna tacos are great. I have only gone to the bar area here, which is a good size. Boyfriend and I considered the restaurant for our anniversary, but it's super pricey and very "bourgeois". Looks really nice, though!

So I really have 2 reviews in one. Dinner was wonderful best roasted chicken I have had In my life. Morning skip it. We stayed at hotel and decided to eat there for breakfast because we saw it was dead. However, we had to wait 10 minutes for an empty buffet restaurant. Then we had to wait another 10 minutes to watch the server serve the table after us. So we left. We checked out and told the front desk lady what happen. She was like I could give vouchers for breakfast. We declined. Since we did not get served the first time. We went to the skillet in German village. Go there.

Lunch was normal, nothing fancy. BUT, if you are hanging out in the bar, try the tuna taco. Pretty excellent. Dessert is super over-priced. So, I'd rather order another tuna taco.

The menu is very limited, the prices are somewhat on the high side, and the quality is not commensurate with the high price. All this is understandable in a hotel restaurant, but that's not why I disliked this restaurant. What really impressed me (and not in a good way) was the slow and smarmy service. I went with a small group (seven of us total) for lunch at a time when the restaurant was not very busy. We sat for several minutes before an initial visit from the waiter. When he did finally arrive he was brusque and not entirely friendly. (I can tolerate a certain amount of this if other aspects of the service are especially good, such as when the waiter really demonstrates extraordinary skill or is dealing with a difficult situation. This was not one of times.) The most appalling moment came when one of my colleagues, who is a vegetarian, inquired about the vegetarian options. The waiter responded by poking at my friend's menu with the back of his pen, saying "you can get this (poke) without the ham, or this (poke) without the chicken, or this (poke) without the tuna." I recommend that you avoid this place at lunch. You can do far better at any number of places that are within easy walking distance of the Hilton.

This was our first time here. The architecture and design was breathtaking. It was a restaurant situated within the Hilton in downtown Columbus. The ambience was very nice. We had drinks at the bar, which had a chill environment. The food was delicious. We had ordered the Braised Lamb Shank and the King Crab Tagliatelle with mussels and Lobster Bisque to start. The mussels we devoted in seconds and the lobster bisque was rich and creamy. The lamb shank literally feel off the bone. It was really tender. The pasta was creamy and had big pieces of crab. The cocktails we had ordered at the bar were delicious, so we ordered more. We had the Amelie (sweet and fruity) and the Honey Lavender. All in all, it was a great experience. A good date restaurant.

The food here is very good with some of it being excellent. The service is average which is a shame because the ambiance is a bit awkward. If the servers step it up it could really add to the overall experience of the great food offered. I am not going to say the service was bad but it was just average. I would give the food a strong 4/5, some of it a 4.5/5. The service a 2/5-2.5/5. I recommend coming though for the food!

I've been to the new Hilton's dining room twice now - the food is good, not great (or particularly interesting), and the service is the same. The waiters I've had are fine - reasonably attentive, prompt, although maybe a bit awkward. Nondescript would be the best way to describe the staff. The decor is great - it manages to feel like you're sitting in a cafe among skyscrapers without being outside. The ceiling-less design really is the best part about this place. The food was fine - I've had the lobster roll and the turkey-brie sandwich. Both were passable versions of each, nothing too great, but nothing particularly objectionable. The ingredients on the sandwich were improperly distributed, resulting in non-uniform bites, and the lobster roll just kind of lacked flavor, but the fries were crisp and tasty. I'd come here for a client lunch or business lunch, but when I want a special, tasty, soul-satisfying lunch, I'll go elsewhere.

This is a tough review to write since we went here on Calentin's Day. Consequently, it was not the typical menu or day. That said, the soup and the appetizers were quite tasty. For days I looked forward to having the steak frites as the main course. It is on the regular menu and was listed on the Valentine's menu as well. Alas, the steak frites had nothing to do with actual steak frites. It was a fillet minion with roasted potatoes in a sauce. Not bad, but not what we expected. Other than that, an enjoyable evening.

I got the duck confit - way too salty. I could do without hypertension. The appetizer mussels were pretty standard, and several of the mussels were closed - ie dead and inedible. My friends Ohio Amish chicken was alright, but nothing to write home about. I expect more when paying $25 for a chicken dish.

