Called in a lunch order yesterday and was told it would be about 10 to 15 minutes. Got there in 12 minutes (food was ready), found plenty of parking spots (to my surprise) walked in and paid and was on my way. Super quick and easy and the bartender who gave me my food was extremely nice (thanked me and called me by my first name... A rarity! Got back to work and ate my food and it was delicious. I'll definitely be placing more orders for lunch with this establishment!

I was really looking forward to exploring Mt. Adams Bar & Grill but was let down. It took 20 minutes to get my first beverage, the nachos were just crumbled chips with a sad side of cheese and salsa and our food took an hour after ordering. The service was subpar and after explaining to our server that our food was cold and we didn't want to eat it, while also leveling with her that it wasn't her fault, she got real shitty real quick. Given, it was a busy day but if you cannot handle business then you shouldn't be in business. The decor and location of the restaurant is superb but I wouldn't go there to eat after this experience. Drinking at the bar seems to be the way to go.

The menu at this bar seemed to be trying to be something it is not. The place has great potential but the food was just OK. The menu is more geared to a cafe. Lots of sandwiches and salads. The fried ravioli were good. The Broadcast burger was interesting and fairly good. The chicken buddies were not good at all. It was not well seasoned or prepared. Soggy texture and not trimmed. Gross. The fries and sweet potato fries were ok. Won't be coming back here soon.

Best place to grab a meal in Mt. Adams. Service is a lot friendly than others on St. Gregory, not the fastest over lunch, but definitely the most welcoming. Environment is warm, cozy, and clean. Their Mexican Chicken Salad and California Club are my favorite go-tos but their burger and fries are great too. They do an awesome job with to-go orders--everything is always packaged perfectly and I have never had an order wrong in the 4 years I've been getting take-out.

I've been here a couple of times, and every time I want it to be better than it is. The food is just average, but the servers/bartenders are nice and the place itself is full of history. Note: the chicken buddies on the appetizer menu are delish! I'd say that this would be a good place to take someone new in town/visiting for a lunch date. It's a great area and a fun part of the history of mt. adams, but due to the area's difficult parking and such, MAB&G is not something I would go out of my way for.

The service is amazing and the food is top notch. The jalapeño ravioli is a must try. Go Monday-Wednesday before 7 for happy hour. If you enjoy craft beers, they do have a selection available. For vegetarians or pescetarians there is food for you here and it tastes great. It is a good place for a date or to go with a group of friends

I was really disappointed. I went here for dinner and drinks for a friend's birthday, and both were a let down. As an appetizer the group ordered the banger sandwiches. We were already tipped off that they weren't actual bangers since the menu specified that they use Italian sausage. They came in bits of croissant. As the 6 size serving option, they didn't even use 2 sausage links since each serving had a quarter of a sausage. Couldn't believe they were $8. I then ordered the Greek salad with dressing on the side. Good thing because I wasn't expecting balsamic vinegar! My salad was also missing ingredients. As a medium sized salad with small scoops of hummus and tabouli and half a pita, I couldn't believe they charged $10 for this signature dish. You could add chicken but for $4!!! At least the hummus and tabouli tasted good. For a drink I ordered the Milk Chocolate Martini. I was especially interested in that because it was supposed to have vanilla ice cream. While I expected a creamy drink, I got a strong martini with chunks of ice. Finally the serving staff only seemed to be around in the beginning and when she kept asking if we'd like to order more things. We waited over 5 minutes originally to order food and there was only one other table there. Advice: stick to beers and burgers here. You might get better service at the bar.

Went here on a Saturday for dinner and had an awesome meal! We each had homemade soups and they were amazing!! For dinner I got the vegetarian burger and my friend got a burger. Both were fresh and delicious! Our waiter was also very helpful and loved to talk. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting cincinnati.

Aahhh an old favorite of mine! As a resident of Mt. Adams, this is a staple for those days where you're like "I don't know what I want for dinner but I definitely want something good..." The sandwiches are so good! I would highly recommend the tuna melt paired with a side of fries and their jalapeño cheese sauce - my mouth is watering just writing this review! The selection of craft beers is pretty good as well and it's very central to everything else in Mt. Adams. So take a stroll and check out Bar & Grill!

I love Mt. Adams it's such a wonderful place with wonderful bars and restaurants. That said, I don't live here, but the four times I have been here I get 'tude...bare in mind, I am not stumblina drunk or bringing 15 people in tow, it's just me. My most recent excursion here was wrought with frowns, slow service and what I took as "get out of here" attitude. Love the neighborhood, but I think I will take my business up the street.

Waited 90 minutes for very subpar food that does not resemble anything Irish. The token Reuben is supposed to make up for it. Slow service. Half hour breaks between drink refills requests. Will not come here again. Was not even crowded.

