I was definitely intrigued with the concept. The idea and concept of a Korean fast food Joint is probably enough to get ppl in the door but the execution fell way short. Like the other reviews suggest it's basically a Chipotle with slight Korean or Asian influenced variances. I went with a bowl and they were very generous with the portions EXCEPT the protein. It was fairly tasty just short of being balanced with enough protein. Do not bother with the side of kimchi. I was hopeful and although just an extra dollar, it was easily the worst kimchi I've ever had. The place itself was quite clean and modern. The staff was extremely helpful and quick.

We'll done healthy alternative to Chipotle. Gluten free is a plus. Yum yum sauce was good but watch out for spicy sauce unless you know what you're in for.

I love both bi bim bop and Chipotle so I expected deliciousness and got a disappointing combo. I can see why they are compared, however the originals are much better in food quality. If you want bi bim bop there is a Korean restaurant in the same shopping strip and if you want chipotle there is one a street over on Bethel. The dinning room is clean and pretty while the service is slow.I got a rice bowl and after they added my chosen veggies the bowl was only a little over half way full. I would have liked to have received a full bowl without having to ask for double servings. I liked the variety of fresh vegetables and the tastey hot sauce.

I really enjoyed this concept - the food was so good, I went back for a second bowl during my visit.

Great food! The tofu is exactly the way I like my tofu -- small, crisp cubes. Great for vegans and vegetarians. The sriracha sauce is very spicy! Quick service and a nice clean dining area. Great prices.

This was one of our favorite places to get a quick and healthy meal, but lately the food quality has gone downhill. Today my spicy chicken was dry, the potatoes soft and mushy, and the purple rice way overcooked. Plus, the servers lately have been skimpier on the portions. I really hope that they put in some quality control measures before we strike yet another local restaurant off our list.

this place has the similar style as piada but with asian food: rice, beans, eggs, veggies, etc. It is my first time here but will come again because of good atmosphere.

Good food. Fair price. It's Korean chipotle :) The staff was very friendly for a fast food place.

This place is similar to Chipotle or Piada. I really liked the environment and the price was really affordable!

First time going to this chain restaurant. I like this set up. If you are super hungry, this is the place to go. You get your food quicker than a sit down place. The food is quite yummy. The restaurant is very clean, and the service is very friendly. I just wish they had other proteins than just tofu for vegans/vegetarians!

Still trying to figure this out....went for an early dinner - 4ish and am always happy to go to a fast casual healthy dining option. I don't mind the Chipotle concept - went during an off time - so it wasn't busy. I told them it was my first time and they just said ok. No explanation or suggestions...just ok. The menu is not difficult but it is not as extensive as I expected. I got a bowl - with chicken - I asked how spicy the spicy chicken one - no one offered me a taste. I got purple rice, sprouts, chicken, cucumber, daikon, corn, carrots and cheese.....why cheese - this made no sense to me?? I got it out of habit from other places...but it makes no sense. No one told me I could get sauces from a sauce bar...so I defaulted to teriaki since no explanation was offered. Luckily they did not put much on - so I was able to sample the others after I sat down. Was it good - yes...but still a little disappointing. It was tepid at best. The majority of the ingredients are cold - the few that aren't are luke warm if that...I kinda felt like I was eating leftovers from yesterday and was too lazy to nuke them. Unless its a salad I like my food hot. I also wish there were more veggie options. Edamame ( as a topping), mushrooms, peapods...anything really....if you are going to let me pick what goes in a bowl give me some choices. I feel like I would order the same thing every time I came here. The benefit of these types of places is that I could eat here mutiple times a week and get a completely different meal. The sauces are good- there are 4 - two taste the same. They need more variety with those as well. Having said all this what I had was good - cold - but good. I will go back for sure and try again. Maybe my expectation of the temperature isnt right and I will ask more questions during my next visit.

I am pretty impressed by Korean Chipotle. I got a bowl with white rice, beans, sprouts, potatoes (seemed like it would be weird but they actually fit well), cucumbers, carrots, and egg shreds. I also got the yum yum sauce, which has a cool, Asian-ranch taste almost. That paired well with the Siracha (from the bottle, not their house hot Siracha). I would like to see them add a few more ingredients, like shrimp, soy sauce, and bamboo shoots, even if they aren't authentic to the Korean dish. Also, I have never seen anyone order a wrap so it doesn't seem like an appealing choice. I definitely plan on coming to Bibibop every month or so when I'm in the mood.

