I have never been disappointed in a Cameron Mitchell restaurant so I was not surprised I love this place. it is the perfect place for lunch or brunch. It has a laid back come as you are kinda vibe. If you come with kids they will give you a little metal lunch box with toys to keep them entertained. As a parent there is nothing better than content kids who aren't complaining about the wait. The maytag potato chips are craveable. The meatloaf is so good and the potatoes are amazing. I love that, like all Cameron Mitchell restaurants, the have a fresh bar. No crappy bottled sour mix here. Maybe one of these times will actually save room for carrot cake!

I feel like you can never go wrong with Cap City. We made a reservation on a busy Saturday night and got our table within 10 minutes of arrival. The menu is fairly priced and you could eat very well for cheap. I usually get the meatloaf but went with the pork chops this time, and was rewarded for my decision. I will be back and would recommend Cap City to anyone.

Great FOOD EVERYTIME!! Always busy but they seat you right away usually thru the week! Shrimp cocktail is awesome! Romano crusted chicken is SO GOOD! Pork chops and meatloaf also yummy! Creme brûlée!!! Oh boy so delicious!! Go there!

Whether at this location, or the other, Cap City Diner is quality food and drinks! Mr. Cameron Mitchell knows what he is doing! My favorite dish at Cap City Diner happens to be the Balsamic Chicken, however I'm not sure you can get a bad dish at this restaurant! Of the many times I have been there, no one has ever had a complained! The portions are large, however I usually share my favorite dish with whoever is interested. That usually leaves a little space in the stomach for the famous "Seriously Big Chocolate Cake"., which is heaven. This place is amazing! If your in the Columbus area, a Cameron Mitchell restaurant is a must!

We planned on going here last tuesday and had a reservation for 6pm. While we were on our way, we got a call due to a kitchen fire they were going to be closed that evening. I was dissapointed and expected something to make up for the trouble they offered but nothing other than an apology. Saturday we were in the area again and made a reservation for lunch. It was my husbands birthday and the manager came to apologize about last time and invited us to dessert. Good start, I had asked for a nice table but we were seated right at the kitchen which made it unavoidable to watch and wait for our food being made. We sat right at the screen with the orders which was annoying to watch and hear the time pass and see our order ready under the heatlamps, and moved by 3 different servers, plate wiped, put back again and so on. Sometimes I don't want to know what all is going on before I get my plate or how long it is actually sitting there before it is brought out. About 45 minutes later the food came, romano crusted chicken and breakfast burrito for the birthday boy and the BBQ chicken salad with salmon instead for me. All of it tasted great, was warm, no complaints other than a different table next time. I'm actually pretty glad tuesday dinner got cancelled since saturday and sundays you get the fabulous cinnamon rolls instead of regular rolls, they are probably my favorite thing about Cap City Diner. For dessert we got the chocolate cake, the carrot cake and the peanut butter pie. I don't agree with the other raving reviews of the chocolate cake, sure it is a huge slice but tastewise it is your usual rich devils food cake with chocolate frosting that you can just as well make at home. The carrot cake a bit too "healthy" too many carrots, pineapple, too moist almost raw tasting. Now the peanut butter pie is where its at! Now you won't get a whopping slice like with the first two but the taste will blow you away! Real oreo crust, not the premade grocery one, smooth and silky super peanut buttery, chocolate, whipped cream and peanuts on top. Yup, this was the winner of the day!

Check out their menu. If you think you'll like anything on there, I assure you: you will. Excellent food prep with fresh ingredients. The wait staff is usually pretty attentive (I've had some below-average experiences, but they are rare), and the decor is nice. Highly recommended if the menu appeals to you at all. Oh, and the prices are high-ish for a diner, but this is diner-esque, not really a diner. In reality Cap City Diner is a great value.

Since moving to Columbus 7 years ago, I have been to Cap City in Gahanna dozens of times for both brunch and dinner. My favorite dish is the Balsamic Chicken. The portion is large, and the dish is extremely flavorful. I have never had a bad meal, but I also wouldn't rate the food best in Columbus. It is just consistently good. The service has also been good nearly every visit. My husband and I had a bad experience with a shift manager a couple of years ago which resulted in a loud argument in the dining room and me calling the general manager to complain. We also struggled with service when hosting a work holiday party there in December 2011. Small parties seem to fare better. Because of its dependable service and food quality, Cap City has been my restaurant of choice when entertaining out of town coworkers, and this will continue.

I give Cap City Diner 4.5 stars. This restaurant has been a consistent player in excellent American classics since opening day. Great decor, dining area, and energy! The food is consistently good or better and you always know what to expect. Came in for lunch and ordered the Cap City Meatloaf. It's a great, consistent product and a fan favorite. Before the entree, fresh, buttered dinner rolls were served. Pillowy, soft, fresh, and rich. You can't eat just one! After a few short minutes the Mile High Meatloaf arrived. The presentation was excellent and looked very close to Cameron's cookbook, "The Art of the Meal." A garlic bread base, mashed potatoes, the ground veal, beef, and pork meatloaf, BBQ gravy, and crispy onions on top. Surrounded by a few choice pieces of steamed broccoli seasoned with butter. To me, a rich, flavorful "special occasion" dish that is meant for mild indulgence. Risked my life in "white out" snow conditions on 315 and I-270 for this meal! Haven't had this dish in a few years, but as good as I always remembered it. For the most part, a great dining experience. Great food, decor, and for the most part service. My only mild complaint was that I ran out of water before the server offered to refill. Everything else was excellent!

It was our first time here - my wife and I decided to take our daughter and my wife's parents here for dinner. They like meat and fish, I am a vegetarian (not vegan). Your meal starts with buttered rolls for everyone at the table. They were pretty good, my wife says she's had better. Two veggie options that I saw: 3-cheese grilled cheese or black bean veggie burger. I do love black bean burgers, but since I'm quite familiar with them, I went for the grilled cheese. It had tomatoes, fried egg, scallions, and a dijon mayonnaise sauce. It was very good, as were the fries. You get your choice of fries, fresh fruit, coleslaw, or a couple of other things with any sandwich. My daughter had the kids' mac and cheese, which I also sampled. Very tasty. My mother-in-law ordered the fish and chips and my father-in-law ordered Philly Cheese steak. They both enjoyed their meal. We all agreed that the fries were very good. The service was great too, the waiter was on task the entire time, although it was pretty slow (Friday at 5pm). Plenty of soft drinks, wine, beer, and other to choose from. I was surprised that just offered "coffee", but nothing like a capuccino or special coffee drink, which I was sort of craving. But they are going for a standard diner menu, so I guess this makes sense. The decor and atmosphere were great. It was sort of a classic diner meets swanky restaurant type of feel. Kudos to the designers for the look and feel. I would recommend this place. If you're a meat eater, you have so much to choose from. Everything sounded pretty good, although a bit pricey. We're talkin' $10-20 a plate if you get anything more fancy than a grilled cheese. You're also paying for the experience of dining here. Even as a veggie, I was pleased. I'd go again - I don't know whether I'd get the grilled cheese again, the mac and cheese (if there is an adult portion), or the black bean burger!

