This is a must visit if you like Chicken'n waffles... "Oh so you want Chicken and Waffles... Would you like diabetes with that?!" Jim Gaffigan , The comedian said that, not me :) Thursday night is their $1 fried legs. If you like legs that should be your lucky night. Service is great, prompt, friendly, and location is spot on.

My co-worker and I were in town for a show at the convention center and came upon this place by accident. I can not say enough about the service and the food. Our waitress was great. Very knowledgable and friendly. The food she suggested was fantastic. We had 2 pieces of hand made fried chicken each, delicious Mac & Cheese and some of the best flavored green beans I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and stop in at Double Comfort. Not only is the food and the service fantastic, they also donate a meal for every meal ordered in the restaurant. Eat great food and help those in need. A win win!

We waited for 20 minutes to sit at tables that were open since we got there. People who came after us were seated before us. Then when we were finally seated it took them 10 minutes just to get our drink order then walked away as we were trying to order, I mean we had plenty of time to read their menu. Finally he came back around to get our order. 20 more minutes later we got our food, they mixed up 1 of our parties food and she had to wait an additional 10 minutes. The coffee was never refilled and one of the servers was blatantly ignoring us asking for service. The server named Marco was by far the worst server I have had in my life. He gave dirty looks flat out ignored us. Just pathetic. The food was awesome. So if you have half a day to waste sitting here this is a good place to go. 11:26am-1pm not cool guys. Not cool.

Whenever I'm really craving traditional fried chicken at home, Double Comfort is where I go. Juicy, crunchy and flavorful crust, and great sides. Go for breakfast/brunch for country ham and eggs plus the BUCKET OF MIMOSAS. What a great way to kick off the weekend.

Though I can't manage to time my visits to get chicken & waffles (which I hear are fantastic), I can say this is some of the best friend chicken I've had in Columbus. They also have lovely biscuits & other sides. I also love the mission of this place and they were super nice to my dog on the patio!

Everything we got was delicious. Fried chicken, pot pie, salads, collard greens, cornbread, Mac n cheese, it was all delightful!! We really wanted the Mac n cheese waffle, but they only have those on weekends....

I love Memphis style spicy fried chicken. This is about as close to what you get in Memphis as there is. Spicy, crispy, juicy, yum! Green beans and mashed potatoes made for very good side dishes along with some corn fritters as appetizers. Enjoyed it all with a Land Grant pale ale and I couldn't have been happier. Very good service to boot. The chicken was a tad spicy for Kim so maybe the roasted chicken might work a bit better for her next time. Can't wait to go back soon!

For some reason, I have an attachment to trying new fried chicken places even though I don't have a special penchant for it. I think part of me wants to find THE fried chicken - the one that will send me over the edge in happiness and tell me that yes, my quest to find the perfect fried chicken was totally worth it. Unfortunately, Double Comfort was not the place for that. However, I am going to give them 4 stars due to other menu items and the fantastic service I experienced. I took my sister here for a dinner date (my sister and I like to eat out a lot, don't judge), and this seemed to be a safe place. My sister isn't necessarily "picky" per say, but she won't be eating like a Chopped judge anytime soon either. While it was a Friday night, the place didn't seem to be too packed. I couldn't tell if it was a good or a bad thing. My thought process was that this place is in the hustle and bustle of N High, so it'd only get busier as the night went on. After all, it was only 6:30PM. As other reviewers stated, there's quite a wait for things. It took us nearly 10 minutes to be seated. Our "waiter", Phil, was actually the bar manager pulling double duty. He was definitely hustling and bustling between tables, and he did his best to be as attentive as possible to each and every patron. I wonder if they're naturally understaffed or if someone called off; either way, I still received excellent service. My sister and I started off with their version of poutine, which was topped with sausage gravy. Let me tell you, I will NEVER turn down some poutine. It's up there with being one of my favorite dishes, and their twist didn't disappoint. With the poutine being as delicious as it was, I thought I was in for a treat. I ordered the roasted and my sister went for the fried. She ordered a side of mashed potatoes and I went the mac and cheese route. I didn't enjoy my roasted chicken too much; it was overcooked and underseasoned. The mac and cheese though was my jam, and my sister didn't understand why I kept eating it even when I stated I was full. Her fried chicken was the same - a tad overcooked and not seasoned well enough. I also didn't care much for her taters. They were chunky and flavorless. The real star of the show was Phil. As busy as he was, he gave us a lot of attention. He was especially proud of his vodka, which came in 3 flavors (pineapple, tea, and jalapeno.) Let me tell you, I like my vodka, and the fact that he spent so much time and energy into making some different flavors was very interesting. My favorite was easily the pineapple as I have always disliked tea and the jalapeno flavor made me parched. However, if you like it on the spicy side or if you like tea, you will definitely like those two. All in all, the menu has some hit and misses. The alcohol selection is great and the atmosphere is awesome, and thanks to Phil I'll probably be back. I'll just order the poutine and mac and cheese and maybe stick to the bar.

Checked this place out for happy hour. Not really an extensive selection of beers, only 2 appetizers on special, and it smelled a little funky in there. However, the fried pickles we tried were fantastic. When I go in for a full meal I'll update!

After checking into our hotel for the Origins Game Fair, Jules and I had to find something to knosh on before whipping out the dice and minis. We immediately thought of the old Origins haunt, Barley's, but that place was packed to the gills. So, walking down High Street, we came upon a new place: the Double Comfort Restaurant. Having not seen this place before, we decided to give it a run. That's kind of the key to this review: I'd never seen this place before. Looking at their website now (which is unfinished as of June 2015), I'm under the impression that this place hasn't been around for very long, and they definitely weren't ready for the 16,000 geeks that descended on Columbus that week! When Jules and I arrived, we were greeted by an affable fellow in a bow tie...who promptly did not put our names in any sort of book or recording system. We waited there, in the entry, for nearly 20 minutes, before finally being seated. Double Comfort is well-decorated, in a sort of down-home, vintage Southern way, which was appealing...for a while. Our server took our drink order quickly, but time between drink orders and any other sort of orders (such as appetizers or our meals) took what seemed like forever. Food? Even longer. Jules settled on a shrimp po'boy while I indulged in the chicken fried steak with a mashed potatoes slathered in bacon/sausage gravy. We also ordered a "southern fried poutine"....which never arrived. Instead, we were presented with a platter of deep fried okra and other vegetables. Wrong, wrong, wrong. The food was stellar; I can easily given Double Comfort that much. I was ready to lick the plate clean of that delectable meaty gravy. Jules' po'boy looked delicious, and I don't even like shrimp! All told, our meal took nearly a full 2 hours from beginning to end. We were almost an hour late to our first gaming event, which left us fairly frustrated. Double Comfort's food is tasty, but it's just not worth that long of a wait. Give this place a pass until they get their feet under them and their service time can get under an hour. The food's good, but the wait's not worth it.

This place has amazing food, drinks and dessert. We came here on a whim after the places we intended to visit on High street were closed. Double Comfort has great staff and service, locally sourced ingredients, and an overall pleasant vibe. We tried the Ginger Peach, and Lavender Gin Fizz cocktails, both were a delight. The Chicken n Waffles are to die for, seriously, as well as the Lemon Lavender house made ice cream. The chef is a genius mad scientist who is apparently finishing her Masters degree in Culinary Art at OSU. Do your self a favor and check this place out. We will be coming back again very soon. A++

Been here several times. The only I dont like is the pork in the four of the side dishes. Sides that have pork are red beans and, rice, cornbread, and greens. Should have asked first wasn't informed about the pork. If pig parts scare you please ask server for sides that dont contain pork, All of my faves contain pork and I was a bit disappointed I couldn't eat much of it. Music is great. If this place was larger it would be a fabulous places for live jazz and blues.Overall my experience was great. Chicken is well spiced and is very flavorful. I like the choices of fried or baked both are wonderful.

I've gone to Double Comfort several times since they opened, and I've always teetered between 3 and 4 stars... until today. THEY HAVE GLUTEN-FREE FRIED CHICKEN. THEY HAVE A BUCKET OF MIMOSAS AT BRUNCH. Done. 4 stars. Okay, so seriously--those two factors are well worth 4 stars for me. Nobody else in town (that I know of) does gf fried chicken, and can I tell you how amazing that crunchy, greasy deliciousness was?! It'll take a little longer than normal, but I promise it's well worth the wait. They fry it in a dedicated cooker (brownie points), and the chicken turns out flavorful, juicy, and perfect. And that bucket of mimosas? It cost $24, and 4 of us split it with each getting two glasses. I think that's a fantastic deal! So why have I been wishy washy on my rating until now? Double Comfort isn't perfect. You can read some of the reviews that talk about this. I've never had a bad experience, but I've definitely had some things go awry. But they have tons of heart. Loads of it. They're a social enterprise that aims to feed the hungry (not just the hungry customers). They're also incredibly lovely people. I have never met anyone working there who was less than stellar. The people take feedback like pros, and they are genuinely concerned about your experience. Just today, the chef came out to personally bring my freshly-fried chicken and to let me know to wait a few minutes before digging in. He noticed my breakfast potatoes were a tad too overcooked, and he voluntarily brought me new ones! IMO, Double Comfort shines with traditional Southern staples: fried chicken, greens, etc. It's when they step outside of that Southern comfort zone that things can go south (and not in a good way). But if you want to share some delicious fried chicken or a bucket of mimosas--count me in.

