This is a really good place to eat. The owner A.J. Is a good guy. The heat scale used to be terribly off, but I think they may have fixed that now. I love spicy food, but even ordering the lowest of their heat scale used to shoot flames through my insides, but this most recent time, a 2 was actually pretty great and I may be brave enough to try moving that up again with my next order. Love that they deliver! Just be sure to order ahead if time because you'll be left waiting a while if your starving already. Picking it up or sitting in are nice alternatives too

Summary: Taj Mahal is fine for a lunch Indian buffet. Though, with several other Indian buffets within a 5 mile radius that have a wider selection and much of the same food, I'm not sure I'd deliberately come here other than for convenience. Taj Mahal sits across the street from the strip mall with Kroger and Chipotle in Finneytown. The buffet selection is smaller than other comparable lunch buffets, but still decently made. The restaurant is furnished very simply, but kept clean. I was miffed that the naans were cold and limp, an indication that they've been sitting around a bit. I can't say that that any of the dishes available: saag paneer, chicken tikka marsala, chicken tandoori, etc. stood out. I think the best way wrap this up is to say - you're probably visiting this location because it is convenient, and you'll get the type of Indian food you were expecting to get.

Taj Mahal has been a great indian food on the northern side of Cincinnati for over 10 years. I've been coming here since they had a restaurant in Springdale and have since moved to Finneytown. Always friendly, fast, and good prices. Can't say enough about this family operation. Been doing a great job for years.

Its a decent buffet. It's kind of small but the food was well made. It seems popular. There were people coming in and out of it for lunch the whole time I was there. I would like to give it a higher review but there are a lot of buffets I would go to first.

The first time I went here for lunch buffet it was not great but it was late. The next time it was awesome! Everything was very fresh and flavorful. They have very good tandoori chicken. I went two days in a row it was so good. The naan bread was fluffy and the vegetarian dishes are good too. Try the raita on everything! Very good for Sunday and Monday when other places are closed.

We used to frequent the Springdale location and were surprised to find them again after a year's absence. The location and decor are not as nice but the food is still great!

3.5 stars, really. We've been here for sit-down dinner once, and ordered takeout another time. It's nice to have decent, convenient Indian food so close to where we live. It appears to be family-owned, and service is super friendly. Our fave dish, chicken tikka masala, is quite good, though a bit on the creamy side. Great garlic naan.

Love the food here. They are now located in Finneytown, which is GREAT because we are now close enough that they deliver!! It's very good stuff and they deliver. I'd give them five stars, but the food doesn't really taste extraordinary. I mean... it's good and it's fantastic that they deliver. Ah heck, just increased my rating from a three to a four! :) I want Indian NOW! I'm in Omaha now... what am I going to do?!?!?!

Food is excellent. Lamb Vindaloo and Aloo Saag are exquisite. We live close by and take full advantage of the delivery option - it's a great treat for us. The restaurant itself is very Spartan - not that impressive - but we love the food.

I went there to try the buffet. I was well worth it. The food was great. I was able to taste all the flavors, and they did not cut back on the meat. My only complaint was the rice was just plain white rice, no cumin seeds or anything else. I tried everything on the buffet and enjoyed it all. The atmosphere is like on of those old corner places with the old pictures on the wall. The staff was very helpful and nice. They offered delivery to wide area, and we will be trying it out very soon.

Super tasty. So glad they deliver! Ever since I moved further away from the multitude of Indian restaurants in Northside, I had been so Indian-deprived. Then I discovered Taj Mahal! Their food's awesome, their service is excellent, their prices are comparable, and they're always prompt with wonderful food at my door. We love them!

Super fast delivery, and the girl on the phone said we're right at the edge of their delivery area. We both got chicken tikka masala, and an order of kashmiri nan and garlic nan. All of it was amazing. Enough food for lunch the next day and with tip it was around 30 bucks. We'll definitely be ordering again.

I love this place. I used to think all the good Indian restaurants were in Clifton. I was wrong. They've got a great buffet. Their saag and chicken tikka masala are awesome. The staff is so helpful and nice. I've never had a bad experience here that was bad. Give it a try! I hope to try some of their indo Chinese menu soon.

It's small, it's quiet, the staff is friendly, the food can be described in this manner,......rapture!

Taj Mahal is a wonderful family-owned restaurant in Finneytown, Ohio. The food is fantastic and they have spice levels from one to ten, so they cater nicely to any tongue. The portions are reasonable and plenty for the money. They have seating but this is not a restaurant known for its atmosphere, but it is fine for casual dining. I am thrilled that they have a no-alcohol policy there. And they tend to remember faces and what people like to order very well.

We just moved nearby, and decided to give them a shot. We ordered pakora, saag paneer, tikka masala, nan, bhatura, and kheer. Without a doubt this is the worst we've had in the city. The rice tasted old and was stiff as if it was refrigerated. The pakora was rubberized and barely edible, both main dishes we ordered spice level 2, and the tikka masala was a 7/8 level, neither kid would eat it. The saag was okay and average and both the breads were good and what we expected. The biggest disappointment was the kheer, it was no where even near what it should be, merely flavored milk and a couple grains of rice. Do these guys even know how to cook Indian food? I don't think we will be ordering again and will make the extra drive elsewhere.