I love this restaurant and its menu, but I prefer the Olentangy location over the Gahanna location. The staff here are very slow, and not as friendly. I came here at 5:30 on a Wednesday evening for dinner. By the time we ordered, ate our food, and paid for our bill, it was 7:45 PM. We didn't have to wait for a table when we arrived, nor were there people waiting when we left. If I'm desperate, I'll come to this location, but from now on, I plan on staying in one place.

Me and my boyfriend went there to have a early dinner with our friend who had arrived before us. It wasn't that busy at all maybe five other people there. We waited for awhile but no one showed to take us to the table so we seated ourselves. We got the kettle chips wit blue cheese. The appetizers were more in price then the meal I had even ate, I'm normally a fan of blue cheese but what ever they did to it it tasted like a big fried snot bubble. It was so bad. The mood was alright about the place but the managers tried too hard and buzzed around like flys asking people questions. The bread that came before the appetizer was soaked in nasty butter and the 'butter' they put on top was old and gritty tasting like it was the last bit in a old tub sitting out all day. The chicken pasta was alright but by the time I got halfway through it, and my boyfriend got the same and can agree that it was not worth it. I had read lots of mixed reviews on this places and chanced it. I made a bad choice, I'd only come back if someone close to me was having a get together and I had to force myself to go.

I go here about once a year and it never disappoints. It's often crowded but I usually can sit with 15 mins and service is fast. A bit pricy for my liking but a good place to take the wife or date.

Hint to kitchen - if a carry out order includes a request for extra dressing on a large dinner salad, you might want to include more than two half-empty condiment containers of dressing. Thank you.

Yeah, good eats! Everything from classic eggs Benedict, to Crab Crusted Tilapia, everything tastes great. My wife has had slightly over cooked fish a couple times, but other than that, a truly good dinning experience. The restaurant is clean and modern, and the service is always good. Portions are full, but maybe a little on the pricey side. My only other observation is on their "famous" meat loaf dinner. I did not find it great. It was good, even maybe very good, but its still meat loaf on bread with mashed potatoes and crusted onions on top. Aside from the huge portions of bread and meat, I could make this one at home. None the less, we will return.

I met a friend here for dinner and had a great meal. It wasn't a restaurant that I would normally have chosen, but it was good, quality food with exceptional service. The food has a range of prices which makes it good for any kind of budget. The portions are very filling as well, which is also great! The restaurant is clean and modern and the bathrooms were also perfectly clean which is VERY nice and makes the restaurant a notch above others in my opinion. Though I was only there once, I would go back again.

Went to dinner here a week ago....(and then to brunch a few days later). Anytime I hear the word "diner" I think of some small town place with a few booths and a grumpy waitress. Boy, was I wrong! This place was pretty much the opposite! For dinner, I started out with the potato chips (which have some sort of blue cheese melted all over them!) Divine!! So tasty! Then had the meatloaf (of course) as I've heard all the raves over it. It was pretty much amazing, I must say! The bottom was a large piece of Texas toast, covered by a slab of meatloaf, topped with mashed potatoes and onion straws I believe. It'd definitely try it again! But beware....you'll have to undo the top button on your pants when you're finished! The service was pretty good and the atmosphere was really neat. This place will become a favorite of mine I'm sure! ;o)

I don't prefer this location to Grandview, but its much closer, so... It still has the top-notch quality as well as terrific service, and although its in a strip, they still manage to create a cool atmosphere. It always seems to be busy when I'm there, which I take as a good sign. Meatloaf is their calling-card, I believe, but everything is good. You can have a $25 entree or a $9 sandwich; either way, I bet you'll enjoy your meal.

Beautiful location, the service was sooo professional it was amusing, almost like he was a paid actor or something lol. The burger was full of flavor. Cheeseburger 1-5=5.

I really want to like this place but it always seems to fall a bit short. The portions are too big. The food is good, and having sampled about 6-8 dishes, I haven't had anything that I'd call bad, just not really special on any way. Like most diners. It would be nice if they cut the portions and prices by about 25%.

One of the best gluten free menus in addition to its non gluten free menu. My daughter & I visit weekly! The best waitstaff and the best treasure box for the little ones! The cheddar covered chips are delicious as is the Greek salad.

We went to Cap City for the first time as an early Valentines Day dinner out. The place inside is beautiful, spotlessly clean and comfortable. These are the places I like best... classy but not dressy with excellent food at a reasonable price. Our waitress was Casey & she was great. Can't say one negative thing about this place. Suggest you try it out... you'll like!

My husband ran across this place surfing the net it had good reviews so we decided to give it a try. For dinner my husband had the spicy chicken rigatoni he said it was delicious great flavor but wished it was a bit more spicy. I had the meatloaf which was delicious but for the price I expected more than a tablespoon of mashed potatoes. For dessert my hubby had the key lime pie and I had the Big Cup O Chocolate both very good. The service was great no complaints and we loved the atmosphere very relaxed and quite chic. So yeah I'm a fan I'll definitely return again but maybe next time I'll asked for double mashed potatoes LOL.

Nice spot for a nice meal with friends, happy hour before movie, or just whenever! lol I usually order the turkey burger with fries or fresh fruit (depends on mood) and it is pretty good. My last visit it seemed like they changed the burger patty, a little thinner and more dry, which was good and bad. The burger wasn't as moist, but it was cooked. My previous visit I had been served a thick turkey burger that was raw in the middle. The staff made it right, and packaged a properly cooked one to go since at that point my husband finished his meal and I was tired and prefered to eat it later (delicious the next day!!). So while I had one bad experience with the previous burger (out of dozens), i thought the old thicker ones had more flavor but more risk of not cooking through. I have tried other dishes, this is just my goto since it is something i normally wouldn't have at home. My husband usually gets the meatloaf and is very happy with the taste and portions. The happy hour is a great time to come! It is always fun eating at the bar and trying out new drinks. The food is good. Love the Pepperoni Flatbread and wings. The mussels seem to usually be sold out, but recently we finally were able to try this dish out. The mussels were good but not great. For the price the food is good but nothing special. It could be just that the menu has changed very little over the past 10 years, and a lot of the dishes my husband cooks better at home. For the price I want something a little more special.

Came down here Saturday night for dinner. As usual it was just great. I had the blue plate special, which was short ribs, carrots and potatoes. The potatoes were mashed but not whipped. And for dessert, I had a piece of apple pie a la mode. What a dinner!!

So many upscale versions of dinner style food. I have yet to have had something that I did not like here. They are busy on the weekend and therefore there is a healthy buzz of noise. They even have a bar. I have had wonderful burgers and pasta. Also, the rolls they bring out tithe table are warmed and have melted butter on them.

