Small home town spot. Very good fish, of the 8 sushi spots in 7 miles of this place THIS is the one!

Food : B. Service: B+. Atmosphere: A+++ This wonderful cozy room offers purty damn good bibimbap (it's dayton!) and a homey nonchain atmosphere. The menu skews toward sushi, though there are korean dishes (these are unsurpassed) and the usual japanese kitchen entrees. We do not live in Dayton, but I'll be back. I enjoyed the friendly atmosphere...,think that was mostly thanks to waiter....as well as the food. It's not a trial to get in (hate lines) or fit in (hate pretension). Just good food. That's all.

My wife and I love this place! It does not look like much from the outside, but hands-down the best sushi and Japanese fare in the Dayton area! All of the food is fresh, and is prepared and presented beautifully! Can't wait to eat there again!

We wandered up to Dayton for a sneek peek to restaurant week event and we wanted based on the reviews for Kabuki we decided to stop by and check it out. At first the outside of this place looks like a taco hut. It is small, sort of run down and there were no cars in the parking lot at dinner time on a wednesday night. Since it was super cold out we ordered up a cali roll, bi bim bap, and a pot of green tea. The green tea was good, but not great. That was the only tea they carried and they were out of all drinks besides water and alcohol. Our server said the pepsi truck didn't deliver that week? They also didn't have honey which I thought was strange. The roll we got again was just okay. If I went back I would order a bigger selection of sushi instead of the bi bim bap because it was kinda "meh." Since we were starving and it was freezing we would've eaten really anything. I don't like comparing other restaurants to each other because I don't think it is really fair. So what I will say is there is barely any beef in the bi bim bap, it is small in portion, it had a ton of spinach and lacked depth in flavor. I love the intimate atmosphere, and the prices are fair. I will have to return and get what they are known for (sushi) next time.

Best sushi restaurant in town. Rolls are huge! Playboy roll is dynamite! Flame broiled at your table! Great selection of rolls, great service and good prices. This restaurant has very authentic sushi and also serves many great looking dishes however I can only comment on the sushi as this is the only item we have ordered so far. Check your mailed coupons as they are sent at least once a month in the form of a post card. They have bogo offers and percentage off your entire bill.

Great service. Ordered the spicy chicken - which had great flavor, and definitely had a kick to it. It came with a side salad (which was small, but with all the other food that's okay!) and soup - we got the spicy vegetable which was delicious. My sister and I split the spicy chicken and a crunch munch roll and it was plenty for the two of us. The crunch munch was also good - stuffed with crab and tempura flakes and topped with shrimp. Only "negative" is Pepsi products and they were in bottles, not fountain.

It's a unique and relaxing atmosphere with solid Korean. Prices are reasonable, service is good too. I enjoyed the seaweed salad and the traditional Korean dishes like bibimbap and kimchi jjigae.

We've been there 3 times in the past month and have had nothing but amazing experiences. The waitresses are warm and extremely attentive. I could not imagine better service. Then we get to the food. The food has been AMAZINGGGG. I had the Mafia roll and the spicy tuna roll. The spicy tuna is really spicy! (i like that!). I also had the eel roll and it was the best I've ever had. My husband is in love with the spicy vegetable soup and several of the korean entrees including the ribs and he loved all of them. Coming from Washington, DC and Philadelphia, we've had some trouble finding really good ethnic foods, but Kabuki blows our minds in every way. Keep up the great work!!!

Surprisingly good. Went with my brother on a visit back to Dayton. The place is small, but not crowded, and the looks are deceiving. The menu was a little too big for me, but we decided on a couple lunch boxes. Its hard to describe their menu... its got Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and Thai dishes on it. The box was the same... Chinese spicy pork, sushi, miso soup, a wonton, etc. Oh well, lets just call it "Asian" and also call it delicious. Everything was better than I expected it to be. I wasnt that hungry but finished almost all of it. The panko veges and shimp were especially nice. I'll be back next time I'm in town.

