This place is awesome! We live pretty close, over in East End so even tho this place is kinda in the hood, figured we'd give it a try. I've decided I love this deli. Purely based on food + friendliness of the staff. I got the Chèvre sandwich and it was soooo good. Not sure how else to describe it, it's one of their "signature original" sandwiches though so whoever thought to put all that stuff together on a sandwich is genius. I also got the potato salad. Now, I'm a potato salad snob - but theirs was really good. It's a white potato salad (sour cream base I think) with bacon, so it pretty much just tastes like a loaded baked potato! Yum. We will for sure be back!

First bite, instant heaven. I can't believe I've lived in cincinnati all my life and never have been here before. I got the avocado and mozzarella sandwich with the spinach salad and my mom got the giminiti sandwich. Both were beyond amazing. I devoured it before i could snap a picture. The staff were friendly and food came out quick! Zero complaints.

This place used to be a good place to stop and grab lunch. I have seen portion size and things like a roll and chips just go away. Of course the price goes up though. Thought I would give it another try today for lunch. Another huge disappointment. Smoked turkey pesto sandwich used To be loaded with turkey. Today, 1 slice. Don't think I will be back.

I wouldn't know because EVERYTIME I try to go it's closed!!!! 0 for 5 attempts! Even if it says open on yelp. Call first!

After my coworkers kept gushing about how amazing Giminetti's is and with a gift certificate becoming ever more crumpled in my wallet, I went with my colleagues for lunch a few months ago...and have been back again and again since that date! Embarrassing as it is, I have to admit to not being able to parallel park, which is half the reason it took me so long to get to the restaurant...however, there is parking to the side of the building, for those of you who also dread having to find a curbside parking spot. Inside, the shop is clean and open. Plenty of seating, both at pub-height and regular-height tables. You order at the counter, then a server brings your sandwich to you when it's out of the oven. The menu is just the right size, and prices are very reasonable for the quality of ingredients (around $6/sandwich plus a baggie of chips and a pickle spear). I am a sucker for fresh bread, and the smell of the freshly baked bread is just incredible. The sandwiches (of which the Chevre is my favorite...salami, smoked turkey, goat cheese, roasted peppers, tomatoes, and pesto) are toasted and have just the right amount of crispiness to bring out the flavors in the bread and fillings without being so crunchy that they scratch up the roof of your mouth. The menu also offers soups and salads, but I've stuck to the carb-laden sammie side of the board. Fountain drinks, coffee, and iced tea are available, and they have a bigger selection of diet sodas than most places. The only downside is that the prep and service are really slow. You're getting freshly made food to order, so I get it, but it takes at least 10 minutes to get your order during lunch time...some days even longer. I'd suggest calling in your lunch for pickup if you're on a time crunch. But if you have an unlimited lunch break, it is well worth the wait.

Not bad! This is more on the 3.5 star side. Not a ton of negative things to say, but nothing to sell a kidney for. Smoked Turkey + Provolone Cheese + Pesto Mayo + Onion + Tomato + Focaccia Bread = Smoked Turkey Pesto....yummerrss. It was good! Served with a pickle spear and chips. Here's the catch: This place is open during breakfast/lunch hours only! Which, is fine, this place is just a touch out of the way of my normal stomping grounds anyways. I'm not sure I would venture too far out of my way to come here anyways. Would I come back? Yeah, definitely. It was a good experience. If I found myself passing through during lunchtime hours on a weekend, I'd be back. I'm told the Pepperoni Roll is delicious!

Giminetti - the best thing about my trip to Cincinnati. No lie. This is an adorable sandwich spot. I got the avocado and fresh mozzarella on one of their homemade ciabatta roles. It ruled. The employees were so friendly. I dragged a group of 5 of my coworkers here from an event at Xavier. All were thankful that we ended up at such a great spot. The very best part about this place? Not only is it delicious, it's also cheap. I can't remember the last time I had lunch for under $7! Philly and my wallet need this.

