Really enjoyed Firebirds! Raspberry peach margaritas were light and tasty. Not loaded with sugary syrup. DELISH! For my meal, I ordered a spinach salad with salmon on top. I always love when a restaurant asks me how I'd like my salmon cooked. I ordered it medium and it came out perfect. Service was fantastic as well. The atmosphere was cozy... Definitely my kind of place. Read the review and decided to give Firebirds a try to see for myself. I'm glad I did. We will definitely be back!

We gave this place another shot, as we know everyone has an off day once in a while. The restaurant was not crowded and the wait staff looked a little bored, but that did not really have any effect on our time spent there. We had the same four people at the table and our expectations weren't exactly high, but what the hell... We were all hungry, so we dove straight into the entrees and did not order any appetizers at all. My wife had a cup of New England Clam Chowder, with a Spinach Salad and 2 Crab Cakes on the side. I had the Aged Ribeye Steak, with a side of Potatos. Our friends ordered the Coconut Shrimp and the Mahi Mahi dinner. I also asked for a side Caesar Salad, which even though had a bit too much dressing, was actually very tasty. The food arrived and everyone was quiet, which is always the sign of a good meal. My steak was cooked just right, tender and had nice flavor. Everyone else also had positive remarks about their food, which made our return trip a success. We even tried a slice of their Key Lime Pie for dessert and it was good as well! I'm not sure why our experience here was different this time, as we ordered similar foods and sat pratically at the same table, but we're glad to see this place can put out decent food. The prices are a little high for my comfort zone, $20.95 - $29.95 for most entrees, but that's something I can deal with. Good job Firebirds!

I have mixed feelings about Firebirds. I visited last week for restaurant week and was blown away by the service. Our waiter was absolutely amazing and he didn't miss a beat when it came to splitting checks and getting the food out. The service was definitely on par with that of a "fancy" restaurant. However I thought the food and ambiance were just okay when factoring in the pricing. In other words, I thought Firebirds was expensive for what I thought was just above average (chain restaurant) quality food and ambiance. Their restaurant week menu consisted of an appetizer, entree and dessert for $30. I ordered the watermelon and mozzarella salad, which was my favorite dish of the meal. Cold fresh watermelon combined with salty mozzarella and fragrant basil. Yum! For the entree, I ordered the pork chop with quesadilla, which was a strange combination. It felt like two separate plates combined into one. My pork chop was overcooked, but still relatively tender and edible. The quesadilla was pretty pedestrian. I felt the same way about my Key Lime pie for dessert. Anyways, I enjoyed my meal at Firebirds. The service was excellent and the ambiance was nice. I just felt as if I was paying a premium for just above average chain restaurant quality food. Its strip mall location doesn't help with this either. ***3.5 stars***

Recently went here for happy hour to celebrate a co-worker moving to Florida. There were eight of us in all. We sat out on the patio which was a relaxing environment. Their happy hour is from 4 to 6:30, Monday through Friday. I had been looking forward to the experience as I heard others speak highly of Firebirds. Personally, I was a bit underwhelmed. I really didn't feel particularly welcomed by the wait staff. They were efficient and attentive. And when food was ready in the kitchen, a team of staff would deliver the food items. Felt a bit chaotic as different staff members calling out different orders and shuffling about to hand them off to the right person. I had their Sangria. Honestly, it tasted watered down or the red sangria had sat in melting ice for a while. I wouldn't recommend it. Others enjoyed their mixed drinks more, but I believe they ordered drinks that were not the happy hour specials. I ordered the Crispy Mahi taco's. Seemed to take an inordinate amount of time for the food to arrive. I wasn't expecting the taco's to be spicy. Wished I had known that. There were three in soft taco shells in a classy, silver taco holder. The taco shells are smaller than their holders and was messy attempting to take them out without spilling. I was still hungry for something more. One of my coworkers had the Pretzels with Samuel Adams Beer Cheese. They looked good. Once I was able to catch the attention of our server, I placed another order for them. Pretzels were warm, soft and salty. The beer cheese was topped with jalapeño slices that I picked aside and rather bland. Quite honestly, it didn't really taste much like cheese either. My total bill came to just over $20. I did look over the menu when I first arrived. Have to say I feel their prices are a bit high for what you get. If the lunch & dinner items are anything like what I experienced with their happy hour items, I will be less enthused to return again especially with the multitude of restaurants available within the Polaris area.

This place is the bomb ! The waitress was WONDERFUL. I ordered lobster and petite filet, baked potato loaded and my fiance and I split the blt salad ( it was to die for!) My lobster melted on my mouth like butter, the filet minon was perfect ! Bake potatoe delicious. My fubby ordered the sirloin steak with loaded tater, he loved it! And what we call butt bread was delicious also! You must try this place, don't hate it's a chain it's well worth every PENNY!

Again a solid performance, chilie dusted Delmonico steak, prime rib, and sirloin steak with desert of cheesecake , and chocolate brownie with ice cream. Service was prompt and very efficient. For a child's plate we had the smoked wings which were actually a hit for the young one. They have been very consistent with quality and service.

The food was good, the service was fast and friendly but there was no soul. I hate to be hard on a place that is doing everything right but I need a little X factor in my life and Firebirds doesn't have that.

We happened to be in the area last night, a cold night, and a steakhouse seemed appropriate. Plus, we had some gift cards from a Yelp event, and wanted to try this place out. We got there at almost 10 on Saturday night. They close at 11, and though some places might be busy at that time of night, we figured the Polaris area would be winding down. Yep- only a few other customers were there. Sweetie had a Riesling; I had a root beer. We skipped appetizers and went straight for the big stuff: she had a filet and mashed potatoes, I had prime rib with a loaded baked tater. Oh, and a cup of chili to start. It was pretty standard, but very meaty and flavorful. Good, not great. I had bites of hers- the steak was tender and flavorful, the mashed potatoes were really good. My prime rib was thick and juicy; a bit fattier than I remember (I don't get it often, but figured at a steak place it would be done right.) Very tender and tasty, especially with the jus and the horseradish sauce. The loaded potato was pretty darn good. The best parts of the meal were the service and the dessert. Our server, Harrison I think, was very attentive and helpful but never intrusive. His recommendations were great, and we didn't feel rushed out even though we ended up being the last ones to leave, just before closing time. And the seasonal dessert he recommended just topped off an already-good meal. A mousse cake, almost an ice cream cake, with vanilla and chocolate sided with strawberries- mmm. The place itself is very warm and inviting. Open, with tall ceilings, but still cozy. A cool bar area. Prices... well, they were pretty high. We didn't have to pay the whole bill because of the cards; I'm giving them four stars because that's what it'd be worth if we paid full price. One drink, dessert, two steaks, no app, for about $80. Any sides except potatoes are extra. Steep, but almost worth it. I bet we'll be back, once in a long while.