Had brunch here last Sunday and enjoyed the meal very much. We were headed to the North Market, as we had heard advertisements about a flea market taking place there and we do love a good flea market! We arrived early, (9:30am) so instead of waiting until 11:00am for HOT CHICKEN TAKEOVER to open, we went out to High street in search of breakfast. Less than 1/2 a block from North Market, we found Double Comfort. At first glance it looked like a bar, with about 12 tables set up for food service, but they did offer a brunch menu, so we took the chance and walked in. The staff was friendly and quickly seated us at one of the smaller tables. Menus were handed out and we noticed things like "Mac & Cheese Waffles" and Fried Chicken & Waffles...it all looked good. My wife decided on the Fried Chicken & Waffles and I went the country route, with biscuits & gravy, 2 eggs over-easy & fried potato's. Here was my only complaint about this restaurant. The time between placing our order and getting the food was a bit too long. Granted, it did look like a larger party had got their orders in before ours was placed, but I also heard them complaining about the wait time, so we weren't the only ones. Once the food did arrive all was well! If the food had arrived quicker, I would have had no problem with giving this place 5 stars. BTW, after leaving the restaurant and heading back to the Flea market, I must say it was a big let down. There were only 15 or so "dealers" and none of the items they were offering had much appeal for persons of my generation. We did have fun wandering around North Market though!

What is it about five star reviews this week? I rarely give them out, especially at super-hyped places. But this is a winner. We'd been meaning to go here for awhile. We decided on Cajun for a date night, and this seemed to somewhat fit the description, so we dropped in. We were a bit worried about being able to get in at 8 on a Friday in the Short North, especially when parking was hard, but they weren't very busy. It filled up while we ate, so maybe we got there before the rush. Sweetie took driver's ed with the chef, but he wasn't there and we didn't tell anyone till the end. Neither of us would let that kind of thing influence a review anyway. Well, if it had been bad, we would just discuss it between ourselves and practice "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" in public. It was great. I mean, really great, start to finish. Massive pros, few cons. We started with corn fritters- good, especially when paired with the remoulade or the chowchow. We both had sweet tea- darn good. She had a plate of side dishes: red beans and rice, mac and cheese, and greens. I tasted each, and we pretty much agreed about them. The red beans and rice were amazing- I don't remember having any that good in New Orleans. The perfect blend of flavors and textures, with just-right rice topped with beans that were tender but not mushy, and packed with flavor. The mac and cheese was very very good. Not Sweetie's-mom's good, but almost, and in a slightly different style. The pasta and sauce were very creamy, plus there was a slice of cheese on top with some green onions. The low point was the greens. We both love collards, and these were more of a mix. She didn't like them at all, I thought they were decent but unspectacular. Still good greens, just not our thing. I was all over the menu. I thought about the much-loved chicken, but we just got our HCT swag in the mail and haven't been there in a while so maybe I was feeling too loyal to them to try someone else's. The special was a turkey pot pie, which sounded good but just wasn't what I was in the mood for. Then I saw it- chicken fried steak. Sweetie already knew that was what I was getting, especially when she saw the gravy: two meats, bacon and sausage. The waiter added that there's also ham. So, yeah. I had to. It came with perfect mashed potatoes- barely mashed, and subtly flavored. The steak was good- thin, tender, with a great crust. The gravy was fantastic: thick, packed with flavor (and meat,) and not enough to overwhelm everything else. We had to have beignets for dessert, even though we had leftovers. The beignets themselves were very good. Lightly dusted with powdered sugar. And then I dipped one into the caramel sauce... and stopped in mid-sentence. Anything that keeps us from talking (or looking at our phones) is a rarity. And this stuff did it. There were moans. Meaningful looks. Long silences... Prices are a little high, but worth it for the quality of food. Plus they donate some every night to a specific charity. They use lots of local ingredients. Service was great- friendly, efficient, and unobtrusive, just the way I like it. We did end the meal talking with our server about his upcoming trip to New Orleans, and shared some tips. Just a great meal all around.

I had a great experience at double comfort! They are trying a new initiative of being a non-profit restaurant their first year, and donate a meal for every meal purchased to a local food bank. That right there is already a cause worth supporting but it helps that the food is pretty awesome too. I tried the fried chicken meal with cole slaw, Mac n cheese and sweet potato fries. The chicken was fried perfectly, and very well seasoned. The bird was juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside just like I like it. The slaw was light on the mayo which I am also a fan of. The Mac n cheese was warm and baked deliciousness worth every penny. We also tried the fried shrimp po'boy which was on point. The sandwich had a delicious remoulade and was dressed perfectly. They didn't skimp on the shrimp either which is also a huge plus. Overall a great experience here and will definitely be back to eat here again!

1st visit. Tonight I think was a bit busier than the 1 server & 1 bartender expected. Our server, Marco was very apologetic & accommodating. He was attentive when necessary. Place is quaint, bench seats are a bit uncomfortable but they are wood. Place was clean & well lit. Food; was pretty good. Not spectacular, but good. Fried chicken was of course great, this is their signature dish, best be. Flavorful, not any part soggy, & not swimming in grease. Shrimp po boy was good, bread was fresh, perfectly crispy & soft. Shrimp was good, I would've wanted more sauce. Mashed potatoes were tasty, but luke warm. Bacon cornbread is a must Not. Dry, no flavor, & just meh. Spend your $4 on something else. Chicken fried steak was 2/5, too seasoned, which takes away from the dish. I highly recommend everyone trying this place once, everyone taste buds are different, as well as every day. Enjoy! Ps. One meal purchased, one meal is donated to an area food bank, so no matter the experience, you're helping a person in need.

I had a great dining experience at Double Comfort! The service was very quick and friendly. At each table is a small bowl of pickled vegetables (pickles and corn) to snack on. This was pretty neat to snack on while going over the menu. We ordered the fried pickles, brussels sprouts, mac & cheese (per the waiter's suggestion), a 2-piece fried chicken (white meat) meal ($10- comes with lots of fries, slaw, and toast), and a 3-piece fried chicken (dark meat) meal ($12). And sweet tea! With every order you place, Double Comfort donates meals to the needy. This made me feel better about stuffing my face with soul food. Everything we had was terrific. The fried pickles came with a delicious dipping sauce, the brussels sprouts were great, and the mac & cheese was the best side we ordered (it's very cheesy and delicious!). Definitely try the mac, and next time I will order some corn bread. The chicken was awesome, but not the absolute best I've ever had. It was seasoned to perfection and very crispy, and the inside was still very juicy! We sat outside, and countless passers-by were practically drooling at the sight and smell of our food. I thought the price was very good for the generous portion. FYI- The menu has much more than fried chicken to choose from (like po' boy sandwiches, which I will probably try next time).

THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: MIMOSA BUCKETS. I REPEAT, MIMOSA BUCKETS. Leave it to Yelp to point us to the quintessential brunch place for your girlfriends. Two words was all we needed: mimosa buckets. And it was true! $24 for approx. 6 glasses. For those doing the math, that comes out to $4/mimosa. You can't beat that, folks. The food was good ole southern cookin'. Between the six of us, we had the Mac & Cheese Waffle, Fruit & Yogurt Waffle, Chicken & Waffles, Biscuits & Gravy, and Ham & Eggs. Maybe it was cause we were all starving, but we demolished every single one of 'em. (And for those wondering, like we were, the Mac & Cheese Waffle is actually just mac & cheese cooked in a waffle iron and topped with scrambled eggs and hot sauce. It actually had a hint of sweetness and not entirely what we expected, but still worth a taste -- especially if you're mac & cheese connoisseurs like ourselves.) I will say, they may have taken the "southern" theme a little too literally, as service was a tad slow (especially considering the restaurant was anything but busy) and we legitimately waited 20 minutes for a menu (while sipping mimosas, so we could hardly complain). We adored our waiter, Marco, though, and were in anything but a hurry, so they still get my 5 stars. I don't live in Columbus, but oh my, I cannot wait to go back.

I read a lot of reviews before deciding to go here and came to the conclusion that we should only go if there were no time constraints involved. I was glad that I made that decision after coming here for lunch on a Saturday around 1pm. It took about 10 minutes to be seated (in a fairly empty restaurant) and even be acknowledged for service. My first impression was not the best since the first thing handed to us was a crumpled up piece of paper with food stains and grease on it. Either print fresh menus for your customers or laminate them or use plastic sleeves that can be wiped off and cleaned. We were given a brunch menu, which I had not expected, and were told they did not switch to the lunch menu until 2pm. Service was extremely relaxed, or serve kept walking away leaving us with unexpected breaks during the ordering process and actually seemed to be encouraging us to just sit and drink instead of worrying about eating. None if us are really drinkers though so that just want appealing or appreciated. After we finally ordered it took another 30 minutes to get our food. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with potatoes. I found the biscuit to be rather flat and dry (not a southern flaky biscuit). The gravy was good and had plenty of sausage, bacon and even ham in it. The potatoes however were almost burned. I had to point this out to the server, which he then offered to replace. My husband had the chicken, it was tender and juicy. The chicken was not very spicy as some reviews had led me to believe but I could taste a hint of pepper in it. The fries were pretty generic and nothing memorable, just a standard basket of shoestring potatoes. My husband had the sweet tea which he enjoyed, but we had several issues with that as well. When he asked for a refill they brought him a coke instead of sweet tea. We had to flag someone down to get this corrected. The second glass did not taste the same as the first so there appears to be no consistency in how each batch is prepared. Overall the food was good, the service very spotty and time consuming, and I question what other corners they may cut to save money in the back based on the menu condition. I'd give it another try if I have plenty of time to spare.

