Went to Arch City for a friend's birthday dinner and I was impressed with everything! Our food, server and the atmosphere were fantastic. We went on a Friday around 7ish and we immediately got a table. We were there for an hour or so and the place was full by the time we left. To start, my friend and I shared the lobster mac and cheese (must try) and for dinner I had the Market burger with truffle fries (DELISH). Arch City Tavern is a great location for dinner or to grab a beer with a friend.

Atmosphere- chill and dark. Good for young, old, any professionals really. Service- A+, the lady was so nice. Food- burger taste like a burger so that's good. Their special menu item was steak and that was good as well. The calamari sucked so badly, save yourself and don't get it. It's shaped like thick French fries and tasted like bland dry porous hard tofu. My friend ordered the same thing and didn't touch it after her first bite. Try their sandwiches and pizza. Those are definitely their safe choices.

Good vibe at the Arch City Tavern, it's a cool joint; stopped in for a late-night nosh after an evening of drinking & debauchery. Had the Arch City Burger - this burger bursts with amazing flavor, although it was a little dry, which could've been attributable to how late in the night we were still ordering food. Nice beer selection, though I should've stuck to making my way through their variety of craft options, but no I had to venture off and try their Moscow Mule - which turned out to be the fatal error of the evening! I felt like I was gnawing straight ginger root!! wtf is in that thing?!? Never have I had such a potent ginger flavor, mistakenly I kept sipping the drink hoping it was going to get better and eventually subside. Once I finally finished this ginger smack explosion, just had to call it a night....

I've been to Arch City a few times for some drinks, but it's usually crowded and can be hard to find a table, so I never actually tried the food. Actually, I may have had the food once, but it wasn't memorable, so we'll pretend this was my first time. We actually walked in here on Red, White, and Boom as the fireworks were going on and were the only people at the bar. How convenient. The bartenders were very nice, and I ended up grabbing a beer from the decent draft selection. For dinner, my girlfriend ended up getting the Fig pizza and I tried the bison burger with blue cheese and whatever else was on it. This was a special tonight, so you won't find it on the menu. The food was out quick, and the burger appeared to be cooked medium like I asked, but that was the only good thing about that dish for me. It was so incredibly dry, and the blue cheese definitely didn't help that I couldn't even finish it, and that almost never happens. I barely got about halfway done before I had to give up. I don't like saying anything, but the bartender noticed that I wasn't a fan, and comped me a drink. Thanks! The Parmesan fries that was came with it were okay, but I wasn't amazed by them. The fig pizza was definitely better than the burger, and my girlfriend seemed to enjoy. To me, it was also a bit dry, and that may be due to the heavy amount of arugula on it. I felt like a rabbit. By the time we were done eating, the fireworks were over, and the place was packed again. I don't think I'd go out of my way to eat here, especially with how busy it can get, but if I wind up here again, I'd give it a second chance. I'll probably stay away from the burgers though.

What I love about this place: great location, amazing bar food tried the truffle fries and baked brie; both excellent), and a very top-notch beer selection. A good watering hole with solid snacks, for sure. What I don't like: Very trendy (one of those bars where people go to be seen) and hit-or-miss service. I strongly believe that if a bar is trying to be more than a regular old bar and has a gastropub-ish vibe, then it has to to up its service game. During my visit, it appeared that our very young and handsome male server gave over-the-top service to a table of attractive young ladies. However, he could barely be bothered to talk to us (e.g. didn't even do a check back after someone else dropped off our food). The only smile he bestowed upon us was when he dropped off our check. For that reason alone, I am tempted not to return, which is sad, because Arch City seems to have everything else going for them. Perhaps I'll return during a weekday and see if things are any better.

The perfect blend of a casual, laid back atmosphere, with a multitude of options on the food menu.

Progressively worse each visit. The ENTIRE place smells like dirty toilet water in my last two visits. The cocktails have gone from a signature item to a disastrous concoction of ingredients. I can't go there anymore and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

What can I say... this is my home away from home! I live dangerously close to Arch City and find myself always rounding out good night here at 2 AM ... OR Friday date nights with a hub somehow always end up here too! Doesn't matter what the occasion is... this is one of my FAVE places in the Short North!! I love that they have a hostess upon arrival. So even if you're just in for some good 90s throwback jams and beers, it's still nice to have a waitress and a table for your group. Somehow I've managed to always skip a wait (even when they say it's 30 minutes, I never wait more than 5) and I love getting "our" booth every time (magic? quite possibly.) The ambiance is perfection. Just the right amount of lighting, on warm days/nights the front windows open to the world. Dark, manly bar and furnishings. And a *wonderful* hand drawn pencil mural of old school SN which warms my heart!!! 4 TVs if you're looking for some sports. The have two bathrooms for women now and they are nice and clean! The service is FANTASTIC. Again, doesn't matter time of day, day of week... The staff is soooo lovely!! Can't say enough good things!! They always keep your waters and beers full.. you'll never want for anything! Solid happy hour - half priced pizzas beers and wine!! Oh and the food... I love Parmesan truffle fries and it's all you can smell at 1 AM!!! The pizzas are great and we really love the salmon sandwich and brussels!! Something for everyone on the menu. Love their beer selection and they can do a decent vodka soda (hard to mess up) but I do wish they had better wine.. Maybe in time! The crowd is definitely mixed BUT that's what makes it awesome. I don't feel old here :-) seriously just go to Arch City!!!

It's fine. Better than average beer list. Blander than average food. I would not object going back here since the beer list is okay and it has nice ambiance but I would come and not get food. It was pricey for what it was. I had the brie---bland--if you like a cheese so mild, you can barely taste anything, you will like this. A few people had burgers that they said were fine. I've been a few times and service is excellent and happy hour specials are awesome.

I have been to Arch City several times for drinks but tonight was the first time I tried their food. The lobster mac and cheese is REALLY good. They also have a great beer selection. The ambience is nice if a little dark. The open windows in warm weather is a great touch. The prices are a little steep but overall it's a great place to visit.

Met me in the middle but not all the way. The atmosphere and style is on point but the menu is over priced. They have great drink specials with a decent tap selection. You may want to eat before you come or share a plate or two with friends. The vibe is on the dressier side of casual. Not an every day bar but more of a cool place to hang with a small group of friends. I enjoyed the open air seating.

Arch City has been one of my favorite Short North restaurants for the past few months.....with a great draft beer menu and cool atmosphere it's hard to go wrong! As the weather has warmed up its great to enjoy happy hour outside.....or near big windows! While Arch City doesn't have a patio they have tables along large windows facing High Street. Great people watching accompanies great beer......I went with the Ballast Point Sculpin! With a frequently changing draft list Arch City always has seasonal favorites. For dinner the other night I had the Market Burger......it was delicious. The burger was cooked perfectly and had so much flavor Brie and leeks. There is a sunny egg on top which made the burger extra special. The truffle fries are worth the extra $3 as a side dish. I'm not a fan of chips with a burger which is the standard side. Overall Arch City provided another great night out with delicious food and great beer!!!

