I eat her for lunch during work pretty often with my coworkers. The restaurant is attached to the grocery. It's definitely authentic Mexican food (lots of people speaking Spanish around you in here, which is a good sign!). The people that work here are always friendly, and the food comes out very quickly too. The lunch specials are all less than $10. I normally get the green enchiladas, which are very yummy. Their burritos are also good, and if you're feeling adventurous (and don't mind bad breath) you can get the menudo which I'm told is delicious. The price-point is good, and it's authentic, but inside the restaurant is not exactly the cleanest or prettiest. I come here for a quick lunch, but I would steer clear if you're looking for a nicer experience. Overall, very authentic, tasty Mexican food in a small local business. It's kind of a dive, but still good for a quick bite.

Summary: Authentic Mexican food can be found if you are willing to wade out off the simple lunch specials. Food is cheap, food is plentiful, but sometimes the service time might be slow. Valle Verde is a great lunch spot. For those who want familiar Mexican food, quesadillas, fajitas, burritos, tacos can be found with the typical meats and sides. You'll get a lot of food, it'll be filling, and be satisfied. The carnitas is very good and the steak uses a tri-tip like fatty cut, which makes it delicious. If you are looking for a more adventurous/authentic experience, there are more meats to pick from ordering tacos a la carte. Lots of Spanish speakers in the restaurant order fried fish, seafood stews, etc. which tells me that ordering the simple lunch specials is not doing this restaurant justice. Service is... inconsistent. Sometimes, everything is prompt and quick, other times, you might have one person in your party drooling while everybody else shovels food. Though, for a $7 lunch, I think Valle Verde is a perfectly good place to visit.

Went here for lunch at 12:30 pm. Service was prompt and friendly. A bit of a language challenge at times but hey, this is an authentic family owned Mexican restaurant. Decent food and casual atmosphere. Good for a quick meal

Fantastic Latin American food... And Mexican too. :) Fresh and Authentic... At least as authentic as you can get in Cincinnati. I've never been disappointed. You can even practice your Spanglish. Menu ranges from authentic soups, chicken, pork and fish dishes to traditional Mexican-American fare.

The market may be A-OK, but the food & service at the restaurant left much to be desired. Waiting 22 minutes to get a drinks for 3 people while ignoring the 4th person's drink order is silly. I studied in Mexico for a semester, so I know good Mexican food and this was not it. It's rare for me to go take time to give a negative review, but I don't want anyone else to waste a drive to Elmwood and $14 on fish soup.

This is my go to spot when I need real Mexican ingredients for Tacos, Pico de Gallo, Guacamole and more!! The price is amazing too and even some days there is a Elote lady- ready to make you a tasty traditional treat.
