This one is an easy five stars! The service was great, the manager stopped by our table, and the food is really well constructed. I am going to give top props to the chefs for the recipes as everything we had was first class. Our group of picky foodies stopped in and was not disappointed. My personal favorite : the meatloaf. Rockin. This was our pleasant surprise in Columbus!

Went for brunch here today. Could not complain about anything. Great service, food was excellent and was just what we needed. I ordered the eggs Benedict and my partner ordered the French toast. Everything came out in a timely fashion and hit the spot. Look forward to coming back.

I was visiting from Pittsburgh and Loved it. I sat outside and enjoyed the weather. I had very good service. I had the lobster bisque and chicken salad which were great! I REALLY loved the FRENCH BREAD they gave you with dinner, it complimented the bisque and salad..... I asked FOR MORE! ;)

We absolutely love the brunch menu here. The staff is professional and the host and hostesses are always welcoming and accommodating. I even love to sit at the bar. While at Bon Vie you feel a little bit like you are in France. Can't wait to go back. The Bloody Marys are fantastic by the way.

I know it's a chain, but came here for happy hour with work friends and had a great time! Good apps (recommend some sautéed shrimp app) and wine! Service was good too!

Came to Columbus for a pleasure trip. We were content with eating on the patio until it rained so indoors we went. It was an opened seating situation and we grabbed good seats. Our food came quickly and it really was good. I will be back for a different dish. Lol

This is one of the restaurants that I always visit when I come back to Ohio for breaks. Their lobster bisque is some of the best that I've ever had. They did take my favorite dish off the menu, but the last time I was there they were able to make it. The entree was crab mac & cheese and the breadcrumbs on top really just made it perfect. We always go on Wednesdays because of the $5 martinis. They are wonderful! This restaurant has a perfect location and it's really beautiful to walk around, especially at Christmas time.

After reviewing several different possibilities, my husband and I settled on Bon Vie for our Valentine's Day dinner. I have to say that the whole experience, pretty much from top to bottom, was fantastic. Admittedly, the parking situation at Easton leaves a fair amount to be desired, but beyond that, I can't say that I really have any complaints. My husband got the campanelle along with a bowl of French onion soup, and I got the NY strip. Both of us loved our meals along with the complimentary bread that was brought out. This is another establishment that provides very significant portions, so we both ended up with plenty to take home for another meal. Our waitress also brought out a dessert platter from which we chose the berry clafoutis. Neither of us had ever had it before, but I have to say we were very satisfied. And I have to say that the service really was just tremendous. The hosts were pleasant and got us seated quickly. Our server was engaging and attentive. The restaurant was quite busy, but it never felt like we were waiting very long for anything. Also, the person who I assume was the manager came by to talk to us on more than one occasion, and she really helped to make us feel welcomed there. We'll definitely be going back in the future.

Service was excellent, the patio is very romantic and they have a nice wine menu but the food is mediocre. The roquefort frites are a scam, where is the cheese??!!? The pasta carbonara tasted like frozen food and the chicken crepes were flavorless. We won't return, sorry.

I was visiting from out of town, and had to come and eat some food--this is where I ended up! Ambiance: 3 - It was nice inside; very intimate and sweet. It's actually pretty big, but there's nothing really crazy special about the place. Though, when it gets dark, it actually does turn pretty romantic..but I was there for a business dinner, so that's pretty irrelevant :P !! Service: 4 - The service was very good. They were very fast and super nice to boot! Our server was willing to explain all the food, and any food allergies anyone at our table might have had! Food: 1 - I'm sorry to say it, but it just wasn't good. I've just had better Italian at Olive Garden. Nothing really stood out, and a lot of it was bland. If I had to say something was okay, it's the cheese that they put on their appetizers. If they were willing to just give me cheese on a plate, I'd be okay. Though I would never eat here on a regular basis, I just hope that their "Italian" improves if I do have to come back next year!

Came here for lunch yesterday before seeing a movie. The wine selection is decent, their beer choices are good and the service was attentive. We had the cheese fondue and it was brought out cold, which I thought was odd. The burger sliders were good, the fries were crunchy and not soggy. For being a French restaurant, I didn't see many items that I would consider French cuisine but whatever. The food I ordered was good and I left satisfied.

I'll start off by saying that I did go here at an odd time so maybe this experience may not be very accurate. Disclaimer being said, this place very greatly failed to amaze me. We got seated right away since we went at an odd hour, but the waiter took forever to take our orders. When we finally did get our order in, it took VERY long for us to finally get our food. I ordered the crab cakes and it came with a side of vegetables with potatoes. The potatoes were very very bland which was a disappointment because I love potatoes. They also tasted soggy. The vegetables had portions that were either under cooked or overly salty. Overall the side was a disappointment. Onto the crabcakes, I can't say those were that good either. The only thing that saved them from being terrible was the sauce which was good. The crab cakes had an odd texture and overall was disappointing considering the price.

Enjoyed dinner with the kids here for New Years Eve. Staff went out of their way to make room for our sleeping kid in stroller. Waitress was awesome. And food was amazing. Try the Crepes and the Brie App.

Place was great. Same management as Brio, which was awkward cause they had the same menu items. So...how are they different restaurants again?? Atmosphere nice. enjoyable.

We went here with a party of 12, sat at a table with a direct view of the round about in front of Tiffany's. The view was beautiful, especially with all the Christmas lights. However, that's where our positive experience ended. I haven't had too much experience with French food before, but this place was more American than French. I ordered a medium New York strip, and it was definitely cooked medium rare. Aside from that, at least three of us got the wrong food. Two other guys and I did not get our food until everyone else in our party was finished with half of their food! I had specifically ordered my steak with Mac n Cheese instead of mashed potatoes...but what did my steak come with? Mashed potatoes. When they realized their mistake, they brought me their Mac n cheese, which was delicious...however the steak was not flavorful at all and was too rare...but I didn't complain since I was too hungry. The other two guys who got their food late were not as fortunate. Neither of their steaks were done correctly, then it took the kitchen another 20 or 30 minutes to finally bring out their food...so the rest of us just watched them eat. For a restaurant that comes off as "nice", I think this is unacceptable. The restaurant manager did give everyone $10 vouchers, lots of free drinks, and free desserts. I'd have to say their desserts were amazing...which bumps the rating from 2 stars to 3 stars. I honestly don't think I'll be going there again. Maybe if the party was smaller the service would have been better, but I was still disappointed in the steak

A decent atmosphere, but far too large for a really intimate meal with someone. The wine list is particularly disappointing. In a French-themed restaurant, one would expect at least some French standards on the list (sancerre, vouvray, etc.). There were more American and Italians wines on the list, which was a disappointment. The food choices are rather cliche, and represent unimaginative interpretations of French classics. I was unimpressed with the offerings on the lunch menu. The Sunday brunch menu presented a few decent options, including Eggs Benedict and a Croque Madame. I had the latter, and was pleased--it was almost authentic, although the addition of Hollandaise sauce was a bit off-putting. And while most French sandwiches come with a very light salad of a few fronds of a frisee lettuce, this plate was dominated by an American-sized spinach salad that was tasty but a bit of a turn-off just due to its abrasive presence on the plate. Presentation was distinctly American. Overall, I probably won't eat there again. The waitstaff were nice and attentive. But overall I have dined at far more authentic French bistros in this country at less cost and with better quality food and drink.