I walked in Arch City and instantly liked it. It was a bit classier than I expected, but not in a pretentious way. It reminds me of a slightly more upscale Bernards when you first walk in. I was there for a special event, and it was packed at the peak of the event. Still, the service was good. Their happy hour deals are incredible. Half off draft beer and wines plus pizzas. I got the fig pizza, which I was very happy with. The goat cheese was great, and I was really full/satisfied after eating it. Arch City is a goto happy hour spot in the Short North.

Arch City wins all around! We walked in and were stunned by the decor, I love the old time city mural on the wall as well as the Short North lights that are displayed over the streets there. High top tables all over make it just that much cooler, and that bar, wow, beautiful. Our server came up right away and was recommending drinks. I asked how the margarita was & he said I should just get it, but warned me it was "different. I was worried. My margarita came and it was a tan color, I was more worried. I took a drink, as the server watched me, and I was blown away! This is one of my top 3 favorite margaritas ever! The Great Southern Margarita! Order it! It has a similar taste to apple sauce and was wonderful! We did not order food, but it was a nice place to sit and talk. It was 2pm, so it wasn't too busy yet, however, I don't think I heard anyone else's conversation the entire time we were there. it is an excellent spot to hang out, get a good drink and enjoy good conversation.

I've only been during happy hour. They have a great selection of adult beverages, and they are half off at happy hour. Beers were good. Burgers were good. The dining experience during happy hour was nice. It was pretty uncrowded, we were seated quickly, and while not upscale, its much nicer than a dive bar. We did try to go back for dinner once (without a reservation on a Friday night) and there was a decent wait, so we went somewhere else (a pro of the Short North is there will always be SOMEWHERE without a wait) but I won't hold that against them.

Been in a few times and have really enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff. Servers have always been fun and on special occasions (New Year's, etc.) the place is a blast. Usually come in to grab a drink or two. Beer selection is hit or miss, pricing is what you would expect. Last visit really left a sour taste in my mouth which docked a few stars. Server was polite and funny, but messed up the orders just about every time she walked back to our table. And to have the manager stand over your table and make you chug drinks you just purchased well within not only your store hours, but legal time frame, is quite poor. As somebody who's been in the industry a few years now, I totally understand not wanting that table to stay around and linger. But if I'm going to give you my business and take care of your serving staff before you even "close", a little respect by not forcing me out the door would be appreciated. It's a shame. Probably will be giving my money elsewhere. Fun while it lasted.

Arch City has some great food and a fantastic happy hour. On my most recent visit, I shared the lobster mac & cheese and their Philly cheesesteak. Both were great! I've also had the Arch City burger (with a fried egg on top), and their wings. I have to recommend all of that. I never had to wait too long for my food, either.

I've been going with some friends for several Sunday's in a row now for 3 reasons: 1 the bartender on Sunday nights is a girl named Ashley. She's as funny and easy to talk to as she is beautiful. We love sitting at the bar and including her in as much conversation as possible. There's a guy named Luke Thursday nights that we equally love. Funny, with an impressive amount of insight that make you want converse with him, as well. 2 the food. Haven't had a single thing in the menu that isn't amazing. Not like "oh I love that place, it's amazing" like every other person says about a restaurant. It's up there with the BEST in the city. The brat corn dogs and the club sandwich are my go to. 3 Arch City always has new and varied beers on tap, with hard alcohol for all types of personalities, with a solid drink menu. Moscow mules are delicious, amazing ginger flavor. Honestly, if I could live in the bar I would, but Thursday and Sunday nights will have to do.

What can I say.....Arch City is an awesome place for food and drinks! The restaurant itself has an awesome location, and the atmosphere is really fun! I I went with my family and my fiance after the Capital City Half Marathon on Saturday and it was exactly what we were looking for. I ordered the spinach salad and added grilled chicken, everyone else got a burger, with the exception of my soon to be Mr, who ordered the Turkey Club. Everyone left happy and satisfied. I will be returning for sure next time we are in Columbus!

I went to Arch City today for happy hour, and it was a great experience. During happy hour, drafts, glasses of wine, and pizzas are half off. As far as food options go, I could see how some people might want a bit more diversity in that special, but the pizzas were pretty dang good. Also, there's a bunch of other stuff on the regular menu as well. Our server was pretty nice, and the overall ambience of the place was pretty pleasing. As a general rule, I'm not really a fan of barstool seating, but I dug everything else about the place. Plus, it didn't seem like the sort of place that's typically overcrowded, which I appreciated.

I'll preface my review by saying I went to Arch City for two things: TVs to watch the OSU game and the lobster mac & cheese. Now, for being a home game day, the restaurant was surprisingly empty (not that I'm complaining), and the service was great. The lobster mac was just as gooey and dreamy as I imagined -- they actually weren't too skimpy on the lobster, but I made sure to save the whole claw of meat till the very end. And, despite being on the "shareable" portion of the menu, I did anything BUT share that mac. Whoops. A couple of my friends also got the grilled cheese and tomato soup, which was a VERY generous portion, and quite delightful as well. I can't speak for the alcohol (I was fasting for a marathon the next day), but the selection looked pretty solid -- lots of draft and bottled beers, and fancy schmancy cocktails. Everyone seemed satisfied with their choices, and I wouldn't mind going back and trying out the cheese plate...

Decent food, delicious drafts Truffle fries are quite delectable. Fries are a little thin for my liking (I'm a fan of thick, hot "fair" fries). But, very garlic-y! The sauces that they are served with are only okay. I'm not sure what they taste like - maybe horseradish or maybe course mustard? Their draft selection is very good. It is rare to see SixPoint Resin on draft. It is unbelievably refreshing on a hot summer night. All in all, Arch City is a good place. Nothing exceptional, but nothing too bad. Great service with an attentive waiter. Good eats!

Okay, my first impression wasn't great, but I've been back quite a few times and it's become a staple for me in the short north. I absolutely love the French onion soup -- presentation is nice too because it comes out in a cored onion. The food is pretty solid for pub food, and I haven't had a bad experience since my first time here.

Met some friends last night for some dinner and drinks and I was once again reminded why this is one of the best places in the Short North and Columbus. The food was Delicious, (Lamb Sliders, Margarita Pizza) The atmosphere was Alive (Busy, but not packed with open air windows in the front) And great service from both the bartenders and servers! Can't say enough good things about this spot, will be bringing my work associates in for a Happy Hour soon.

I'm just writing a short review based on my first impressions after attending a happy hour event at Arch City Tavern last Wednesday. They have an aesthetically pleasing interior with a lot of dark grained wood and an extensive bar stretching the entire length of restaurant. The ambiance is casual, but trendy. I found the service to be attentive, even though we were standing around watching the Argentina vs. Netherlands game, the waitstaff was constantly rounding to make sure our drinks were topped off. They have a wide selection of draft beers, many of which I am unfamiliar with. That's a good thing in my eyes as i'm always up for trying out new brews. They also have Left Hand Brewing Company's Milk Stout Nitro on draft, which automatically gives the bar bonus points. I can't really say much about the food, since I only tried the free flatbread pizza appetizers they offered at happy hour. Those were good though. Anyways, i'll definitely be back for a complete meal and I will update my review at that time.