Id definitely suggest this place, if you dont mind spending the money and enjoying the atmosphere. The wine list was expansive, and likely paired up with the food quite well. I opted for some draft beer, and a smokehouse bbq burger with seasoned steak fries. For $11 and change, it was priced excellent and well worth it. The rest of the food pushed a $16-$42 range, average was about $27 per plate. Service was good, the guy was nice, and I suspected he was new. Turns out he was only a month in, but he was doing just fine.

Nice decor on the inside which you wouldn't think from the outside of it. Our server was great. I ordered pink lemonade but it was toooo strong for me so I had to water it down other than that everything was tasty. Loved the cornmeal dusted bread (I am carb addict I can't help myself) and the steak salad I had was very good; made me think about having a steak from them one day even though the salad cost almost $16. Hubs' burger was tasty but why he ordered tater tots (tasted like - well - tater tots) instead of fries is beyond me. They also have outdoor seating (yay) and free wi-fi (yay 2) so this is a place we will probably hit again.

I was excited to use my e-club $10 off coupon and asked the server if I could use it for lunch. She said yes, and showing her my email on my phone was all she needed. Awesome. I ordered off the special Winter Thrills menu and got the Roasted Shrimp Bruschetta ($11.25) and the Superfood Salad with Grilled Chicken ($13.50). I don't usually eat chicken, but was too cheap to pay $3.45 more for the salad with Ahi Tuna. I forgot to order it without goat cheese, so it wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. This was my fault, not theirs. The Bruschetta was very good, with a little bit of spice, but it was served cold, which I didn't expect. I ate one and had the rest boxed up to take home. She also brought bread with butter to start and it was warm and crusty. I liked the warm/cozy atmosphere. I sat in a booth in the dining room and it was nice. My server was friendly and attentive. They were fairly busy and there appeared to be two large groups as well as a few smaller ones. I was surprised at the business, since it was between 1:30-2:30. I walked through the empty bar when I left and there is a fireplace and lots of comfortable seating. I will probably be back for lunch and order off the regular menu. This isn't really an option for dinner because we don't come this way (Polaris) in the evening.

Truly wasn't sure what to expect from this place. The outside of the restaurant gives it more of a casual vibe than the restaurant feels inside. Inside was warm, dim lighting, but inviting. The atmosphere was pleasant especially because of the below zero weather outside. The first thing I noticed was the bar area. The lights behind the bottles on the shelf set the tone as relaxing. One of the walls were lined with bottles of wines from their selection. Another wall had a mirror to make the restaurant look bigger than it is. This being a steakhouse they had a nice selection of different cuts. We both ordered the rib eye mine with a side of french fries, hers with a baked potato. We ordered it medium rare, but honestly looked a little more rare. The rib eye was delicious. My mom who generally has an opinion on how to improve everything didn't have anything negative to say about her meal. Which in itself is a big compliment. She really liked her baked potato and especially liked how it was rolled in salt to make the skin crispy. Which prompted her to talk about her childhood. I had a Caesar salad before my meal that was really good. The dressing wasn't to overpowering. I did have a pear margaritas that wasn't too good. I was expecting it to taste light and refreshing. Instead just tasted like a pre-made mix. Overall the experience here was nice. We were lucky enough to be sat away from the middle of the restaurant where the tables are pretty close to each other.

Best spot in the area for steaks. Comfortable atmosphere, and great service. We discoverd this spot after church on Mother's Day. We came back with a group of friends, we had drinks, wing and onion ring app, four different steaks at our table and everyone was very satisfied. Love this place!

This is a steakhouse, dark, warm and inviting. It made me think of J Alexander's with it's upscale casual ambiance. You might get dressed up if you want but I wasn't and most people there in mid afternoon weren't either. I wasn't interested in a steak so I asked for a few recommendations from Patrick who recommended the Lobster Queso which is a 9 oz bowl of hot melted pepper jack cheese with a little lobster, spinach and tomato added in. It's big enough for two people and it came with a big platter of tri color chips for dipping excellence. I also ordered a Caeser side salad - hard to mess up a salad and it was just the thing to balance my meal. I sat on the bench seats in front of the wall of wine bottles - perfect for people watching plus it gave me a view of the open kitchen which was cool. The bench tables I noted were larger than standard tables. Not a big deal with one person but when you have a group of people, I think you'll appreciate the generous space. Good touch. The server that waited on me was so good that I asked to speak to the manager. A total rarity for me. Patrick was a definite step up in the professionalism department. He was personable, professional and he knew the menu well. Kudos for great service. My lunch by the way was $27.85 which included a 5 oz glass of J. Lohr Cab. There will be a return visit.

They are finally in Columbus! Excited to see them expanding further north after experiencing them in Birmingham, AL. Chicken tortilla soup - bowl serving is smaller than I recall from 2 years ago. In my prior experiences, soup was served in a true bowl and not a slightly larger cup. I was turned off by all the sour cream that I had to scoop most of it out. The soup was still good quality and 1 of my favorites but not as memorable as I remember it to be. BBQ ribs - the meat was tender and literally fell off the bones. It had good flavor and cooked well. Alex's Lemonade - no matter how hard I try, I can't resist this drink each time I come in. The lemonade is rich in quality and there is a rim of sugar on each glass. While I enjoyed the ribs, I'll be returning to my favorites next time - the Grilled Shrimp and Strawberry Salad or the Grilled Tenderloin Salad.