Pretty good menu. A family-friendly environment, great for large parties. Request the large round table for any party over 10--- it's awesome.

Oh Bon Vie. You never get old. My favorite thing from here is their cheese board. Although not on the menu (I'm not sure why they should definitely rethink that decision) you can ask the server and they can make one for you. The lobster bisque is always awesome and I can never not get it when i go. I also tried the chicken salad croissant the other day. Very delicious!! Love this place.

This was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. We were warmly greated upon arrival. I had done some shopping prior to dinner, and we were given a table that had plenty of room for me to place by bags on a seat vs on the floor ~ I am sure this was coincendnce, however, I'd like to think they did it on purpose. The waiter was extremely friendly, and was prompt with putting in our lobster bisque order... YUM! My husband ordered the Chicken Crepes, and I chose my usual, Roquefort Crusted Filet.... both were excellent. The crepes were creamy, and cooked to perfection. My filet was a large, excellent cut.... succulent. The only complaint, my side of mashed potatoes.... they had an odd texture... almost instant like... they paired well with something I already had at home. I defintely will return!

Our waitress was borderline terrible. She took forever to come back to our table and the restaurant wasn't even very busy. However, when my beer was almost empty - she was over right away to jack up our bill. Manager must of noticed us not getting checked on. Came right over checked on our orders and for that I was appreciative. The food was excellent. Best filet I've had in awhile. I liked the option of getting fruit served with it. Beer choices are rather slilm - yet I understand wine will dominate a French restaurant.

This visit started off on the wrong foot, but got better. We'd never been before and wanted brunch; Bon Vie was close and sounded good (though some of the reviews weren't great.) When we got inside, there were several groups waiting; the staff "needed to clean some tables." This took awhile, and more people were waiting, while table-cleaning proceeded slowly. Once we were seated, though, things looked up. Our waitress was great, the food was good, and we left satisfied. Sweetie had the berry french toast, which was very good. I had the chorizo scramble, with potatoes and onions and plenty of fairly spicy chorizo. We shared an order of lobster bisque (they split it into two bowls for us.) Bon Vie is related to Brio, so it was the same great bisque. Even though I was full I went for dessert, choosing from their tray full of tempting sweets. I had the berry clafouti, which made me forget I was full. I had hoped to eat a few bites and take most of it home, but it was so good I polished it off. Can't say I was reminded of a French bistro, though they did try. Overall a good meal, and excellent service once we were finally seated.

Stopped in for brunch one day while shopping at Easton. Food was decent. The beef stroganoff and quiche were tasty. Standout was the fondue. Delicious! What made our experience so great? Our waiter, Blake. He was so sweet and adorable and tended to every requested with a great smile!

The food was delicious. It took 10 minutes for a waiter to come to the table, wrong menus, wrong drinks, appetizer went to the wrong table, no bread. The service was horrible and will never be back. Should have known when it was the only restaurant without a wait.

There's nothing too special about the food at Bon Vie. I went in and got what I expected. Satisfying, but not enough to make me want to come back. My party started off with the Roquefort Frites (fries roquefort cheese and a horseradish sauce) and Tomato flatbread appetizers. The Fries were nice and crispy and the cheese and sauce complimented each other well, but the flatbread was just whatever. As for the entrees, I had the Parmesan Crusted Chicken which wasn't too bad, but came served next to a blob of spinach and slightly deformed crispy potatoes. Overall, my friends were saying their food wasn't too bad, but the general consensus was that everything was a little too salty. As for the service, it was a little bit slow. The restaurant wasn't crowded at all when we went and still had trouble spotting the waiter. He barely walked by to check up on us and we would have to wait 10-15 minutes before he finally walked by close enough for us to get his attention. Overall, not a horrible experience, but there are plenty of other restaurants in the area I would go to over Bon Vie.

I have been to Bon Vie twice now while in town for work. The service is outstanding- friendly but not overbearing wait staff, very attentive. The tomato bisque is great, especially when you dip the warm bread into it. I also enjoyed several appetizers. My only complaint would be that the mac and cheese is very dry- I would suggest adding some creamier cheese to the dish so it feels richer and more moist.

A solid meal, but probably not a place I would frequent if I lived here. Not a lot of places were open as our group looked for a dinner spot before catching a New Year's Day movie. Had the shrimp arribiata and it was pretty good, perfectly portioned so that I felt full afterwards but not overstuffed like pasta can leave you feeling. Tried a bite of the chicken crepes but didn't particularly care for them. Too much egg taste. So, not a bad experience in the least and I would certainly return, though I do tend to go for places that are a bit cheaper for regular consumption.

Fabulous brunch In the easton area checking for breakfast and noticed Bon Vie had offerings. The brunch menu is limited which gave me pause at first, but tried it out anyway. The service was excellent and I decided on the french toast and eggs Bon Vie. Both were phenomenal; the french toast tasty but not overly sweet. The eggs bon vie was a tad salty but full of flavor. I was very pleased with their offerings. I highly recommend for brunch.

Stopped by for a late lunch. The restaurant was not very busy but when seated we waited 7 minutes for first contact from server as she did her side work. Ordered french onion soup which was respectable, chicken cordon burger which was not very flavorful, did not taste the ham at all and quiche which tasted okay but served barely warm. Just an average experience not really worth the money.

Fabulous location. Very friendly servers and great outdoor seating. We first visited Bon Vie when I came to Columbus for an interview, and it was one of the selling points. Lovely area overlooking the main fountain in Easton, gives the illusion of eating out at a wonderful Parisian cafe in France. The martinis are excellent as is their wine selection. The martinis are $5 on Wednesdays. The salt & pepper shrimp appetizer is outstanding, as are their mussels and flatbread. The steaks are not bad although not their strongest suite. Instead go for the pastas or get the fondue. The indoor seating is a bit dull, so we don't come often in the winter, but it's a must visit during the summer.

We were there for dinner during restaurant week in Jan 2014. The food was good and served quickly. However, based on my experience (this was my first time dining there) I would not return. The attitude of the servers came across as insincere, stood way to close to my face and were out of line with their comments. It is inappropriate to address me as a "beautiful woman" and my boy friend as "handsome" every time you visit our table. This was done by a female server. The male server we had took our order at face level (bending down to the table) and his face was uncomfortably close to mine. Asking if my food was "Tasting fantastic" does not come across naturally. All in all, I would not return. There are other places with better service and better food.