Double Comfort gives my belly a warm hug. Ten thumbs up. I went with a group of my coworkers to check out the place and the food is impeccably fantastic. Everything I had was amazing. Seriously. No jokes about it. The guy who took care of us told us that every meal that is purchased, a portion of the proceeds goes to a local food pantry/kitchen. So while you're stuffing your face, you'll also be helping someone else in need which I think is a great idea. I had the roasted chicken, mac and cheese and a side salad...and I'll tell you what: best damn chicken I've ever had (sorry Mom). We also did the fried okra, pickles, etc. appetizer and had the pickled veggies too. EVERYTHING. IS. DELICIOUS. Oh, and you can buy the folks in the kitchen a round of beers for $5 (if I recall correctly)...so of course, our group did that too. And now, after writing this review makes me feel like an idiot for not stopping in for brunch today. I've heard raves about that as well. Well, looks like I already know what I'm doing next weekend...

I'll be honest, I don't understand why Double Comfort has so many excellent reviews, as it's really just not that good. The first time I went there, I left after an hour without having received my food, but they had just opened, so I wanted to give them another chance. The second experience was better, in that I received my food. But it wasn't that much better. My wife and I went for dinner and had really mediocre food. We started with the poutine, which wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. It's hard to make poutine anything less than amazing in my book, but this was just meh. My entree was the chicken fried steak. It just wasn't good. It was crumbly and completely devoid of flavor. In DC's defense, the mashed potatoes it was served on were excellent, but that still doesn't excuse the lousy chicken fried steak. My wife had the shrimp po boy and a side of jalepeno cornbread. I've never eaten blander cornbread. No flavor whatsoever. My wife said the po boy was decent, but it's unclear how a simple sandwich with a side of Sysco potato chips should cost nine dollars. I guess that's the overhead of their location, but if so, they really should have found a spot in Italian Village or something. Which brings me to the space itself. I know they tried to make it seem down-homey, but it doesn't. It feels like a cold, generic space. The service was okay. We had a really bro-ey server who was pleasant and hustled, but was just kind of douchey. He tried to explain to the next table the origin of the po boy, and it was clear he had no idea, but he just kept digging deeper and deeper into the BS. And he talked about how they should order Zomber beer (I assume Zauber?). Really dumb, but he tried hard. I've had so many people talk this place up to me, but my two experiences have both been disappointing. I just don't see any reason to go back.

UPDATE: I have since received a very kind phone call and apology from the general manager. The least I can do is meet them halfway and visit again and give them a second chance based on this level of response from the manager. Thus, I changed my review from 1 star to 3. I will preface my review to say that I am not someone who has ever worked in the food service industry but I have worked retail service so I understand unruly customers. Additionally,I am a public school teacher so I work with the general public on a daily basis. I have the highest regard for our public service workers. And on Yelp, I only review if things are exceedingly good or bad. Tonight's experience was the latter. This was my third time coming here but only my first coming with a large party. I either blocked out the restaurant's peculiar "we cannot do individual checks" policy or it was not an issue on those first two visits. The food, first of all is quite good. The chicken can be somewhat greasy (I am from SC, so yes, I know what good fried chicken tastes like) but overall is quite nice. The large party I came in with tonight had a reservation and all of the members save 2 came in at the same time. Everything was going well in the evening with the service until we were recommended to order two Big Cluckers (at $28) to accommodate our large party. From that kind of recommendation, I would have assumed that meant the check could be split. Apparently, that is "not how their system works", which became our server's mantra as the evening progressed. To me, that is a convenient excuse for incompetency. Our table was given water and drinks and carafes of water and iced tea, but no refills ever came after the food was served. Our server was attentive in the beginning but after our food came, it was like he wanted nothing to do with us. Perhaps that was because he left out multiple items in at least 3 people's food orders, and left us all with a feeling that he was subconsciously blaming us for his clear lack of being able to handle a large party. Either way, I was beginning to feel we were to blame for his inadequacies at his job. It was only when the check arrived that we were told it could not be split. At least 3 members of our table did not eat from the two large cluckers - which he was aware of - and yet they still were forced to pay based on this restaurant's antiquated system. Every other restaurant I have ever been to in Columbus has told me what their policy is with checks for large parties at the start. And considering we had a few people at our table with food service industry experience, this was kind of a large oversight on our server's part. Our server then did a clumsy attempt at splitting the bill, which we were told would take a while, once again emphasizing in a not so subtle way that this was our fault and not his nor the restaurant's. After at least 15-20 min of waiting for the bill to be taken care of, two of us - myself included - were told in a round about way how it was our fault that he messed up on how he split my and another person's bill. We were even told that because "we all came in so sporadically " - Uh making a reservation and 2 people coming in about 20 min after the party is sporadic? - this was why everything was so screwed up with the bill. At this point, his tales of incompetency were of no interest to me. It disappoints me to give such a negative review as the food truly was quite good. The ambiance of the restaurant is great and the hostess was very kind. Our server even started out very kind and informative. It was once he began to realize his own errors - not telling us he could not split checks, encouraging us to order something for a large party he knew we could not split, becoming upset with us because we were basically making him do his job - that he basically gave a bad name to his restaurant and the entire Short North. I shall not be returning to Double Comfort, nor recommending it to anyone I know. In fact, I will be vehemently discouraging people from coming. It is a shame, especially given the dearth of southern food establishments in town, but I cannot subject anyone I know or like to this type of incompetence just to get some battered chicken.

We stumbled in here during comic con (but not in costume) and even though it was packing (always a good sign) we were able to get a table after sitting at the bar for awhile. Our server was dressed as one of the Blues Brothers and he was THE nicest guy we've had wait on us in a long time! And he was efficient too. But the food? Oh heck yeah! Good good good fried chicken. Fried but not grease sliding down your arm you need a ton of napkins fried. And good and hot and just the right amount of spices. I didn't care that "reports" say fried food isn't the best for you. This was the first time we've had fried chicken that was worth the price of admission (which wasn't that expensive - another bonus point) Everything we ate was good, even those pickled veggies in my salad which now have me wanting to try and pickle my own at home. I would go back here in a heart beat and bring friends! I've got my eye on you chicken and waffles.

Just not that good. Service is slow. Very slow. Had to ask for napkins and silverware (seriously, wtf?). I got the GLT (goat cheese, lettuce, tomato) sandwich with an egg. The lettuce on the menu was described as fresh local greens. It was iceberg lettuce. And the beignets were NOT beignets.

Not impressed - but this is mostly for the service. Went for a friend's birthday, and since I am a vegetarian, I researched the menu before going and had already planned ahead. After the waiter suggested big buckets of chicken for the whole table (we had a large party), I made it clear that I was not eating the chicken, and he almost seemed offended. I explained that I don't eat meat, and did this to make sure that I wouldn't be charged for the chicken. At this point I was a little nervous the chicken would just be split and I would end up charged, but I figured that could always be taken care of when the check came, if there was a problem. I was wrong. We had a huge mix up with the check because the waiter assumed that our party of 11 was all on one check, which is weird to begin with. Then there were all kinds of issues with splitting the checks, because he said "it couldn't be done at this point," even though he never asked us how the checks were split, nor told us that people couldn't just pay for their own meals from the big check. It was definitely made to seem like it was our fault. I eventually paid for only my food, but I couldn't pay for my part of the tip because the gratuity was only added to the chicken-eaters' checks - I have to pay them back for that. I was disappointed. The salad was okay, but I wasn't expecting it to be great from a southern chicken joint. I loved the idea of this restaurant, and my friends loved the chicken. The experience would have been a lot better had we been told up front the check policy - that is something you need to inform large groups about.

Excellent fried chicken. I had the fried pickles, Mac and cheese and a fried breast. All was great. The mac and cheese is spicy though, so watch out. The service was fast and friendly. Our waitress did a nice job explaining the menu and helping us pick or items being our first time here. Food came out fast, hot and tasty. We had a widow seat on a Thursday night. It was a good people watching location too.

I don't know what took me so long to go here. I was across the street at the Convention Center picking up my packet for a race the next day. I needed to carb load and what better choice than a biscuit? The inside is adorable and the staff efficient. The dining companion and I split the fried green tomato and goat cheese biscuit, the chicken and hot pepper jelly biscuit, and mac and cheese waffles. The waffles were the sleeper... what a surprise. How they get the mac and cheese to come out so well in the waffle batter is beyond me, but I will take it. Reasonably priced too. Also, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the donations that day went to Broad Street Presbyterian Church food pantry (my church, so bonus!) These are carbs I can feel good about eating.

The only complaint I have is that we waited forever to get our food. It's a small restaurant but we had plenty of room even with our stroller and baby. I had The King sandwich and it was freaking delicious, and I was neither drunk nor high lol. The pork rinds were also amazing. I would like to go back and try the chicken and waffles sometime.

This was an awesome pre-Christmas brunch that I'm sorry I didn't write about sooner. We came in just in time to have some brunch. Wow. Saturday apparently is the day to go or maybe it was the holiday. In any case, there wasn't much of a wait. We really had a hard time deciding on our meals. I can't find the brunch menu offhand- hubby and I both had the eggs/ham/biscuit combo that was incredibly satisfying and filling. I had a traditional mimosa, too while he enjoyed their beer selection. For dessert (it was brunch, we totally can splurge) he had the key lime pie (tasty, nothing too overly fantastic) and I did the beignets (really decent portion, plenty to share, splurge for caramel dipping sauce, I personally think it was worth it). Overall, the decor is a little stark, but I like the concept (we buy a meal, they give $$ to feeding Ohio's hungry). Plus, the food was very honest, fresh, unpretentious and I think really tasty. Next time I'd love to try their fried chicken- the ham and eggs were just too tempting for brunch. And maybe I'll convince hubby to do that bucket of mimosas instead of their awesome beer.