I went to Arch City for the first time on a weekday evening around 7:30. It was hot as heck inside since the doors in the front open onto the street. Our server came and took our drink order. And then we waited a long time to get the drinks. I ordered a burger, medium well. While waiting for the food, I ordered another drink. My burger arrived and after one or two bites it was obvious it was undercooked. Not even medium, which I could have handled, but medium rare. Our server did not check back to see if the food was ok. She seemed to have disappeared. So now I had food I couldn't eat and no drink. The server eventually reappeared, apologizing that the bar's printer had run out of paper and the bartender didn't realize. Ok. Then she noticed I hadn't eaten my burger and offered to have it recooked. At that point I really didn't care anymore so I told her not to bother. She did take it off the check and seemed very apologetic. With a kitchen that can't cook a burger and a bartender who doesn't notice the printer is out of paper (when they were not busy at all), this place will soon go the way of many other temporarily trendy short north bars.

Pros: Good food and fun/relaxing atmosphere on a Sunday afternoon. The truffle fries were especially delicious. They have a decent beer selection and an awesome front window setup. Basically, the entire front of the restaurant opens so that you can sit almost on the sidewalk in front of the store. Its kind of like a neat little patio area. The hand drawn pencil art that is in the photographs is interesting/impressive. Cons: Interestingly enough we sat ourselves, as the sign says to do, and it took a while for someone to come over and check on us. That's okay though, we had time to spare. Others who were in a hurry might not be as pleased. There seemed to be only one server.

Came here to watch the England v. Italy world cup game at 5:30pm on a Saturday. Surprisingly, it wasn't that packed! Super chill and relaxed atmosphere with good service. We were able to grab a table for 8 pretty easily. This place is great because they have flight sized beer - I had 2 flights, 1 Fat Tire and 1 Killbuck. They have really great food too: Appetizers: Sliders - 3.5. There were 6 sliders that came with a bucket of truffle fries. I cannot resist truffle fries - they are so good. I didn't have any of the pulled pork sliders, but the husband says they are about a 3.5 -- "not bad." Goat cheese - 4. Pretty decent sized ball of goat cheese with crackers and green apples. Pretty good for a table of 8. Mains: Portobello Mushroom burger - it was good! Good overall flavor. Hooray for goat cheese on mushroom burgers too - it adds so much. Lobster mac and cheese - the husband got this and enjoyed it! I think it was a pretty decent sized dish of mac and cheese. Other friends got the shrimp and grits (it was ok - personally not a fan of the smoky flavor) and french onion soup (it comes in an onion!!) Overall, we enjoyed our time there and I had a great time watching the game. Fun fact: Short North's arches are historic, which is why the tavern is named Arch City. They have a big mural of life in the Short North during the 1920s.

I'm a big fan of this short north gem! I probably won't do it justice in this review, but let me try... If you are looking for a casual bar scene that has more to eat than just mozzarella sticks and an old bag of Mike Sells potato chips...this is your spot! It's a gastropub with a menu that puts a unique spin on traditional dishes like its lobster mac and cheese. It has great burgers and even a slider sampler that's really good. Prices are reasonable, service has been great, atmosphere is fun and inviting, and of course I approve of the drink menu! Great place with friends or just a casual date night.

My fish and chips...WOW. Best I've ever had in Columbus and I've been here 13 years. However, I still have a soft spot and miss my old gay stomping ground (Havana). While I'm sad Havana is gone, dining in an open-window restaurant in it's place wasn't too shabby. Our waitress was extremely attentive but not to the point where she was being creepy-she-was-there-so-often type. Our food came out very quickly and for the place being as packed as it was-I was impressed. Everyone's food looked incredible. My sis and her friend both got pizzas which they ate the whole thing and saved none for me. Oh well. Ha! Definitely check it out. The food is fantastic.

We stopped in Arch City Tavern on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and cocktails while checking out the Short North area for the first time (it was awesome!!). I don't live in Columbus, so I'm not familiar with any of the restaurants in the area. I'm glad we ended up at Arch City. If I lived in the area, I think I'd return regularly. It's a nice space. Roomy seating so you're not on top of other patrons. A fairly large bar. Dark wood all around. It looks classy. Good beer selection. I ordered a moscow mule, and it was one of the best that I've had. My friend and I shared a few dishes on the menu. There were quite a few things we wanted to try to kudos for an interesting and appetizing menu. We had the brie, which was nothing I'd want to order again. Skip that fo sho. We also had a fig pizza with goat cheese, pine nuts, and arugula and it was so so. On paper it looked amazing. In my mouth, it was disappointing. I don't know what went wrong, but it did. (something with the goat cheese - it lost its tang and wasn't decipherable in the pizza) but who cares because: LAMB SLIDERS. These perfect little sliders were the best thing I've eaten in a long time. Sliced, tender amazing lamb on soft little buns with greens and a garlic aioli or mayo type of something on them. Really wonderful flavor. The sliders were accompanied by truffled french fries. It's one of the few times I've had truffled french fries and the truffle oil wasn't heavy handing which for me ruins the fries. The fries were of the skinny variety and had the perfect amount of french fry crunch. Service was good. Prices were fair. I'll definitely return next time I'm in town.

This best thing about this cute little bar is the view & breeze from the (1 of just 3) window seat I was able to snag early on a Tuesday evening. The wine selection isn't great, but if you're wanting wine, this probably isn't the best choice. With that being said, my waitress was great and suggested the lamb sliders when I couldn't choose. The sliders were delicious, but with the amount of goat cheese on top, I would have liked a thinner dipping sauce like an au jous or mint jelly. I was served an aioli that was just so-so. The truffle fries were a little mushy, but pretty decent. The visit ended on a sour note when my waitress had to be tracked down to clear the tab mind get going. Just an ok stop in short north... I would go back if I saw an open street side table just because I love "patios" and people watching.

I really enjoyed this place. My friends and I came in during holiday Gallery Hop and were amazed not to have a wait. Our waiter, Taylor, was a riot - friendly and casual, appropriate for the atmosphere. We were all enthused about the beer selection, especially the Ommegang tap takeover that was going on at the time. Lots of great choices, and all in the correct glassware - even the Game of Thrones glassware for the Valar Morghulis draft! The food was tasty. I had lamb sliders (yum) and a side of Brussels sprouts, which was the largest side dish I've ever seen. It was a cast iron skillet overflowing with Brussels sprouts, roasted and crisped and delicious. Enough for the whole table. I loved the decor - simple, and with the Short North arches featured along with the art on the walls. I'll go back for sure.

I've been coming here since it opened and have always loved it. Sometimes service was iffy, and I've tried some things which have disappeared from the menu (I agree with those changes) Last night I went for dinner and it raised the bar. Part of our party went early to put our name down for a table. Having been there before i know it gets busy and on a gallery hop night waits can be up to an hour in the neighborhood. Expecting a 30-45 minute wait we grabbed drinks and they came to seat us in about 15 minutes. Since it would have been just 2 of our party we gave that table to another group and were still seated quickly about 15 minutes later. We had a birthday cake and the manager kindly put it in a cooler and let our server know and our server was AWESOME. He was friendly, quick, adorable, and genuinely seemed to be enjoying himself, too. The food & drink, per usual, were great. Try the Calamari. Honestly the best I've had... Ever. It was huge and tender; not the chewy little rings that are slapped on every other menu. I always get the arch city burger. It's good. Don't mess with it. And, since this was a birthday outing, the cocktails featured heavily. They have one of my favorite old fashioned's. Great Moscow mule with candied ginger. And something called a Spring Tipple which is like drinking up a sunny day.

