I love breakfast places and I was looking forward to trying this place. Overall, I would say the food was okay. I got a skillet with potatoes, eggs, sausage, cheese, veggies-- it tasted fine but nothing to write home about. There seem to be good healthy options here which is nice. Service was decent, no complaints about it. I was underwhelmed, and I'd come back if someone else suggests it but I probably won't choose to come back myself.

Not only is Chickichanga fun to say, but it's also pretty darn good. This is essentially a burrito stuffed with whipped eggs, chicken, chorizo, green chilies, Monterey jack, cheddar, onions, avocado, and a Vera Cruz sauce with a dollop of sour cream. With the accompanying breakfast potatoes, it's the proper breakfast size to leave you comfortably full.

Haven't met a location of First Watch I haven't enjoyed. Great big menu that has an option for just about any breakfast item that strikes you that day. Tastes very fresh and flavorful, and service is attentive. They have a healthy options section on menu that is light enough but still tasty and filling.

Never disappointed on there breakfast. I went with my girlfriend Toey for breakfast here. I ate at the First watch in Crestview hills, it was good. My girlfriend never been here. I always ordered the avocado egg with diced potatoes my favorite I take the English muffin and make a breakfast sandwich....yummmmy. She ordered a breakfast sandwich. I took a bite of it, it was good. This is one of my favorite breakfast places besides Crackle Barrel. I will be back.

This place does not lack for customers! From the time our group got there until we left there was a steady stream of anxious customers and there's a reason. The food was varied in an oversaturated breakfast market. Lots of options, nothing to corny, just good fare all around. The wait staff was very pleasant and the décor is laid back without feeling like it is unkempt. The prices were fair as well. No nationwide chain restaurant gouging here. The service was quite fast as well! Maybe too fast because some of the food was not quite done. That is my only complain, and when working with that kind of volume it is tough. So not much to complain about here. Nice place, good food, great service.

We went last Sunday around 10:30am, it was very full and busy, we waited about 15 min had some complimentary coffee and talked a little. We got to sit down and started ordering, the OJ is the best oj I have had in a really long time so fresh and sweet it was great. Our breakfast came out and it was perfect I had the crepes with banana strawberry and granola, best granola so far, this dish was great. Everyone else had a pancakes and they where giant and looked super yummy. I will be back .

Great food and fast service. I appreciate the diverse and changing menu. This time I got the choose 2 with the veggie melt and pecan Dijon salad, with no chicken or bacon. Both were very tasty and fresh.

I was visiting Cincinnati for 3 days for a softball tourney and needed a good breakfast spot within walking distance to our hotel. I found this place on Yelp and everyone I went with was glad I did. Ate here twice and both times the food was great and the service was excellent. Waitresses were very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be back next year!

I generally like First Watch. When my wife started weight watchers, we stopped going there because everything they have is high-calorie, which is probably why it's so delicious! They have a special called the "gravy train" which involves a ridiculously large omelette covered in sausage gravy, which is delicious. This location is usually super busy, but we went there on Easter Sunday and got right in. Timing is everything. The staff is friendly. The coffee is okay. Overall, it's a solid breakfast locale.

Went with a healthy meal this time around. Got one of the egg white omelets with and English muffin and some fresh fruit. All around was very good and the service was quick. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick, fresh meal. It's not a place you would rave about, but it gets the job done!

This was the first time to a Cincinnati First Watch, went to Rookwood. It was good. When I lived in Florida everyone raved about First Watch and I was never impressed. There was not a wait, when there typically is one at all of them. Service was very good, our server was triple sat, so he had another server help take our drink order and greet us. The food was very good, had the chicken quinoa pesto bowl. The specialty juice drinks were a little pricey and just ok.