So apparently this place is still rather new. The bar tender Russ suggested the appetizer of the day. It was a corn cake covered in pulled chicken and a a very vinagery slaw. It was awesome, a great balance of heat, sweet and acid. They call it a Johnny cake. I put my dinner choice in the bartender's hands. He served me a great...and huge, chicken fried steak Po boy. Lots of pickled peppers and perfectly cooked steak. I'm a Jersey boy and still really appreciated this slice of the south...well done Double Comfort. P.s. They have a bourbon, coffee and BACON infused syrup on their brunch menu...I know where I am having brunch this weekend

Came here for brunch on Saturday (9AM-2PM) and enjoyed their chicken & waffles with their 3 sins syrup (maple syrup + bourbon + coffee + bacon) & also ordered a side of their bacon cornbread. All together it came to be about $17. The food preparation was quick and we really enjoyed the friendly and efficient service. best southern food in Columbus!

Love love love. This place is awesome. First off they donate all of their profit. They donate all of the proceeds to local food pantries. Seriously, even if it wasn't that good it's a concept I would support. BUT...BONUS...it is delicious! I went for brunch where they have a special menu so I'm anxious to go back for their regular choices. I had the bacon sausage gravy and biscuits with two eggs and bacon. Seriously my heart hurts a little just writing about it. And I really wanted to try their fried chicken so I got a breast on the side. Really, who does that? That would be me. To my credit I just had a bite and the rest will be my dinner. It was tender, flavorful and juicy. The people are so nice and inviting. Our service was great and food was fast. I don't understand the people that get all crazy if the timing is just a little off. Things happen. People call in. Sometimes all the orders come in at the same time so, even if there are empty tables, it can stress a place. Calm the **** down. Between this and Hot Chicken Takeover I am going to have a heart condition. But I will die happy.

Was visiting Columbus with my boyfriend, and wanted a good quality breakfast before heading out. This restaurant looked good and had decent reviews. We were very disappointed in the service. They took our order as soon as we sat down, but never came back in the 40 min it took to bring our breakfast to check on us or see if we needed anything. I wanted to order a mimosa, but the waitress never even looked our way after we ordered! It was extremely hot inside the restaurant, and we could not understand why it took so long to get some eggs and a biscuit. When the food finally came the order was wrong. I tried to explain to waitress what was wrong but she was very rude so we decided to just let it go. The food was good, but because of the bad service the experience was not what we hoped for.

Went for lunch. Was excited to order off the brunch menu and then found out they weren't serving it at that time. Ordered the fried chicken po' boy and collard greens. The sandwich tasted like a chicken sandwich from Burger King (with 3X the price tag) and the greens hadn't been cooked down long enough, so they were still very sour from the vinegar. The side was also tiny given the $4 price tag. I will try again to order off the brunch menu because it sounded good, but otherwise, I will not be returning.

ĪSecond trip to this restaurant with the same experience. Great food with horrible service. After our first experience we thought we would try it again. We stood in the entrance for 14 minutes while seven tables were open. No one said a word to us. Once seated, it took an hour and fourteen minutes to get our food. The appetizer was served with the meal. This was at noon on a Thursday. Others around us had similar wait times. This place will never stay in business.

I was looking for something quick and saw on yelp that it was comfort food. I didn't realize it was almost entirely fried chicken and sides, but that was ok. Both my father and I agreed that this restaurant has the potential to be at least 4.5 stars. But every single item we ordered (about 5) were dramatically under seasoned. The chicken was perfectly crunchy and moist---but seriously under seasoned. The mashed potatoes, french fries, macaroni and cheese...all of it lacked much taste. I hadn't used a salt shaker in a year and had to use a lot of salt, pepper, and hot sauce on all of it. I actually had everything wrapped up so that I could season it myself at home--and it was great! This was my only time eating here so I don't know if it was just the night or what. We just both thought it was really weird that they would even want to serve food this bland. Everything looked great and was perfectly cooked....just blah.

I wish I could write my review about the food, but unfortunately I can't. I had looked forward to trying Double Comfort. We went around 12 today after being at the All Star Fan Fair. We went in were seated quickly and told a server would be with us. We waited for 10-15 minutes, no one came, we did not even have anyone come to take our drink order. As we were getting up to leave, I believe the manager had asked had anyone helped us. He was nice and apologized several times, but our minds were made up. I could understand if they were slammed, but there were several open tables. Hopefully I'll be able to give them a second chance and update this review.

The service was a little slow and I got a "too cool for school" vibe from two of the servers. I love that they donate a meal to the food bank for every meal purchased. Great beer selection and drink menu. Tasty comfort food but it's not something I'll have to come back for.

The food took almost an hour to get out! When you're competing with the likes of Hot Chicken Takeover who has time for that? The servers were less than stellar and un organized. The restaurant is tiny but still they were slammed with 60% occupancy. It's sad because the food is good but at this point that isn't enough. The servers were laughing and playing around when the food still wasn't ready. The food came out incorrect as did the check, and our waiter was the bar manager LOL. Hire a good manager and get your real menus instead of those awful paper ones. All in all- step it up!

Spectacular food and friendly service. Fried chicken was so fresh, chicken pot pie was the best I'd ever had. Key lime pie better than anything we had in Key West and bacon-bourbon-coffee homemade ice cream not only works, it's amazing! Highly recommend this place! A chef who really cares about quality.

Let's start with the good--I'm from the south and I loved the food. I went for Sunday brunch with my two kids and a group of friends so between us we sampled a lot of food. I don't think anyone was disappointed. The biscuits, waffles, chicken, ham, greens, gravy, mac'n'cheese were all good and tasted freshly prepared. The only food item I took issue with were the tiny, hush puppy sized beignets. Beignets need to be bigger and square in my book but they were fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside and we aye them all so I guess I can't really complain. The service was a whole other story. First, it wasn't very full when we got there but it took a while to get seated, and then when our waiter came to take drink orders (I second the pitcher of mimosas being a good deal, and would like to try the bloody mary) I was going to order for the kids at the same time, but our waiter disappeared before I could. When he came back I ordered for the kids.....and then we waited and waited and waited. Eventually the mac'n'cheese and beignets came out, and it was all delicious (albeit too hot for my kids to eat right away, which is usually a good thing) but my kids were crazy ravenous and after we all ordered (and waited, and waited) I had to get seconds for my bottomless pit 3yo. Then once the food came out, it was pretty mixed up for anyone who got a side. My husband got a side of chicken that came out ten minutes after the rest of the meal, a friend ordered a side of bacon at the server's suggestion and then had to ask him twice about it, and somehow we ended up with some extra biscuits. A couple of our party were convention-goers who needed to get back and had asked right at the beginning for their checks to be brought with their meals, and they also had to anxiously keep asking about their checks and if we hadn't been literally across the street, they would have been late. Once they left, we were sitting waiting for quite a while with no questions about whether we would like more drinks (I think the coffee drinkers got one refill...maybe...and given how hungry and tired my kids were, I think I could have drank another pitcher of mimosas myself) but someone came over and asked if they could clear that half (which was it's own table pushed with ours) but assured us they weren't trying to rush us out. We all looked at each other.....clearly, because we were trying to rush OURSELVES out and weren't getting much help! Eventually my husband had to take the kids to the car while I settled the check because they just couldn't handle it anymore--and I don't blame them since lunch took two hours! I realize that a bigger party is difficult, but I felt like we politely conveyed our priorities of getting the kids fed fast, enjoying our food, and then getting out the door before everyone melted down, and our server just wasn't picking up what we were putting down. I definitely would think twice before taking my kids here again, even though they loved the food, because the slow service made it so hard to enjoy! I feel like I do my part to have my kids well-behaved by ordering for them right away so they don't get bored and hungry, and then keep them entertained, but my server has to help me out! I'm trying to avoid children melting down for all of our sakes! Surely this is a task you would like to aid me in! And when servers don't, it makes the meal MUCH less enjoyable for me, and I am much less likely to return!

I stopped in at DC late on a Saturday afternoon. After checking the menu out online I was pretty interested in the touted southern preparation of their food. The restaurant maybe had 2 parties of 2 and the service was still very slow. I ordered a few pieces of roasted chicken, the southern style greens, the mac and cheese and the jalapeno bread. Everything was subpar. I was most taken aback by the size of the chicken. for $2-3 per piece, I was expecting at least a regular sized piece of chicken. I received 3 pieces that were no bigger than buffalo wings. The mac and cheese lacked meaningful flavor, the jalapeno bread was just OK and the greens were edible after adding some seasoning myself at home. Being from the south I couple potentially be very particular about claims to southern cuisine, but this place just doesnt provide any of what they claim. I know its hard to find southern style, comfort foods in Columbus, but this place gets 2 thumbs down.

Perhaps a bit overrated. I enjoyed my food, particularly the southern green beans, but the chicken was a bit salty and the fried chicken thighs were a bit under cooked. That's not a big deal, thighs are hard to cook and it happens to the best of us. I'd like to see a little more of a menu, and perhaps a couple chef-assembled meals. I like a la carte and all, but connecting the dots between several items with a nice pan sauce or some homemade gravy would be a great idea.

I have to travel some to get to Double Comfort, but it is always worth the trip. It combines just enough ambiance with a casual feel that makes dining there seem special without being fussy. We are always met cheerfully at the door and seated without much delay. The service is attentive and knowledgeable, but never pushy. Of course, the food is the star of the show. When they offer a "special" menu, you can be sure the chef has gone all out. Your entree will, indeed, be special, but remember you can never go wrong with the chicken! (Oh, and don't pass up the hazelnut kale salad if it's offered. Mmmmmmm!) Finally, you will get something extra when you spend your money here because it can't help but make you feel good to know that part of your check will go to feed the hungry. This place is win, win, win!