Let me just start by saying that our server, Yana was excellent. The manager, who took our first order of wine was initially nice. Though we waited for some time, the good was good. We had absolutely no complaints...until we received our bill. Mind you, we ordered hamburgers and wings. We pointed out a silver label bottle of Cabernet Sauv. It wasn't until we received our bill that we realized we were given a silver Oak - which was $100.00 more than what we requested. After two bottles, we would have never imagined that the manager would INSIST that her presentation of an INCORRECT bottle of wine was supposed to be a confirmation of receipt of the correct product. Having eaten at nicer restaurants, I've never even been served the incorrect bottle. Feeling that the blame would go back to our server who wasn't even responsible, we almost paid the full tab; it was the offense that was taken that absolutely would have caused me to argue it had it not been corrected. I stress again that the manager who later changed her clothes, was the initial person to take and serve the wine order. Not feeling bad about the stars I'm giving this review as I am reading that others have shared a similar experience. I can only hope our excellent server suffered no repercussion, even asking us to visit again. I will only to see her extended employment! This disappointment aside, I hope I can later change my review by giving this place a second chance. Thank you Yana for the wonderful service. :)

Well, Gallerie is "a French restaurant wins award for burgers". So you know how French it is. But at least I love their award-winning Ohio/Buckeye burgers which have blueberry sauce in there making the patty more juicy! I thought blueberry sauce would overrun the entire taste/tone of the burger, however, it turns out that it compliments the burger perfectly! Could be a good choice if you are staying in Hilton Columbus Downtown since it is their in-house restaurant!

So basically, my wife and I were unable to be together for our wedding anniversary due to travel plans. It was a bummer, but we told ourselves we would definitely celebrate as soon as schedules allowed. With 3 children, it's not an easy feat. But, we finally set a date and chose Hilton Downtown to celebrate. Not only did they go above and beyond, they outdid themselves more than any hotel we've ever stayed at as far as service goes. I cannot thank them enough for making our special celebration a memorable one that we will definitely be telling friends and family about for years to come.

usually go to bar for happy hour for great appetizer's (mussels and poutine and charcuterie are awesome!) and 50% off drinks. I ordered Manhattan after inquiring about what drinks are half off. When i was asked what bourbon I would like, I answered Woodford. When check came I was charged full price for Manhattan as apparently only "well" liquors are 50% off. Bartenders were unpleasant and not attentive. Too many other options in Cbus with great food and great service

1.5 lb of Mussels in 1 of 6 ways - $18! Get the Creme Brulee for desert. I rate this place over Rigsby's and Deepwood. Still missing the Burgundy Room.

I always approach hotel restaurants with some trepidation, and it was primarily because of the other Yelp reviews that I decided to give Gallerie a try. It was also a block and a half from my hotel, so the location was right. The service here was both friendly and impeccable. The hostess was very personable; Thomas, the server, was both knowledgeable and provided just the right amount of attention; and the chef came out to meet me after I finished my entree, which was a nice touch. But what really matters is the food right? I started with the scallop and foie gras, which was delicious. I have a soft spot for foie gras since I can no longer order it in San Francisco (except perhaps one place). All of the flavors on the plate were very well matched and I was impressed. I continued with the chicken entree, which was also amazing. The server informed me that it is the restaurant's best known dish and it is apparent why. It takes skill to make a simple chicken entree be noticeable, but the way the skin was just a bit crispy was great and went well with the cauliflower puree it rested in, along with the gruyere puffs. After cleaning both of my plates, I still had room for dessert, which speaks to their portions being well-sized for really enjoying a full three course meal as opposed to having Cheesecake Factory sized dishes where you're full by the time your entree arrives. For dessert I ended up having the creme brulee french toast, with the house torched marshmallow and blackberry ketchup, it was a perfect end to the meal. Apparently this is an experiment for Hilton, allowing the chef to set his own menu and Gallerie has proven it is worthy of this freedom. Thomas described it as a restaurant that happens to be in a hotel, rather than a hotel restaurant. I think that is an accurate description, and I hope to be back in the near future.

My boyfriend and I went here for Valentine's day and everything we got was delicious! We got the cheese platter (mostly for fun, we figured we'd only like one of them) and they were all delicious! Then I got a salad which was great and he got the soup. He said it was one of the best he'd had. For our main course I got the bone marrow appetizer and it was SO GOOD. I've never had bone marrow but I thought I'd be adventurous and get it and it was awesome! I was only able to eat one bone so I took the other two home and honestly eating it reheated by frying it in the pan for a bit wasn't bad! He got the duck and said it was cooked perfectly, which isn't too common. The ambiance is really nice. They have a great layout. I want to go to the bar sometime in the future. I would definitely recommend coming here. And you should force yourself to be fun and try the bone marrow.

Just not great. Disappointing. Went for cocktails and apps before dinner at The Pearl. Here are my 2 cents: COCKTAILS: I had one of the specialty cocktails first... the one with gin (second from the top, can't remember the name). It was $12 and I'm telling you, there was not a lick of alcohol in it. I actually jokingly said to our waitress, "does the potion of whatever-sweet-mixer-is-in-here actually negate the taste of the alcohol?" Waste of money. Had a dirty martini after that - and you know a good restaurant when they can make a good dirty. This was not a good dirty. APPS: We got the Oysters. Actually had to send them back, as in, we thought we might get sick if we ate them. A few were gritty - most just tasted like something was wrong with 'em. Disappointed because this place was touted in write-ups for em. Maybe it was an off-night, but the oysters at Ocean Club are about 900x better. SERVICE: A little shoddy. Our girl was sweet but not very attentive, and they weren't that busy. I would maybe try it one more time, but it just didn't really give us a good reason to come back.