Like stated previously, I loved this place. I came here for New Years and had the time of my life. We had a regular server who was absolutely fabulous. But after my experience at Arch City Tavern last night, I will never return. My coworkers and I had finally gotten off work (we work at a bar/restaurant) and we're looking forward to a night in the short north. We arrived at Arch City around 1:30 and ordered some drinks. No problem. Last call rolls around at about 2:10, and one of my coworkers orders one final beer. It took about 5 mins to get the beer to the table. At 2:15, we get our first personal warning from our server that went something like "You have 5 minutes to finish that drink". Okay? To my knowledge, we have 15 minutes until your establishment closes and the law enforces "no more drinking". I work at a bar. I understand these rules. We continued to receive more warnings until finally, the manager decided to stand beside our table and watch my coworker finish his beer. I was in absolute disbelief at how rude and disrespectful this person was. The funny thing was, we weren't even the last people in the place! Also an honorable mention, (I don't know if he was still on the clock) I watched an employee (still in uniform) grab a beer, and drink it on the floor. Absolutely disgraceful. As I said before, I will NEVER return to this place and I will gladly tell my friends to never try it. Way to go management.

First time here, love it! Our waiter joey is awesome, and very attentive. The barrel tables are a little odd, but once you get used to it its like a private bar. One of high streets best!

One of our favorite places in the short north! It's a cozy place but have always been able to find a spot. It's a little dark at night which may bother some people but it's just fine with me! I love their calamari appetizer, but beware it's a little spicy! Good beer selection! I have yet to get any of their cocktails but definitely plan on trying some they sound great. You should totally give this place a try!

Love the Short North feel in the back end of this restaurant. Wait was a bit long, but we didn't make a reservation. Good pours on drinks. Lobster Mac n Cheese is a must. The steak-cut calamari was really different, but delicious. I had never had calamari cut like that before. I got the Club sandwich. It was so good. I couldn't wait to eat the other half the next day. The Brussels Sprouts were flavorful, but a bit heavy on the oil. I couldn't eat too many without fear of an upset belly. They come out in their own cast iron mini skillet and are super hot at first. Let them cool down a second.

Amazing place during happy hour. They have some of the best drafts in town and at fairly inexpensive prices. The food is good but is prices higher than it should be. I venture in there at least once a week. Bartenders are great, manager is a great guy. Happy hours are mon-fri 3-7pm. I recommend trying it out, not the place to get drunk but and great place to get a buzz. Very classy place. Everyone is nicely dressed but not over dressed. A plethora of beautiful women go there often. Overall good place.

A popular spot as you enter the Short North. I've been here on a several occasions and while the space is often crowded, the staff does a good job of accommodating and finding tables for me and my guests. I've visited just for drinks and for dining and have had pleasant experiences with both. I'd recommend any of their bourbon cocktails, if thats your particular brand of poison.

Arch City is a great little bar. Gone are the days of the really gross bar that was here before. They did a huge renovation, and it really paid off. Great crowd, good drinks, good food. All of their pizzas and shareable plates are just really nice. Especially for a bar. Cocktails are good but uninspired. I do give credit for their Southern Margarita. I was skeptical of the yuzu (being not southern at all), but it turned out well. I am also a fan of their beer selection. Even for an area saturated with bars, their selection is a standout. Only truly negative thing I can say is that they have a couple incompetent bartenders. Service is always friendly and fast, but really. How hard is it to make a Manhattan?!? At least don't look confused when I order it. Never my first choice, but not far down the list.

Wanted to review this place the last time I went about a month ago: I've been here in the past with friends and it's been a blast, in fact I hit it off with my girlfriend there so it has a place in my heart, but my last experience soured me to the point where I won't go back. I went in with some friends for work at about 12:30am, and when we ordered our drinks our server brought us the wrong drink on three separate occasions. She was genuinely flustered, but was such a sweetheart we didn't mind too much. At about 2, a half hour before close, they did a last call. I received my drink at 2:10am, to which their manager told me I only had a minute to drink my full drink. I work in the industry, and I know with hours until 2:30 and legal laws saying I have until 2:30 to finish my drink, I was put off by this. He then sat at my table and made me chug my drink 20 minutes before close, which seriously pissed me off. The management staff has serious issues, and for that reason I will never be giving my money to them again.

Great decor, nice drink menu, and delicious food make an all-around fantastic experience! We finally got around to getting dinner at Arch City during Farm-to-Plate week after seeing it on the list of restaurants. Not too long of a wait, considering it was a Saturday night, and I enjoyed their great draft list while waiting. Our table ended up being right at the open windows in front, so we were able to people-watch, which was great! Our server was attentive and friendly, which doesn't always happen on Saturday nights in the Short North. Caprese stack was good, with a very subtle balsamic, which I liked. My margherita pizza was amazing, and my boyfriend's portobello sandwich was delicious. I was surprised that they weren't more expensive considering the overall experience! I loved the arch as part of the ceiling decor, as well as the classic wood paneling along the bar side of the restaurant. The differing styles along the sides of the restaurant worked dynamically for me, and the space had a great ambiance. Will definitely be coming back soon!

Arch City has an attractive space in a great location. I've been here twice, and the second experience far outpaced the first. On my first visit, I ordered the lamb shank sliders. They were a bit dry, and for $13 I was left a bit disappointed. I decided to give Arch City another go. My second visit was during happy hour on a Friday. The space was not very crowded, thankfully, and the menu boasts some good deals-- half off drafts, glasses of wine, and pizzas. I had the bratwurst corn dog and a glass of the Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon. The bratwurst order came with delicious whole grain mustard and four skewered and fried brats. My service quick and pleasant. It was just what I was looking for in a happy hour snack. I'm glad I gave Arch City another try, I will definitely return.

A nice, but just okay spot in the Short North. We stopped in for drinks and ended up getting the Moule Frites since they sounded so good (mussels, blue cheese broth, bacon, fennel, watercress and fresh-cut fries on the side to dip in the broth). If you like blue cheese then you'll love it, but if you don't.... I wish it had more broth for the fries. Actually, I wish it had more broth and bread instead. Overall, not bad. The "crafted" drinks were weak in alcohol and flavor. The Sazerac left me longing for the New Orleans original; the Pumpkin Mule less ginger and lemon. Nice draft beer selection though. Flying Dog Raging Bitch on tap? Count me in! The waiter was a little aloof. Took forever to get anything and to get the bill, considering they weren't busy. I'll report back in with an update but it might be a while...

I love this place! Made my 2nd visit here yesterday. There was a good crowd there on a Sunday evening at 7p. I love the coziness of Arch City and the décor is beautiful. The first time my bfriend and I stopped here, we had the corn dogs and they were really good. This time we came for dinner and were ready to chow down! We ordered the spring rolls to start. Very tasty! But probably could have skipped those due to the fact that we ordered the rich, cheesy, absolutely delicious Lobster Mac n Cheese and a Burger and fries. The mac and cheese was spot on. Big pieces of lobster, ooey gooey cheese,....perfect! The burger was sooo damn good as well! I forget the name of the one we ordered but it was the one with sage. MMMM! We also ordered an Old Fashioned and the Margarita. Both were delicious! We will definitely be back!