I think I had the worse meal in in a very long time. When we got there several groups were dining, so service was slow. ( That was O.K.) When we finally ordered, it took "forever" to get our meals. On their behalf they gave us a complimentary bean appetizer, but still was a long time to get dinner. When we finally got our meal, I had to send the chicken back because it wasn't done inside. It took 15 minutes to get the chicken back, and the breading was on the verge of being burnt. There was no apology from management either. Then we couldn't get the waitress's attention to get our check. They didn't seem to be very organized because they couldn't accommodate larger groups and provide service to other clientele at same time. We were also disappointed overall in the food as it did not have the flavor we expected in "southern" dishes. We won't be returning.

I love this place. Definitely try it if you like comfort food/southern cooking or great mixed drinks. They donate all profits, as others have mentioned, and are the friendliest people around. I'm inclined to recommend any of their bourbon mixed drinks, and the steak I had was amazing. My date's shrimp and grits were phenomenal as well. I had plenty of left overs. Expect to spending average short north prices here, about $5-10 for a drink (depending on the kind) and $10-$20 a plate for an entree. It's worth every penny, and then some.

I am always in search of great fried chicken. This place did not have it. I was actually on my way to North Market when a parking place opened up in front of this place, so I figured it must be fate. I may not be a fare judge of this place because I don't like spice fried chicken. So, don't use my review as a guide if you like spicy fried chicken'

We went there for a simple brunch and what we got was pretty decent food. We ordered a Quiche of the day, the Chicken and Waffles, and an Eggs Sardou. We also had coffee (I couldn't find it on the menu but they had it and this wasn't a big concern to us anyway). Everything came out great except we thought the Eggs Sardou didn't really suite our taste buds. The chicken and waffles are amazing! The chicken was perfectly fried and tasty. It matched the soft fluffy waffles that came with a very unique syrup. The quiche was perfect and flavorful too! Price for food was decent considering its location. Overall service was kinda slow especially when we first sat down, but our server was really warm and friendly, which really made up for everything. This place definitely has lots of room for growth!

Each time I have been to this restaurant the service has been consistently pleasant and the food has been consistently tasty. Everything is made from scratch, which makes for some of the best comfort food I have had in Columbus. And I'm not typically the type of person that gets overly excited about chicken (Seriously, I would choose red meat, fish, or pork over chicken almost any day of the week). On top of everything, for every meal that is purchased at the restaurant they donate a meal to a local food bank for every one that is purchased. I have yet to stop in for breakfast, but I've heard it's fantastic as well. Based on my experiences so far, It's definitely something I plan to try.

I'm updating (and upgrading to 5 stars) after a second review, now that I've had their fried chicken, and it is fantaaaaastic. And I love that you can order your fried chicken a la carte - I like breasts but also drumsticks, and typically you get choice of white or dark, so I always had to choose, but I was able to order a breast and a leg. Yay! I also recommend the Stout & Stormy cocktail. Delicious beer drink with ginger and lime.

Hubby wanted fried chicken tonight and I never considered that we would find a place that could also make gluten free fried chicken! I haven't had fried chicken in 2 years since going gluten free and it was SO worth the wait. Spices were perfect and not overpowering. The chicken was crispy and cooked perfectly. You honestly couldn't tell the difference between the regular and the GF fried chicken! The coleslaw was also really tasty. The greens were a little too hearty for my liking. I prefer greens with a variety of greens in them.. These may have been all collards. But still give them 5 STARS ...Loved it and will definitely be back again!

7 WORDS - Down Home Cookin' That's Plate Lickin' Worthy. A TUESDAY MORNING RIGHT BEFORE LUNCH RUSH - NOVEMBER What else can I say? Those 7 Words just about sum it up. . I've had fine chicken all around, but few are this good. It remnds me of the old school variety of Sister's Chicken - back when Wendy's owned it and it was just too sad to see it go after dave passed away. Well, this is not going to become some brand - so the down home taste will remain always. . We arrived right after the doors opened and we were STILL the third ones in the door. We took our seat and the place is like a hip version of Chipotle without the long lines and self-service atmosphere. . Our waiter came up immediately and took our orders. I got the Three Piece Dark with Cole Slaw and Smashed Potatoes. Mom got the Tuesday Blue Plate Special; Andouille, with a Side Salad, and beans and rice. . While we waited, we enjoyed Double Comfort's variety of gnash: pickled veggies. They were fantastic and just the right portion to whet our appetite. . The Chicken was Spicy and crisp, with savory chicken grease running down the length of the meat just in that perfect way that made you want to lick every last bit off your fingers. The Cole Slaw, a vinegar based variety, was tart not sweet and crisp not mushy. Two things I like in Cole Slaw. . My mom, who'd never had andouille, absolutely loved it, as well as the rice and beans, which tasted truly creole and went perfectly with the music mix of Zydeco, Blues, and jazz floating in the background. . Our bill came to 22.50 with one soda and one water - a little pricy, but his place really does it right and you may feel sticker shock the first go-round, but the second time, you'll really appreciate every last morsel you eat here. . This place was truly a comfort for both of us - and maybe that's what the oner had in mind when they started imagining such a lovely down-home menu. .

No comfort here. We had been wanting to try this place for some time and had heard some decent feedback from others who ate here. It's all about the fried chicken. Or so it should be - if you ever get your chicken. We showed up at 6:30 and things were not busy. In fact there were empty tables. Nonetheless, we had to put our name in and the host said it would take 15 minutes. We waited and waited. The tables that were empty when we arrived remained empty. The host vanished. We were finally seated after 30 minutes. Then we waited another 35 minutes before anyone came to take our order. Then we were told they were out of knives and short of plates. The menu was also scaled back to almost nothing. Then we waited for 40 minutes before our appetizer arrived. The food was over-cooked, really burnt. It also was not very good. In sum, lousy service, sub-par food. Instead of comfort, it just made us angry.

I came for Sunday brunch (they don't have their full menus available FYI). The two of us were seated quickly at the bar and the service was just fine. Ordered the chicken and waffles, 2 piece chicken dinner, Mac and cheese, and a chicken biscuit ($33 total). Don't judge- we wanted to try it all! Overall it was very good. The Mac and cheese was for sure the most notable item, it was truly delicious and worth every penny and calorie for that matter! As for the chicken, I am a fried chicken snob to be honest. I love fried chicken! So, being southern style fried chicken I was expecting something a little more spicy. This chicken was very savory, a little sweet and VERY herb/rosemary heavy. There was no spice at all to it, which is fine but just not what I was expecting. As for the chicken and waffles generally, the maple syrup is something they'll tell legends about decades from now. It is truly heavenly! The burbon really makes it, but don't be fooled veggies out there, there's bacon in it! Moral of the story: fun, fresh, country cooking. Come for the chicken but stay for the Mac and cheese!

We came the weekend after they opened for brunch and were pleased with everything we got. Started with their eye opener devils egg which is an egg boiled in espresso and then "deviled". Sounds weird i know....but tasted pretty darn good! My partner had they chicken and waffles with bourbon and coffee maple syrup...only complaint with this was that the syrup was littered with so much coffee grounds that it was virtually inedible. I had their biscuits and gravy and ate so much I reached the "Unbutton" level with my pants. The food is a on the verge of being overpriced but they managed to keep it reasonable considering with every meal purchased they donate a meal to the food bank.

We went to Double Comfort for Saturday Brunch. This place is amazing! The service was great, and the food was delicious. We both ordered chicken n waffles. The bourbon/bacon/coffee maple syrup is a very unique combo - loved it. The chicken had a great flavor and was wonderfully crispy. The sever explained that they are non-profit, and donate money to charities - a food bank at the moment. What a nice concept. We will definitely be back.

I was craving brunch and live within walking distance so we decided to check this place out. I'm not from Memphis but I am from Kentucky and lived in Alabama, so I feel I am qualified to critique Southern food ;) I don't know if I would call the food "authentic," but it was delicious!! I had the waffle with Greek yogurt, honey, and berries. My boyfriend got biscuits and gravy, which looked sooooo amazing when it came out I grabbed a bite before he had a chance to! I very much enjoyed my meal and the BF did as well. The portions were perfect and the price for them was fair. Again, not terribly authentic; tt was more a trendy hipster's idea of what Southern comfort food is (my Grandma would never put Greek yogurt on a waffle) but I'm not complaining. The waiter was a little over-the-top, but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt because the place is new and they have to work out the kinks. The one thing I found a little unsettling was the price of $12 for a mimosa or bloody Mary. Not big ones either. They came in a stemless wine glass. Maybe they are EXTREMELY AMAZING and therefore worth $12, but I didn't try one. I definitely want to go back and do dinner. I love me some cobbler...

Went here with a co-worker and we got the half chicken meal and the 2 piece chicken meal, white meat. I had the greens and fries on the side. I thought the breading on the fried chicken was delicious. The greens weren't bad, not the best. They ring out pickled veggies to share which were good. I'd definitely come back sometime.