The Mount Adams Bar and Grill is a capable contender for best, casual American food on the hill. I lived the life of a bachelor for a season in Mt. Adams, and often found myself ordering from here when I was too lazy to cook. The restaurant's interior looks like most Irish-esque pubs but manages to pull off style and personality rather than kitsch. Part of its charm is the location, on the top of the hill. The other part is that the dining area is partitioned into three smaller spaces, promoting an intimacy that isn't normally felt in otherwise loud pubs. The building's history -- it was formerly a speakeasy during prohibition and received Ohio's first alcohol license post-prohibition -- lends even further authenticity to the current restaurant. You can almost taste the belligerent, alcoholic ghosts in the air. Its menu is diverse, catering to all tastes. I prefer the Turkey Reuben and the Famous Burger (basically, their regular burger with salsa). The food quality isn't particularly noteworthy and I've ordered frequently enough that I can say that there are sporadic instances when the food is poorly-prepared. But, on a whole, the Bar & Grill's fare is hearty and tasty enough. Although I love Mt. Adams Bar & Grill, there are handful of other restaurants to try if you're not a Mt. Adams resident. If you live in the area, this restaurant can definitely be a spot you visit regularly.

Came in for St Patty's Day lunch before heading out on the town. I had the fried fish sandwich and my friend had the grilled mahi. I have to say I loved her sandwich and mine was just okay. My fried sandwich came on toasted bread while my friends came on a bun and my fish was very thin... I was hoping for a thick piece of fish. I also didn't like the breading on my sandwich. Came back a couple weeks later and fell in love with the chicken buddies. I should have tried the chicken sandwich the first visit. My drink on St Patty's Day was a Jameson and Ginger. Although an extremely basic highball, I watched her pour the drink and was very pleased with my pour. Specialty drink menu could be improved on. I have heard they are known for their burgers, I will be back to try one of those out!

In from CA visiting family. Love, love, love Mt. Adams. The burgers and some of the beers are good. After five visits, come for the burgers. As a past chef, I could have turned the place into a 5 star bar & grill. All else is faire-2-midland. Love the decor. Feels cozy. Do you have to be a diehard Republican, hunter, or fisherman to belong here? Service very nice. Will return for a drink at the bar.

Good place to stop for a quick salad or burger at lunch. Today we shared a slice of homemade apple pie that was excellent! Great atmosphere, quick service, friendly staff.

Great food, laid back service, and an awesome atmosphere. Portions are more lunch-sized, which was perfect for us but might leave those with a larger appetite feeling a bit hungry. Nice selection of craft beer.

Such a waste of opportunity! Lovely interior, several rooms, each one slightly different, amazing wooden bar, lots of old authentic stuff, and an interesting history involving love, money and crime! And it is all for nothing, cause the food is just bad. Below average quality, with above average price tags. Such a shame....

Stopped in this evening after waking around Eden park. Since it was later in the evening on week might it wasn't crowded at all. I ended up getting the Clubhouse sandwich and it was just right. Service was prompt and food served promptly also (it was pretty empty). I can see stopping back when in the area again. My friend got one of their hamburgers and have to say it was 1/2 of the cost of my sandwich. Great deal!

A Restaurant.com gift certificate brought me to Mt. Adams Bar & Grill. This was my second time in Mt. Adams - I love this little area of town! This is a corner location, and the street parking is limited. I like that the menu marks the healthier options. I had the Veggie Burger, which was reasonably priced but not the tastiest thing ever. My husband had the Veggie Sandwich with tofu - his was definitely tasty. The Sandwiches come with chips by default. We shared an appetizer of French Fries with spicy nacho cheese. The food was okay but nothing spectacular.

Mediocre at best for the food. French onion soup from a can with no cheese or bread. Ugh. Why put French onion soup on the outside board if it's from a can. What a huge disappointment. Sandwich was substandard. The bar and ambiance was nice. I guess this is why people like it and why I rated it two stars. Apparently it's the first open bar in Ohio after prohibition. Probably won't go back to eat.

The Mt. Adams Bar & Grill has been around for a long time. When prohibition was repealed in 1933 the Bar & Grill in its present location was the first drinking establishment in Ohio to obtain a liquor license. Surprisingly this past Saturday's visit was my first time inside the historic building, but we don't make it up to Mt. Adams as often as we once did in our younger years for bar hopping. We arrived around 6:30 in the evening and found no wait for a table of four. We were seated right away in a booth behind the hostess stand, near the large wooden bar. While waiting for the other couple to arrive, my wife and I snacked on a small order of fried jalapeño ravioli ($7.25). Though the menu claimed that the ravioli are stuffed with chopped jalapeño peppers, I did not detect much spice in them at all. With that said I still enjoyed the fried pasta filled with ricotta cheese. For dinner I ordered the southwestern chicken sandwich, which features a chicken breast marinated in a special sauce and grilled to perfection, topped with sour cream, green taco sauce, pepper jack cheese, tomato, lettuce, mayonnaise and served on grilled buttercrust bread ($6.75). It comes served with a side of chips, though other options are available for an additional charge. The sandwich was really good with a nice spicy finish. The chips were nothing special, and I probably should have went with sweet potato fries instead. My wife ordered the veggie burger, a combination of oats, tofu, wheatgerm, sesame seeds, and a variety of seasonings. It is served with lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, pickle, red onion, mustard and Monterey jack cheese ($6.25). I was fortunate enough to have a couple of bites of this sandwich and I have to say this is one of the best veggie burgers around. The mix of so many ingredients comes together in a somewhat spicy and very filling meal. I honestly wasn't expecting much from the food at Mt. Adams Bar & Grill, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The prices are extremely fair and the food is very good. This is easily a top spot in Mt. Adams for an affordable and casual meal before heading out to the bars, and is even worthy of a visit at any other time.