Thanks, Cap City, for starting Saturday brunch! This Saturday we took grandma and her bf (visiting from Florida) to Cap City for brunch. It was the perfect choice. Cap City delivered! Our guests were overly impressed with the decor, service, menu, and the complimentary cinnamon rolls. Then, when the food came out no one was complaining, or talking for that matter because the food was great. The BEST brunch I've had there to date. I hope they never take that breakfast burrito off the menu. I could have kicked myself for not ordering that before. Their prices beat Northstar and they have a better selection. Any restaurant that really impresses an out of towner and doesn't break the bank is a 5 star place in my book and I'll continue returning to Cap City with pleasure.

This restaurant has more of a retro-cool design/feel. The style reminds me of an upscale version of Steak-n-shake. Cap City is fine dining for a casual restaurant. Very nice customer service, waiter was awesome. Very knowlegable and assisted us with exactly what we were craving for. I ordered the appetizer Maryland Crab Cakex2 as an entree and boy was it a great balanced dish. It had which I believe it to be balsamic surrounding the cakes with tomato salsa in the middle to compliment the main dish. Very neat, clean fresh seafood taste. A great choice if you are the type to portion control, or just not that hungry. My date had Shrimp Linguini, which had like a slightly lemon taste, but he says it was awesome. Very well cooked shrimp, and overall a great dish, especially if your a pasta lover. Only issue I would say, is that it maybe a bit too overpriced. Maybe. I feel like if everything was about $2-$7 cheaper, then I would rate it 4 stars. Prices are about $30 and under.

I thought I'd bump my review up a star. I've been here a couple times in the last month or so (the latest being a few hours before writing this). I think they've stepped up the service and quality a bit. I don't know if it's a new manager or what but it's been a lot better. The Flat Iron Potroast was really good. It's one of the blue plate specials served on Thursdays. The mussel app is really good too. I had a scallop and lobster special tonight. It was really good. Scallops and chunks of lobster meat, nice cream sauce, green beans, and mash potatoes. A little pricey at $26 but for scallops and lobster it's par for the course I guess. One minor complaint: The spinach and apple salad sounds great on the menu but it leaves something to be desired. I feel like the oversized chunks of cheddar cheese are misplaced. It should be served with small crumbles of goat cheese or gorgonzola or something. Maybe it could be substituted, I don't know.

THIS IS MY BEST FRIENDS FAVORITE RESTAURANT!!!!! She was so geeked to take us there. :( I dont even want to say anything bad so I'll keep it LIGHT, in case she sees this. hahahahha! UMMMMM...where do I start? I wasnt sure what to expect when I walked in. The decor has an old school vibe to it, with linens on the table. The waitress was everything you could ask for!! Cute, Friendly, helpful and all that stuff we like! My drink was great!!!! I'll start with that....Again...this is a common theme. I must have some kinda problema I'm not aware of. hahaha! However.....you know when you're staring at a menu and nothing jumps out at you and you're like WTF? It took me forever to order something b/c I didnt WANT anything on the menu. THAT'S WACK!!!!!! REAL WACK!!! I mean....the waitress was really confident about the food and I'm still trying to figure out WHY? I ordered the chicken parmesean on angel hair noodles. It was okay....but I could've made it better at home! UGH!!!!!! I just wasnt really impressed with the selection and I would not let her drag me back. But, it really is a nice place. I just didnt connect with the food selection. :( Sorry Reese!!

Of all the Cameron Mitchell restaurants, this is my favorite. It's almost as good as Cameron's. I always order their turkey burger and fries, and it comes with a side of house made aioli. The aioli is so creamy and the burger falls apart in your mouth because it's so moist. And of course, their fries are amazing, too. I love their drink selection and it's always changing, and the prices are competitive. Sometimes the service is slow, other than that, I love this place!

Always a safe bet for brunch! It's not that I don't like Cap City for other meals, but I just prefer it for brunch! There's nothing extraordinary about Cap City's Sunday Brunch, but everything is consistently good. Every time. We usually show up with our large brunching crowd, and Cap City is always happy to make accommodations for us. The servers are always extremely helpful, efficient, and professional. The food is always good - never hit or miss. Oh, and don't even get me started on the sweet rolls they bring before the meal! So, go to Cap City and try anything on the brunch menu - with confidence that it'll be a good experience! If you happen to NOT go for brunch, get the pecan-crusted pork chops. Trust me on this one.

22 bucks for short rib, It really tasted and looked like pot roast. Terrible value. Decent service but come on. We paid 76 bucks for 2 short rib plates, one desert, one ice tea, and 2 coffees( 2.99 each cup, that's crazy and wasn't special). It will be a very long while before we come back. There is something not so special about this place anymore. The short rib is such a cheap piece of beef. 22 bucks I can't get over that.

Big fan of Cameron Mitchell restaurants. I was just talking about the roasted garlic and baguette that they used to serve at Cameron's the other day. I *still* miss it. But I digress. Cap City is one of my standbys for good solid food that will fill you up...and give you your money's worth. The Chopped Salad is fantastic. So fantastic that I've started to see similar on other restaurants menus! I don't know what they do to make their dressing (or where they get it from), but it's unlike any other ranch I've ever had. Full of flavor and not gloppy, more liquidy. The Romano Crusted Chicken is a gut buster, so plan for leftovers! Three chicken breasts come on this dish, with a side of delicious pasta and a tomato drizzle. However, I saved the best for last. The Maytag Blue Cheese Chips. I don't care if you think it sounds weird. Buy it anyway. You WILL thank me later. So unbelievably good, and you can get it for take out! They box the sauce up separately, so you can assemble a fresh delight when you get home. *Drool*

I love Cap City! Its one of my favorite restaurants for a casual non planned night out. My favorite entrees are the Romano Crusted Chicken, Meatloaf, and the Pecan crusted pork chops. Many times I go just for salad too, I love the Apple Spinach one, but I substitute the dressing. Their Waldorff Dressing is AMAZING!!! I must have it on any salad I order there. I wish I could buy some to take home. When I get a salad, I usually get the peel and eat shrimp for an app, which is perfectly seasoned with Old Bay. YUM!! I love this place because you can eat a lot or a little. The prices are a bit high for such a casual place, but the quality is just so much better than say, Applebees or Fridays. I would rather pay a couple extra dollars and get better food and service. Their servers are all well trained and very attentive. Such a nice change after having bad service so often at other places. Joanna is awesome, she is full of suggestions and has that perfect blend of humor and friendliness. Brunch was a little disappointing when I went, but maybe I ordered the wrong thing, I would be willing to try again. The other thing that I usually find disappointing is their wine list. This always surprises me for a Cameron Mitchell restaurant, but again, maybe I just seem to pick the wrong thing. I'm going to try wine night this week, maybe I'll choose better this time. :) Also, seriously needs a patio!!!

So happy to have found this place. Not a diner in the traditional sense. I was traveling to Columbus every week for 6 months and I am so thankful I stumbled across this. I think their steak and black bean chili is the best chili I ever had. Phenomenal. I hit this place so many times, and to be honest, I miss it. That chili was so good. The steak was tender, there was just a little heat, really really good. Their burgers and other sandwiches are pretty good. Definitely above average. ANd I have enjoyed all the entrees I've had there (fried chicken was really nice). But it was the chili that I fell in love with. I have gone there and ordered a double bowl of chili and nothing else, love that stuff.