Have been twice and both times my group was just about the only patrons in the restaurant. Once at 12:30 noon, once about 6 for dinner. Service was awesome both times! Attentive but not in your face. GENDER NEUTRAL SIGNAGE AT BOTH BATHROOMS IS NOTICED AND COMMENDED. Ambience and interior comfort is excellent. I made it a field trip so everyone could read the walls in both bathrooms. Food.....creative, fresh, appetizing presentation. Taste.....yes! Yes! Greens are some of the best I've had. Pork Rinds alone are worth a trip. The pickled veggies table side could be a meal for meal about six jars later. Memphis style chicken was really good and pretty close to a down home Sunday fried chicken lunch. No complaints. I would have liked the temperature of my food to be a little warmer though. Pickled veggies and $3 local drafts make for an awesome happy hour. Atmosphere is definitely cool, I like it much more than what Knead had done with it. For dinner, I had the bourbon gravy pot roast special. It came with mashed potatoes and fried okra. The gravy on the pot roast was amazing. My friend had the chicken fried steak po' boy. Being a bit of a po' boy expert, I can tell you that you will not find a better french bread po' boy in the city. They should defintely combine the two and make a roast beef po'boy.

While visiting Columbus for Origins Game fair we had the pleasure of eating at Double Comfort multiple times. We dined in and ordered carryout. The food was delicious. I highly recommend getting an item that has chow chow. I couldn't get enough of this tasty dressing. I also ordered extra biscuits and snacked on them on our ride home to Illinois. The manager Jason was very nice. I ordered take out and although they were extremely busy with the Orgins crowd he went out of his way to go the extra mile.

Our family enjoyed our meal, the atmosphere, the service, and of course the fried chicken. The menu had something to please everyone. The Double Comfort salad with pickled veggies was so unique, I can't wait to have it again. My son asked why the chicken had so much flavor and was told that the secret was the Memphis-style dry rub seasoning on the chicken. My daughter loved the key lime pie and my husband was impressed with the local beers on tap. But the best part of our meal was learning that Double Comfort is a social enterprise. Double Comfort supports, with its proceeds, local food pantries. My daughter summarized their mission as being like Toms shoes for food. Enjoy a good meal you can feel good about. Head to Double Comfort.

Lucky us, we came on a night when they were having a double bachelor/ette party. We tried hard to ignore it even though we had to scream at each other to be heard but we don't hold that against the restaurant. I'll start with the positives. The staff is really nice which can be half the issue these days. Now that that's out of the way... People's reviews of how tasteless the chicken was kind of scared me off from committing to a chicken dinner so the hubs got an extra piece on his dinner for me to try. I got the King...a peanut butter, marshmallow and banana sandwich with bacon. My friend got a chicken po' boy. Service from the kitchen was slow but I don't know if that's a normal thing or because of the size of the party already there. I'll assume (hope for) the latter. But as long as it's hot, I don't mind a bit of a wait. My biggest irritation and deterrent from ordering a chicken dinner was you were forced into the sides they wanted to give you and not all of the sides available. Like you can only get French fries, sweet potato fries, mashed potatoes, greens (no thanks), cole slaw (no thanks). So basically if you don't like greens or slaw, you're forced into a potato overload. But, what if I want mac and cheese? Nope, you're going to have to pay $6 for that and when we asked how big it was given the price we were told it was a "soup bowl size" more than enough to share for two, maybe three. Uhh...your idea of a soup bowl and mine are different, miss. It was on the small side and the oil was still sizzling and popping off the top. Yes, I said oil. This is not your creamy kind of mac and cheese, this is that southern, I dumped cheese in noodles and have been simmering in oil kind of mac and cheese. Half of it went back to the kitchen at the end of the meal. The taste was so so but we just couldn't handle that much oil. His chicken was decent. I thought the seasoning was fine and I'm a season snob so I don't know what people who are griping about the seasoning are used to or expect. Now the quality of the actual chicken just wasn't what I'm used to. Didn't seem as plentiful as the other two popular chicken joints in town and you know the ones I'm referring to. What about my King? Well, the bread was so hard on it, I literally played a drum solo on it with my utensils. I asked if it was deep fried but even deep fried leaves the bread soft in the middle. This was ROCK hard. The bacon, which should've given a nice salty contrast to the sweetness of the mallow and banana just tasty like nothing really. It was just a tough to eat, jerky like texture. If I hadn't paid $9 for a sandwich alone, I would've headed back to grab a slice of Fabians I passed but I took one for the team. It's a fork and knifer because if you try to eat it like a sandwich, it all oozes out everywhere and not in a good way. My friend seems satisfied with her sandwich but she's one of those people who won't say nary an ill word no matter how bad the meal so even "decent" is built up to "excellent" if you ask her. But she can write her own review if she's so inclined. The hubby and I wanted to love it and even though he liked his well enough, he said he definitely has about 3 other places he'd go for chicken before here. If they allow you to choose ANY side they offer in the future, I might think of going back but until then, we'll probably pass it up.

I visited Double Comfort for the first time on Sunday, July 27. It was GREAT! I had the Chick and Waffle and a Bloody Mary. The chicken was moist and flavorful! I asked for my Bloody Mary "spicy" and it was just that. Not overly spicy or filled with horseradish. It was tasty with an "after burn" of heat. We shared the Bourbon Ice Cream (made in house) for dessert. It was delicious as well! I can't wait to go back so that I can try Chef Dan's Mack and Cheese Waffle! The service was great and Russ was a great server and very informative. Great job!

Double discomfort, and that starts with the seating, with the benches pushed up tight against the south wall. You can't comfortably sit there without pulling the bench out 5-6" from the wall, as there is a backrest attached to the wall. Double disappointment started with my chicken po boy and two small pieces of chicken that were entirely breading, mostly shredded iceberg lettuce on a soggy bun. If I wanted two nuggets on a bun, I can get that at McDonald's for 99 cents and get more chicken. From the name of the place, I had expected big hunks of juicy, moist, hot fried chicken. With the beans and rice, I expected there to be some rich bean "gravy," not a bowl of white rice with some dry beans sitting perched on top. Picking foil out of my sandwich before I could eat it was fun too. My sandwich was wrapped in foil before cutting, leaving dozens of little flecks of shredded foil stuck to the sandwich. The cornbread was dry as a bone, and not especially flavorful. And why potato chips with the sandwich? Why not choice of a side? Who wants chips with what's supposed to be a premium sandwich? What is this, Subway? Anyhow, the chips were mustard spiced and way too overpowering for my bland food, yeah, overall that's the right word to describe everything but the chips. Bland. I understand a portion of the price goes to a charity, but the prices were way too high for the value received. Server forgot to put in the order for one of the items ordered, the food came out in dribs and drabs over the course of 15 minutes, leaving some people without food while others had their complete order. Server cleared appetizer plates and silverware, but did not bring back replacement silverware. The service was haphazard and slow, and not just the wait time for food. They were not especially busy. Server was not familiar with bar items, and took way too long to return with an answer to what should have been a simple question. No one likes having to chase down the server for the check when they're ready to go either. Overall this was a mega disappointing experience.

The fried and roasted chicken was delicious but the side dishes were very disappointing. The mac and cheese lacked flavor and the corn bread was just awful. I suggest the red beans and rice.

Gonna keep this short. The service: Went here with two friends at around 9 PM on a Saturday night. Stood at the front for 5 minutes before anyone even noticed us (sign said wait to be seated). Finally, the BARTENDER came over and sat us as a table, and said someone would wait on us soon. 15 minutes later....no one. Again, the BARTENDER came over and finally took our order. Then, a couple that was seated 10 minutes after us, got their food before us. Oh, let me point out, there were maybe 10 patrons in the entire restaurant. No excuse for this horrible service. The food: We got some chicken, poutine, and corn fritters. Chicken tasted like KFC, poutine had cold soggy fries, and the corn fritters had no seasoning, and were pretty tasteless. Horrible for the prices they charge, and unacceptable. Will not be returning, and from the looks of some of the other reviews, I don't see this place staying open much longer. Thanks.

Authentic comfort food Elvis would have loved! (Remember Graceland is in Memphis, silly). We had the fried chicken - really juicy on the inside, nice and crunchy on the outside. It came on top of piping hot fries that were salted just right. Sides were served family style. The collard greens had the perfect balance of smoky, sweet n sour and garlic Mac n cheese was a new twist. The clean and crisp slaw was a great complement to the fried chicken...it kind of deglazed the stomach. I should add all the ingredients are sourced as locally as possible. Nice. Hard to believe after all that food we shared a peach cobbler (my husband renamed it gobbler). Peaches were firm, cake was moist...makes we want to go back and try the biscuits and gravy for brunch. They have a full bar - had a hoppy, yummy Jackie O beer and a shared a sweet tea sour (had to try it for the sake of science). To top it all off - the double part of the comfort - is that they will give back profits to the mid ohio food bank so that others less fortunate can have fresh, healthy food to nourish body and soul. There is no singing of the blues at this place...except in the sound system.

Double comfort is a delicious and hearty southern option near the convention center. I ordered the waffles and chicken with Bourbon syrup. I also had a Bloody Mary extra spicy...so good!

Decent food, dressing on salad was a little too heavy. Fried chicken was crop and delicious. Great idea of Memphis tennessee fried chicken, it's nice to have variety in Cbus.

BEWARE OF HAIR!!! My visit to Double Comfort was relatively pleasant until I found a strand of hair on my $4 chicken breast. I reported this to the waitress and she showed little concern. She then discounted my bill for a $3 thigh instead of the $4 breast. Hardly seems fair. Will not return.

We on Sunday, August 10. The restaurant is nice-but the food is not "southern" by far, I had better southern food from a whole in the wall joint around Columbus. The service could have been better to offset the lack of southern flavor from the chicken and waffles we ordered- from the time we got seated and placed our order it took about an hour and there were people that were there before us that haven't even got their food yet. When we got our food, the waffles were cold and the chicken were dry and burnt looking. The Bloody Mary was ok, but I had better. Our waiter did not provide utensils, butter, water, creamer. sugar or napkins (yes, we had a horrible waiter). We had to asked other waiters for refill on the burnt tasting coffee. Overall, do not expect service from this place or their "southern" style food.