We had lunch here and it was very good. A good albeit thin burger, but made to order. All fresh ingredients and served nicely. Very limited menu so make sure you see it first before going. We liked it.

Much applause to the staff at Mt.Adams Bar and Grill after my friends and I caused a ruckus St. Patrick's weekends. The staff really had their hands full from the festivities of the day and a well hydrates crowd. With that aside the place is really awesome everyday of the year. If you in Mt.Adams and are trying to find a good burger look no further. The place also has a great breakfast menu.

Atmosphere = dark. Definitely more of a winter time or rainy day place. Location is great - obviously anywhere in Mt Adams is a good location - if you like Mt Adams. I had dinner here and then went next door to Blind Lemon for a cocktail (on a weekday) The service is friendly. It wasn't packed, but it wasn't dead either. The food was solid. The liquor was poured just right/on the heavy side - always a plus ;-) We got the hummus platter and the spicy black bean burger. Both were awesome and the fries... magnificent. Good option for a sit down casual dinner in Mt Adams - not a place I'd go out of my way to go for dinner.

The service was quick, so you can't really beat that. The atmosphere is really lovely. Ask to sit in the back room because it is beautiful back there. We did not realize this, and we were seated in the bar area. I would certainly want to sit on the porch area next time. The server was friendly (albeit I kept overhearing her conversations which I found unprofessional- "why can't we change the radio station? It is just SO SLOW IN HERE! Can't you see it's just SO busy?" It got annoying fast). We didn't have any alcoholic drinks, so I can't speak on that front. The food was okay. The burger is pretty good, and it's cheap. I had the chicken sandwich. It was very small, especially for the price with al a carte sides. It was good. I would recommend this place for the atmosphere not the food.

Another great Cincinnati spot found by accident, in our review of this area we found several eateries that we'll be visiting while here. Our first stop was here, their extensive list of beers is quite impressive as I stayed with my usual Chimay a nice Belgium Trappist. I also recommend ordering the Jalapeno Cheese Fried Ravioli, it comes in 6 or 12 qty. I had the Grilled Southwest Chicken sandwich. The chicken was prepared perfectly and the vegetable toppings were fresh and crisp. I ordered mine with sweet potato fries which were a nice add on, I would suggest you order a side of the Tony Packo's pickle and pepper relish which I added to my sandwich. It literally pushed it over the top. I finished my evening with a slice of homemade apple pie ala mode. Afterward we all walked around the area, it helped with the digestion and it gave us the opportunity to scope out our next port of call.

Great place. Outstanding service, great bartender, good food, and a unique atmosphere. You really can't go wrong stopping in here for a bite and some drinks when up on the hill. Good on tap beer selection, and just about any other craft beer you could want available in bottles.

Just moved to Mt. Adams and needed a place to watch Monday Night Football. My girlfriend had the Nachos and I had the double dipped hot wings. The wings were amazing, thanks to out Waitress' recommendation. We also had the Jalapeño Raviolis which were fantastic. We will be back!

Being in the service industry myself, I understand how devastating negative reviews can be. I also have nothing but respect and appreciation for those who serve me when I go out. Before posting this review, I pursued ALL avenues with Mt. Adams Bar & Grill in an attempt to resolve my issues with the service I received directly. However, after speaking with several employees, managers, and eventually the owner, I was unable to reach a satisfactory resolution and have decided to proceed with what is hands down the worst review I have ever written. My fiancé and I walked over to Mt. Adams Bar & Grill last Sunday afternoon for some late lunch and a couple drinks. We opted to sit at the bar, where we have always received stellar service from Matt. Unfortunately for us, Matt wasn't working on this particular day and we were waited on by someone else (anthother young man whose name I cannot be sure of). Being a bar tender myself, I tend to notice certain things that others may not. For example, how he stood with his hands in his pants while talking to a server (not in his pockets- IN HIS PANTS). I also couldn't help but notice that he made a mixed drink in a FILTHY blender. I watched him SNIFF THE BLENDER, decide that it was acceptable, and proceed to serve someone a drink out of it. There was dried, caked on nastiness in the blender (looked like ice cream, maybe?) and he didn't even rinse it out before piling more ingredients in there and mixing it all up. Finally, after we had eaten and asked for our bill, he made the biggest mistake of all. Our bill was fifty dollars and I threw down three twenties: HE DID NOT OFFER ME CHANGE! He actually had the nerve to assume that he would be receiving a twenty percent tip! I couldn't believe it. I could ignore all of these offenses if the service he provided had been otherwise great- but it wasn't. He was slow and awkward, and after seeing all of these other issues, I decided to call the manager. Over the next couple of days, I tried to get a manager on the phone (which did take two days and apparently the email provided on their website is no longer valid). When I did get a manager on the phone, he was very apologetic and seemed genuinely disgusted by the bar tenders actions. He offered me the owner's cell phone number, assuring me that she would take action and make it right. Well here is the most shocking part of the whole incident: when I called her she spent the entire conversation making excuses for her bar tender, even going to far as to tell me what his rebuttal was for each of the items I listed. Literally relayed his excuses to me! I was flabbergasted. Not only did she offer no recompense of any kind, but she literally didn't even apologize. At NO POINT in the conversion did she utter anything even close to an apology. NOT ONCE. As I said at the beginning of this review, I work in the service industry and I fully understand how upsetting bad reviews can be, but after trying my best to resolve the issue privately, I feel compelled to let people know! My fiancé and I will most certainly NOT return to Mt. Adams Bar & Grill while it is owned and operated by individuals who clearly have no respect for their guests...

