Haven't been here in a couple of years. Really like their hot and sour soup. Egg roll was pretty good. I had an entree called Chong Ching beef. It was chunks of filet with snow peas broccoli and mushrooms in a spicy brown sauce. Really fresh veggies. Nicely balanced and not overly sweet. I really don't like sweet Chinese entrees. They never seem to be very busy at all. I don't know how they manage to stay open. Overall the place is clean. The staff is friendly and nice, and the food is pretty good. Would probably give it 3 and 1/2 but I will round up to 4 for yelp. They also have tequila, in case you were wondering.

So sad. The house gourmet is closed. No matter how good the food was I guess they couldn't overcome their location. Its almost like losing a member of the family. House gourmet will be missed.

Good place! I called in a pickup order and the lady on the phone was very friendly. The food was ready within ten minutes, just as she had said. I ordered chicken lo mein and their spicy crab salad roll. The sushi was fairly good, considering there are hardly any decent sushi places in the area. The lo mein was okay, it was kind of bland but they give large portions with a good amount of meat. The prices are also great! The sushi prices were about low average, but they have excellent lunch and combo specials. The outside of the joint is kind of run down, and it could be easy to miss. I didn't get a great look at the inside, but it seemed dim lit and quiet in an intimate, relaxed way. I will definitely be going back to try out more of their sushi options!

Really tasty food! The place looks a little worse for the wear from the outside but is clean and welcoming inside. Seems like they do the bulk of their business in carry out--which speaks well of the quality of their food that people are willing to come pick it up when so many other places deliver. Usually fairly empty in the dining area, so no need for reservations. Everything is made fresh to order so expect a brief wait. Their won ton soup is great--has more of a beef base than a chicken base for the broth--delicious--and the won tons are quite good. Lo mein is tender and delicious, not greasy. Never been disappointed!

Slow service, slower refills, but some flashes of delicious. Potstickers - Light, good balance of cabbage and meat. General Tso's - average breading, good sauce Walnut Chicken - walnuts on the side as an after thought, overcooked asparagus, raw green peppers... very strange. Chicken Fried Rice (no onions) - frozen carrot and pea mix in a dry tasteless sea of rice. I would give them another chance for takeout.

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city.