What. A. Gem. My experience was a bit more unique than a typical dining visit but that's what made it beyond special. A friend of mine organized a group of 21 of her friends from different facets of her life. We had a private room, two servers and even a special cocktail for our evening...I said...s-p-e-c-i-a-l c-o-c-k-t-a-i-l...so, yes, in love with Gallerie. The cocktail was delicious, the service was impressive and the food was to die for. Really! I ended up there during restaurant week but opted to skip the prix fixe menu. Our server Tom was very honest about the menu options and explained his favorites and his not-so-favorites. So with that in mind I got a cheeseboard, because...cheese and the Amish Chicken. Tom completely sold me on the Amish Chicken. He explained it's the reason the chef is Gallerie's chef. The cheeseboard and the chicken were very enjoyable. Impressive flavors, melt-in-your-mouth textures, relaxing atmosphere and outstanding service will keep me coming back. It could have been a little bit warmer in our room, but it is winter in Columbus, I guess. Maybe I should have worn sleeves...? Nah, it was a Saturday night! I don't think I can say enough about Tom. He was genuinely interested in making sure we all had a fantastic evening. Even with a huge group on a Saturday night downtown our courses came out surprisingly quickly. He even followed all of us out of the private room into the dining area to take a photo of the group...so nice! Like I said...what a gem!

Interesting choice of restaurant to place in the Hilton hotel. This is a French/American food place (more American than French)... it attempts to be fancy... but is only okay at the end of the day. There's nothing off putting about the food per se... but everything was just... a little off for me... both in the food... and sometimes in the service. Ate here twice for dinner during my stay at the Hilton and ate breakfast here three times. The dinner... did not impress. The breakfast... well... standard for most Hilton hotels. There isn't much that sets it apart and the options are more limited than most places I've been to. We had the beet carpaccio... which is interesting to say the least. Interesting concept... execution... well... let's just say I'm not sure it was worth the $11 (there wasn't a whole lot there). And I'm saying this even though I didn't have to pay a single cent for the meal (company comped). There's something about Ohio and goat cheese... it was in almost every meal I ate... and they use an excessive amount, which overpowers the rest of the meal. Not sure if that was their intention or not. That and the assumption that throwing arugula into anything instantly makes it fancier. Had the rabbit pappardelle for dinner one night, but the flavors kind of blended all together. Couldn't really tell if it was rabbit or not (I'm sure it was... but it was kind of buried in everything else). The serving was reasonably large and the pasta was done al dente, which was good... there was just something off about it... and I couldn't really finish it. Maybe it was too rich for me... I don't know. The duck duet was better. I'm a huge fan of duck, especially when it's done right. And this dish was a much better choice than the rabbit. The serving portion was also pretty generous (I couldn't finish it), but it was much more palatable in general. They had bread at the table too, but it was nothing to write home about. Didn't seem particularly fresh. The desserts are a bit of a disappointment. I know they were touting their crème brûlée, but it sounded...much too heavy after our meals. The first time we got the macarons (it says macaroon on their menu, but don't be fooled!)... sorely disappointed. My boss and i didn't even make it through one of them... and there were three...we argued with the waiter a bit on the subtle difference between macaron and macaroon but the chef insisted, that it was the French version of the macaron... which would make sense had they used the French spelling instead of the English word. But I digress. The whole dessert was a bit too sweet for me... and even though they were made correctly, it just didn't sit right for me. My boss was extremely disappointed that they didn't remove it off our bill (even though we weren't paying for it). The breakfast is basic. They have things like small pastries, steel cut oats, cereals, your standard breakfast fare (sausage/eggs/pancakes), yogurt, some fruit (pineapple, honeydew, and cantaloupe), and a variety of juices. The pancakes were extremely overdone (like rubber, my boss says), everything was just okay in general. You can get omelets made to order if you'd like; their waffle is a much better option to the pancakes. Service in general was definitely more miss. They seemed to pay a lot of attention to certain diners (VIP status maybe?) and completely ignore other ones (like us). Took forever to get water refills, their attention for minor items (like honey), and even longer to bring out some basic things. On the whole, most of the staff was friendly, but it just didn't quite hit the mark for a place that is supposed to be pretty fancy. The whole place tries to be top notch, but like the hotel, it still has a bit to go before I would consider this outside of standard hotel food.