Three visits, all with kid(s). What can I say my kids like sushi and it's on the way back from music lessons. First the food - we enjoy small plates, and the vegetarian gyoza, edamame, tempura, and miso soup have hit the spot with the kids. Of all of these, the tempura is probably the most undistinguished. Good, but not in the class of the scrunchy yummy gyoza, or the very good edamame, or the always inviting on a cold day miso soup. My personal favorite - the kim chi pancake. With of course, just for me, extra kim chi on the side. It's not the most eyeball-searing kim chi there is. But there's flavor, and crunchy texture, and of course, garlic. That's my dinner there. The veggie sushi is well made and fresh tasting. What sets these guys apart is their service. Friendly, and accommodating of the spectrum of hipsters, convertible driving empty nesters, and parents of kids like me who've found this place. All of us are greeted cheerfully, and served attentively, even if our four year olds are being little monsters (yes that happens). And it's natural, that they are busy professionals, and yet like people. Ambience is intimate and comfortable. If you haven't tried it, go there. Well worth it.

Think this is my new favorite sushi haunt! Excellent! Stupendous! Loving this! We were fortunate that it was restaurant week for our first visit. They had a great special: $30.14 for Edamame (appetizer), soup & salad, and 3 special rolls. We had a choice of Miso or Spicy Vegetable soup. We both got the spicy vegetable and it was just awesome. What a nice change up from Miso! For our sushi rolls we chose the Ninja, No Name, and Tuna Mania. All three were terrific! The entire meal exceeded my expectations. Bravo, Kabuki! I hope we are this happy every time we come! (Cause, you know, if not I'll have to lower my rating)

Easy the best Sushi place in Dayton. Kinda small and cramped but definitely worth the wait. Playboy Roll, Centerville Roll and Buckeye Roll are the best! The rest of their food is ok nothing to write home about.

Simply amazing!!! Excellent food, atmosphere, and good prize. My favorites dishes are the Playboy and the Centerville rolls. You should try them. My favorite restaurant on Dayton so far.

Quite a surprise to find such well-made, tasteful sushi. The spicy vegetable soup was delicious with full flavor and just enough spice. The miso tasted very fresh and wasn't bland or boring like I've had at other places. The Playboy roll was a heavier flavor and the asparagus added a nice crunchy texture. The Orchard roll had an open freshness that was a perfect opposite to the Playboy flavor. My favorite was the Corona roll. The light fish with the lime and lemonade sauce was tangy and sweet and a mouthful of flavor. The service was perfect. It was speedy and friendly but we were not rushed in any way. Next time we travel to Springboro we will be stopping by for a meal.

Great place even tho it's a hole in the wall....love the kimchi pancake, sushi is great and the Korean food is good! I wish they would give you some Korean side dishes (banchan) when you order Korean food especially because the prices are high just to get a bowl of rice and soup!

  • Sean C.

I have been looking for an authentic Korean restaurant for quite some time. I will say that everything my girlfriend and me had was absolutely delicious and the service was incredible. We had the Gyoza, salmon roll, kal kooksoo soup, and the spicy pork lunch special. It was amazing and very fairly priced. I was very excited to find this restaurant and will be coming back quite often. I give this my highest recommendation.

Dayton' s hidden gem! Fabulous sushi in a modest setting. Creativity is amazing. Spotless! The Playboy roll is brought to the table flaming. It is spicy and scrumptious. The perfect counterpoint is the Orange Sunshine roll, with fresh orange slices on top. I've tried many dishes and these are among my favorites. The hardest part about Kabuki is deciding which delicacy to try. Don't pass up a chance to have the best sushi ever.

Dined here at lunchtime on a Saturday. Service was good, food was good, price was appropriate for quantity of food served. I ordered the Sushi combo box. I had the choice of miso or a spicy vegetable soup; I chose the latter and was very pleased with the flavors. The box (divided plate) itself came with a salad with ginger dressing (good dressing -- nice and sustantial texture and taste, not watery like some places). Then there was rice, tempura somethings -- I know shrimp was in there and probably some veggies (batter was light and tasty), 5 pieces of sushi selected by the chef, pieces of a sushi roll, and I think the menu said a vietnam spring roll. I don't know about that -- it was something deep fried and seemed to have cream cheese in it? It was ok. All this and green tea and tip for about $22 and I couldn't eat it all so lunch could have been cheaper had I ordered with my stomach instead of my eyes. I did like the variety and was pleased.