I'll start off saying that I'm not usually a breakfast person- but First Watch makes me excited for breakfast, brunch and lunch, and if they were open all day, I would even have brinner there. I met my friend on our lunch hours on Friday. I was worried that it would be busy, so we met at 11:30. We had no trouble being seated right away. This place can get pretty busy because they are known for their great, fresh and healthy food, so we were excited to place our order. I was channeling breakfast and carbs, so I ordered the bacon and cheddar pancakes with a side of goetta. My friend ordered the strawberry salad and turkey sandwich. They allow you to do half a salad and half a sandwich off of a certain menu, much like Panera. The food came out quickly, our drinks were always full and we were in heaven. My pancakes were fluffy and the bacon crispy little surprises in the pancakes. The goetta was cooked thin and crispy, just how Grandma used to make it. The food was flavorful and just what we wanted. We can't wait to meet there again for breakfast/brunch/lunch!

I headed out for brunch on a Sunday with an original destination of Java Glaze (apparently Java is closed although they still have an active website). I needed a replacement restaurant stat, so First Watch it was. The interior is bright and cheery. The restaurant was full, but there was no wait when we arrived. I noticed there were several registered items and trademarks on the menu, and I did find their offerings to be somewhat unique. I was pleased that they already had a vegetarian Eggs Benedict option (Florentine - Fresh Spinach, Avocado and Tomato); usually it's a matter of asking for the meal minus whatever bacon or ham it comes with. My husband tried the Caps, Etc., one of their "Eggs-clusive" items. We were both extremely happy with our meals.

I've been to the First Watch in Rookwood three times at this point, and they never fail to disappoint. This spot is perfect for breakfast/brunch and for anyone who is Vegan or Vegetarian. The ambience is like that of a diner, and the servers are really fast and friendly. My favorite dish is the Chickichanga, but I've also gotten their pancakes from which you can try a huge variety (anything from blueberry to bacon and cheese). They also have very good soups. Definitely recommend First Watch.

Was in town for a wedding and this place came highly recommended. I now know why. Friendly staff, fresh food, clean envionment and fair prices will always be a successful combination. If you are looking for a sit down breakfast or brunch....seriously look no further. $18 for two people before tip and they had to roll me out of there. I had the killer canjun omlete and the spice was just right and chicken was fresh and a great add. Potatoes hit the spot for the hangover with some already buttered english muffins. Thanks for the great experience in downtown Cincy.

Awesome breakfast restaurant choice. I was looking for a nice breakfast place that not only had great food and selection but also a good atmosphere and opened early enough. Decided to choose First Watch out of 3 choices and am glad I did. Chickichangas were delicious, not a disappointment, and the Eggs Benedict my girlfriend ordered looked delicious as well. The inside of the restaurant was nice and not lacking. It was classy enough, and probably contributes to the many business people who frequent it. I wish I could have tried more than one item on the menu! So many choices, vegetarian or not (my party was one vegetarian and one not, and there were plenty of choices). The place was packed, probably because people like to frequent it, but we didn't have to wait for a table which was nice. Service was also commendable. The waitress was attentive and many thanks to the cashier who chased after us at the parking lot to return a pair of glasses we forgot. Highly recommended breakfast restaurant!

No Stars. Breakfast this morning was inedible. The omelet was made from some pre-whipped egg mixture. The eggs were the color of unripe bananas which is impossible if the eggs are fresh. I asked and was told the omelets are not made with fresh eggs. They are made from pre mixed eggs. What a shame. FirstWatch used to make them with real eggs. Disgusting!!!

One of my biggest fears when I moved to Cincinnati from NYC, where weekend brunch is almost like a religious ritual, was that there wouldn't be any places that could satisfy my craving for bacon, coffee, and breakfast carbs on a given Saturday afternoon. Yeah, yeah, yeah, the parfait, berry fruit salad, and granola here are well known and delicious. But guys, come on, baaaaaaaaaaacon! When I come here, I get the Bacon and Onion hash. Because there's so. much. bacon. It's crumbled, but it's goooooooood. I've never complained about the food here (pancakes here are good too), nor the friendly service. I just wish that there were more First Watch eateries--two, three locations is obviously not enough, given the extremely long wait times. Dude, I'm having brunch and i'm HUNGRY. Open more locations please! tl;dr Wait time :c Bacon and Onion hash is good for bacon lovers. Fresh fruit, Good coffee, yay granola!

