Who would have thought I would find this gem. It is the definition of a hole in the wall. They have maybe 2 or 3 tables. It is more of a carryout place. Their menu is small, but they have perfected the sandwiches. Their sandwiches are huge and at a small price. Talk about a good deal. I got the single roast beef and was stuffed. I'm not usually around the area but if I am, I will be going back. Their BLT looks amazing.

I've been in here a couple more times and I just have to say, these guys are legit. They take it seriously and they make a quality sandwich. I don't think I mentioned this before, but they slice all the veggies so paper thin that they are just flavor and juice and amazing in your mouth.

One of the best deli's I've ever been to. Pay attention to where you are going because this small sandwich shop will fly right by you it's so unassuming. Don't pay attention to the weird chop shop across the street or the check cashing place down the road. These are what makes this place so great. A no frills New York style deli that's slinging up delicious sammies. My double decker roast beef and turkey club was what dreams are made of. Delectable meat. Substantial, fresh bread. All LOADED up onto a sandwich for only $5. Seriously guys, check the pics. I wouldn't lie to you. They've got an assortment or drinks by the can and bottle for $1 a piece. They can also cater with future notice. Talking with the owner, they've been around a while. The walls are lined with NY memorabilia and signed photos giving it that hole in the wall deli feel you'd find in NYC. It's a little hidden and out of the way but it is 100% worth it. Best sandwich I've ever had in my life.

I was super excited about this place when I saw all of the great reviews. I put in an order for delivery at 10:30 (I didn't think it would be busy yet for lunch) and it said it would take about 30 min to get to me. For a good sandwich I was willing to wait for that long. However, I then got a text message saying they were too busy and wouldn't get my sandwich to me until after 12!!! And they are not even located far from me. I called the store to kindly ask them if they could cancel my order, and the guy was rude and cut me off a few times. I ended up having to call a different number to cancel but it was all automated and I have no idea if I actually canceled my order and will be getting my money back. I will never attempt this place again.

I'm sold. The sandwiches are consistent, very tasty, and very inexpensive. It's really just for pick up or delivery... Not a spot for dining in but it's worth it. Sandwiches come with chips and a pickle...

Coming from Jersey it is hard to find quality non corporate places to eat. This is a true nj ny style sandwich shop. Amazing prices. Amazing sandwiches. Best food I've had in my three years in ohio.

Previous reviews that I've read of J & W Sandwich Shoppe have all been 100% positive and I finally made the short drive over to Norwood to give it a try. The shoppe is located on Worth Avenue, a mostly vacant commercial street in a predominately residential neighborhood. The outside of their building and the surrounding ones are in desperate need of maintenance, as if nothing has changed in the 23 years they have been in business. Inside J & W offers just two tables and a handful of chairs, so I'm assuming the majority of their customers come in for carry out orders, just as I did. Printed menus can be found at the counter. In addition to a wide variety of cold and hot sandwiches, various soup and salad selections are also available. I ordered the very highly reviewed double-decker BLT with chips and a pickle ($4.75). This is a massive sandwich about four inches tall and it was packed full with plenty of bacon. It was a little messy to eat due to the size, but it was a very good sandwich. I'd like to give some of the other sandwiches a try, but this BLT will be hard to pass up in the future. J & W offers delivery to a pretty wide area of town and charges just $1 for the service (minimum order of $10). They also offer party trays with 24 hour notification and those can be delivered as well. J & W Sandwich Shoppe is a hidden gem that is very affordable and quite delicious.

Dive, hole in the wall, rundown, whatever you want to call it, this place fits that description. But you also gotta call the sandwiches what they are - huge, tasty, and cheap. Call ahead if you can to avoid a minor wait, but it's pretty quick service even if you don't. Hell they even deliver.

This place gives bonkers deals. Sandwiches are huge and dirt cheap. Great deals. $5 for a sandwich and chips. Restaurant itself is a bit dirty, but this place is worth the trip.

Recently learned about J&W after moving to the area, now it's one of my favorite carry out lunch spots. It's a little off the beaten path and is pretty much strictly a carry out place, but I'm giving it 5 stars for the great sandwiches and the bang for your buck. The BLT seems to be the most popular sandwich they have, but I've had the Club and the New Yorker (Pastrami on Rye), and both were excellent. The club is now my go to pickup order, it's loaded with Turkey, ham, and bacon and is about $5 bucks. The workers/owner are friendly and do a great job. I'll be introducing my friends to this place and I know they'll be hooked like me.

For what you get (take out simple sandwiches) this place is the best. Super cheap cost, but serious meat on the sandwich! We get lunch from here twice a week at work. Nothing more to say except it's awesome.

J & W is a no frills New York style sandwich shop that has been owned be a NY transplant for over 23 years. NO WONDER THESE SANDWICHES ARE SO HUGE! In the middle of nowhere, this humble storefront boats only a few tables and a counter where they make the sammies right there in front of you. The menu is only a page and that is how is should be. Simple and executed to perfection. They are known for their "Little Italy" and the BLT. The boyfriend and I went with a BLT and a Roast Beef & Turkey. Hands down this is one of the biggest and BEST BLT's I have ever had. If you are a BLT fan, and especially right now in the summer, this is as good as they come. And you can't beat the price! It was $5 for a double-decker BLT and chips. WHAT?!! With the amount of bacon on this thing, I could only stomach half, and saved the other. Bottom line -- this is the best sandwich shop in the city. Go and see for yourself. Pro-tip: They also offer catering!