Kabuki has delicious, fresh sushi with a fun atmosphere. Justin, the manager, enhances the experience and has great recommendations on the menu. Try the Playboy Roll, the Mafia Roll, and the Crunch Munch Roll. You can't go wrong. They also have the best seaweed salad!

  • Lynn E.

The food is very good and fresh. We had a coupon for $10 off when two entrees are purchased. They would not honor it because we had not spent $40. Nowhere in the coupon book did it state this requirement. The server/manager would not budge and said his computer would not let him take the money off of the tab. This is the second time we have had a similar experience here. We will not be returning due to this poor customer service !

Very good Japanese fare, especially for Dayton. The place is small, frequently crowded and loud. If it's packed expect to wait a VERY long time for service. The owner needs to invest in a bigger facility and more staff. It would be 4 or 5 stars if they got their act together.

My new favorite restaurant! Today was our second visit to this awesome little place and I'm in LOVE. The sushi is oh so fresh and delicious here; so much so that it has put sushi at the top of my favorite foods now. I have lived in Centerville for almost eight years and Kabuki is less than a mile from my home. I only regret that I didn't try it sooner. This small family owned restaurant has great atmosphere and friendly service. Our server, Justin, was very nice and told us that they make all their sauces fresh daily. He also told us that the best value for our BOGO half off coupon was to get the sushi combo lunch. It includes three pieces of sushi along with your choice of one of their many creative specialty rolls. It also includes a bowl of spicy vegetable (my favorite) or miso soup. The coupons are in Reach magazine. So far we've tried four of their specialty rolls - Centerville Roll, Fire Roll, Playboy, and Hot Sex. Justin recommended the later two as his favorites and he was so right! I can recommend any of these as my husband and I both loved all of them so much that it was impossible to pick a favorite. The Playboy is unusual in that they bring it to your table wrapped in foil and they light it up. I've never had sushi that way, but it gave the sweet glaze sauce a wonderful smoky flavor. I have never really photographed my food, but everything was presented so beautifully I decided to start. I would eat here every day if I could afford to. They have so many specialty roll options that it will take me a while to try them all, but that's the plan! I also recommend you try the "Heart Attack" jalapeño appetizer - delicious!

I called the restaurant and asked if they took reservations and they said yes. I made reservations for four for 6:30 pm. When we got to the restaurant on time, there were a couple of groups in front of us and our table was given away before I had a chance to check in. We didn't get seated until 7 pm and all we got was a "sorry for the wait." I know it was the day before Christmas eve but I didn't see them put any effort in holding the table or trying to make up for their mistake. I was pretty disappointed, especially since this was one of my favorite restaurants in town and I have brought many friends to dinner here. I usually get the dolsot bibimbap. I love the crunchy rice on the bottom of the hot stone bowl. They don't serve the traditional kimchee or side dishes typical of Korean restaurants with the meal, but they do make an excellent spicy vegetable soup with just enough spice to make your tastebuds tingle. The kimchee pancake and caterpillar roll are also very good. Service was a little off but the food was still very good.

A friend of mine introduced me to this restaurant featuring a fusion of Japanese and Korean food. I had never had either. I was VERY impressed and have since returned with other people. Food is excellent, they have great lunch specials, service is always good. Only problem I ever had was ordered calamari and it was rubbery to the point of inedible. Otherwise, excellent. The spicy chicken is fantastic!

I am visiting the area and decided to try Kabuki. Food was great ....the tea was not watered down at all. The server was amazing and they should clone her---on top of her game in every way. Big thumbs up to Leanne! Will be back to eat next time.

I am literally coming here to comment on how wonderful our waitress was. My boyfriend and I took my sister out for dinner, and happened to come across this place. Stepping inside, it was quite small...but cozy. I enjoyed the atmosphere. I don't remember everything we ordered, but I know my sister ordered a ninja roll. I ordered the heart attack, but I didn't like it. That didn't really matter...there was nothing wrong with the roll, it just wasn't for me. My sister really liked the ninja roll, and I found it pretty tasty as well. Anyway, from the minute we stepped foot into Kabuki to when we left, our server was AWESOME. She was extremely friendly and clearly enjoyed sushi herself. I can't quite put my finger on what I liked so much about her...but I think it was the energy that she, and the other waiters all seemed to possess. It is evident when workers enjoy their jobs, and that was definitely the vibe here. I am also a waitress at a sushi bar. I'm seeing that I could take a few pointers from this place. I will definitely be back, when I'm in the area!!!