I'm not much of a chain steakhouse kind of girl, but they sent me a $10 coupon for joining their email list, so I grabbed a friend and we went to check it out for lunch. The interior is really nice and would probably be a good date spot. In the daylight though, I felt the lighting was a little unbalanced with so much harsh natural light coming through the windows and not very much interior light. There was also an odd high-pitched whining noise -- maybe an electric knife? -- for the first five or six minutes and it was a bit distracting. We were served a loaf of bread to start, and it was presented whole, which made for some crumbly mess when we tried to slice it. The servers did clear the crumbs, but it was a little awkward spraying crumbs around. I had the steak salad which was a good size portion and not too over-dressed. Steakhouses aren't really my scene (though the people watching is great fun), but this is a very pretty one. The email list is a good bet if you want to save a few dollars when you go.

My husband & I dined here for date night and weren't impressed. The wait-staff were very friendly, but the food wasn't so great. My husband ordered the sirloin and I ordered a filet, we both asked for our meat to be cooked medium, but when we got them- both dishes were rare. It wasn't all that big of a deal, we ate it anyways, but the flavor was terrible! Everything was over-salted, including my baked potato. Just a heads up if you're considering this as a dining option all entrees come with one side fries or a baked potato.. Overpriced & not delicious.

This was my 1st visit to Firebirds but it won't be my last. Firebirds is a nice addition to the Polaris restaurant scene being a bit more upscale than the standard run-of-the casual chain restaurants yet not as high end and pricey as the steakhouses. The interior is really nice and romantic - lots of dark wood and interesting lighting with an overall subdued atmosphere. The nice part was the noise level was low enough that you could carry on a nice conversation with your dinner companions. There were 6 of us in our party and we did have reservations although I'm not sure that we really needed reservations. We were there on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was busy but not overly crowded. The service was excellent -- prompt and efficent but not overly intrusive. Firebirds has an extensive drink menu and a nice selection of beer and wine. And for a somewhat higher end restaurant - their wine prices were not too excessive. Our group of six ordered a wide variety of items off the menu with some trying the steaks and others going for the seafood. The mixed greens salad and the Caesar salads were both very good and the grilled chicken corn chowder (only on Sunday) was exceptional. My wife had the pepper crusted sirloin while I enjoyed the sesame encrusted salmon. Both were excellent. Steaks come with your choice of a loaded baked potato or steak fries and they're very willing to substitute mashed potatoes. My salmon came with parmesan mashed potatoes and fried spinach - both were excellent. So -- if you're looking for something a little more upscale but not outrageously expensive, Firebirds would be a good choice. Excellent food / excellent service / reasonably priced.

I've previously been very impressed by Firebirds, but my most recent experience wasn't so good. I'm not going to bother spending my money for the bartender (slender fair-haired male) to be so rude. Thinking twice next time. I was kind of shocked because he's been there for a while and waited in me a few times. I can understand having a bad day, but your customers shouldn't be able to tell.

I totally forgot this place after it opened - and my lunch partner reminded me of it after a failed attempt at breakfast/early lunch at Scrambler Marie's. The service was top-notch. They weren't "busy" but there were several tables. They were on top of our drinks and checking on us (we were drinking soda/pop, I had a root beer, and switched to water). The food was good - she had some kind of salmon dish (very tasty from the bite I stole) and I had the french dip - which was awesome. I had a hard time turning down the steak for lunch. I want to go back - as the steaks sound awesome, and I need a change of pace in the area.

I really liked Firebirds, but there were too many mistakes for me to be in love with it. Let's talk about the good stuff first--that's more fun: -This steakhouse is beautiful! It's dark and swanky, and it feels very special. -Our server, Andría (sp?), was spectacular. I loved this lady. She was hilarious and had really witty banter with us. -Half off wine Mondays! Either by the glass or the bottle. -The food is good, but not amazing... ... that leads me into what I wasn't feeling: Firebirds isn't cheap, and as prices go up, my tolerance for mistakes goes down. If you're going to be on the pricier side, the experience needs to be perfect. And since perfection isn't always attainable, be ready to make things right when a mistake happens. My friend and I both ordered aged ribeyes. I wanted mine medium, and she wanted here medium well. It took forever for our steaks to come out. The restaurant was only about half full, so it's not like it was all that busy. When everything finally came out, the food runners asked which of us had which steak. I cut into mine and noticed it was completely brown inside. As I sat there waiting for someone to come check on us, my friend started chowing down on her steak until she saw how pink it was in the middle. They had given us the wrong steaks! When our server came over to see us, I mentioned the mixup. She apologized and moved on. As I started eating my steak, I noticed that about a third of it was fat. That's not really my thing, so I left a large portion on my plate. When our server mentioned my remaining steak, I explained what was wrong. Again, she apologized and moved on. While I'm glad our server apologized, I'm a little surprised she didn't do something to make it right. This is where I expect restaurants to do a better job. When things go wrong, you make it right again. In the end, I liked Firebirds, but not enough to make this a regular spot for me. I'd rather go to Wolf's Ridge and have perfect service and a perfect ribeye.

Start at the top. They mishandled, lost. Whatever- our reservation. Then we were told it would be 45 mins. Which turned into 1.5 hrs. The bar was not that crowded but service was a complete fail. Drinks average. Once we finally did get seated server was rushed frustrated with kitchen and self absorbed. Food was below aberage and priced high. Will not eat here again. Bad bad bad!

Enjoyed the food. Huge portions! Drinks were watered down which was one negative. Also it seemed the wine bottle was open a bit so didn't taste as good. But server was good and overall good service and food.

I went here with a large group for lunch and while the decor is very nice, I wasn't impressed with the food. I ordered the steak sandwich and it was overcooked and rather bland. I actually had to ask for some horseradish, mayo and hot sauce to create my own tableside sauce to make it somewhat tasty! I will give these guys another try but just not any time soon as this area has so many good food options.

Traveled on business to Columbus this week and a friend suggested this restaurant. I had the Angus meatloaf covered in a mushroom sauce with whipped potatoes and asparagus. My food was phenomenal and the others that were with me said the same about their food. Here are the negatives; our server was extremely slow but she was friendly and their dining room does not honor the drink specials/happy hour that's offered in the bar. They also will not allow you to purchase your drink at the bar and bring it to your table if you've already been seated.

