I took my son here for his free birthday sub only to find that this location does not honor the free birthday sub. They also did not have any fresh limes for the Cherry Limeade that was advertised on the cups, signage, etc. That being said, the service was good and the food was very good. There was no product available to buy, ie; hot sauces, and I wish that when we had ordered our beverages we were told they were out of limes as it was waaay too sweet as just cherry juice, but the subs are larger than we expected and tasty. We were here around 1:30 so it's quite possible that they had not replenished after the normal lunch crowd but we may have ordered differently if the staff had been more knowledgeable when we ordered.

You'd get faster survive during a weekday lunch going someplace where you sit down and have a waiter. Soooooo slow considering I was the ONLY person in the restaraunt. I realize your doing orders for a call in, but stop and take care of your walk ins. Won't be back. No wonder it's empty. Edit: got home after waiting more than 15 mins for my sub and it had both tomato and mustard after specifically asking to not put it on the sandwich. Total fail.

I have been to this Firehouse several times as it is near my home, but I have yet to be impressed. Now that might sound crazy, disliking a place but visiting it several times, yet I do enjoy the Firehouse on Sawmill and I kept returning thinking it would eventual follow suit. But for whatever reason, this one on Henderson in the former Borders Bookstore, just isn't doing it for me. The subs here lack taste. Instead of a spicy, meaty, club topped with sweet mayo and veggies it tastes in my mouth like a glob of mush. Bland is bland is bland. The bread here seems a bit too old, crumbly. It seems to take them longer to make the order. The soda out of their all-in-one dispenser seems more watered down than the Sawmill location. The dinning room is too echoey and drafty ( I am sounding like Abe Simpson here, sorry.) I'll probably return again, just to see if they can improve. I love the concoctions of the other store. But as of yet, it is 2-stars bordering on 3.

I've been to Firehouse a couple of times, and I'm honestly surprised I haven't gone more times because I really do enjoy it. To me, their sandwiches are much better than Subway, Penn Station, and various other comparable places. I've never had any problems with my orders or with the service, and the combos are pretty affordable as well.

Went here for the first time today for lunch with a colleague. It was a-okay! I ordered the firehouse salad with ham. The ingredients were good. I liked the ham, cheese, tomatoes, etc. They were out of the kalamata olives I was looking forward to due to a recall but offered to give me black olives instead which was nice. The salad was a good size; it was all I had for lunch and I was full afterwards. My only complaint is that the salad didn't seem super fresh or of high quality to me. I had some wilted pieces and lots of stem pieces. It wasn't bad, but I'd be reluctant to order it again. My coworker really loved her sandwich, so I'll be sure to try one of those instead next time!

I have only been to firehouse once before last Monday. That visit was to the Sawmill/Tuller location when it first opened a few years back. It was good, but a little out of the way of where I lived so I didn't go back. Now the Kenny road one is very close. Had I rated this place Monday, it would have gotten two stars as my fiancées sub was mysteriously sans cheese which was only one of the two items that came on her (cheddar and brisket) sub. But I can't be mad. Their quality is just so high for a reasonable price, and mistakes do happen. The meat and cheese they use taste great, the wheat bread is delicious and the store is clean and well kept. I wish they had more of a selection of sides. I haven't had the chili, but I'm looking for a potato or macaroni salad, Mac and cheese, just something besides chips or dessert. It's great for a quick, filling meal though. I ordered online both times, but like I said no cheese the fist time. Everything was perfect today, the girl at the counter was very friendly and my sub was well constructed. The girl even has half a sub for lunch tomorrow. I recommend going for the large sub, it's a lot more food for about 2 more dollars. Definitely a better value than 6.69 for the medium.

Food good as usual but staff and friendliness is awful here. Usually go to sawmill road location and will only go to that location from now on. At least on this side of town.

Went here for the first time today. We picked it cuz my friend says the place by here house is pretty good for nice big veggie subs. Her (veggeie) sub at this location was terrible. It was completely dripping in sauce that made the bread too soggy to eat. I got the Italian sub and was extremely disappointed. There was no cheese, no dressing and it came cold. The extremely sweet-tasting bread ruined it completely. Granted it was the wheat option, but even my nephews who only eat wheat bread, wouldn't eat it. The only thing that tasted good with the tukey/bacon/cheddar filling for the turkey ranch sub. But then again, you can basically eat cardboard if you drown it in ranch dressing.

Very dissatisfied with this place. Ordered a steak and cheese sub "fully involved" - meaning with lettuce, tomato and more - got home, and it was a plain sandwich. Went right back to get refund on my cash order, and they wouldn't give it to me because the manager wasn't there. So all I had left was a cold sub, and $8.29 less in my pocket. Whatever happened to customer service? Nobody cares anymore. Also, when entering Firehouse Subs, you are greeted with a very half-hearted "Welcome to Firehouse Subs" from the workers, who obviously hate doing that. In addition, the cashiers are required to ask a litany of questions about donations and mushrooms. Better to concentrate on what the customer actually wants. You can't be attentive to the customer's needs when you are trying to ask a bunch of useless questions. Pay attention to the order and these mistakes won't happen. Never going back.

The concept is cool and they give proceeds for a good cause so that's why they are getting 3 stars from me. The food? Not so much. I'm a fan of Deli Subs from an actual east coast deli with a half around of meat loaded up. This place is like a step down from Quiznos and they don't even fry the meat on a grill in front of you. It's basically generic food and it's kind of expensive for a combo. You get a bag of lays chips, a drink, and sub for 11 dollars? Come on bro...

Great tasting subs and lots of fountain drinks to choose from. Nice atmosphere, clean store & friendly staff. Great meatball subs and brownies. Great reduced calorie menu items!