Dirty and dark! I have eaten at the kubuki in Columbus and it was delicious so this was a big disappointment. As we sat down I immediately noticed that there was hair stuck to the table cloth. Wich had no reason for being there not like this is upscale dinning. As we sat our waitress asked how we were doing I asked her the same. She replies I'm sick and waiting for my replacement the stomach bug is going around the restaurant. Immediately wanted to leave you shouldn't have the a stomach bug and be handling food raw at that. The walls were a terrible brown and the cushions on the booth had holes in them. The sushi was just so so all of the rolls seemed to have way too much sauce and cream cheese. Love the hole in the wall restaurants but when they are dirty and dark with stick waitresses it's way too much. Definitely would NOT recommend and won't be returning.

I was introduced to sushi just last year by a friend and we've been to many places. Kabuki is by far the best! They have all the typical rolls you'd expect to see at a sushi bar, plus some very creative ones. My favorite is the hot sex roll (it's finished off by being baked, the flavor is phenomenal). They have more than just sushi, though. Everything is always fresh and even when they're busy, it all comes out in a timely manner. The wait staff is awesome, they'll make you feel like you've been friends for years. The only drawback is how small the restaurant is, but I believe they're possibly expanding soon. Highly recommend!

By far my favorite sushi place in Dayton! Wonderful sushi in a quaint little restaurant on Main Street in Centerville. Try the Orange Sunshine Roll, sweet orange slices paired with salty soy sauce makes for a unique and unbeatable combination. A little pricy, but well worth it. You won't be disappointed at Kabuki!

Bottom line: Best specialty rolls I've had in the Dayton area. When I first saw that a Thai restaurant was the highest ranked for sushi in the area on Yelp!, I cried a little on the inside. Yes, Kabuki is a Korean restaurant as well, but let's just agree that this is primarily a SUSHI spot that happens to serve bulgogi. Our waiter was friendly, attentive and enthusiastic. When asked, he provided great recommendations. I recommend sharing a bottle of plum wine. Delicious but very sweet so one glass was enough for me. Miso is a safe choice, but I LOVED the spicy vegetable soup (see photo). I like lots of heat so I didn't think it too spicy. My friends say it cleared out their sinuses. You be the judge. The waiter recommended the fire roll (see photo). Slightly spicy and I loved the green onions. The hot sex roll was great as well (see photo), but tastes similar to the fire roll (so I don't recommend ordering both). Spicy tuna was good, but average. It's a little pricier than I prefer, but I'll pay it for the best sushi around here. I'm excited to go back and try the other specialty rolls. Maybe some bibimbap as well!

  • P G.

I have been there twice in the past week. Both times for dinner. As others have said, it's a small place, so it does get crowded. The sushi is very good. I've tried their sashimi and the rolls. Also don't miss out trying the Korean items on the menu. I tried the bibimbap in the stone pot and it was excellent. I agree with one of the other yelpers, they really should get rid of the big TV hanging over the dining area. It's kind of overwhelming for such a small place.

  • Johnny A.

The sushi is fresh, affordable, presented beautifully, and they give you large portions. They give it to you fast and without hassle as they are at your table quickly to answer any questions and make suggestions. These are the things I expect when I'm in the mood for sushi. Not only that but the variety of rolls available here will make even the most die hard sushi buff sit up and take notice. They more than likely have some options you've never even seen before at other sushi bars. I know that was my experience when looking at the menu it was evident that they got very creative rather than presenting the standard offerings you see time and time again. Try the Corona roll you won't be sorry you did.

If you are looking for something that exceeds your expectations .... this is it. I have lived in DTown most of my life. Driven by. Never stopped in, till today. It will be hard to eat sushi from another source. If you like local, homegrown fresh food then you can't pass it up. They grow their own vegetables. They make every sauce in house. They even brew their own soy sauce.

Delicious Japanese/Korean restaurant. The specialty sushi rolls are all great and the service is good too. Spicy vegetable soup is really good too. Their only misstep is that they always "forget" to give you soup when you order Carryout. That is really annoying.

  • MJ M.

