I'm a little surprised to find no reviews for this. We got to take a ride on the Cincinnati Dinner Train over the holidays as part of a office Christmas party. It was a really cool location for a party, as we had 2 whole train cars to our group and we could wander at will. The main car was the dining car, and the second was a lounge car where you could just hang out. Totally vintage train and lots of fun to see Cincinnati by rail. Food is pretty decent, especially considering it's all prepared before the ride. Staff is great and I'd definitely recommend it if you haven't gone before. It's just something different to do, not your everyday restaurant experience.

The Cincinnati Dinner Train is truly a dining gem. I agree with the review above except a few errors were made. They offer smoked prime rib, not roast beef. The glazed salmon is to die for and even the chicken breast in white wine sause is tasty. They do not prohibit tipping. The servers were very good and worked amazingly hard. They encourage tipping and the servers depend on it. The trip is three hours long, not two. And as far as being around for a long time, I was able to meet and talk with one of the owners during my trip and he told me they sell out almost every Saturday. I think this great attraction will be around for a long time.

The Cincinnati Dinner Train is a fantastic experience and is a great train ride and dinner right in our own back yard. Urban dinner trains are few and far between. Most dinner trains are located out in the sticks, this one is right in the city making it quite unique. This is also a quality act. Nothing is second best only first quality makes it onto this train. The food and experience are both above expectations and there are some surprises along the way. The train leaves at 6:00 PM from the parking lot of the BBQ Revue restaurant which is located at 4725 Madison Road in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Kenwood address is wrong. I have been on more than one dinner train and this one is up there with the best of them! for more information their phone number is 513- 791-Rail. Private Charters and Group deals are available according to their website - just google Cincinnati Dinner Train as I did.

This is definitely a one of a kind dining experience in Cincinnati. The only thing I'm really not a fan of is it can be expensive, it does get a little long towards the end, and they will stick you with random people if you're a couple to fill tables. The last point could be great or not so depending on the other couple you're with. But on its perks. You get a 4 course meal for anywhere from $60-$100 a person. The food is phenomenal though! It would be nice if they included one drink with it though. You are seated at a 4 person table. Like I said, if you have 4 people great if not you will be assigned a random couple. Fortunately, we were seated with another younger couple who we had great conversation with for the 3 hours you're on the train. People who live along the route come out and wave as you go by too which is kind of neat. Some of the scenery is very unique and a part of the city you can only see this way. Other parts are boring and full of other trains at a station and lots of trees and one part full of dirty run down houses and yards. But the most part is full of nice neighborhoods and landmarks that the staff point out to you. There is a bar car located at the back of the train. If its nice out the staff will slide open the side loading doors and you can watch the world go by behind the safety railing. They are very knowledgeable and love telling stories about the history of landmarks and the railway itself. The drinks are reasonably priced and included beer, simple mixed drinks and a pretty extensive wine list. It starts in Madisonville and goes over 71 where you can wave to traffic. It then heads south through Oakley, goes by Lunken Airport and stops at Sawyer Point to change the engine over and back the same tracks to where it began. The courses come out with perfect timing to take up the trip down without feeling like you're gorging yourself. And the food is so good! When you book your trip, you will get your choice of 3 dishes, so you know what you're getting into before hand. Its a great unique date/special occasion date idea, for sure. I'm looking forward to doing it again sometime

What fun. Booked dinner for a family of 4 on a train. If you are a couple, i'd try to find another couple to go with me, otherwise you have to sit with a couple you don't know. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. The food was good especially the dessert. Not much to see on the train ride but that isn't there fault. Since i get motion sickness sitting backwards when the train stopped and reversed directions, i had to switch places with my brother so I could sit forward. It a lot of funny dining in an old style train. My only complaint was some people were in shorts and not dressed up at all. Even though the website says "business casual", some people were not dressed up. It would make for better atmosphere if everyone were dressed up. Also the music while cool, was very loud. Next time you have some relatives in town take them on the dinner train for a fun night out.

The train ride was fun. We sat across from a nice couple and had a good conversation. The servers were nice and attentive. They helped make the atmosphere. The entertainment conductor was fun and knowledgeable. We tried a couple signature drinks and they were quite tasty; also they were not over priced. The food was fine. I would call it average. Everyone at the table cleaned their plates, so i think it's safe to say we all liked the meal. The photos were terrible. The photographer wanted $10 for a washed out picture that didn't even look as good as the ones Kings Island takes of you on a coaster. Overall, the only reason that I would not return is the scenery. 3 hours of shrubs and graffiti with a port-a-potty and a gravel yard. When I booked this, I thought we were going to get scenic views. Historical Cincinnati was the impression I received from the Internet. Being from the north, we've never experienced cinci and we were looking forward to the historical sites that the website alluded us to believe we would see. Instead, we saw bushes.

The train was nice, the service was good, the food was a B+ and the shared table gave us an entertaining evening of conversation. However, the "scenery" was the backs of industrial parks, multiple dump sites and graffiti (some of which was actually pretty good). Near the end of the "turnaround" you will get fleeting glimpses of the Ohio river but they are gone before you can point them out. All-in-all, I liked the experience very much and am glad I went, but I am ashamed that this is the view of our city showed the out of towers we shared our meal with. The return ride was better as evening's softer light made some of the trash dumps less disturbing and animals came out. We saw a hawk, two rabbits and three deer. Note: Do NOT go I very hot weather! AC runs intermittently and the cars are at time quite warm.

We rode the New York Central train. And right before Christmas! So we were expecting to see more holiday lights along the trail than what we did, honestly. I definitely feel that this trip would have been sooOo much better in the daylight hours! So we're going to try this again during the Summer. Overall, it was a lovely experience. My salmon meal was tasty!

Definitely something you should try. The food is good but the overall experience is the real value. The staff is excellent and the drinks are surprisingly cheap!