Delicious! I haven't had a bad thing from First Watch. Their food is consistent, they have great service, pretty good coffee, the only thing that would make it better would be mimosas!

This is my wife and I go to spot for breakfast. We eat here nearly every Friday. My favorites include the Trifecta with waffle and bacon, Ham and Tomato Benedict, and Cinabun (seasonal) pancake when they have it. My wife really likes the AB&J waffle and the trifecta as well. My wife is a vegetarian and they are always willing to modify her plates to suit. The wait staff has always been friendly and service excellent for us. Weekdays are much better than trying to get in on a Saturday or Sunday.

A chain, yes. Delicious brunch, also yes. We came to First Watch midday Sunday, just as everyone else in Cincinnati was craving a meal too. There were at least 30 people in the queue ahead of us, so getting a table looked pretty grim. Fear not! The wait was only 10 minutes and we were promptly seated and given coffee. First Watch has a large selection of specialty breakfasts: gourmet pancakes, eggs benedict, omelettes stuffed with seven kinds of ingredients. This is not a place to get scrambled eggs and bacon, but instead come here for a gourmet breakfast. We both ordered omelettes. My friend had the Greek Fetish: Roasted red peppers, Feta cheese and spinach, topped with black olives and red onions. I had the Bacado, minus the bacon: avocado and melted Monterey Jack cheese, topped with sour cream and salsa. We split a gigantic blueberry pancake that was the size of a record. Everything was delicious, the service was quick, and despite the crowd, we weren't felt rushed to finish our meal. Our waitress kindly refilled our coffees and let us chat the afternoon away. While I'm still partial to my local breakfast restaurants, if I'm ever looking for a good omelette in Oakley, First Watch will be my first choice. Price per person: $13.00

I really enjoyed my veggie burger here! It was one of the best veggie burgers I've had in awhile! The wait was long, but it was the day after New Year's Day, so I expected as much. Service was ok, but I hate that you have to bring up your check. Potatoes here are amazing too, and they have a great tea selection if you aren't a coffee drinker. I was very appreciative that the waitress let me know their tomato basil is NOT vegetarian. They make it with beef broth... Kind of annoying, and I wish that was noted on the menu, but I still had a great lunch!!

The Hyde Park location of this breakfast all day (and other stuff too) chain gets unbelievably crowded on weekends around brunch time, but they handle it well and you can always peruse the next door sale shelves at Joseph Beth while you wait. The weekday experience is much more laid back if you have that option, but once you're seated, service is quick and efficient on any day. Menus are the same across all First Watches, but I will say that the blueberry pancake I had on my last visit here wasn't quite as good as one I had at the Crestview Hills location recently. I've had good experiences with my other standard here though: the Turkey Dill Crepe Egg. On a side note, if you sign up for their Sun e-club, they will send you a coupon for buy one entree, get one free and I think you get something on your birthday as well.

First Watch is a go-to destination for your nomalicious breakfast fix and hangover cure. The food is SO delicious, and quite affordable, with coffee and water constantly on deck. The have a great variety of both breakfast and lunch items able to please anyone from the health nut to the hearty binge eater. The service is great and super fast. The only drawback this place would have is it's small venue and large demand, meaning you're likely to be waiting for a seat just about anytime. However, they do offer free coffee in the lobby for your wait, and as mentioned earlier, the service is fast! PS: I recommend the Chickichanga. #ommanomnom

This place was recommended as a breakfast spot to hit before we left town and it was wonderful. Apparently it's a chain, but it was new to me, and they have a wonderful selection of breakfast items. They have more of a hometown restaurant feel compared to a Bob Evans. i ordered the chickichanga and thought it was very tasty, if you can handle a Mexican tasting breakfast. Don't look at the nutritional facts on this thing...according to their web site.... Total Fat 74 g 114% Saturated Fat 34 g 170% Cholesterol 601 mg 200% Sodium 1311 mg 55% Goo! Can that be right? Wow. Either way, i enjoyed it and thought it was a great breakfast place. They must have a thousand pitchers, since they leave their coffee and water pitcher at your table. Makes life easier on the server and the customer, harder on the dishwasher.