The staff offers great customer service. The food is fantastic. I have enjoyed every item I've tasted on the menu. I am very picky about the quality of Indian food and was excited to find this place closer to home.

Formerly located in Springdale next to Outback Steakhouse on Route 4, Taj Mahal (according to its owner) moved to Finneytown to take advantage of lower rent costs. And apparently to take advantage of bar-goers alike, seeing as it is located in a strip center the same as a pub where I've seen the owner. Hey, I'm not complaining. Otherwise, I don't know I'd have known about the place. (That says a lot about the customer service, which has always been really good in my experience.) I always get the same thing from every Indian restaurant, and my tryst with Taj Mahal was no different. I got the Mater Paneer. The cheese wasn't quite as fresh as at other Indian places, but it was still pretty good. The sauce was great. My only real complaint with this particular dish was the texture of the peas. I was unimpressed. The Naan, though, yum. I have absolutely zero complaints about the naan. It was delicious. Taj Mahal is currently located in a strip mall in a pretty small space, but it works for carryout orders especially. I wouldn't expect a lovely interior in this particular establishment and in this building, but they also have a buffet option for people who would like to try more than one dish for lunch. It should be noted that they also deliver, which is pretty great. This particular Indian food definitely is not some of the better Indian that I've had, but I will say that it is truly a gift to have it finally available near home (previously, I'd have to drive a good 10 minutes to satiate my need for decent Indian fare). While I probably wouldn't choose to get this over one of my other favored Indian joints, it works just perfectly as someplace convenient to home.

Tried the lunch buffet yesterday. Food was great. Lots of good spices and selection. Family run restaurant - very nice and friendly folks. Nice to have over in this part of town. If you like Indian food you do not want to miss this place.

This is the closest Indian restaurant to my house, and it has good paneer, so for that alone, it gets four stars. I have not actually been here outside of driving past it; we got delivery the first time (free with a $12 order) and my husband went in to pick up a carry-out order the second. I asked him to give me the full scoop, and he reported that it was clean and the staff were friendly, but it didn't have the most high-end finishes. He glanced at the buffet and reported that it looked like your typical spread laid out in an L-shape. We got the tried and true Paneer Makhanni and decided to try the Paneer Tikka this time, which was decidedly much too spicy for my delicate tastes. We also tried the Kashmiri Naan after seeing it mentioned in one of the reviews. Not bad! Only two relatively small issues - 1) we always end up with more rice than we need, which isn't that awful of a thing and 2) the Gulab Jamun was just awful. They came in a little plastic bowl. Usually they are served in a syrup, which helps to retain the warmth and flavor. Our dessert was cold, and the only way I could think to describe them is they tasted like stale donut holes.

Excellent Indian food but the place is a little dumpy. If you can get past the atmosphere it is truly worth visiting. Very nice and helpful servers and the owner is a gem. Definitely among the best Indian food I've had in cincinnati. And they deliver!

The Good: Huge menu, 5 star service, extremely friendly staff, convenient location, delivers The Bad: Mediocre to average food. Ordered 4 different dishes with rice, non, and samosas. The rice was slightly crunchy, food overall kind of bland, and the chutney (brown dipping sauce for the samosa) was very watered down Verdict: It's worth the extra effort to drive to Clifton for better tasting and better quality food especially since the price points are equivalent but I'd still go back on lazy days.

Family run business with delicious food, reasonable prices, and large portions. The environment leaves a little to be desired, but it's clean, and we enjoyed the Indian music videos. For strip mall Indian food, it's great. We'll definitely be back.

I love this place. The flavor of the food is second to none. I have eaten at all of the Indian restaurants in the city, Clifton, Montgomery, Sharonville, and this is my favorite. The curry chicken has a very distinct flavor. The chicken tikka masala is amazing too and all the different breads are fantastic. Garlic naan being my fav. The staff is very friendly. Have eaten there over 20 times and every time it is great. Now everyone at my work is wanting and eating it too. Do yourself and your tummy a favor and go get some Taj Mahal.

What a delicious find. I'd been familiar with Taj Mahal from having visited their other locations, and I'm not sure if it's the proximity of their new location to my home that made it tastier or what, but I couldn't stop saying "YUM this is so good" as we devoured our Chicken Makhani and Saag Paneer. Both were just creamy enough (sometimes other cream-based Indian dishes can be too creamy, not theirs), spiced just right according to our request, flavorful, and good-sized portions. The staff is super friendly; we're so glad to have Taj Mahal in the neighborhood!

This Indian food place is delicious! Really good for carryout or delivery. Eating in was good too, but if you have to use the bathroom it is behind the kitchen and yick! I haven't tried the buffet yet but it looks good!
