I hadn't eaten at a Skyline Chili for years, before eating at the one in Walnut Hills before a Red's game. So, one night when the BF and I were hungry, we decided to go to the Skyline that is close to home. I had forgotten all about it, since Skyline is not someplace I frequent. When I used to eat at Skyline more often, I would get the black beans & rice or a black bean burrito, but now they have vegetarian three ways, so that is my new go to item. Eating at Skyline reminds me of my childhood, because that is one of the places we used to go to "eat out." Plus, who doesn't love the little bowl of oyster crackers? It was late on a Saturday night when we went to Skyline. There was a decent amount of diners, but still plenty of room to find a seat. Service was prompt, including the food coming hot quickly. I like how the server asks if you would like a refill in a "to go" cup. That's a nice touch. I forgot how good and relatively inexpensive it was to eat at Skyline,, so we will definitely be back. The Montgomery Skyline is in a convenient location, provided you don't have to make a lefthand turn. If traffic isn't heavy, it's not a problem, but when it's busy on Montgomery Road, right turns are your friend.

unattentive people....pitiful portions on Greek salads certainly not up to Skyline standards that I am used to

I may be coming at this from an "outsiders" point of view since I only get this treat once or twice per year since I do not live here but it is a MUST when I am in the area. Great food and had a great experience at this location with the staff that waited on us. I would bet that the service at any given place could differ from time to time but the food here was just as good as the last time that I had it.

I have never written a review before, but the experience we had last night I just had to share and does not even deserve the one star I am forced to give. We had been visiting my brother in law in the ICU at Bethesda North Hospital. It was late and we needed dinner and settled on something quick and easy at the Montgomery Skyline. We arrived around 8:45, they closed at 9, told them we had 6 people and could they serve us, we were all arriving in different cars coming from the hospital. 5 of us were seated and ordered drinks and our food. When the last of our party arrived a few minutes after 9 they said they wouldnt serve her! They were still in the process of making our food, it would have taken them 30 seconds to take her order and through some chili on a plate for her. Instead the man in charge, Bubba, loudly argued with my father in front of at least one other table of guests. Bubba said he was only doing what his manager had told him to do and asked my father if he had ever worked in a restaurant and that his employees were all waiting to go home. I have worked in restaurants, for decades, and this is not how you treat customers. Even if she was coming in at 9:02, with the rest of the party already seated, and ordering a rack of lamb you suck it up and serve them what they want. Your business is about making your customers happy, no matter what. We packed up all of our food, paid the bill and left. I will never return to this Skyline, which I grew up going to. Before this incident even happened I had noticed how gross and out dated this restaurant was. Unacceptable way to treat customers, I have never experienced anything like this before.

I love the food at skyline. The service at this location is quite good. The staff is extremely friendly and management is very involved always checking to make sure my experience is the best it can be. I really appreciate the quality food and service and can highly recommend this location to anyone in the area.

Skyline is always a hometown favorite of mine and a must get when I come back into Cincinnati. The service is typically good and really fast. The food comes out quickly and is always made right. I suggest getting a 4-way with onion and two cheese coneys all the way. I don't know why either, but even the oyster crackers taste good to me at this place. I like to wash it down with a diet Dr. Pepper or a Mountain Dew. Expect good food at a good price. Oh yeah...if you're a first timer...wear the bib.

Not the best Skyline in Cincinnati, but it's Skyline! You just cannot go wrong with a Cincinnati tradition.

I have been going to this skyline for years and I haven't had that bad of a experience . I have gotten to know some workers like the manager Bubba and hes awesome . The only reason I didn't give a higher rating is cause they lack ingrediants to the food like chilli in the coneys and the hours I wish it was later like others in the area cause some go till 2 AM

Skyline is pretty hard to screw up, right? Put the chili on a hot dog or spaghetti or wrap or bun. I had chili in a bowl. That was fine, of course. They couldn't do anything bad to the bowl. But the cheesy fries were inedible. Hence, the low rating. I have nothing against Skyline, but this place managed to do a bad job.