The Mac 'n cheese waffle is out of this world, the chicken is very flavorful. Service is great, owner is always on sight, very friendly and accommodating. And knowing a part of proceeds goes to charity is just the icing on the cake!

After reading the reviews I was expecting my socks to be knocked off! Unfortunately they weren't. I had the white fried chicken and although it was very moist the flavor just wasn't really there for me. Quite frankly I felt it was bland. The hot sauce helped a bit but it was not the fabulous burst of flavor I was expecting. The chicken comes on a bed of fries, slaw and a piece of white bread. The fries tasted like cardboard and after eating the chicken eating a plain piece of white bread was the last thing I wanted. My suggestion is to keep the bread and fries and allow people to choose from the optional sides. Although they were open to swap Items out which was nice. The red beans and rice was fabulous! Just the right amount of spice. I also tasted the bourbon baked beans. The flavor was amazing but the beans were a little under cooked. The stone fruit cobbler made my day! Wow! Initially I wasn't thrilled it was mixed with blueberries and almost didn't order it. What a mistake that would have been! The house made bourbon ice cream was the perfect pairing. The service has much room for Improvement but I'm sure they will work out the kinks. Next time I will skip The chicken and order red beans and rice and cobbler.

Started with Ohio Sweet Corn Fritters which were excellent. The cayenne aioli was the bomb.My main course the two piece fried chicken dinner. This was suppose to be a thigh and a leg but they provided two pegs. The batter for the chicken was pepper based but not spicy. Cole slaw, fries, and a slice of white bread accompanied the meal. The cole slaw was vinegar based which was OK. I prefer mayonnaise based versions. The fires were nothing special but I was disappointed with bread choice. Would have preferred a biscuit or rolls instead of a slice of bread. All in all a good meal for a Saturday afternoon close to the market.

Bourbon maple syrup sounds great in theory, but I feel like I dumped a shot of bourbon on my waffles. It was overpowering, and this is coming from someone who likes bourbon. Will be going back to Double Comfort, but taking a pass on the their special maple syrup next time.

Had dinner here last week with a party of 3.5. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We started with beers and prosecco which were both pretty good, a little pricey. The corn fritters were very tasty, crispy but still fluffy on the inside. Served with a great remoulade which I would love to try on their Po Boys. But, I went with the fried chicken. I completely disagree with other reviewers that say they do not have any flavor. There is a lot of fried chicken being served [on high street\ that lacks any flavor. This is not where that is happening. There's a little bit of heat to the crunchy skin too. I got the smashed potatoes which have the skins and chunks inside that keep the flavor of a real potato...so if you like your potatoes to taste like garlic or cheese, don't get them. Oh, and the mac & cheese! It's got spice! Now there is a garlic flavor to the mac with the kick which is unique and isn't seen a lot of places..so I give them a plus for that. We did not make it to the key lime pie...too full...but I will next time for sure.

Had two excellent comfort food meals at this place, brunch one day and lunch the next. Homemade Biscuits were great! When I first walked in and they were blasting Stevie Ray Vaughn, I knew I was in the right place. The food and drinks were really good, and Marco, who helped me both times, was efficient and charming. Right next door to the Hampton Inn on High Street. Would come back when I visit Columbus again.

Food was great! Service was terrible. We had to remind the waitress we wanted to eat after sitting around at our table for 30 minutes. There were only 3 other tables in the entire place so it's not like they were busy. The whole experience lasted 2 hours which was way too long. Southern hospitality does not come with the meal at Double Comfort.

Great food and fantastic service. Portions are generous; pricing on point. Plus, a portion of your meal goes to feed the hungry, so win-win! You'll leave with a full tummy, full heart and probably left overs. The chicken is very tender and flavorful. I highly recommend the corn fritters and chow-chow; amazing! Can't wait to go back.

Double Comfort sorely wants to be a good restaurant. It's well-located, it's clean, it has plenty of those now-requisite wall-sized chalk drawings that employ otherwise out of work art school graduates that all the hip crowds seem to like these days instead of old boardwalk kitsch. Most importantly, its menu is an understated thing of beauty, more than capturing all of the dishes that you would need and want in a homestyle Southern food restaurant: Sizzling Skillet Bacon Cornbread, Sweet Corn Fritters, po'boys (in chicken, shrimp, vegetable and chicken fried steak styles), sweet tea ("the real thing!" I seem to recall my menu espousing), chicken and waffles on brunch days, and so on. Based on the menu alone if they got even half of this stuff right I would have moved into their stockroom. And yet, my address remains unchanged. Everything was cooked to visible perfection. The chicken was crispy and well fried. The greens were thick and fresh. The skillet bacon cornbread was fat and sizzling, as advertised. The fried pickles were coated firm and well. The corn fritters golden and served with a well-seasoned cayenne aioli sauce. Unfortunately, almost none of it had any discernible flavor whatsoever. Let me be clear, I am not saying I did not like the flavor they possessed. I am saying some of these dishes were devoid of the essence of zest that comes with consuming actual sustenance as opposed to say, popcorn. As flavors go, your food may be one thing over another - it may be salty over sweet, or sour over candied, or peppered over buttered - but it cannot be NONE of those things. In an attempt to be "homegrown" or to let the natural ingredients of the food ring through, the menu's palate is too residually garden, too safe, too unseasoned. You are left with cooked chicken, but not flavorful chicken. Cooked potatoes, but only just so. Setting aside that they did not have, in the middle of a weekday, any chicken breasts to serve (!), my fear is that a great many chickens have died for naught, since whatever they're doing to them in that kitchen is absolving them of all flavor. It is fried chicken for people watching their cholesterol: all cracklin', no lip smackin'. The greens were okay, if a little underdone in the interest of being organic (a sentence that hurt as much to type as it did for you to read it). The slaw was a vegetable straw medley, emphasis on the straw. The red skin mashed potatoes were actually good, but that's pretty much where the Good News telegram ends. The corn fritters were merely puffy carriers for aioli sauce one can find anywhere, being neither sweet nor corn-flavored. The fried pickles were pickled (bam!) on top of being pickles (pow!), so eating them fried was an exercise in Mason jar-flavored frustration (super organic!) when it should have been a decadent pleasure. The key lime pie was of lethargic texture and contained all of the sugar that my corn fritters and over-brewed "real thing!" sweet tea should have had. And the criminal masterstroke, a dish that should have been impossible to get wrong - the Sizzling Skillet Bacon Cornbread - was devoid of every ingredient that should have leapt to the fore. The bacon was minimal and barren. The cornbread was vacant, tasting neither sweet nor of cornmeal. If they make this with buttermilk, they need to stop right now. I can get more flavor with a box of Jiffy corn muffin mix and a fistful of bacon bits. Overall, this menu could sing with some tweaks for actual flavor. Those of you familiar with this establishment will note (probably alarmingly so) that I have not yet mentioned the charitable side effect of eating there, specifically their claim that for every meal purchased they will deliver a meal through a local food pantry. I have not mentioned this because this is a review of their food, not an accounting of their beneficence. If one feels compelled to partake of their shockingly substandard food in the name of moral largesse, one could do a lot worse things. But anyone who convinces you to eat here first because of their philanthropic mission is essentially tagging you in an ice bucket challenge. For myself, I will save my gullet for food I actually enjoy and continue to donate food and money to the charities I subscribe to. The charge here is the same as it is for an ice bucket challenge: if you have to be beguiled to consider helping another human being, you need challenges of a more consistent and self-developing nature.

Though I'm always going to be a loyal Maya's Fried Chicken fan, I'm so glad I ventured out and finally tried Double Comfort. It's unique in its own right and finger-lickin' good! Came here over the weekend to get some sustenance during ComicCon and was impressed with both the food and service. We sat at the bar and the bartender was pleasantly efficient (there at the right times, but generally left us to our own devices). Both the gentleman and I had a two piece dark meat with coleslaw and fried potatoes. Usually, I'm not a fan of fried potatoes because most places cook them unevenly. But here, each piece was perfectly cooked and crispy. Excellent with some hot sauce. And then, let's get to that glorious chicken. Crisp, seasoned exterior and a fabulously juicy inside. As good as it gets. The accompanying slice of white bread was great for sopping up the delicious juices. Lastly, the coleslaw had celery (one of my fave ways to eat it) and was a refreshing palate cleanser. I also partook of a bourbon cocktail (Basil Hayden's bourbon and ginger beer). It was a perfect with the chicken!

Had a most fabulous brunch this cold Sunday morning. The Mac and cheese waffle was unique and amazing. So was the chicken fried steak waffle, which I consumed. The waffle was chewy and oh so slightly sweet. And the sausage gravy? Heaven. A great place with great energy. Ask for Marco when you come - he was great!

My wife and I were at the convention center and were looking for a place for brunch. We found Double Comfort and stopped in. We ordered quiche for an appetizer. It was excellent. We ordered biscuits and gravy as well as the ham and eggs. We've lived in the south and we love a good southern breakfast. These guys do it right! The ham was thick cut and delicious. The biscuit and gravy was spot on. Just like grandmas. Great all around experience!

I would love to give this a five star - and I would have normally because the fried chicken is done of the best I've ever had - BUT there was only 4 tables when we came in and we waited at least 10 minutes to get waited on. Then we put in a take out order in when we ordered out eat-in order...and it took about 30 minutes after we were done. We sat forever waiting. Bummer, because food was good. But not sure if we will return.