  • Allison A.

When looking at the menu online, I felt it didn't have alot of choices and that the choices they did have didn't go well together. I was really wrong, I can see myself having cravings for this place. Hard to pull out of if you're going left when leaving because everyone is pulling in!

    (5)
  • Leon K.

Absolutely addicting. And very healthy (with the exception of the mayo laden yum yum sauce). I do not understand those that have critically reviewed Bibibop because it is not what they thought it would be. Evaluate it on WHAT it is regardless of your stubborn stereotypes. What Bibibop is: Korean inspired food Americanized for a fast casual experience at a great price.

At first I didn't think Bibbidi Bobbidi was that appealing but after I tried it, I'm in love with food.

Love this place! Really neat atmosphere. The staff were really nice and helpful when hearing it was our first visit. I had the spicy chicken bowl with purple rice, sprouts, and all the veggies/toppings and spicy sriracha sauce. It is so fresh and unique! I love they have all their sauces available by the drink station. Move over Chipotle!

  • Kara M.

Is this real Korean..nope but is it an awesome chipotle version of korean food? Yep yep yep. i got the chicken rice bowl with all the toppings and the korean sauce with kimchi and it was so good. everything was so fresh and flavorful, if it were closer I might fall into eating this multiple times per week

I love bibimbap and have been eating the original Korean dish since I was in grade school. Bibibop caught my attention from the bright orange sign and I noticed the restaurant opening up all over Columbus. We decided to try it for lunch too see if it was as good as people have said. The restaurant at this location was clean and very bright. Ordering is very simple. I had the spicy chicken, rice, black beans, daikon, carrots, spicy sriracha and yum yum sauce. The bowl was eh, and kinda of bland. Nothing stood out from the bowl. I confess the black beans threw off the bowl from any Asian taste too more of a burrito bowl from Chipotle. This restaurant is a cheap imitation of the actual dish. It appears that the company wasn't sure what kind of food they wanted to serve, so they just picked the easy route. I would recommend going to any of the authentic Asian restaurants in that area.

    (2)
  • Amber S.

I describe this to people as the Asian version of Chipotle because you stand in line, tell the person how you want it served (bowl, salad or roll), pick your rice, protein, veggies and sauce. I usually pick the bowl and try to only eat half so I have a second meal from it. At the drink station you can get extra helpings of the sauce to put on your dish or take home with you.

  • Poppy I.

First time here and were very pleased with the set-up and fresh ingredients that was provided ... Love the sauce and kimchi that finished my dish off with a happy belly!!

  • Jackie H.

Very similar to Chipotle, Piada, Pizza Cucinova, etc....go down the assembly line and voila, you get your food! Bibibop is pretty good, but some of their toppings just don't scream Asian to me. I feel like they could do better in the toppings and base department. I'd get rid of about 50% of the toppings and get better ones...add bean sprouts, mushrooms, kimchee should be an option to go in the bowl rather than an add on like guac is at Chipotle. Anyway, I did enjoy my bowl for what it was. I like that they have dispensers so you can get more sauce if you'd like. I like a lot of sauce, so it's nice that they give you the option for more. Then you can also try the other sauces! I will come back from time to time for a quick and relatively inexpensive meal.

I soo wish I loved this place. But after two tries .. I Just can't do it. In all fairness, I'm gluten free and their choices are WAY limited for us GF folks. But here's the kicker... They advertise on their website that they have GF options. Truth is... It's "option" without the "s". We really only have one sauce we can eat.. And it's not one that I ever care to try again. I'm sure all the non-GF people are lovin them some BIBI-BOP. And I'm happy for y'all. But I'm going to have to take my GF pity party elsewhere.