Sunday Brunch wasn't the same quality experience as in the past. I used to be a huge fan of Cap City Diner, but last Sunday will make me think twice about going back. We went to the Gahana location around 11:30 and the restaurant was half empty so we were seated right away. The Server took our drink order and then disappeared maybe 15 mins later she returned with some of the drinks and it took a while to get the rest. The rest of the meal was the same way Server was nowhere to be found. We're a pretty low maintenance group but I'd like to see somebody stopping by occasionally just to see if anybody has been sitting with an empty glass for 10 minutes. With 6 people we ordered a good sample of items from the menu and it was good but not great as it has been in the past. Kids mac and cheese tasted like it'd been made with sour milk.

Went here with my sister awhile ago for drinks. It was cold, so we ended up trying some scotch to warm our bones. I love scotch, and my sister was getting a bit of an introduction to it, so we tried a couple different ones to see what she liked most. The bartender was nice and attentive, and our choice of spirits attracted attention. You see, women don't usually drink scotch. It puts hair on your chest. I think the guys were going to buy us a drink... until they realized it was scotch. You see, our bill was around $160. Yeah. We were shocked, too. And all we could do was laugh. Maybe the amount of alcohol we consumed made us jolly instead of angry. I drink scotch all the time, so I know it can be expensive, but damn! We had no idea how much each glass cost, but when it's THAT expensive, I think they should tell you. Good times, nonetheless. Would like this place more if it weren't in a strip mall. Yes, I'm a strip mall snob.

This place is my neighborhood diner. Elevated diner fare (burger to fried chicken, wings to triple layer chocolate cake) at reasonable prices. I patron regularly about 1-2 times a month, and the hosts are always thoughtful offering newspapers to me when I sit alone, etc... The service is consistently good. I've always had good, timely service every time I eat in, They always talk me in to getting dessert, even if it's to take home for later.

Always good service at a Cameron Mitchell restaurants and no different at this location. The staff is snappy, knowledgable, and attentive. You can still get the salmon BLT, but you have to ask, for some reason they took if off the printed menu.

I absolutely LOVE Cap City. I would recommend the fried chicken if you go. It is so fantastic - the best chicken I have had anywhere in Columbus so far (I've lived here about a year). As a college student, I can't afford to go here a lot because the chicken dish was $18, but I will definitely go back when I can! It is a great place to take family. My boyfriend got the romano crusted chicken - it was okay, but nothing special. We got the banana bread pudding for dessert. Today was the first day it had been back on the menu in 8 years and anyone who goes there NEEDS to try it! I can't even begin to describe how fantastic it is. I love Cap City and I cannot wait to go back.

I was excited to see a "diner" nearby when I first moved to Columbus, but when I checked their website and saw their prices it was clear to me this was not a real diner, it's almost a "diner-themed" nice restaurant or something. That disappointment aside, I like the retro decor, and the comfort food style menu. The prices are a bit much for the food you're getting (more than a place like Max & Ermas), so this is not a casual dining for every occasion, but nice on occasion. I read the reviews here and everyone raved for the Maytag blue cheese chips, so we decided to try them, despite me hating bleu cheese because our waitress said that even people who don't like bleu cheese still love them. Everyone in my party was unimpressed. I really am not sure what the appeal is there...and I have to disagree with the waitress, the bleu cheese was very evident (in certain bites) and was pretty gross for those of us who hate the stuff. Our dinners were pretty good, though there was a broad range of ratings at our table. We got a thumbs down for the ravioli and an enthusiastic thumbs up and even a "one of the best things I've eaten" review on the fried chicken. Chicken and salmon dishes for a "pretty good" rating. It wouldn't be a favorite, but I'd be all for going again if the occasion arose.

If you've read my review of Cap City in Grandview - you'll read that I wasn't a big fan of the atmosphere and style of the restaurant. The upscale diner felt forced and made my experience awkward. However, this same concept in the Gahanna strip-mall seemed to work! Another reason I'm raising my rating on Cap City is their amazing brunch menu! I'm a girl who loves her brunch, and Cap City offered up some delicious "diner" fare with thoughtful twists that you wouldn't see in a greasy spoon diner. Eggs on Hash allows you to taste the short rib - the same Cola Braised Short Ribs they serve on Saturdays for $19.95. The Hash version of these short ribs top a pile of hash, green peppers, caramelized onions and Vermont White Cheddar. Oh yeah, and topped with two fried eggs. All for under $10, this allows you to sample the short ribs and decide if you want to come back and spend twice as much a dinner's worth of short ribs. And trust me, you do. Brilliant! I was really impressed with the Eggs Benedict. Such a wonderful thick flavor in the sauce. And such thick cuts of bacon! Mm, I would always recommend this to a friend. The service I experienced at this Cap City was generally more pleasant and welcoming than the service I experienced in Grandview. Good job! I was ready to write off Cap City, but I'm glad I gave them another chance in a different location.

The atmosphere here is a bit like an old diner but much more modern. I had the calamari appetizer which was OK. It had a somewhat sweet sauce and peppers with it. I also had the asian shrimp wrap which I though had good flavor but way too much rice. Although an interesting place, the food was lacking a bit.

Sorry for those who like it, but I don't like the place. I went several times and the food wasn't good and the prices are high. Really don't get the hype?

This is one of my favorite spots in Gahanna! Service is always spot on and the food is the same. What more could you ask for! I always look forward to their seasonal specialty drink menu and the weekend Brunch is killer!..Keep up the great work!

I ordered the fish sandwich and I was not impressed. The the fish wasn't crispy, there was too much lettuce and sauce. This made the sandwich very mushy. The pickles and raw chopped onions were unnecessary and seemed like an after thought. There were 2 other people with me. They both ordered salads. The wait was over 20 mins which was excessive for lunch hour. Overall, I'm disappointed, Cap City is suppose to be a high quality restaurant but today I would have been better off ordering a fish-o-filet from McDonald's. If not for the corn chowder, which was satisfying, there would've only been one star.

For years Cap City has been my "when in doubt" restaurant. The food is always good and there is rarely a wait. I like the atmosphere with Warhol prints, bright colors and a great bar area. Service is usually very attentive. This is a great place to take family with plenty of seating. For dinner, my favorite dish is the romano encrusted chicken. The chicken cheddar BLT is another tasty choice. I rarely have room for dessert after their huge portions, but it's delicious. I've been known to come just for the seriously big chocolate cake. My favorite reason to visit Cap City is for their brunch. It's a classic brunch menu. Their usual dinner rolls transform into magical cinnamon rolls. My friends and I usually go through several baskets. I usually opt for the omelet. If you're a brunch fan and have never been, I recommend adding this place to your to-do list. It's a perfect way to recap the weekend on a Sunday morning with friends.