Nothing special but decent sandwiches, clean restaurant, and several options. The food is a bit greasy for my taste, but it is a bar and grill. The atmosphere is cool and you can tell the bartenders all know the stories of the memorabilia and the bar. All in all this is a place to stop by on the hill if you're looking for a quieter meal with a smile.

Adorable place and staff was very nice. The food was good and the prices are reasonable. I had a cheeseburger and sweet potato fries. I will defiantly go back. Plus there was this three layer desert the table next to me had that looked awesome!

Not anything to rave about. Wasn't busy and we were seated right away so that's good. The menu is sort of blah. What I mean is that nothing really stands out as interesting or as a must try. Prices are all over the map and sides are a la carte which adds up. Service was reasonably timely.

When your service is good you hardly notice it. Sadly, the converse is also true. This is a classic example of how bad service can ruin a perfectly good place. Met up with a group of guys for dinner last Tuesday. After taking our seats I asked the waiter if there were any drink specials. Actually, I asked, "Are there any drink spe--" and was cut off with a curt "no" before I could finish my sentence. We were already off to a bad start. I don't think the guy was intentionally being a jerk, it just seemed like he really didn't want to be there and it turned an otherwise enjoyable experience into one that was somewhat stressful and tedious. When ordering drinks he made sure to card all of us (only one in our party was under the age of 31). In a failing attempt to lighten the atmosphere, I made a comment that I actually got a kick out of being carded anymore and that I take it as a compliment. The waiter replied in almost a defensive manner by saying he didn't want to get fired. He then proceeded to get the wrong size drink for one of my buddies and the wrong side item for his order as well, and was pretty checked out the whole evening. At the end of the night he made sure to inform us that gratuity was not included in our bill. He certainly did not smile once the entire time we were there. I understand he might not have been having a good day and I don't expect everyone to be cheery all the time, but there were five in our party and we all commented about the waiter's demeanor. Other than that, it was a pretty solid experience. It was a beautiful night and the windows were open. The atmosphere is pretty nice and I got a really good burger for only four dollars. Drinks were a little more than I had hoped they'd be, but it is Mt. Adams. I would avoid getting well drinks. There was only a fifty cent difference between Paramount (yuck) and Kraken or Meyer's, both of which are far superior rums.

I loved the history and all the unique features the building had to offer. The back room reminded me of the old south, maybe New Orleans? The prices were actually pretty reasonable. I was surprised at the amount of sandwich options they had. Service was kind of a downfall. Example- the waitress asked if I wanted fries with my meal without explaining that they would be extra cost. She did the same thing to my friend who was at the other table. We were kind of in a hurry and had to wait about 15 minutes for the check. Other than that, I really enjoyed this place. I would go back to see what its like for dinner. The waitress told us that a lot of the local people from the neighborhood are regulars.

Mmm, food stuffs! I had been to the sister building of Mt. Adams Bar and Grill, the Blind Lemon, many times. It's a great funky bar filled with amazing atmosphere, drinks and music ... but no food (unless you count the free bowls of pretzels, which are delicious but not that filling). Luckily, there is a restaurant right next door for those in the hungry. Mt. Adams Bar and Grill is a very casual place for a casual meal.Your standard pub fare of burgers and wings and fried this or that. Hot, fast, tasty. The atmosphere is funky casual. It's kind of got an "old-timey" bar feel top it, with lots of hanging lights and mirrors on the walls. Nothing that's going to blow you away (like, say, The Blind Lemon does when you walk into it), but certainly comfortable. Parking is, as anywhere on Mt. Adams, awful. Beyond awful, especially if you're coming at night. You can try to do the street, but good luck. You can try to do the paid garages, but even then, good luck (many times they are full but won't tell you until you've already paid and driven through. They give money back, but still, annoying.) The best part of our night was the server, who was friendly and fast (he kept refilling my soda before I could even ask him to do so. Fantastic.) My cheese fries were OK, they felt like they might have just come out of a package though. My friend got the steamed vegetable meal, which was good but a little pricey for what it was (vegetables, rice and a salad was $11? Really?) Still, I had a very good relaxed time before hopping over to the bar next door. In Mt. Adams but want to avoid the whole loud bar night scene? This is my place to go.

This was a great find. I was recently here for a bachelorette party and was pleasantly surprised by this gem in Cincinnati. The atmosphere and location are great, the food was fantastic and the prices were awesome as well. I really can't wait to return here. The whole Mt. Adams neighborhood is lovely with lots of great places nearby. Definitely make a stop here though if you get the chance!

This bar, like many in Mt. Adams, has history and probably a colorful one at that. It food is standard American fare and bar is just that...a bar. Nothing special, but then again, Cincinnati has never been going for anything other than middle of the fence. During the day it is a nice place to get a meal or drink, but at night...you better laminate your resume and put it around your neck as the night life in this and other bars changes a bit......meat market at its worst. Personally, I'd stay away from this portion of town altogether.