This was my first time at Bibibop, I thought I would like it because my last try of Korean food was at my neighbor's graduation party and I liked it then but now I know the huge difference why my stomach digested that meal better than this one. That meal was all homemade at the graduation party while this one was more starchy as Shea put it. I literally thought the guy in front of me was a yelper because he was helping me order everything and he didn't even work there. I didn't mind it since I wanted to try something new and I sort of needed the help. I think the purple rice was good but everything else like the protein I picked which was chicken didn't settle in my body well. Then I added bean sprouts, potatoes, eggs, cucumbers and teriyaki sauce to my bowl, it still didn't help. I guess I just have to sleep it off tonight, I had a rough night anyways so nothing has been settling well all day. Just as I put in my last place that I reviewed, I think it's always good to experience something new that you haven't had before. Today was a good experience to just try the food and also experience a positive restaurant environment.:)

  • Rebecca L.

Bibibop itself deserves 5 stars, this location-4-only because without fail EVERYTIME ive ordered pick up its not ready, and my order is still on the printer somewhere-even though I always order well over an hour in advance. I stopped ordering ahead because of it-kind of pointless. but I LOVE this place. I mean I could eat it every day of my life its that good. fresh veggies-and do yourself a favor-GET THE PURPLE rice . so yum. Im not a vegetarian but will typically order it with just the veggies and extra purple rice because the combo of their fresh veggies and rice are delish enough without chicken, etc. I do think they could add things to their topppings selections as its a bit limited-but I still am happy when I order.

  • Tan N.

If you've ever had actual bim bim bop, this is a poor, in fact, grotesque bastardization. The options don't even go together and the flavors are blah. I gave it a shot--having beans with my forbidden rice--and it was just gross. There was no sauce and it was boring when I'm sure they thought they were being exciting. Plus, I can't stand a place that spells the word wrong and assumes their clientele doesn't care. Obviously the place isn't authentic, but spelling bibibop as such instead of bim bim bop is like taking a letter out of the word "Hot Dog" -- is "Ho Dog" the same thing? Puh-lease. If you really want to be healthy, go make yourself a good meal at home for a fraction of the price. Update: OMG, I've heard this place is expanding in Columbus! Why oh why??

    (1)
  • Brian F.

I went for the grand opening, and it was fantastic. The employees are super friendly, and, although there was a long line, it went quite quickly. Finding the right combination is important. I had the purple rice at the other location and found it a bit overpowering. I went with the white rice this time...with black beans, spicy chicken, and a excellent combo of teriyaki and spicy sriracha sauce. It was extremely good! This Bibibop is brand new, and it looks to have more seating than the Grandview location. I will come back again and again!

    (5)
  • Vin R.

It's another twist on the Chipotle theme similar to Piada and Fusian. How your dish tastes and how healthy it is depends on your choices (obviously.) Having been to the first location in Grandview, this outpost seems to be a more fully realized version of the concept. The restaurant is clean and airy and the staff is nice and super enthusiastic. As some folks have commented, the restaurant doesn't serve true Korean Bibimbap, but it doesn't really claim to be doing so, either. If you want a more authentic Korean dining experience head over to Restaurant Silla across the parking lot near the post office. Top tip--don't forget to try the sauces--the one (appropriately) called Yum Yum Sauce is not to be missed!

  • Jared S.

It is Korean food that has been a little americanized (the meat will be a little salty for natives and the bean sprout is fried) but overall tastes good

  • Crystal L.

I gave this place a second chance at the suggestion of a few friends (though I'm starting to think they just don't like me). I hate to say that I was still disappointed- a great idea doesn't = great food... Colorful mush upsets my stomach- beautiful set up though- and worth a try... But once is enough!

    (2)
  • Vicky T.

Chipotle concept Korean food. Get purple rather than the other rice option! That is what draws me back every time. Unless you like your food over saucy I suggest you moderate the amount of sauce you want. Large portion (I eat more than most guys I know), don't be deceived it will hit you suddenly if you finish your entire bowl.

    Always fast, fresh and friendly!

  • Bill D.

Bibibop has nice wide selection of fresh ingredients with a broad spectrum of flavors ranging from mild to spicy, and sweet to tangy. Finding a favorite combination of ingredients is something worth repeat visits. One negative issue: The kimchi was not fermented, and therefore had crispy cabbage, so not close to authentic.

    (4)
  • Cathi H.