Who says there's no good diners in Columbus?! Right back atcha! This bustling bistro is another marvelous masterpiece devised by our very own home-grown native, Cameron Mitchell. Cap City Fine Diner is not your typical "diner" like those that developed my highly-paid professional pallet back in New Jersey. The Greater Philadelphia & New York Diners are unbelievable to say the least. The menus are as long as the Constitution with every type of entree you can imagine. That type of menu isn't necessary for Mitchell's success. He takes the best of the best and adds more flavor than can can actaully fit into the portions. Their website states that they add "upscale touches" to the typical diner favorites. Their creations burst in every bite! Speaking of flavor, we always, always, always order the Veggie Platter either as an appetizer or an entree. Talk about unique and creative! You have to order it. I won't ruin the surprise by discussing all the details. As for the rest of the menu, you can't go wrong with the hot and tasty soups. Any meat and potato entree will please tantalize your taste buds, especially the meatloaf and mashed potatoes! Ohhhhhh Yeeeeaaaah! Now we're talkin'! You can dine-in and experience a high-energy crowd either in the dining room or at the boisterous bar. Or, you can order your feast to go and enjoy all that flavor at home or better yet, at somebody else's so that you don't have to do all the cleaning. :) Enjoy the experience of Columbus' most succesful restauranteur and unleash your taste buds for some real flavorful fun!

We went here today for our first time. We had heard about it but never had a chance to stop in. Really glad we did visit them for lunch today. I had the meatloaf and really thought it was almost as good as mine. LOL Really it is very good and a huge portion. I was not able to finish it all so I was nice and shared with my husband. He had the Reuben sandwich which he liked but he liked the meatloaf better. Our server was very attentive and kept my husband's glass full, which is a challenge!!!

Very disappointing meal there. Cucumber pear gimlet cocktail was watery and didn't taste like pear at all. Bad drink. But the glass of wine was nice. The Saturday blue plate special was a huge plate of overcooked food. But the side of wild rice salad was excellent. The service was poor in that the waiter seemed really out of it and it took him forever to bring things at 9:30 pm when the place was not very crowded. Pretzel and cheese dip appetizer was the best part of the meal. I had not eaten at a Cap City Diner in probably 6 or 7 years; the last time was at the one on Olentangy River Road. I remembered it as being a good restaurant but the one in Gahanna was not an experience that made me want to go back.

The food here is really delicious-an upscale diner feel. What I love about it the most is the gluten free menu! The GF fish and chips is delicious and they have quite a selection! Love it!

Generally when I go to a restaurant, I'll scan the menu, and four or five dishes will stand out right away, based on their ingredients/descriptions. Then I spend the next few minutes trying to decide between those four or five dishes. When I go to Cap City, I dunno, nothing ever seems to appeal to me based on the menu. I look and look, and can't get enthused about anything. Eventually I pick something, and it's always competent, but never outstanding. Maybe someone can suggest a dish to me that will change my mind. Another note... the chocolate cake. Everyone loves the chocolate cake, because the serving size could keep a third-world country well-fed for a week. I am not impressed by quantity. I can't comment on the quality because I've never ordered it, but just seeing one of those slabs of cake being delivered to a table annoys me.

The food is good, and the prices are reasonable. I'm a big fan of this place, especially for a late lunch. I usually go for the calamari for the appetizer and the meatloaf.

Nice place to come for an extended lunch when it's a long day at the office. They offer lunch specials and you can easily get full on under $10. I opted for the greek salad and it was a really small portion. But with a roll the meal was just enough for lunch. Colleagues had everything from the fork and knife hot dog (looked delicious) to the meatloaf (great presentation). Since most of the colleagues had not ate here before I ordered the chocolate cake, I love a good laugh. It was hysterical when they delivered one slice and one fork. One slice of cake at this diner can feed a family. Of course I shared and had some left over. Lunch was good.

Up-scalish diner with decent food and a cool vibe. I've been here several times and I love their spin on old school diner food. The meatloaf is excellent and I had one of the best pork loins I've EVER eaten in my life here. It was cooked to perfection....juicy on the inside bordering on a hint of pink.

Anytime someone suggests we go to Cap City for Dinner or Breakfast - I'm onboard! I have never had a bad meal or service. The food is really good, hot and tasty. If you go for brunch on the weekends, be sure to try the complimentary cinnamon rolls - delicious! Like other reviewers, I suggest getting the Maytag Blue Cheese chips - always a crowd pleaser. My personal favorite dish is the Romano Crusted Chicken. I was disappointed to learn that they stopped carrying my all-time favorite dessert! The peanut butter chocolate pie! I LOVED it, but for some reason they no longer offer it. I cried for days.... UPDATE: I just learned that they have my peanut butter chocolate pie back. Yes, I will be heading to Cap City this weekend for food....

I recently came to this location for the 'boyfriend meeting the parents for the first time' dinner and it was a great choice! I've always liked the food at the other location but we chose this one because it was the weekend with the Arnold Festival and the home and garden show and the gallery hop and we knew that everything closer to downtown would be packed. I think every one else thought the same thing. We had made reservations and the hostess at the door informed us that they were running behind and it would be about 15 minutes. Exactly 15 minutes later we were called. I don't mind having to wait when they are so on top of things as they are. Our server was nice but didn't seem overly interesting in making sure that our drinks were kept full and coming back to get our orders after getting our drink orders. I had one of their turkey Reuben sandwiches which I love that they use coleslaw instead of sauerkraut which gives it a nice, not-greasy crunch. Unfortunately, I couldn't have my favorite part of Cap City Diner - the dessert - I gave up sweets for Lent! I counted it off one star just because the other location is my favorite because of the patio. Still a great pace to come and I recommend it.

Gave it 5 stars because it gives you exactly what you expect. Great American cuisine in a relaxed environment. The Meatloaf is awesome and that's coming from someone who doesn't eat meatloaf.....ever. The Romano crusted chicken is also very good. Staff is an A++

Cap City is our go-to restaurant when we want something better than fast food but don't have the cash to spend on something fancy. The dishes are far from what you'd expect at a diner, and the balsamic chicken with spinach and peppers is to die for! The service can be slow on occasion, but it's worth the wait., especially if you've managed to save room for dessert. My husband loves the creme brulee, but for me it's go big or go home, and that means ordering a slice of the chocolate cake. It's easily big enough to serve three, and there's nothing quite like taking half home and taking it to work for lunch the next day. All in all I highly recommend Cap City!

11/23/11. Is dinner the day before Thanksgiving a good time to go out to dinner? If you go to Cap City it is. We had not been there in about three years. It is still the same: Excellent! MY wife and.Father split the meatloaf while I had the Romano Crusted Chicken. same large portions. but the server, who was also excellent, told us you can order a smaller "Lunch" or "Children's" portions. TIP: order the smaller portion and save room for desert. rTry the banana bread pudding. ome to think of it, order deset first.