Sat at the bar on a business trip. I was quickly approached by the bartender and greeted. He made thoughtful drink suggestions and didn't rush me. Excused himself to take neighboring couples order. He wad extremely knowledgeable about stitches and helped the select a single malt, then came back to me. He demonstrated equal food knowledge and helped me make food selections. Pepper shrimp were amazing and I shamefully finished the whole thing. Next up the Chicken Crepes, again a great presentation and taste. Will come back if ever in the area. The whole experience was a surprising delight that doesn't happen as often as I would like when traveling.

I have been to this restaurant twice since I came to Columbus this August. The fist time I ordered the dessert. It tastes pretty good, but just a little bit too sweet. It looks very delicate. The second time I went to Bon Vie, I ordered the steak. The steak looks and tastes very nice. The fries come with the steak is so good. Love it! The service here is good but a little bit slow. And it takes very long to get the food ready. The environment is very nice, and I really enjoyed having dinner with my friends there. It is a good place to meet some friends and have a nice dinner.

Had lunch here on a rainy Thursday. Beautiful restaurant in the lovely Easton Town Center. I had a croque monsieur which came with a small salad. My friend had the bistro salad and French onion soup. We both enjoyed our meals. My sandwich was delicious! The service was attentive in the mostly-empty restaurant.

My family decided to take a weekend to visit me...and go shopping around Easton. But where to take them...? In mind of certain likes/dislikes of my guests, I eventually decided that Bon Vie would be a good bet. I've been wanting to get back and give it another try anyways. It turned out to be a good choice and went over very well with my parents. We came in on a Sunday and at such a time that brunch was still available. Oh but the difficulty this gave me in deciding what to order! Chocolate-hazelnut crepes with berries? Eggs bon vie (pastry puffs with egg, bacon, gouda, etc)? Craving something a little salty, I eventually went with the turkey and bacon crepe. It's not very big, especially for $12.35, but you really don't need any more and the taste is great. I especially loved the tang of the Mornay sauce and fresh tomatoes on top. I'm not as big a fan of the B. V. potatoes, though. Similar to the "greek" potatoes I like to make, they have a bit of lemon and herb flavor, but are also heavy on the spice (cayenne?) and onion flavors. If you like that, you'll love these. They do have a good texture and are pleasantly different from the standard "home fries". Meanwhile, my companions ordered more typical "lunch" plates. Dad tried the quiche Lorraine, which was good sized with a nice flavor and smooth texture. Mom had a tilapia wrap which she enjoyed. It reminded me of a good fish taco. As she had ordered it as a half-soup/half-sandwich combo, she also had the lobster bisque which she said was very good. Service was fine - above average. Overall, it was a good choice and very tasty. ....definitely need to get back for those chocolate-hazelnut crepes at some point, though.

I'm a big fan of their drunk brunch, and I don't think I've been here for anything else. The service has always been great - no matter my company, no matter if it's one pitcher or several pitchers of mimosas. The food? Has always been great. Love it and will always come back for brunch.

This place was really just OK. The waitress was fine but definitely frazzled the whole time we were there. She made awkward jokes when she'd forget things, but she was nice. Just weird. To start we had stiff bread... and apparently that is how it was supposed to be served. The bread is very hard and stiff and they want it that way! I don't really get it but whatever. I opted for the fish and chips, and typically that comes with a lot of fish! There was one small to medium sized fish filet and it was fine but nothing special. The fries were good. Everyone else I ate with enjoyed their meals. Around the table I saw the sliders, a salad, and some bisque. So, overall, it was fine.

I came here for lunch with my husband and his parents. My mother-in-law loves this restaurant, but my husband and I thought it was okay. Some positives include: 1) fresh baked bread and creamy butter 2) Roquefort fries appetizer 3) French onion soup Negatives: 1) pricey 2) DV Wedge salad - way too much dressing I wouldn't mind coming again, perhaps I ordered wrong. My husband had the Crispy Shrimp salad, which he did not like and my father-in-law had the fish and chips which was over breaded.

Quite possibly the best over-all dining experience of my life (and that's 62+ years). From the greeting at the door until the "thank you for coming in" as I departed, the service was impeccable. I was seated quickly, my server, Diamond was explaining the specials to me within minutes. My beverage was delivered minutes after ordering and I have never been served my entrée faster...which scared me a bit. Did they just throw it in the microwave? No way! I ordered the crab encrusted tilapia and it was prepared perfectly. Temperature...perfect. Seasoning...perfect. Presentation on a bed of red pepper, skinny green beans, onions, carrots and broccoli...perfect. Half-way through my meal, one of the managers stopped by my table to inquire how everything was. I appreciated the attention and felt that she really did care what I thought. The restaurant is casually elegant and classy. Thank you Bon Vie for a great experience. See you again next time I'm in town.

This merits one star because of its Easton location and its patio seating. The service was chaotic starting with our bread being actually tossed on our table as our server hustled by; a request for a wine recommendation resulted in our waitress reading us the categories of wine ("duh!", and even mispronouncing them) but offering no insight into any of them. The house dinner salad ordered was limp, unattractive, not dressed and had a minuscule amount of cheese on it. The nut crusted chicken salad was equally limp with chicken crusted hard and a gloppy honey mustard mess on top. The fettuccini was sticky, colorless, and tasteless. There was not one pleasant thing about this meal except my companion, and the restaurant had no part in that! Please remind me to never return. I have consistently found Bon Vie disappointing.

  • Amanda A.

The food is delicious and the service is great. The restaurant gets very packed very fast though and on one occasion they could only offer us bar seating or it was an hour long wait. Despite that I really love the food here. I wouldn't frequent here often but only because it's rather expensive.

I love Bon Vie. One of my favorite. Fun ambience, great food, one of a kind. The drinks are unique, the service is timely and helpful, the meals are so delectable especially the blue cheese fries! Everything in the menu is amazing! The service there is outstanding and I have never had a problem with the service there, the food comes very quick and easy! There are great selections for kids like the tasteful Mac and cheese and the amazing hamburgers! You should definitely try Bon Vie because of the outstanding meals!

The service continues to be excellent, but some bad news - the prices continue to increase, and the apps aren't as good as they once were. The mussels have declined, the ahi tuna is still absent, and though my wife loves it, I'm only so-so on the pseudo-spicy shrimp (though I admit that the bread and sauce for it is fantastic). Their steaks are quite good, the tournedos in particular being a solid order, and they do a great job on pork chops as well. They had an AMAZING treat for Valentine's Day not long ago (lamb chops with a portabello demi glace, strawberry balsamic salad and a dessert - a one time go, unfortunately, but if it reappears and you're there - GET IT). Still GOOD, but not what it once was. I'll continue to go on occasion, but I've given up my fiefdom here for the foreseeable future.