I went here with a friend and his family to celebrate his graduation. I was immediately surprised as I walked in to see how nice it was for having the words "bar and grill' at the end of it's name; it was pretty classy. I also really liked the setup; it was less of a wide open place and more like separated sections of mini-restaurants, which I really liked. I sat down and looked at the drink menu and was pretty impressed at the overall selection of beers. And I got one for free, a Dead Guy Ale, and the dinner was going well. Then I looked at the food menu... It was one of the most boring menu's I have ever seen. I know a bar and grille will have a pretty standard menu, but this was so plain; there was no character to it. It was filled with things like "Reuben" and "Clubhouse." The most exciting name on here was "chicken buddies," which were just chicken fingers, but alas, I chuckled. I ordered the "Famous" burger which was a burger with pretty standard ingredients and a "spicy" salsa. The burger was fine, but pretty standard as well, and the salsa was not in the least bit spicy. Overall, as with the rest of my three star reviews, it was very forgettable, and I don't expect to ever return here.

This was my first time here and will prob be my last. We went in for dinner before heading out for a few drinks. I ordered the chicken sandwich and ken got the grilled cheese. Ken's sandwich was greasy and just not up to my par. My sandwich was ok, it was more green chili than anything.

Disappointed by the fact that Yesterday's doesn't serve any food, we decided to check out Mt. Adams Bar & Grill. My friend said that it's a place with American food, and not expensive, for Mount Adams. That's exactly what we got - American food. And man was it tasty! I had the cheeseburger with fries and mayonnaise (once a Belgian, always a Belgian...) and really enjoyed it. The cheeseburger just literally was a hamburger with cheese, but I didn't mind as I don't think lettuce or tomatoes or any other veggies would add anything to it. The fries were not manually made but really good anyway - nice gold color. Four stars for the nice atmosphere in the bar and the historic feel of the place. A nice first experience here.

A quick bite before a walk at the beautiful Eden park, i ordered the buffalo wings with a glass of lemonade. The lemonade was delicious. The wings were generously laden with buffalo sauce, crisp and fresh! My significant other ordered the turkey reuben. It looked delicious. I'll be back!

Admission: I only go to Mt. Adam's Bar & Grill on St. Patricks Day, when my husband's very Irish family reserves the patio room and we have a luncheon. It's a very busy, very crowded affair, with people happily talking and sharing photos of the family, not paying attention to their server, etc. The food to me, is typical bar food, with a rather extensive menu, it can be overwhelming just trying to wade through it. I always end up with the Reuben--it's good and easy and I don't have to think much! The fries leave a bit to be desired, but that's just because they seem like frozen food service fries. Our servers are always pleasant, and it must be tough becasue people keep table hopping to visit other family members, and children are running all over the place, but for the last 4 years, they've always managed to smile and work as efficiently as our group will allow. I do think that for lunch, 2 Reubens, one child's grilled cheese, 2 harps, and 2 Guinness for $52.00 (without tip) is a considerable expense, but it's Mt. Adams and it's once a year--the one day a year I don't mind dropping a ton of money on beer!

I always forget about this place until I am going to see a show at Playhouse in the Park. They have decent hours so you can grab something late here. The food is really really good! Tried the burger and the chicken sandwich. I also like the atmosphere.

One of my favorite low key restaurants in Mt. Adams. Great for gatherings of all sorts, family, friends, and even dates. The bar reminds me of an older 20th Century speakeasy. Its no wonder because, Mt. Adams Bar and Grill in its present location was the first drinking establishment in Ohio to obtain a liquor license after the repeal of Prohibition. The menu features general American fare (lots of meat not to many vegetarian options). The portions are generally decent, as well as the prices (especially for Mt. Adams). I particularly like pulling up to the bar and eating when I'm rolling solo. Its a great place to make a quick meal time friend. Or your can sit at a table or booth with friends for some more privacy. Remember it can get pretty busy in Mt. Adams on the weekend, so it may be worth making a reservation and taking a cab if possible to avoid the Mt. Adams weekend madness.

Mt. Adams Bar is a great place to catch up with friends and grab a drink. I tend to go here with folks who need to meet at a half way between NKY and Cincinnati. The architecture of the bar is bold and turn-of-the-century, with plenty of nostalgia on the walls. There is a large menu of bar food, which in comparison to other bar food, is quite tasty. I usually enjoy eccentric meals, so this isn't a place I'd frequent for its cuisine. The Reuben was one of the best things I've had here, and it was similar to most other Reubens. The burgers were okay; a little pricey and small. I've also had the Mediterranean plate. The mixed drinks are up to par and service has always been attentive and exemplary. Food will easily cost you $10 - $15 before drinks if you come with an appetite. Mt. Adams Bar is a unique place for a drink with a young professional crowd. Make sure you have some extra dough to spend while you're here though, it's easy to rack up a bill while having a good time.

The staff was super friendly and the food was great and reasonbly priced. I'm a vegetarian and the black bean veggie burger was delicious, with avocado, onions, pickles and salsa. My mom said her clubhouse sandwich was amazing. I will definitely be back!

Excellent location, excellent food, excellent prices! As good as this place is, I can not expect to get filled up if I am extremely hungry. It is ok given prices are very reasonable; however, get one of the appetizers if you are looking to fill up. Don't expect easy parking during busy hours of the day!