Looking for a great breakfast spot in Hyde Park/Oakley? Give First Watch a try. The menu includes all of the usual morning favorites including omelettes, pancakes, scrambles and sandwiches. The omelettes are fluffy and include creative ingredients like cajun chicken, chile peppers and chorizo sausage. The restaurant is clean and bright, the service friendly and fast. A solid experience!

We came to First Watch on a Sunday morning, and as you can imagine, it was crowded- about a 25-30 minute wait. Food: The pancakes were the best I have ever had, very nice and fluffy. The rest of my group had omelets and French toast, and there were rave reviews all around. Service: Meh. I know it was insane, but our waiter didn't even really try to be friendly. We saw him once to take our order, and someone else gave us our check. As other reviews have noted, if you come and run into a long wait, hit up Joseph Beth next door. It's great if you have a small child as they have a bunch of puzzles and a train table out.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and often times, it's the most delicious. Enter First Watch. I have only been to First Watch a couple of times, but each time has been enjoyable. The service was a little harried, as it was a Saturday morning and the place was packed, but they were friendly enough. The food didn't suffer a bit. Everything was hot, delicious, and cooked perfectly. I'm a fan of First Watch, and I'd like to return on a weekday morning because I'm sure things are different.

Great breakfast, served fast, relatively cheap. The wait is usually longer than you're told, but they have free coffee in the waiting area. What more could you ask for? Well, maybe that it wasn't part of a chain, but not every breakfast shop can be Annabel's. My favorite is the trifecta Belgian waffle breakfast. It's a light and airy waffle, paired with bacon and eggs. get it with real maple syrup, and you'll leave happily full but not feeling fat.

As far as First Watches go, this one is top notch. I tend to end up there for weekday breakfast meetings, and it's definitely the place to see and be seen. The food is good, though a bit pricey, but the coffee refills make up for it! The staff is incredibly friendly, even early in the morning. You can't go wrong here. You can always get a table on weekday mornings, but be prepared to wait on the weekends.

First Watch is a chain with delicious, fresh breakfast and brunch. They offer all the standard fare, with some unique and seasonal specials for those feeling adventurous. The Hyde Park location, in the Rookwood Pavilion, is as nice as any of their locations, with fast service, oriented to getting you fed and off to work. The only weird thing about First Watch is that they don't open until 7AM-- hardly the "first" watch for most breakfast-goers.

First watch is delicious. My regular order from here is the chicken salad melt, which in my opinion is some of the best chicken salad in the city. I love that you get a little bit of everything in this meal.... a little salad, a little fruit, a few potatoes and a delicious sandwich. One of my go-to places.

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and going out for breakfast is one of my favorite things. First Watch is one of the best breakfast places I've been to. It has nice cheery decor and each table is already decked out with all the condiments and extras you could possibly want with your meal: little jellies, lots of sugar (including the full spectrum of sweeteners), a variety of coffee creamers, ketchup, and hot sauce. After one glance at our table I knew I wouldn't have to ask the waiter for anything. The menu has every traditional breakfast item you could want. I started off with coffee and I was quite pleased when they left the full pot of coffee on our table for self refills. I ordered the key west crepe which had turkey, avacado, bacon, and cheese and was topped with sour cream and salsa. It was delicious! I was in heaven eating this breakfast!