This is one of those better-than-Applebee's-but-still-not-as-special-as-they-want-you-to-think-it-is places. The food is mostly freshly prepared in the open kitchen, and the menu (especially the specials and desserts) certainly stick to the brunch vibe, but you can't escape the fact that this is a Cameron Mitchell joint and thus part of a large corporation of restaurants, even if not a chain. Still, everything is well done, and it's certainly worth going here versus any chain. There were a couple hiccups on service, but the staff attended to them promptly, and neither was anything that disrupted our enjoyable meal. It's a reliable go-to type of place, but it falls short of being a destination.

I always try to stop into Cap City Diner when I fly into Columbus for business. Cameron Mitchell has a great menu at this place. We've had several group dinners there and everyon leaves happy. It's always fun to watch someone in your party eat the Seriously Big Chocolate Cake. It's a decadent three-layer cake that's huge.

I love this Cap City for family events and expense account lunches. It is food so good you will forget its not really healthy fare. Gahanna's Cap City is different from Grandview's because of volume both in people and sound. You can actually have a conversation here during lunch, and get a reservation for dinner. I am nutty over the turkey Reuben, skillet beans, and chicken Romano. The meatloaf and balsamic chicken are also popular favorites. For those who want to pretend to health food, try the salads. Each salad excluding the Cesar and House are truly big enough to constitute a meal. If you are still worried this won't fill you up, get a cup of their chili. The chili is full of flavor and goes nicely dipped in bread. Insider secret... Speaking of the dinner rolls, you can easily order them not baked and take home ready. I started ordering them ahead of time three years ago for Thanksgiving and they are now a family staple. Make sure you call waaaay in advance to let them know and get excited for dinner goodness.

I met up with a friend today here for lunch. I had pecan crusted fish with a pecan/cranberry/apple side salad. Perfect. The service was excellent! During the week, It's a great place to meet up w/ friends or a business associate. I recommend the weekends to bring a date or family.....They do have Sunday brunches and they are known for their Meatloaf. Movie Theater right next door!

As I'm fairly new to the Columbus area, I'm never short on suggestions from co-workers and acquaintances on what restaurants are the best in the area. I've heard from several people that Cap City is a Columbus-must, so we finally gave it a shot last night. They take reservations, which is always a plus on my list! I made a reservation for 7:30 on a Friday night - but we were just too hungry and made it in about 20 minutes early. It was busy and bustling with people, but there wasn't a wait and we were seated right away! I was surprised when we walked in the door... nothing about the restaurant screams "Diner" to me, outside of some diner-like options on the menu. Maybe it's just me, but when I think of "diner" I think of the atmosphere more than I think of the food. It's supposed to be a diner/artsy mixture, but I really didn't feel the diner vibe at all. Not having my expectations met wasn't a bad thing - I loved the decor and the vibe of the place, it was casual but not too casual, full of a variety of ages... there were couples and families and big groups. Our waitress was excellent. She made us feel the "fine" in Fine Dining & Bar. She was professional and polite, knowledgeable about the menu, available throughout our experience, friendly, and efficient! Now, the food! If you're looking for super cheap drinks, you're not in the right place. The cheapest beer on the menu was $4.50, which for a Bud Light, is not impressive. I ordered the non-alcoholic Peach Palmer and it came with an adorable little pitcher of its own, which ended up being about 2 1/2 drinks worth. Not bad for $3.49. Your meal starts with BREAD, which for some is an unwanted temptation and for others the most exciting part of the meal :-) These do make me think diner, if by diner you mean cheap and bland. Not great. Definitely not up to par with the menu items they offer. My husband got the Romano Crusted Chicken. It was good but not spectacular. The sauce was delicious, but the chicken didn't bring anything special to the table. I don't know that it's worth $17.29... but then again, it's one of the cheaper items on the "large plates" menu, so maybe if you spend more money you get your money's worth ;-) I got the Crab Cake Melt for 13.49 and it was AH-MAZING. The jalapeno remoulade really made the difference for me. I was unsure about the English Muffin when I ordered it, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I loved, loved, loved it!! Cap City really is a great experience with delicious food but I'm going to have to take a star away for the price. I don't know that I'm a fan of a casual atmosphere with a non-casual menu and price tag. If I want to spend a little more money on good food, I'm usually up for more of a "date night" atmosphere with a little bit of fancy in the mixture. There were kids everywhere, which is appropriate in the atmosphere, but I don't think I want to spend the money to eat at a place that has a mother and young son in a bit of a verbal brawl at the next table. Great experience, just not my style.

Always a great place for a casual easy dinner. We were greeted and seated promptly. We had the chicken wings and calamari as appetizers. My mom and aunt shared the pecan crusted pork chops, which looked really good. My aunt said they were very tender. The meat loaf was good as well and very filling. It is always a treat to come here for dinner whenever I come home to Columbus.

The food was really good. Although I've had better food from real diners that cost a fraction of the price. I know the old saying you get what you pay for but I'll take those old small places over Cameron Mitchell's jacked up prices. This restaurant is okay for pricey diner food.

Love Cap City!! Food is excellent!! I haven't had anything I didn't like, plus their gluten free fish & chips are super great. My brother in law has Celiac disease & has never had gluten free breaded fish like theirs! Service is great! Nothing negative at Cap City!!

True story: A long time ago, this was the first Cameron Mitchell restaurant I ever ate in. More years later than I want to admit, they haven't changed much, but I don't think that's so bad. You go to Cap CIty because you want the upscale diner atmosphere, the drinks, the well executed comfort food (dat mealoaf!!!) and going to a restaurant where the "experience" has been carefully crafted and polished over the years. I've never had a bad meal here, and on the rare occasions where I felt there was a problem, the staff was quick to respond and correct it. Aside from the meatloaf, some of my favorites here are the maytag bleu cheese chips, the crab cake sandwhich (stuffed to the brim with ACTUAL CRAB!), and their blue plate special Beef Stroganoff - fantastic, creamy, and almost overloaded with mushrooms! Somehow, despite going here again and again, I've never been for brunch - always lunch or dinner - but I have no doubt that it's just as solid. Oh, and don't forget to leave room for the truly massive chocolate cake...

They do the diner classics better with a few different items thrown in. Had a birthday lunch celebration with a few coworkers. Went with the crab cake melt (no melt). A good crab cake with a great English muffin and fruit. Indulgence and some health. Our waitress, Dana was very friendly and attentive. When we asked more questions on the soup of the day (Carmelized onion with mushrooms) she offered to bring a sample. My coworker wanted to take the rest of her ice tea and asked for a to-go cup, then realized we needed to get back for a meeting and to leave without the tea. Dana found us in the parking lot with ice tea in hand. (That alone deserves a star).

Hubby found this place on yelp and we stopped by for HH. He had beer and I had a cucumber cocktail. Most I tried has a hint of cucumber, this has strong taste of it. Just what I was looking for in a cuke cocktail but never found. We started w HH muscles then had 2 more orders after that. They were delish. Also had the crab cake, was very good too. I definitely will come back to try dinner if I'm ever in this neighborhood again.