Gallerie Bar & Bistro is a beautiful space in a gorgeous hotel and has a lot of potential. It's only a 3-star for the time being but hopefully will work through its growing pains and become great. We went the night before their grand opening so everything and everyone was new, and it showed. The menu reads really well and I think with a few tweaks it will be great. The service is excellent although not seasoned. Everyone who came to the table was friendly and earnest but not particularly knowledgeable. That takes time though so not a problem. People can learn the menu and wine list but you can't teach them to have a great attitude and they did. The wine list needs some serious work. Of the more than 50 wines on the list, 28 were over $100 (quite a few into the multiple hundreds). There were precisely 5 bottles under $50, and none of those much under. I'm not afraid to spend money on a nice bottle of wine but this is ridiculous and a little offensive. We actually chose a very nice bottle that was in the $55 or so range and it was excellent. One note though, the bottle that arrived was a different vintage than what was on the list. This isn't really a big deal (unless you're buying one of those $700 bottles on the list) but how does this happen in a place that has only been open for 2 weeks? For our appetizer we ordered the sweet breads. We were a bit let down for a couple reasons. The sweet breads themselves were in very large chunks. They are better in smaller, bite-size pieces so that the breading is more prevalent in each bite. The way they were served was off in texture. They were also not hot nor properly seasoned. By the way this is when we learned that the salt grinder on our table was completely empty. The fig puree was good but if I see another spoon push (sauce vag) on a plate I'm going to scream. The combination of the roasted corn and grapes was inspired and fantastic. The whole of this dish was very well conceived but the execution was second rate. We also ordered the fries because, in a semi-French bistro, you have to. We didn't find anything about the fries to recommend them. I think this needs a total rewrite. They were not properly blanched before cooking so they were mushy and limp. They were cut too fat to be proper pomme frites, at least in my opinion. They come with a funky spicy seasoning which just seems weird when you're hoping for bistro fries. For our entrees we chose the Amish chicken and the veal shank. The chicken was very well done. I thought it a bit heavy on the moussoline but my wife disagreed. There was nothing terribly interesting about the dish but it was well executed with great flavor. The only real problems were once again it was not properly seasoned and the portions were enormous. The veal shank however was a let-down from beginning to end. Braised meat is usually pretty fantastic even when it's mediocre but this one just didn't make it. It was surprisingly bland, served luke warm (I don't know how braised meat makes it to the table under temp), unseasoned, and huge. I think this would have been better served in a much smaller portion on a bed of polenta instead of the potato hash. The brussel sprout salad on top was very good. All in all Gallerie Bar & Bistro has all the ingredients to become a great restaurant. Hopefully the above criticism reflects the usual growing pains of a new venture and not a sloppy management that doesn't pay attention to execution. The chef seems to a truly inspired vision. Unfortunately the menu currently reads better than it delivers. We will definitely be back though and truly believe it will improve. Pros: Beautiful space/great atmosphere Friendly and attentive staff Interesting and unique menu choices Cons: Whoever is cooking seems deathly afraid of salt Wines as pricey as my car Not quite firing on all cylinders yet

I'd give this 4.5 stars if I could because the Gallerie is excellent, but not yet perfect. We love French food and have dined frequently in Paris, Montreal and french restaurants in New York. This one surprisingly can compete with just about any of them - as long as you go expecting an Americanized French bistro. The one page menu has French dishes like bone marrow, roasted chicken and foie gras (you say foie gras, I say NO gras) Skipped over the salads and went straight to the oysters. Half West Coast, half East Coast with a riot of sauces in the middle (see what I did there!) You get the usual cocktail and horseradish sauces - both of which were excellent - but the twist was the ginger sauce that adds a tartness to the dish. This was symbolic of every dish at Gallerie. The excellence you'd hope for, but always with an optional, unexpected twist to make it special. If you like gnocchi, the Gallerie's version is less starchy, but very tasty version that I think uses soy, but don't let that scare you off. It was served with chestnuts and edamame. If you're not quite sure (like I was) ask for a side instead of a full entree. They were VERY accommodating! The Mrs. had brussels sprouts which she said were perfect. For the entree, steak frites, but with a filet mignon instead. It was perfectly prepared with a bleu cheese bernaise sauce. Wonderful! The fries were a little mushy and ordinary. You'll be impressed by the dinner, but blown completely away by the desserts. The lemon poppyseed blueberry cheesecake with ginger crust with not frozen. It was obviously made fresh on site. Bursting with flavor and oh so good! They had a chocolate hazelnut dessert that was more like a cookie on the bottom, but also terrific. The macaroons were not authentic, but amazing in their own rite. French macaroons should have a solid and crispy outer shell. These were not stiff enough on the outside, but the vanilla macaroons had an amazing chocolate filling with a raspberry sorbet that were absolutely fantastic. The Mrs., who fancies herself as a french baker, was not as impressed. The wine list was good, but could easily be expanded. In a (hazel)nutshell, you'll be asking yourself: this is a hotel restaurant??? In Columbus?!? Pros: Genius chef who prepared American versions of french classics Genuinely caring and attentive serving staff Value for the dollar (not cheap, but you wont feel overcharged) Cons: French bread served at the beginning earned a meh, served at room temperature Nits: Chairs in the middle of the room felt cheap I plan to go back again and again (and again)!