There are few spots in the short north that can appeal to the masses while honoring an individually focused attentiveness. Arch city is that spot. It's myriad of carefully selected drafts and timeless spirits are why I'm there frequently. However, the staff is the lifeblood there; the true stamp of an established venue. Come for the spirits and leave with a new SN friend!

I'm not sure what else people are looking for from this place. The food is fantastic and considering the location, it is really reasonably priced. The service is speedy and beyond accommodating. They have a great beer selection and i have never had a bad drink there either. This place does get busy, so finding a table to enjoy your food might be difficult, but I wont discredit a place for being popular. One of my favorite places to grad some food on short north.

The arch city burger was amazing. The taste reminded me of a corned beef roast...weird, but awesome. They have a huge tap selection which was great. The waitress did a great job. The place was really cool too.

Sad night. We got here around 9pm craving burgers. They did not have burgers. They also ran out of their pumpkin mule. The place was also pretty much empty, which is not a good sign. Probably won't go again with hopes of a burger. They had a decent selection of beers, but i wished their happy hour specials were better.

So host, hostess were really nice. We were excited for some good food and drinks. Service was ok, but never checked in on how the food was and it took 20 minutes for us to get the check. We're industry people, so we understand sometimes it you get crunch times that gets tough, but seriously... just ask one of the other 20 employees to help out. If he had asked how the food was, we would have told him the the pork bbq sliders were not good at all. There wasn't any bbq sauce on them. They were bland and the buns were not toasty, nor crunchy.... just fluffy, room temperature and tasteless. We turned down the offer to take them home, which we only had one bite. That's server 101. If the customer didn't eat it, find out why and never charge them for it. Never happened. Shrimp and grits were really good and the burger was ok. Again, don't expect an oily, crunchy, toasted bun. Bleh.

Went here last night for their anniversary and all food and drafts were half off!!! But, even if they weren't their pizza's are delicious. I got the Mediterranean pizza with feta, olives, roasted tomatoes, and spinach. It was really good, on a soft thin crust. I really like the artist that designed this location as well, its almost like a dedication bar to the Short North, which is one of my favorite locations within Ohio. So that was a cool aspect of it. The staff was really friendly for my group of 9 ppl. they were patient and did a good job with all of our orders, no messups or issues with the bills. Overall I like this place a lot and will be back here soon.

Arch city is hands down one of thee best adds to the Short North. The Short North was aching do a great Gastropubs full of local Ohio crafted burgers and locally brewed beers. Everything is delicious and the staff is incredibly kind. Keep rockin Arch City!

I had high hopes for this place, the decor is very cool and hip. I love the way the restaurant looks, but everything else was subpar. It seemed as if the lines of communication between hostess/servers/managers were closed. It seemed unorganized and we waited a very long time for a table. My table and a few other tables around us asked if they could put a game on the TV and they never did anything about it, or even seemed to care. The sliders were just ok. I wouldn't recommend them. I will be going back to give it another chance because my friends have had far better experiences.

The decor and ambiance of Arch City is probably its largest selling point for me. One whole wall is a mural tribute to old Columbus, and at least one rafter/beam I saw was a miniature scale version of one of the arches you can find right outside the doors. Lots of great natural wood, great tones and colors, and a very sleek and fluid feel that showcases the length/depth of the space. The huge wall of windows is a great improvement over the former occupant (Havana). The second selling point was probably our talkative server who sat and chatted with my friend and I about music and festivals while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. For whatever reason, they yanked her and had some dude who was far less attentive serve us. He had a table of ladies sitting right beside us. Wonder why he wasn't as interested in taking care of the eight top full of guys? They also made no announcement to us that they were switching servers on us. He just came out of nowhere and she was never seen again (although she was waiting on a table two down from us). Actually, I'm lowering a star for how that was handled and the drop in the level of service that resulted. The beer selection was decent, the happy hour is unimpressive though. We only ordered a handful of pies to share amongst the table. We had the margherita and the mediterranean. They were solid, but nothing out of this world. I would return to sample some more of the menu and maybe sit at the bar, but I don't see this becoming a regular destination on my calendar. Addendum: Nearly forgot, despite it being seat yourself (at least at the time we arrived), the manager or owner came over and asked us to move to another table after we sat, informing us that the table we had selected was reserved for a party. Maybe you should have put a sign on it. As it was, our eight top was squished around a six top table. Poor form. Now that I think about it, there goes another star.

While I'll always have a soft spot for Havana, this is a worthy replacement. The menu is great - small, but varied. I've tried the burger and the goat cheese pizza; both were really tasty. The beer choices are good, enough variety to satisfy everyone without being obnoxious. What really sings is the old fashioned. It's not a true old fashioned, but it's among the best cocktails in town, I think. The chipotle bitters are multi-layered and add spectacular depth to the drink. Move over, Barrel44. Love the atmosphere in this place - the mural is a focal point without being overpowering, and the lighting and dark wood looks timely and modern. The staff have been great, both at the bar and the tables. I've honestly got nothing to complain about here - my whole experience was great.

Freezing my tail off in Columbus last night we happened upon Arch City. It was a quiet Monday, the Tavern was clean and inviting, the server was knowledgable and responsive. The grilled romaine salad was awesome, a large portion with a nice dressing blue cheese crumbled and candied nuts. The signature burger was delicious and the parm. Cheese fries were excellent too. Great beer selection as well!

They got everything right here. We went on a double date last night and just to get it out of the way, we'll definitely be going back. From when you first walk in and see the mural on the wall and the exposed brick you can tell what kind of place this is. The restaurant was pretty busy for a Wednesday night but the tables are nicely spaced so you don't feel like you're in somebodys way. They had a great draft list and their happy hour deals are really good, half off beer, wine, and pizzas. Like many other Short North restaurants their front windows can open, which makes for a nice breezy feeling, if I had one complaint it would be that at times the passing traffic was too loud. So my wife and I both had the lamb shank sliders and the truffle fries, and our friends had a fig pizza and a mediterranean pizza and a french onion soup. The lamb shank sliders weren't dry like another reviewer mentioned, they were very tender and juicy and flavors of the goat cheese and aioli really came together. Truffle fries are thinner than you are used to seeing in these types of places, that's not to their detriment though. The fries were crispy and not greasy or heavy. The pizzas looked delicious and the bite I had of the fig pizza had me questioning my order. The onion soup came out in a hollowed out onion and also looked delicious. Waitstaff was quick and attentive and knew the menu well. They leave a large water on the table which I like, it keeps me from having to flag someone down everytime I run out. Prices were very fair for the quality and amount of food we had. Overall I was very impressed, everything seemed just a little bit classier than I'd anticipated and we'll be returning soon.

Arch city is my go to spot in the short north. Happy hour is Monday through Friday 3pm-7pm, half off draft beer, glasses of wine and pizza. With that kind of HH, there's no place I'd rather go. If you're looking for a fun atmosphere with quick service, amazing food and an even more amazing drink selection, this is the place for you. With over over 60 types of craft beers, it's the best selection in the short north.