Needed to try a new lunch spot and stumbled across this hidden gem! The smell of fresh bread wafts through the front door and the interior was excellent, lots of seating and benches cut to look like the Cincinnati skyline. The wait time was around 7 minutes and the sandwich and bag of chips was only $6.50. I ordered the avocado and mozzarella sandwich and it was better than I could have imagined; fresh, crunchy bread, fresh green avocados, and most importantly, the chewy and cheesy mozzarella cheese. The only negative thing I could say was how disappointing it was when I finished my sandwich. I didn't try the pizzas, but I saw a few come out and they looked amazing! Can't wait to go back!

Arrived to the wonderful smell of baking bread! The menu was easy to read and the atmosphere was very "lunch-like" . Perfect for quick and also healthful eats. I had the Gondola! Fresh and delish bread. The friends with me also had a variety of menu items that they enjoyed. The only drawback would be the location and parking. Otherwise- A+!

This deli/ bakery is definitely a hidden gem in Walnut Hills! There isn't a bad item on the menu, though I must admit I am so married to my usual BLT that I haven't had too many different sandwiches. They always seem to be coming up with new ideas, though! The prices are moderate and the service always friendly. My only complaint is the location because it isn't central to much of anything unless you live in Walnut Hills. I recommend the BLT, the margarita pizza, any of their delicious cookies and a bag of the rosemary rolls to take home. The outside is misleading and you may be apprehensive but come on, how can you go wrong with a place that makes your sandwich a double stack without even asking?!

I've driven by Giminetti's so many times and wanted to stop in that I think I had it book marked on Yelp for years. I finally found the time to drive over during lunch and I am so pleased that it happened! This is definitely one of the most hidden gems in the area. As far as I can tell, you do have to park on the street, so parking and location can be daunting, but it's well worth it. If you can't make it during the work-week, they are open for a short time on Saturday. It's a full-five-senses type of place. On first SIGHT, this place is cute, with the big curved windows and vast open dining area, it's also beautiful. You'll feel like you're somewhere special. Walk inside the doors and you instantly SMELL that you're at a bakery. Next, you'll HEAR the friendly voice of the person taking your order. Since I was so enthralled with my initial take on the restaurant, I asked a lot of questions (namely, why don't they advertise more!?). The staff was super friendly and patient with me and also helped me decide on an order (tuna melt - no relish in the tuna!) In a few short minutes, my hot meal came out (yes, that counts for TOUCH) and I dove in. Most importantly, it TASTED fabulous! The person I was with also had a delicious dish (I had a little bit of food envy), so it seems like you can't go wrong! They also offer catering and accept bakery orders!

Great fresh food. Perfect lunch spot. I've had two of the sandwiches and both have been good. I really like that they have those "gourmet" pretzels. I could eat a garbage bag full of those things! Anyways, parking is easy and I wish this place continued success.

Giminetti is awesome and has really great bread. The staff is also friendly and inviting and on street parking right in front (when available) makes for a nice quick trip. Much better for lunch than the wendys up the street.

I heard about Giminetti from catered events, mostly high praise for their bread. So I was intrigued to go there in person. It's a quaint establishment, nothing fancy. Atmosphere is not their selling point as it is pretty simple. But I was there for the food - bread, sandwiches, cookies, etc. I ordered the Muffaletta and a side salad. Both were freshly made. The salad was generous and satisfying for a side item. The sandwich was good but not spectacular. Not enough to it. My boyfriend ordered the Italian sausage sandwich and had the same reaction: Good quality ingredients but not a showstopper. We'll likely go back if we're in the neighborhood. Warning: Hours are limited to breakfast/lunch, and they are closed on Sundays. Bottom line: This is a good lunch place if you're looking for fresh made sandwiches and no frills atmosphere.

Dropped by for a quick takeout breakfast - sourdough breakfast sandwich and a cup of coffee. Sandwich was good, with bacon and scrambled eggs with a slice of cheese. Just what I wanted to get going. I also wanted some coffee, and what I got was sorely lacking. Weak, insipid, flavorless, all come to mind as adjectives. Bring up your game Giminetti's - get some decent coffee in for the love of pete, and learn how to brew it properly. Until you do I can't come back for breakfast. I'll have to come in for a panini at lunch, and maybe I'll change my review. But the lack of good coffee is a killer.