Delicious food, reasonable prices, great service, and only a 10 minute wait for a party of 4 on a Friday? Bon Vie has my vote. I enjoyed the petit filet (which I made difficult for the server by subbing sides and asking for modifications) and their signature cocktail (raspberry & champagne-- c'est magnifique!) while my dining companions enjoyed the Pasta Louis, sliders, and pasta special. Everyone raved about their dishes and they came out quickly and warm. The dessert shooters were also a huge hit and the perfect size to quench a craving for sweets! Re: reviewers who noted that the bread was hard-- it was kind of hard. It was French baguette. Based on anecdotal experience in France & the U.S. it seems like the American interpretation of baguette is much softer, so Bon Vie's is more authentic.

I've always wanted to try this place! Every time I'm at Easton and walk by, I've been so curious. Finally, the other night I went with some friends. It was delicious! It was a busy Saturday night, but that's to be expected. The place has really cool decor in side and was much bigger than I thought it would be. I got the black angus burger with fries (not very French, I know). But one of the other people got the crab macaroni n' cheese (I think is what it was). Looked really really good! There are lots more things on the menu I'd like to try. A bit pricey, but still worth the visit!

Just moved here four months ago and this is already one of our favorite restaurants. The food is very well prepared (I love the parmesan chicken!) And the service is excellent. A little pricey but well worth it. The only issue we have is that the water tastes like dirt. But I've discovered that the water all over this area tastes like that. They should install water filtration systems in all the restaurants here! Blech. However, you can get bottled water here. The French onion soup is soooo good! And the deserts should be illegal!

We came before the rush lunch traffic but the host and the waitress were already frazzled. Our main dishes took quite some time (around 40 min) to come out. We were offered a discount initially for the wait but then were given a free appetizer coupon for next time (and no bill discount ). Thankfully they just let me use the coupon this time. Service was fair; spinach dip and the salmon salad were good.

I love Bon Vie to a happy hour! It has a great selection of appetizers for $2.95 and a great selection of martinis for $5 on Wednesdays. It makes it a great after-work meeting place to decompress after a particularly stressful day.

Turkey Club for lunch with a bowl of French Onion Soup satisfied me after a stroll through Easton on a very chilly but sunny day! I never been to France so I can't gauge the authenticity of french flavors. The pomme frittes I suppose is the only thing they might be claiming to be true French style potatoes aside from the French Onion soup. Still....I'd visit again as I love the lunchtime atmosphere.

I went to Bon Vie for lunch with a friend. Neither of us had been before and we are planning on going back. The soup of the day was creamy asparagus with Roquefort cheese on top. This was amazing! It was thick and creamy and the taste was perfect. I ended up getting the Croque Madame, which is Ham and Gruyere cheese with a fried egg with toasted Brioche and Hollandaise. I ordered it without the ham. It was also served with french fries, which I thought was unusual. The dish was absolutely amazing! The mixture of the bread, egg, cheese, and sauce just melted in your mouth. My friend ordered the Quiche Lorraine and she really liked it as well. Lastly, we had a small dessert (it's literally a "shot glass" of dessert, which was a good portion and they call a "Petite Sweet") - I had the creme brulee and she had the chocolate cake with mousse and whipped cream. Although it's can be pricey, the food was outstanding, as was the service. I'd highly recommend Bon Vie and we'll be going back sometime soon...

Despite our knowledge of Bon Vie's deliciousness, we had not yet been over for a second time until recently. The first time we had visited, for my "fancy" birthday, we loved the brie fondue, served with apples, bread, and celery, and the chicken crepes. We finally were inspired to return, and we were not disappointed by the food at all. I ordered the fettucini bon vie, which was probably the lightest yet most well seasoned pasta dish I've had. They saute the pasta in olive oil with sundried tomatoes, asparagus, a small portion of what seemed like rotisserie chicken (it was so juicy and just melted onto my palate), and some bacon crumbles. I was impressed by how much the pasta and oil had absorbed these flavors, and the bleu cheese crumbles on top were a perfect complement. Greg had some fantastic artichoke and brie pork chops that came with a side of delicious mashed potatoes and a disappointingly raw sauteed vegetable blend of broccoli, carrots, and red onion. Greg took it in stride and still enjoyed his dinner. It was funny when the waitress came to offer dessert because we both had only been able to finish half of our respective entrees. I wish we had possessed the digestive stamina to consume one of their chocolatey delectables; rather, we asked her to box up the leftovers and bring us our bill. The dinner was a bit pricey, but a free coupon from Easton for $10 off a purchase of two entrees softened the blow (I can't afford not to be a bit tacky). The only other issue we encountered was that after we were seated (outside), it took 15 minutes for a server to address us. After the initial delay, she was an attentive server. I think our lack of attention initially was merely a miscommunication.

Love this place, and not just because my boyfriend and I call it ours. We love the patio for drinks, and I can't get enough of the Sauteed Black Pepper Shrimp appetizer. It's perfect with a salad, and their wedge is awesome. The service is great, the prices are reasonable, and we've never had a bad experience. We've been during their busy weekend brunch and the service is never lacking, my next goal is to try the crepes!

A couple weeks ago we went here on a spur for a nice night out after shopping at Easton. We sat on the patio over looking the water fountain and ate some of the most delicious PEI Mussels we've ever had. The sauce was so killer that we order extra bread to soak it all up and fought with the bus boy who was determined to take our bowl of sauce away from us. I ordered the swordfish which was ok, a bit tough honestly. What struck us was the service. Mostly every seat was taken on the patio and the servers were all very attentive nonetheless giving us the opportunity to relax and just enjoy our dinner. I ordered the sangria, and another one for good measure since the first was so damn tasty. I give this visit a 5 star hands down. Last night we returned, craving those mussels to find that they were taken off the menu. It happens but we were really upset. We probably wouldn't have come here if we knew. We weren't so hungry to order dinner so we picked an app and shared a salad. We got the calamari & shrimp app which was ok. It was cooked properly but the sauce was pretty bad in my opinion. It was a cream base sauce with chili peppers but the sauce was so sickly sweet that I barely ate any. The salad we ordered was the balsamic chicken salad. Before I go on I'll stop by adding that our server was horrible. She was an older lady with short wavy hair and the most bitter attitude towards us. Perhaps our spontaneity which lead us here for a late lunch despite our slightly relaxed clothing set her off? Yet other people were dressed more relaxed then us so that couldn't be right. Maybe it was our lack of hunger that had us only ordering an app and salad that pissed her off? Yet again this happens all the time. So why was it that we were treated so horribly when she was being very nice to every other table she waited on?! I guess I'll never know. But to say she was cold towards us and never came over to see how we were doing was only the beginning of why we never return here. The salad came out on two plates since we were sharing, a nice touch. The negative here was that they forgot to put the balsamic dressing on it and it took us 15 mins to get our waitress to actually stop and listen to us for a min. Then she forgot and yelled at some guy to get it for us; another 10 mins. By the time we got the dressing our chicken was cold and the lettuce was very soggy. The chicken was also very dried out and made the whole dish unappetizing. To make matters worse our waitress never came over to see if things were ok with our salad, not before and not after getting our dressing. The only time we saw her after that was a blur when she ran past us, dropping our bill, as she went to another table. No discount on our bill, no apologies, nothing. I've never been treated so cold in all my life. I've had bad service numerous times but never have I felt unwanted at a restaurant. No stars for this visit. None. I'm horrified that the owner hasn't seen to that this woman be fired let alone demoted.