Tried it again. Not may favorite. Hard to pin point but it seems the combinations are weird to me. This time I got the salad as a base which was better than just mushy rice. Not lovin the sauces either. Price is good for how much they give you. So that's something!

  • Lin H.

this location is much prettier structurally than the w. 5th ave location! food was delicious all the same. in fact to I had so much food it made three meals! only downfall was that i had to wait for the potatoes (very busy) and some were still crunchy/raw in my rice bowl. this time around i had purple and white rice with tofu and everything but black beans and cucumbers. very tasty!

  • Carrie L.

I can honestly come back to Bibibop for lunch several times a week if I live here. The serving style is exactly like chipotle (which I love!). My friend showed me several other restaurants that are similar and Bibibop stood out to me. The food is fresh and healthy. The purple rice, which is never available anywhere unless you go to a Korean restaurant, is now here for you. There's a variety of meat/tofu and toppings (eggs, radish, cucumber, corn, etc.). You also get to add the spicy sauce to your liking on their condiment table. The portion is too much for lunch, which leaves me enough food for a late snack or early dinner. I love it, especially when I'm craving for a healthy lunch!

    (4)
  • Mika T.

Not authentic Korean food whatsoever, which is totally fine with me since they don't claim to be, but they use slight influences throughout the menu. The ingredients are pretty Americanized to appeal to the majority and it seems to be working for them because they seem busy. Pros: Healthy (vegetables aren't heavily seasoned or salted, just served fresh for the most part), quick, great interior, cheap, and very friendly staff. Cons: Not enough veggies given, the sauces are a bit uninspired, and the kimchee is pretty bad. Overall for the price and the healthiness Bibibop offers, I'm a happy customer and will keep coming back!

This is definitely a place using the 'Chipotle' business model, which works well enough here. I chose the Salad in a bowl option, with regular ( non-spicy) chicken and yum-yum sauce as the dressing. My buddy chose the 'burrito/wrap' version with the spicy chicken for his meal. Overall, it was pretty decent. It wasn't spectacular, but decent. The Miso soup I ordered, however, was quite bland and pretty warm but not 'soup-hot' as it should be. Also, the seating arrangements/ dining room design are a bit odd. I think this may have contributed to the fact that many tables for larger parties were taken up by individuals, thus leaving many in groups to sit at the 'individual' seats at the stool and bar sections ( yes, I'm referring specifically to the lady working on her laptop while sitting alone at the largest table in the place-big and round, meant for five-while there were plenty of just-as-comfortable spots for individuals that would've been a more considerate option for her). All in all, I would return, but would try a few other choices before I decide if this is worthy of becoming a 'regular' place for lunch.

After trying this place no need to go back Ask about a sauce and to try it so she put it on Ask for saly and pepper they dont have any peppet

You will find tasty, healthy, *Korean inspired* inexpensive food at Bibibop. This is not traditional authentic Korean food but tastes just as good. The "bibibop" is inspired by the Korean rice bowl classic "bibimbap" which is a mix of rice, protein, and an assortment of healthy vegetables. Like at Chipotle, you choose your rice, protein (tofu, chicken or beef) and sauce and then you mix it all together yourself. The traditional "bibimbap" is served sizzling hot in a clay bowl with a raw or fried egg on top. In the "bibibop," the rice is warm and all the other toppings are room temp or cold. If you select egg, the egg comes as strips of scrambled egg. Unlike the traditional bibimbap, you can also add cheese, black beans or potato to your bibibop. I had mine with purple rice, tofu, all the vegetables, and the spicy siracha sauce. It was delicious and for 6.00, also a great value! The Henderson restaurant was also very clean and open and the staff very nice and polite. You can also order online at the Henderson location for pick-up. Bibibop is a great choice for a quick inexpensive healthy delicious meal.

Delicious alternative to Piada and Chipotle. Clean environment, friendly employees, fresh ingredients. The atmosphere in clean and casual and fun. I appreciate that all of the sauces are available for self service so that if they didn't put enough on initially, you can still doctor up your dish as needed. Also, nice to go to a place that doesn't charge extra for lemonade, cause most places punish those of us that don't drink soda by up-charging for lemonade. Win! I'm a fan and I will be back!

  • Serena L.