My new favorite thing has been to go out to breakfast/ brunch. It's like going out to dinner, but for night shift! I have been to the First Watch by the Dayton Mall many times before, but decided to check the Rookwood location out after an early morning meeting at work. This is certainly the place to be for business professionals to have morning meetings. I felt a bit out of place in my jeans and snow boots! I finally decided to order the tri-athlete omelette. It included a fruit cup, english muffin, and omelette with mushrooms, chilis, tomatoes, and fresh salsa on the side. This omelette automatically came with egg whites, but you are able to request any omelette with only egg whites or egg beaters. I enjoyed the omelette, but the fruit was a out of season and was crunchy and hard. The inside is always nice and tidy, and the service fast and efficient, but don't expect too much more. I so wish for half stars! This would be one of those 3.5 star places, but I decided on 3 because when I compared this to other brunching options, it just didn't compare.

I love breakfast! Breakfast for lunch! Breakfast for dinner! And of course...breakfast for breakfast. I also love restaurants that don't pretend to be anything more than what it is. And that's just the kind of place that First Watch is. First Watch is one of those chains that doesn't really feel or look like a chain. It kind of has that greasy spoon feel to it, but without all the health code violations. The inside is always clean and well kept. It really does a pretty good job of making you think you're in a family-owned business. First Watch is unique in that they're only open from 7:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. And while they do have a lunch menu, they're known for breakfast and brunch. And rightfully so, as they do both quite well. I've stopped in a few times and have always gone with the breakfast. Because let's be honest, breakfast is good any time of the day. Every once in awhile I'll get the pancakes or French toast, but I'm more of an omelet kind of guy. I'd suggest the Bacado, Killer Cajun, Far West (without the ham), and The Works (again without the ham). If you want to try sides, you can't go wrong with the bacon, sausage or toast. On the brunch side of things I've only tried the Chickichanga, but that was pretty good. I've never had anything from just the lunch menu. The ingredients are fresh (which you can tell) and the service has always been top notch. The only downer is its success. First Watch is an extremely popular place and is often very crowded. Waits for a table can take awhile and even though the food is good, waiting is always irritating. Another bummer is the limited hours of operation. Would love to see it open longer to enjoy that tasty breakfast. It's a pretty good place. With pretty good breakfast. You should give it a shot. Mahalo, and enjoy.

Good brunch and good sandwiches. Great service. It's chain but doesn't feel like a chain at all. Not that I am but good vegetarian options and you have to try the waffles or french toast.

First Watch is a 'go to' for any occassion between the hours of 7a-2p. I offer First Watch as a suggestion for brunch with friends on a weekend, for breakfast business meetings with clients or lunch by myself. I even get it 'To Go' when I'm heading out of town on a roadtrip on in a hurry. The menu is full of fresh, healthy menu options that are so hard to find elsewhere. The staff is so friendly and attentive and accomodating to any diet you may be on. For vegetarians, I strongly reccommend the Siesta Key Parfait or Fresh Fruit Crepes. For those trying to avoid carbs, the Bacado is so tasty and the Tri-Athelete Omelette is filling and healthy. The next time you're looking for a quick lunch spot or a brunch with family or friends try First Watch. You won't be disappointed.

First Watch is o.k. And I will go back, but for me the food is not spectacular. Apparently others disagree because it is always crowded. My opinion of their lunch is about the same. I think the breakfast next door at Joseph Beth is better for about the same price. The books and newspapers are a double bonus.

The food is very good and there's a nice, family atmosphere. The quarters are pretty tight, especially when there is a wait. Parking is not great because at the one in Rookwood Commons and in Kenwood.

I came here with high hopes of finding somewhere actually decent for breakfast. I was sadly disappointed. My waiter was very unfriendly, the service was slow and it was pretty pricey. Also, they put melon in their parfaits. That's just weird.

