Consistently good!! Every time I get 1 of 3 things, chicken soft tacos, chicken quesadilla, or taco salad. The chicken is always always moist and tender. It is like it is baked in broth. SO good! We always get chips and salsa to go for later. And it is SO affordable. $4.50 for 3 chicken soft tacos and you are full. The only thing I don't care for is the parking lot. Pot holes and usually very tight parking. The one in Perry is the same great food and service but with more parking. We visit one of the locations at least once a week.

Very disappointed! Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday 1230pm. They didn't bring the drinks until after our food came, we also ordered cheese dip, it didn't come until our meal came out... Then the drinks were never refilled..poor service, great food. They were not busy at that time...

This is one of my favorite restaurants. I don't live too far from Mexico now, so I can appreciate the good food and really great prices. The combo fajitas are the absolute best deal. They do not skimp on the shrimp. The margaritas are good too. Good Canton staple food!

This was our first visit to the Canton location. We were on the road for the past 9 hours and we were hungry - the kids were cranky and my wife and I wanted something simple. We have dined at their other locations across NE Ohio so we knew what to expect. Chips and salsa were great - my kids could eat those chips for days. I ordered the set with enchilada, quesadilla, and rice. Not disappointed at all as that hit the spot. The kids love the cheese quesadilla here (no surprise to my family as both kids could eat grilled cheese sandwiches for every meal if my wife and I let them). If we are in the area again we will come back.

If you've had Mexican food outside of Ohio, don't get excited. Lots of melted American cheese and ground beef. I ordered Chile Rellenos, got a plate of melted American cheese and ground beef with a very few green chili strips mixed in. Fortunately the gold margaritas helped smooth it all over. They get a whole star. The other star is for the salsa which was mild but flavorful.

Love coming here (especially for the cheese quesadilla). The food comes out super fast, but it would be nice to see a waiter some time after that (my dad had to literally get up from the table to get an extra plate, and we had to flag someone down after that to refill waters). They also either brought me the wrong cheese dip, or they changed it (not pleased). In case you go with someone who does not like Mexican food, the chicken strips and fries from the kids menu are apparently good also.

Love El Camps! I typically eat here for lunch and get an appetizer as a meal, the Nachos Supreme are so good! Large portions priced really reasonable and everything is delicious! Only issue i've ever had here is once they bring you your food it's like they forget about you, don't come back to check for re-fills etc. But the food is excellent, and the prices can't be beat. I will continue coming here!

Me & the family are visiting from NJ and was looking for something different from the usual around the north canton strip..we found this place and decided to give it a try. Thank goodness we did!! The food is excellent and the was delivered to our table in a quick manner. Our server, Mariella, is super friendly and kept my glass full!

I love this place! I'm pretty new to the area and we were worried we would never find a good replacement for our favorite Mexican restaurant back home and after trying several other Mexican restaurants in the canton area our prospects were looking bleak until we found El Campesino! Delicious! We now end up eating there once a week because we can't get enough. I love their salsa and bean dip and always end up getting the pollo poblano (my only suggestion would be to add sautéed onions to the sautéed poblanos on top) Yum!

Excellent shrimp fajitas!!! I was impressed with the amount of shrimp and vegetables that were on the sizzling platter. For 13.95 it a was a real deal. Chips and salsa were good too. I highly recommend!!

Still by far our favorite place to get mexican food. Even though we've moved to Green we come down to eat here at the very least once a month. Salsa is always fresh and delicious, my favorite thing about this restaurant chain. Food service is always quick, great place to stop and grab a quick meal on a busy day. The mexican chilaquiles, cancun cheese steak and enchiladas campesinos are my favorite dishes. Do miss living down the street form this place!

I don't know, guys. The Cantonites say that this is one of the best Mexican places around. It's pretty much like every other crappy Mexican joint in the U.S.

Delicious and fast! The only downside is that they do not put hot sauce bottles on the tables. Other than that.. good food and great prices. I highly recommend the Grilled Taco Salad with Steak!

I have to say, as far as Mexican restaurants go, I'm pretty darn impressed with El Campesino. I was scheduling a meeting with someone, and I wanted to make sure everything was air tight before I went. On their website, they had their whole menu, the site was actually designed pretty well for a local business, and it was easy to navigate. They even had coupons for discounted meals! (So it's worth a look ahead of time) The decor is pretty well put together, bright and colorful like many Mexican places, where we were seated was pretty chill too; not too much noise or too many other people. The service was quick, salsa and chips the whole time, refills like clockwork. The Food, was really good I'll have to say. In the past I'd go to Mexican restaurants and think "Man, I must just really not like real Mexican food," but this proved me wrong! Perfect blend of spices, and decent portions for price. Very worth it.

For some odd reason I always get sick when I eat there food. I live in Miami and I am no expert on Mexican food, but I definitely experienced better. Service is always fast.

The Beef Chimichanga is a like a religious experience. Sometimes I actually dream about it. I know this makes no sense, but I prefer the Massillon location better.

I've been to two different El Campesino restaurants in Canton on at least four occasions total. Each and every time the service was great and the food was even better. The meal is authentic Mexican, in a gorgeous establishment, and lightning fast service. Each time our drinks, chips and salsa were delivered within minutes and our meals delivered no more than 10 minutes of us taking our seat.

Maybe I am spoiled growing up in California, but was not impressed with this place. Service was uber fast, i could hardly believe it. I got the chicken asada which was decent, but wife's fajitas, kids bean burrito and nachos were not so good. A lot of food went uneaten. I hope there are better Mexican places around Ohio, for the sake of those who live and visit there!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