Not worth it. This is a revised review based on new information from Guest 1. Atmosphere: I like the ambiance of this place. There is a nice covered outdoor patio area up front with ample seating. Just inside the door and to the left is a bar area. Behind the large fireplace/wall is the main dining area. To the rear of the space is the kitchen. The main dining area has wonderful lighting that makes for a quasi-romantic atmosphere, however, there are no private "nooks" I noticed to make it romantic. The noise level is horrible however. The waitress had to either ask us to repeat ourselves or come closer to make out what we said. I can only imagine how difficult that is for the staff every day. Since the main dining area is wide open, the noise echoes around. The entire restaurant appeared clean and the wait staff in clean outfits. Staff: I was irked when we walked in and a young lady was standing in front of the podium playing with a tablet with her back to us and no one behind the podium. Come to find out, this was the hostess. Not being greeted immediately upon entering is not a good way to welcome people to your establishment, let alone appearing as if your playing on a tablet. Once she realized we were there, two more hostesses "materialized" and after some consulting, took us back to our table (had reservations). The collection and leading us back to the table could have been handled more professionally though as we didn't realize she was calling us to follow her. Our waitress was fantastic! She had a great personality and was attentive at all times. She ensured we had refills (sometimes before asking), made sure everything was alright, and was overall great! If I could rank her separately, she would get 5 stars. Also of note, Guest 1 and 2 had an anniversary that night, so the waitress came back later with a nice little card signed by members of the staff congratulating them on their anniversary. It even had the correct anniversary (22nd), showing she paid attention. Food: We had a group of six that ordered 5 different items. I'm not sure what everyone ordered, so I will do my best to recall the details. Guest 1: prime rib: she said it was cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. She enjoyed the sides. Guest 2: steak of some kind; he didn't really make any comments whether it was great, terrible, or just good. He finished it. Guest 3: Butcher cut sirloin; he ordered medium well and it came out well done. He wasn't able to even finish half of it. Guest 4: Kobe beef meatloaf; enjoyed the meatloaf, but the green beans were cold when brought out. The waitress immediately went and brought out a new batch. Guest 5 (my girlfriend): Kobe beef meatloaf; she thought the meatloaf was OK, but wouldn't order it again. The appearance and texture reminded her of canned cat food. She loved the green beans, but felt the loaded baked potato was far too salty. Guest 6 (me): I ordered the wood grilled salmon, mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. The salmon was okay, but I've had far better. Mashed potatoes were average...nothing to distinguish them from any other place. Mac & cheese was good and different (green chile)...different noodles were used and it was just a little bit spicy. If I could, I would give the staff 5 stars because the waitress was fantastic! When informed of problems, she was quick to get them resolved and one of the managers came over to personally speak with us. He asked what could be done to resolve the situation and offered solutions. I was really impressed with this level of problem resolution and praise the staff for it! In the end, they took Guest 3s steak off the check. Summary: for the price paid, there should be no mistakes whatsoever. The food is okay, not something extraordinary. Besides the host/hostess stand, the rest of the staff was outstanding. Would I go back...maybe, but doubtful. There are plenty of other options in the Polaris area for this food which has better quality and far lower costs. Update: I woke up last night with chills, abdominal cramps, and a serious problem involving the restroom. I had originally thought it might not be linked to the restaurant, until I just received a call from Guest 1 that the same had occurred to her. I have recovered, but she has been out all day. This location is now off our list for future visits.

If you just want steak or lobster, they're pretty good for that. A lot of their other dishes are pretty bland and mediocre given the price. The appetizers were good, but they didn't have much you couldn't get somewhere else for probably cheaper. Liked the decor and ambience, but probably wouldn't return for the food.

Really outstanding steaks. Sides were average but still good. Wine selection was excellent. Staff was friendly and attentive. Interior is not consistent with strip mall type place - much nicer inside! Bar looks really cool. My only complaint is that prices are way too high for Columbus market. Quality is high but had NYC prices. Cocktail and appetizer prices were insane.

I really want to love Firebirds. The restaurant is super cozy and everyone who works there is friendly and helpful. The food, however, is salty, salty, salty! I've even tried ordering simple things, such as un-marinated grilled chicken breast with absolutely nothing on it, but it's still always salty. It's a shame because they have fairly good steaks and lots of sides to choose from. I'd say that Firebirds is way better than a Longhorn but in no way as good as a J Alexander's. The prices are a bit high as well.

GREAT: -Music -Service -Menu selection -atmosphere We were sat immediately on a Saturday night, the server was at our table in 15 seconds to get our drinks. He was more then friendly and went over the menu with us and told us about the restaurant. After you have had bad service you know great service when you see it. This is the BEST place on Polaris Parkway. We had Harrison as our server and he was exceptional. This is an A+ place well deserving of the high rating!

I'm surprised this place isn't 5/5 stars for some people. This place is amazing! The green chili Mac & Cheese is amazing & if they run out of that they'll switch with Asiago cheese which is just as good and spicy. The menu price is pricey, but definitely worth it. The cocktail menu is delicious and so are their regular drinks. The ambiance and atmosphere is clean, intimate, and very well decorated. Many local celebrities to Columbus come here like Archie Griffin and it has a nice heated patio for guests as well. GREAT FOOD & SERVICE!

