I went here for the first time with a group of people and we all tried different items, the only items that were good were the mussels. Everything else was poor over priced food. Stay away!!!

Never go here. The owner called my wife a BITCH because she accidentally bumped into the buildings main power switch witch is right outside the woman's room door in a narrow hallway. Apart from that, the food is bad, expensive and they have no A/C. The only reason we even went there is that the bartender is a good guy.

I'm a little confused by the negative reviews of the Noisy Oyster. I lived in the Valley so I frequented this restaurant and because of my amazing experiences I have brought my family and friends here for seafood over the past 10 years. The Noisy Oyster is located in a strip plaza near the creek in Merriman Valley. It's not an upscale restaurant by any means but it DOES serve fresh seafood. The wine and beer list leave much to be desired but the prices reflect that. The fish tank consumes the front of the bar (and humorous antecdotes can often be found posted by sticky notes to the over-size aquarium). It's all rather relaxing if you think about it in a funny sort-of way. This is a tough place to get in and out of during the peak hours if you're in a hurry... the kitchen is small but the owner cooks for you when he's there (which is almost always). The waitstaff tends to be a bit selfish so expect to be served on their timeline. It's a great place to watch sports or sit by a wall of windows overlooking the creek. The Noisy Oyster is a neighborhood bar with exceptional food. If the seafood isn't fresh, the owner doesn't serve it. The Greek salad is to-die-for and the oyster shooters are legendary! Imagine a plump, raw oyster nestled in a shot-glass soaked in its own salty brine with HOT cocktail sauce and a float of vodka (151?) All of those flavors combine to make a sensual experience in your mouth! Most of the fare on the menu is a la carte, which means you pay separate prices for fried/steamed delicacies such as shrimp, clams, oysters, etc. Although this isn't Red Lobster it isn't TGI Friday's Combo Platter Palace either. Does the smell of the creek or the valley waft into this place? Of course it does. Do you sit at predominantly high bar stools while eating your steamed clams with drawn butter? Of course you do. Do you become distracted by the regulars who beat a path to the KENO machine every few minutes? Of course! That's the charm of the Noisy Oyster!1 The allure of this restaurant is the people, the fish tank,

Absolutely delicious! Fresh oysters (not fried, these were on the half shell), served with horseradish and cocktail sauce, tender escargot with a rich sauce of onions and mushrooms, mussels in a really good broth. My daughter had the crab croissant (on pita, they were out of croissants, but it didnt matter!) and it came with a ton of fresh cut fries. The guy behind the bar ran drinks and waited tables and was extraordinarily NICE. True, the ambiance is neighborhood bar, but I felt comfortable with my 14 year old and there was another family with three kids under the age of 10 there as well. In addition, the menu had a lot of "kid-friendly" selections. (There is a section for eating and a section for drinking). Very reasonably priced. Loved it and we'll be back!

The decor is much to be desired. It remind you of an old outdated smoky bar, but my husband loves their fried oysters.

This place is a joke. I went for oysters since I just started getting into them and I have to admit, this is the worst place for them. I ordered a few to try and tried to order something else off the menu but when I tried, it was like EVERYTHING was unavailable at the moment. How can you make money if you have nothing to sell? Ended up with 6 oysters and a burger. Waste of time and money.

Went in with a restaurant.com certificate. Was told it was no good on Fridays. Told waitress there was no date restriction on the certificate. She said they would accept it but I had to spend $50, not the $35 stated on the certificate. She said the manager changed the rules and it wouldn't help to talk to him. A lady at the next table waved her certificate, she had the same problem. If the owner contracts with restaurant.com to sell discounted certificates, he should honor the contract! We left never to return.

I just read the other reviews of this place, and they are far off from the truth. All of the food is NOT frozen, you just need to know what to order. The soups, burgers, fish, and a plethora of other menu items are all homemade. Restaurant.com is a terrible business and has sketchy business practices. The owner is smart not to accept the certificates. Restaurant.com is the one you should be angry with. Overall, this is a great bar and restaurant for what it is. It's not trying to be fancy. Just cheap drinks, reasonably priced food, and a casual atmosphere.

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. Went in with a restaurant.com certificate, and after we had ordered our food, the waitress tells us that the certificate was no good because the manager made a mistake with the gift certificate and we would have to pay full price. I asked to see the manager and the waitress started yelling at me, saying that was the policy and the manager was not available. I was astounded because: A) this was the restaurants fault and I should not be punished for their ineptitude and B) the waitress ended up yelling at me when I had simply asked to see the manager. As this was by far the worst service I have ever seen at any establishment, I did not leave a tip which which resulted in the waitress chasing me into the parking lot yelling obscenities at me. Aside from this incident, the food was mediocre and overpriced, and I would not return there even without the debacle. Stay away.

Food was awful, the restaurant was filthy (Health Department should be involved), bugs crawling around ankles and human feces around the toilet.

The food is horrible; It's all frozen processed food and way over priced ($14+ for a dinner entree). I gave a two star rating because it is mainly a bar, and that aspect of the place isn't as bad. It's a dive-like bar, but they pour strong drinks.

Finally went to Noisy Oyster for a 'change of scene' dinner. My husband and I were very dissappointed tonight... He ordered Prime Rib Sandwich - Over cooked, WAY too much fat in the meat, WAY over seasoned. All I could think was this was 2 or 3 days old. Cold white roll, very mediocre side salad. The worst was the 'fries' - soggy and lukewarm, that only tasted of the very old oil they were soaked in for WAY too long. We both tried one fry....Terrible, not even close to what fries are supposed to be. I had the Philly cheese steak and a salad instead of fries (lucky for me!). The "Persian" house dressing was All Oil with some herbs but no flavor from them whatsoever, so, Persian dressing is Olive Oil. The salad was otherwise iceberg lettuce with two small chunks of tomato and a small amount of shredded cheddar -- the cheddar was dry and also tasted old. My sandwich roll was identical to my hubby's - cold, white, not even toasted a bit. The sandwich sat on the line too long, the melted cheese was cold to the touch although towards the middle of the sandwich, the meat was warm. Skimpy on the meat given the size of the roll, the sauteed onions were the best part of the sandwich. The place was practically empty when we walked in, which should have been a clue. These folks need to make a LOT of improvements if they want to stick around. BTW, the dark lights still let the numerous cobwebs show and the service was 'minimal' -- even though there were two other people in the place for food.