Great atmosphere, good food Heard good things about this place so checked it out on a rainy evening. The atmosphere was what I like. The decor was very nice and clean. I liked the wall painting, the wood, and all the other stuff going on inside. You seat yourself so we found a comfy spot and put our orders in shortly thereafter. Had the wings appetizer and while the outer glaze was very nice, the meat of the chicken itself lacked seasoning. My wife ordered a margarita and it wasn't that much liquor. It came in a small glass that wasn't filled up with a HUGE ice cube in the middle. It was a nice tasting margarita at least. For entree I had the Arch burger. It was a really delicious burger with lots of flavor and great seasoning on the meat. The fries were alright, definitely need ketchup with them. The lobster mac & cheese was ok, not the best I've ever had that's for sure. Maybe if I could give 3 1/2 stars I definitely would.

Arch city tavern is one of my favorite places to go in Columbus for great beer, great food, and an inviting atmosphere. From pub favorites like their Arch City Burger and Parmesan truffle fries to more gourmet selections such as the Lobster Mac n cheese made with a smoked Gouda bechamel, you can't go wrong with any of the items on the menu. Every time I've been to Arch City, my server has been friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to go out of his or her way to ensure that my experience is unforgettable. I recommend the Arch City Burger: this sirloin, short rib, chuck, and brisket patty topped with bacon, chili aioli, avocado, and more is mouth-watering delicious.

My boyfriend and I have been to Arch City twice, we love the decor and general atmosphere however that's not enough to sway us to come back. The first experience was awful as far as food goes. Being from GA I was ecstatic to try the shrimp and grits, there were dry. The shrimp was over cooked then to make matters worse I got sick on the way home. Our friend had lamb sliders that were not good and the fries were like biting into a garlic clove. It was pretty late so we chalked it up to the chef just not caring and ready to get out of there. About 6 months later we decided to give it a second try and the service was absolutely terrible. The server forgot everything we told her drinks and food. We didn't get our first drink until 15 mins after sitting down and they were not what we ordered so we had to wait even longer. I had the mushroom burger which was good, a little much on the goat cheese but nothing I couldn't remove. His burger was mediocre. The server rang in his side item wrong after asking twice. If you can't remember things carry a server book or notepad. Needless to say our second experience was no better. I don't foresee us visiting again unless it's for one cocktail then going onto the next location.

We were out for Art Hop in Short North, on a warmish June Saturday, and most places were busy. We stop at Arch City for a drink and stayed for dinner. Its bigger than you think from the street level, it goes way back. We end up near the back, in front of a large mural, done in pencil (2010) of Short North from the 1920's. It is a large mural, maybe 40 feet long by 9 feet high, well done, and I guess one of the highlights of the bar is to take professional photographs of patrons in front of the mural. It's a typical bar, a decent selection of on tap beers a couple of special drinks, based upon the menu there is a decent happy hour offerings. The menu is kind of small, mostly sandwiches and salads. Our food was good, I had the chicken breast sandwich, and the wife had the portobello sandwich. Both were tasty.

Love this place. I went at 4:30 on a Tuesday. Not busy, no loud music. Even when I left at 7:30, it was bustling but not loud or irritatingly so. Decent draft selection to boot! I got the french onion soup and the grilled asparagus and felt they were fairly priced. The french onion soup was awesome - they serve it in a huge onion bowl which was new for me. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the beer, which is always a plus. LOVED the atmosphere and the selection of music they were playing - Naked and Famous, Cold War Kids, Passion Pit... Definitely will be returning.

Very nice bar. Three of us had the Portabella Burger, Amish Chicken Sandwich, and a burger. Everyone loved their meal. Fries, and chips were great, I tried the fried Brussel sprouts, and found them quite good. Excellent beer choices as well. Decor was definitely top notch. Even though we went here as a backup to the over-crowded Melt, we found we did not miss the Melt at all. Have a great meal here.

What a great place. Definitely packed so be prepared to wait a little if you have a bigger party. We got seated very quickly though in about 5minutes when they thought it would be a 20minute wait. the 3 flights which were incredible. The lobster Mac and cheese was okay, not great. But the lamb sliders, arch city burger, and my salmon were cooked beautifully. The prices are right and the service was fun and good. Will be back!

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. It wasn't crowded for a Saturday night in the Short North - or maybe I only hit down town on gallery hop nights and don't realize it. The bartenders were on it, the drinks were great, and crowd was cool. I dig the vibe of the place-due to my situation, I don't see myself leaving Columbus, and when I stumble on "Columbus Pride" places, I feel a little more like home. It's a nice, warm, vibe and display. Haven't tried the food, but this is the kind of place I'd come for after-dinner drinks. It's not loud, the bartender served us pretty quickly, and I ran in to some folks I haven't seen in a long while.

Their Manhattan is made with Watershed Bourbon which is a personal fav of mine so they automatically get 5 stars, but I will never know why it took me so long to go to Arch City Tavern. This place is the perfect spot in the Short North for a good dinner and some strong and delicious drinks. While their drink menu is somewhat large, their food menu is perfectly small. Every dish has a little twist to make it more creative than your average burger, salad or pizza. My favorites on the menu? Definitely their lobster mac n cheese and their lamb sliders with mustard aioli and truffle fries. The atmosphere at Arch City is also great. The table are nicely spaced so it's not too loud and it has a nice warm decor with softer lighting and wooden tables and benches. It's the perfect place to unwind after work with a friend or two. I'm so happy I finally tried this place and I can't wait to go back!

Hooray to Short North for having yet another awesome bar and grill in the area. Arch City, the relatively new kid on the block, is a classier, more intimate atmosphere tucked amongst bars known for being rowdy, divey, and a few that cater to one sex in particular... but I digress. Arch City brings more to the table than great drinks; they have a full menu that includes some seriously awesome dishes such as the Arch City Burger, truffle fries, and FREAKING lobster mac & cheese! Add to that very helpful, attentive, and cool staff and you have a GREAT Short North bar that won't make you lose hearing from overly loud top 40 music, won't make you sweat bullets, and isn't filled with douchebags. This place makes a great date locale as well. This is the kind of place you take a date on a weeknight when you want a setting where you can sit a little ways away from other people and sip on some nice drinks while splitting a good appetizer. Any way you look at it Arch City is a winner and is here in the Short North to stay!

Great atmosphere...Top Notch Food and drinks...Superior Staff...A perfect addition to the Short North. As a regular, I highly recommend this spot for dinner and casual drinks. The atmosphere is amazing no matter what night of the week you're in. Great for meetings & special occasions. The owners are very accommodating no matter what the event is. Definitely recommend the Arch City burger and the wings coupled with one of their Old Fashions or a cold beer. When you stop in make sure you check out the large mural of High St in 1888 on the back wall which was all drawn with pencil.