Really nice, classy, clean place. Very cool decor that looks just like what an old diner might look like. We weren't fans of their sweet and sour calamari, it was a bit mushy, but enjoyed our entrees! My husband said this was the best Philly cheesesteak he's ever had. Service was prompt and friendly, but we were a little shocked at the prices. It didn't seem that there was much on the menu under $15, so while one would expect lower prices for a casual diner, don't do so at Cap City. It's casual dining, with slightly more upscale food options and prices.

This is one of two Cap City Diner locations in Columbus. It is part of the Cameron Mitchell restaurants that are locally owned. This local chain began more than 20 years ago. This location is situated in a large strip mall shopping center. Although plenty of parking around, the location is quite busy, especially on weekends. I do recommend making reservations on weekends to minimize long waits. I'd describe the interior as a contemporary looking diner with silver plated doors and red vinyl seating. It was pretty noisy inside with all the sounds of families celebrating special occasions and a hustling kitchen staff. Same great menu selections as available at her sister location in Grandview. I love the "comfort" food, especially their meatloaf. Portion sizes are generous. Either come with a hearty appetite or take home what you cannot finish in one seating. A couple of us had their meatloaf and the others had their pecan encrusted pork chops. All enjoyed their meals.

We've been coming here for the last couple of years. The people here are wonderful and deliver super service. The food is consistently spot on. For the first time I tried the crab cake sandwich and it was excellent. Come for Sunday brunch too and you won't be disappointed. There would have been a picture but I ate everything before I remembered to take a snap.

Great decor. Great food. Interesting concept with the "fine" dining diner. Won't be back though. Way too pricey for this environment for me. If I'm going to spend on the higher end then I want to be in a higher in restaurant. Good selection, good food, and service was excellence.

Went here the other night to celebrate a birthday and eat before a blue jackets game so it was pretty early. Reservations were definitely not necessary at 5 pm... However by 6 pm it was packed so I would definitely recommend reservations for normal dinner time. It was early so there wasn't much ambiance. We got stuck at a corner table. I can tell they tried to give off a 50s diner vibe but it really isn't working at this location. The one on Olentangy feels much more like a diner. Something about the darkness of this spot reminds you that you are literally sitting next to a grocery store. We ordered pretty quickly and the food came out eerily fast. I had the pork chops. They were tiny if you were Hagrid from Harry Potter (honestly, I shouldn't have to explain that reference). Okay, so they were massive. The meat was super tender, but the glaze topping was too sweet and gave me Charlie and the Chocolate Factory flashbacks. The cheddar mashed potatoes and spinach were delightful. I would order this again just for the sides. That's how good they were. My friend ordered the meatloaf. It was a massive pile of food that Hagrid couldn't even finish (2nd reference). Needless to say, we needed boxes after about 5 minutes because we were stuffed full (this is a good thing). We knew we had to get dessert and ordered the key lime pie. The pie was a work of art and it was pretty tasty. My only complaint was it needed more lime. I think everyone who has been falsely accused of opening the chamber of secrets would agree with me (hat trick). The service was excellent but I think I left a little disappointed overall. I feel like for the price, you should get so much more. But I would probably go back again if in the area because there isn't much else around here. Stick to the sandwiches and plan on getting dessert.

My mom and I came here for lunch after getting pedicures for a girls day out last weekend. It was a Saturday in early afternoon and there weren't many people. Cap City is a Cameron Mitchell restaurant, so the decor and atmosphere feel fancy, but the food is good diner eating. I tried the blackberry and sage lemonade and it was very good, but sweeter than I normally like for lemonade. To eat, I got the chicken Milanese salad, which was a very delicious (probably the best I ever had) caesar salad with chicken Milanese on top. It was a HUGE salad and very tasty. I don't order salads often, but I would get this one again.

Triple Decker Grilled Cheese? YES, please! I love me some Cap City. I'm a simple girl. I don't want to branch out and try new, fancy dishes, and that is why I love Cap City. It's a place where I can go to order an upscale grilled cheese, while friends order "fancier" dishes. I typically visit the Olentangy location, but I met some friends for dinner at the Gahanna location last week. Our service was fantastic. The waiter was attentive, friendly, and fast - which ended with him getting a nice tip!

  • Suzanne F.

Yes my family and I love this place as it's pretty consistent with quality and flavor. I do have to say I miss the ravioli and the grilled chicken sandwich but the meatloaf and Romano chicken remain so I'm happy! I got the good old meatloaf as it never disappoints but my hubby got the BBQ chicken salad and he said it lacked chicken. My son got the triple decker grilled cheese and he thought it lacked in size and the amount of French fries he received. Our server was nice and quite capable but due to the overall experience I can't give it s higher rating which makes me sad.

Well, yeah...it was ok. Would I give them my first born child? Eh, not really. Service was "ok", I've had better. Several tables seated around us were seated after but served before we were. Both of which had larger parties, so it didn't make sense. The server was very nice but nothing I haven't seen before. Our dinner started with the Maytag chips. I'm normally a big fan of Maytag chips, but I just didn't really care for the sauce here. My appetizer was also accompanied by a wedge salad which was very tasty with the right amount of toppings. For dinner, I had the short rub which was a blue plate special. Great flavor and you could basically eat this with just a fork, it was THAT tender. The side was carrots and parsnips which is not terribly common. The carrots were as expected and the parsnips were very crisp and light with a sweet flavor. They paired well with the short ribs which are richer and heavier. The better half had the New York Strip which was so so. The flavor was decent but could have used more salt. The vegetables were enjoyable, crisp and decent flavor, nothing over the moon. All in all it was an $80+ dinner, and we walked away asking how. Would I recommend it? Well, I'm fifty fifty I guess. It was good, just seemed a bit overpriced for what we got.

I have been a fan of Cap City for several years... but this visit really took the cake. Less than 30 minutes prior to our arrival, we got up and left from another restaurant down the street... We walked in and were immediately seated, and within 5 minutes, we had our drinks and had placed an appetizer order... and less than 30 minutes after being seated, we had our entrees. We started with the Old Bay Peel and Eat Shrimp - these are enough to bring you back! The crab louie sauce just adds that extra something... they're also served with the typical cocktail sauce. My husband ordered the meatloaf - he loved it! The presentation was spectacular. I had the triple decker grilled cheese... it was awesome, but next time I will order it with mayo instread of mustard. The food and our sever, Byrnaise, really saved our evening!

We dined for Easter. We sat at the bar where the service was fast and attentive. The meatloaf was outstanding. The fried chicken was good but a little much on the honey for my taste. We also had a slice of apple pie for desert where the meal took a turn. We really did not like the pie. I prefer a flaky pie crust made in the classic way with shortening. The pie crust was made with butter and was the texture of a croissant. It was very bad tasting and the texture was awful. The seasoning of the pie was also poorly flavored. I think they are trying too hard. Use the home cooked inspiration you got for your meatloaf, fellas and apply it to you apple pie. The slice was large but 8 bucks? Not close to good value. Cap city is good but I'd avoid the apple pie until they get a new recipe.