Slowwww service! Larger party but 30 mins for drinks and 45 for bread. Manager came around and asked about our service...totally blamed unorganized service on our large party. Won't go back. Food was not worth the headache.

Bon Vie is probably the my least favorite of the Bravo! Entertainment Group's restaurants. They secured that decision last night. I've been to Bon Vie approximately 5 times and it seems like the food is progressively getting more and more disappointing every time. Last night, my friend and I went to dinner and sat on the patio, which was nice, but the loud cars and motorcycles driving by left something to be desired. Anyway, our server was pretty good. He was respectful and humble. I thought it was strange he asked us if we'd like to order before we had even gotten our cocktails. I think he was stalling because they took FOREVER. We both order the burger at his suggestion. They came out after a long wait, way too long for burgers. They looked so sad. A lowly burger alone on a giant plate. I had ordered cheddar on mine and I swear it was Swiss they put on it, but the waiter said it was impossible and they use white cheddar. I just didn't know what white cheddar tasted like. Well, I'm pretty sure it tastes like cheddar. But, whatever, it's just cheese. The overall sandwich had good flavor. Well seasoned beef and a buttery toasted bun. But it had too much iceberg and the meat looked to be a preformed patty. You know, the ones with the perfect sides. That bummed me out. The fries (frites) came in a paper cone propped in a crock. They looked great but tasted like an entire bottle of Lawry's was poured on them and some of them were inedible. On another occasion at Bon Vie, I had the mushroom crepes during my sad attempt at trying vegetarianism. They tasted great, but that night, made me sick. Now, they have new better sounding vegetarian options on the menu. Last night wasn't the worst meal I ever had, but I reluctantly forked over $20 (incl tip) for a sad burger, salty fries, and a good vodka soda and decent service.

For some reason, my wife loves this place. I'll admit the Roquefort Frites are pretty tasty but nearly everything else is pretty average and can be had almost anywhere else. The kicker is we've been here at least 4 times and each time our experience has been worse than the time before. Our first visit was fine. My wife actually preferred this restaurant to La Chatelaine in Upper Arlington. Then we came once with our son who was about 18 months at the time and were hustled through our meal as quickly as possible. Our third visit was notable for the table bread arriving during our meal rather than with our drinks. Most recently we were seated outside and as the evening turned cool we asked that a heater positioned next to our table be turned on. Our waiter informed us that it was broken and he could turn it on but "didn't want to blow people up." Ha ha, very funny. Rather than leaving a broken piece of equipment out for your customers, why not fix the @#$% thing? It seems with each visit, the portions get smaller, too. The Rouquefort Frites are less and less Roquefort and more and more just plain old french fries each time. If it wasn't for my wife, I wouldn't be spending our money here.

Perhaps we just got a harried server, perhaps it was because it was cold and we were tired and a bit lost with this having been our first time at Easton..........or maybe it really wasn't all that! We were seated and had a nice table, but as stated before - our server seemed to be either harried or just not wanting to deal much with us. And to top it off, I noticed she took the order of another table who was seated after us before us. I take notice of these things!!! Anyway, hubs had a Reuben - over priced and under whelming. I had the quiche Lorraine and a mimosa. Let me rephrase that - I had something that they charged me $6.45 for that was a bit fizzy. The quiche wasn't too bad and the bread and butter they served was rather nice ( I so need to join carbs annon!) But we will not be eating here again.

I ate here with my toddler a few months ago. Everything started great, the food was good and they were very attentive to helping me select a meal that would not trigger my child's allergies. Unfortunately, they brought out the wrong meal for my child (okay, people make mistakes and it was still something she could eat). The server offered to have the correct meal made, but I was too short on time so I said no thanks. I had also told the server when we were first seated that I did not have a lot of time since we parked at a meter, so I asked for the check early. I paid, left about a 20% tip (even though there was no discount or removal of the charge for the wrong order) and she collected the receipt "to finish processing" while we were still eating! I felt as though she was checking to see if we still left her a tip after the mistake she made. I'm pretty tolerant, but having a server take a tip receipt while I'm still eating is a major pet peeve.

I want to say that their service was wonderful! The server was attentive and took care of all of our needs during our meal. The manage even stopped by twice to pick up dirty plates and to check up, which it is rare to find a good manager sometimes! As for the food, it was not what I hoped for. For restaurant week, they didn't have a special menu, just took some of their normal menu items and put them on the "special list". Me and my 4 girlfriends went and two of us ordered the exact same thing, yet got two TOTALLY different entrees. Mine tasted awful and hers was obviously reheated, but her's still tasted great! The appearance of all of our dishes was sloppy and needed some improvement. One girl ordered the wasabi-crusted salmon, which was delicious, but the sides were barely there- so she left hungry. GOOD NOTE: the cocktails were definitely worth a visit to the bar at least because they were cold, light, and refreshing (and poured generously I might add). Overall, I won't go back only because of the poor food, not the poor service.

Just ate here again and am removing a star. The service was quite lackluster for a restaurant in this price range. While the starters came relatively quickly, the mains took forever. I realize it takes time for preparation but the food wasn't exactly piping hot when it came. More like lukewarm. The only positive was the French onion soup, which was rich and delicious. Again beer selection was lackluster. Beer is the new wine people! Keep up. :) Bon Vie, you gotta do better for what you charge!

It had been several years since I had been to Bon Vie. The place just never did it for me. During a recent visit to Easton, a group of us decided to give it another go. Sadly, after this visit it will probably be years before I make another return trip. The food itself was the biggest disappointment. I had the Pasta Louie, which sounded delicious so another friend ordered it as well. The dish seemed too salty to me. When I was almost finished I looked at my friend's plate and realized my dish was missing tomatoes. Whoops. The dish was definitely overpriced considering its quantity and quality. To top off the experience, the service left something to be desired. In my opinion, there are plenty of better restaurants just a hop, skip and jump away.

