It's a dive, set your expectations as such and you'll be all set. The crowd varies from 2-3 regulars to 100 twenty somethings depending when you go. Great beer specials, especially during happy hour. If the kitchen is open, get the cheesy bites or the chicken wings, both are great. It's not the cleanest place, but it's comfortable.

The E... it's essentially the same bar it was fifteen years ago. A very comfortable place to get a few reasonably priced drinks and a bite to eat. Nice people working and drinking here. Clean bathrooms. Great porch out back. Golden Tee. The beer glasses are kept in a freezer. Love this place! Only real problem can be parking. It's all street parking and there are two bars right next to each other.

OK it's authentic, I'll give it that. Used to live on the adjacent street and it was an ok joint back in the day, however it hasn't improved with age. I have to say unfortunately, it's a dive bar now. Scene one: watching the NCAA's and unable to hear because the 5 large dudes in t's and bandanas behind us are playing the Golden Tee golf arcade game so loudly we can't even talk with one another. (Their incessant f-bombs are also mildly distracting.) Scene two: I look around the bar and try hard, but see nothing whatsoever that is worthy of my dollars being relinquished here. There are dirty windows and doors, very small space to maneuver, nothing noteworthy; 2 TV's, decent size, above back bar. I go into the bathroom and its appearance matches the awesome stench. I remember thinking to myself, kudos for this stench, it's been a long time since I smelled a bathroom this bad, this is a stench usually reserved for lonesome truckstops and horrific dives. I had to respect the stench of the Men's restroom at The Establishment last week! I retreat and determine that one beer is perfect for me and it's time to hustle on up the road. Bottom line: If you like elbowing your way through a clan of ne'er-do-wells, or yelling above same while trying to carve out a slice of miniscule bar space for yourself, this may be your place. I knew I wasn't in for a memorable experience but this was so forgettable that 30 minutes into my meetup with a couple buddies I looked at them and inquired, um, why did you choose this place? Literally asked my buds this question, verbatim. Response: the food is pretty good. I will have to take their word for that. So many good to excellent choices in The Rookwood Center, on Oakley Square and Hyde Park Square (not to mention the Irish joint right next door), I can't quite understand how it's still open. Beer selection ok but def not great. They need to step up their game.

A nice little dive bar in the heart of over-priced bar central (Hyde Park). The drinks are strong and reasonably priced and staff are generally friendly. The bar is simply just a dive bar with nothing special about the atmosphere or decor. The food is pretty stand out... A friend swears by their grilled cheese. I had an excellent Reuben. The chicken sandwich was a little dry. In the future, I would add on french fries instead of just the chips. Definitely someplace I would return to, but not special enough that I would become a regular.

great dive bar! could use a lil TLC, but all in all, a great spot to have some fair priced beers, silky smooth shots, and great wings!! not to mention their grilled cheese, which for lack of better words, is Epic!! The staff is very friendly and personable (except for the angry cook) and the feel of the place is very Cheers-esk. I've been a regular since I moved into the area. weekends get a little crowded, but no worse than anywhere else. No annoying karaoke or depressing acoustic guitarists playing some questionable renditions of classic covers either. all in all, it's a good little pub with good people, cold beers, and a laid back atmosphere. See ya there!

Great little bar tucked away in Hyde Park with cheap beer! Friendly staff. Colleagues and I dropped by for a couple beers on a Friday afternoon and had a great time. Highly recommend!

I've been on a quest of late to find a bar that I can call...well not home because that would imply that I am an alcoholic. Let's go with a bar that I can just refer to as "the bar" and my friends will know which bar I mean. The Establishment IS NOT IT. Ugh. It was filled with mid to late twenty somethings and while I am a member of this demographic, it seemed like the people there were trying to relive their college days. Obnoxious "bro" behavior is not something I am looking for. It's not like I want to sit around pontificating on the intricacies of the universe while sipping a snifter of cognac. I'd just like to have a place to sit with some friends, have a beer or glass of wine, and relax. If you want to skeeve on young women or date a member of Ohio's equivalent to the Jersey Shore, The Establishment is for you. Otherwise, stay far, far away.

This bar has a lot of potential... but I would recommend going any where else. The bartender spent more time on her phone than helping us. The shots we received were not the shots we ordered... and we had to ask for our tab five times before we got it. We actually waved our arms at her as she walked pass us. When we handed her our order for food the cook walked by and said "Where are you going bitch?" to the bartender as she rounded the corner with our order. Absolutely terrible service. OH and we never actually got a receipt for or tab; she just ran our card and said "See yah."