With a heavy heart I must report in. In a word, disappointing. I followed Chef Glover from Sage. Based on Sage, I would follow him anywhere. I read articles "We're getting rid of the stigma that is hotel restaurants in the US!". Let's start with the US hotel restaurant stigma. The US hotel restaurant stigma is based on I think a few factors. A) Overly priced and not really up to par food. B) A wait staff that works maybe 2 days a week during really busy periods on the weekends but that are otherwise not invested in the restaurant. We have both here. Let's start with the front of house. It's a mess. Read my reviews. I don't think I am an overly picky guy. I am pretty forgiving and understanding of the challenges of a dining room. Really, anything up to par with Waffle House or Applebee's or better and I am a pretty happy guy. I have also spent plenty of time in foreign countries. I have eaten in France and Montreal and Quebec City and understand the concept of a table is yours for the night and we don't rush you out the door style of service. This was neither. This was simply no adherence to a quality standard, basic confusion, and seemingly no one in charge. Reservations at 7... seated at 7:20, ignored until 7:40. 7:40, drink orders taken. No specials mentioned. I asked about specials. Confusion ensues. Tell me about dish XYZ. No clues. No water. No bread. 20 minutes later (8PM) drinks arrive and meals are ordered. Ask for water. It shows up 10 minutes later. 1st course arrives about an hour and fifteen after our reservation time. Water refills are a matter of chasing down a warm body. For a restaurant of this price point, the runners should know who gets what meal. You place the plate in front of the patrons, not on the corner of the table closet to you, the server, and out of reach of the two people seated at the opposite side of the table. This BW3 feed house style of plop a basket of apps anywhere and run doesn't fly. Over all, the service was terribly slow, confused, and not detailed. At $40/plate, you expect fresh silverware between courses. You expect water to be a given. You expect bread to show up. You expect the table to be cleared between courses. (Ah, the old here comes the mains while you are barely into a salad rush.) Hell, for the sake of the business, you expect drink refills for the simple fact that to push more booze and wine means more income. The servers need to know the specials as specials are where the money and time savings are for the back. Gallierie, if you are listening... if you want to really be a top notch restaurant and not the disaster you are now, if you want to compete with the very best in town, hire a Maitre'D immediately who has years of experience, forces everyone on the floor to a top level of performance, and simply does not accept sub par. Your front of house is an embarrassment. We'll move on to food. I praised Sage. I worshipped the sidewalk in front of the place. I know what Bill is capable of. Sage was 5 stars all the way. This was not Chef Glover at his best. The menu was safe. The preparations were very good, not great. Things were over salted at times. Sauces were cheap. (Ketchup and hot sauce mixed as a garnish on a cheese plate? Really?) I am not sure what happened here. Did Chef take the pay out to go to a safer job with lower risk but lesser standards? I don't know. I read his heartfelt farewell on Facebook. I read the Columbus Monthly article. I thought Gallerie would be truly something different. It's not. It is an over priced and mediocre hotel restaurant. It's everything they said they didn't want it to be. I am heart broken. Chef Glover, if this is out of your control, save your reputation and run far, far away. I know what you are capable of and I miss it terribly.

Had the Bone Marrow, Pork Belly, and Salad. The house Salad with the poached egg was outstanding! The Bone Marrow was my first time having it and it was very good. The Pork Belly was cooked correctly and was very tasty and tender. The next day I had the Burger with Foie Gras on it for lunch. The Burger itself was outstanding. Very juicy and cooked medium as I asked. French Fries are also great. Atmosphere with the view of all the floors of rooms is also hard to beat. Great place for a date! I can't wait to go back and try the Mussels.