To classify Bon Vie as a "French" restaurant is not correct. It's American with light French accents. On my last visit I even noticed a pasta dish that had a similar description to the Pasta Brio at their sister restaurant on the other side of the center. That does not take away from the fact that it's a great restaurant though. The patio is perfect on a nice summer day to enjoy several glasses of wine and people watch. On my visit yesterday, I had the Pasta Pistou which was very good. You can't go wrong with anything that has goat cheese. My partner had the chilled crab & shrimp salad and also liked it. We always make it a point to get the cheese board either as an appetizer or as a desert. It's great. Service is good and they want you to sit and take in the atmosphere and enjoy yourself. It is definitely one of my favorite restaurants at Easton.

First of all, to classify the food at Bon Vie as French ought to be criminal. Several other reviewers have put that more eloquently so I'll leave it there but no-- just no. Not French. And not very good either. I'm a fan of Brio so I had high hopes for Bon Vie but everything that came out to the table was soggy, overcooked, undercooked or bland. It was terrible. Even dessert couldn't save the meal, and for me, that's saying something. Do yourself a favor if you're looking for a place at Easton and walk right on past. You have much better options around every corner.

It's ok for what it is I guess. The problem is that this place tries to play itself off as something more than any other national chain restaurant. Think of it as Champp's adding a French section to their menu. I agree with one of the other reviewers about the salad. If you're going to attempt to be remotely creative, at least use something besides iceberg lettuce and creamy Parmesan in your salad. I had the crabcakes with roasted vegetables and it was pretty good. Another had the special, trout which tasted good as well. Tough place to review.

I heart the happy hour @ Bon vie! A great selection of appetizers for 2.95, my fav was the seared ahi tuna :-) Also they have a selection of wine flights that include a red, white or sparkling white! I loved the decor near the bar and and our server was super nice.

I'm definitely a fan of great service and delicious food ;) Columbus continued to surprise me with so many places that were able to execute this, and Bon Vie you are on my A list ;) First the host was bright cheerful and very welcoming, first impressions are important and from there my expectations were high ;) They took care of our coats ;) and I originally had a white napkin...but once I sat down, the host told me that he will go ahead and change my white napkin to a black one! I was confused for awhile since no one has ever done that for me before, but my boyfriend told me its because I was wearing black!! Whhhhaaaat!! I've never heard of that! been to several/lots of places in Chicago, and never had that before. I was so pleased I kept bringing that up in our conversations throughout lunch. Now to the food ;) I got the lobster bisque...wonderful ;) Creamy, full of flavor and just delicious. I then did the half salad half pasta deal. VERY good salad (i forgot what it was called) but by the time the pasta came...I was pretty full. Pasta was also amazing...again forgot what its called... I guess my review for this place is really dedicated to their service. I got up to use the restroom and I had a gentlemen that looked like the manager to escort me to where the restroom was. We had our food packed up and I left the restaurant a happy, pleased person. The little things may weigh heavier than the bigger things. This is what I experienced here ;) We definitely need more places like this in Chicago.

I was with some colleagues in Columbus (staying in Easton area) for only one night, we've been traversing the Midwest so we weren't feeling overly adventurous and decided to eat somewhere in Easton as it was a very built up, cosmopolitan area. The hotel staff was not overly helpful in where to go, so we arbitrarily picked Bon Vie as we liked a lot of what the menu had to offer. The atmosphere was really great with a nice inside and substantial outdoor patio seating. Our server for the evening was great! He was overly accommodating to our individual requests for drinks and meals. I started off with the Strawberry Basil Limonata cocktail...super tasty but didn't pack too much of a punch with vodka. I began my meal with the Bon Vie Salad which consisted of greens, bacon, roqoufert (sp?) cheese, and vinagarette. It was great and I ate every last leaf and it left me positive for my actual entree. I ordered the Filet & Crab Cake (I know, a New Englander ordering a crab cake in Ohio...that was likely my own fault). The presentation was nice, and I first stuck my fork in the crab cake...and it instantly fell apart. It was about two thirds breading and a third actual crab. Highly dissapointing. I cut into my filet which I ordered medium, and it was clearly grey/well done on the inside. It was tasty and tender still...but still well done. The crispy potatoes were decent as well. My colleauges got the Crab Mac N Cheese and had a decent amt of crab, but wasn't anything to write home about. The other got the Tournedos (sp?) and Shrimp...and the shrimp was VERY small...however she did enjoy the meal. Overall it's not a place I'd die to go back to again. Service was great, food generally tasty, and a good option if you're in Easton and want to get a solid meal in.

Disgusting. Our meal began with an Iceberg lettuce salad topped with canned Parmesan cheese. Then came the steak frites. No frites - just really stiff flavorless potatoes. Someone didn't put enough luke warm microwaved water in the instant flakes. Blech. The atmosphere is nice and perfect patio for people watching. Enjoy a glass of wine and warm bread but save your wallet for better food... Like at mcdonalds next door.

My knowledge of French food is La Madeleine, so I can't vouch for whether it is really French. I did think it was interesting that they had hard boiled eggs with salt on the bar. I ordered chicken crepes, which was wonderful. I would recommend that dish. However, one of my fellow diners did not recommend the burger and said that the fries are greasy. It is not very vegetarian friendly (add veggies here, take meat off of this type of ordering). Overally, based on the crepes, I give it high marks, but I have to lower it a bit because the other diners were not happy. Service was great.

I can't say too much about this place because I have only ordered the parmesan crusted chicken (enough for 2 meals, so I although pricey, worth it in my books), but i guess it says something if i always go back for it. I've only been for carryout, but the place looks nice inside. Tonite I ordered it again and it didn't have the capers and lemons which usually make the dish for me. I politely called back, giving them the benefit of the doubt before i tore them on yelp, and the manager was incredibly nice and apologetic. Asked if she send me a gift card to make up for it. Classy place for classy people.

Enjoying an evening out at Easton I decided to relax and enjoy outside dining. I chose Bon Vie. I wanted something lite and the waiter recommended the Salmon. It was delicious! The sauce was very smooth and tasteful. Great price for a quality dish. Definitely a great decision.

I went with a friend for dinner here while in Columbus this past week for a job interview. I totally loved it, I had the crab stuffed tilapia and it was the best piece of tilapia I have ever eaten. I really enjoyed the ambiance of the outdoor seating and weather was perfect for sitting outside. I need to add that this was a change of pace for what I am accustomed to since I am from a small town that is more homestyle sit down diner types. If I come to Columbus again, I will be eating there without any hesitation.

Taste: 3 Value: 3 Service: 4 I came here around 9pm for dinner, and the place was almost completely empty. There was no one there to greet me when I walked in, and I had to stand there waiting for nearly half a minute before someone showed up. Big, big no-no. I asked her how her night was going, and she something along the lines of, "Well I'm still at work." Not sure if she wasn't happy to be there or was just making a joke. 1. Sauteed Black Pepper Shrimp (Served with a spicy Creole sauce and toasted bread for dipping 12.50) - yummy. the sauce had a nice kick to it, the shrimp was delicious, and the bread was very well toasted. 2. Crab Stuffed Tilapia (Baked with Jumbo Lump crab, Hollandaise sauce and seasonal vegetables 17.95) - disappointing. The tilapia was cooked pretty well, nice and soft, but the crab didn't taste that great. The veggies were all right, and the Hollandaise sauce didn't save the dish. I wanted to get one of their fish with crab and pineapple salsa, but unfortunately they ran out. Service was spot-on, except I had to wait much longer than necessary for my check and for him to pick it up.