Why did it take us so long to go in! I think this has to be the best kept secret in the Dayton area! This will be our go to for Korean and sushi! Fabulous!!! The sushi was fresh and great roll combinations. The Japchae amazing! The wait staff was crazy good, so friendly! Justin made our night! We will be back for sure!!!!

We've only tried Kabuki once but will return. The big draw for me was the diversity of salads: seaweed, octopus, with radish as a major element. This is rare and much appreciated. The tempura was super crunchy and the tempura vegetables were among the best I've tried. The owner was patient and explained many of the menu choices. Next time I will try tuna sashimi...can't wait!

Let me first say that we did not order the sushi (which has been raved about) and we ordered carryout. Here was our order: Kal Bi (short ribs) Bulgogi (beef rib eye) Japchea (rice noodles) Heart Attack Monkey Balls We spent over $60 and I at the time I was willing to and excited about the new awesome restaurant that we were trying, after eating the food I was bummed at wasting such a large amount of money on bland food. When my husband picked up the order the girl behind the counter said something to the effect of "You like Korean food?" as if we may have been the very first people to ever have ordered the Korean food.... that worried me a bit. Here's the rundown of the food: Heart Attack- good flavor, bad soggy texture but I don't hold that against them since we carried out a fried item Monkey Balls- bland and soggy texture- again we shouldn't have ordered something fried to go. Kal Bi- good texture (in my opinion short ribs are yummy no matter what you do to them) but it had an overwhelming sesame oil odor and flavor (my house still smells like sesame oil one day later!), there were 8 very thin slices of meat for $18.95... yikes! Bulgogi- the texture was fine, the flavor was pot roasty- sort of bland, and for close to $15 I would have expected more meat. Japchea- I will say that I am not used to the type of noodles that they used, they are advertised as rice noodles but these were not the kind that I have ever had (they were clear and had a jelly type consistency- maybe cellophane noodles?), there was NO flavor to the "sauce"... I took one bite and threw it out :(. Oh Kabuki- we were so excited and wanted to love you. I'm sure your sushi is as good as everyone says, we just wish your Korean food stacked up.

This place has some really yummy sushi rolls and great miso soup. The menu is extensive and they usually offer a deal where you can buy 2 specialty rolls and get a third free. The rolls are huge and the few that I've had were very good. They will serve it on a huge party tray and give you individual plates if you are sharing. They seem to do a lot of deep frying though with panko, so make sure you read the menu carefully. The first time my sushi had deep fried panko kind of weirded me out... it was good though! I'm so glad this place is in Centerville. My little brother loves it and we try to go every few months or so. Thanks Kabuki, for giving us sushi options!

  • Matt S.

By far the best selection, variety and flavors for sushi in Dayton. If you like it raw or cooked they have it. The spicy soup is excellent as is the Bogogi. Not alot of seating, but you can usually find a seat. Try the Playboy or Centerville rolls!!

Best sushi in Dayton. Their head sushi guy it a pretty awesome dude. 5/5

  • Kiarash Z.

Kabuki is my favorite restaurant for specialty rolls. And the Centerville Roll is my favorite roll of all time: cooked salmon with special sauce, shrimp tempura, avocado and cream cheese deep fried and served with a spring mix salad with four kinds of chef sauce and masako, It's a meal in itself and runs $12.95. Do yourself a favor and start with a Kani Salad: cucumber, radish and crab with flying fish roe and kani dressing. It's the best salad I've ever tasted. I can't wait to return for another Centerville Roll, Kani Salad and maybe a Heart Attack (fried jalapeno stuffed with cream cheese and spicy tuna).

I'm not sure if anyone has ever gone here and ordered anything besides the sushi? I'll tell you there is no need to, though! If you eat sushi I'm assuming you are somewhat of an adventurous eater so this is the perfect place to let your stomach Bear Grylls go nuts because it's all good! I'm somewhat bummed that they stopped doing the buy 2 get the 3rd roll free, I guess once word got out they didn't need to because I will still throw my dollar, dollar bills yo(I'm sorry for that outburst) to get some of that tasty goodness any day!

This is our fav place for sushi. We try to have something different every time. I really like the miso soup and the Ninja roll is always good. We tried the Monkey Balls for the first time...WOW, they could be a meal in themselves! Very nice staff, too.