Nothing beats a good sandwich for lunch, recently used a Groupon for Giminetti and overall I was impressed. I had been past Giminetti many teams and never realized there was a cafe there until the groupon. The way I would describe Giminetti is picture a non-chain version of Panera. Not much to speak of ambiance wise. Fairly bland interior. At one point some random guy came in and made throw up sounds in the trash can, but I don't think he actually threw up. Luckily I was done with my sandwich by then. The staff was friendly, could have been a little quicker though. Luckily I wasn't in a rush or anything. The sandwich was pretty tasty. Since it is a bakery, the bread was very good and met expectations. I also enjoyed the meats I had (turkey, ham, roast beef and salami). I would return to Giminetti again.

You really couldn't ask for more out of a casual lunch spot. Giminetti's makes its own delicious bread and pizza crust on the premises, Have been there several times and simple sandwiches, pizzas and salads have all been fresh and excellent. Friendly service, free off-street parking. It's located off the beaten path in terms of its isolation from similar eateries, but it's an easy drive from Clifton, Walnut Hills, downtown, etc.

Excellent food and very friendly staff. I freqent this place. More than just a bakery, they have daily brunch specials, soup, sandwiches, and various sides.

This is my work week, neighborhood lunchtime restaurant. I usually eat here a few times a week, and I'm always happy with the quality of food and pleasant service.

I went here on a Saturday morning for a sandwich after hearing a recommendation from a friend. I was upset they didn't have the Tuscan Country Chicken I wanted but the Muffeletta was good as a second choice The thing I remember the most was the pasta salad and how delicious it was. We decided to dine in which was ok but it feels very high school cafeteria. The place isn't going to win an award for decor and feels very cold but I have a feeling that's the least of their concerns because they seem to do most of their business with take out orders and deliveries for businesses. I almost gave it 3 stars just based on that but the sandwich was too good to knock it down that far. Yet another place you can get a sandwich early in the morning, so its a win in my book. Just get it to go would ya.

Giminetti's has been a favorite lunch spot for me for years. It's not fancy, though the big rounded window bays are cool, and it's not in the best neighborhood, but they serve up great sandwiches on bread they bake right there. And unlike sandwiches I might get from someplace like Subway or Panera, there's actually some substance to them. The prices are good and I've never had a bad sandwich there. The chicken salad comes highly recommended, and their cookies and brownies are fantastic. Don't pass by this little gem on Gilbert. They also deliver for larger and group orders, so if you're looking for a versatile lunch in the downtown, Mt. Adams or surrounding areas, this place is a great option.

Great place for lunch to go or eat in. Terrific sandwiches. The potato salad is also a great choice made that much better by how bad it has to be for you. Not the fastest place for a quick bite, mainly because it always seems to be busy, but great selections abound.

I've been to this place a few times in the past few years and was never really impressed ... slow & not-incredibly friendly service ... the food was just so-so. Yet, I decided to give it another shot. What a mistake! Again, I had extremely slow service -- there were only three tables of diners, yet I had to wait nearly 15 mins. for my takeout order to be presented. Beyond that, the people-skills of the employees on duty (one of which I believe was a manager) were shoddy at best. These folks do not excel at "service with a smile." Not to mention that they were going to send me out the door with only TWO OF THE FOUR items I ordered! Of course, when I pointed this out, there was no apology offered; nothing said as they laid my nearly-forgotten items on the counter. I felt almost as though I was BOTHERING them by wanting the items I paid for! (How dare I!!) THEN, to top that off, I get back to work and, my Avocado and Fresh Mozzarella sandwich -- get this! -- had NO FRESH MOZZARELLA! No cheese whatsoever ... just avocado & tomato! Wow. I'm astounded at the positive reviews here, because this place really really seriously sucks.