Decent food but horrible service. The waitress kept disappearing and other staff brought food, drinks, cleared the table. She had very little menu knowledge or she "wasn't sure". Finally she appeared to give us the checks and again took ten minutes with our credit cards. I would think twice about going back here. If I ever go back

Not a good experience yet again.. The last time I was here the waitress spent all her time talking to a couple on the patio. I never was even offered a refill on my beverage. So the tip reflected the service. The next time I came here she came over to me to tell me she remembered me and that the service would be better inside.. This is how she greeted me strange. Then she tells me the waiters name and he would be right over... Why did she even speak to me at all? So I almost leave. But I want dinner so i order. The food comes . She brings it not my waiter and then I catch them both watching me eat it laughing behind the countertop Strange. Not only would I not recommend eating here I would call the board of health!!! Lol I could care less i ate it anyway. Screw them I have been in situations in my life when I had to eat worse then they could dream up..... Anyway on with my life

Brought my wife, my sister and her family from NY here during the 4th of July. I had the aged steak, my brother-in-law had the blue cheese burger and my wife the Durango burger, my sister a kind of salad. My steak was really good and my brother-in-law who frequents to Peter Luger steak house and brings us there many times before, loved it too when I shared my steak with him. However his burger I guess had too much salt from the rub they used. Otherwise, it was good just a tad too salty. When the manager came by and asked us how we enjoyed our food, we mentioned the saltiness of the burger. He was gracious enough and offered to replace the burger but we said it was all right, that we understand although my brother-in-law just had a couple bites and left the rest on his plate. The manager was so nice and removed the burger's charge from our bill and surprised us with three of their very good desserts: the cheesecake brulee, the mud cake, and key lime. They were all so good, but especially the chocolate cake and cheesecake. The service and food really tops in this place and we definitely will be back.

Extremely fatty NY strip, chile mac n cheese side was only warm when served. Service was good, but these prices I'd get a better meal at J Alexanders.

The food here is very very good! I had the onion ring appetizer which had a ton of flavor. My entree was the coconut shrimp. Man... It was amazing! When looking at the menu I had trouble on deciding what to order because it was all so appealing. That's a good problem to have! The service was fast and consistent without being overbearing. The only suggestion is to improve on their bread. It's really hard and has no flavor. Otherwise, top notch! I'll be back!

Went here for our anniversary. Service was awesome, out server was knowledgable and very friendly. Lobster spinach queso was amazing, 7 oz bacon blue cheese filet very good and au gratin potatoes were sinful. Loved the atmosphere, overall very nice experience.

1 of my new favorite spots in the Polaris area. I expected the prices to be much higher for the atmosphere and quality of the food. I had the fish tacos and they were bomb. But the side of Green Chile Macaroni and Cheese was the high lite. Definitely will be back! 4 star review because the wait staff was sub par.

Fried spinach was very good (and different). Quality of the cut of steak was so-so. I plan on going back to this restaurant for another try.

The food and atmosphere here is great! Two things, though: the lobster dip needed to have the lobster integrated throughout the dip, and the servers needed to have drink refills coordinated better. The lobster we got was one large chunk at the bottom of the queso dip. We kept trying to cut it up as we were enjoying it, but that was tricky. We had three servers refilling drinks, which meant no one did. Those are small issues though, and easily fixed. This is overall a terrific place to go!

Very good food. I read some reviews that said it was fairly inexpensive and I want to debunk that here and now. My prime rib was decently priced but by no means inexpensive at 25 for the smallest cut. Other than that I have nothing negative to say it was absolutely delicious. Plus a friendly wait staff firebirds is a definite must try.

Was very hesitant to give this a try due to the menu prices being quite steep. The food is delicious and top notch, well worth the prices. Our server, Courtney was very attentive and good at her job, ask for her when you go! The environment was very welcoming, not super bright or loud which made for a very enjoyable meal. Would highly recommend this restaurant!

Excellent atmosphere and great food our waiter Patrick was very nice knew the menu from front to back and since this was our first time coming here he helped us pick excellent meals for dinner. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and please ask for Patrick he will go above and beyond for you.

Tried Firebirds for the first time. Went with the Surf and Turf. Great choice. Filet was awesome and the lobster tail was even better. My wife had the prime rib and it looked very good. I tried her macaroni and cheese. Very good flavor. I really liked the green chile. Little more than I really wanted to spend for a week night meal, but it was really good. I will be back.

Great food and friendly service. Went for a late lunch with our young kids and they were moderately busy but service was not slow. Food was above average quality. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

What a great addition to the area. I am fortunate to travel and eat at top restaurants when I travel. Due to a crazy meeting schedule this week I had the opportunity to eat at J. Alexander's, Eddie Merlot's, Mitchell's Steakhouse, Columbus Fish Market and Hyde Park Sun thru Thur this week. So when the week ended it was my birthday and my wife and I went to Firebirds for the first time. It was excellent. The flavor of the Rib Eye was better than 2 of the 3 previous mentions. It reminded me of Charley's in Tampa (best steak ever) the common thing - both Firebirds and Charley's have a wood fired grill. Service (Patrick) was top notch! So for dinner I had the rib eye and added a lobster tail. For the side I had tater tots - YES tater tots, they were great, cooked to perfection. I thought the prices were fair compared to the high end restaurants in the area. Your price comes with sides while at the other places they are ala-cart. My wife had the chili rubbed steak - great flavor. Since this was our first time we ordered two appetizers, crab cakes and coconut shrimp. I would give them 3.5 stars each. good portions but a little too much filler in the cakes and the shrimp were slightly overcooked. All that said I would give them a 4 star rating - BUT they have my favorite drink the Greyhound (Vodka and grapefruit juice) WITH FRESH SQUEEZED GRAPEFRUITS! there is no comparison. So for that extra touch - 5 stars!

Service is five star. Food is five star. Atmosphere is five star. Went for my birthday celebration. Yes it is a little more expensive but worth every penny. I had surf and turf, hubby had ribeye, boys had prime rib and New York strip; all were great. I recommend the tater tots as a side and the appetizer lobster spinach queso. We did have reservations. I think this place is a new go to place for us!!

Much better experience the second time around. Great service and our meal was wonderful! Prime Rib was perfection and the port mushrooms were perfect! Our server was Harrison. He was knowledgeable and very accommodating to our requests.

I don't see what all the hype was about. Food was ok. Service was a disappointment. Not much different than an Outback Steakhouse except twice the price! Way overpriced for what you get!! Will probably give it another chance but nothing to rave about! I would place it in the same category of like a red lobster but way to pricey!

Decided to grab lunch at Firebirds today with some friends. The decor is really nice and would consider this an upper scale casual place. Lots of variety and price points on the menu. The service was good. They delivered some fresh bread with a crusty outer shell that seemed to be dusted with cornmeal and was really good. I ordered the portobello sandwich which was probably the best I have ever had. The roll was good and the portobello seasoned and grilled had a ton of flavor. I got a side of tater tots which were surprisingly really good...you think all tater tots are the same but these were better! Will definitely go back to try more...