Great food and pretty good service. Had a most excellent veggie burger and chocolate cake was the bomb. Only issue I have is price. Just a bit too much. They are not the high end joint they are pretending to be.

Came for brunch and was quite impressed. The atmosphere is very chique and polished which is quite in line with an "upscale" diner. My husband had the hash and I had the stuffed french toast. There were delectable cinnamon rolls to start which I totally demolished. His hash was intensely delicious- there was a good balance of short rib, potato, onion and pepper. My french toast was really good, the sauce was intense. Overall, I would've liked to see more "brunch" items (there are only 6 listed and no pancakes or waffles, in fact the french toast is their only sweet option). Looking forward to going back for dinner/luch sometime in near future.

I think this might be my brunch spot for the forseeable future. I need to explore the myriad of lemonades on the menu. There were 3 of us at brunch yesterday, all sleepy and starving. This place hit the spot. The other 2 had mimosas while I went for the strawberry basil lemonade. The only thing I liked better than the lemonade was the rolls they set out; they were the usual Cap City rolls but with butter, cinnamon/sugar and a drizzle of glaze. The boyfriend was away from the table and we had to force ourselves to leave him one. I ended up with the breakfast burrito which was spicy, yet flavorful. It was stuffed with chorizo sausage and a light smattering of eggs (perfect proportions, IMO). The boy had the steak and eggs which looked good, although he wasn't impressed with the potatoes on the side. Our third had the stuffed french toast which looked amazing. She said they were sweet but not too sweet. Overall, I was pleased. We walked out of there a little lighter in the wallets but pleasantly full and happy.

Amazing!! My hubby and I live across the street and order the creme brûlée and carrot cake to go regularly when we need an indulgence!!!! The first trip was a bit of a shock-we had never been to a Cameron Mitchell restaurant and got a gift card as a gift. It was shockingly family oriented-so I was a bit over dressed-but I should have expected that!!! The only complaint I have is we made our reservations 3 weeks in advanced, and was sat in a booth with a family who had 3 screaming children. The hostess was clearly annoyed and very rude when we asked to be moved somewhere else-so we just stayed where we were sitting and told her to forget it. Our waitress was great, however-and I ordered the tilapia topped with crab imperial-do yourself a favor-GET THIS! I'm from maryland so I never order seafood here in Ohio-this is a great dish though. The potatoes and veggies (including zucchini-my fav!) that came with were perfect. My hubby got the meat loaf-if you're into meatloaf-this is it. The site of meatloaf typically turns my off-but he made me try a bite-and I can honestly say I'd consider ordering it myself. Like I said, desert was great as well. So glad to have found creme brûlée near by-it's my fav!!! If you're looking for somewhere on the nicer side-but still family friendly -this is for you!

Cap City is great! Service is friendly and attentive, and the manager stopped by to see how we were doing. The decor and menu reflect the fine diner atmosphere very well, with a retro look to the place and a menu that includes blue plate specials and diner favorites. My husband had the Fried Chicken, which is his favorite dish at both locations. Portion size is generous, and the chicken is moist and juicy with a nice crust. He especially likes the addition of nuts to the green beans. Mashed potatoes and gravy round out the meal. The gluten free menu here has more options than at the other location, and they also offer gluten free rolls - including with the delicious cinnamon topping during weekend brunch! That was a nice touch that I very much enjoyed. My goal in traveling out to try this Cap City was to try the Crispy Fish & Chips off the gluten free menu, which is not offered at the Grandview location. It was well worth it! The fish is moist and flavorful, and the coating, made from Red Bridge gf beer and Bob's Red Mill gf flour, is light and crispy. The fries were golden and perfect, and the slaw was delicious (and I'm not normally a slaw person). The serving was quite generous, and I brought half home. Located in a shopping center, this Cap City also wins on ease of parking... it was plentiful, and easy to get in and out of this location.

Had an amazing meal here tonight. I've eaten here many times but never reviewed it. The service is excellent. I highly recommend the meat loaf and the beef stroganoff. The rolls are excellent and the carrot cake is super great. I'll return soon for sure!

Have traveled to Columbus OH before, and can't believe I didn't know this place. Suggested to me by a co-worker, and I will return. Entrees looked great, but I stuck with the happy hour specials as I wasn't very hungry. Portions were huge. I had a beer, crab cake, and gigantic pretzel with cheese. Crap cake was full of crab and had great flavor, pretzel was huge and steaming hot. Cheese dip was better than the standard most places serve. Service was okay, but not real friendly.

Amazing. The Southern Fried chicken was just amazing, and I truly love the basil-strawberry lemonade. Chad the waiter was an ideal server: at the table the exactly right amount of time, leaving us be when we wanted, and yet our glasses remained full. Like he used to be a ninja before this career change. Everyone went home feeling fat and happy and planning when to return. Definitely make reservations for larger groups, it can get crowded.

I was a little skeptical before we chose this place however as soon as we walked in it was like a time warp of the 60's. Reminded me of a real diner back in the day but very contemporary. I was very impressed by the décor. You just don't see places like this anymore. I wanted a cheeseburger and fries. Now I can only eat homemade burgers so I was a little worried. I ordered it medium well. Let me tell you, this was probably the best burger I ever had. It was cooked to perfection. The cooking area was extremely clean and organized. After dinner we ordered dessert. Not wanting a large slice of cake that I would never finish, the waitress split the cake slice into thirds. That is how big one slice is. We took it to-go because we were so full. Later while in my hotel room I ate the cake. OMG, this chocolate cake was amazing. Very moist and the chocolate wasn't overpowering. Make sure you try one of their desserts.

First of all, six people do not fit in a booth. Period. I have always really enjoyed Cap City, however, it has been several years since our last visit. So when we planned to visit for a birthday celebration I was excited to get back there. We made a reservation for six and were seated fairly quickly when we arrived. I was extremely disappointed to see the hostess walk us to a booth built for four and expect 6 adults to squeeze in. If this meal was going to cost me $50 instead of $150, I still would have been disappointed with crowding in. I couldn't say anything because I wanted to be sure I didn't ruin the mood. We all ordered interesting meals and they all were served professionally and looked great. The part that really surprised us was that there is zero flavor in their food. The pork chops were tough and bland. The best thing on the plate was the cooked greens. What did I just say? That's crazy. The crusted chicken didn't have flavor either. The southern fried chicken? Same thing. What goes in this stuff? It all taste the same. How do they make it look so good? But can't give it a flavor or seasoning that makes it special? I really thought that this food came off of a healthy recipe menu being pushed by Dr Oz. One of us were lucky and ordered the popular meatloaf and it was as good as we remembered it. For that I give it the three stars. The restaurant looks great and it is filled with people. Makes it an interesting place to go. I did forget how bad their cheese dip is in the pretzel appetizer. Don't order that. The rolls that are served are as plain as a cheap piece of white sandwich bread. Don't waste the calories. Order another drink instead. We had a really awesome waiter so it was an OK dining experience.

Amazing comfort food. Hit this place up during the winter you'll truly be happy. Best key lime pie in town.