Very tasty.just like people comment chipotle of asia.very tasty.although I m pretty sure it is not authentic korean food.but it is very tasty!strongly recommend when it is fresh!

  • Kaellen C.

I went there the first week it was open and the food is pretty yummy. I find it interesting that these new restaurant are doing a "Chipotle" style line but I think Henry Ford did it first! Anyways...the food was great. I love the purple rice, tofu and all other toppings. I big plus for me were all of the sauces available! I did try the Kimchi and was not a fan of it. Having had authentic kimchi before this was run of the mill. All in all great food, employees and space! Will be going back!

  • Alexis R.

I am obsessed. I love the bowls with the purple rice and all the veggies. Everything is fresh and delicious and tastes especially good followed by the lemonade. The bowls are pretty big and very filling. I would go for this over chipotle any day, but the set up is very similar. Love love love this place.

  • Holly C.

I think this would be considered kind of Korean fusion. It's nice to have healthy options for food. This type of restaurant/food place is getting popular because customers can choose and customize it to their liking. Same concept that Chipotle started, then there was Piada, Pera, and Fusian near campus. The staff is friendly, and the decor is very modern and fun. I usually pick up food to go during lunch time though. They are very fast, and there is never a very long wait.

    (4)
  • William S.

A fresh take on bibimbap. It's nothing close to bibimbap so don't compare. I like the fact that it's different. I love Bibimbap, I get mine from Silla or Minga. Bibibop is clean, the food is tasty and the service is great.

  • Buddy Jack E.

I'll rate this one ahead of the Grandview Heights location because the parking situation is better and they have the Korean Red Sauce in the condiment section.

  • Fred B.

We have a friend that eats lunch at Bibibop EVERY DAY...!!! Yummy, healthy, flavorful, inexpensive. Provided that you like rice, proteins, vegetables and tasty sauces at an inexpensive price point, Bibibop is awesome. And my daughter LOVES it...

  • Anna H.

I am obsessed. Maybe it's not authentic Korean, as some have said, but it's still delicious. I made an out-of-the-way detour here on the way home the other night to grab dinner to go. Since I have been to the Polaris location, I knew what I wanted (bowl with tofu and practically everything else they offer), but was unsure how my granddaughter who is 3 and picky was going to react. I ordered the kid's bowl for her and let her choose her ingredients. She thought it was fun, and when we got home...she ATE it. Score! I like this location as well; the employees were very nice and one even held the door for us as we left.

"Korean - inspired" is definitely the correct term to describe this place. If you're expecting actual Korean food, walk away. But if you want something fast, relatively healthy (minus the yum yum sauce and half the rice), you're good to go. I initially got excited when this place first opened up in Grandview. I was envisioning something like Bibigo in Korea. Once I got more info, I was rather unexcited and felt no urge to go - Potatoes? Beans? No gochujang sauce? Even if you're not actually Korean, but Korean inspired, that's just WEIRD not to have gochujang sauce to go on your bowl. But yesterday I was hungry and in a hurry, and it was on the way. And I heard they had added a "Korean spicy red sauce" to their repertoire. I'm sorry, but even if I'm having something inspired by bibimbahp, I've gotta have my red sauce. The setup is nice and organized, and very easy and straightforward. I went with a bowl with purple rice, spicy chicken, and all the veggies. Allergic to cheese and egg, and just couldn't do the potatoes. Tried the beans. It was pretty good - the beans still weirded me out. I don't think they belong, but I was looking for more protein and substance. The sauce was a little thinner than I'm used to, but the flavor was pretty much there. I felt that it didn't have that fermented funky flavor that gochujang has, but it did have a nice note of toasted sesame. And the price was great - I felt much better eating this than a fast food meal from Wendy's, which was rather equitable in price. So yes, I would eat this as a convenience and a very good alternative to fast food, but I wouldn't go seek it out on a regular basis like I do with Chipotle and Piada.

  • Shea H.

Foodwise, I am not a fan of Bibibop (spelled wrong on Yelp, I think). The combination of starches and veggies just doesn't do it for me. Potatoes and rice? It's too much for my brain and palate. And the tofu option isn't very flavorful. It's just not my bag, baby. The atmosphere is nice, though. And employees are extremely friendly, which I appreciate. It's relatively affordable and keeps you full for a substantial amount of time. The ingredients look good but there is absolutely no nutritional information on the Bibiop website, which I usually take as a bad sign. If you're working hard to sell me wellness but will not tell me what's in your food, I am inclined to believe that something's not quite right. So yea, there you have it. Give it a try and see what you think.