Best BLT I've ever had. Double decker BLT, chips, and pickle for less than $5. Great, hole in the wall place...I would say it's best for carry out. Also recommend pre ordering on the EAT24 app...they take their time to make your sandwich right, and it's awesome (EAT24 emails a $2 coupon to you almost every weekend). Legit place, workers are nice and personable.

The sandwiches are good sized, all American, nothing fancy. But if that's what your looking for, stop in.

This is my favorite sandwich shoppe ;) The double deckers are huge and definitely affordable! They come with a pickle slice and bag of chips. My boyfriend and I love the BLT. We always pick up our sandwiches and it's done in a reasonable amount of time. I like that the owner works in the shoppe, and enjoy looking at his pictures and autographs.

My work/department always orders sandwiches from J&W's every payday friday. I have never tried it. They have so much great things to say about their food. Our manager wanted to treat us for a great quarter and asked what we would like to eat. A few of us mentioned J&W's. They had the food catered in. There was a mixture of everything. Roast beef, Turkey, Ham, Tuna salad on Croissants and Subs. Also included pasta salad, fruit plate, chips, and cookies/brownies. Delicious!! The sandwiches were made fresh and enough meat to make another sandwich. I now would like to join in the fun from work to have J&W's delivered my sandwich every payday fridays. Staff is friendly on the phone, also they have a vegetarian section for those who do no eat meat. Great place and prices! You definately get what you pay for!

I tried to order from this location through the GrubHub application. GrubHub only shows you restaurant locations that are in close proximity to your location. So I sent in an order through the GrubHub app to J&W. 10 minutes later a worker from the restaurant called me and was very rude. He was asking me for directions to my house. He didn't have a GPS and it was up to me to tell him how to get to me. I tried to tell him and he abruptly said that because it was too far he couldn't deliver. I'm three miles from the restaurant. Then he hung up. Perhaps they should not offer a delivery service if they are unfamiliar with the area/don't have a GPS. And their customer service skills leave A LOT to be desired. I was looking forward to trying their food but being treated poorly will prevent me from ever thinking about eating from this location again.

Double Deckers are fantastic. Guys making the sandiwches are artist. Toasting the bread for support, lots of properly balanced meat, well prepped sandwiches, and fast. Good stuff. Keep it up guys!

I ordered catering boxed lunches, they were easy to order and with great customer service. At $5.85 per box lunch, the quantity and quality is definitely well above the cost. I wouldn't hesitate to use J & W Sandwich Shoppe over and over again. Delivery guys were very nice and brought all our stuff!

Everything one could want from a hole-in-the-wall sandwich place. The sandwiches were huge, flavorful, and cheap! I went with my husband for a weekday lunch on my break and we got two double-decker sandwiches, chips and drinks for $11. My husband got the double-decker BLT (tons of bacon) and I got the double-decker turkey and roast beef. It was pretty busy at 12:30 on a weekday, but the employees worked quickly and effectively. If you're in a hurry, call ahead for pickup, since it was getting our food that took the longest (about ten minutes). Everyone was quite friendly, even being as busy as they were. I wouldn't recommend eating in the shop - there were only two very small tables in a very small space. Not too mention the grungy feel (remember: hole-in-the-wall)... We got our sandwiches and headed over to a local park to chow down. I will definitely be back! And will probably be bringing my co-workers sandwiches once they mine.

Was listening to the radio and they were talking about great places to get a BLT sandwich - they recommended J&W. Have to say, up until that point, I never heard of it. So, today we went to the Red's game (which they won) and decided to pick up some BLT sandwiches to take to the game. We did call first, so the order would be ready when we got there. Not trying to sound like a broken record, like many of the other reviews, but this place is great. A no frills place with great food. When you walk in there are a couple of guys very busy making food orders and another guy taking orders and working the register. These guys were all hustling to get the food out. Let's get to the heart of the matter - the BLT double decker. It was PACKED with bacon. Huge sandwich and great sandwich. All that, and a bag of chips for only $4.75. Best sandwich and best deal in town. Don't miss it. Saw them making up some other sandwiches. Will definitely be going back.

First time in for lunch. Friendly staff, great prices, huge sandwiches. So delicious! Lots of sides and drink options, too.

Holy Delicious BLT Batman! Stopped in for the first time for lunch and went with the BLT. For $5 you get a HUGE BLT (seriously... like at least 4" of bacon on that baby) plus a can of pop (yes, it's called POP!) and a bag of chips (grippos, of course)! Plan on getting it to go though because there's only 2 tables there with 2 chairs a piece. This place is hoping at lunch time so plan ahead and arrive early! Don't let the sketchy exterior deter you... Or do... And leave all the amazing BLT goodness for me to enjoy!

We've ordered their delivery a few times and every single time it is fantastic! The New Yorker and the BLT are amazing! Everything is always packaged well and the drivers come very quickly! I highly recommend them

I searched for a nearby sandwich shop and was directed to this gem. One of the BEST sandwiches I have had in my life! I ordered a turkey club and was not disappointed by the size of the sandwich, the amount of meat put on there, the deliciousness, or the price. For $5 I got a sandwich, can of diet coke, and some chips. The guys behind the counter could not have been nicer! Needless to say, I will be returning soon.

It's hard to try other sandwiches when you're hooked on the Little Italy. But they have great sandwiches at reasonable prices. We get lunch twice a week here.