Pretty disappointed all in all. First the good. The atmosphere is good if a bit loud. Our waiter was well informed and attentive. Our salads were good. I was not happy to have the tomato diced on mine as I really hate tomato and would like to have set it aside but that is a personal quirk and I do not hold the restaurant responsible for my not enjoying my salad. What they did do wrong was to significantly undercook my husband's Filet. While my prime rib was a bit more done than the medium rare I asked for, I was content to eat it as it was. My husband on the other hand was not at all comfortable eating the blue-rare steak he was served after asking for medium. So he sent the steak back. I was left eating 3/4 of my meal alone while my hungry spouse looked on. A manager came over and apologized and said they would take care of the problem, which they did, and it came out cooked correctly the second time. But not getting the temperature correct on a nice cut of meat is a rookie mistake for any restaurant and unforgivable in a steak house. Is there no one in the back of the house checking the temperature of food before it is served? At these prices there should be. And like I said the manager did apologize but he did not offer us anything off the bill nor did he offer any other other accommodation to make up for the kitchen's huge mistake. I would go back for a sandwich or salad but there are far more reliable places to get a steak.

Its a nice cozy place. I had the New York strip and a salad. The steak was under cooked but they took it back and fixed it without any questions. The steak was well prepared and seasoned. The grilling was also excellent. Overall a very good experience. We will returm.

Been here twice, first time went with my husband and we sat at the bar. Great experience, our bartender was really friendly and food was good. 2nd time went back w some girlfriends, food was still good but we got sat at the front. Needless to say it was pretty cold the whole dinner because there was people in and out all the time. Just make sure you don't get seated in the front during the winter time..

I had the filet kabob with parm mashed potatoes, delish! Hubby had prime rib with green chile mac and cheese. Daughter had half rack of ribs with mac and cheese, and parm mashed potatoes. We had the lobster spinach cheese appetizer and it was AMAZING! We enjoyed our dinner very much and will be back!! The service was great and the atmosphere was relaxing.

Worst steak I ever had. Really tough, a ton of fat and no flavor. Not worth the money. Wish I would have went to a real "steakhouse" like Hyde Park. It was so bad, my boyfriend tasted it and throw it out.

We rolled in around 9pm after getting a long wait time at J. Gilberts. We were fresh off a road trip and just wanted some good, substantial grub. From recommendations, we got the lobster queso and it was good. The chips were super thin so they kept breaking when we'd try to get a decent scoop in. The hubby got the prime rib and I got the peppercorn sirloin, medium well (a little pink in the middle). They let me sub out the loaded baked potato for the parmesan mashed potatoes, which was nice. The entrees came out and looked fine, pre-cut. I cut off a good slab for the hubby to try and on first crunch, he liked it, then the mass of whole peppercorns coating the steak kicked in and he almost choked. I took a bite and not only were the peppercorns whole (most places give you pieces of peppercorns), but the steak was well done (aka-dark brown) and was so salty, it was inedible for me. I scraped off the peppercorns to get down another bite or two but I couldn't take the salt. (I get the pepper burger at O'Reilly's so I can handle proper peppercorn coating.) I was hungry too. The hubby had a piece without the peppers on it and said he could see what I was talking about with being way too salty. I would've said something to the server but she never came back to check on us once we got our meals. Some other guy was making sure our waters stayed full so I guess she thought her job was done. So I loaded up on lukewarm potatoes and scratchy cornmeal coated bread. If I see someone has more than half their steak still on their plate, personally, I'd be asking if everything was okay but that's just me. The queso was good but not good enough for me to go back and drop $80 that doesn't even include dessert. Should've waited out the other place. It was unfortunately a bad way to end an already bad food day out of town. *kicks pebble*

Great experience! Decided to go here on a whim for date night! Really enjoyed it and had great service! We aren't ones to branch out a whole lot so we thought we'd go to j Alexander's bye decided to give it a try! Happy we did, because it was a cool environment. The food took a little longer then expected to prepare however the chef came over to inform us why. Nice personal touch, that was appreciated

We saw the place and thought it'd be a fun, new restaurant. Unfortunately, our waiter was rude and treated us terribly because we got cheaper meal options. He made us feel like we didn't belong there. We will skip out from now on.

Awesome place! This is my first visit and my wife and I truly enjoyed it. The atmosphere is great whether you going out on a date or doing lunch on a Sunday afternoon you are never under or over dressed. The servers were excellent! The young man that took care of us was outstanding. We never needed to ask for anything he anticipated our needs the whole time. He even kept up with the sweeteners my wife was using on her tea. He would notice which one she used and replaced them right away before refilling her glass.the food was timely and well made. Everything was perfect. The lobster and Spinach queso dip was excellent, very flavorful. We both ordered the 14oz aged ribeye. Mine was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I didn't need to add a thing. My wife's steak was however a little under cooked as she prefers her steak well done. It was clearly medium rare in most parts.. That was really the only mis-step of the whole experience. In closing the signature drink of double diamond pineapple martini was also great.. So good I had 2. I wouldn't recommend more than that, because they will sneak up on you. I will definitely go again.

My wife and I started it at the bar waiting for our table. Good wine selection, with sine on tap even :-). Good mixed drinks. Bar tenders are very friendly and prompt. We had the pretzels and Sam Adams beer cheese at the bar....phenomenal! For dinner I had the sesame crusted salmon with a ginger aioli, parmesan mashed potatoes and fried spinach....I love spinach, but have never had fried spinach. It was amazing. Imagine eating thin little spinach potato chips. Nice and crispy with a little salt to set off the taste. My wife had the wood grilled salmon. A nice wood fired Smokey taste. I definitely recommend coming here. We will be back for sure! The menu had everything from a $11 burger to filet mignon and even a surf and turf with lobster tail, so this restaurant.it's good for most all budgets for a nice dinner.