Anyone who has lived in Cincinnati or simply has visited knows all about Skyline Chili. Cheese Coney, 3-Way...duh I love Skyline as a Cincinnati tradition and I always make a point of stopping in when I'm home from college on a break. The food is usually good although I can only have it every so often or I'll get sick of it, unlike many Cincinnatians who can have it every day and still love it. I've probably been to six or seven different locations here in Cincinnati, but the one I most often go to is the Montgomery one near Eddie Merlot's and I-275. Until its renovation a few years ago, the Montgomery Skyline wasn't that nice inside, but it was always a popular place to go for a bite to eat. Everyone liked the food and everyone liked the service. In Cincinnati, it's not about a Skyline restaurant being nice or new, it's just about...Skyline. The difference between the Montgomery Skyline and many others, though, is that it's not just a restaurant that serves Skyline food, but it's actually like a local hangout. If you go to or went to Sycamore High School, chances are you've been to Skyline on a Friday night after attending a home or away football game. It's open until about 11 on Fridays and although it's packed, it's always the place to be for both the students who watched from the stands and some of the players. Even on non-game days, area teenaged kids frequent this Skyline and most of the kids working go to Sycamore, Ursuline, or Moeller. While plenty of adults and families go too, it's still always been more than just a Skyline Chili restaurant to Sycamore kids, even if you only went once after a football game. Even though the restaurant is now physically nicer and has a pair of flat-screen televisions since its renovation and new ownership, nothing else has changed. The Montgomery Skyline still has terrific food, very quick service, and it's just a great time for people of all ages.

Part of the Skyline experience is the atmosphere. The older locations typically have better service and character. My daughter and I drive past 2 other Skylines for the service and cleanliness of Montgomery Road location. This location provides very good and friendly service. For those doubtful of greek style chili, remember you must try several times and then you will love!

If you've heard about Cincinnati Chili, as I have, and wondered what all of the hoo-ha is about, 2-way, 3-way etc. You gotta try it should you somehow find yourself in Cincinnati. Skyline is all over Cincinnati. Cincinnati Chili is one of my daughter-in-law's favorite comfort foods and she is a trained chef. Chili is one of the basic food groups to me. I've cooked in four big-time chili cook offs and will even put the canned stuff on a hot dog or fries when I'm having a chili dog/fry Jones. It's eh, different, not great. Not bad. Just different. Try it, you may like it. At least, if nothing else, you can strike it from your Bucket List.

WOW!! This place is Horrible!! Really Cincinnati ?!?! This is the dish you want to put your name on !?!?! I know there are different camps of chili lovers, those who say no to beans or maybe no to meat but a chili that taste like it is made with neither ?? Now I don't pretend to know what goes into their secret chili but I can tell you what i taste....cardboard with a hint of cinnamon! Thats it !! Oh and to make it some how better lets throw it on top of some poorly cooked plain boiled pasta!! Oh and lets not forget about the cheese! Its neon color may suggest flavor but they must get the lowest grade cheddar available for human consumption because it tasted like neon orange wax. I really hope this is not as good as it gets in Cincinnati, Brown prisoner rations over boiled pasta with neon orange wax topping. Oops forgot to comment on the raw onions....its raw onions....

Very interesting chili.........coming from upstate NY I am used to chili with beans and chunks of veggies and meat.....this is strictly ground beef with a different kind of taste. I won't say exactly what I taste, I will leave that up to you to figure out. 3 way.....4 way.......I think 5 way is the way to go........and who can resist the HUGE piles of cheese on top of everything!! They even serve this unique chili and cheese on top of spaghetti. It's definitely a cool Cincinnati comfort food to try.

Since I was born and raised in Texas, I'd like to think I know a thing or two about chili...and sorry Cincinnati, this is not chili. I am being generous with the three stars because the service was prompt and friendly. Also I am giving an extra star for the creative minds that thought up putting chili on spaghetti noodles. The chili is decent, but honestly I left extremely disappointed and am not buying into the hype...

I miss Skyline Chili ! I moved from Cincinnati, Ohio nine years ago. Every time i return to visit, my first stop is the Skyline in Montgomery. Best one in town by far. They're ALL good because they ALL serve Cheese Coneys but I believe these are the best. I was in town a few weeks ago and I consumed sixteen coneys in a span of 24 hours....it was fantastic