Awesome food and great service! The poutine was amazing and can't believe I've never had such a thing before. The Mac n cheese was superb and almost like the Mac n cheese that I make. So of course it was good! The breading on the chicken is just about perfect and would eat a million if I could.

After reading these reviews beginning to think they were at another restaurant. My wife and I ate there on a Friday afternoon and were both very disappointed. About the only entrées on the menu are fried chicken. The chicken was dry and hard and the cornbread tasted like it had been made days ago. The vinegar based cole slaw with shredded apple was the only thing on the plate that was edible. Better and cheaper chicken at KFC or the roasted chicken at Kroger. With so many good and great restaurants in Columbus to choose from can't imagine this one will be in business long.

Went on an early Saturday afternoon. Parking is kind of a hassle, but I needed to go to North Market anyway, so it worked out. The food was very good. We wanted the Ohio corn fritters, but mistakenly showed up during their brunch hours, so they weren't available. We went with the corn bread instead, which we both enjoyed. The fried chicken was excellent, with some subtle warm spice to it (maybe cinnamon?). The slaw was obviously house made, and fresh, and not the typical creamy mess you get some places. The fries were decent, and the "Memphis style" piece of plain white bread is a little confusing, on a plate with nothing to mop up. The service was unfortunately similar to others experience here. There was one other couple in the place eating when we arrived, and 6 or 7 idle employees chatting amongst themselves at the bar. We were seated by one person, and when we asked if we could order a drink, we were informed that he'd need to go discuss with someone about whether our table would be his, or someone else would wait on us. Ok, so 5 minutes later our server arrives, and we place out drink order. Fifteen minutes later they finally arrive. I was about to walk over and interrupt the employee social hour going on at the bar to get them myself. The food showed up in a reasonable time frame. The server approached our table with a water pitcher in her hand to check on us, and kept right on going to another table without filling our empty glasses, only to have to go retrieve it again later. It's like they just don't get it yet. Based on the food you should absolutely go check this place out. Just keep your expectations low for the service.

This was my first visit to double comfort and is sure to become a favorite of mine! The owner Mary Lyski was so sweet and spent lots of time talking with us about the restaurant and our server Davey could not have been more perfectly attentive. My friend and I shared the half organic roasted chicken which was moist and deliciously seasoned, sautéed greens, coleslaw with shredded Brussels sprouts and the most luscious macaroni and cheese I have ever tasted laced with fresh garlic and herbs. The chicken was served on a bed of locally grown greens with pumpkin seeds, currants and tossed with an absolutely delicious light vinaigrette. I am a very fussy eater and preferred to eat organic and locally grown foods and this place is perfect for me!!

Based on the number of reviews posted on the same day as my experience, I'm guessing it's possible we all just caught them on a bad day :(. I had so been looking forward to eating here, as I am in a never-ending quest to find great fried chicken in Columbus. We visited on Sunday, Aug. 10 at around 10:00. We were seated after about a 10 min. wait, despite there being 4-5 open tables. No biggie, though ; I'm more patient than most. Our friendly server took our orders in a more than reasonable amount of time. Then we waited...and waited...and waited. After one of the tables right beside us received their order (we were seated and had ordered before them), "friendly server" assured us that our order would be right out. Fast forward about 20 min. and we still had not gotten our food, nor had the couple seated on the other side of us and they were there when we arrived. Friendly server offered to refill my daughter's orange juice for free since we'd had to wait so long and he also suggested the pickled veggie appetizer to tied us over. We accepted both and were told that waffle entrees were taking longer because...wait for it...They. Only. Had. One. Waffle. Iron!!!!!!!!!! WTH?!?!? How you gonna offer Sunday brunch with the menu highlight being various waffles, namely, chicken and waffles, but only have ONE waffle iron?!?! All in all, when we finally got our food, about an hour in, I found the waffle and the chef's special syrup to be delicious! The chicken was good too. I really want to support local, small business, but, I haven't yet decided if it was worth the wait. If we do decide to go back it won't be for a while--give them plenty of time to work out the obvious kinks. And to invest in another waffle iron.

Double disappointed. Went for Sunday brunch. Had to wait 10 minutes even with 5 open tables. Got seated placed order then had to wait 45 minutes for food. Chicken and waffles. I had high hopes for the wait, but was not wowed by the food. Only seen our waitress twice, once to take order and to drop off our check. Didnt even bother to see if we needed xoffe refill or desert. Luckily, during our 45 minute wait, some one came by to over 1 coffee refill. Hopefully they get their act together, I do want to see them do well.

Came here for brunch and it was very good. I have already recommended it to my friends as a good place for brunch. One thing I do not recommend it the Bloody Mary's. They were weak and very small for the price! Overall, a great addition to the Columbus Food scene.

Just ate brunch. We walked in and were told there was going to be a wait to give the kitchen a chance to catch up. But the place was only half full with only about 12 tables sat none of them bigger than a 4 top. We finally got seated and took about 5 min for server to come by and take our order which was one of only 2 times our server stopped at our table. Once we ordered it took 45 min to get our food and with even less tables sat. The people that sat next to us got up and left after being sat and waited 15 min but no server stopped by to take their order. Once we got our food we were not impressed I got the chicken fried steak on a waffle. They must have used cubed steak because it was really tough. Double comfort, double disappointed.

As my friend said, this place should be called Triple Comfort! Excellent food and service - I ordered the Po Boy Shrimp sandwich with the Mac and Cheese which were both delicious. I also love that they carry Chow Chow which complimented my sandwich nicely. The best part of the experience was that for each of our meals, they donate a meal to the local food bank. I will definitely be returning!

I just signed up for Yelp for this very reason, to report this. I've had a lot of fried chicken in my day, but this chicken is absolutely the best. The side dishes were all great! I was lucky enough to enjoy a fabulous meal at Double Comfort a few weeks ago. Its a really authentic local restaurant that is new to Columbus that specializes in Southern COMFORT food. The ambiance is wonderful. The walls are covered in this very rustic but chic reclaimed barn wood. The space is bright open and clean. There is a little seating outside on the front patio but I decided to sit inside at the bar, which is also really nice with a VERY good selection of beers -- local Seven Sons and even some micro brews from Portland, OR on tap. I had the fried chicken - which was tasty, crispy, light and not greasy. It also was not too salty -- seasoned just right. I had a few sides: collards, mac and cheese, corn bread -- really delicious. I'd recommend the cobbler for dessert. Yum Yum Yum Also not too pricey -- perfect combination of great down home food at a really great price point. I was born and raised in the South and the food was like a trip home.

What a great restaurant! The people are friendly, the food was very good, the cost is reasonable. My wife and looked on Yelp for a good restaurant near the Columbus convention center. Found one and decided to walk to it... As we passed the Hampton Inn we saw a small sign offering breakfast! It was Double Comfort. We read the menu tapped to window, and thought why not? Even though they did not first appear on our Yelp search. The place was quite busy, a young gal greeted us, found us a nice spot to sit in the sun, a few minutes later our waiter Marco took our order and then BAMM!!! Our food was at our table... NEVER have I ordered food and received it so fast! Marco explained that just before we arrived a large group came in and the kitchen team did not want our order stuck behind theirs... How awesome is that?! Good food, good people, even though my wife and I live 30 miles away... I guarantee we will make the trip back to Double Comfort!

Nice place. The food is simple and tasty. Their key lime pie is very good. Friendly people, relaxed atmosphere. A nice addition to this area.

I had the chicken frIed steak for lunch and it was delicious. It had a nice little kick and the portion was huge. The vinegar based slaw was nice and refreshing. The staff is friendly. I will definitely be back. Yummy yummy!!!!!

Great start at this great new spot. Chef Dan Varga previously cooked at Explorer's Cub and many other great spots in town. They also have a gentleman in the kitchen that has been frying chicken for 40+ years. The portion size, quality, etc., were all vert good. I look forward to watching this place get better and better over time Run - don't walk to this spot and feel good that some proceeds go to support local food banks.

My wife and I had the pleasure of eating dinner the first night Double Comfort opened. The beer selection is second to none, and of your looking for authentic southern cooking this is the place. My personal favorite was the red beans and rice and the greens. Absolutely the best!!! We will add Double Comfort to another spot the eat at when we are downtown.

What a horrible restaurant. I arrived and was greeted by an employee that said, "Yes?" when I looked at him. I told him we had reservations. He said, "I will be back in a bit." 10 minutes later, he still had not returned and was waiting tables. I left the restaurant. I went outside and met up with my friends and re-entered and were seated. After about 15 minutes with no service, a friend walked up to the bar to get a waitress. Once seated, I ordered the Southern Punch. I was told it was fruit punch mixed with vodka...sounds good right? Not so much. It tasted like the rhine of a grapefruit. I think something was rancid in it. It was so bitter. The waitress only delivered one or two drinks at a time and would go do stuff in between delivering the drinks. It took us over an hour just to be able to place our appetizer order. (the appetizers were delicious). The service was that slow. We were told they had sent one server home so there were only two of them, mind you there were only about 6 or 7 occupied tables including ours. After being able to order our main dinner, it took almost an hour to come out. Then the dishes came out about 10 minutes a part. They forgot a friend's dinner all together. My chicken was very dry. It took us 2 and a half hours from the time we were seated until we had walked out after paying. Some of the worst service I have ever had at a restaurant with sub-par dinner food. This restaurant won't last long in the short north with this kind of customer service and food. The food was way overpriced in my opinion. I will never go back to this place again. Stay away from this place!
