Walking in here, it reminded me of a cafeteria. There is a small menu of soups on the right, then you order at a counter and your soups come in little disposable cups on a big red tray. We ordered a baked potato soup and broccoli and cheese soup. The loaded baked potato was okay - some of the potatoes were undercooked and it was rather thin, but it was tasty. The broccoli and cheese was basically awful - it just tasted like velveeta and not well cooked broccoli. We barely touched it. The french bread they give with the soup is good - but nothing amazingly special. Overall, I think Panera's soup is better and I HATE (like I am cringing that I am telling you that) saying that. But - I would come back - I think it has a lot of potential. If you like hot dogs - they have a ton of toppings. Also - random zombie posters in the corner. Love.

Basically a coffee shop that serves soup and hot dogs instead of coffee - a nice change of pace. The food is alright but nothing too dramatic. The hot dog i had was about average and the maple chicken sausage soup was okay but tasted like I could've made it better myself. Despite the mediocre food, the staff was very friendly and the dining area was quiet and cozy.

I love the idea this place was created on- providing a nutritious meal at a reasonable price in downtown Akron. The soups are good, with my favorite being the broccoli cheddar. The staff is wonderful. Each time I stopped in they were very friendly and helpful. If you are expecting a high-end culinary adventure, this is not the place for you, but if you are looking for a great lunch for $5, this place fits the bill.

Not so good..... I was so excited to try somethiing that sounded so good. I was very disappointed. I tried 4 different soups on a recent trip and found them all to be tasteless and bland. They look very appealing but do not taste that way. Bummer!

i really, really want to like this place. it's simple and the people are nice and i love soup - all things that i love. but it is just ok. not too exciting. i have been three times. the first two times i had the beer cheese soup and the baked potato soup, respectively. they were pretty tasty and i did really enjoy the beer cheese. however it was my last visit that just killed it for me. the tomato soup was advertised as "tomato basil soup" which sounded great so i went for it. it was not good. in fact, it was bad. quite bad. as i sat there eating it i thought to myself, "this tastes like really mediocre, watery pasta sauce." and it was not fresh basil to boot. very, very unimpressive. not 5 minutes later another customer inquired about the tomato soup and i overheard the women behind the counter describe it as (and i quote!) "it's pasta sauce with italian seasoning and a little water." WHAT?! that is hardly a soup. i left hungry and very disappointed.

Awesome! The blue moon beer cheese soup was awesome and my husband did the two chili dog challenge and enjoyed it!! Make sure you aren't the dummies who show up super early, they won't be quite ready for you. But it is definitely a lunch favorite of ours!

Very good. I don't eat beef or pork so the options for me were limited. I had beer cheese soup and grilled cheese. Best grilled cheese I've had in a while. Beer cheese soup was ok, but I'm not a beer fan. I only got because there was no other vegetarian option. Owner and staff were very friendly. I'd return again.

Had a bowl of the clam chowder for lunch. It was on the watery side, not as rich as I expected. Plenty of potatoes but light on clams. Back dining room is dark. Electric fireplace. Beware of the slanted table.

The Stew Pot Kitchen is my go-to lunch spot. I've been steadily going there for over a year now and I've never been dissapoionted. I love that their menu changes weekly and they've been including 3 sandwiches lately. Hot dogs are awesome, soups are delicious and the price is right. $6.50 for lunch including a drink. The location is always clean, staff is very friendly, and I can't think of a better spot for lunch.

Had the chilli, wasn't very good. The chilli had slices of cheap sausage. They didn't have any soups I was interested in so I defaulted to chilli. Won't go there again.

Nothing wrong here. The loaded baked potato soup and 1/4 pound dog filled me up. The soup, while pretty rich, didn't get old. I just ate a cup and it was pretty filling. Courteous staff and clean dining room. A cool little place.