My experience last night was really bad service wise. I decided to write this post thinking of Short Round from Indiana Jones and Temple of Doom. Remember when Short Round says "Indy I love you" and then burns him with the torch "Wake up Indy!" The bartender/server I had last night needs retrained. And then retrained again. The food was excellent as always. When you're handling someone's credit card make sure the bill is correct. The server I had over charged me and ran my card. He then said if you need anything else that the bar would take care of it. Basically saying I'm off. When I went to look at the breakdown of the bill he had only brought me the merchant copy. WTF kid? When I went up to the bar he was sitting there drinking. I could understand if it were right before close or after they had already closed. I found this to be in very poor taste. 1.) Mess up my bill. (If you can't ring up a check right you're going to have a pretty challenging life) 2.) At least say "Hey man, you're my last table an I was wondering if I could close you out?" 3.) Don't rush me out because it's Miller Time I really hope that this was an outlier of an experience. There are too many good places in the SN to have to deal with poor service. At least the Browns won.

My first trip to Arch City was last Saturday after Italian Fest let out. It was about 11:00, and the place was packed. Luckily, a group of people were just leaving as we were entering and we were able to grab their table. Our server came over immediately and took some drink orders. The table was still a mess, full of half filled (empty?) glasses and dirty food plates. He said he'd get it cleaned up quickly. About 20 minutes later, our beers came out, brought by the girl helping out behind the bar, and none of the previous guest's dirty dishes were removed. We asked her if she could clean our table and she said she would. She removed a couple glasses, but that was it. There were still 3 or 4 dirty plates, and a couple dirty water glasses still on the table. Our actual server came by about 10 minutes later and aplogized. He removed the empty water glasses but left the dirty dishes. He brought us our second order of drinks, and again, didn't clean up the dirty dishes. I then realized that he was the only server who wasn't working behind the bar. Not good scheduling for a Saturday night. So overall, our personal experience was pretty gross, but I'm assuming they were just short handed.

Love the location, vibe, staff, food, and the design...can't go wrong with this local gem:) love to come here when I'm in town, I always feel welcome and can rely on a great meal and drink. Great for happy hour and they now have large open windows for an outside feel. Myself and my out of town friends have to stop in for our burger fix when we are in town-- must try them! Good beer selection and I love the great southern margarita!

Cons: 1. Advertised the wrong specials in their ad in the 614 magazine. 2. Their service is kind of inadequate, one time the waitress asked me to grab my own drink instead of setting it down herself. 3. Asked for a double, charged me for a double and got a single. Pros: 1. Nice location 2. Nice owner

Great happy hour! Half off pizzas and drafts! Their pizzas are divine. I love the Mediterranean with kalamata olives, feta and spinach. Cool atmosphere that captures the spirit of the short north complete with the arch. It's our favorite happy hour spot and starting to catch on.

What a spot! Great atmosphere, with a cmofortably upscae feel. this is the kind of place you can where you can get together with friends for great food, great drinks, and still be able to have a convesation and watch a game. The staff was very friendly, and came through with great suggestions and details on the food and drink. The food was miles beyond what I expected for a relatively "bar" atmosphere. The fries were as good as I've had anywhere, and the accompanying sauces set them off perfectly. The lobster mac and cheese was deliciously creamy and rich, but not overly so. The rest of my party agreed on various other dishes being excellent as well. Beer selection was good, all the bases covered if that's your taste. Mixed drinks, while pricey, were very very good. Worth the cost to try one, but beware, you will probably want more! Their gin and tonic had a wonderful spiced flavor, and even the margarita was different enough to set it apart from what you see anywhere else. The only real drawback here was price, but I can;t say that it's enough to drop my review from 5 down to 4, and it certainly isn't enough to keep me from going back soon!

Great addition to the short north! High quality bar food, good beer selection, great music and a unique atmosphere with local flair. Arch City Burger my favorite, the best burger in the city, i been here few time as a residence of Short North this is a great addition to the neighborhood, great atmosphere, excellent food, lots of great beer selection on draft and bottle, but my favorite is Arch City Old Fashion, with tart cherry juice infused with bullet whiskey, served in a square glass, big square ice cube and fresh cherry. Everything thing on the menu sounds great, but one thing I wand to try is slider board, which has lamb sliders, pot roast, and pork, with bucked of truffle fresh cut fries, it looks great, but I can't eat that much.

I've only been here once, last Friday night, but I feel this place is significantly overrated as a Friday night bar experience. The decor is nice, a fantasy of what Columbus could have been, showing a ridiculously busy Short North at the time of the streetcars (gee, maybe we should get viable mass transit again & then maybe our local businesses would boom like that). However, the identity is inconsistent. The place has huge TVs, showing sports, leering over your conversation no matter where you go. We tried really hard to evade the TVs, but to no avail. And then, it has a jukebox, which is often a good thing -- but not here. The music was horrible and wayyyy too loud all night. If you're going to source your music this way, it really needs to be less dominating. Apart from all of that, my experience was mixed. The food I tried was good -- the burger and the moule frite, with truffle fries -- I recommend some of their aioli as a dipping sauce -- and the price seemed about right for the food. The service was pretty terrible, though. Our server seemed to have no interest in us at all, kept us waiting upwards of 20 minutes for a beer, etc. This is not necessarily a dealbreaker for me on a Friday night, but this place seemed overall pretty generic -- like a copy + paste job of the Pint House -- so altogether I don't think I'd go back. Maybe if they did something to seem more connected to the town, more organic... or if they didn't seem to treat me like crap (yes, I have dreadlocks, but I tip well... geez) then I would be more open to the place.

Feels like Bernard's because of the layout but crowd wise it's like those who have graduated from Bernard's and want better food, more seating, and less people standing shoulder to shoulder bumping into you constantly. Had a glass of wine and a beer here, then succumbed to some truffle fries. Fries are amazing even though I am not a fries person. Damn truffle oil. I would have definitely ordered the lobster macies and cheesies or mussles had I already not ate a late dinner. Good random mix of music. Downside is perhaps overzealous service that verges on desperate (can't tell you how many times the owner(s) approached us and how much our server/waitress checked on us). Also only ONE stall in the women's bathroom. Luckily, this past Saturday night it wasn't super crowded, but once steam picks up and everyone returns from Arnold weekend exile, this will be a major problem for the lassies.

Living right around the corner, I REALLY wanted to love this place. It has great decor with a really amazing mural. However, the food just really isn't that great. Our whole table felt very "eh" about it all. Plus, it was really expensive. We got a $7 salad that someone had to ask if they accidentally gave us the half portion. The cheese pizza was $13. And it was quite mediocre. Unfortunately for Arch City, there's just SO many good places to get food around here. You really have to be pretty top notch. Positives: A decent beer selection, good decor, a nice crowd, friendly staff Negatives: Pricey, mediocre food, bad happy hour, small menu (especially for vegetarians!)

I've stopped in a number of times for drinks, but actually went in for dinner on Friday and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Arch City Burger, and it was outstanding. Maybe I went in expecting average bar food, maybe the burger was just that good. Either way, I loved it. The fries are excellent too. And whatever genius put the parmesan shakers on every table, hats off to you buddy. I don't care that this isn't Italian food, parmesan makes everything better. The owner (I think, or manager... someone in charge of some stuff related to the bar) stopped by, real nice guy, our server was great, and we didn't have to wait long for anything, despite the fact that it was Friday night in the short north. Overall, great experience, definitely somewhere worth checking out.

I was a fan of Havana, the prior establishment at Arch City's location, but Arch City has done a great job and created a nice and pretty classy environment. No more male strippers sadly or drinks with 4x the required vodka. Went for a burger and a beer. Got a pretty damn good burger and beer.