Went for NYE it was an all inclusive 5 course meal. We were seated at 7:40 the place was absolutely dead with about only 4-5 other tables. The seafood tower came out which I was excited for... But unfortunately the only edible thing was the shrimp. The oysters, crab legs and clams had a distinctive fishy taste. I could not even stomach swallowing an oyster. Our sever came and took it away and about 15 minutes later brought out the second course I got the scallops and my boyfriend got the mussels. I got 1 scallop which the mussels could have been a meal of their own it was so big. The server took it away. We waited ana waited for our salads. A little over 30 minutes later I flag down our server who had not been over once and she said our dinner would be out shortly which I reminded her we never received or salads. About 10 minutes later the manager brings over our salads and apologizes and tells is they will comp two of our drinks. About 10 minutes later our main course comes out. The man who brought it out had no idea what we had ordered and which dish was what. I had the veal chop and my bf had the pork shank. So we just guessed which entree was ours. Later we were thinking about or meals and hey weren't even correct the pork shank said it would come with brussel sprouts and carrots which it did not. We didn't even want dessert. It was honestly just a horrible experience from the food to the atmosphere and the service. Our dinner for two lasted well over 2 hours. We noticed other tables were irritated also and some tables even left to go back to the bar because the atmosphere was so stiff. Our bill was $290 and with that price I expected a lot better. We will not be returning.

The service was really excellent. There were also lots of interesting menu choices.

I stayed at the Hilton and decided to give Gallerie a try. It's located on the second floor atrium with a ceiling that reaches the top of the hotel. It definitely lends itself to somewhat of an "outdoor" patio feeling even you're basically surrounded by hotel rooms above you. The restaurant was mostly empty when I came on a Wednesday night, though the bar area had a nice crowd watching The Bulls break Miami's streak. It took the hostess 5 minutes to get me seated after she walked off when I arrived and said she'd be right back (I know this because I kept my eye on the time with the intent to just leave and head down to Martini's if it took longer than 5 minutes). Did I mention the restaurant was empty, and before I had asked to be seated, I was looking at the menu while she stood around doing nothing? The waitress was significantly better than the hostess and took care of me promptly. For dinner I ordered the French Onion Soup and the Filet Mignon. The soup came without the typical crust I would expect from a french onion soup, and instead it had thin slices of baguette with melted cheese on the side. The flavour left much to be desired. The Filet Mignon was the highlight of my meal and cooked perfectly (I ordered it rare). For dessert I ordered the Ginger Creme Brulee which I didn't enjoy because the ginger flavour was overwhelming (and I generally like ginger) but it didn't work for me in a creme brulee dessert. The texture was also softer than I like for creme brulee. Overall, the food wasn't horrible for a typical slightly overpriced hotel restauarant, but outside of the convenience when staying at the Hilton, I wouldn't bother coming back here again (with exception to the bar).

The mussels were awesome. Even went back the next day and ordered a different flavor. Sat at the bar both times and the service was great.

Great addition to Columbus! If you are looking to impress a visitor, I highly recommend stopping in Gallerie. The restaurant is elegant and I was also impressed with the bar area. I recognized the manager (James) from M at Miranova. His customer service is top notch and the entire staff was extremely friendly. I did not stop in for dinner, but enjoyed the appetizers. The foie gras was delicious. I also recommend the crème brûlée french toast and house-made marshmallow for dessert!

I have now dined here twice, and I would like to go back and try more, but the prices just seem a little steep for my pockets. On my first dining experience I went with my mother for lunch. We had checked out the menu before dining and knew we wanted to try the duck as the lunch portion, but they had taken it off the lunch menu. They offered to make it for us, but we didn't want to pay dinner prices at lunch. With a large portion of the dinner options taken off of the lunch menu (which was not updated online), the only options that were left were pretty much salads and sandwiches. We ended up ordering the beet salad and gnocchi. They were both very delicious, but it just didn't seem worth the price at lunch. The next time we went to eat, we went for dinner and were planning on getting the duck, but the waiter talked us into the herb stuffed chicken. This dish was incredibly delicious and we were licking the plate. I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, but I felt ripped off. I'm not sure if I will return to ever try the duck. Maybe for a special occasion, but it's hard to say.

Conclusion: I would recommend this place if (1) you want good to great food (9+/10); and (2) you are okay with eating in a strange environment with a total lack of ambiance; (3) and can deal with some potential disorganization. I can't give it more than a 4 because of the ambiance and it being in a hotel. I'll admit, my review is a little outdated by several months, but it was a special evening and I remember enough to adequately review this place from the Fall of 2013. Took my girlfriend out for a surprise dinner. I chose this place because it was newer, had good reviews, and I doubted that she had been there before. I made reservations at least a week in advance. When we arrived, they were running significantly behind and we waited for quite a while, maybe 30+ minutes. Completely disorganized and should not have happened; hopefully it was a freak incident and doesn't normally happen. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Once we were seated, it was readily apparent that this was by no means a romantic environment, but I expected that from the prior reviews. It is what it is. I was there for the food. We got bone marrow as an appetizer. It was excellent. You should definitely give it a try. My date was a little held back by the idea of eating bone marrow, but she gobbled it up. My date ordered the duck. It was also spectacular. I know this is a BIG statement, but it was literally some of the best duck I every tried. I would go definitely go back just to get the duck. In fact, I still think about how tasty it was months later. I ordered the pork belly. It was so-so. I went on a pork belly phase for a while, and this was just average. It was too cold when they brought it out and that didn't help much. It was probably sitting out until my dates duck was finished. I would not recommend getting that dish. Give it a shot for the food.