The food was great and the ambience was pretty great as well. The price isn't the greatest but I think it's worth it. One thing that got me was that I was given water when ordered sprite and the person I was with got my sprite. Well then they came by every two minutes trying to top off my full sprite with water. It was humorous but obnoxious too. It's new so those little errors will be good and I'll give it another try.

Very nice atmosphere. Staff is friendly, however a little too eager. When our plates were almost finished, bussers were by constantly asking is we were done yet. Also, the scallops we ordered were tasty, but not worth the price. Drinks were a little on the high end as well. not sure i would go back

Went here a couple weeks ago after seeing it opened in the area. We sat outside on the patio, pretty cool set up, nice and open. If the rest of the visit was as nice as the patio it would be 5 stars. Hostess was kind of pre-occupied and didnt seem all that interested in aknowledging us let alone smile. Service was a little slow, and the waiter for lack of a better word was douchey. Constantly with the upsells. My fiance requested a pino, summer evening, something crisp and cold. Asked what he would suggested, he looked at the menu and immediately suggested the most expensive white on the menu. Which would be fine if he even knew what it was or could tell us anything about it. He couldnt, just that "this one is good". I asked for a bottle of Miller Lite and got a look like I was some kind of cheapo that couldnty afford to eat here. Little did he know I also wanted a nice glass of Blantons, which he obviously didnt know what it was because he had to ask what that was again. I asked for on the rocks, of course came neat. Dinner ordering was very similar trying to upsell with no knowledge of the menu or anything on it, just what was the most expensive that would increase his tip. Fiance went with a steak, which she didnt finish. I had a burger, that was mediocre at best. Captain Douchey must have decided at some point he was done with us and asked us about desert about half way through dinner. Never offered a second round of drinks, or to see how our meals were. The desert sell was just as bad as the wine, he had no clue and told us the his favorite was an item they didnt even have. Cmon man, if youre going to sell me, at least be good at it. Overall bad experience, over priced for the quality, and the service was amateur hour. I joked that we should have walked down the street to applebees, at least they dont try to be something they arent.

Fantastic Place. From the first day I was invited to the soft opening and every visit and experience since, this place shines on staff, service, food and atmosphere. The owner is the nicest guy you will meet. If you want a meal from the casual burger to a place to celebrate special times of the year, Firebirds will deliver to all your needs.

I saw all the great reviews on this place and frankly it's horrible! The place should defiantly be $$$ because being a middle class person the prices are outrageous. The bread tasted of plastic. The lobster dip was ok, but tasted exactly like Joes double dip. My husband and I both got sandwiches bc that was it for a main corse under 20 dollars. I had the steak sandwich it was so salty and full of fat I couldn't hardly stomach it. My husband burger was a lot better, but the tater tots everyone is raving about well I've had better buying them from Kroger. We also watched one of the cooks put more wood on the fire then go back and touch the meat... That's not sanitary. When we got home my husband got really sick and I know it was from the burger. So please think about it before you decided to go.

Another chain joint. I got the wood grilled salmon and asked for the peach salsa and sauce that came with another fish item. The salsa and sauce were tasty and made the dish. The staff was great.

We had heard good things about this chain in other cities, so we decided to brave the "opening night" and made a reservation for 6:30. We arrived at 6:05 thinking it might be super busy, but it really wasn't. The hostess asked of we would like to take advantage of the happy hour specials in the bar until 6:30 then be seated for our reservation. We agreed and headed to the bar. I had the Firebird Perfect Margarita on the rocks and it was just that....perfect. We opted for the Kobe Pigs in a Blanket. Very good, but could be a little warmer in temperature. The two sauces that they came with were spicy and very tasty! I would buy these sauces for my home! While we were at the bar a couple of different bartenders gave us suggestions as to what is a good selection for our dinner. As we were paying for our bar tab, someone went to get a hostess to come to us to take us to our table. Nice touch. Our server was very personable, available and was knowledgeable about the menu and answered any questions we had. The bread that was offered while we waited for our dinner was hot and crusty which is just the way we like it! My husband decided on the ribeye after recommendations from two different people. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly! He got the tater tots as a side, which you wouldn't think of as a side in a place like this, but they were amazing with a salty spicy seasoning! I decided on the bacon wrapped filet with shrimp in a key lime butter. Again, steak seasoned and cooked to a perfect temperature! The shrimp, however, was quite bland. It came with a grilled lemon, which helped the flavor some, but I think I will skip the shrimp next time. A manager came by our table to see how everything was which was nice. We opted not to get dessert, since we got an appetizer, but will definitely do dessert next time as the carrot cake came highly recommended. The wine list is extensive and they have half price pours and bottles on Mondays! We made another reservation for later in the month!

We had a party of 5 that had dinner at their location in Columbus, OH. My wife and I have eaten at a number of there locations before this. The service, especially our waitress Sara, was exceptional. We basically went in for dinner the night before Thanksgiving and figured we didn't need to over due the food intake. Wrong! My wife ordered the Bleu Cheese Filet wrapped in bacon with a bleu cheese sauce and portobello mushrooms. She was in heaven. She allowed me a taste and it was delicious. My sister ordered the Sesame Crusted Salmon, which she said was very tasty. Her boyfriend ordered the homemade meatloaf and since he didn't offer any samples and the dish was lacking any remnants, I'm assuming he enjoyed it. I hadn't had ribs in quite a while, so I decided on that. It came with the usual fries and slaw. I couldn't tell you how the 2 sides were, since the full rack of ribs were excellent with a sizable portion. My opinion was it was a good value. Great place, great atmosphere and great service. Can't ask for much more than that.

This was my first time to Firebirds, and I was there for my birthday lunch today. The experience was wonderful, astatically the restaurant was very nice; and the food and service were great! My sister made a comment that it was my birthday in front of the server, when we were paying our bill the server also brought over a card to me that read happy birthday and was physically signed by the staff. I was blown away by this, although it was nothing huge the gesture was wonderful and they have gained a new customer for life based off this gesture alone. Also my sister shared with me that she took my niece (not even a year old) in the restaurant with her last time she went; originally she was worried about bringing her along because the restaurant at first impression does not look like it would be baby friendly. However, it is VERY baby friendly, she said everyone working made it a point to come over and see the baby and were all very kind; she also stated that both managers working came over also to talk, see the baby and talk about the little ones they have at home. This is not always the case, I worked many years in food service and often times families with babies are frowned upon; and in this case it was quite the opposite. Overall the experience was wonderful, and I will gladly go back again and recommend it to anyone who asks.