3.5 stars, bumped down to an official 3 stars for the somewhat disappointing food. As previously mentioned, Arch City Tavern has a lot going for it--whoever designed the space really nailed that warm industrial/chic look. I can't really speak to the beer selection as I tend to like my beers translucent and preferably accompanied by fruit, but the food was sadly disappointing. Generally, i imagine the overall success and longevity of a gastropub is 50% food and 50% beer selection with ambiance thrown in there somewhere. This is not the case at Arch City Tavern... yet. I appreciate the simplicity of their menu and was really excited because i LOOOOVE french onion soup. Arch City Tavern's rendition is admirably imaginative (it's served in a giant, hollowed-out onion), but unfortunately, this doesn't make for a very good crock o' soup. The onion bowl (that must be a first) ends up being rather unstable and rather disappointing in terms of capacity. Likewise, one of the best parts of FOS is the crusty cheese that gets baked onto the crock--no such luck with an onion bowl. My wife got the lobster mac 'n' cheese which really seems to have become a staple of gastropub fare. It was decent--the cheese sauce was slightly runny and had tiny bits of crunchy, somewhat raw onions. With some fine-tuning, I have high hopes for Arch City Tavern's future. Given its location and ambiance, this place will do fine.

Amazing experience! Chef Chris prepares imaginative and delicious food. So good the first night we came back for seconds. Soff and Robbie, our bartenders took very good care of us as well. The service here is outstanding. We felt right at home. Well done Arch City! The next time business brings me to Columbus I look forward to seeing you all again.

Love the food and drinks here however tonight was a different night. My boyfriend and I came for dinner and drinks. However I ended up basically eating alone. He simply ordered the arch burger however the wrong burger was brought out. The bartender admitted it was his fault and even mentioned it was due to his "fat fingers"... It wasn't a big deal to us and I shared my salad and shrimp with him until his burger arrived about 10 or so minutes later. Everything was great we loved the good and drinks. However once the bill came the burger was still on there. I asked I fit could be removed since my boyfriend basically ate 1/2 of my food while he waited...I thought I was receive a friendly "sure I'm sorry i meant to take that off since it was my mistAke" instead in received a "what he didn't like the burger" which I thought was extremely rude and made me feel like I did something wrong. The bartender has admitted several times it was in fact his fault and we were totally okay with this but when the check came instead of the burger being removed I was given a hard time. I am not happy about this treatment especially since we live in the short north and frequent this place. I hope that in future the bartender realizes his mistake by removing the item from others bill and not making them feel like jerks for asking. I still tipped on the full bill but definitely shouldn't have after his rude comment.

Checked this out with a group of friends. It's their pre-opening so they just had samples of food to try. Had samples of a burger, mussels, truffle fries, a Margherita pizza and a fig pizza. The fig pizza was a table favorite. Extensive beer list and a pub-style feel similar to Bernard's. A HUGE improvement to the space over how it looked as the previous bar Havana. Service was very nice, accommodating and the owner came around and got feedback on everything. Great experience.

Arch City Tavern is great I love coming here! From the juicy burgers to the savory Belgian mussels all of the food is delicious. And more than 50 craft beers to choose from! I also love that they use local Watershed spirits in their handcrafted cocktails. I will definitely be coming back for more!

Arch City is an awesome addition to the Short North bar and restaurant scene. The food is great (I'm a sucker for the Gallery Burger), there are tons of great beers on tap, and the interior space is awesome. Great view of High Street and even a cool mural of the city! Great, long happy hour with nice deals. This is definitely a place worth checking out regularly.

Came for dinner on a Friday night. Four of the five of us had great food and the beer was excellent. The fifth entree was their fish and chips. The fish smelled fishy and was soggy. When talking with the waiter about it, he just said sorry. Little disappointing.

I've been to Arch City twice now, and I have loved it each time. The decor is amazing, great beer list, interesting cocktails (though not as interesting or well-crafted as Mouton's), but what really keeps bringing me back is the food. I am, admittedly, a pizza snob. In town, I really only get pizza at the Rossi. But, while I love the Rossi, I've had good service and bad service, and it's pricey to have a hit or miss experience. At Arch City, their pizza is every bit as good, if not better. The topping combinations are creative and perfectly implemented. The crust itself is divine. Not only that, but all other food I've sampled has been outstanding, particularly the portobello burger, which is not typically something I rave about in a restaurant. Just like the pizza, it is perfectly designed and seasoned. Obviously, Arch City's chef is more talented than the typical Columbus chef. Both times I've eaten at Arch City, I've had the opportunity to talk to the owner. On our last visit, my husband and I had a long conversation with the owner and were really impressed that he seemed to genuinely care about our opinions and suggestions. This restaurant is a keeper, and I know I'll be a regular.

Remember when Bernard's was for young professionals and not college students? Arch city is following in Bernard's foot steps but encroaching on the short north bar scene. Enjoy it now before it is another current day Bernard's complete with vomit smell, obnoxious patrons and a sticky floor. Will likely become 2 stars soon...

Stopped in late on their soft opening. Good beer selection, friendly staff, good food (truffle fries are awesome), and nice big TV's to watch sports. Definitely an improvement to the neighborhood.

From the moment I walked into this tavern, the experience was superb. You are greeted with an incredibly warm interior surrounded by rich woods, brick, customized woodwork on the bar and tables, a metal replica of the arches representing the short north -- all punctuated with an unparalleled large, pencil mural that depicts high street in the 1800's. (You have to see this if you are an art lover)! The environment easily takes you back in time while you can enjoy the fusion of local and international craft beers, original cocktails (try their Old-Fashioned) with a new twist and a menu that is a modernization of comfort food. Whether it is truffle fries and the Arch City burger or lamb burger, lobster mac & cheese, fish and home-made chips or fig pizza - they deliver on taste! The food was a nice surprise with this upscale tavern. They stay true to being a tavern by offering both music and/or TV's for the sports fans and they pay attention to the clientele of the moment. The service and staff were as pleasing as the food and environment. The team at Arch City makes it clear they want to be a part of your having a great all-round experience.

Great happy hour! Half off pizzas and drafts! Their pizzas are divine. I love the Mediterranean with kalamata olives, feta and spinach. Cool atmosphere that captures the spirit of the short north complete with the arch. It's our favorite happy hour spot and starting to catch on.

This is my favorite date spot. It turns into a bar at night so prepare for that but it's fun and cool and the food is so so good. Also they are quick with the service which is always fantastic

Great addition to the short north! High quality bar food, good beer selection, great music and a unique atmosphere with local flair. Friendly staff, the owner oversees the quality of experience for every customer. Perfect place for anyone looking for a spot to watch a game and eat and drink with a good crowd.

Nice owner

Grabbed a beer, window seat and ordered the fig and arugula pizza. Excellent happy hour spot. Pizza was fantastic.

Progressively worse each visit. The ENTIRE place smells like dirty toilet water in my last two visits. The cocktails have gone from a signature item to a disastrous concoction of ingredients. I can't go there anymore and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Always amazing. Need I say more? Ok, I will. Quality upscale American food. Hip and happening atmosphere, great service, always worth parking in the short north!