My husband and I stayed at the Hilton Downtown Columbus for a "weekend getaway". I decided to book a table at the hotel's restaurant, and boy am I glad I did. We experienced excellent service from start to finish. We ordered the scallop appetizer with foie gras, it can only be described as heavenly. My entree, the Amish Chicken, was divine! Overall, this restaurant is a great one, the staff is attentive, the atmosphere is modern but private and the food is amazing!

The Gallerie was a very nice surprise. The morning of Valentine's Day began with my wife asking what our plans were. Uh oh! Luckily the Gallerie has plenty of capacity. We were seated promptly and our waiter, Tom, was quick to approach. He was extremely helpful with suggestions- most waiters are afraid to go out on limb lest they be criticized later. We tried the petite charcuterie and the foie gras as appetizers. The charcuterie board, while acceptable, wasn't off-the-charts. I always prefer a bit of cheese and preserves, but no such luck. A couple of the meats were too similar to be on the same board. The foie gras, however, was off-the-charts! I was set to order the veal shank when Tom swayed me with his overwhelming endorsement of the chicken. REALLY? CHICKEN? Who endorses chicken? Well, he was on the money. It melts in your mouth- seriously good. My wife's scallops were also very good. Tom recommend a chocolate desert with coconut ice cream. It too was very good. We will certainly be back to try the mussels and veal shank. Can't wait.

I really want to like this place more, but it's just OKAY for now. We has reservations for 7:30pm on a Saturday and arrived a little late. Well they were running behind as they said they were not use to business picking up or something to that effect. Uh huh? You've been open since October, there's no on or off season in Columbus, so not really sure how they're not staffed or organized for a Saturday night. Oh well. Anyways they said we could go over to the bar to get a drink while we wait. Well there wasn't a seat to be had at the bar but we found a table to sit at. The couple next to use warned us of the terrible service they had experienced all evening. Before we were able to drink we were gathered to be seated. The seating just sucks. Besides the booths, all tables were 4 tops. Made it kinda awkward for just 2 people but okay. I don't even know how to describe the decor. The table is simply ugly, but whatever it's just a table. The chairs are unconformable with no padding and this awkward bar the goes across the bottom (NOT a foot rest). My heels kept getting caught up on it. It's not the most intimate or romantic setting, but my date made up for the lack of ambiance :) Our waitress, Lauren, provided us with much better service than when we checked in for our reservation. We ended up ordering the bone marrow for an appetizer. It was yummy, but a little deceiving how much you get. The ends of the bone looked like more marrow but we're really part of the bone or hardened marrow. Came with a huge heaping of arugala, carmalized onions, and small pieces of toast. A couple pieces of the toast were burnt. We also ordered a few drinks, I had one of their cocktails (after a few sips it was just too sweet) and also a glass of their malbec. Malbec was good and the wine pours are generous. For our entrees we got the pork belly and duck. The duck was hands down the best of the two. I would return here simply for the duck (and to try some of their other apps and mussels). I had never had pork belly before and didn't really care for it. Also it didn't help how drafty it is in the restaurant being that the ceiling is 20 stories up or so. The food cooled off extremely fast which sucked. My dining companion's eyes/contacts were drying out/getting irritated because of how drafty it was. Seriously, they need to figure that out. Maybe some sort of canopy? As I said, I would return but maybe sit in the bar area instead for some drinks and apps. It was nice seeing the inside/atrium of this new hotel. Don't love it but don't hate it. Definitely different. Good service down there.

My wife and I decided to check this place out for a date night since we had heard good things about it since it opened a few weeks ago. We were really impressed. Service was excellent from the hostess and our server. She was very knowledgeable and made good recommendations, and showed enthusiasm for explaining where certain dishes originated. The food is American-French. We tried the roasted chicken and the filet (see, it's not crazy French) and they were both excellent. My steak was perfectly cooked and it was a great piece of meat. The frites that came with (and the homemade tarter sauce) were really good as well. My favorite parts though were the bacon-loving red onions that came on top with the bleu cheese sauce. Fantastic. There are a lot of restaurants now touting quality roasted and fried chicken, but none has the flavor and tenderness of what's going on here. Great execution on a menu staple. Our wine was great, and so was the cheeseboard we had as an appetizer - we're not big on fois gras or bone marrow, but everyone else says they are fantastic. We will definitely go back here for special occasions. We had a great meal and experience, with drinks and an app, for $100.