Many locals love First Watch for its delicious and healthy breakfasts (give me the turkey sausage from the Lean Machine any day). I have found, though, that First Watch is equally as good for lunch. We went on a weekday at 1:30PM and only had to wait ten minutes for a table, compared to the usual thirty to forty five. We had originally planned on eating breakfast for the second time that day but instead chose to go crazy and order lunch entrees. We both ended up selecting the "Red Eye" sandwich, and we both cleaned our plates completely. The Red Eye is Cajun grilled chicken, melted Monterrey jack cheeses, and southwest dressing. It is SO good, I definitely recommend it. The sandwich is served with a great alternative to greasy fries; baked home fries and a chopped salad of tomato and cucumber in a dressing so light and refreshing you can hardly taste it. The salad cooled down our mouths from the sandwiches, it was a perfect combination.

I realize that First Watch is a chain, but it's about the best breakfast I've had at a chain restaurant in a good long while. The options are extensive and all the food I've had there has been delicious. Best yet, they leave the coffee pot on your table - it's like they know me! Avoid typical brunch times (weekend mornings/late morning) and the wait isn't too bad at all.

First Watch is something of a household name in Cincinnati. It really is the place that most people end up when the word brunch is uttered. Only open for Lunch and Breakfast, First Watch is good at offering what it knows. The breakfast menu is vast, with all kinds of omelets, breakfast meats, toast, etc. The nice addition to First Watch's breakfast menu that is in short supply elsewhere is a good selection of crepes. The crepes are light, fluffy and delicious. The lunch menu is a little slimmer but if you're looking for non-breakfast food at First Watch you still have plenty of options. The sandwiches are good, if not a little on the small side, and they also have some salads on offer. If you were visiting Cincinnati and found yourself waking up a little on the early side, go ahead and head over to First Watch to fulfill your brunch needs.

This was an excellent choice for families where taste may vary. We ordered waffles which were warm and fluffy, pancakes, omelets, potatoes and bacon. All were above par although the portions seemed smaller than normal. Visited on Sunday around 11 am and had about an hour wait. If you don't have the time to wait on a weekend or can't make it early I would look for other options to avoid frustration and perhaps visit midweek. Service was fast and thorough, with our dining experience being half of the wait.

First Watch is the kind of place that makes breakfast and lunch the way YOU would make it if you had access to unlimited ingredients all the time. It is honestly difficult to describe First Watch's menu because it is so diverse. They have all the traditional breakfast options but have several unique twists if you're game. They also have an entire portion of the menu dedicated to healthy options, which is a huge plus in my book. I love the tri-athlete omelet, the power wrap, and the lean machine. Last time I was there, I tried a bacon-cheddar pancake that was every bit as good as a McGriddle. If you are planning on going to First Watch on a Saturday or Sunday, be prepared to wait for a while. That being said, Rookwood offers plenty of cool stores to look in (there is a cool bookstore next door) while you wait.

This is easily my place of choice for breakfast. The price is a bit higher than I prefer to pay per person for a breakfast, but really the food and the specials cannot be beat. The product is consistently excellent, although the dining room is also consistently busy! Busy, busy, busy!! Be prepared for a wait on the weekend. However, despite the wait, the servers are always attentive and friendly, and the food is fresh and fulfilling. My go-to here is the Caps, etc (Crimini mushrooms roasted and topped with shredded cheese), but I've tried the omlettes and some of the other specialty dishes - everything I've had here has been perfect.

  • M C.

This first watch is really busy after 11am...you can look at the menu, place your order while waiting for seating and they bring your order shortly after you sit down..

    (4)
  • Chris C.

First Watch offers a wide variety of breakfast and lunch fare. The avocado, bacon, and tomato hash is easily my favorite dish, but the traditional melts and pancakes are awesome as well. The food is always hot, and I've never regretting a menu decision. I love that servers leave an entire craft of coffee at the table, which makes it easier to focus on the delicious meal, instead of spending time trying to flag down a server. First Watch is always slammed on Saturdays and Sundays, but they do their best to keep the wait short. I typically have to squeeze my way in on Sundays but never wait for more than 20 minutes. There's even free coffee for those waiting. Those looking for a fancy dining experience should go elsewhere, but First Watch offers enough of a creative twist on traditional diner foods to prevent breakfast boredom.