The name caught my eye, as I LOVE bibimbap (closer to the Korean pronunciation). I've had it in Korea, in China and here in the C-bus (Silla, Kaya, Diaspora). It's simply one of my favorite meals ever. So I see the name, which evokes thoughts of the dish, and decide to give this a try. Huge mistake. I knew I was in trouble, just looking at the optional ingredients. Potatoes?? Scrambled egg?? Black beans?? I fought off the urge to walk out (the blonde behind the counter was super nice) since I was really hungry, and put together a bowl. Cut to the chase: it sucked. Tasted horrible. I'll never go back. Basically, they are trying to Chipotle-ize a beautiful Korean dish and fail. Miserably. And I don't really have an issue with them puting whatever they want in their nasty assembly line, but for the love of Pete, don't name it something misleading. It's like naming a restauarant 'Filet Mignon' and serving up tofu patties. Korean inspired? No Korean I know would approve of this mess.

Great service, always fast. I come here or pick up whenever I want a healthy meal with very fresh vegetables and I don't want to spend a lot of time worrying about dinner. Hard to beat the price, too.

LOVE LOVE LOVE. Bibibop, any location, is amazing. I think I could eat this 3 times a week. I really enjoy the organic tofu option and its so easy to have a delicious vegan bowl with it! Still plenty of options for the meat eaters as well. I would suggest to skip the beans and go for spouts and try the Korean red sauce instead of yum yum.

  • Ryan K.

Bibibop serves as a very interesting alternative to the likes of a place like Chipotle though it works in very much the same way. The choices though are of a very different sort with what seems to be a Korean influence. Regardless, what I will say about it, is that it's quite delicious. I personally usually go through and grab a salad with beans, sprouts and potatoes, toss on a few veggies, and then go right for the teriyaki sauce. I'm pretty much always a sucker for a teriyaki. This works out to be a fantastically tasty meal and at a very reasonable price (something like 8 bucks or so). So far the service here has been pretty great. I haven't yet had to wait longer than what is reasonable and everyone there has been incredibly courteous. The location is also in a great spot as it's just outside the gym I go to, so it's perfect for that grab and go on the way home. It's definitely worth a look if you haven't given Bibibop a try yet.

  • Bee S.

This place is coo.. nothing original about it. I see similarities in it from Chipotle. Onto the food it's tasty and tries to aim for healthy and I have yet figured out if there produce and meats are organic yet. But it's cheap and it's filling feels light after I ate it.

  • Adrianne B.

Bibibop is a Korean-inspired fast casual joint not unlike Chipotle or Piada. You choose your base meal (rice bowl, roll, or salad), customizing it along the counter with beans/potatoes/sprouts, protein (chicken/tofu/beef), veggies, and sauce. Extras include kimchi, edamame, & miso soup. The produce is fresh and simple, with enough quirk to satisfy a more adventurous eater (e.g. shredded daikon and purple rice.) It's a nice option for a quick, easy, and inexpensive lunch or dinner. The interior is clean and modern and the booths are perfect for a family or group of friends or coworkers. I've been twice, both times with preschooler in tow, and really liked the food. I recommend the purple rice with bean sprouts, spicy chicken, carrots & daikon, kimchi and Korean red sauce. The Henderson Road location has a web ordering option with in-store pickup.

  • Nina R.

Finally tried this place after it replaced Charley's sandwiches. The interior is very modern and clean. I love the inside almost as much as their food. Set up sort of like Chipotle, but they have very different options. I ordered a bowl with white rice, chicken, bean sprouts, corn, cheese, and teriyaki sauce. Cost was around 8$ with a medium fountain drink. Pricing seemed a little much but when you taste the food you can taste the freshness, making the price a little more worthy. Bowl seemed like it wasn't going to fill me up but it did! Great taste, a few options to try next time, and overall friendly staff. I would definitely go again, and I'm actually craving it right now. Downside is they are closed on Sundays!!