Imagine my surprise when I looked down onto The Blind Melon's outdoor patio and saw Emilio Estevez! You just don't see that every day! My mom and I had an early dinner at Mt. Adams Bar & Grill on our way back to Indianapolis. Decent menu selection and I was pumped to see that there were several vegetarian options as well as other healthy choices. My only peeve is that the sandwiches don't come with a side item... I opted for the Southwest Black Bean Veggie Burger and also ordered a side of sweet potato fries. The sandwich was basically delicious and came on an onion bun! I always forget how yummy onion buns are. Sweet potato fries were also pretty good. My mom had the Mexican Taco Salad. Nothing special, pretty standard issue. We sat toward the back of the restaurant area in the enclosed patio. Very pretty back there! I enjoyed the ambiance though it seemed that a lot of the decor was dusty and the floor could use a good sweeping. When in the area, I would probably come back to hit up the bar area.

The Mt. Adams Bar and Grill, like a lot of other Cincinnati staples, has an interesting history. Apparently it was founded by a bootlegger during the height of Prohibition who spent over $20,000,000 in bribes to keep local cops and prosecutors off his case. And while this might have worked for the locals he didn't have the same type of luck with the feds. This bootlegger, named George Remus apparently gave his entire diamond collection to his wife before the government had a chance to put him on trial. His wife promptly filed for divorce, which didn't sit too well with Remus, seeing as he tracked her down just two hours before his trail and murdered her. He ended up pleading guilty by insanity, spent three months in a state mental hospital, and was released and lived the rest of his life a free man. How many husbands fantasize about that? Anyway, I popped into here a while back. I was having a meeting with a couple of my students and they suggested making it a working dinner. I wasn't really feeling that idea, but when they offered to pay, well why not. So we got there and walk in. Honestly, I couldn't really tell you about décor, or the staff, or the atmosphere. All I could really tell you is that all my muscles were sore, my knees, lower back, ankles and every other joint and bone that I know of were in all kinds of pain, I could barely take a breath, my head was pounding, my head was on fire while I was sweating buckets (despite it being pretty chilly outside), and I spent the entire time trying to get the room to stop spinning. Oh, and the booth we were sitting in was extremely uncomfortable. Little did I know that at the time I had pneumonia. That could explain why I don't really remember much about our visit. There is one thing I do remember, though. And that would be the meal. I ordered the Reuben. And it was really good. So much so that it made me forget how awful I was feeling. It was so good I actually ordered another one to go. If a place makes a Reuben sandwich that can make a guy with pneumonia forgot all about the symptoms that's making him miserable, well that's a good, friggin' sandwich. I got to try this place when I'm actually healthy. Mahalo, and enjoy.

I love the atmosphere at Mt. Adams Bar & Grill! There are actually 2 different types of atmospheres here. One being an eclectic, historic bar and a cottage feel in the back with lots of light streaming in from the large windows on 2 sides. The food is what you'd expect at a bar, but a couple notches above in quality. Great appetizers like veggie plate with ranch, mediterranean plate and chicken buddies with interesting dipping sauces. Great burgers (turkey and veggie included), french onion chicken sandwich and ham and cheese melt...add egg! Don't forget to order cheese and ranch dressing for your extra crunchy french fries folks! Mmmm, I'm talking myself into going soon!

We went to the Mt. Adams Bar & Grill with the kids (ages 11 and 8) for lunch before a trip to the nearby Art Museum. It was the perfect choice! It's a really interesting old building, with amazing woodwork, tin-pan ceiling, tile floors, etc. There are tons of "collections" to look at while you wait - gumball machines, cigarette lighters, you name it! The service was prompt & the food was great. My husband and kids got the cod sandwich special, and I ordered the southwest black bean burger. To die for! We also had a garden salad (fine - nothing special) and a yummy clam chowder. The menu choices were numerous, so I'd love to go back and try more!

We often eat here before shows at the Playhouse in the Park. If you get there an hour and a half before showtime and tell your waitress you're seeing the show, they'll get you out on time. Plus that way you can park up at the Playhouse long before the parking gets tight, walk the block and a half to the restaurant, have dinner, and walk back over...and when you leave the show, your car is right there waiting for you in the Playhouse parking lot. Love their veggie burger on rye with swiss!

Cool location in the heart of Mount Adams. Hip & trendy neighborhood. Versatile place to go for good, casual dining. The place has lots of character and charm. I've been there several times and had consistently good experiences. Great menu with lots of options and reasonable prices. Decent sandwiches, very good sweet potato fries. The service is good, and we usually sit at the bar. Every time I've been there, it's been somewhat busy. It's family friendly, casual, and good for any kind of company. Parking is a drawback, unless you don't mind parking far away and walking. Despite the sparse parking, I'd go back many times. Even if just for the sweet potato fries.

Romantic little restaurant/bar on Hatch Street in Mt. Adams. Perfect to have a date with your spouse, and also a good gathering place for girlfriends. Taco salad, of which I seem to order every single time, is very good. Nice menu selection, however. The crowd is upscale and hipster, yet laid back and relaxed. Parking is always an issue in Mt. Adams, however, that's entirely the nature of Mt. Adams. Wear good walking shoes, because you'll go on a short hike to arrive to your destination anywhere you go in Mt. Adams. This is a great place for a first date.