Beautiful restaurant but the food reminded me a lot of the Chef's restaurant, Sage American Bistro. I have eaten at Sage since it opened and have enjoyed it. I don't feel like Gallerie Bar and Bistro is its own restaurant yet. Too many items on the menu that I've eaten at Sage. Pretzel crusted salmon, I first had at Sage. Definitely good but why would I want to get it at Gallerie? Scallops with blackberry ketchup...been there, eaten that at Sage. Delicious, nonetheless. Also, I don't want to slam the food but it was just ok. Nothing that came to our table was piping hot like you'd expect. Some was under seasoned. We ordered pretty much the entire menu (had friends in from out of town) but nothing stood out to us. We'll return but only to the bar and maybe try lunch. Lets get some NEW items not on other restaurant menus. Come on Chef Glover, get creative and innovative for this beautiful place. This is not Sage!

Absolutely can't say enough good things about my experience there last night. My date and I were treated so well by the staff, that I almost wouldn't have cared if the food was terrible. Luckily, that was not the case. The food was creative, without being over the top, and absolutely delicious. We did not have a single bite that didn't exceed our expectations. Do yourself a favor and check this place out the first chance you get.

Good drinks, good food. Went during happy hour which made drinks and apps more reasonably priced. Ate the duck for dinner and would get again if we go back, mildly over priced but worth it during happy hour.

I called ahead of time and no one answers the phone. The hostesses weren't busy so I don't know why they didn't answer the phone. Menu is too small. This is not really french so take the french flair seriously. We looked at the menu online but they took off the entrees on the lunch menu that were on the dinner menu. They said they could make them but I doubt they would charge us the lunch prices that had been listed. Hopefully they have corrected their online lunch menu. I think I will pass next time.

Attended a wedding reception here last week. It was well run from start to finish! We were one of the first arrivals, quickly valeted our car & made it upstairs. The coordinator quickly took my bouquet and ushered us to the cocktail hour area, where servers were taking drink orders. I had a glass of wine in my hand within 10 minutes of pulling up to the valet stand, which made me a happy camper. We had a nice spread of spiced nuts & olives with the cocktail hour before we were ushered into our room for the evening. The bride & team had picked a great menu - choice of soup or salad, their steak or stuffed chicken, and then, instead of cake, a great selection of pies (apple, grapefruit and salted caramel - mix the grapefruit & caramel pieces together for a little heaven on your tongue!). Plates were quickly removed & glasses refilled. After 4 hours of fun & drink, it was time for bed for us, so a quick trip to valet and our car was back in front of us. A seamless party experience!

The Gallerie Bar and Bistro is on the second floor of the Hilton, and it is really beautiful! I was staying in the Hilton while working in Columbus. I generally hate hotel restaurants, especially when I'm traveling for work and by myself, but this place had lots of quiet little corners to sit and read. I sat in a comfortable booth in the lounge (had to move three 10-lb pillows out of the way) and ordered a couple appetizers and cocktail. The wings were seriously the best wings I've ever had! The Gruyere cheese balls were great, too, but I barely had room after eating way too much chicken. I believe there was a full dozen gigantic wings in one order, so it would be great to share with at least one other person. The Honey Lavender Blossom cocktail ($6 at happy hour!) is one of the best cocktails I've ever had!

I may be judging a bit harshly but I could not get over the "hotel lobby" vibe of the restaurant and bar. The food and service were very good and you can't beat the location. I love the Hilton hotel it is in. The bar is comfortable and the restaurant is good but I don't think I would go to either if I wasn't staying at the hotel.

why was this place empty on a Sunday night... after Ohio State's winter graduation? ...everyone else probably had awful dinner plans elsewhere. the interior of Gallerie is gorgeous. tucked on the second floor of the Hilton on High Street, it's easy to get to and park near. the bar looked lovely, but we (a party of 6) sat in the dining room. the decor is rustic-chic and classy. definitely not a place for a casual bite. food was incredible. from a fun amuse-bouche from the chef, to starters ranging from bone marrow to light gruyere cheese puffs, to a huge charcuterie platter and expertly crafted salads... everything was delicious and beautifully presented. main courses were great as well- i opted for a lemony cod dish with a light vinaigrette sauce and it was lovely. the resto accommodated a vegan diner in our party as well, and i'm sure they could accommodate gluten-free as well. the bottle of red zin was perfect, too. sadly, we were too stuffed for dessert :( i'd return without hesitation- gallerie's menu has something to please everyone- from well-executed classic steak frites to more creative seafood dishes, everyone will be full and happy.

Atmosphere- it's an exposed bar and bistro right in the middle of the hotel. Personally, I really like that concept. It was surprisingly quiet in the restaurant with it being so exposed. Service- Excellent A+ Food- Try the bone marrow and rainbow trout! And the bourbon peach crisp..the cayenne pecan praline was a nice touch.