Best sushi place on Dayton, in my opinion. This place is fantastic, with fun and unique rolls, as well as some fantastic spicy vegetable soup. I adore the staff and the energy of the restaurant.

Can't really comment about the Korean which is why this isn't a one star (giving the benefit of the doubt), but the Sushi is really very bad.

  • Trav S.

Nothing special about the meal I had which consisted of various forms of sashimi (tuna, salmon, white fish, etc) and a spicy tuna roll. The spicy sauce is decent (seemed hotter than most spicy sauces I've had) but I didn't think it was all that great. The rice was a little dry. The service was good, regardless of the fact that she didn't speak great English. The miso soup was very tasty and came with my meal. The atmosphere seems cheap. I didn't try any of the specialty rolls but it did seem like they had an extensive list of sushi. It is definitely a restaurant that I would try again. But based on my one experience there it was A-OK.

Love, love, love this place!! Fabulous sushi! My favorites dish is the Centerville Roll - cooked salmon with special sauce, shrimp tempura, avocado and cream cheese deep fried and served with a spring mix salad with four kinds of chef sauce and masako. It is divine! While my husband always gets the miso soup, I love the spicy vegetable!

  • Elizabeth R.

This is such a little gem in Centerville - I LOVE our server, the food is delicious and the options are great. The kimchi pancake, a little greasy, but still tasty. The tuna mania roll was great, the spicy yellowtail roll, however, lacked spice. The miso soup was really nice - better than the spicy vegetable my dinner date had, I think. The wine list was inexpensive and I really liked the $6/glass red wine I had. The service was very slow - it's a tiny place, and it was a very busy Friday night, so I think they were just understaffed. However, our server was really nice, very fun and did a great job. You can call ahead for reservations here, which I would do - especially for how small it is. Now, off to try their lunch menu!

This place doesn't look like much on the outside and it is fairly small but it has the best sushi in town. They have a wide variety of sushi options; each one I've tried is delicious. The playboy roll is my favorite. It comes to table wrapped in foil and sitting in a skillet that has flames around it which gives it a great smoked taste. The staff is very friendly and helpful.. I went with a large group for my birthday and they gave everyone a sake bomb and then did a chant and hit the gong for us to take them. It was so fun and the entire party enjoyed their drinks and food.

Very good food in a very unassuming, "you'd never know it" type of place. The Bi bim bap is absolutely outstanding and their Bugolgi is good as well (though I prefer a little more flavor). I've lived in S. Korea and while it's not like the original, it doesn't need to be. It can stand on its own. Next up: Kalbi Update: 3/16/2014: Tried the Kalbi and just as I suspected, it was delicious. The meat was not only marinated properly, but grilled to perfection. I don't eat beef often, but when I do, you can bet it will be here.

Love every roll we've tried! Very friendly staff, quaint ambiance! My favorites are the Centerville, samurai and playboy rolls! Moderately priced and you usually can find coupons in the local paper- Best Sushi in Dayton!

  • Shawn C.

Subpar by any means. They do the little things well, miso soup, seaweed salad etc. However their sushi is less than desirable. Pretty much supermarket quality. Philly roll was way off. Had an aftertaste that made me hope I would not be paying for eating it in a few hours. Special roll selection was way to large, like it was saying " we don't make any of them especially well so we will offer you 30 mediocre ones and hope you like 1 or 2." Also we noticed that they use cream cheese in at least 1/3 of them. Who does that? Calamari was basically battered rubber. If this is the best in Dayton, shame on you folks for being fooled so easily!

  • Lexi K.

Do yourself a favor and go all in and get the specialty rolls if you are going sushi route. Mafia and caterpillar are superb. Really haven't had one that we didn't like and we've probably had about all of them. We don't love cream cheese in our rolls, but you can order any that come with cream cheese without. The best sushi place in town!

For Ohio, this is pretty DAMN GOOD sushi. I've had good sushi... and I'm not disappointed. They have more rolls than you know what to do with and your meal comes with either soup or salad. I love the miso soup, even though it's not really anything different or special from others I've had. Only bad thing is that it can get pricey! The servers I've had at Kabuki have always been polite and knowledgeable about their food. Don't judge a book by it's cover because this place is kind of in a weird location. In the past 13 years I lived in Centerville this has been a pizza place, an Indian place, a Thai place, etc. So many restaurants in one location! I really hope this place sticks around. I hear it gets busy for lunch but I'm not around enough to know anymore for sure. However, they do have plenty of parking! I wish there was more room to move around in this place because they will definitely need more room in the future if more people find out about this place! Edit: one last thing. Get rid of the dang TV!!! It's distracting and ugly!!!