I left a note - not sure if anyone knows of secret great parking places, but the street parking situation on Friday night was awful. It took 20-30 mins. to grab a spot. Parking aside, we grabbed some drinks and burgers here. Service was great - kept a watchful eye on our food and drink and was very friendly! The variety of the menu is not so hot; I enjoy different kinds of food and there wasn't as much to choose from. The portions of food were decent for the price - could've enjoyed more, but the prices were cheaper than usual so I thought it wasn't bad. So for a pretty good cheaper meal, this is great! They also have a decent drink selection - from lagers to ales to seasonal, they had something for any taste I could have. Wine, beer, and more! Other than parking, I can't complain.

Mt. Adams Bar & Grill is a great place to go to meet up with some friends, enjoy a good meal and share a few laughs. This is a perfect place to start your evening if you plan to stay up in Mt. Adams. You have more than enough bars and nightlife to take you through the rest of the night.

Great food. Since it is a pub, it is a little greasier than your average restaurant fare. The sandwiches/salads/soups are great, and they have great sweet potato fries. The beer selection is a nice touch. Also, the prices are pretty low. I've been several times and will not stop. As a side note, parking in Mt. Adams is horrible on Thursday nights and all throughout the weekend. Bottom Line: I'll be back for an unhealthy, delicious, cheap dinner.

I was here a few weeks ago on a bitterly cold Monday. I was with a few fine folks and came on a whim - we were looking for a decent happy hour before heading over to the Art Museum. First we picked a table in the back, but switched to the bar after determining that our server wasn't any fun. Okay, so maybe I am expecting a lot, but as a bloody mary connoisseur, when I ask my server to describe their bloody mary to me...well, that is their moment to woo me! I want to be wooed! Make me believe this is the best damn bloody mary in town! When the reply is, "Uh, it's made with Zing Zang?" well, then I have not been wooed properly. Hardly impressive. SO...anyway...I realize I am hard to please on that front, so I won't hold it against my server. Unfortunately for them, we moved to the bar. We stayed for a couple drinks - the happy hour special is fifty cents off per drink, nothing spectacular, but my friend was very pleased with his $5 grey goose on the rocks with lemon. Not too bad. I also had the Mediterranean Plate, one of the veg options, which was pretty standard but a good value and pretty tasty. The best thing this place has going for it is it's location - great views of the streets, nice for people watching, and in a very picturesque neighborhood. While, I wouldn't be opposed to returning, I might be more inclined to try some other spots in Mt. Adams.

I really like Mount Adam's Bar and Grill. I stop in semi-regularly and the place is bursting character and style. Architecturally, it's genius. It's detail throughout is to a level unseen today and it has an unusual floor plan. But anyway, the bar is great and huge, stocked with whatever, including some house drinks. Food: The grilled cheese is the only thing I ever eat here. It's perfect because they use oil and egg, not butter, the grilled cheese is just so much better that way. The service here is only OK. We always ask to sit in the little hallway lined in windows, and twice we were told we couldn't choose where to sit, even though the restaurant was nearly empty, and we had chosen in the past. But that's okay. Service is slow. It's usually 20 minutes in before we even are offered drinks... but that's part of the allure to me. Mt. Adam's Bar & Grill is slow and relaxed and quiet perfect for a lazy afternoon.

We had dinner here before attending the local theater. The service was so slow and non-challant that we practically had to run to get to the show on time. The food was very average and the portions seemed small for the cost. We will probably not be back here again.

I stopped in to try their burger based on another Yelper's recommendation. The restaurant itself is really cool - great bar, very nice atmosphere. I sat in the back room for the first time ever (didn't know it was even there). Lots of cool stained glass and antique light fixtures. But the food? I had their "Famous" burger and chips. Not my favorite. The burger had no taste at all. Bun was lacking as well. I would return as it's a cool place but I would not recommend the burger I had.

The theater crowd always packs this place. I like the unique feel of each room -- you can do the bar thing in the front room, the crowds in the middle or the quieter open room in the back, etc. Great drinks.

I ate at this place every single day that I was in Mount Adams. The place is so nice. The decor was a little odd, but the food was what I was there for. I got lost on my way to the area and called the restaurant, when I finally got there, someone was outside waiting on me to arrive (that was so nice). I'm not sure what the name of my waiter was, but he was the cute guy with dread-locs. He was so pleasant. He told us all about the night life in MA and we had a great time.

Sometimes I just crave a club sandwich. Mt Adams Bar & Grill never seems to disappoint me. For those of you that don't enjoy bacon on your club, I recommend the California club with avocado instead. This establishment is truly a bar and grill. You will find low-fuss food and a pretty good beer selection. This is where I go when I am craving a club. I hope you find a great comfort here as well.

Located in a vintage building in the Mt. Adams area (hence the very creative name.) It's been run by the same couple for about 30 years. The food and service are both a bit above average. It seems like "regulars" are given a warmer reception by the wait staff.