I went to lunch with a party of four total. Bon Vie Bistro has a casual atmosphere yet decent ambiance, looking like a decent spot for a date and for groups. The food was deemed good to excellent by everyone at lunch, but one person was brought a completely incorrect order, which mortified our waiter. Given that this was my first time there, I'm prepared to write the enthusiastic yet somewhat error-prone service off as an aberration. My parmesian crusted chicken was delicious, and the presentation of the food was nice. Portions are decent; I left feeling full yet not unpleasantly so. I highly recommend trying out the Roquefort frites, which were absolutely mouth-watering. If the service is better the next time I visit, I could easily see bumping Bon Vie Bistro up another star. As it is, I rate it at a solid three stars. EDIT: Went back, and service was better despite being busy, so as promised, bumping my review up a star.

Bon vie quality of services has deteriorated over the last couple of years. It used to be a great restaurant that we liked a lot, but not as much recently. There a couple of incidents that happened that I don't want to get into too much details, but net net the orders came wrong. On one occasion the staff kept arguing with us that it was what we ordered to the point that we gave up On another the one order came so late that the rest of our party were finished by the time they got us the right order, and let me say that that order was for a 2 year old! I understand that these things happen, but what differentiate restaurants is how it gets handled by the staff. Definitely not by arguing with us, or getting so late and not even offer to comp it.

Nope! I went there with a friend, who recommended the place. We sat outside. It started to get cold so we asked for the heaters to be turned on. None of the waitstaff knew how to turn them on. We had to wait 15-20 minutes for the manager to turn on the heaters. The service was not good. There were multiple issues with the service, including length of time to be served, terrible table service (not remembering to whom meals were to be served, not setting the table, having to ask for salt and pepper after meal served, making us move plates around so that other plates could fit..amateurish). I ordered the steak frites, medium, with a side of green beans. The frites and beans were cold and the steak was well done, small and was NOT worth a $22 steak. I could have gotten that cut for $5 at Walmart. I sent it back and ordred the Lobster Bisque, which was also weak. I will NEVER eat there again.

Yum! We had brunch here and their portions are HUGE! But yummy nonetheless. I had the Spicy Chirozo Omelette and it was a big serving of food - I could not finish it all and it was served with 4 slices of Brioche toast...Goodness..it was alot of food. They also serve bistro bites for $2.95 on weekday happy hours.. :)

No. Just take my word for it. If you've had a meal with midly distinguishable flavours at a half decent place in the past, this place is an absolute no no. It is not French. It is not a steak house. Think Arbys trying to sell englidh food. It is a large conglomeration of tacky people under a greenish roof and abrasive waitresses. Abrasive not because they want to be, but because they just are. So, no.

This is Brio's sister restaurant, whereas Brio is Tuscan-Italian...this place is 'French'. I've given it multiple tries and each time, my feeling is the same. The restaurant is OK. Again, if you've read my reviews, I'm a big salad person. Mostly because if you take the best restaurants in the country and order their salads, you know that a good salad is hard to find and an awesome salad is even harder. I order the salads whenever I come here and they are acceptable. Fresh, not wilted greens don the plates, and not too much dressing either with nice toppings like bleu cheese or walnuts. I've seen my friends order the entrees and from the looks of them, the steak has been pretty good and the meaty entrees are usually healthy portions. The most unique thing about Bon Vie is their hot french bread that comes clothed in a cute white bag. It is good. The best part about this place is the ambiance. This place accommodates big and small groups. With private area seating, bar seating (nice bar), booth seating, and table seating. And anytime a place has both indoor and outdoor seating with decent food, drinks, and a great location, you got to give it a try over and over again because you just want to be out!

What a great place for a date. Food is great, ambiance is great. Tip: If you're going to eat here, do NOT look at prices. Just get what you want. I ended up spending close to $80 for dinner. As a cheap Asian man, that is a lot. But there were two things that made it okay: 1) I was on vacation. 2) I was on vacation. When you're on vacation, you do what you want. You spend your hard-earned dollars that you got from sitting in front of a computer. The French onion soup was pretty good, 4/5. The lady ordered some concoction with champagne and berries - delicious (5/5). The crepes were to die for (6/5!!). The fettuccine was pretty good (3.5/5). Dessert - to die for. The creme brulee...heavenly(6/5)! Nice solid crust, delicious filling - not too sweet, not too heavy. Chocolate cake was a bit heavy/sweet for me, but complimented with the French press coffee, delicious (4/5). The red velvet was very average (3/5, cannot be compared with Susie Cakes or Sprinkles cupcakes). Service was good. Again, great place for a date. Women seem to be happier when the ambiance is upscale, modern, clean, home-y. Easton is a beautiful little place, a lot like Santana Row in San Jose or the Americana in Glendale. An added bonus - AMC is right next door. Perfect place for dinner and movie. Discounting the price, 5/5. Well worth every dollar.

Ryan -- the manager -- is so great! We bring clients in here all the time, and the staff is always so quick to accommodate even our largest groups. The service is always wonderful and the food amazing. I love bringing clients from out of town to Bon Vie because they are always in awe over how beautiful the restaurant and Easton are; nobody expects to find places this good in Columbus!

Not your typical "mall" restaurant. Had lunch here with a lovely Sketchbook Pinot Noir. The balsamic chopped chicken salad and tomato flatbread are a perfect combination for lunch. To top everything off have a lovely "tiny" dessert sampler and a cappuccino. Service by Amy is preferred.

