I LOVE the North College Hill bakery! I've been a customer since I was a kid and have never been disappointed! I went away for college and work & hadn't been in for years but one of the women remembered me and it made my day!! Everything is delicious! Always so fresh! My favorite are the glazed donuts. So simple yet so good! Just the right amount of glaze on the donuts, soft and chewy and so delicious! Every time I go I get at least three. I also love their coffee cakes. So rich and good. This is a small place that gets crowded but don't let that intimidate you! It's worth the wait! It's nice to have a real, hometown bakery in Cincinnati! If you haven't been, come on down to my hometown of North College Hill & I promise you won't be disappointed!

It's so nice to have a neighborhood bakery like this ACTUALLY in the neighborhood. It can get busy here, because it's just that popular, but the ladies who work up front for the men who do the baking in the back are quick and efficient. If you're lucky enough to hit a lull in customers, you'll get to chit chat a bit with the otherwise all-business "servers". They are fun and funny and make it always a great place to return for a donut or pastry or bread or pie or you name it. If you're in the area (or even if you're not) stop in for an elephant ear or bear claw. You won't be disappointed.

I've been going to this place for years and every time I always order too much! The donuts are delish and so are the pastries. I love supporting the local business especially when they make such good eats! They bake bread loaves, cup cakes, doughnuts, cookies, wedding cakes and a plethora of other confections. They are super affordable and the wait is almost unbelievable. You get in, you get out. Battaboom-Battabing! It's a small shop and you walk on one door and out of another. The set up is perfect. It's not trendy so don't expect wifi and table or any of the fluff. It's all about being a bakery and that's why I love it! If you haven't gone please do, I'm sure you will find something to feed that sweet tooth of yours! I know I always do!

Best bakery I've tried in Cincy. Great bread! Best hamburger buns you'll ever have! Their signature Tea Cookies are amazing! They make it all fresh daily and they make it all so, so well. If you're in the neighborhood do yourself a flavor and stop in here.

Tasty baked goods. Drawback, worst customer service. Owner is always smiling, however most of the help is rude.

after trying allllllllll the local bakeries I could find in Colerain and Northside, I made the trip to NCH...What a find! The coffee cakes are delicious, the prices are great and the women that work there so friendly. Definitely a not to miss stop

It is not a fluke that this little place scores higher than bonbonnerie. Everything is excellent: the coffee cakes, dinner rolls, and hamburger buns are especially good. Lots of Cincinnatians in the know make a trip here once or twice a month to stock up on the good stuff that's been lost since Kroger, Meier, et al have started "bakeries" in store. The place doesn't put on airs; the cakes aren't artistically rendered, but everything is fresh and delicious.

Hands down the best bakery around. I refuse to get cake, cookies, danish, etc. from any other bakery. My grandmother has been going to this bakery for decades. Obviously the bakery has stood the test of time for a good reason

Grew up enjoying NCH Bakery goods, as did my parents and grandparents. This is the only place if you truly love great bakery goods....the only place.

I had a big Mardi Gras party this weekend and was in need of a King Cake to help celebrate. I had heard that the bakery in NCH was able to accommodate this need and since it's real near by I stopped in last Tuesday. The customer area is a bit cramped so it can be a bit awkward during busy times at the bakery, but the staff is absolutely as sweet as can be, as was my King Cake. Placing my order for Friday was not a problem. I got a large King Cake and was able to choose from a variety of fillings for the cake including but not limited to: Cinnamon, Apricot, Strawberry, and Almond. They had two small King Cakes in store: one with Strawberry and one with Cinnamon filling. I decided to go out on a limb and get the Apricot filling. All told, the cake cost around $24. I picked up a truly beautiful work of art on Friday. I will take this time out to mention that the baby Jesus was outside of the cake, so I had to hide it inside on my own. I think they do this as a safety precaution, but if you're expecting one baked into the cake you need to know this ahead of time. This cake was an absolute hit at the party. I've had several parties, birthdays and other, and this is the first time I've had absolutely no leftovers of the cake at the end of the night. It was plenty big and everyone was able to get a piece, but people kept going back for seconds and more. Apricot was an excellent choice, and so is the North College Hill Bake Shop.

This place is legendary. My grandparents moved to North College Hill and so as a young girl, I fell in love with this bakery. Their tea cookies area treat I make sure I get everytime I go back home to Cincinnati. Their glazed doughnuts are also divine. I literally have nothing bad to say about this place. Incredibly kind staff, delicious treats and good atmosphere (this place is ALWAYS busy!). Top notch.

I go into this bakery a couple times a month and have never had a bad experience. It is one of the only places left in the city that is a true downhome mom and pop spot! The culture in the store is wonderful, its a place where you feel like you are in a community. The homeade breads are soft delectable and a chunk of americana. The donuts are always moist and sugary. There is always a new treat waiting whenever I have came in. This little place is worth a good 40 minute drive where ever you are in the city. Prices are about the same as a kroger's bakery but the sweets are so much better!

I'm not sure how a neighborhood bakery rises (pardon the pun) to citywide fame (especially in a town with two well-established chain bakeries: Graeter's and Busken), but I'm sure that making darned good doughs is a big part of it. First, the dinner rolls. The yellowness of the interior betrays that these are made with real butter, so you're already expecting the smooth, moist flavor, and still it amazes you. There aren't many buns out there that don't need fillings, and even fewer that are so flavorful they can even stand up to barbecue and still be tasted. Next, the cinnamon swirl loaf. A perfect log, what with its long cylinder and thick bark of cinnamon sugar on the outside. The inside has the same buttery color, only ornamented with a swirl of cinnamon. Using this to make French toast would win any cooking competition, ever. Fortunately, the intense fandom for these items has gotten the bakery to distribute their decadence at other local shops. I'm not sure how broadly they go, but it's worth a trip to their store simply to smell the splendor (but never Splenda) and sample the other delicacies (fresh danishes in the morning are worth the drive alone. and the early reveille.)