My wife have been at Firebird restaurant in Phoenix and loved it. She was excited that one opened in Columbus. We tried it Tuesday July 8th the place was busy. I ordered The wood grilled salmon and my wife ordered 16 oz prime rib I specifically asked the waitress is their any butter or margarine on the salmon she said no they only used oil. I asked to check for me and came back and said the chef said oil and seasoning. after i finished eating one of the Managers came by and asked how was our meal I told him the fish tasted salty and he said because they put lime butter on top I was pissed and he said he will tell the waitress but it was to late, the waitress came buy and told her she checked with the chef again and she said he should of looked at the recipe closer. I know the restaurant just opened and trying to get the kinks out but what happen if someone has an allergy and die because of some stupid mistake also the manager white caucasian with the beard was no help. We will try it one more time and give my revised review. also service was slow!

What a great newer restaurant at Polaris. My wife and I were seated shortly after arriving for our reservation. We tried the Chicken quesadilla as an appetizer. The tortillas on it had the right amount of crisp to them. The chicken was significantly spicier than expected. I believe it was made with a "buffalo" sauce. For the main course I had the Firebirds Chicken pasta. My entrée had penne pasta, chicken, bacon, green onions and tomatoes mixed with a delicious cream sauce. The meals are fairly large portions so I took about a third of it home. My wife ordered the Cilantro - grilled chicken breast. This dish really showed off how well they do at making something that tastes good while also being well presented. The entrée had parmesan mashed potatoes, a couple onion rings and a cheese based sauce. Overall we were both very happy with our selections and agreed that we would be making a return visit in the near future.

My husband and I have been to the Erie, PA location several times while traveling and were excited that they were expanding to Columbus! We were invited to their "soft opening" last week and were very pleased with everything! This is a great addition to the Polaris area. They are know for their steaks, cooked on a wood fired grill, yet they have a wide variety of options. I don't usually order prime rib, but went ahead since it was the special that night. Oh my... the best I've EVER had! The flavor was amazing, seriously fork tender, and perfectly cooked. Hubby had the smoked bacon wrapped beef filet and loved it, as they actually cooked it rare. The prices are fantastic for the high quality steaks, and sides are included. I had a great salad as well and we liked the option of wine being offered in 2 different size pours (either 5 or 8 oz). This really helps manage what you are drinking! With all of the steak restaurants in Columbus that are seriously overpriced, this is a welcome addition to the area! Atmosphere and bar are great too, and we can't wait to sit on the patio by the fire in the fall (it's still under construction). Can't wait to go back!

Really nice atmosphere for dinner. The noise level wasn't too bad and you could actually have a conversation. My filet was really good with the bleu cheese topping. The prices were consistent with other steak houses. Service was really good!

Went there for lunch with two friends and we had a great experience. The food was very good and the service was excellent! We asked to sit outside, while chatting and reviewing the menu are teeth started to chatter... We apologetically asked our server, Kristen, if we could move inside. She said that they could lower the 'doors' and they did!! Soon another table asked for the 'door' by them to be lowered too!! The doors have a clear panel in them so you can still see outside! I recommend this place we will be back!

I've been to Fire Birds a few times now, and finally decided to write a review about it and let everyone know how great it is. The first thing I noticed is the darker romantic environment which they pull off extremely well. I usually don't like dark places cause of vision problems but I didn't have any issues with not seeing anything. It's not loud therefore screaming at your companion asking them "what's good, what are you ordering" won't be necessary. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and made a lot of good recommendations that I'm glad I followed and his service was spot on. The experience was great. The first time I went to Firebirds I had one of their signature dishes Wood Grilled Salmon which was legit perfect. I freaking love salmon, so this review would've had the completely opposite vibe if the salmon wasn't good, but fortunately it was perfection. And my girlfriend had the Grilled Chicken and Strawberry Salad, which she let me try, and I was extremely jealous of. I waited for her to take it home cause of the large portion, she couldn't finish all of it, so you bet your ass she couldn't find it the next day, yummm. On my second trip, I had the Firebirds Chicken Pasta which was a little spicy for me but it was still sooo good especially with the Asiaho cream sauce it was covered in, while my girlfriend got the Grilled Tenderloin Salad which was even BETTER than the salad she got the first time! Everything was extremely good, and we finished off the amazing experience with a impressively served Creme Brulee Cheesecake. I definitely recommend this place to everyone. It can be casual and romantic at the same time, the atmosphere provides an ideal balance of the two. We agreed that you just can't lose coming here, every time it's a great experience. My ONLY recommendation is to maybe add in some shrimp or swordfish to the menu? Something more seafood-like, cause there's a shrimp salad option, but they're wasn't a dish for grilled shrimp or something along those lines. The menu is a little limited, but what they have on there is all delicious, so definitely try it all out!

Went here on a whim..... So glad we did.. Amazing service, drinks are always filled nearly 3/4 done. The wood fired grill taste certainly shows, and is excellent- amazing food, and atmosphere. Again, the service here is what I'd expect from a 5 star resturant. Great job!

Expensive. Very small portions. Lifeless food. Husband ordered "woodfired"salmon - received 4"x 2" piece of fish for $28 which had never seen any kind of grill - tasted microwaved. I had a $15 salad I could have better made in my own kitchen at home for free. For a restaurant called "Firebirds- woodfired grill" you'd expect they'd have several grilled offerings on the menu- at least a salad- Not so much. Service was available - they brought the food to the table- pleased we didn't have to go to the kitchen to get it ourselves. We left hungry and irritated - no problem though, BK drive thru held us down and our food was flame grilled there.

We ate here yesterday after watching a movie. My girl got a burger and I got the baby back ribs. Both were excellent and we had stellar service as well. I would definitely come here again although the main entree prices are a bit high, I am certain the quality is excellent.