Went there on a Sunday evening with friends. Waitress was not as well versed with the menu as she should have been. Questions were met with "I don't know". One of my friends asked for a particular dish and she said "yes, we have that" then she came back about 5 minutes later and said "oh, they sold the last one 10 minutes ago". There is something wrong with this place and I don't think I would recommend it or return

I guess I want to know what's French about this restaurant. It's not the appetizers, or all the pastas, or the seafood entrees, or the burgers and sandwiches (unless you count the "french onion burger" (just kidding). Actually, this category has Chicken Cordon Bleu, which is one more dish than any other category. Ditto for the "Steaks and Chops" part of the menu and as for the soup, well they do have "French Onion Soup" on the menu. Actually, this place is no more French than Wendy's (french fries). It may be a good enough place to eat but it's not French. If you want to see what a French menu looks like, click here: danielnyc.com/daniel.htm…

I have been to Bon Vie a number of times from attending the Ohio State University in my undergraduate years to moving back to Dayton for my husband's job. In the beginning, I was not too fond of Bon Vie, mainly its prices, as a poor college student, and its snooty waiters. The food six(?) years ago was decent and portion size was large, but nothing special. When I had my eldest daughter, as a toddler, sit at Bon Vie for brunch with my sister later on, it was semi-enjoyable. At that time, I found the food a little too rich for my tastes. I do not know if my taste buds were changing due to getting older by a couple years, pregnancy, or the food changing on the menu, but my sister and daughter seemed to enjoy it. My daughter especially loved the french fries...of course. I finally came back to Ohio, after being in New Mexico for three years, and decided to try Bon Vie with my husband for our anniversary. We had a gift card to the franchise which included Brio, Bravo, and Bon Vie, but we have had horrible food and service at both Brio and Bravo, so Bon Vie was our last option (coincidentally, the gift card was given to us because our last dining experience at Brio was so disgusting and insulting). We simply hoped for the best and I made reservations as well as let them know it was our anniversary we were celebrating. We were pleasantly surprised! The food was absolutely delicious. We both started the evening off with a flight of their sparkling wines or champagnes (I cannot remember which) and they tasted delicious, of course. We also ordered a cheeseboard which came with four different cheeses, bread, pecans, and apples, which complimented the alcohol perfectly. For our main courses, my husband received the crab stuffed tilapia and I consumed the veal oscar. Wow, did these dishes taste extraordinary. I admit, it could have been the effects of the alcohol, but I was blown away at the way all the flavours melded together masterfully without overwhelming anything. Most importantly, for me, the entrees did not taste or feel too rich and I did not feel like was going to vomit after eating it; great sign. After our indulgent entrees, we indulged ourselves some more with a shared vanilla bean creme brulee, which I could have eaten by myself! It was creamy and had the right texture, consistency and sweetness, just right; yummy. Believe me, we have had some pretty awful creme brulee in the past. Last, we consumed more alcohol: my husband, Sambucca and coffee, and a Sandeman's Port for me. The best part of the experience was the service we received. First off, we were able to use our gift card from the Brio manager. Second, because it was our anniversary, we received a free appetizer, the cheeseboard, and a sweet, handwritten card from the manager at Bon Vie wishing us a happy anniversary. Most importantly, our waitress was awesome. She was knowledgeable, gave great recommendations, nice, spunky, considerate, and NOT snooty. I get so sick of pretentious waiters and I do not understand why they think acting so will get them a good tip! We absolutely loved our waitress who actually bikes around Yellow Springs close to where we live and she made our dining experience the best we have ever had. Therefore, the combination of great awesome service (this time), alcohol, and great food...as well as free food, has led me to believe that Bon Vie is well worth it and I definitely recommend a visit and will return before moving again.

I have never had a bad meal here. I've had lunch, dinner and brunch here several times and enjoyed every dish. I would eat here ever day if I could. The service is always fast and attentive without being over bearing.

I finally decided to review Bon Vie after my third visit. The first time I went, it was a nice summer day and I was lured by the lovely ambiance of the outside patio. However, I was utterly disappointed by their food. We ordered their fondue, fries and some other forgettable dish. Although the baguette they offered was very good, I didn't think I was going to be back anytime soon. About a year later, I went to Bon Vie to meet a friend of mine for dinner. Although I was skeptical, she LOVES it so I decided to give it another try. I had the boursin stuffed chicken breast and it was so fabulous, I was totally taken back. The second time around, however, there were only two tables including ours but the service was lacking. Our drinks weren't refilled and the waitress seemed completely out of it. After we left, I checked my receipt and realized that she didn't even charge me for the two glasses of wine I had. Well, after that meal, I wanted to return to Bon Vie with my husband, who has been there on separate occasions and have been very disappointed by it in the past. So, yesterday, when we happened to be in Easton, we decided to check it out for lunch. They had a brunch menu available during the weekends and although it wasn't a huge menu, they offered traditional breakfast fare such as French Toast, Eggs Benedict and Steak and Eggs. They also had other twists on brunch food such as different types of crepes and croque madames. Finally, they offered sandwiches and pastas and salads, so there was quite a variety of options to choose from. My husband opted for the Spicy Chorizo Scramble, which was scrambled eggs and chorizo served over a bed of potatoes, peppers, onions and Fontina cheese. There was also a large heaping serving of cilantro, which he loved. The potatoes and the vegetables were all cooked to perfection and the eggs were also cooked and seasoned well. The only thing that he didn't like about the dish was the pungent Fontina cheese. I opted for their Lunch sized Pasta Pistou (Penne with haricots verts, grilled chicken breasts, tomatoes, goat cheese and walnuts with pesto) with their wedge salad. Although the pasta was lunch portioned, it was ample enough and seriously, you can't go wrong with pesto and goat cheese. And, I really need to give the staff recognition for their superb service yesterday. We were greeted by the hostess annd seated with a smile. The waiter was very attentive without being annoying and the manager came over to make sure the meal was ok. Then, when I was heading over to the bathroom after my meal, the manager walked over before me and held the door open for me. I was thoroughly impressed by their over the top service! The bill came out to about $30 sans tip but it was well worth every penny.

A fancy bistro with not so trendy decorations, Bon Vie offers reasonably priced French-American plates. Menus change from time to time. The last time I was inside Bon Vie was with a friend during his visit to Columbus. The bread despite being toasty warm when it arrived was actually quite bland; I've definitely had better sourdough bread, and the butter was your typical Land O' Lakes butter, imo. I had (or thought I had) ordered the salmon entree; the server misheard me and I ended up cutting away steak fifteen minutes later. The steak was nothing to brag about, but the Gouda potatoes sure were yummy! It was perfectly seasoned and served with the right amount of sauce. He had the crab cake and, personally, I thought it was one of the best crab cakes I've had in a while. The roasted veggies were tasty as well. Bon Vie is by no means cheap, but it definitely is worth it for special occasions. In fact, don't be too surprised if you see a huge prom group inside the restaurant each year around Spring time. Service is a little slow at times (and depending on what you order) so be prepared for brunch/lunch/dinner at a relaxed place.

Went here for a business lunch. It was OK but nothing spectacular. Had the tuna nicoise salad and the tuna tasted pre-cooked in cubes. A little disappointed about that. Clients didn't complain about the food and looked pretty good. Atmosphere is actually very nice in the Easton area inside an upscale mall area.

Now that spring is here everyone wants to enjoy outdoor dining! Friday co-workers and I split early to take in the great weather at Bon Vie. There outdoor dining area is fantastic. There is a great bar to enjoy afternoon cocktails. The food was delicious. I had the Salmon BLT Salad that was just the right size, and the salmon was grilled perfectly. I also enjoyed an Italian Lemonade (one gave me a slight buzz). Another plus, the server didn't rush us! My lunch bill: $28.