A friend of mine recently treated me to a dinner at Kabuki. I was recommended the Hulk sushi roll. It was excellent! I also had a glass of the moscato white wine that was very refreshing and smooth. Great service and excellent food.

Ate here again tonight. This is probably the best sushi in Dayton, as far as I know. Their specialty rolls are all amazing. I recommend the Centerville Roll.

I like their food, it's a bit on the expensive side! I love their spicy cabbage soup!

I remember the first time my dad suggested we try this place out. I had never heard of it, but upon arriving I saw how incredibly tiny it was. I strongly believe the smaller the place is, the better the food is...usually. I'd have to say I agree for this place! Haha- oh goodness... my first experience here was quite entertaining. Having been a newer sushi eater, I was trying to make heads and tails of their extensive specialty roll list. I remember the waiter coming over and making suggestions for their most popular rolls, the centerville roll, the playboy roll, and the hot sex roll. The centerville roll comes complete with a small spring mix salad on the side. The playboy roll is wrapped in aluminum foil and set on fire for a bit while it is being served to give it a "barbecue" taste. The hot sex roll is warmed before it is served and has that perfect sticky- hard rice on the bottom of the roll- yum! Our waiter was a little to up close and personal and took it upon himself to have a seat next to my dad while we were ordering....weird. After we had ordered and received our food the waiter proceeded to ask, "so how's the hot sex?" It was delicious, but did you really have to ask that question when I'm eating with my DAD? Ack! The multiple times I've been back afterwards, I've tried many other rolls including the maui roll and corona roll. My dad ordered the traditional Korean dish bibimbap, which I sampled. It was very tasty- it came out in a steaming bowl and you were able to add the sauce yourself to prepare it how spicy you wanted it- a plus for spice wimps like myself. I've enjoyed every bit of food I've had here. They do offer traditional types of sushi as well for those not wanting to have specialty rolls. The service has always been very good, excluding the waiter that liked to sit down next to you. When I'm back close to Springboro, this is always a place I want to go out to dinner!!

Very good sushi!! I recommend the TNT roll (my very favorite) and the dynamite roll. The place is a little on the small side but you can call ahead and reserve a table. I've never had a problem getting a table for large groups. They sometimes run specials buy 2 rolls get one free. Service is good and food is wonderful!

Talk about your hidden gems! Kabuki is an unassuming little place set up in what appears to be an old Taco Bell. The food is off-the-hook delicious! The extensive list of rolls [30+] are amazing and the vibe is very friendly. They've been running an ongoing special since August, buy 2 rolls, get the 3rd free, and I couldn't stop myself from finishing what was too much food for 2 people. The knowledgeable, somewhat quirky staff was attentive and friendly. My only knock is that the big flat screen TV in the corner broadcasting the Food Network seemed out of place.

Fairly decent and fresh sushi. Menu is vast. Prices are slightly higher than competitors, and given the location and decor, not necessarily justified. Portions are surprisingly large.

We travel the country for work and have had lots of sushi. Yelp reviews looked good, so I thought we'd give this place a go! I give it a 3 overall because the sashimi was just average. Had the Monkey Balls, which I give a 5. Had the Centerville Roll, also a 5, but the Corona and Fire Roll were a 4. Soups of the day were good. Service was great, and ask for the buy two get one free on rolls coupon. Server gave us one. May come back, not sure.

Delicious Japanese/Korean restaurant. The specialty sushi rolls are all great and the service is good too. Spicy vegetable soup is really good too. Their only misstep is that they always "forget" to give you soup when you order Carryout. That is really annoying.

By far the best selection, variety and flavors for sushi in Dayton. If you like it raw or cooked they have it. The spicy soup is excellent as is the Bogogi. Not alot of seating, but you can usually find a seat. Try the Playboy or Centerville rolls!!

Can't really comment about the Korean which is why this isn't a one star (giving the benefit of the doubt), but the Sushi is really very bad.