Ok, so first thing to say is that if you are staying downtown and have never been to Cincinnati before, this part of town is not an extremely convenient walk from your downtown hotel. You might want to take a cab. I mapped it out and saw it was only 1.7 miles away. But I didn't take into account that the 'Mount Adams' neighborhood is literally up a mountain from Cincinnati. Short walk but the elevation gain equals the horizontal distance! Anyway, after climbing the mountain, found this fairly cool little neighborhood called Mt. Adams. The area felt kind of Sausalito-esque (for those from the Bay Area) in that it's small and separated from the city geographically but not that far away in miles. There are a few restaurants and bars in the area and some nice places with decks overlooking the city. But enough review of the area.... I went to Mt Adams Bar and Grill and grabbed a burger and fries with a beer. Both were actually quite good. But if anything I was disappointed with the atmosphere. It was like some kind of grandparents re-union in there. It certainly couldn't be described as the kind of place you would want to go out with your friends. So decent food and drinks at a pretty good price in a nice neighborhood on a hill. My guess is that some of the other places in the area are better for a night of drinks, but if you need some food before you start, this will suffice.

Went for lunch today and though the place was great! Interesting decor, as Christoffer's review mentioned; I noticed a cigarette lighter collection along the wall. We looked over the menu and decided on some chicken wings for an appetizer. The wings were a good level of spicy and came with blue cheese dressing and celery. My guest preferred ranch, so we had both for dipping. For lunch, I had the mahi mahi sandwich. At first the fillet looked small, but it was deceiving. It was served with lettuce, onion, tomato and a spread, a side of chips and cottage cheese, due to its being one of the lower fat and calorie menu options. My guest had a cheeseburger, which he said was good enough. It was decent sized and the price was right $4. I was a little disappointed with the iced tea, given that it was tea with little to no ice. I didn't ask if there was a particular issue with ice; maybe the tea had just been brewed. The restrooms are downstairs, which might be a feat after having a few beers given they're pretty steep. All in all, I liked the atmosphere, the location, the prices and the menu choice

The jazz age decor makes you think this place should be a speakeasy - and it was. Sadly, the end of prohibition has made it legal, which seriously cuts down on the fun if you're one of those folks who likes to feel illicit and sneaky. It also means you don't have to drink out of teacups, and the lovely bar can display its local beers on tap with pride. The burgers and sandwiches are excellent, especially considering the prices (like $5) which are low not just for Mt Adams. And, there have been "less than one million sold." Consider yourself special. The dining room is open and well-lit, and the bar retains its delightful retro ambience, with frosted, leaded light fixtures and brass everywhere. It is not, however, as seedy as I'd want a speakeasy to be. But it works just fine for a bar and grill.

Stopped in for a late lunch and had a wonderful time. My spinach salad topped with blackened tuna was good. My wife got a blackened salmon sandwich and ate it without the bun. She loved the sauces and the fries were perfect. A bit of crunch on the outside and tender inside is hard to do. Do try the sardines - they are a perfect starter.

I think I keep coming back to this place because of it's location. Mt. Adams is always a nice place to be when the weather is nice. Mt. Adams Bar and Grill is so centrally located too. I love their back seating area. Walking back there reminds me of New Orleans. The open windows looking over the streets. All of this is what keeps bringing me back. There isn't anything spectacular about the food. There is one item I have to have and so I go there to get it. They have something that will appeal to every appetite. They salads are ok, there are plenty of sandwiches on the menu. They usually have 2 soups of the day and their appetizers are pretty nice portions themselves. It's typical for what you might find at Denny's or any corner cafe. The wait staff is friendly but not extremely attentive. They don't accept substitutions very easily or without an up-charge and for the most part, the food is over-priced. The sandwiches are about where they should be, but the soup portions are so small for the price. Their bowl is really more the size of a cup and is $4.50. Like I said, I keep coming back though. They have a lot of choices so it's great for a crowd of diverse eaters and the food is tasteful so it satisfies the hunger. I say give it a try.

$4.75 for a burger. i repeat. $4.75 for a burger. not the worlds largest, certainly not the world's best, but what a bargain. seating aplenty, this bar & grill has a limited menu but offers as a good starting point if you plan on hitting the nearby bars.

I went there after seeing a show at the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. The bartender was really friendly. I had a healthy option pasta that wasn't super flavorful, but didn't disgust me or anything. The place is really cozy and seems to be regular destination for people in the neighborhood.

Great little spot to grab a bite and a drink. Had the Reuben and a Sam Adams Summer Ale that hit the spot. Service was good but it was a Wednesday night so not a lot was going on. Centrally located in Mt. Adams so it can be a starting or ending point for your night.

I blame my mother. She decided we needed a family dinner out so I dragged my tired self down from Columbus for the occasion. I'd never been here before, but I assumed she would check it out beforehand. Wrong. When we arrived she was surprised that the menu contained bar food & that virtually no one else was eating. I had the chicken sandwich & the BF had the fish sandwich. Both were covered in grease. BUT they do have Hoegaarden (my favorite beer of all time), so that will get them some credit. The waitress wasn't the greatest. I finished my beer about halfway through, yet she never stopped back for me to order another or get a glass of water. At least I wasn't paying.

Great place, fantastic burgers, cheap, great fries, stella on tap, friendly service at the bar, can't ask for more of a neighborhood pub. It's the only decent place on the hill if you don't wannna shell out $80. Love the jackelopes at the bar and the nice selection of single malts and fine bourbons.
